I got both of my tattoos done there by Melissa a few months ago and definitely do not regret she is so nice and they have an amazing dog named Hank, she worked great with me made sure I loved the design before she put to needle to my skin! My first one with her was a design I found online and my second one she drew on me withoit a stencil and she did amazing! I am in love with the tattoos I got from her and will definitely be back for more! I definitely recommend

My first tattoo experience with this shop was truly top-notch. 👌🏼 The atmosphere at the shop is fun, inspiring, and accepting. My last three tattoos have been from homage tattoo, Kirk does an amazing job making ideas come to life. Love the atmosphere, which makes the tattoo experience so much better. Melissa rocks and has great customer service. I have my appointment on March 1st with her at noon and I cant wait to see the turn out. Its a simple tattoo but I already know shes going to kill it. Ive definitely done my research cus this tattoo means a lot to me and I trust her 💯 %. Homage is a very nice business too. Clean and very classy inside and I can definitely see they are huge on customer service cus again I cant say enough about Melissa and the impression she made on me and my son. A little more than a week to go before the big day but I would definitely recommend them to anyone that wants good work and good customer service. Hands down, the BEST tattoo shop in Tacoma. This is absolutely the place to go for professionalism, good energy, and outstanding art. The artists here are masters at their craft, most of my own tattoos have been done here and I’ve never been disappointed. These people care about doing their job to the best of their abilities. So much heart, concentration, attention to detail, and personal connection right here in one place. Not only is each artist uniquely talented, they’re all so kind and welcoming. You’ll feel at HOME when you’re at Homage. Less than an hour in, chatting with these guys you might even forget they’re drawing on you with a needle and ink! Melissa is absolutely amazing! She took 3 ideas I brought in, merged them into one awesome drawing and made my first tattoo an incredible experience. Got a piece done by Matt, and I cant put into words how beautiful it is! Its everything I wanted and more. The atmosphere in the shop is amazing. Not only is he an incredible artist but a person as well, he made sure to check in with me through out my tattoo and make sure I was doing okay! My husband and I both recieved tattoos from him and well be back again for sure!

Friendly, experienced, and easy to work with. Great prices, too. Melissa went over everything wanted, the styles and colors, and designed the tattoo to perfection. She ensured the spelling, dates,and location of the info was correct. That it looked how it was expected. The picture posted was immediately after the tattoo was completed. Im always on the search for incredible flesh artists, hence why when I see art I admire I ask where and by whom it was done. Homage Tattoo has come up time and time again, and now I know why. I entrusted Kirk with my youngest daughters first tattoo today, as well as an add on to an exsisting one of mine. I met him the day before with art ideas we wanted. He didnt rush, took his time, was knowledgeable, and after all was said and done I trusted he knew what to create for us. There was no disappointment when we showed up today. Just got my first tattoo from Kirk. As I’m from Texas and had to leave my artist 2500 miles away it was hard finding the right artist. Homage tattoo is awesome they are busy so appointments are the way to go. But then again it’s usually a great sign when everyone is booked out for a couple months. Tattoo came out great and customer service was awesome thanks Kirk and Homage see y’all in a few weeks for more

This shop is wonderful! I walked in, and instantly felt like I belonged. Kirk hooked me up with an amazing hip tattoo, and pieced it together on my body so it fit my curves better than just a generic design. He was friendly, professional, and very detail oriented. I am so incredibly happy with the work he did, and I will definitely be back for more ink.

The whole experience was very nice. It was my first tattoo and the lady working was very nice and helped me feel less anxious and nervous about getting one. The tattoo itself also looks amazing and was done very well. The shop and equipment is clean too.

Came to this shop based on great reviews and they did not disappoint! Great work, great experience, and very reasonably priced! The establishment is very clean, sterile, and has a LOT of personality! Kirk did my tattoo and when I discussed my original thought for one, he was very honest about how it might not be the best idea as it may not age well over time which was informative AND appreciated. I went with another I had in mind and he was very helpful and patient as far as helping to get it to print and resized for transfer. I am very happy with my new ink and would definitely recommend Homage! Ill definitely be returning!

Okay, in complete honestly, I loved this place and I would go back. I feel like tattoo shops are intimidating when it comes to your first, but once you’re at Homage and talking to them they’re so great and helpful. Kirk really made mine and my best friend’s idea so much better than imaginable. He’s was great to talk to during the actually tattooing as well. They were also helpful with making an appointment when needed. I’m flying out Thursday and they got us in Wednesday night. So thankful for that.

I could not recommend a better place to get work done. The staff here at Homage Tattoo are all highly experienced, extremely knowledgeable, and outstandingly talented. I got a traditional eagle tattoo done by kirk as a walk in. My friend also got a traditional tattoo done by Kirk. He knocked them out of the park without knocking out our wallets too. Would definitely recommend. The shop is clean, the people are friendly, and it’s captures a retro vibe. Also one of the few shops that offers military discount and possibly even take tools and car parts as trade which is cool. Definitely worth checking out.

I have gotten two tattoos done by Kirk. He does amazing work! The shop is also very clean and just has a cool set up. Some say its expensive but You have to remember that you get what you pay for and Ive never been disappointed.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE! What a great shop to trust your ink to! All of the artists take their craft very seriously and are more than knowledgeable about the ART of tattooing and have a passion. I walked in to try and get a consult/talk with someone without having an appointment or anything and was greeting warmly and openly. I was able to discuss ideas and get an appointment set up before walking out that day. At the appointment, I was not disappointed! The piece turned out amazing and my artist, Kirk, seems just as excited about it as I am, which is what you want! Melissa was also kind enough to consult with me DURING my tattoo about possibly getting a friend in for one - how awesome is that? It is also incredible work for the price that you pay - very reasonable. The entire shop is doing great work and it has been a wonderful experience that I look forward to going back for soon.

My husband was recommended by a friend to go to Homage Tattoo. We both went and were seen by Kirk. He was fast and has a gentle hand. Fairly priced and just a cool dude all around. All the staff were pretty awesome. His tattoos are bright and and his artistry is on point. I had a logo and he took the original idea and completely turned into something I would never of thought of. I was blown away by the intricate detail he had put into it. Not a single complaint! Kirk did an amazing job on my first tattoo of many! Amazing experience if he gives suggestions I really suggest you let him be artistic with your tattoo. I have a cover up that is currently a work in progress. Kirk is my artist and he is doing an amazing job. The customer service is second to none, so far the quality of the tattoo is excellent, and the price is more than fair. I have no doubt in my mind that if you choose to get your tattoo here you will not be disappointed.

Went into Homage to get an existing tattoo touched up and had the pleasure of working with Kirk. Homage Tattoo is a great place to get tattoos. The shop has a nice atmosphere, not just with the artists but within the interior as soon as you step in. I’ve had Kirk do the two tats I have from Homage. He’s a very skilled artist who’s passionate about his work and I would highly recommend asking for him if it’s your first time at this location.

It was my first tattoo ever. I looked at all the reviews and the pictures before going in for a consultation, just as you are probably doing right now. If you are having any second thoughts, dont. These guys are amazing. They know what they are doing and Kirk made me feel very comfortable and gave me really good advice as a first timer. I had created my own design for a tattoo and he communicated very clearly what changes had to be made so that my chinese character would still be legible 10 years from now. His revision of my design was beautiful and I love every inch of it. I highly recommend these professionals. Not only are they good at what they do but they are also very kind and not intimidating as I have experienced at other consultations with tattoo shops. If I get another tattoo I will definitely be coming back here!

Today my friend and I walked into Homage to schedule an appt for tomorrow and ended up getting a tattoo and will be returning tomorrow as well. The service is outstanding and the environment is the cleanest I have EVER seen! They take great pride in what they do and Kirk was amazing and it truly was an honor to be tatted by him. I would recommend this shop to anyone who is new to the tatt world and those who simply want to add to their already artistic body. This is the place to get tatted! Oh! I had a great experience here at homage tattoo. Kirk does amazing work. I came in with an idea in mind we got it looked up and found exactly what i was looking for in minutes. Kirk then printed it out and hand drew the design so it would work better for me and fit the place i wanted it. My boyfriend got a tattoo last Saturday and even though I didnt get tattooed, the shop still gave me really good vibes and was overall great experience. My boyfriend got tatted by Kirk-super cool dude. Made us both laugh a lot and was an all-around cool guy. Ill have to go see Kirk for my first tattoo. On our way out, my boyfriend said that hes definitely coming back as well.

My tat was done by Kirk and I absolutely love it. Ive only had it about 10 hours and Ive already received more compliments than tats Ive had for decades. The whole staff is very professional and friendly. Im seriously glad that I went here and I will return (hopefully soon). Scheduled an appointment with Kirk for an American Traditional tattoo on my forearm 11/17/2017 and I was not disappointed! The color, the artwork and the overall experience here was phenomenal. I plan on getting more tattoos done here with no hesitation.

I had a great time last weekend getting my first tattoo at Homage Tattoo! I was a walk-in and went the dart board route which was so fun, and I love my design. Kirk was Amazing, and even stayed late to finish mine. Its seriously beautiful, and everyone I talked to here was friendly! One of my friends and I walked out with (terrific) dart board tattoos, and Im driving another friend to her appointment today. Ive been receiving compliments all week, even while its healing. Love this place for the awesome artists, their willingness to listen to what you want, offer third suggestions, and wont BS you on what their good at. Melissa has done my last two tattoos. Kirk was my tattoo artist he was funny and his art work is amazing. I like that he asked about the tattoo me and my cousin wanted and talked over different ways to make it our own art. Overall this place is amazing and the people in it.

This is by a long shot my favorite shop around. I usually get my work done by Melissa who is an amazing artist .Today I went in to get I quick tattoo and I did a thing they have at the shop where you throw a dart at a board filled with random tattoos. As I aim for one thing and hit another, I landed on tweetie bird. “DONT BACK OUT “ I now have the most gangster tweetie bird on my leg. I didn’t know I could be stoked on tweetie bird but the way Kirk added his style was way groovy. The whole experience at this shop is top notch, there isn’t an artist in there I wouldn’t highly recommend.

Melissa was amazing. She captured the art style I was going for really well and she was so friendly and easy to talk to. The tattoo itself turned out amazing. Im really impressed with the quality of her line art. Melissa has integrity as an artist. She really seemed like she cared about giving me the best price she could offer by working quickly and offering military discount before I ever asked about. Will definitely be going back for more.

Decided to swing by with a few of my buddies since one of my friends highly recommended this place and although we were late walk ins and Kirk being the only artist there, he was very helpful with advice on our tattoo ideas. I ended up getting a tattoo that night and everything was top notch from the environment to the prices and especially the quality of the tattoo. Will definitely stop by here again for another tattoo

I wouldve gotten my tattoo here, however the assistant wasnt very helpful, seemed like she didnt care at all, bored and bothered by my questions. Yes I had walked in however when I tried to book an appointment or ask for certain availabilities, the lady told me Id have to come in to find out because she didnt know? I also asked if my husband could come in to put down a cash deposit for my tattoo appointment and she said no.. so on my next day off I go there, I ask for the availability of the artist and she has a whole planner.. so she did know and lied to me. So at this point im annoyed. But My husband had got tattooed by kirk the week previous, and he did a decent job, but the assistant, she is not helpful at all. And unfortunately to them, I went elsewhere. To 3rd rock tattoo! Dug did an amazing job on my rose, and got it done in no time.

!!!!!VERY OVER PRICED!!!!!!Kirk the owner is very unprofessional he asked for a tip. He will stare at the clock trying to drag on a tattoo and if you like someone to comment on all your tattoos saying his is the best not knowing what any of them mean to you. Over priced work is decent seen better. He is self absorbed, if you want someone to tell you not to be on the phone but take 30 mins to talk with another client and then charge you for the hours he wasn’t tattooing you go for it.

All my family has gotten tattoos here, have had no problems until today. Maybe artists shouldnt allow assistance to run off long standing clients. I was one of the newer clients of our family and went to Melissa because of niece and son. My sister wanted to get her first tattoo from Melissa who has done so many for her daughter but the assistant ran us around and out the door. Going elsewhere with our 3 tattoos.

My sister and I got our tattoo here together and had an amazing experience. Super friendly atmosphere and Kirk was so helpful and patient with us. Definitely coming back!

This is the first tattoo shop ive been to since i moved to tacoma and im so glad i chose this one! amanda was very helpful and so nice, especially having to deal with the weirdness of running a tattoo shop during a pandemic lol. kirk is a super cool, nice guy and he did an awesome job on my tattoo, i love it so much. i even got some cool goodies afterwards so thats just a fun plus. very kind, very professional people here and i cant wait to go back to get another tat! thanks kirk :)

Got some work done by Matt. His patience with me was great, I had to reschedule twice before finally being able to come in. Both times he was really great about it.When life finally allowed me to make it in, he showed me the piece (some knotwork) and his attention to detail was great. Even during the session he found something he didnt like and corrected it. He really put a lot of effort into making this tattoo look great, and he was able to work quick. He added some elements to it that I didnt expect, which made it actually come out even better.He was very professional about it, and I look forward to going back for more ink!!

So I ive been tattooed here 3 times in the last 3 weeks. The first 2 times my wife and I lucked out and scored a walk in with melissa i really respected the fact that she was willing to turn me away when I requested to get my face tattooed until she spoke with me and understood it wouldnt negatively impact my life it shows how professional that shop is and how money isnt their only purpose. Melissa tattooed two separate skulls on my wife and absolutely killed both pieces. Now Kirk went out of his way lastnight and stayed late to start and dope piece on my hand he definitely knows how to make people feel at home in that shop and I look forward to going back. One last thing over the years ive been to many shops Homage tattoo is by far one of the most cool clean presentable shops Ive ever been in with all the cool original flash sheets and memorabilia this shop could never be duplicated.

Came in for a simple tattoo and i’m normally worried that tattoo artists are annoyed by my simple ideas and i tend to be picky. my anxiety was instantly relieved when my artist, Kirk, listened to what i wanted and reprinted the stencil many times until it was the size i wanted. everyone was welcoming and love what they do. if you have a simple idea and are worried about being judged or annoying an artist, go to homage, they’ll work with you so you’re happy with your tattoo :)

Amazing studio. Even during COVID the satff us super friendly and up front. Went in with an idea and was looking to get seen by a guy one of my buddies referred. After explaining to the receptionist (cant remember her name but will edit) she explained that i should go with a different artist. I really appreciated her honesty and I booked an appoint right there. Only down fall is that they are booked with most of their artist until mid October early November. COVID ruins everything

I’m sorry you guys received that terrible review about being racist and what not. I will say that I’m super picky about where I get ink work done. I was even once called a “Commie” at a tat shop in AZ. Homage Tattoo is welcoming, friendly, and has a great atmosphere. I’m brown and gay and feel absolutely welcomed at Homage Tattoo. Went on Friday the 13th last minute with friends. Wait wasn’t too bad for a walk in, couldn’t complain. Kirk did an awesome job, added in detail that wasn’t in the book. Very clean and professional. Overall 10/10 if your looking for friendly and talented staff!

Kirk gave me my first tattoo (the elephant logo from the Oregon Zoo) & it is amazing. I got exactly what I was wanting, where I wanted it (just above my ankle), & on a pain scale of (no pain)1-10(dying) Id rate it a 3. The feeling was more irritating than painful. On the whole...I am very satisfied, & will probably be going back to have Kirk do more :)

I got tattooed here by Matt. I love the piece that he free handed on, and he was the first artist Ive ever had that walked me through exactly what he was going to do, using what colors. He also gave me a new outlook on tattoos in general, that made me feel better about some of my other pieces Ive nitpicked. He was quick, efficient, humble, talented and fun to talk to. Cant ask for more.

Clean shop and great people. Came in and was treated like family right from the start. Quality work at a great price and very welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be back! I walked by this little place about 9 months wanting to walk-in to get something (family in town thought what the heck) ended up coming back (a little less tipsy) to get a simple molecule tattoo down my arm. The Tattooist did a phenomenal job crisp straight line work so I ended up coming back a few later for a sternum tattoo and then yesterday for a thigh piece. We ended up finding out that we had friends in a small town connected to each other which made the experience that more cool. I have been tattooed by some cool people and this place is awesome. There dirt says come in as strangers leave as friends and they definitely live by that rule. They are very kind, respectful, professional and most of all just some kick as people to spend hrs with while getting tattooed.Homeage has a lifer with me.Thank you!!!

Any artist in this shop will tatt you up easy. All of them have tons of experience and will make you feel at home making sure youre completely satisfied with your piece(s). Tons of flash books and art on the walls to give you ideas and or keep you entertained while youre in. 10/10 would recommend.

The older chick and the young dude that looks like a girl were so rude to me. They refused to tattoo me because of my previous artist, I have no reason why they told me to go back to him because they dont want my business. so unprofessional it was crazy. Also they had customers in the waiting area and they were making fun of them because they didnt have any tattoos. I couldnt believe my experience, I recommend anywhere else but here.

As of this moment I have to give this place one star which is unfortunate because at first impression I liked it. That was until Curt, came over and was rude. He, I believe, assumed I was price shopping. Considering this would be my first tattoo more so than anything I was looking for a place I felt comfortable with. Curt, failed there. Not to mention he had bad breath. I feel for his paying customers.

3rd stop I made, and Kirk was the only one who believed he could recreate the tattoo I had from a few years ago that I wasnt happy with. He did a beautiful job, and I couldnt appreciate him more for coming in on his day off to do it for me.

Rude greeter. He acted like he was annoyed with me the entire time. I just wanted a simple flower and semicolon tattoo. He said I couldnt get it facing towards me. It would be backwards. My tattoo is for me not for other people. We were patient with him the entire time and let him draw his version out it and was pretty. But the vibe he gave me was terrible. My mother attempted suicide, and the semicolon suicide awareness tattoo is important to me. So I had to walk away because he just seemed annoyed at my presence and how I wanted it. I honestly wished I could have dealt with someone more professional and polite.

Come into the shop and speak to them yourselves to get a true glimpse of their morals and ethics, these are GOOD PEOPLE who work hard and shouldn’t be falsely accused of such atrocious beliefs.

Pretty dope place, good environment, friendly, didn’t schedule an appointment but picked one of their flash tattoos and came out great, also good pricing too.

I called ahead for a walk-in tattoo and they told me if I could get in before 10p I could get the work done... I showed up at 9:05p and they closed just as I was walking up to the business. I knocked on the door and window with no answer, despite hearing people inside... No big deal. Thats how businesses fail.
