It was amazing the vibe of the place is just right. Jessica did mine and she was very client oriented like when I started to feel it again she eased up gave me a second. Talked me through the whole thing. She was just awesome.

Jennifer has one of the cleanest and friendliest tattoo shop in the area. Jennifer herself is a fantastic artist and business owner. Her other tattoo artists are all wonderful and do some amazing art!

My daughter got her 1st tattoo, and it was a fairly large project on her back. The tech was very informative and paid attention to her state to make sure she was doing okay and took breaks when she needed it. The cost of her tattoo was beyond reasonable, and she is so happy about her new tattoo!

I was highly satisfied with the whole experience, from my first contact to completion. I started by emailing my idea to them. This was a very rough sketch of what I was wanting. Felix took that and made me a piece of art that Im proud to have.

Apprentice Felix did 4 tattoos on me yesterday. He is professional and did absolutely fabulous work! I recommend him and I will be back to have him do more!

If you are looking for true artists and not just tattooers, you found the place. I had the pleasure of getting some work done by Jennifer. Shes very creative, professional and provided what I was looking for in a somewhat difficult cover-up. It takes a certain level of skill and experience to go over existing tattoos. This was an old piece from 20 years ago that I wanted changed and I am very happy with the result. I highly recommend her if you are seeking an artist with creative insight and the ability to listen to their clients needs.

Very pleased with my experience at Matryoshka Tattoo today. The entire process was smooth. The woman at the front desk was very professional and helpful all the way up to my appointment. I got a portrait done of my daughter and Jennifer was my artist. She did an amazing job and I absolutely love it! She was extremely professional and easy to talk to. The shop was very clean! I am extremely satisfied with my new tattoo, will recommend this shop to friends and family, and will definitely be back!

I have had 3 tattoos here by three different artists: Jennifer, Buck, and Sara. All three do amazing work, and I highly recommend this shop!!! You cannot go wrong with ANY of the amazing artists here.

My daughter got a small tattoo for her birthday recently. I was very impressed with the shop. It felt like a salon or spa. It was clean, warm and inviting. The staff was very nice and explained things well. There was a lot of local art to look at. And, I was very pleased with the price. Extremely reasonable!

Recently Jennifer covered a small old faded tattoo for me. I wanted a much larger tattoo of poppies (a childhood connection). She did a fabulous job!! She is a true artist. When Ive shown off her beautiful artwork, friends are amazed and highly complimentary. I too look at it daily and am so tremendously pleased and happy. I can highly recommend her. If you are considering a tattoo, looking for the BEST and professional job, schedule an appointment with Jennifer! But you may want to plan ahead as it took me 6 months to get scheduled.....that says something about how great she is! Thanks again Jennifer!! Youre simply the best!!

Wonderful environment. The staff was so kind when we had to reschedule multiple times due to covid. They were patient and worked with us every step of the way. They have good protocols in place so we felt safe going in. Luis did a great job and was such a kind and calming presence! I would highly recommend him and Matryoshka in general!

My daughter (17) got her first tattoo here today, with recommendations from others. The artist was very nice and VERY patient. My daughter has a very low pain tolerance and didnt do too well throughout the process, and the artist didnt get annoyed or anything at all, which was great. She encouraged my daughter and talked to her the whole time. My daughter loves the tattoo!

I have gotten multiple tattoos done with Sara at Matryoshka. She is awesome! Sara is excellent at interpreting your ideas to design the perfect tattoo. She is super responsive and friendly throughout the entire process. The shop is great too. The other staff members are helpful and nice. I’ve never had any issues scheduling or getting in touch with my tattoo artist. I cannot recommend Sara and matryoshka enough!!

Matryoshka Tattoo, in my opinion, is the BEST place to get your tattoos in Topeka. When I moved back here, a friend referred me and I will not go anywhere else. All of the artists are awesome! If you come with ideas of what you want or giving them free reign to create, you will not be disappointed. I have done both with my artist, Luis. This latest one, i gave a pic and an idea of what I wanted, but let him know he was free to create it how he saw it. I was speechless when I saw the drawing, and even more so when it was finished. Yes, there may be a wait time with any of them, but it is definitely worth it! Talented and personable artists in a homey, comfortable atmosphere. There is art displayed around the shop also, some of which are by local artists in Topeka.

Jennifer did an amazing, amazing job on my tattoo. I couldnt have had a better first tattoo experience. She was friendly and did gorgeous work on my finch tattoo. Incredible realistic style and very professional. If youre looking for a place to get your first tattoo, pick Matryoshka.

We went in for matching tattoos with Sara. She was lovely to talk to. This has definitely been one of my better tattoo experiences. Will be back!

This is the only place I go to get my tattoos done, Jennifer listens to what I want and makes awesome designs. Ive never had an issue with her and her staff is super friendly. They will usually call you ahead of time to look at your design and make changes if needed. I dont think I will ever go to anyone else.

I dont get my tattoo until March! I am impressed with this place. Friendly counter person was knowledgeable about the whole procedure. The shop itself is top-notch. Will post pics of my tattoo with another review when I get it.

Had an appointment 5 months in advance... scheduled it in June paid deposit in June for October for a tattoo sleeve on my arm. Confirmed my appointment the day before and the morning of my appointment the artist Luis told me that he had nothing drawn at all!!! Sent him pictures of what I wanted and still had nothing drawn when I got there... it was a 4 hour session and he was not prepared... absolutely shiddy business will never go there again I do not recommend you picking luis.. !

I am very happy to have the work done here. Buck did both of my tattoos and I am very satisfied with the work done. I have my mom now getting her next tattoo done here, also by Buck. I will have my next tattoos done here, I am going to be a return customer with Matryoshks..Cindy Hampton

I called a local Tattoo Studio named Matryoshka and asked for an artist that would be comfortable with straight lines. They recommended Luis Leyva and his work is exquisite. He made custom bracers for me in this crisp black and white style that is sharp, beautifully detailed and worth every cent. The shop is clean, bright and super interesting on the inside. Colorful art displayed on beautiful painted walls keeps your eyes busy while you are getting work done. Professional friendly service and I personally am terribly in love with my new ink! In Topeka?! Buck did a great job on what I wanted, and Luis did a great job on my moms. Im ready to schedule my next appointment, because now I know what Im going to do with my whole arm and Im super excited to get er done! Im happy I found someone like Buck to make my vision a reality.

Buck and Jennifer are the best tattoo artists in Northeast Kansas. I havent got work done by the other two artists who work there but I know at this shop they keep their standards very high.

This is my 3rd time at Matryoshka and it is hands down the BEST place to get a tattoo. I feel comfortable and listened to. 100% recommend them.

What can you say. There may be better/stronger artists around. But they do not have the longevity that jennefir does. Her attention to detail, ability to communicate while still delivering quality art is where the magic is. Any artist who can multitask at her level should have no issue breaking into the art scene.

Best place to get a Tattoo. Got my 1st with Jennifer when she was at Fine Line. She did my first three, Buck did my 4th one and Sara has my 5th and 6th ones.

In the heart of NOTO district. The people who work here are the best at their craft. You may have to come in and sign up for an open day and time but it is well worth the wait. They also sell clothing, paintings and they do piercings. After the first tattoo l have gone back and will be going back.
