Outside looked nice and the staff who came out to speak to me were so friendly!Theyre appointment only but it really hurt me not being able to even step inside the building to purchase jewelry due to having my 2 yr old with me.I was told to leave her in the car which i was not comfortable with.

Great experience with Benji! My daughter wanted a 2nd piercing in her ear. Benji was super nice and explained everything from start to finish. Even though it was a simple piercing the studio is very professional and very clean! Nice assortment of jewelry to choose from also. I would return in the future and highly recommend!

This was my first piercing, and I was really curious about the process and tools--Benji patiently and expertly walked me through everything step by step. First time at Unity on Saturday and I’ll definitely be back. My friend and I got matching tattoos by Camilla and they turned out great. We also both got pierced by Benji while we were there. Everyone was super friendly and easy to communicate with. Bonus: we got free cookies. Highly recommend due to the staff, cleanliness, and professionalism with character!

I was under the assumption that my tattoos would be original (As in drawn originally by the artist). Well, by chance, i saw my exact tattoo on another tattoo shop instagram. What are the chances, am i right? I get that at the end of the day i approved it, but I didnt pay extra for “design” for you to google an image and tattoo someone elses work on my arm. Ipso Facto, Jeremiah is a bum and clearly doesn’t like doing custom work.Edit: Jer no longer works here, he was fired for some reason or another. The two owners can be passive aggressive but if youre cool with that then go here for tattoo and piercing. I brought a friend that was with me for my consult because he wanted to do a walk in tattoo and they told me not to bring him back because he expressed that if i didn’t like the tattoo (that was not hand drawn and wasnt even close to what i asked for) that i shouldnt permanently ink it to my body. He wasnt being distracting he was looking out for me, but thanks. Now you get two extra stars for reaching out, but keep in mind you need to judge someones character when youre hiring them to represent your business and COLLECTIVELY take responsibility AS a business when they dont turn out to be so great. 3/5

Got my forearm sleeve tattooed by Camillia. As far as dark artists go, she’s one of the best in NWI. Her portfolio speaks for itself. She’s a total professional, and cool as hell. I’ll definitely be booking with her again.

I cant say enough how much I am AMAZED at the work Mallory and Jeremiah do!! Mal has done a tattoo and 2 piercings on me and Jer has done a tattoo and another one that will be done Saturday!! Mal did a great job on my tattoo! It looks great, and they were so gentle and professional. The hygiene standard there was also way better than past shops Ive been to, and each artist had a private room which was nice. Recommend!

Came in for my first tattoo, will 100% be returning. I absolutely adore this place!! I scheduled a consultation, talked about the tattoo and about a week later i was ready for my tattoo (small quote on my back) the environment is comfortable and even with it being my first tattoo, i was very calm because of the welcoming friendliness of the environment and my tattoo artist. I was happy to lay down and watch a movie while they preformed my tat. It took about 10 mins and I absolutely love it with all of my heart! Very clean wording and professional work. definitely recommend this place 11/10 !

I was looking to add a second piercing to both my lobes and have an ear curation for a treat yourself day. I chose Unity because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews as well as the ability to peruse the jewelry options before going in to get some ideas on what I wanted. Benji helped me pick out some awesome pieces while making sure that I wouldnt have issues with the metal due to sensitivities. Benji made the whole piercing process a breeze and made sure to communicate every step in the process and made sure to take the time to ensure the piercings looked great. Overall, a wonderful experience and Im already planning my next piercings.

This review is long overdue (sorry) but 10/10 would recommend this place to anybody, especially if youve never gotten any kind of body art done before. A few months ago I came in to get my lobes pierced for the first time and the folks that I met were so lovely and very helpful. Benji did the piercing and he did a perfect job. He let me know what to expect/how to take care of the piercings. Everything is super clean, comfy and relaxed. No pressure whatsoever. Throughout the healing process there were no issues at all and Im excited to come back for more piercings later. Thank yall again! :)

This was my first time here and I went and saw Benji for my piercing. He is very professional and was very informative. He advised me not to get a double navel piercing because it wouldn’t work for my anatomy- while somewhere else did it and it never healed. I ended up getting my 2nd helix instead and this was by far the best experience I’ve had over 12 piercings. The shop is very clean and I cannot say enough good things. Thank you!!

I had scheduled my tattoo and had my consultation months prior to my appointment and the design I wanted (second picture) was received and good to go . Upon showing up to my appointment ( months after consultation) Cici had completely changed the design of the dragon and it had only one single flower in the middle to which I said just take out the flower and I wanted the original dragon not the one she drew. I wasnt informed at all that she had changed the design and then I had to wait an hour for her to redraw the dragon and it still wasnt what I wanted; plus it completely lacked the details I wanted. At that point I didnt want to loose my deposit that I had already put down, so I just got the tattoo knowing I can later get it altered. If you take away all of that it was a very clean shop and the people were friendly. If you get a tattoo make sure you tell them to stick to what you want.

I had my nipples pierced there today, as well as have had two tattoos from them. Benji is very professional, informative, kept the atmosphere light and funny. He was a delight to have perform this service for me. Mal has done both of my tattoos and I love how both of them have turned out. Theyre also very friendly and make sure youre comfortable and happy with your service/design that you want. I definitely recommend to friends and family Unity Studio when they ask where I get my work done. Ive never had an issue or worry about going to them.

I will never go anywhere else. These people that work here make me feel like I have a second family. Camillia is an amazing artist, same with Mal. I’ve gone to both of them for all of my tattoos and I don’t want to go anywhere else. They’re both incredibly knowledgeable, kind, funny, and treat me super well. Not to mention, every single tattoo I’ve gotten from either of them is perfect to me, I love them. Plus, Benji is amazing as well. If you’re looking to get any piercing, he’s the one to go to. He tells you everything about cleaning the piercing, during he talks to you to help you relax. I also love the fact that when he pierces you, he usually says something like “I know, I suck”. I swear I usually end up laughing and then instantly forgetting I was just stabbed in the ear. I literally love everyone that works here, it’s an amazing place to go.

Only place I will go to for tattoos/piercings. If you’re into dark, creepy, or weird art, Camillia is the best in the area. She has done all of my tattoos and they all came out phenomenal!! She understands exactly what I’m looking for and always exceeds my expectations.

Unity Studio is THE place for piercings and fine jewelry. I’ve been pierced by both Mal (various ear) and Benji (double nostril) and can’t recommend them enough. The whole staff is so warm and welcoming and as excited about what I’m there for as I am!I drive 4 hours round trip because there’s nowhere else that makes me feel as comfortable and gives me the peace of mind knowing I’m getting the best quality service.

Just amazing, all around. I have been pierced and tattooed here, so has my husband. We both have more tattooing scheduled. Ive never had an artist genuinely concerned with the healing process and follow up on their work. I just love this place.Edit to add: Still amazing, still clean, still caring. Also compassionate, my husband passed and the memorial pieces Ive had done are phenomenal. Mals work is second to none.

I have always had a great experience at Unity. I have had microblading & piercing done here and just this weekend sat with Camillia for my first tattoo here. Unity staff is so friendly and the space is clean and sterile. I loved working with Camillia and loved that she was open about placement, and was so accommodating. I love my tatto, Camillia is a great artist and I cant wait to see her again for my next tattoo.

So most importantly they are clean and safe. Experienced on how to pierce a nostril, but I will say, I felt bullied about placement and was told just No. Without explanation, he even brought up at my follow up appointment he remembered arguing with me. Im not sure if he was having an off day, no real apology was offered. I used to love going to Mal for piercings, but they are focusing on tattoos now instead. Like I said, theyre safe and he did try to make it painless, I just wish he couldve been more personable or gave reasoning instead of just arguing. Would have been nice if they were perhaps more patient with me and not so brash and rude. I wish I wouldve left, but I was trying to enjoy my experience. They are also very very expensive, most of their jewelry Is of the highest quality, if you want to pay normal prices, they will have to dig for pieces out of a broken closet to find you jewelry at a reasonable price point. I think I paid $130 or so for one hole and one stud. The stud Id picked out was $380 originally, I believe its $85 for the piercing.

Everyone at Unity is so welcoming and friendly! From the moment you walk in you can tell that they are extremely clean and organized. They have a great selection of jewelry and Benji is a great piercer. He explained everything he was doing before hand and was thorough with after care instructions. Denise is an amazing artist and was able to capture each of my three dogs personalities in a custom painting. After following Denise on social media for a few years I finally decided to make an appointment for microblading and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I like how detail oriented she is and how she made sure that I was happy with my final result. I highly recommend Unity to all of my friends and family!

Went to Unity Studio to get some piercings done. Not my first piercings Ive had done and I can say its far better than other studios in Valparaiso. Everyone there was extremely kind, I was pierced by Benji and the piercings look great, super happy.

Unity is literally the best place in NW Indiana to get tattooed or pierced. In my two years of being a customer at Unity I have not one bad thing to say. My first time in was for my nostril piercing and I had the best experience with Mal. From the first moment I stepped into the studio I was greeted by the most welcoming people ever. The atmosphere is so serene and calming. When I got my tattoo from Camillia I was so at ease through the whole 8 hours I was tattooed and it was my first tattoo ever! Literally every one that works here is amazing and they’re so accommodating of your schedule and concerns. All the jewelry I have purchased from Unity is amazing and I show it off all the time. I’ve been thinking about getting my helix pierced for a while now but didn’t do it until a few days ago. One of my friends has been coming to Unity for 2 years now and always talked so highly about them for piercings and tattoos so when I finally did decide to get my helix pierced I knew I had to go to Unity! The staff was super friendly and welcoming and Benji is a great piercer! The studio was also super clean! Unity is the best! Denise, Mal, and the rest of their staff are talented, professional, and welcoming. Mal did my conch piercing, which I was nervous about for two reasons- the pain level and healing, since my skin is really sensitive. Mal walked me through all the steps of the piercing process, along with what I needed to do to make sure it healed properly. I have had it for a few years now and it healed perfectly without any issues- a rarity for my skin! I believe how well it healed had a lot to do with the high quality materials they use for piercing at Unity, as well as Mal’s next level piercing skills!! I’ve had one other piercing done at Unity, taken my mother-in-law there for an ear piercing, and bought jewelry from their beautiful collection. I cannot say enough good things about Unity Studio!

When I came in Friday for my Helix and Daith piercing, I was friendly, asking questions about the shop, talking with the piercer the entire time about music and my art. I really wanted to establish roots with a studio closer to my house like Unity... Unfortunately, my piercing experience has put a very sour taste in my mouth.I had been adamant about my hearing having disappeared after receiving a Daith piercing while in the studio and feel like I was not taken seriously. During my piercing, I was left unattended for a few mins while blood was pulling in my ear canal. They were adjusting things and went to grab a tool while I was still laying on my side with the sharp in my ear. Id asked the piercer to clean my ear out again as I still could not hear and Im still having trouble hearing now. They did not seem too concerned or seem like they were wanting to get to the bottom of this before I left.As I am a customer in the situation, I was referring to the professional asking if it could have been a nerve, a blood vessel, inflammation, or anything to explain my hearing loss or try to have a resolution before I left. I was told that they had never heard of someone losing hearing due to a Daith piercing and was dismissive of my concern and said it was probably a little blood. They seemed to care more about contaminating their workspace than figuring out this clear issue with me. I had asked to have them clean my ear out again but was instead was told to go home and clean it out... I drove 45 mins home and my ear was packed full of blood clots that could have been cleared away in the studio. Attached are pictures of some of the blood I got out when I arrived home.I am seeking medical help for my hearing and have messaged the studio about this experience. I was asking for help and guidance and left without being able to hear and worried.I am saddened because I liked the studios vibe and the interactions other than me asking for guidance on this and that I was left mid pierce and dismissed after clearly having an issue. I will not be back as I feel this could have been resolved in studio or attempted to be.*update*After calling that Friday, and Saturday, and messaging till monday... one of the studios owners got ahold of me after I left a review on Facebook, google, and yelp. I was looking for an Certified professional piercer to look at my ear and had an appointment with a ear doctor as my hearing was still not back.Denise ( co owner) and I had a conversation about the interaction and how dismissive the peircer was of something that is now a medical issue affecting my life. She explained they cant legally go in ears to clean them, and other details but it still dose not explaine why they where so dismissive.She offered to refund me and after our conversation, but even with that, I had to message them again as it did not go through the first time. I appreciate there effort to make things right but at the end of the day, I was an ideal customer that had an issue, and was not cared for by the professional I was interacting with.The doctor I saw got me on medication for the horrible ear infection from that much blood in my ear for more than an hour caused. The doctor explained and thinks they went to deep into the ear. I went to another shop and was told that it was indeed deeper than they would recommend, possibly causing some of my hearing issue.I will not be back as this nice cool thing I did to for myself turned into a nightmare and ongoing medical issue.*

The Unity team is absolutely amazing. They are all so knowledgeable and helpful with any questions you have. The studio is incredibly clean and you instantly feel at ease when walking in. Ive never had a piercing heal as well as the ones Ive gotten and Unity. The jewelry is top notch, and youll want to leave with at least 10 different pieces. The art work for sale in the shop is also so worth it to check out. They are all so incredibly talented.

Perri did a great job on my septum piercing. Im also always impressed by the level of hygiene Unity keeps, and everyone always makes you feel at home there.

Took my daughter to get her ears pierced, and also got an eyebrow piercing for myself. The front desk was AMAZING!! The piercing artist was so professional and calming. I have had piercings in the past, but NONE have been this pain-free, and trauma free!! The sanitary precautions were inpeciable. I would recommend this place for ANYONE from first time piercing to expert!! Overall AMAZINGLY positive experience!!! Great place!!!

I have been getting tattoos from Mal since 2016. Since opening the shop I have had several tattoos and piercing there. Every experience I have had has been amazing! The environment is clean and friendly. Their jewelry selection is the best I have found at any tattoo/piercing shop. Not only is the environment great, but their work is amazing and everyone there takes great pride in what they do, and it shows. They do excellent work and have excellent customer service. I purchased a beautiful gold nose ring, expensive, that broke a few days later after purchase. The studio gave me options and fortunately were able to send out the ring to have it fixed. If it was unable to be fixed in a timely manner they offered me store credit to purchase a new ring of that value. Its super clean and all of the employees are friendly and helpful. I will never go anywhere else. Benji is my new favorite human on the planet, so easy to talk to. I cant wait to have more piercings and tattoos done here. The only place Ill go! I drive 800 miles from North Carolina just to get work done by them. Ive been pierced and tattooed by Mal and tattooed by Jer. They are both insanely professional and talented. I’ve been going to Unity either for myself or for others for two and a half years and I’m so glad I chose this place for my tattoos and piercings! Everyone is so nice and easy to talk to and everything is SO clean. I’ve gotten four tattoos and eight piercings from Mal, and my wife has gotten two tattoos and five piercings as well. I’ve seen the way other places go about their work and nothing really compares, at all. Despite the hour and a half drive to Valpo, most of my friends have switched over to Unity for their body mods and comment on the differences between them and other places all the time!

Got my septum pierced today. They are so nice here! Mallory is awesome and Im so happy to be pierced by her. Everything is really clean and professional and they were really thorough with making sure everything was sterilized and I was informed on how to care for my piercing. Plus they seemed happy to help with all my many, many questions.I called around to a few places looking for rose gold jewelry (not realizing you cant put it in a new piercing). This was the only place that mentioned anything about anodizing. The rose gold color is so beautiful and looks even better than my real rose gold which I will now be replacing.The price was what they quoted me, no surprises, and a great deal for what they provide.I was also very happy that I was able to consult with Mallory about possible complications that might occur with me stretching my ears. I have two holes where there should be one. I was impressed with her knowledge and problem solving and am excited to return.Also I got to get pierced in a room with an Adventure Time poster : )

Unity is the most PROFESSIONAL place Ive ever been to for tattoos or piercings. I have 4 tattoos done by them and Ive gotten my last 3 piercings there as well. they are so beyond helpful when I come in and always point in the right direction when it comes to jewelry. they also will be honest and up front with you if your your anatomy will not work with the piercing you want, and that is respectable since most shops would pierce you anyways and act like that isnt the problem when you come back 3 weeks later with issues. this shop is full of the most amazing women Ive ever met and nobody should even hesitate when thinking about going to visit unity studio. 💗

Unity has really considerate and openminded people. They care about the people who walk in, and it really shows.I went in for a lip piercing and Benji was super chill and charismatic. He let me know in the kindest way possible that my previous piercing (which was done at a different shop) was angled wrong and would chip away at my bottom teeth if I left it in. The new lip piercing he did feels way more comfortable and hurts significantly less than the other one too. I took out the old one that was done incorrectly and, after it heals, im coming back here to get it redone properly.I absolutely recommend that people come to Unity even if it is a little more expensive than some other places nearby. Believe me, its more than worth it.

I cant express enough how much I was impressed with this place today. Mal did my piercings. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Mal doesnt just care about making a sale. She does an anatomy check to make sure the piercing is appropriate. In fact, Mal didnt pierce my friend because she said her body would reject it. The studio is extremely clean. Unity is hands down one of the best tattoo/piercing studios. Are they expensive? Sure. But the quality you receive makes it so worth it and Ive never had a problem with their jewelry. No chipping metal, easy application and removal of whatever piercing you get, and atleast some(maybe all? Id ask them) of their jewelry pieces have a warranty. And them tattoos! Everyone needs to go atleast once and experience and new type of the tattoo shop environment, you wont be mad. Unless youre a rude Karen.

Denise and Mal are the best in the region. Denise did microshading on my eyebrows and was very patient, professional and hilarious. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had with a business. I referred my friend Trish there as well to get the same procedure, and she had the exact same things to say. I would refer them over and over and over again. They even provided products for aftercare in addition to making sure that I was fully educated on the healing process before I left. Thanks Unity!

Unity is the only place I trust for piercings, and one of the very few I trust for tattoos. I’ve never once been disappointed by the services I’ve received from them - nine piercings and six out of my ten tattoos. I used to travel an hour and a half for this place, and I travel forty five minutes still. 100% worth it, I love this place.

Mal and Denise are absolutely amazing human beings. The space they have created is not only amazing clean but top notch in customer service. They are a small group of women who really care about the quality of their work and your experience. I have been pierced by Mal and have my eyebrows mircobladed by Denise. I recently travelled back from Michigan to get my eyebrows touched up after over a year. I will never be pierced by anyone else or let anyone touch my perfect brows!

The staff at Unity is always SUPER helpful and they’re down to earth so the vibe is good when you walk in. I haven’t stopped bragging about this place since I went in with my friend for a piercing the other night. Most studios give you one or two choices when it comes to piercing jewelry, there is an entire case to select from which is amazing because my piercing will take 9 months to heal. The piercer was beyond qualified and made the entire experience worth every penny. She took the time to explain the entire piercing process to my friend and I with precise measurements and was just incredibly thorough. I live 8 hours away and was just home visiting family but I will never go to another studio for a piercing again. Thanks for an amazing experience guys

Benji did two piercings for me and everyone here has helped educate me in such a pleasant manner about the wonderful world of piercings. Even with all the unfun stuff brought on by covid, the employees are extra careful about being clean and still very professional. Ive scheduled a few short appointments to shop and look at jewelry and just discuss piercings in general and everyones always pleasant to talk to and never make you feel like youre being rushed. Im still waiting on these piercings to heal, and Benji has been so patient and helpful throughout the process, and hes super easy to talk to. Im so happy with my piercings and the quality of jewelry, I just want to keep coming back and picking up a new piercing with each visit lol. I wont because its not responsible, but still tempting.

Got a few piercings done years ago and have since followed these guys to their new shop at unity! Amazing customer service. Went in to have a septum checked out I mistakenly got at another shop and come to find out my nose isnt even able to be pierced in the spot the other guy did it in due to the way my nose is. The ring kept flipping upwards and got infected. They helped remove it and gave me tips on how to heal it up! If you buy a new piece of jewelry they will help you put it in if you do not know how. Theyre always there to help and give professional advice. Any time i stop by i am welcomed with open arms. WILL NOT go anywhere else EVER again.

I havent actually visited the studio, since I live on another continent, but whenever I wanted to buy Diablo Organics jewellery (which are not accessible from the country I live in), I always wrote to Denise. Absolutely sharp and clear shipment, I evan got stickers and a super cool holo T-shirt and of course the true warmth Denise treated me with, evan though Im a total stranger from one ocean away. But! I chequed their work on social media and they work amazing. Beautiful unique old school/new school drawings and tattoos. 👌👌👌 Absolutely on point! Cece did my mom memorial tattoo and I was very anxious that it would be exactly what I wanted. The staff here is amazing friendly and every educated and knowledgeable of their craft. I had an appointment with CeCe today was the longest tattoo session Ive ever had. She made me feel welcome and comfortable the whole time. CeCe is very professional and you can tell she loves what she does through her passion and any art related and especially in her artwork. I came in with a design and she hands down killed it. She added to the design with brought the thing together. This was a cover-up and you cant even tell there is anything underneath. The ONLY place to go for piercings. I have went to countless other places on the account that they were cheap. NEVER will I go anywhere else. Not only is their jewelry incomparable to anything else that I’ve ever seen (especially love the flat backs on all pieces - especially for ears bc being a side sleeper I always end up getting stabbed) but the friendliness of the staff is also incredible. Sometimes I joke that I want to come there just to hang out with the staff (Pre-COVID life) 😂 beyond impressive piercings & jewelry. Every single piercing I have gotten done somewhere else has ended up infected or rejected. NOT HERE! Nothing of the sort. They even do anatomy checks to see if your body part(s) are even able to have the certain piercing.Onto tattoos... I have had two tattoos done by Camilia (formerly CiCi) and she is amazing! Light handed, beautiful tattoos, and easy to talk to while sitting for multiple sessions & multiple hours.I cannot say enough amazing things about their quality, in all aspects. Love this place & will be a lifelong customer.

After a bad experience at ASG, Malory took the time to remove my piercing and clean up my ear. She did not charge me at all for this, which really makes me feel like Unity cares about me as a person and doesnt just want my money. It was a mistake to get tattooed and pierced anywhere else, and I will absolutely return for my next tattoos and piercings!

CLEAN! I came in today for a couple peircings after I heard by word of mouth that this was the best place to get piercings. Now I see why. My experience was very very nice and extremely professional. I cant go anywhere else now, because I only want the best, and I found that here.This place has the added benefit of being extremely affordable. I used to commute to Chicago and am familiar with various different pricing and quality. My piercings today were of equal if not better quality than what my close friend got in Chicago and were less than half the price. They also were very accommodating with my schedule and took me in the day after I came in to schedule an appointment. This place is a highlight of NWI and the cherry on top is being owned and operated by women. In a prodimenently male career field, I find it personally inspiring to come across a well-managed business run by successful women.

I went here yesterday morning (Wednesday) for a piercing. I was told that they were out of “nose posts.” Not sure what that is but I wasn’t able to get my nose pierced. I choose this place because of all the great reviews and did a lot of research before coming to this place. I looked at their Facebook page as well. If for any period of time you are not able to perform an advertised service, let people know. I was really inconvenienced that day. I arrived early, waited for them to open, came on a day walk-ins were accepted, only to be told we can’t do it. The lady/girl offered to call me back when they arrived in. I would have loved to have the same experience that everyone else had, but I did not. Maybe I will give them a try in the future. They could have put it on their Facebook page or website because I would have seen it there.

Ive gotten 2 piercings done by Benji & I couldnt ask for a better experience. He has been awesome. I will definitely continue to go to him for my piercings!

This small studio is not a place to hang out. The walls arent papered floor to ceiling with a thousand tattoo designs. This is the place to go for custom body art and fine exotic jewelry. The artists are respected professionals with full calendars.

Walked in, very awkward atmosphere.... Super quiet. When we got the artist out to discuss options, it seemed like he didn’t care.
