Kevin did an incredible job. I got my first tattoo with my dad and everyone there treated us so friendly and professionally. The environment was clean and friendly. We cannot say enough good things about our experience and our tattoos came out amazing.

Got this done by Cole like 2 weeks ago. It was a good price, pretty quick, barely any pain, and most importantly I loved how it looked in the end. It was a great first tattoo experience and Ill definitely be back.

I got my back tattoo done here. Over all the service was great! They were friendly and focused, very considerate. Though at the end they were rushing. I’m not sure why or what was going on. But in result they forgot to do a line in the top. There are 4 at the bottom and 3 at the top when they are supposed to be identical. Would I return? Yes but with caution. Solely because this is permanent. But other than that I am in love with my tattoo.

What a great experience for my 1st tattoo -already scheduled another! Super friendly and talented staff with a comfortable, clean space. Deanna was simply amazing from her artwork to her personality and gentle technique. You wont be disappointed!

I took my daughter for her first tattoo. Deanna was so kind and patient with her. The tattoo is in memory of my father and is similar to the one I had gotten several months ago. Deanna does wonderful work! Shes such an amazing artist and is a great human too!

Super welcoming vibes and a fun place to sit while receiving some killer art! I brought a very broad idea to Deanna and she absolutely delivered! Everyone there was very friendly and made my husband and me feel very comfortable. I cant stress enough how relaxed we felt the entire time. Not only am I looking to my next piece, but my tattoo-less husband is already looking forward to booking for himself as well!

Amazing shop, got started on a pretty large and heavy black cover up piece by Brett. I cannot explain how happy I am with the progress so far. He went above and out of his way to accommodate and get as much done in one sitting as possible. The entire shop is friendly and warm, cant wait to go back and get the next session.

I cant thank this business enough for taking care of my Dad. It was his first one! Not only is the piece dont exceptionally, but making him feel comfortable. I owe yall a fruit basket. Umbrella Ink is doing a great job of walking the thin line between safety and hospitality through these transitional times. I went in last week for my first tattoo work in five years. The shop is homelike with cushioned seating and original art on the walls, but they create a sterile field in there for every client.Kevin worked out my design with me, through several drafts. He didnt pick up the equipment until he knew exactly what I wanted, and thats what I got. We laughed and talked through the session. The music was great, too. Ill be back.

I went in for a consult with Deanna for a very sad goofy cover up, gave her some ideas of what I was looking for we set an appointment for about 3 weeks later. I have to say she was right on point! Love this place..everyone was EXTREMELY friendly, from the guy up front to the tattoo artists. Damien did my girlfriend and I’s equality tattoos and we’re in love with them!! It was our first tattoos and he went through everything and made sure we were comfortable. Also glad he explained the whole after care process as well. Very small shop but it’s also very inviting and comfy. Very clean and we are so glad we picked this shop. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to tattoos people! Well worth it. Will definitely be back!

I honestly picked this shop out of random with my best friend. We got matching tattoos, it was my first. Damien did them and he was awesome. Super sweet made sure I was comfortable and calmed me down whenever I almost went into a panic attack because I was so scared. He asked me about my dogs to get my mind off of it and everything. Very awesome, will be back for future tattoos❤️❤️

This place was the absolute bomb! If I could it more than 5 stars, I totally would. A few of my friends and I made an impulsive decision to get tattoos together and we were looking for the right spot and Umbrella Ink was it. They were kind enough to get us in at the last minute for appointments and a total of 4 of us were able to get the ink we had been wanting to get for a long while. The staff was kind and courteous and the location was clean and sanitized appropriately. Should I have the urge to get another tattoo while in Valpo, I’ll be coming back here 100%!

This is honestly one of the most legit shops you’ll ever come across. The owner Kevin is one of the most friendliest, funniest, talented, easy-going tattoo artist you can ever work with. The shop just feels nostalgic, it’s on the smaller side but doesn’t have that overwhelming feel that some tattoo shops have. You feel like can hang out there all day. You pay for quality and free touch ups for life while at the same time not getting ripped off. I’ve been coming to this shop and getting tattooed here since 2011 and I’ve been to many other shops and artists and I always find myself coming back to Umbrella Ink.

Kevin did a great job on my tattoo! He is wildly talented and professional. I would highly recommend this place! My wife and I both got tattoos here and would advise you to do the same!

Started coming here late 2015. My girlfriend introduced me to Kevin and instantly we became friends. Not only did I love his work he just made me feel welcome and comfortable. I met Mary a few months later and felt the same welcoming feeling Kevin showed me from her. She always has awesome ideas to add to the mix when youre deciding on design. I love umbrella and all the people in it.

My fiance and I came in today and got tattoos from Emilio. The shop was very clean, and everyone was very polite. Great atmosphere, and (me being so into music like I am) some great music playing in the shop. When we left, we both mentioned how much we liked it there an how we would gladly go back for our next tattoos. I had gotten my other tattoos at culture shock in valpo, and the second one (both done by different artists) is horrible. The colors faded and the lines are so broken and terrible looking. Im confident that will not be an issue with umbrella. Great place. Great people.

Awesome experience! My first tattoo in quite some time and the entire staff made me feel very comfortable. The shop is very clean and Kevin delivered exactly what I asked for. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to get some work done!

Damien did amazing work. He and another employee spent almost a half hour rearranging and manipulating my design until it was exactly right, and the result is beautiful. The shop is very clean, and I would absolutely get more work done here.

5 Stars for the job Brett did tattooing my husband.1 star for Cole C. bailing on his appt I made for my husband as a Father’s Day/Bday gift after asking around for recommendations and doing research. Not cool man.My husband didn’t care but it felt like a waste of my time.

I was a customer opening day of Umbrella Ink for photography which Mary performed flawlessly. Since then I watched as Mary educated her Facebook following about what goes behind good Tattoo services (health standards etc...) finally, I decided to get my first tattoo. Mary drew exactly the design I wanted and Kevin executed it flawlessly. The colors are vibrant, and the lines sharp. I cant imagine better results.

I oh so badly want to give this place five stars, I oh so badly wish I could say I have a wonderful piece of art on my body from this tattoo parlor, but that is not the case. I have never been somewhere so unprofessional in my life. First, I arrived to schedule an appointment to get a sleeve done (or at least get one started). When I arrived it took about fifteen minutes for someone to even acknowledge my existence. Finally, a young man came from the back and we began to talk. I showed him photos/pictures of everything I wanted to get done, had prints of everything for the tattoo artist to work with, etc. (he seemed a bit indifferent, so I should have taken that as a red flag right there) We made an appointment about a month and a half from that date and another two weeks after that to finally get the tattoo I wanted, I paid the fee, and went on my way. Well, a month and a half goes by and its finally the day to get my tattoo.When I arrive, again, took a while for someone to even acknowledge I was there. They were a bit busier this time, so not a big deal. I then proceed to tell them I have an appointment to get my tattoo. The man looks at the computer and tells me they have NONE of my photos/pictures of what I wanted. He looks for the paperwork and NOTHING. He had absolutely nothing prepared. He then asked me to go and print out some more photos. I was confused because what did it matter if he had nothing prepared after a month and a half? was he just going to wing an entire sleeve? I took it as a bad omen and walked out that door and found another place to get my tattoo. Im sure their work is very nice, but if you cant get your business in order, take it as a red flag and find somewhere else.

Umbrella ink gets it done. They know there stuff. Great artists. They know what you want and deliver. Emilio my man is great published artist, and a color tattoo master. Kevin the owner is a well versed tattoo God. And Scotty is the best up comer tattoo genius. Try them out you wont be disappointed.

I just got my first tattoo this week after a bad break up. And what I can say is I was nervous and anxious about it. But I’m so glad I went and I thank Lui for his hospitality and kind heart.❤️ He did a wonderful job. He helped me turn a bad day into a positive one. Definitely will be going back.

The person up front didnt tell me what I needed to bring, as a minor, so I had to have my birth certificate brought to the parlor which delayed the appointment. Also, I experienced a fairly bad ink blowout, which another artist told me about even after I sent a photo of my healed tattoo to Mary. She never mentioned anything though I voiced my concern about it; she said everything looked fine. Ink blowouts are caused by poor technique. It also does not match the design that the stencil was taken from, which is kind of baffling. Later I was told that Umbrella Ink is not a reputable place for tattoos. I wish I would have known before I got mine done!

Umbrella Ink is by far the best tattoo shop in the area. Very professional, very sanitary, and very friendly environment. Mary D is the queen of black-work and traditional style tattooing and Kevin Coles attention to detail is rivaled by no other. I am a regular in their shop, along with many of my close friends, and we all swear by Kevins and Marys skill and will be continuing to return to Umbrella Ink. If you find yourself looking to get some ink, Umbrella Ink should be your first choice!

Umbrella Ink is my go-to shop since living back in Indiana! The owners are awesome, Ive had work done by Kevin, Cole, and Lui, and Im astounded by them all. Highly, highly recommend this shop!

Went in for a tattoo, told the artist what I wanted, they had a week to draw it. Called me an hour& a half b4 the appointment wanting a picture. I told them from the get go I wanted them to draw it, not a photo to copy. And they didnt call the right phone number, called me, didnt leave a message instead of calling my wife who the tattoo was for when they took her # also. Isnt the point of a tattoo originality? Not copying. All that for a $20 deposit when they did nothing

The lady upfront is so rude. I was disappointed with the place as soon as I walked in. No one greeted me and there was not much of a friendly atmosphere. The lady taking my name was condescending and seemed bothered I was even there. I ended up going to A.S.G. Tattoo in Valpo instead and Im so glad I did. Much more friendly, amazing job, and the actual artist came out to talk to me about what I wanted.

I got my first tattoo today from Umbrella ink and I have to say I love it. The pricing was excellent, the staff was friendly and I feel like Im only ever going to get a tattoo from Umbr ella. Light handed and efficiant, Umbrella tattoo has an A-plus in my book. :)

Umbrella ink is the Premier Boutique tattoo shop of Northwest Indiana. From the time you come in the door to make your initial appointment till the time you leave after getting your fantastic tattoo you are literally treated like family. If you claim theres a better tattoo shop in Northwest Indiana I will call you a liar and I will fight you.

I got a tattoo here about 5 years ago..So a late review but just wanted to say mine is a circular line work and was done perfectly and has aged perfectly. Great work..

The guy tattooing my moms foot showed up 15 minutes late didnt apologize or even greet us, he proceeded to smoke a cig then go in side and we followed he wasnt rude but he wasnt nice, he did not do what my mom asked for and he messed the sizing on the names which were traced on, so it should be a pretty simple task to follow lines, and he did not color the flower in like my mom wanted, felt dirty in there , would not recommend going there if you wanted a good tattoo.

I went in and they did a amazing job! I had louie, and he was quick and on point! I will be going back hopefully soon for another appointment!

Extremely helpful in doing a cover up tattoo that other shops did not want to do. Great work. Getting more soon.
