He’s very patient and always checks on how you’re doing and makes sure to give breaks during bigger tattoos. He’s made every one of my dream pieces come to life way better than I could even imagine! I recommend Brad Taylor to anyone and everyone, he’s the best!

Brad did an excellent job and really put the time and effort in to make the design I had come to life. Did excellent with the line work as well as the shading to make sure that it looked great and lasts. You can tell Brad has a passion for what he does and it shows in his work. We had Abigail, and she was delightful! Very kind, considerate, and patient. My partner and I are traveling several hours from home, and she allowed us to do a walk-in on short notice and still worked with all our requests! We got matching mushrooms, and I got my own magic mushroom, as well. She was quick and light-handed, Id recommend her for sure! 🖤

Brad is my tattoo artist and he is genuinely one of the best! He’s always so open minded and super patient with each appointment. I’ve gotten a little over 7 pieces from him within the last year or so; one being a freestyle, sternum to ankle!! I adore his work so much! Whatever you have in mind, Brad can seriously make it come to life. You can tell Brad takes pride in his work and interest in his clients just by looking at his portfolio here on the website or even checking out his social media. One of my absolute favorite things about him is how comfortable he makes you feel throughout the whole appointment; making sure you like how your tattoo is placed/positioned, suggesting his own creative twist on pieces to make it truly one of a kind for you (also gives you more options to choose from), and always ALWAYS making sure you feel good (mentally and physically)!! Everyone in the shop is so fun to be around as well, they work together as a family and make you feel so welcomed. It’s an overall amazing experience! If you ever have free time on a Wednesday, stop by for their walk-ins! You will NOT be disappointed and it’s money well spent!! Super excited for my next appointment! :))

Ive been twice in the last month. Brandie finished up my tattoo and it looks fantastic! She is awesome to talk with as well and makes sure you are comfortable the whole time. Went Saturday to get my ears pierced by Celeste. She explained every step to me and made sure I was comfortable with the process. I recommend skin hooked to everyone.

Overall great place great work and great atmosphere. Brad Taylor has done two of my tattoos and he did an excellent job on both especially my bull skull tattoo he makes sure you’re good and he does the best work honestly one of if not my best piece I have. Definitely give Brad and Skin Hooked a shot.

Did various piercings with Celeste and she’s amazing!! She’s very nice, talks you through the whole process, and explains everything thoroughly. Everything is sanitary and you can tell the piercer is knowledgeable and experienced. Helped a lot with my nerves. The piercings came out great, I love them! Definitely going back 🫶

I attend Ohio University and came to skin hooked on their walk in Wednesday for my first ever tattoo. Instantly I was greeted with a smile, very respectful people. the artist who did my tattoo is Brad and I haven’t gone to anyone different his art and fine like work are amazing and his knowledge when it comes to the art of tattooing is spectacular. I refuse to go anywhere else.

I just got my septum pierced by Celeste and she was amazing! It was my first time getting a piercing in a place that wasn’t Claire’s (lol) and she walked me through the entire process. I’ll definitely be going back for any future piercings I get!

I have been a client of Brads for almost a year now. I’ve gotten numerous tattoos by Brad and have always been 100% satisfied with his work. He has done color /coverup and fine line work for me, he is definitely versatile in switching up tattoo styles. Brad truly cares about the product (his tattoos) that he puts out and the cleanliness around his workspace/chair. Brad is professional and will work with you on designing, sizing, and location of the piece.

I’ve gotten a couple pieces done by Brad and every time they have healed amazingly! He is very light handed and is patient with his work so they always come out perfectly! I highly recommend Brad if you’re looking to get a tattoo!

I really liked the place and the people are extremely welcoming! I got my daith pierced by Brain. It was so slow and the most pain I have felt in my life and I have had 3 shoulder replacements. Thats the least bad part though... it healed incorrectly so I went to get more piercers opinions in my hometown and they all said the jewelry is gold plated (essentially its fake and will never allow my hole to heal) the piercing is SEVERELY miss placed and shallow as well!!!!!! Those added together have caused an major infection and now I am out 70$. My roommates got tattoos and they are very happy, so I am not trying to drag this place through the mud, they are great people but I do NOT recommend going to brian and I just want to save someone else from going through the worst healing experience of their lives!! :)

Got pierced by Celeste 3 weeks ago. Tongue piercing itself was fast and smooth, just a pinch so not painful really. Healing it was a strange experience but overall went alright :) I really liked Celeste and my friend got pierced by them too, they were patient and friendly so it made it a much more comfortable experience

Abigail did such an amazing job and made me feel so at home and comfortable!

Celeste pierced my tongue a couple days ago and she was super patient, knowledgeable, and empathetic. Overall a far better piercing experience than any I’ve had in the past.

Took my son there to get his ears pierced and Celeste was great with my son and explained everything to him and made him feel comfortable. Then j ended up getting a tattoo and Shawn was great. I definitely recommend this shop.

Im obsessed with this piece. Shawn was professional and loved that he gave me options and suggestions on the piece I chose. Man definitely knows what hes doing. I got lyrics from desert rose by Lolo on my ribs. Uncomfortable area but was manageable. I am extremely happy with it and will be booking again soon.

I went here for my first piercing since I was about 6 years old. Celeste was my piercer and she was awesome! She talked me through everything and was helpful throughout the whole processes. Highly recommend especially if you’re new or a little anxious about getting a piercing!

I got my earlobe pierced for the second time here. My friends recommended it and I love it. I’ve had the first piercing since I was little, and they are pretty uneven (thanks Claire’s), but he made absolutely sure that the second studs would be level. He explained every step and was extremely friendly and clean. I will be returning for any future jewelry.

I went in for two helix piercings in one ear. I had Celeste as my piercer, and she was so calm and informative!! It was my first experience in a shop like that, and she made it fantastic. I really appreciate her professionalism, the ease of the whole process, and the detailed aftercare information she gave me. This was an amazing experience. Im in town on vacation and always wanted to get my ears pierced, decided to jump! Brian was incredibly friendly and professional. Everything was explained to me thoroughly and in an easy to understand way. They made me feel super comfortable and the whole vibe of the shop was excellent! Definitely recommend. My girlfriend and I both went to Skin Hooked to get our Septum Piercings done. Brian did both of our piercings. He was incredibly thoughtful and inclusive and made the process less scary. My piercing went in well and looked great.Why the 2 stars? Brian SEVERELY messed up my girlfriends. He put the piercing in way too far behind in her nose. She went back the next day to have Celeste examine it and the placing.Celeste was appalled at how bad the piercing was placed.

I just got my nose pierced by Celeste, it was amazing! I got a response immediately after sending appointment request, was able to get in next day. Celeste really takes time to make sure you’re comfortable by explaining everything about the procedure and healing process. The whole facility appeared clean and very well managed. Prices are great as is the jewelry selection! Highly recommend finding Celeste for piercing needs in Athens.

She is such a talented artist, and such a amazing person to sit with. She took her time to make sure my tattoo was perfectly drawn up, and her color and line work is amazing. This place is absolutely amazing. The artists are super nice and easy to talk to, and the tattoos look phenomenal. I had Charlie and Kayla each once so far, and they are both so fun to work with. I had originally made an appointment with Kayla Beck and well after a few canceled appointments later I sent the owner Shawn a message and he was very friendly and willing to make things right, the end result was her no longer working there and my husband and I found our forever tattoo shop!! This place is amazing! My tattoo artist was Shawn. He was extremely nice and considerate about how I was feeling. I switched up my design I wanted and he had no problem with that, even gave me tips on how to make it better and drew it for me! This being my first tattoo I was super nervous, he assured me everything is brand new. He even showed me the expiration dates and that the packages were sealed. This made me feel a million times better. When getting ready to be inked he put the stencils on and made sure I liked them, that they were in a good spot, and were even on both sides. He made sure I was okay the whole time and kept talking to me to make sure I was okay. Needless to say, I LOVE MY TATTOOS!! He did such an amazing job and the experience alone makes me want to go back!

Have gotten several tattoos from Shawn and have always had a great experience. I live out of town but will definitely be back to have more work done by him. Holly has done a bit of work for my aunt and she is very skilled fine line work. Recommended to all.

I went in to get new jewelry for my already there cartilage, and then came back because I needed help with the piece of jewelry. I saw Brian both times and he was so kind and concerned with how to help me, and very professional and gentle with the jewelry change itself. Thank you so much!

I went there for a septum piercing, and Brian pierced through my cartilage in the middle of my nose, causing me to almost faint during the piercing and make it look horrible. I went back the next day and met with Celeste, who told me that Brian had done a horrible job and the best course of action was to remove it. She removed it and gave me a refund. If you choose to go here, DO NOT LET BRIAN PIERCE YOU!

This is my 2nd time going to this shop. Always great quality, clean and amazing service and atmosphere. Always have our tattoos drawn up and the exact size we want. Had got a cover up and shes going to touch it up when I go back in on my next appointment. I refuse to go anywhere else. They are there to make sure we get what we want and we love the outcome. Definitely recommend!

I absolutely love this place! I looked for years to find an artist professional enough to do my cover up. Shawn is amazing and after working with me for a month on ideas he gave me the tattoo of my dreams! I’ll never go anywhere else.Side note: who is this Kayla Beck and Belcher guy who are leaving one star reviews? They seem bitter and possibly unhappy in their own lives.

Great shop, love the quirky basement atmosphere. Clean and organized, this shop is perfect for spontaneous walk-in tattoos and piercings. If you are looking for experienced artists for a larger scale piece, Sean and Charlie have the skills for that as well! Great location, lots of eateries around for grabbing a bit or a pint after your session.

I was a walk-in for a helix piercing. Michelle was my piercer, and she was INCREDIBLE! Truly, just wonderful. She walked me through everything she was doing, and when the piercing took place, she did them quickly and efficiently. Now, after, I felt great, but when I stood up to walk out and pay, I felt woozy. Michelle got me water, and a cool rag for my neck. She even got out a little table/bed that I laid on and offered me cherries, and cookies. All in all, my experience, even with my body betraying me and nearly fainting, was excellent and I will recommend everyone go and get their piercings from Michelle!

Friendly staff. Megan did an amazing job on my tattoo. I couldn’t be happier with it. Michelle was also able to squeeze me in as a walk in for a piercing, she did great. Will definitely be going back in the future.

The man who pierced my septum went way too low and pierced my cartilage. Horrible pain, awful healing time, and looked terrible. Just went to a different piercer in Indiana to get it redone and felt no pain, because they actually pierced it in the right spot. It looks great now.

Wasnt satisfied with the results. I saved up for this and had three piercings. Two earrings on same ear kept coming off without me playing with them. The first time one came off, it was so tiny I could not screw it back myself. Had to come in for the artist to fix it and I was charged. I traveled out of Athens for Summer and over the vacation both earrings came out. Since i could not fix it back in on my own the piercings closed up. I am not the type to move around in bed a lot when I sleep to blame it on that although lying on that side might have caused that if the earrings were not fixed properly or were just not good earrings. I was thinking of piercing again but skeptical about coming here again if same thing happens, then itll only be a waste of money. Dissatisfied

While an undergrad at Ohio U, I got two tattoos done at Skin Hooked. One was a touch up of an older tattoo that was done poorly (at a different parlor) and the other was a brand new tattoo. Both were done perfectly and for a very fair price. Three years later and both still look great and remind me of good times at OU. Very grateful that I went to Skin Hooked.

Ive been twice with friends getting piercings from Michelle. They all turned out wonderfully. Both the atmosphere and people there are great. Its a neat little shop and Id definitely recommend it. I know if I decide to get something done Ill get it done here.

I went 3 weeks ago to get my bellybutton pierced and the guy who does the piercings took care of me. He did not measure my bellybutton, he simply eyeballed it. It was fine the first week, but it was getting really red and my skin was closing around the top ball the second week. I went back to have him look at it, he said it was just swollen and I would be fine.Fast forward to today. I went to a different shop since my piercing looks gnarly and I wanted a second opinion. I was informed that 1. the rod he used was a decent size, he just clamped too much skin which resulted in the top ball being pulled down into my skin and 2. in order for it to heal, I was going to have to take it out and get it repierced in a couple months.I will go to a different shop to get it done, that’s for sure.I am quite upset about spending money on something that isn’t going to heal properly and I just have to take out now.

The shop is clean and the rest of the crew are professional and hospitable.My artist, Charlie, did an amazing job interpretting what I wanted to create for my piece. I couldnt be happier! 10/10 recommend
