I’ve gotten a lot of work done here by a few artists over the last few months and i adore everyone here. they’re all super chill & i like that the vibe isn’t tense between the artists. im not going to any other shop in the state.

Atra Capra has the most wonderful balance of artistic talent, true walk-in availability/flexibility, and easy-to-talk-to creators. ☺️❤️ Thankful to have them in the Woodlawn community!I ran into a sticky situation where the artist from another studio who was set to create my first tattoo just before my birthday had to cancel after having scheduled the appointment more than a month in advance. Bummer. 😔I called Atra Capra the same day I found out, and Devin was willing to meet with me for a consultation a few hours later that afternoon. ☺️ She and Nails took the time to thoughtfully consult with me on my admittedly conceptually odd tattoo idea, and Devin was so flexible in meeting with me the very next day to create my tattoo.Devin was incredibly calm, respectful, conversational, and was willing to let me have my spouse or one of my best friends come back to sit with us while she created the tattoo. ☺️ Devin was also really efficient yet thoughtful in her creation of the tattoo, and it felt like a true collaboration between the two of us in making this idea a tangible piece of art.I will definitely be back when the tattoo bug bites again! 😉 Many thanks to Devin, Nails, and the rest of the studio for accommodating me and making my birthday tattoo a reality! ❤️

10/10 highly recommended love it here everyone is rad! I just wish I had found Devin sooner I would have even more tattoos!! Go to the shops IG they run specials and are worth looking at the awesomeness that comes out of here.

Lana was so incredibly kind and willing to work with me! This was my first tattoo so I had a lot of nerves and questions and she was always quick to answer and was never judgmental. When I came in to get my tattoo everyone at the shop greeted me with a smile and looked happy to be there! Cannot recommend them enough!!

I was nervous when I first walked to ask for pricing on a tattoo I wanted and honestly Im so glad I went in. Devin did a great job!! And I felt very welcomed.🥰Im definitely going to go back when I get a chance!

On a whim my sister, her partner, and I decided to get tattoos while we were in Birmingham. After a bit of research we found Atra Capra who appeared to welcome walk-ins and had an impressive collection of artists. We were not disappointed! The vibe was very chill and we had a fun time. I worked with Sharon and got a beautiful floral piece.

They took great care of my wife and, best of all, there was the greatest dog of all time there the whole time. Also, Sharon did an amazing job! Highly recommend her. A great artist with a light hand.

Came in with a group of 3 looking for some Walk-in tats.Welcoming, casual, professional and friendly environment. The owner was helpful and friendly and matched us each with the right artist for each of our requests.Had one peice custom drawn up on the fly by Dr Drew, who did a great design and worked quickly and smoothly. It came out great.Devin drew up a quick clean tattoo from reference (a character from a TV show) and tattooed with smooth and steady hand. It came out great.Sharon did a piece from her predrawn portfolio and resized and put on some custom color accents. It turned out great!Three great tattoos for three happy customers by three great artists.

Drew and Nails and Devin made my experience getting my first tattoo super relaxed and easy! Quick work, awesome art, reasonable prices, cool space, good conversation. Drew took a pretty weird idea I had and made it his own and made it better than I could have imagined. Cant recommend them highly enough!!

I’ll put it to you this way: I will ONLY go here for my work. I drive from Atlanta to get my work done by Sharon. The artists are the best and the shop is super clean and low key.

Love this shop! Professional yet laid back artists cranking out solid pieces. Nails and Drew are both very knowledgeable. From tattoo history to application, you can trust these guys know what they are doing and you are getting a great work of art. Prices are very reasonable, tip your artist! Already planning to come back for another piece. Plus easy street parking and convenient hours.

I absolutely ADORED getting tattooed by Lana! They were very professional, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming! I ended up getting an Over the Garden Wall flash Lana had listed on her insta, and GOSH its so pretty! Higly recommend both Atra Capra and Lana!

From start to finish, everything was great! Very clean and professional shop located in the heart of Woodlawn. Nails was very professional with the necessary paperwork, as I was a first time guest. Drew M is my favorite tattoo artist, in a very talented city. He’s personable, efficient, and most importantly, very talented. Can’t say enough good things about this shop.

Walked in and had an idea of a tattoo I wanted to get even though it was a fairly straightforward piece Nails took the time to listen and draw out my piece and even made it better than what I had imagined myself. Will definitely be a return customer in the future. Clean shop and great atmosphere they make you feel welcome in their business not a feeling I’ve experienced at other shops in the past.

Drew at atra capra is the best !!! his style is mostly traditional but i’ve brought many diff kinds of tattoo ideas to him and he’s always been able to do them. best place in bham!!

My husband went in for a small simple tattoo and we were very pleased with our experience! Nails was very patient and professional. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and gave my husband the tattoo that he wanted. Highly recommend this shop!

The artists here are very professional and welcoming. I’ve walked in every time/no problem (I shoot early for walk ins) for the bigger stuff they’ll obviously work with you. Fair pricing too, they don’t play. Newcomer friendly, highly recommended
