I got my first tattoo there, they did a very good job walking me through it. I had Karina for an artist, who was very professional and did an incredible job. The rest of the staff was also very professional and welcoming, 5/5!

Walked in after work looking to just get a feel of this place and make an appointment. Walked out with a new tattoo. Very satisfied. The young lady was really sweet and very professional. Made you feel at ease.

I started coming to purgatory back last April after looking for recommendations for shops. I went to Shaun and he did amazing work as well as being a cool and fun guy to be tattooed by! I recently had a tap out session with Shaun and it was fun as hell and can’t wait to do another one. I’ve consistently gone back and I love the vibe and love every artist / piercer in the shop. Purgatory is my shop now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else ! Every artist does amazing work ❤️

Incredible experience with Purgatory Tattoo. Lyndze did an amazing job taking all the pieces of what I liked and incorporating into my tattoo. Definitely my go-to now. And Chloe was great in the breathing process to make my septum piercing less painful. A place that listens and cares about their customers.

I’ve gotten many tattoos at this shop and Lyndze masters has done all of my most recent tattoos. This shop is professional and clean. First time at the shop. Skyler was the artist who did a personal smaller piece for me. She is awesome! The entire experience was great . As an artist she was able take my idea and bring it to fruition in a unique meaningful way. Def recommend booking with her. The shop itself was easy to find and has a relaxed welcoming environment. The other employees and artists I interacted with were helpful and nice. Cool atmosphere and great vibes.

Called for a walk-in, they were all very sweet and welcoming. Tattoo artist Sara was very friendly and quick. The tattoo style I wanted she nailed perfectly and she was very patient with repositioning. Very happy with the results.

I have been in the shop a few times and have had work done by Shaun and Skyler. The shop is clean and a comfortable environment. Always greeted with a smile. Both pieces i had done were done perfectly. Definitely recommend the shop.

I visited on a busy day for a small tattoo. I was greeted cheerfully and set up with an artist immediately. The artwork was done wonderfully, and the price was lower than expected.Overall, it was a really positive experience. Ill be going back again.

Hands down the best shop I have been to and I have been to plenty. The owner Shaun is kind and always professional and honest. The shop is clean and sanitary. Hours of operation are very convenient and getting an appointment is a breeze. You can stop in or message the shops pages and they respond very quickly. Highly reccomend and im very picky when it comes to tattoo shops. All of the artists are very talented and friendly. Piercings or tattoos this is the shop to go to.

Shaun and his staff are amazing! Their personalities will make you feel so comfortable. My first time going I was super nervous (new tattoo artist and new tattoo shop for me) but after a couple minutes, I felt like I was hanging out with friends I’ve known forever. I got a tattoo done by Skyler and she was phenomenal! The shop was very clean and everyone was extremely welcoming. Definitely my favorite tattoo yet, and I cant wait to come back for my next one!

Hands down the best experience I’ve had! Starting off with getting my tongue pierced by Vanessa. She was very professional and it was a quick and painless process. Decided to get ink done right after(as a walk-in) and had the privilege of having Leigha whip up the coolest Mandalorian tattoo on the spot! She was also very professional and polite, very informative. If I ever find myself back in NY I’ll definitely be making another appointment.

Shaun has been tattooing me for the last 13 years and I can’t speak highly enough about his talent and professionalism. All of his employees are just as talented as he is, and I have trusted them with doing my teenagers’ body piercings (Skylar is amazing!) as well as my oldest daughter’s first tattoo for her 18th birthday (thanks Lyndze!) I’ve lived in NC since 2014 and I still travel up to Albany to get my tattoos done by Shaun- I won’t let anyone else touch my skin. (Some lessons ya gotta learn the hard way lol)Shaun’s work speaks for itself, just a couple of months ago one of my tattoos he did at an expo won two trophies. Thanks homie! ❤️💋

Everything about this shop is amazing. From cleanliness to the artists. They communicate with you and make sure you are entirely happy with everything. They all make you feel so comfortable. I now feel like family when I go there for work!!! I travel an hour and a half and I will never go anywhere else!!!!

Vanessa pierced my helix and did a great job, she was pleasant and friendly and very gentle, I barely felt a thing. This place was quoted at a higher price than some others I called but I think Vanessa is worth it. Parking is a little crazy, that’s my only complaint, I had a hard time finding a spot but you also know that’s a good sign- the place was packed! I’d definitely recommend.

Exceptional shop! I have been in twice and been tattooed and Shaun and his artists are all exceptionally kind, talented, and professional. Taking my daughter for her first tattoo there next week! Its clean, sterile, and extremely awesome at Purgatory! 10/10 recommend!

The first time I went into the shop last February to get my chest done, Shaun the owner made me feel comfortable and checked on me throughout the entire tattoo. After that I knew I found my place, after that first tattoo I then went back for 4 others by him as well as two more that were done by two of his artists in there as well. I highly recommend him to EVERYONE who comments on my tattoos.

I had 2 piercings done. Amazing atmosphere. Great people. I felt extremely comfortable and at ease while prepping for the piercings. Everything was explained to me step by step. Very clean environment. They were very busy but fit me right in with very little wait time. 100% recommend this shop.

For my very first tattoo, I ended up going to purgatory! I worked with Skyler, who was great! Not only did she keep me involved to the process, ask questions, and confirm everything with me, I was blown away with the designs. Made the process of getting a tattoo as pleasant as it could be for a first timer. I’ve since gone back and got even more tattoos! I would recommend everyone here!!!! I originally rated 3 stars based on my experience, however after speaking to the shop owner and how he handled it, 5 stars for his morals.I’ve heard there are some amazing artists at this shop. Definitely worth checking out as I think the owners integrity will speak for itself.

I have gotten many services from the artists here. Shaun is a great tattoo artist and has a wonderful personality and creates a great atmosphere. The shop is very clean and neat. There is an artist for every single need you may have.

I went here previously to get my septum done and recently came back to get a vertical labret. The piercing turned out absolutely amazing and perfectly placed. The artist, Skyler, made sure to talk through each step and made sure I was comfortable throughout. Would highly recommend for piercings

Been coming here for years. Shops clean, tattoos are beautiful. I would highly recommend Purgatory for anybody looking to get their first tattoo, the staff is patient and have always taken my comfort and needs into consideration. Skyler is very gentle and just did an amazing piece on my throat, her attention to detail shows how much she cares about giving you the best tattoo possible. Shaun has done the majority of my work, he’s always on the same page as me and kills it with color every damn time. Every artist at purgatory is extremely talented. 10 stars

Ive been to this shop many times and mostly get tattoos done by Lyndze. She has done an incredible job working with me to make my ideas come to life, with her style mixed in. The place is extremely clean and Lyndze, along with the rest of the staff, makes it a comfortable place to be. The energy of the shop makes it hard to forget, and you can tell each of the artists loves what they do. When someone asks me where to go I always recommend this place!

I have been to Purgatory more times than I can count…. All I have to say is they are some of the friendliest people I have ever meant. Never once have I went there and had a bad experience. Purgatory is the only place I get any work done now! I’ve had so many great experiences every time I get piercings, tattoos, new jewelry, etc. I’ve had several tattoos done there and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Skyler does all of my piercings and always makes me feel comfortable and is always patient with me. Overall, fantastic quality work and a very clean environment too!

Totally recommend this place to others! I got my cartilage piercing done around 9 months ago and it’s healed up perfectly with 0 problems. The girl(I didn’t catch her name) who did my piercing was so sweet and talked me through it all and made me feel so comfortable! So happy with my experience. 10/10 will definitely do it again.

I was not a customer however I did go to this place to support my son. I have a SERVICE animal and I’m disabled. They told me he was not allowed!!! They said we will let u stand in their “alcove” no chair just in the doorway. When I tried to explain they are dead wrong they all continued to tell me I’m wrong like I don’t know my rights as a person with serious disabilities. A service dog I’ve had for 5 years That’s wrong!! ..check your facts…Not only was I ganged up on by like 6 chicks yelling at me they kicked me out!! That’s illegal. Post the video I hope it has sound. I’m disabled I did not threaten anyone. I did nothing wrong but defend myself.

I have been to Purgatory several times since they opened. I love their atmosphere and everyone in there is super friendly and welcoming not to mention professional. I have been tattooed by Shaun and Dana and will ALWAYS recommend people to go to their shop.

Skyler is amazing!! Definitely recommend her to anyone looking to get a piercing. She got me in quick and did all three piercings (3rd hole lobes and cartilage ) very happy and pleased with the whole experience! Super friendly, clean place, sanitized equipment, followed regulations, etc. She took the time to make sure I was comfortable and happy with where the piercings were going to be placed. She walked me through the whole process and explained the steps to properly take care of them afterwards. She offered to change any piercings in the future and I will definitely be doing back if I want any more piercings :) highly recommend!

I got my nipples pierced here with Skylar and she was so nice and professional made me feel so comfortable and made the overall experience fast and easy. Clean, and told me all the required steps after to the after care of my piercing!!! Would 10/10 recommend very happy with my outcome!

I went and got my second nostril pierced yesterday and my experience was beyond amazing!! The woman who pierced me took her time making sure both nostril piercings would be even from all angles and had me double check to make sure I liked my placement. She was extremely quick and did an amazing job. She was very personable and I enjoyed my time there with her! I cannot recommend this place enough and this will now be the only place I get my piercings and tattoos!!

May be a little biased since my uncle owns the shop and some of my other uncles work for him but I’ve been going to them since they were at syndicate and I’ve never gone to anyone else. Always friendly and know to always keep a fun environment. I brought my friend cause she wanted a tattoo and I wouldn’t take her anywhere else cause of how her anxiety is and they were so good. Everr since I was young I wanted to get a tattoo. Although I’ve never been a fan of needles the thought of one moving that quickly scared me. When I first arrived I was greeted by Melissa who I made an appointment with to get my tattoo, she was very welcoming and professional and when we went to her station I told her I was nervous and she helped calm me down. The tattoo I wanted had some detail to it and she did an absolutely amazing job. All my friends love it and I love it as well, Melissa made my very first tattoo experience memorable and enjoyable and I’ll definitely be returning soon to get more done. Everyone is friendly and the prices are so unbeatable 10/10 I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a tattoo or piercings because they are all so professional and amazing artists!

Awesome staff at Purgatory, Chris was my artist. They squeezed me in last minute and completed my work in a timely fashion and did a great job. Very clean establishment, friendly and professional, yet still very affordable. I have multiple tattoos done at different places, and after today, I know I’ll still be returning soon! This place was amazing!! I went for my first tattoo and Shaun, the owner, and Ariel, who did my tattoo, were sooo understanding. Shaun talked to me and helped me calm down a lot without realizing it and Ariel said we could go at my pace since I was extremely nervous and told both of them. Ariel told me I could ask for a minute whenever I needed. My tattoo came out AMAZING and Im overly obsessed with it. Already recommended the place to a friend and will definitely be coming back!

Shaun “G.I.G” just did a piece on me and as a heavily tattooed individual I have to say I couldn’t be more impressed. This is my 14th tattoo and I’ve never had a tattoo heal and look IDENTICAL to the day it was done. I have a beautiful bright fall inspired lantern on my forearm that I wish I could post in this review. The shop is so clean you could eat off of the floors. The prices are unbeatable, remember though you pay for the quality. Shaun was on time and ready to go for my appointment which was also a luxury as I’m used to my previous artist sleeping in and being an hour late to our evening appointments. As long as Shaun is willing to tattoo me I will continue to use him as my artist. Could not be happier with the experience! Go get stuck in purgatory, you won’t regret it.

I came across Purgatory Tattoo Co. On Facebook and sent them a message, within minutes I had a response and was in the shop within the hour getting mine and my fiances tattoos. Very clean and friendly environment, all artists welcomed us with a smile and made our experience that much better. We will definitely be scheduling for more work.

All the artists are very well humored . They get right to the work they are asked to do and will fulfill everything that is asked.In my personal opinion i believe Shaun has the best traditional work in the shop so that’s who you wanna go for some traditional art work! Everyone else has amazing work for it all!!

Kicked me and my disabled mother out because of mothers service dog, they yelled at my mother to get the f out multiple times after she agreed to stay outside but kept persistently picking on the fact they can deny for a service dog( it is highly illegal to ask to see paperwork or documentation of the service dog)then a bigger lady with black hair got into my mother’s face telling her to do something… completely unprofessional and rude for customers with disabilities. they need to do there reach there information (ADA) they will be hearing form a layer…

Got a belly piercing today here by Skyler and she did amazing! Talked me through the piercing and everything was nice and clean all at an amazing price. My mom also got her ears pierced here.

I went to get my nostril pierced here. Not only did they use a cheap screw stud but they pierced me in a terrible location and with a crooked angle. I had to go get the piercing removed and redone on the other side at a reputable shop in the right location with a flat back labret. Would not reccomend. 0/5 stars

I loveeee coming here , the first time Skyler just helped me put my nose ring back in because I was struggling so hard just to get it back in , I ended up coming in with a thumb tack in my nose and she helped me right away and yesterday I got my belly button piercing done ( I’m very scared to get piercings cause I don’t like pain) but Kay Kay and Skylar assured that I was gonna be fine and Kay Kay even held my hand. That was very sweet of Kay Kay to do that cause I don’t think many people in a tattoo parlor would do that lol and my piercing came out great and it wasn’t painful at all

Setup was very professional. Gave me a Free consultation to verify my piercing request is possible anatomically. But the price quoted was higher than Cold River Tattoo & Piercing.I first called to find out how much piercing would cost but I was asked to take a evaluation appointment to make sure the piercing is possible, I was not told the price though.
