I’ve been to Brilliance piercing twice now and both times I was so happy with my experience! First time I saw Valerie who helped me with my lobes piercings which were having some issues (got them somewhere else).They were great and fixed me right up and made it so painless! The second time I saw Jen for my septum piercing and she made me feel so comfortable and made the process so easy! Everyone there is so so nice and the place is very very clean! Will definitely be back in the future! ☺️

Staff need training on how to handle clients. Very mean. There are no price tags or ranges on piercings and asked for the price and responded to a very rude and felt like dont want to work. We arrived 5 minutes earlier and she asked us to wait in the car. How still run a business with these customer services. Piercer is skilled and great.

Loved this place so much. I was at first a little confused by all of the rules regarding appointments, but when I got there I was beyond impressed. It was like entering a sterile doctor’s office instead of a tattoo shop (where I feel a little out of place tbh). Everything was clean, organized, and sterile. The piercer helped me choose which stud would look best and was patient and personable. I highly recommend them.

Love this place. Valerie is amazing. They did conch piercings on both of my ears, as well as flat piercings on both ears. Great inventory of lovely, high quality jewelry, and great customer service. Each visit is a pleasure. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A very comfortable, inclusive, professional space. Highly recommend!

I LOVE this place so much!!! Everyone is amazing and so knowledgeable. They make you feel very safe and explain everything in detail. If you have any aside with your piercing, they will help you figure out the issue with ease. They also have an amazing jewelry selection too. The jewelry ranges from affordable to expensive, so everyone can walk out with something that they absolutely love. You really need to go to this place if you haven’t been already.

Wow! amazing experience coming in for a shopping appointment. I loved the appointment only experience, I didnt feel rushed at all. They were SOO helpful, holding jewelry up to me and helping me narrow it down. They also answered a lot of questions about jewelry and helped me make sure my current post was the right size, etc. The selection was absolutely gorgeous, so many options with a great range of prices. Everything was fairly priced. Facility was very clean, cute, and had parking. Definitely will be back, especially if I ever want a new piercing! Thanks again.

I just had a great experience at Brilliance Piercing. My consultant advised me on placement weeks before my appointment and when I arrived, they talked me through the entire process. The facility is immaculate and very peaceful. No pressure, no distractions - just quality service. A well-deserved 5 stars.

Tobias was a huge help with troubleshooting my piercing. They were very caring when physically manipulating my piercing as well. The entire shop is beautiful and has high quality jewelry. Will definitely be back.

My daughter received her first piercings in 2018 from Jen. It was a great experience for her, as a child, and she had no issues afterwards. She has been asking for second piercings and there was no question we would go back to Jen. We were able to schedule an appointment, almost 2 months in advance, but it was well worth the wait!Yesterday, was another wonderful experience from the moment we stepped inside. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and there was a great selection of jewelry to choose from. My daughter, who was a little nervous, was able to grab a stress ball which was a great addition to her experience. When we were able to go back with Jen, she was easy to talk to and communicated every step very clearly, which put my daughter at complete ease. Everything from start to finish was perfect. We highly recommend Brilliance Piercing!

So so satisfied with my experience getting pierced here! About four months ago, I got the same piercing done incorrectly by a different piercer, so I was a bit nervous to get it done again. Tobias (and the nice person with the pink and blue hair, dont know their name) was super friendly, professional, cleanly, and kind. I felt super comfortable here and the price of the service and jewelry was very reasonable considering quality!update: its fully healed (? or close to it) and its only been nine months! wonderful and easy healing process and i was able to reach out to them via dm to make sure everything was going well as this is my first (technically second) cartilage piercing. I went back a few months later and got my nipples done by Jen and that was a wonderful experience too. Everyone there has a good grasp on consent which is super important! Always made sure I was comfortable & my nipples are healing well, too. Going back this month for more!

I had the perfect experience here getting my conch pierced. The folks I interacted with were friendly and incredibly helpful, especially for someone indecisive about placement and jewelry. Also, their jewelry selection is hands-down the best Ive seen in the area. So many gorgeous pieces to choose from! Above all else, though, the space is clean and the piercer, Tobias, was wonderful about providing education/tips and walking me through the process itself. They even helped me easily resolve a piercing issue done by someone else. Cant wait to go back!

Wonderful ear piercing/ styling appointment. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Valerie took their time to help me select jewelry to complement my existing piercings, and meticulously mapped out the locations of my new piercings to suit my ear anatomy. I got my helix pierced from Valerie at the studio. It was truly a phenomenal experience. All the staff I interacted with were very friendly, warm, and welcoming. I was pretty nervous going in and they all immediately put my mind at ease. The studio is so charming, the jewelry selection is huge - they have a fantastic selection in a variety of styles, colors, and materials for whatever suits your need and budget. Valerie was amazing! They walked me through the entire process, helped me with my vision for transitioning to a hoop earring once the piercing heals, and thoroughly explained the aftercare process, as well as next steps for downsizing my piercing later on. I had an extremely pleasant experience with them as my piercing artist. They also provided me with a goodie bag with a full bottle of saline spray and helpful information on taking care of my piercing, as well as details on how long healing will take. I HIGHLY recommend Brilliance Piercing. Excellent experience here.

Fantastic visit today! The staff were all so kind. Valerie was so professional and thoughtful. They explained every step of the process, took time to get placement just right and took into account complications I have from allergies and previous scarring. The jewelry selection is top notch, many different styles and metals available to suit anyones taste. I couldnt have asked for a better outcome or experience!

I love this studio! Years ago I got a conch piercing here and it healed beautifully with no issues. Today, I shopped for new jewelry and had a wonderful experience picking out earrings with Tobias, who is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The studio is super hygienic, and the jewelry selection is huge and high quality. All pros, zero cons.

Brilliance Piercing is an incredibly clean and organized facility with a wide variety of jewelry options. The atmosphere was super relaxing. Tobias was very knowledgeable and friendly, and their presence was very calming. I appreciated the time that they spent making sure I was satisfied with the location of the piercings and walking me through each step of the piercing process. That made getting multiple piercings at once an absolute breeze.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience getting 3 ear piercings with Tobias! They spent 15 minutes with me going over jewelry options because I was truly clueless about what I wanted, and spent an additional 10 minutes adjusting the piercing markers to ensure I was happy with them. The studio was incredibly clean. Additionally, they were able to “repierce” an old lobe piercing that I didn’t know was still open, saving me a piercing charge. A very enjoyable experience for two piercings I was beyond nervous about. Tobias was clear, supportive, concise, and they didn’t judge all my dumb questions and wave of emotions. The placement of the piercings are perfection. I follow a Reddit sub that has many a photos and stories about piercing experiences and I can confidently say they Brilliance Piercing is a top tier, classy, clean, and professional establishment. I can’t imagine a better opportunity.

GREAT double helix piercing experience with Tobias. All staff were friendly and professional, offered helpful suggestions, and process was seamless thanks to their clear instructions and prompt service. Tobias made the actual piercing process very easy, and did a beautiful job with the placement. They also have the best jewelry selection I have seen.It is a long haul for me to get to their location, you definitely have to book ahead since they fill up fast, and it may be pricier than other locations. But, definitely worth it for the quality of the experience and the product.

I cannot brag about my experience enough. I haven’t had a piercing in over 10 years so I was curious about the process of getting a double conch piercing. The booking process was easy, simple and convenient. There’s ample parking & the address is easy to find. The entire space, front to back is clean. The jewelry selection is expansive with a range of metals, stones and styles. The team was so helpful in getting me a design that is complimentary to my ear while also being mindful of my individual style. The piercing process was swift yet thorough & Tobias explained the aftercare yeahs practical yet fits into my existing life. Truly enjoyed my experience and look forward to coming back for more!

I got a few cartilage piercings in Richmond and my ear became extremely swollen and painful. Brilliance Piercing was super responsive and kind when I contacted them multiple time for help. They saw me right away both times. Tobias was able to see the issues quick from the stud shape, to placement, to the ear anatomy. He is very knowledgeable and patient. We ended up having to remove the snug piercing as it nested in the skin and he clearly communicated and explained the entire process. Thank you for all the help!!

I’ve been coming to Brilliance Piercing for two yers for my piercing & jewelry needs. I tried another place, and came right back! Customer service is top notch. Jewelry options & quality is mesmerizing. Piercers are highly knowledgeable and nice. They will assess if the piercing & jewelry is appropriate. If you are stuck, they provide excellent feedback. Highly recommended 👌🏼

Jen was amazing and sociable during the whole experience. My main concern is the pricing of her jewelry, and also her concern for the jewelry piece size. I came in to have my naval pierced and I expressed my concerns with metal allergies. (I learned the hard way I can only wear pure gold jewelry through having my ear lobes done as a child!) She recommended a titanium piece, saying I would not react to it since it was not surgical steel and I most likely reacted to the nickel in jewelry. (Which is completely correct!)After about four months after having my naval done, it wasn’t healing but didn’t seem to be infected either. The top of the jewelry piece was extremely small and a flat disc about the same diameter as the bar in the middle of the piece and began to form a pressure would (almost blister like) and the top disc was so tiny my piercing actually began to fall through since the top hole expanded a little due to my body rejecting the titanium because, like I expressed to her, it was not gold. But her gold pieces were already extremely expensive and I trusted her word on the titanium alternate to stay in budget. I ended up changing my jewelry to a fully gold piece with a ball on top a few days ago and the healing process has finally begun. I sent Jen an email earlier in the week with my concerns but got no response. I am extremely disappointed because I enjoyed my visit so much. I ended up spending a lot on a piece my body rejected and almost risked losing the piercing as a whole.Update: I had to remove the jewlery (my naval was shifting and pushing it out) and allow the wound to heal. I am upset I spent so much and trusted the choice of jewlery. My body fully rejected the piercing due to it not being healed with a gold piece. I had to remove the peircing after 5 months of painful attempted healing. Extremely disappointed.

I was worried about my recent lobe piercings closing over after not wearing something in them for a few days. Brilliance came recommended to me, I sent an email, got response within the same day and was lucky to get an appointment the same week. The staff was so knowledgeable, open and sweet. I worked with Jen, specifically, and she helped me solve my issue quickly and at a good price. Definitely recommend.

I came here in July 2022 to downsize a helix piercing down by a different shop that I didn’t feel comfortable going back to. I made an appointment, went in, and had a lovely experience. No judgment from the people in the front or from the piercer, Tobias, that ended up downsizing the jewelry.At this point, I’ve been in multiple times — whether for troubleshooting cartilage piercings to getting new piercings and figuring out a look that suits my anatomy. Tobias, Jen, Elizabeth, and the rest of the team have all been lovely to work with (even when I thought my forward helix was healed after 7 months and safe to add my own jewelry in and…well…it wasn’t). I also appreciate their Covid protocols as well as the safe, clean, bright space. If I could give them more stars, I would. Safe to say, I’ll be back!

(Wait until the end!!!😁) There was this one staff member who wasn’t the nicest, she was in fact a little rude — you know, didn’t ask “How are you? What kind of jewelry are you looking for?”you know the nice kinda stuff that’s polite to ask to a customer, especially a first-timer at that piercing studio. I felt pressured to pick a piece of jewelry for my rook piercing because the lady was staring at me the whole time and wouldn’t move from right in front of the jewelry case. So I was pressed and said “the blue one”. But when my piercer, Jen, came out from her last appointment, she was able to help me pick out the perfect jewelry, which she said that the blue one that I had picked out matched my blue eyes and made me stand out. And I totally agree! I wasn’t pleased with the other lady’s attitude, but Jen definitely made my day! Jen gave me a rook piercing on my left ear and a fourth piercing on both of my ear lobes. I was so excited but also scared, but she was able to walk me through each step. After I got my rook piercing done, it hurt a lot so I was nervous to get my fourth piercing. But she gave me an ice pack to put on my neck to make the heat cool down. I was able to push through to get my the fourth piercing on one of my ears (the same one as the rook was on), but now my anxiety was so high. She asked if it was okay to ONLY get ready and put the needle near my ear in the right place but not pierce my ear yet, and I said yes. “I trust her. She’s the professional and she knows what she’s doing.” Is all that I kept saying and repeating in my head. I was trying to calm myself down because I knew that I couldn’t leave the piercing studio with only one pierced ear. At this point my appointment was like fifteen minutes over but she didn’t mind. I kept trying to calm myself down and she was just bent down, by my ear, with the needle against my ear, for I’m not kidding LITERALLY TEN MINUTES, at least. I’m so surprised that someone would actually be okay with that. She kept encouraging me and saying “Once we do it, you’ll be done and then you can go and celebrate!” She was the sweetest person I’ve ever met and she was SUPER PATIENT. I love Brilliance Piercing because you can select which staff member you want to pierce you. I love that concept. I love that they have a picture of each staff member and a paragraph just about them and pictures of piercings that they’ve performed before. It helps to know, who you would probably get along with the best, and who seems like you would be the most comfortable with. So I went with Jen because in her bio it said that she is able to calm people and walk them through the process of the piercing that they’re going to get. And she did just that. She told me what jewelry would look good with my ear shape, eye color, and complexion. She was honest, patient, and kind. And that’s what I look for in someone who takes a needle to my skin. Thank you so much Jen for the incredible experience! And I hope to come back soon!

I went in for a last minute piercing checkup for a piercing that was done by another place. I met with Tobias and they were very knowledgeable and helped me feel at ease right away! I wish I had found them sooner and had them initially do my piercings but I will be back once my piercings heal so I can change them out!

I work down the street from Brilliance and wanted to finally get pierced again since the start of pandemic, so I decided to check them out! Was able to score an appointment slot so I got a pair of nipple piercings done by Tobias about 3 months ago and they’re healing BEAUTIFULLY. Tobias was so professional and thoroughly explained everything they were doing during my appointment, and they helped me feel a lot more comfortable/less nervous!I also really appreciate their COVID-related store policies; the appointment-based system ensures you’re the only client in the studio and their text-based system for pick-up is so efficient. It made me more comfortable than other piercing studios in the area which is a big reason why I went to Brilliance Piercing. The jewelry is also high quality and I’m so excited to book a styling appointment soon when I save up some money!

Went here for my very first piercing(s) after a lot of research. They have quite the waitlist right now, but I do not regret my choice to wait for them. Body modification is not to be taken lightly, no matter how minor, and if you want a piercer who respects proper process as well as the person being pierced, Jen will take wonderful care of you.I was quite nervous to get pierced; could barely sleep the night before. But Jen really set my mind at ease. She walked me through the process every step of the way so I knew exactly what she was doing and when she was doing it, even asking my permission every time she needed to touch me (which meant a lot to me as someone with sensory issues).By the end of her explanation, I was so calm that I barely even felt the actual poke. The shop also has a lot of options for quality titanium and 14k gold studs for new piercings (I *love* mine!), which are precisely what you want for a new piercing to have the best chance of healing cleanly and properly.To top if off, Brilliance is an inclusive and welcoming space for LGBT folks. Theyre required to get your legal name for documentation purposes, but all of their paperwork asks for the name one goes by + their preferred pronouns, which are how everyone in the shop referred to me the entire time I was there.A great experience front to back. Would *highly* recommend.

Jen runs an amazing piercing shop. She is welcoming, competent and delightful to work with. Her store is exceptionally clean and decorated to promote a professional and calm environment. She carries a wide variety of jewelry and hardware from amazing artists. The piercing process was quick, sterile and very well discussed with us in detail. I really enjoyed getting to know her and was impressed with how lovely her shop is! I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for piercings - children or adults. She is excellent.

Got my first earlobe piercings here. Staff was kind, sweet, welcoming, and understanding. The place was clean and filled with all kind of jewelry for piercings which I found impressive. I think needles are safer than using piercing gun from what people have told me . It is expensive compared to going Claires but I feel like the price was worth it. Jen is amazing. Even though I am an adult, I was obviously nervous about getting pierced for the first time- she treated me well. I will definitely come back for future piercings.

I’ve had both Jen and Tobias pierce my ears and have loved my experience every single time! From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out you feel comfortable and confident!! They walk you through the entire process, from ear mapping, to jewelry selection to the piercing itself and the entire healing process. If you’re planning to get multiple piercings they make sure that is taken into consideration and well thought out before anything is done. They are by appointment only, which is so great! Had a fantastic experience here! I worked with Valerie and they were lovely, happy to provide recommendations and at the same time didn’t make me feel pressured at all to chose something that I didn’t love. I would venture to say their process is pretty trauma-informed, Valerie verbally walked me through each step, letting me know what they were up to as we went through the process so there were no surprises. Beautiful pieces to chose from and I will be going back!

I had an amazing experience getting my septum pierced by Jen about a month ago. The whole place is clean, professional, and beautiful! The vibe is almost like a spa, light blue themed and bright. Lots of free parking too :)Jen is a member of the Association of Professional Piercers, so she knows what shes doing and is very clean and explains every step and is always checking in to see how youre doing. She helped me pick out jewelry that would be easy to flip up for work and explained all how to do it. When I had a question a few days after piercing, Jen answered my email promptly. When I had questions before getting pierced, she also answered all my email questions.Definitely get the saline wipes! They have been incredibly helpful for cleaning my piercing when I last minute need to flip it.I cant recommend this place enough. Its over an hour drive for me, but completely worth it.

I had a great piercing experience today with Tobias. I appreciate the store’s COVID safety protocols and how they limit the number of customers in the foyer. I found two earrings they I really liked (from numerous options) and Tobias really took his time in helping me decide the placement of the earrings. Highly recommend. Worth the 2 month wait😊

Person at the front desk was very rude. Didnt even greet when letting me in; just looked me up and down. They then rudely asked, Oh, were looking for more than one piece now? Like, dude your records of the intense paperwork I had to fill out shows that I came in looking for multiple pieces of jewelry. Do your job. Read. I didnt wait 3 months for a mere jewelry change just to be guilt-tripped by someone whos unhappy where they are. Disgusting. If it wasnt for Tobias, I wouldnt have gotten anything. Hes very knowledgeable and patient.

I had a wonderful experience here! Everything was very clean and they have a wonderful selection of jewelry. Jen took time to make sure I was happy with the placement of my piercings. By the second day, I wasnt in any pain. I highly recommend Brilliance.

First of all my ear looks amazing! Thank you to Jen! She is very knowledgeable about piercings. She walked me through each of my piercings ( forward helix, conch) and explained how she was going to pierce the area. I was a little nervous but she made me feel at ease. Jen and her employee were very welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend anyone looking to get curated ears to come here. I drove over an hour and it was worth it!

Jen is great! She is one of the only people I could find in northern VA who is APP (Assoc for Professional Piercers) certified. She uses sterile technique, she uses high quality jewelry, she explains everything at multiple levels. I took one daughter for her second lobe piercing and she loved Jen. I took another daughter for a cartilage piercing and she loved her. Her storefront is immaculate and welcoming. I spoke to her 4 separate times prior to our piercings and she was friendly, patient and helpful each time. I would recommend her without hesitation!Adding to this review that 4 weeks post piercings, no complications. Post-care was simple and required no twisting of earrings, just daily rinsing with water in the shower.

I got a rook piercing in December 2019 and I have to say that I was blown away! The shop was clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There was an amazing jewelry selection for all price ranges. Jen, who did my piercing and swapped out my nose jewelry for me, was very kind, professional, and extraordinarily skilled. 10/10, the best piercing studio in the area!

I have been pierced by both Tobias and Jenn several times each. Each time (contrary to thought when getting a needle shoved through skin), I have felt at ease and comfortable in the shop. They always indulge my hemming and hawing over what jewelry to choose. Both are honest about what piercings are realistic for me to get when it comes to anatomy. Every piercing Ive gotten has healed wonderfully, and the only issues Ive had have been my fault alone.I will never go anywhere else!

What an extremely positive experience! My first piercing and I found Jen to be super informative, really personable and open to answering all questions. Her shop was immaculate and had a great vibe. I was comfortable from the first step to the very end. I also thought pricing, including jewelry, was really reasonable.

A hidden gem! Brilliance is clean and inviting. Jen is phenomenal. She takes her time and works with you to get you exactly what you want. Not pushy and truly genuine. After great hesitation and anxiety due to factors about piercings in general like sanitary, pain and aesthetics, I finally mustered my courage to get my nose pierced from Jen. I did my homework and researched many places and their reviews and settled for Jen after reading her stellar reviews. And I can tell you - I found every word to be true and then some. Jen has an immaculate place, is passionate about her work and profession and it shows in her business, her patience, her high standards of hygiene and her work. I got my nose pierced on 1/12 and the process was smooth painless and it has healed beautifully. I highly recommend her and have already referred her to many of my friends.

Jen is so skilled, professional, and welcoming. I have over 10 piercings from various places but none of them compare to my experience at brilliance. Its so bright and clean, and she is patient and the jewelry selection is fantastic. I have a metal allergy, so I had to take out many of my other piercings, but I have had no problems with the piercings and jewelery I have gotten from Brilliance.It is pricier than other shops but if you have a metal allergy, like great customer service, and want to pick top quality jewelery to be pierced with- this is THE place to go.

My daughter has been looking forward to getting her second ear piercing for at least 3 years now. So when I finally decided she could get it for her birthday, I wanted to make sure it was done properly. After much research, I decided on Brilliance Piercing. This was the best decision for us. The studio reminds me of a day spa...very relaxing and calm. They offered many different styles of quality jewelry which was perfect because my daughter has sensitive skin. Once we selected a pair, they actually cleaned the earrings along with the tools that were being used for the piercing. Jen explained each step of the process to help ease any anxiety my daughter had. The actual piercing was completed with minimal pain and I have ome happy daughter. I absolutely recommend Jen at Brilliance Piercing for your piercing needs.

I have gotten pierced by 4 different piercers in my life and this was by far the best experience. The cleanliness of the space and how safe they are with the jewelry/procedure was well beyond what Ive seen at other places. While I thought that the price was more than others, I realized that it was the quality of the jewelry and the piercer herself. Jen pierced my daith and this was the least painful piercing Ive ever had. The healing has been easy, probably due to how well it was pierced and how clean everything was, and I can easily say that it was worth every dollar and more! If you want a professional piercing with guaranteed good, safe (all are hypoallergenic), and unique jewelry options then this is your place!

Jen has a nice selection of implant grade jewelry and beautiful gold, the piercing environment and practices are super hygienic and Jen is a highly skilled piercer as well as being a very personable human! The shop is bright and welcoming and the counter staff friendly and knowledgeable.If you are a parent you want the best for your kids. Why go to the mall and risk your child’s health with unsanitary piercing guns, and badly placed uneven piercings to save a buck?As an adult I appreciate Jen’s skill and taste! My piercings are healthy, perfectly placed, and my jewelry is unique.

I had a great peircing experience today at Brilliance Piercing. I first found Jen through the Association of Professional Piercers, and you can go see for yourself that she adheres to the strictest standards of health and safety. Jen is an amazing piercer who is easy to talk to, listens to the customer, clearly answers questions, and explains the piercing steps in detail as you go through the procedure. Im very happy with the experiences Ive shared with Jen and I will be visiting her again in the future. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a professional piercer.

I had never gotten anything other than my lobes pierced before and I went to Brilliance Piercing to get my cartilage pierced. Jen was great, she told me everything that was going to happen and she explained the placement of the piercing to me. She was very informative and she didnt use a gun to pierce my ear which is great because of how dangerous they can be. Overall, it was definitely a great place to get my first piercing and if I ever plan on getting another one it would be there.

This is in regards to my piercing date as of 5/11/18, on this very day.I had walked into Brilliance piercings and made an appointment (which is highly recommended) and was surprised at how this place, had been organized. It seemed like a nice, surrene and peaceful environment.When I had met Jen, she was really nice and very friendly! Even throughout the whole process I had never doubted her for a moment. Jen makes sure the client gets what they like, and also the process is more or less a quick pinch! (I got my earlobes done x2 and it was pretty fast)Jen does tell you about the process, marks the placement on the specific piercing area (to see if you’re happy with it) and it just takes a matter of time!There’s a wide variety of jewelery. I’m so glad I did not get my second ones done with a piercing gun! It’s not worth the risk!I am so happy with my visit! I will come again later along the road! I ordered a beautiful Pupil Hall septum clicker from the online store back in March as a birthday/college graduation present to myself. The website was easy to use and the piece was shipped quickly and packed very nicely. I put the piece in and, unfortunately, awoke to it broken in half. I emailed the studio and they helped facilitate a return to Pupil Hall. Since it broke in such a strange way, Pupil Hall replaced it. The studio shipped a new piece to me just in time for me to wear for my college graduation! Surprisingly, it was packaged EVEN BETTER the second time. I am beyond impressed with my experience (coming from someone who has always been very committed to my local studio)! I am absolutely in love with my new jewelry.

Jen is amazing and professional. She explains the entire process so you know what is going on and is very considerate of your comfort level. When originally shopping around for what I wanted to get pierced a lot of shops in the area never seemed to answer (phone or email) or had an attitude about my questions. Jen answered immediately and was extremely helpful right from the beginning. Last the prices are very reasonable here for service and jewelry. Brilliance Piercing was originally not going to be my first pick for getting things peirced since it was far from where I was coming from (on the Maryland side) but I am so glad I ended up going here. It was absolutely worth it and if I ever get anything pierced again I would definitely go here again!

Jen was incredibly helpful and kind when I came in with an unexpected piercing emergency (new ear piercing lodged in my ear lob). I got my second piercing done at Piercing Pagoda, which was a huge mistake because it got infected & caused an allergic reaction. The store is super clean and cute; the atmosphere minimizes your anxiety and is very welcoming. I was nervous about how she was planning on fixing my lodged earring. I thought she was going to have to re-pierce my ear or even make an incision to get it out, but she just shoved it through the hole. It was surprisingly quick and the pain was manageable. Jen was very sweet the whole time, making sure I was comfortable and okay through the process. Afterwards, she gave me post-care procedures to help with the infection. The whole ordeal took about 10 minutes. I had a more than pleasant experience here and will definitely return for all my piercing needs!!

Had a piercing done by another local company and was at the hands of their knowledge. In reading on line for this type it is bad to go too deep. When I was pierced... they went too deep. A week later the swelling had gone down and it was evident that it was too deep. Decided to have a consolation with Jen she gave GREAT information but let me choose what to do without pressure. With all the great information I had decided to remove it and allow to heal. Today returned to have it redone.To start the appointment it was just something totally different. Oh the decisions! I was surprised that I could choose my jewelry! Barbell and balls, AWESOME! For the piercing Jen was STELLAR! Really cared about the piercing and made the experience one to remember. I was thrilled to get this once again!THANK YOU BRILLIANCE PIERCING! I will recommend them to ANYONE for a piercing or consultation!

Jen pierced my 7yo daughters ears. She talked my daughter through it, and my daughter actually enjoyed the experience. We followed her very low-maintenance care instructions, and she had no issues and healed perfectly even though she has sensitive skin. Jen also did a nose piercing for my relative who is a doctor, and she verified that Jen did all the right things as far as cleanliness/sterilization is concerned. I highly recommend Brilliance. A side note: the jewelry is more expensive here than a place like Claires that you might take your kid to, but its because she uses primarily Titanium jewelry which is expensive but you are so much less likely to have issues with it.

My family has known Jen for a very long time! Shes the only person in the area we trusted to pierce our daughters nose. Super friendly and helpful staff, great selection of jewelry, and pricing that cant be beat! Highly recommend considering Brilliance as your first stop if you or a family member needs a piercing.

I went to Jen for a daith piercing and am super happy I did! Her studio is immaculate and tastefully decorated, and she has a beautiful selection of jewelry. I love piercings and jewelry, but have terrible anxiety about needles and have fainted more than once in my life from blood draws and one other piercing (done by a different piercer). Jen is patient, personable, and professional, quick and efficient, and I had zero queasiness or light-headedness. The piercing and jewelry placement took less than 15 seconds. I highly recommend Jen and plan to return to her studio for more piercings.

Below this update is my initial review of this establishment. Although I had an upsetting experience with purchasing jewelry at first, it has been well made up for with consistently outstanding customer service, quality products, and superior services. Thus, I have increased my rating of this studio to a 5. I also just got my 5th piercing here the other day, and once again Jen was phenomenal. Two of my other piercings have completely healed with no major issues and the last two are doing great and on their way to healing as well. A lot has also changed since my first time coming. Brilliance has had renovations and 2 other piercers have joined the team. There is a large assortment of jewelry for purchase in-store and you will have ample time to browse, ask questions, and be sure you are making the right decision for you. Remember to be sure and ask lots of questions beforehand. Note COVID has also changed some of their policies and services currently being offered. Bottomline, I definitely recommend Brilliance for its safe piercing practices and topnotch customer service. I honestly would not trust any other piercing studio in the DMV area.---------------------------------------------Overall, I would give this studio a 3.5. Each time I visited it has been very clean, organized, and professional-looking. To my understanding, there is only one piercer at this establishment, Jen. Jen was very patient, professional, and great at talking me through the process. There are also 2 or 3 other ladies who work upfront answering questions, selling jewelry, and handling scheduling. I came in to get a second hole in each of my ears and initially was scared, but Jen did a fantastic job. The piercing itself did not hurt as much as I thought it would. Healing hurt more, and I called and visited several times after to make sure my ears were healing properly. Each time I called or went in I was always met with a smile and thorough answers to my concerns. Its been about 4 months now since I have had these piercings and I recently wanted to change out the jewelry I initially had placed in my ears. Unfortunately, my ears had not healed as much as anticipated and I had trouble removing the tiny little studs I purchased from Brilliance when I had my piercings done. So I went back in to buy larger studs which were $40. Jen put the larger studs in for me and placed the ones I was wearing in a small clear plastic container. What I did not know and find out until a few weeks later when I decided to place the tiny studs back in my ear was I was missing the backs to the new larger studs I had recently purchased. I immediately called and explained I had recently come in and bought a new pair of studs which were missing the backs. Who buys studs not expecting the backs to be a part of the purchase?! Well apparently, at Brilliance you get a complete set of studs, fronts and backs, when you get your initial piercing. If you purchase another set later on you are only buying the earrings with no backs because the backs are interchangeable. An additional set of backs is $30! I was furious. First off, this is the type of information customers need to know BEFOREHAND, not after because now I feel cheated and misled and frankly screwed over. So, like most others have already stated....the jewelry prices are incredibly inflated. None of the jewelry I bought was fancy by any means. Just plain silver metal studs. Moral of the story...if you want an amazing piercer, Jen is the piercer you need to go see. At the same time, just be aware the jewelry is extremely overpriced and priced in a way that you may not be getting what you think you are paying for. So, just be sure to ask tons of questions prior to getting any services or merchandise so there are no unfortunate surprises like the one I had.

I just got two piercings (both nipples) done by Tobias at Brilliance, and I couldnt be more thrilled with the entire experience. The shop was spotlessly clean, everyone was very kind, and perhaps most importantly, the piercing itself was done marvelously well. While we waited for the instruments to sanitize, Tobias chatted with me, calmed my nerves, and told me exactly what I should expect. He walked me through precisely how he would do the entire process from start to finish and there were no surprises. He marked the lines and checked with me to make sure I liked the placement. I also got loads of aftercare information and all of my (many) questions were answered patiently and thoroughly. Keightley, who assisted my checkout, also helped me find a nose ring for my sister and even sent me a video to help her place it since they arent currently doing services under the mask. I literally cannot recommend this shop enough.

I have highly sensitive ears so I decided try Brilliance Piercing. Jen pierced my ear. She was great and definitely knows what shes doing! She handled my ears with care and explained the process as she went. So why three stars...I paid for expensive gold earrings that broke on the first day I was able to finally take them out. Im now unable to wear my $180 earrings. The earrings are WAY over priced but they wont let you bring your own. Service is 5 stars but jewelry quality and price are 0 stars.

Jen was knowledgeable and kind even though I was a bit of a wimp this time around. I didn’t catch the front of the shop lady’s name, but she was also super sweet. Everything was cleaned and sterilized right in front of me, and they both kept up a steady stream of delightful conversation to assuage my nerves. When it was over, they handed me a juice box, which was the best aftercare ever.I will definitely be returning to Brilliance for future piercings!

Love this place! Everyone is welcoming and calming from the moment you walk in. I absolutely love my piercings. I had to get a last minute surgery and they were so understanding and scheduled me to get a glass post to put in so my piercing wouldn’t close. It is also very clean with tons of jewelry options. I came here to adjust the post of my threadless jewelry as my tragus piercing had healed. I also have cartilage piercings that needed new jewelry. People are welcoming, friendly. They practice COVID precautions, just be sure you do your part as well. The place is exceptionally clean. Beautiful jewelry and lots to pick from. Tobias was great, informative, and had a very light touch when handling my piercings. He knew exactly what kind of jewelry exchange I needed just by looking at them. Jen was absolutely divine, we were mildly late and she took it perfectly in stride. It was my first piercing and she walked me through every item, and showed me the sterilization process. She even talked about her pets to make me more comfortable! The pain was very minimal, no blood and very little redness. I’ve heard that the earlobes commonly throb after piercing, this did not occur with me. It was over in about two seconds. More professional than I could have hoped, and beautiful selection of earrings, there were at least 60 options. I adore my new earrings, thank you!

Jen is the most competent piercer I know. She always looks out for my best interests and gave me exactly what I needed. I recently went to two other piecers to remove my septum ring and Jen was the only piercer who could get it out safely and with absolute concern for my needs. I got my septum sized up and my earring replaced and she did a fantastic job. I would recommend Brilliance Piercing to anyone thinking about getting pierced.

I am writing this to make a complaint about one of your staff. I believe her name is Rachel. She had a terrible, stuck up, hostile attitude, extremely unfriendly. Before explaining about my experience, I would like to suggest that you should allow customers to come in beforehand to choose their jewelry. It is unheard of that you only get a certain amount of time to choose jewelry and get a piercing done. You have a big selection and I am an indecisive buyer and i like to take my time choosing. Especially since i cannot take it off for 6 months after the piercing!!So, regarding my complaint , I was asking your employee Rachel about different studs for my lobe piercing while feeling her horrible attitude the entire time, i could feel her attitude even under her mask . I tried to get the case of earrings close to me and she said dont touch in a mean manner. You can say dont touch, but there is a nice polite way to say it.Then WHAT REALLY ticked me off , a beautiful multi stud earing caught my eye which was larger than the small ones i was looking at, so i asked about that. She looked at me as if i was crazy.. she kept on saying that one ? that one? really that one?? and then she looked at her colleague Jen, who is absolutely the kindest & sweetest btw, and said I dont know whats going on here as if to say im insane or something!!!. At that moment i was seriously contemplating walking out and not going ahead with my piercing. This is Not how you treat customers! If she doesnt know how to treat customers with utmost respect and friendliness , she shouldnt be working in a respectable store like this.To add to that, the whole piercing is a scary, intimidating experince for many. Customers are usually nervous. You are suppose to have a warm welcoming environment to put clients at ease. Instead i felt a toxic, negative energy and space which made me even more nervous and i couldnt wait to get it over with and leave! Whats even more unfortunate is that you have a nice collection of jewelry and i adore diamonds, and i actually really wanted to come back and purchase a few, and bring my friends who have multiple piercings.. Unfortunately that wont be happening as i will not be returning. World renowned, jewelers like Maria Tash in NEW York, have such a welcoming kind environment, that really puts a customer at ease and takes away the fear and nervousness. This is New York! who are known for their snobiness. instead they were the sweetest any one can be.Further, my piercer Tobias was friendly, good mannered, very professional and attentive. However, when youre talking to a client and want to instruct them to do something , you can say it once and let it go. They had told me not to touch the mirror as it will smudge.. They see me approach the mirror the first time and I was 2 feet away, no contact what so ever. After adjusting the 2nd ear. i approach the mirror again to check the new location and he gives me the same instruction not to touch the mirror again. At this point i am truly frustrated and just want to get the hell out of there. I am a Respected Dentist Not a 3 year old child. I didnt touch it the first time, I am not going to touch it the 2nd time. Repeating the instruction is Unnecessary. ( and to be honest, the instruction in the 1st place is unpleasant and unnecessary .. so what if a client smudges a mirror. you can get windex and clean it.. ) This is the differance between a good business that attracts clients from one that repels them away. Clearly customer servuce is not the priorityIts unfortunate that the entire experience felt like i was in a Military like , toxic, Negative setting and i can safely say i will never return nor recommend this place to anyone.

I am a web order customer from halfway across the country. My experience here could not be better. Ive placed 3 orders now from them and each one was quickly shipped and arrived on time in secure packaging with a personal touch and a handwritten note on the packing slip. Their system for communicating order/shipping status is amazing. The jewelry itself is my first experiment after 3 years of letting my ears recover from sub-par jewelry that promised to be hypo allergenic but led to rash, inflammation, and infection. NO ISSUES AT ALL with this. It has stayed in for weeks with not even the slightest irritation or discomfort. I would trust anything I get from the store.The customer service is also top notch. I did have one of my orders ship with wrong size earring and within 24 hours a replacement was on its way with tracking info at no cost and no hassle whatsoever.Cannot say enough good about this business.

Tobias has the hands of an angel baby. He is so calming, warm, and friendly— he will put you right at ease. He guides you through the process with great kindness and he’s just a master of his craft. The pain is minimal to none and I’m pretty much the biggest wimp lol. Honestly, these past two trips were hands down the best piercing experiences ever. The whole staff is amazing, too. Great selection of jewelry. Just the best place. I’m already on the wait list for my third appt :D

First timer! Jen was exceptional. She and I spoke prior to my visit, and she made me feel more comfortable once I arrived. She was very personal, explained step-by-step what to expect, asked my permission to touch certain parts where she planned to pierce (tragus) and showed me the certain tools she intended to use prior to the piercing. I ended up not getting a piercing because after consultation the pricing for my Tragus was astronomical. So yeah…

The piercing place I typically go to is in Atlanta, so when my threadless nostril piercing was almost completely ripped through, I had no idea where to go.Brilliance Piercing was recommended to me, so I drove an hour to get here - I’m so glad I did. They do such a good job with spacing and they even ask u where u want it, how close together, etc. They have a huge selection of jelewrey and its a great variety. Absolute best piercing experience ever; from the moment they came to retrieve me from my car in observance of covid protocols, to the actual procedure with Tobias who was incredibly knowledgeable, patient and gentle, to the moment I walked out the door. Warm, welcoming and professional; I honestly felt like I was in the midst of long time friends. Huge inventory of jewelry ranging from high end to things that suited my budget and most importantly, I wasnt made to feel as if I wasnt a valuable patron because I had a limited budget. They are currently utilizing a waitlist procedure to schedule clients due to covid and Ive already added myself to the list for my next piercing.

I was extremely impressed with Jen and this studio. I brought my daughter for a cartilage piercing, and Jen could not have been more professional or kind in answering my questions and making my daughter feel comfortable. The studio was immaculate and welcoming and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Weird experience, I drove an hour to come here specifically. Needed high quality jewelry. was early, knocked on the door the girl said can’t do anything we are still opening. How hard is it to go out of your way to get someone a piece of jewelry. I just went out of my way to come here. Apparently customer service isn’t a service provided. If anyone walked into my studio closed or not just needed something very quick had all exact sizing. 3/8 (10mm) septum ring or (clicker,) 16 with 3mm ball ends titanium internally threaded.Also included that im a body modication artist also with over 300,000 followers on social media I would have been stoked to let a fellow artist in.

Came in for a anti-tragus piercing two years ago. Initially I picked what I was told was an Anatometal ring, before catching myself and remembering that based off what I read, I should start with a barbell. They insisted that was not right so I went for the ring. Two years and counting the piercing has still not healed. I know these piercing in particular can be tricky, so I tried not read too much into it, but went to another piercer who took one look at my ear and immediately said the ring was too tight and cant heal because of the irritation bumps. They also said that they should have not started me off with that for a new piercing. Feels very piercing 101 to me, so I think they were trying to make a sell on the ring that costs me over $200. Also want to flag that the new piercer said the piece I bought was likely gold plated, and not real gold. Really upsetting given how expensive it was. Had a way better experience for $30. Writing this review after reaching out twice via email and hearing nothing. In my honest opinion, its not worth it. There are great piercers charging way less who wont take advantage of customers.

She’s the only piercer I go to. Excellent skills and jewelry. Pricing may be higher than what you see at some other places but it’s not expensive. You’re getting a professional, sterile experience with the best jewelry available. She could charge a lot more for her quality and I’d still only come to her. You’re not gonna find someone else on her level around this area. We’ve all seen those piercers that operate out of some back room hole of a tattoo shop. I love that her shop is hers and the focus is piercing. There’s no place like Brilliance Piercing. Stop hesitating and go see Jen!

You have to make an appointment just to shop there - literally, just to walk in and look around for 10 minutes and buy something THAT THEY WONT EVEN HELP YOU PUT IN - you need an appointment, and they book almost two months in advance. Once you finally get there, prepare to be shocked at the price of the jewelry. Had I known what a racket this place is, I could have saved us both the time and just gotten my jewelry somewhere else.

Worth the drive and worth the wait for an appointment. Jenn and Tobias are both excellent, and the jewelry selection is top-notch. Super clean and professional.

I found Jen on Yelp and was impressed with the reviews. It was definitely worth the short drive from Woodbridge. She explained the whole process and she was finished before I knew it. Shes very professional and wouldnt hesitate to return for any future piercings.

I haven’t had the honor to get pierced at this studio but I have called, emailed and purchased from them and they are absolutely amazing. They respond promptly and are super friendly! I can’t wait for their books to open up so I can finally book a styling appointment.

Jen gets five stars in my book any day. She is gentle, explains her procedures, and makes you feel comfortable and welcome in her shop. I hope that she is here to stay. I will be returning to get more jewelry and possibly more piercings.

I got a triple cartilage piercing all of them were unevenly spaced and crocked after spending 300$ at the shop I had to take 2 of the 3 out because they weren’t going to heal properly. Any piercing not done straight risks infection and the growth of keloids which happened to all 3. The prices are outrageous for titanium up charging almost 50$ per piece of jewellery. They also use many unnecessary steps to clean the jewellery and sanitise the perching spot. This allows for more bacteria to form and it’s just for show. Any piercer who knows what they are doing won’t pierce more than 1 place in the cartilage area in a row due to the likeness of it swelling and making the piercings uneven. I advise anyone in the area to steer clear of this place and find somewhere cheeper. Lucky 13 in Richmond only costs 20$ per piercing with jewellery included and I have never had any issues with their quality. I wish I had known about them before I trusted brilliance with 300$.

I had to get a lobe piercing re-pierced because it closed up and Tobias was absolutely amazing! He answered all of my questions with so much patience. The whole place was very clean and neat, and I would love to come back here for more piercings in the future.

This is THE place in Northern VA to get piercings and jewelry. Jen is the absolute best, not only at piercing but also at walking clients through options and making sure they are going to be completely happy with their piercings and jewelry. All that and a FANTASTIC selection of jewelry. Go here, you wont regret it.

This review is for the online store! Ordered a seam ring. The shipping was super fast, arrived in 4 days later. Packaging was so cute… came in teal box with a holographic bag, nice note and a sticker! I will be sure to make a purchase here next time!

There is a little bait and switch going on here. They only allow you to use their own jewelry for piercing which is overpriced and of low quality.If you are ok with that - you will be fine. Otherwise they treat you like a third class citizen.On their website the price for ear piercing is $50, but after you have been forced to buy their jewelry (the cheapest kind is $60) the total comes up to $110. You will only find that out when you come to the shop.

Tobias was AMAZING! I got one of my ears repierced and was nervous about how it would look. Tobias took so much care to ensure everything looked perfectly symmetrical. Not to mention he is so kind and answers every question!

Love Jen, she made me so comfortable and before I realized it was done, no pain at all. Bit pricey but totally worthed. Am ready for next piercing at this place.

Absolutely wonderful. Very personable and professional. I got a second forward helix done and the experience was night and day from the first one I got at another studio. The pain was very minimal in comparison and she was so fast it was over before I knew it.

Perfect place for piercing. I have been many other places for my nose piercing, but I got an infection every time. But when I did pierce at this place, my nose healed in a day. I am super satisfied. I will do my ear piercing at this place as well.
