My partner and I have gotten six tattoos between us done by Josaline. Needless to say, we are huge fans of her work and I couldnt recommend her more (I made a point to recommend her to everybody I knew who was even remotely interested in getting a tattoo). Every tattoo is flawless and she was very active in the design process, offering suggestions that made the final pieces even better than we envisioned. We both also have custom designs of hers that we love, as her style is impeccable. Bonus points for her taste in video games and pop culture, and conversation with her is easy to the point that a multiple hour tattoo flies by.

I went to see Josie and she is amazing. Not only does she have a light hand, but her passion shines through her work. I have never felt more comfortable with a tattoo artist. She is considerate of her clients and provides high quality work. Would recommend!

Katie Mizuno is amazing! I was specifically looking for women artists in the Bay Area who do heavy black work, which is hard to find (hopefully that changes!) when I discovered her. The studio is squeaky clean and I felt absolutely safe going there. I dont know how her mind works, but she was able to beautifully incorporate the inspiration photos I sent her into a dreamy piece.Katie is so sweet and a joy to talk, which is nice when youre there for several hours. I got my tattoo over a year ago and it still looks brand new (see pic)! (Though mind you, you still need to follow her aftercare and wear sunscreen when going outside.)She also has some hilarious and informative reels on her Instagram about the tattooing business.

Katie was awesome! I spent 3 days at Dark Water more than a year ago while she finished out a sleeve for me adding to the 3 mandalas I already had. I love how she worked with what I had and added her own touch to it. She created something unique just for me based on the inspiration and ideas I had, but surprising to me, my most favorite part of the sleeve is something she added that had nothing to do with my ideas going into it! And I’m headed back to her to get even more of that design added on. She made the whole experience very comfortable, was very easy and enjoyable to talk to (important when you are spending 20 hrs next to each other!). Her studio was clean and comfortable. Can’t more highly recommend her and Dark Water.And I should add, after a year and half her lines and art still look great. They are really crisp and dark. I get comments nearly daily on her art and how detailed and perfect the lines are. She really took her time and did amazing work.

I was tattooed by Katie over four days earlier this year and the experience was wonderful! She designed an amazing piece for me that I am genuinely in love with. I found Dark Water, after years of searching for a comfortable, welcoming, and very professional tattoo studio. I was so impressed with the art that was specifically curated for my body. Katie Mizunos tattoos are absolutely amazing. Easy to banter and communicate with everyone, making the whole experience a lot more fun than just getting tattooed. Ive already scheduled out my next tattoo and you should too!

I asked for a full sleeve for my left arm from Katie. Boldly (albeit a little rashly,) this was my first tattoo ever. I wanted a distinct, memorable design, and she drew a piece that was beyond my highest hopes! She came up with several beautiful designs from my prompt, to the point I was a bit sad I could only pick one. She was also a great sport about drawing my first tattoo, despite the size and intensity of the piece, answering any questions and concerns while easing me into the sessions. The tattoo has held up remarkably in the months since, and I still get compliments on it from every friend and acquaintance I run into. Time flew in the sessions themselves, even for the 10-12 hours I spent in the studio, as both Katie and every individual in the studio is very friendly and affable. I would recommend Dark Water and Katie specifically to anyone who wants a striking, darker or more abstract tattoo!

Katie Mizuno is my favorite tattoo artist for so many reasons. Not only is she an extremely creative and talented artist but she went above and beyond and is such a fun and kind person to be around. I told her that I wanted a coral pattern tattoo, could afford one session, and that there were a few places on my body I didn’t want it. I then sent in some pictures of myself at different angles. When I got to the studio, she had 3 custom designs to choose from photoshopped onto my body on the pictures I sent in different locations. They were all so beautiful. I got to go through a gallery of photos of myself and see what the tattoo would look like before I got it. Plus I had 3 design options and a few location suggestions of each. It is obvious she loves what she does and wants her customers to be happy with her work. She was very precise with putting on the stencil and redid it a few times just to be sure it was perfectly straight. We had great conversation for the whole session and she was very genuine and checked in frequently to see if I was okay. She provided detailed pre, post, and during tattoo instructions which were all helpful. And we took a nice lunch break together. The studio she was in and had remodeled herself was clean and very aesthetically pleasing and calming. It had a great vibe. I can’t wait to get another tattoo by her and to see her new studio Dark Water!

I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The artists here have many years of experience creating extensive tattoo art pieces. Katie adorned my back with a wonderful piece, my only one which is holding up well over time. The whole experience was excellent, and the good atmosphere and friendly artists only make it better.

Katie is a both an incredible artist and a delightful person. I left a marathon 6 hour long blackwork session for an extensive neck piece feeling safe, cared-for, and excited about her extraordinary work. Her space is immaculate and her skill shows in how well the piece healed. I cannot recommend her enough.

DUDURU is the BEST!!! this location is equipped very well you don’t have to worry about Saniderm because he got it the bathroom is very clean price is very reasonable. Parking is metered food is nearby what else can I say it’s a great place to get a tattoo!

The artists here are extremely talented, so nice and very professional. The shop is super clean and sterile and the environment is so welcoming youre forgetting youre being stabbed with needles. Everything that has come out of this shop is amazing and you should definitely get tattooed here.
