I got my very first tattoo here yesterday. I was very nervous, a little dramatic, and had a general idea of what I wanted but needed a lot of artistic help with my design as well as placement and size. Tom was incredibly patient and reassuring throughout the whole process. He created an absolutely beautiful design, easily took feedback and worked with me to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. I could not be happier with the my new tattoo. Everyone in the shop was very friendly and made my feel comfortable and at ease. I strongly recommend this shop to anyone interested in getting a tattoo.

My best friend and I (of almost 30 years) got tattoos by Mary Jane and we could not be happier with the outcome! She did an amazing job and was very kind, patient, and professional.It feels like you’re visiting a really nice family while you’re here, the vibes are great! I’ll definitely be back!

This was by far the best tattoo experience Ive ever had! Mary Jane crushed it with a matching best friend tattoo for myself and best friend of almost 29 years. The whole shop environment and vibe is so amazing, I cant recommend this place enough. We will definitely be new regulars for the Top Hat crew!

Tom and his team are the best in town. True artists for the sake of art! This is not your typical tattoo shop! About 75% of my ink has come from Tom and I can’t recommend he and his team enough!

Great studio with a laid-back vibe and good people.Everyone is always friendly, joking, and easy going. Love getting work done by Tom and all the other artists always looking at each others pieces and the general vibe of the place.

Shop was clean. Charles was on time, prepared, communicative and professional. This was my first tattoo and he made sure to reassure me and go slow at first so I could get a feel for it. It was a great first experience. The rest of the staff was friendly and professional as well. Definitely recommend.

This place is amazing! It was my first time visiting, and I went to Madi for a septum piercing after researching a new shop to go to. Both her and the other girl up front were very friendly! The atmosphere was chill, and the shop was extremely clean. I loved looking at the local art hanging on the walls. Madi is funny, professional, and very quick at what she does. Highly recommend her at Top Hat to anyone getting a piercing.

Tom is one of the most talented artists Ive ever seen. His shop is totally chill, and he is the nicest guy. You cant go wrong getting a tattoo from Tom! Hes the best!

This is the best local place for tattoos and piercings! They have a fun and welcoming atmosphere, theyre nice and have conversations with you, and all the tattoo artists do an amazing job! I definitely reccomend them and piercings by Madii, she is quick and does a great job!

If you wanna get ripped off for your deposit go here. Rudest staff I have ever encountered in my entire life. Tattoo needs to be fixed by someone else. And the piercing corner talks smack about their customers once they leave.

My sister & I went & got our septum’s done by Sean on 3/19/22, all the staff was amazing, especially Sean, we got exactly what we wanted, they helped us with any questions, and made us feel very comfortable.. I’ve been to a few piercers in Bakersfield, but I think we’re gonna stick with Sean from now on!😁👍🏻

I took my daughter to get her ears pierced. They were absolutely wonderful, professional and clean. The girl even had a stuffed animal for kids to hold when theyre get pierced. My daughter said she barely felt it.

Madi was an amazing piercer! Tons of jewelry options to choose from. She was smooth and very sweet. Would recommend to anyone needing any body piercing done.
