I highly recommend Cloud 9 for several reasons: studio is extremely clean, qualifications and experience of the piercers, excellent selection and quality of jewelry, very professional, and an atmosphere that feels comfortable and safe for all. Ive been pierced by Karri and Aimee has replaced my jewelry. The staff is always extremely polite and helpful. I appreciate the detailed policies and instructions provided online...if you read everything and follow the instructions, the whole process is streamlined and stress-free. The appointment system is so convenient! Best place to go in Bham if you want a new piercing or jewelry upgrade!

Aimee is the best piercer I have ever been to! I went to her before she was at Cloud 9 when she did my flat on my ear and have been wanting to get stabbed by her again for so long. She talks through every step, including just screwing on the top of the piercing, and gives very thorough aftercare instructions.The shop itself is very nice as well! The lobby is a nice, open space with a clear view of all the jewelry and the person doing the checkins and jewelry selections is awesome too! My partner and I (Who also got pierced by Aimee and had a great experience) will definitely be back as soon as we can!

I cannot recommend this shop enough! Aimée has done my flat and daith piercings on my right ear (same day), and a conch piercing on my left, and all three experiences were amazing from start to finish. Aimée takes the time to explain the whole process and answers every question in a straightforward and easy-to-understand manner. Cloud 9 Tattoo & Piercing is easily the cleanest establishment Ive ever walked into, and the quality and selection of jewelry are exceptional. Everyone who works there is friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to assist you with whatever you need. They are more expensive than most other places in the area, but, again, the quality of the jewelry and services offered makes the prices more than worth it. Cloud 9s website is also easy to navigate and gives you all the information you need to get started, and their appointment scheduling system is easy and simple to use. I am excited to continue going to Aimée and Cloud 9, and I will continue to recommend them to all of my friends interested in getting new piercings or in upgrading existing ones!

I am so pleased with Cloud 9! It was an amazing experience from start to finish. First the online booking was super easy. The entire shop is by appointment only which allows the staff to properly prepare for each guest. The jewlery selection is extensive and all set in solid gold and the highest grade. Aimee’ AKA Goth Barbie is an absolute gem of a lady and a highly clinical and professional piercer. She walked me through each step of the piercing and provided a comprehensive overview about caring for my piercing for the next year! If you are looking for very professional and comforting experience I highly recommend Aimee’. She champions proper technique and education. I look forward to seeing her again for my jewelry changes and any future holes!

I decided to get 2 piercings: a daith and tragus on the same ear. The shop is clean, well organized, and comfortable. They had a wide array of high quality jewelry to choose from, and a sweet lady (I didn’t catch her name) walked us through what kinds to look at for the piercings we wanted. Everyone there was just as excited as we were! The piercings were easy to get through, enjoyable really. These ladies took the time to make sure we understood the next steps in what to do, and I left the shop feeling confident I had the knowledge to succeed with my first piercings as an adult. Awesome studio! All staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Highly recommend! Aimee Leigh is the best piercer I have been to (and there have been a few). Recently visited Cloud 9 at their new location. Its very clean and the jewelry selection is immaculate.Karri was extremely knowledgeable and she made changes to jewelry done by another piercer. The prices were a bit expensive but worth it. She also pierced my Conch and I did not even feel anything until she inserted the jewelry. Three days later and I still do not feel anything.I did not experience Aimee personally, however, I overheard her with another customer and she was very knowledgeable as well.I highly recommend this place. Best piercers and jewelry in the city of Birmingham.

The knowledgeable staff was SO kind and helpful. They have a great selection jewelry. Since I shop for quality jewelry I was prepared for how much new pieces for my three piercings would cost. I’ve never made an appointment to shop for jewelry, but it was worth the experience and service. I’m hours away, but this shop is worth making the trip a couple times a year!

I absolutely love cloud 9! The staff is so friendly. I got pierced by Aimee Leigh and she was absolutely awesome. She is so thorough with everything. She was so clean and talked me through every step of the process which was so nice and reassuring. She explains everything you need to know leaving no questions unanswered. I first went there to troubleshoot my Tragus piercing from a different place and they replaced my jewlery with high quality ones. They were so nice i went back to get my Daith Piercing.The only complaint I have is that the jewlery prices are expensive to me. And they aren’t included in the piercing price. That is clearly stated in everything and I do understand that the jewlery is higher quality than most places. Just something to keep in mind if you are on a budget. But I do not fault the staff for that so still a 5 star experience.

I am a regular at this establishment. I have 22 piercings, and have been pierced by Aimee 8 times, as well as having her help care for a view of my pre existing piercings. And let me say, they were all perfectly done. They are the most skillful and excellent piercer I have ever met. Each of them have healed well and with significantly less issue and pain than others I have gotten elsewhere. Additionally I have been tattooed by Darla. And again, she is excellent! She does great work for a great price. In addition to giving me an amazing tattoo herself, she fixed an existing piece I have. Both of them provide an excellent experience and talk you through things very well. The jewelry selection is also wonderful, especially if you’re a fan of gold and gemstones. 10/10 would vote again!

I cannot say enough about how awesome and caring Karri is and I highly recommend her for anyone looking to get any piercings done. Absolutely great experience and my only regret is not seeing her sooner in getting my piercing. Karri and her staff are very knowledgeable and how well they treated me was just amazing. A butterfly done decades ago was faded and distorted and needed some TLC. Cloud 9 took me as a walk-in, worked with me on the design and got me back and complete in one afternoon. The atmosphere was welcoming, the artists were knowledgeable and talented. I’m thinking of taking that design up my arm to the elbow…and this will be my first call for service.

I had a great experience. I made my appointment online. I was greeted coming in and quickly helped. I finished my paperwork then picked out my jewelry. The technician thoroughly explained everything and the process didnt take long. Ill definitely be back again.

The studio itself was super welcoming and very pretty the desk lady was an absolute sweetheart and made it very comfortable my piercer Karri was extremely nice and super understanding and friendly definitely recommend and huge jewelry selection

I had an appointment today with Aimée & when I tell you it was the BEST experience I’ve ever had, I can not stress it enough!! They were so professional, very informative, and an absolute JOY to work with! I got to get some back ground of her experience & witness their passion behind why they started. I will absolutely not get piercing done anywhere else, I can not say how amazing it truly was! A must go for any piercing needs!

I went in to have my belly button pierced. I was immediately greeted by Noah, who was very sweet and welcoming. My Piercer was Karri. She was absolutely amazing. Shes very knowledgeable in piercing and went over everything about the process in great detail. She made me feel completely at ease and comfortable while receiving my service. I HIGHLY recommend her. The shop was very clean and professionally set up. This was my first time using Cloud 9, and it was the correct decision for me.

I’ve been here twice now and both times have been amazing! i schedule with Aimee and she always create such a comfortable and welcoming space. they always give lots of helpful tips and she is super honest and communicative throughout your appointment. i recently got my septum done and the experience was a 10/10. this shop also uses super high quality pieces and they have such a fun selection of stuff. definitely recommend this place!!!!

I had such a great experience getting my septum pierced at Cloud 9, specifically because of the wonderful piercer Aimee. They were incredibly personable, and they walked me through the entire process and explained everything in thorough detail. It felt like I was being pierced by a close friend which enhanced the entire appointment experience. Highly recommend this piercer especially if you know little to nothing about piercings (besides the typical earlobe lol).

I went back to Cloud Nine to see Brandy Lee for my 3rd tattoo. And I have to say, I am amazed each and every time with the level of professionalism and courtesy I receive. It starts the minute you walk in the door. And it’s not just Brandy, everyone greets you, Jewel, Emily, even Karri the owner takes time to speak to you and acknowledge you. It’s just a warm friendly environment to walk into. And I think that is important, especially if you are nervous, because, let’s be honest, a tattoo is a BIG DEAL!But back to Brandy.and my new tattoo. She is so attentive and really takes the time to get to know her clients. She knows what I like and what I don’t like, heck, I think she knows me better than I know myself. She is very patient and listens to you. She is so talented and her work is impeccable. She is passionate about her work and it shows. She takes her time and puts her heart and soul into it, right down to the tiniest of details. She is a TRUE ARTIST. I have people stop me ALL THE TIME, asking if my tattoos are real, which I think is a true testament to her craft. I can’t wait to start our next project together!

Aimee is the best piercer I’ve ever been to! They’ve pierced my philtrum, labret, both nostrils, and a helix! I’ve been to them for jewelry purchases, changes, stretch/tapering services, and piercings and it’s always the best experience I could have. I had a few of my piercings downsized and looked at by Aimee and she was fantastic! She’s very thorough and makes sure you’re comfortable every step of the way. You can tell she is VERY passionate about piercings and is there to give you the best advice and care you can get. The other workers (I don’t know their names—I’m sorry!) that were there were also very helpful. There is also a large selection of jewelry that is beautiful! I visited Cloud 9 to be pierced by Aimee Leigh. I initially wanted a tragus, but I trusted my piercer’s opinion on the correct piercing for the anatomy of my ear. The service was fast, sterile, friendly, and comfortable. I ended up getting a flat instead that Aimee suggested, with a beautiful Amethyst (my birthstone) jewelry piece. I am IN LOVE!!! It’s perfect! If you are looking for a quality piercer you can trust that’s friendly, and professional, with a great jewelry selection, look no further and book with her!

I was interested in getting a couple piercings and messaged Karri on FB. She responded very quickly with all the information I could ask for. I went in yesterday to get the piercings and to change out my orbital conch and frontal helix for some of their stunning jewelry. I could not have been happier with the results. Karri did an amazing job on the custom jewellery and the piercings. She obviously knows what shes doing and makes sure everything is done correctly. I am always nervous before getting a piercing (you would think that wouldnt be the case since I now have 15), but Karri did a fantastic job talking me through everything and explaining what she was going to do as well as talking about other things. She was efficient with her time, but made sure to give me all the time I needed, asking if I had any questions and going through everything (what to expect during healing, how to clean, time line for healing, possible things to look for, etc.). She even told me to reach out if anything else came up. I will definitely be back!

Ami did a wonderful job. She was very kind and explained every step in the process of my piercing to me. The atmosphere was very relaxed, extremely professional, and everyone was knowledgeable. The shop was immaculate, and they had a wonderful selection of jewelry.

Karri was so great and Jewel, whose name I hope Im spelling right, was so helpful in showing me the options for jewelry. I had just gotten my nose done at another shop a week prior and my nose ring accidentally came out and I lost it. Jewel showed me a more secure jewelry type that I highly recommend They said if they could get the jewelry in they wouldnt charge me to repierce. Karri was amazing and got the jewelry in with patience and a gentle han . Highly recommend this shop!

Made an appointment day of with “first available” (not from the area and went here on a whim based on reviews). Got there & selected my jewelry then was introduced to my piercer. They were AMAZING! I believe their name was Amy? (Sorry if I got that wrong & addressed you by the wrong pronouns). I’m 2 days out & have had ZERO pain & swelling. Haven’t had any drainage really, and no discomfort whatsoever. 10/10 experience and will definitely be back!!

According to me this is the only place you should visit for your body piercings. You dont have to worry about having to wear boring basic jewelry for 6 weeks or more because the jewelry selection at Cloud 9 is amazing.Go see Karri!!

Septum piercing from A was fantastic. Cool, calm, collected and most importantly informative; but also they are totally the coolest. She totally made the process a pleasant experience. Now to plan more for them to pierce!

Let me start by saying how wonderful and professional everyone is in this shop! Karri did both of my faith piercings a few years ago! Such a beautiful person and a beautiful spirit! Today I met J. Star and he did two small tattoos for me. He was really great to work with and such a star. The process was so easy and his work was 100% spot on!!! Loving my new pieces. I made an appointment for a vertical labret piercing and it was awesome because it was so nice and intimate. I loved Aimée’s process of piecing and 10/10 would recommend especially if you’re nervous.

Karri is professional, quick, and easy to talk to. I am super happy with my piercing and my time with her. Four stars because the pricing could have been more transparent. That being said, I don’t want a bargain when it comes to a piercing- I just don’t want to be surprised.

I enjoyed my first time experience with them! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly unfortunately my deposit wasn’t applied towards the cost of my service and I didn’t notice till checking my receipt. So just be sure to remind them at check out unless you want to give a big tip.

My friend and I went here for our first ever tattoos. It was a wonderful experience all around. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. Emily, our artist, is insanely talented and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her, especially for any first-timers who may be a little nervous. I love my tattoo. Its perfect. Terrible experience. Not kind, or accommodating AT ALL. My daughter (who is a minor) made an appt herself to get her ears double pierced and paid the fee (close to $50) herself to do so. I met her at the store and the lady asked us if she had her birth certificate, which we did not have. She said that it is the law to have the birth certificate and that their policies on their website and reminder emails clearly state that you need this. I fully admit we were in the wrong about that, but since my child had made the appt I was not aware we would need the birth certificate and when I called to ask how we make another appt without paying, again, she said we would have to pay the fee, again. While I understand this policy for some situations, I also think that there are instances when a business could use compassion and common sense in making a judgement on when it may not be necessary to enforce. In this case, when we left they were able to take someone that was waiting to get an extra service they would not have been able to have (so no loss of business) and we weren’t “no shows” and actually wanted to come back and get the service as well as pay for the jewelry that would have been used. The lady could not have been ruder on the phone. We will obviously not be going back there and, quite frankly, it feels like they are ok with taking advantage of kids in their business practices.EDIT: See response below. Not sure why the owner would assume I didn’t talk to my child about not having the correct items needed and also why they would assume my child was upset with the business, which she was not. I genuinely apologize for any loss of business and have already said above we take responsibility for not having required documents. This was about their overall response to the entire situation. Also, I neither yelled nor cursed at anyone. The woman on the phone had attitude with me from the very beginning. But, clearly our account of the events are very different.

Karri was very knowledgeable and helped me get my jewelry changed out after being pierced with too small and lower quality! The reviews saying the jewelry was expensive is what actually drew me here because I wanted a place that was serious about the quality of their jewelry. I just got basic barbells so it wasn’t too expensive to my standards.I will likely be back to get their quality jewelry after my piercing has healed completely. I’d rather know I’m getting the correct size and something that will not irritate, reject, or migrate on down the road.

I guess I may be a bit outside the curve but I expect tattoo artists to be a little... Temperamental maybe is the word Im looking for. It maybe because Im old not sure but anyway. I went to Birmingham to see my lady friend and we made plans to get tattoos together. We went to Cloud 9 and spoke to Donovan and yeah, hes a little rough around the edges. It seemed like an initial thing though, because once we got into the room with him he opened up and it became much more pleasant. He was incredibly thorough and showed a tremendous attention to detail. I was getting my piece done to match one on my opposite arm and he took detailed measurements and points of reference to make it exact. I was also very happy with the price which was less than I paid years ago for a similar job. I dont remember the names of the two ladies in the back area who hung out with us while he was doing the previous job, but they were super friendly also. Without being old and gatekeeper-y, I just personally try to remember that getting a tattoo is not getting a coffee at Starbucks. Our two thousand and whatever year customers are always right attitude is not necessarily the way these places operate. Again when the rubber hit the road I was beyond impressed with his work and work ethic. I will definitely go back for more ink at Cloud 9 w/ Donovan!

If I could give the piercer Kerri 10 stars 🌟 I would. She spent at least an hour helping me with a few piercings. Came in for a faux rook, and a question about another piercing I had. Not only did she help me, she switched out a few piercing with better jewelry. I immediately felt better with the new jewelry in. Jewelry selection is AMAZING!! I will definitely be a repeat customer to finish out my ears. Very professional and clean. I was completely amazed at how she took her time and measured everything to fit my little ears. I definitely recommend. I am completely in love with my new piercing and my new jewelry.

Kari and her staff are always friendly and professional.Wish it was easier to reach them by phone with questions though.Everything is done on the computer.Would also like to order earrings online and then have Kari put them in instead of picking from limited selection in store.

Stopped in with friend looking for specific jewelry... they were rude from the second we walked in the door until we left ... keep in mind we were very polite and simply asked for suggestions since they didnt carry what we needed... both the female and male employee made snide comments .... would never recommend them for anything ... if you have a retail establishment but do not want customers one wonders what they are really doing there ??

I received a nose piercing from Aaron. He was very professional, thorough, and kind. He was the best! He let me know what to expect and provided aftercare information. He was great! Just got a tattoo from here the whole process was great. They are very informative, friendly, and professional. The place is spacious and clean. Everyone I spoke to was curtious and kind they explained anything that was asked no problem. The tattoo I got was even better than I could of imagined. Im extremely happy with the service I got. Daniel is an extremely talented artist as well as easy to work with. Jewell was the one I spoke to about the appointment and she was great too. 10/10 definitely reccomend and most definitely will be coming back in the future for another tattoo, a piercing, or the headshop.

I had Donovan as my tattoo artist. he did such an amazing job and i could not thank him or cloud 9 enough. i talked with many different artists at many different shops around the area before deciding on cloud 9, and Im very happy I chose to come here. donovan spent ample time with me to make sure we got the custom tattoo perfect before he started tattooing. it was my first tattoo, and it was quite large in a painful spot but he made it all worthwhile and talked me through it very well. I will be forever grateful for having this amazing first experience, and I will be coming back here when I get other tattoos

I had a cover-up done by Brandy at Cloud 9 and she did an amazing job!! I had an ugly butterfly tattoo that I hated and she was able to turn it into something beautiful. She finished the whole thing in one sitting which was helpful to me because I live out of town. Getting a tattoo is definitely not the most pleasant experience but she has a light touch. I would definitely recommend her. 😎

My sister and my husband went for tattoos. Both saw Emily. My sister ended up with one and my husband got two the same day. Both said Emily was super nice and all look so good!! I go in two weeks for a consult with Emily. Her work is on point!!

I felt very uncomfortable in there. The front staff was very friendly. However, the tattoo artist, Donovan, put me on edge. He wanted to do the (simple) tattoo his way and wasn’t the nicest or patient of people when discussing what I wanted. The tattoo turned out great though, so he does good work but his bedside manner was mediocre at best. He actually told me not to talk at one point. I was honestly scared at what was going to come out of the session because he didn’t seem to care at all what the end goal was - just get me in and out as fast as possible. I feel like a tattoo is an experience as much as the art, and my experience was poor.

The guys there are very professional but also very laid back. They make you feel welcome and safe and totally at ease. John has done amazing work for my friends with quotes, mariners compasses, birds, etc. Bryan did my tattoo which was a celtic cross and its absolutely beautiful. You really cant go wrong with either man. Theyll take your designs and clean them up and give you their own much improved version or you can pick from the many choices they offer in their shop.This was my first tattoo experience but it certainly wont be my last. Theres a tattoo shop closer to my home but Ill be making the longer trip to Cloud Nine just for another great experience when I get my next 2.

Let me state up front, I have only visited this place once, but I am not here about the establishment. As far as establishments go, it was a tat shop with retail. Been in better, been in worse. I am here to throw a compliment out to one of their young artists, Taylor. Im a Taylor fan, so wherever he is currently working, is my shop of choice.I have plenty of tats, mostly done by different artist, and I have yet to meet one, that did not have some sort of attitude, or quirk. I am not sure I have ever seen an artist at any shop, for more than 6 to 8 months, unless they own the place. All artist are different, and they all move around. For fully involved tats, back pieces, sleeves, find an artist that is stable in the community and just keep track of where he/she is currently working.All of that said, Taylor has a true artistic vision when it comes to ink. I worked with a different artist on an idea for a full back piece. The design took weeks to finalize. After 4 ink sessions, my artist moved out of state. Im a Karma/Destiny guy, so I figured it was meant to be. Keep in mind, its a back piece, I really cant see the design and detail. I get feed back from friends and such, but I cant really see the product. It has to be a trust thing, when you cannot actually verify the work, with your own eyes.Long story short, I stumbled across Taylor, while he was employed at a different shop. (imagine that) He looked at the previous work, cringed, grinned, laughed a little, then threw out the worst thing you want to hear, wow, that ink is ****** up. While most artist shy away from working on another artists work, Taylor took it as a challenge, and went about finding a way to not only fix it, but turn it into a true piece of memorial art. It was a combo finish/cover up job, and he nailed it. Trust me, this piece was in really bad shape, but now, I drop the shirt at any given chance, to display the finished product. If I am looking for outside the box ink, with outstanding results, Ill probably be looking for Taylor.I have always said, if you go into any tat shop, with zero flexibility, you are probably going to be disappointed. Give the artist your idea, and work with them on the final design. Give them the flexibility to use their talent, and you will probably not be disappointed. Lastly, IMO, if you come across someone that claims to be a true artist, and they do not have an attitude, or quirks, they might be misrepresenting themselves.

Donovan is absolutely the best. Hes done 4 of my tattoos and I love them all. The shading and detail he put into my tattoos are impeccable. The staff at Cloud 9 are amazing and very helpful. Im definitely going back to them for any future tattoos. Donovan is amazing tattoo artist and you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Service is hit or miss here. I have been there when there have been extremely cocky, rude individuals working at the counter. Most of the piercers and artists are nice. Aaron is super nice. They used to offer for the piercers to put jewelry in that you purchased; however, last time I was there, the guy at the counter just handed me the baggy with soap in it to clean the jewelry and told me I could put it in myself in the bathroom. I didnt ask for a piercer because the guy didnt seem too interested in helping beyond making the sale.

So professionally done and very thorough—and very, very sweet. I felt more informed and taken care of getting my nose pierced here than I did when I got my nipples done elsewhere, which is just crazy. Just a really great place. I’ll be coming here for tattoos and piercings as long as I’m in Birmingham.

I got a beautiful tattoo from darla back in july of 2022 and i’ve already made a second appointment w them. the tattoo shop itself is nice and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful! i highly recommend.

My tattoo is fine but the attitude there was just so negative. I took a friend to get her first there and they were very judgmental of her tattoo (a religious symbol) and mine (GPS coordinates). I had to fight hard to get my tattoo the way I wanted it because the front desk person seemed to have this whole other idea of how my tattoo should look, despite it being a really simple tattoo. The artist was extremely unfriendly and didnt do anything to help reassure my clearly nervous friend... until she took her shirt off. Then suddenly he had cute little flirty remarks and laughs. I honestly wouldnt have thought anything of his harried attitude because these guys are artists, not customer service reps, until he got all friendly for my topless friend. Super creepy. My first Birmingham tattoo. Definitely going somewhere else next time.

This is a top notch place! It had been many years since I had a tattoo done so I emailed Cloud Nine with some questions. The owner responded quickly and with lots of knowledge. I went in to talk with them about the photo of what I wanted done. The artist redrew the tattoo and it looked 10 times better than what I brought in. Great customer service and am looking forward to getting more ink done at Cloud Nine!

Got my conch pierced here yesterday. The piercer, Karri, was friendly but jewelry and service prices were high (I got titanium jewelry and it was overall about $110). Karri also didn’t show me the mark she made for where the piercing would go before she did the piercing. It’s definitely lower down on my ear than I wanted. I tried to tell her this when she showed me the finish piercing but she didn’t seem to understand. Unfortunately this may have been a waste of money since I might end up taking this piercing out and getting it re-pierced where I want it.

Great artist did a great job on my tattoo but was not friendly at all and was very rude to my wife about her cross tattoo. If you want to be able to converse with the artist while getting a tattoo this is not your place. I will not be back because mainly he was rude to my wife, but also because the guy is not friendly at all.

Donovan is an awesome artist who spent two hours making sure that the size of my tattoo perfectly matched my body. He is respectful and the artwork itself is exactly what I wanted. The dot work was beautifully done and I will continue to go back for more work. I would definitely recommend!

I had the best experience! I wanted a nose piercing and I was very nervous, when I got there everyone was so nice and the guy that did my actual piercing was so understanding.His name was Aaron and he had the most calming voice and his voice actually eased my nerves. He informed me of everything before he did it and it was exactly how he said it would be!

I went to Cloud Nine to get my nipples pierced. As soon as I walked in everyone was very nice to me. Matt did my piercings. He did a great job! He pierced them even which was my main concern. I love them. Matt did an awesome job!!! And they also gave me my after care.

This was my first piercing and the lady who pierced my nose made me feel so comfortable. The pain was a 0.5 for me. It was real quick yet it wasn’t rough either. She informed me on everything that she was doing and going to do. Will be returning soon.

I have to laugh at the people who review and complain about the time it took to get a piercing or tattoo. Come on people, it is a permanent addition to your body. Who wouldnt want the piercer/tattoo artist to take their time?? If you want them to take time with you, you have to be willing to allow them time with others. Before the piercing, she helped me choose the jewelry that fit my ear.... she really know what she was doing. The placements of both my rook and conch were exact and fitted perfectly to my personal ear anatomy. .Cloud Nine has the best reputation locally, and I can see why.The place is super clean and every detail of sanitation was taken seriously. Not only did this make me feel super safe, but it also helped my piercing to heal practically overnight. I was prepared for weeks/months of pain..... but because of the technique and jewelry makeup, I had no pain whatsoever the very next day. I even sleep on both piercings and it has only been three days!!Cloud Nine also has a great array of jewelry to choose from. They order one of their lines from a super cool place in Mexico. I loved the art in the jewelry and plan to replace all my piercings with the artist.If you are getting a piercing or a tattoo..... dont mess around. Go to the best. Dont worry about having to wait an extra 45 minutes because when it is your turn, the same care and attention will be given to your permanent addition. Sit back, relax, and meet some cool people. I had an appointment with Brandy Lee last week. Got my first tattoo. I can’t stop staring at it, it is SO GORGEOUS and everywhere I go, people stop and ask me about it. It is BEAUTIFUL, it was affordable and Brandy is such a delight. Not only is she a professional and truly truly talented, she is genuine, personable and passionate about her work. When looking for a place to have my daughter’s ears pierced, I was referred to Karri at Cloud 9 by the mom of one of my daughter’s friends.Karri was AMAZING!!!! She explained everything before she did it and made my daughter feel so at ease!! Also, we have had absolutely no issues with her ears since they were pierced!! BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I’m super impressed by the service and information I was given today when I visited. I found Cloud Nine on Facebook because I wanted a second opinion on my forward helix piercing and I wanted to get the earring in that piercing downsized. From Facebook, I saw a link where you could schedule appointments for piercing services so I scheduled an appointment for a jewelry purchase and change out. When you buy jewelry from here, they will put it in for you at no cost on the day of your purchase.I had never been here before, but it was easy to find. It’s really close to Woolworth. There was a parking spot available right in front. I went in and was immediately greeted and asked how I could be helped. I told them I had an appointment with Karri. I was shown the jewelry options and y’all...they have a great variety. I love that they have Neometal jewelry! I had a nice conversation with the ladies at the counter. Super nice!After I finished chatting with the ladies, I paid for my new earring. Karri came and got me a few minutes later. I told her about my concerns with the jewelry I was pierced with and she gave me some great information. My new earring looks so much better and I’m confident my piercing will continue to heal nicely.When I feel the urge to get a new piercing, I’m coming here to see Karri. She’s knowledgeable and friendly!

Worst experience I have ever had at a tattoo shop. I have gotten approximately 10 piercings over the course of my life, and I have never experienced anything so infuriating. If you are looking to get a piercing, I suggest you go somewhere else unless you have 4 or 5 hours to spare. The pierces are actually quite good. However, the receptionist is frosty. It took her over 10 minutes just to acknowlwge my existence in the shop. Furthermore, because the shop does not take reservations, unless you get in when the place first opens there is no telling how long you will have to wait. The receptionist is not truthful about wait times so you will look up and its already been two or three hours. The only reason I didnt get my money back and walk out is because I had already invested damn near 6 hours over 2 days in order to get the piercing. SERIOUSLY, dont waste your time. Go somewhere else.

I was a walk-in on Monday, July 22nd. Their lady at the front counter, Jewel, was very friendly and welcoming. She was knowledgeable and helped me pick out my jewelry. Most shops seem to have a very limited selection of jewelry but theirs was outstanding. Very beautiful high quality pieces. Aaron did an inverted vertical labret piercing for me (sometimes called an Ashley) with a threadless Neometal stud. His bedside manner was great, made me feel relaxed and comfortable and he was very thorough with great attention to detail. The end result is beautiful and I’m thrilled. Can’t wait to come back. I found my new piercing home

I tried to go here to get a simple piercing in each of my earlobes. Not only did they not have ANY of the jewelry I liked, they charge an additional $30 per ear on top of the $60 you already pay. Honestly, if you’re going to go somewhere go to Classic 13.

Have been going to Cloud Nine for tattoos and jewelry for five years now. They are always super awesome, friendly, clean, and professional. I also appreciate the measures they’ve taken with masks and social distancing to keep everyone safe during these uncertain times

I went here to get my tragus pierced, and the atmosphere is great. Everyone was helpful and kind. Aaron did the piercing, and he was great. I waited to write this until it healed, but I had no problems at all. The whole thing was seamless and smooth-sailing.

I would not suggest anyone going to this place unless they want their time wasted period. I have been here three times this week and no service. The first time I waited 45 minutes for one person to just pick a set when she could have took care of me while the other lady was looking. Second time I arrived they was not open on time and the third well lets just say that I was told I need a appointment after I keep having to wait on them. I will never come back and every time I hear some one speak of this place I will tell them dont waste their time or money. They need more staff or just close period.

Tattoos turned out great. But the artist was a real... Ill just say not a nice guy. Signs everywhere warning you not to do this or that. Prices were very high, but you pay for good work. Wont go back, simply because I didnt like the attitudes. Plenty of good artists out there. Just do your research.

Customer service is horrible. I recently purchased some smoking accessories (dab bowl and glass nail) and the employee seemed to be in a hurry to get away from helping me even though there were no other customers in the store. The best part is the pieces she sold me did not fit together after I was assured they would. When I contacted the store the same day they informed me of their no return policy on smoking accessories which would be completely understandable if their employee did not assure me it would work after i asked profusely. This makes it very hard for me to support local businesses.

You cant ask for a more positive experience than that which you have at Cloud Nine Southside.I only trust Donovan to do my tattoos. He goes the extra mile to make sure the artwork is perfect. I love working with him so much that I refer other people to him.

I recently passed by the store with ideas and pictures, ready to speak with an artist about my potential tattoo. Upon entering Cloud Nine, the staff seemed upset that their personal conversation would have to wait. Nevertheless, I made my way to the back, where the tattoo section of the shop is. There, I waited, but never spoke to an artist before leaving. I did see a gentleman, who appeared to be a tattooist, but he didnt acknowledge my presence. Instead he went into the back, and did not emerge again. However, the first gentleman I saw, when I walked in the front door, asked me if I had pictures of what I had in mind. I told him that I did, but that I wanted to show them to the artist, so that we could discuss ideas. (I wanted a custom piece like most people... they were going to quote me simply by looking at reference material.) The artist refused to meet with me, which is okay, because I dropped in without notice. However, what really ticked me off was that Cloud Nine refused to set up a general meeting so that I could come in the next day to speak with an artist. Instead, I was told that I would need to put down a deposit if I wanted to schedule a short meeting to discuss my potential tattoo. ---- The customer service at Wicked Ways Tattoo, right next door is 1000X better! -----Anyways, business must be booming at C9 b/c they are not eager to acknowledge nor entertain potential new clients.

Karri did an AMAZING job! I took my 14 year old daughter to get two helix piercings. Karri has a very calming presence and took her time explaining everything. My daughter stayed calm and said it didn’t even hurt that much. I watched for the normal safety concerns any parent would have and Karri did everything to my expectations and I watched her wrap everything she used and throw it all away when she was done. I felt confident in the cleanliness and safety standards. If we ever decide to do any other piercings, we will definitely be going back to Karri.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!I am actually from Houston where there are TOP NOTCH studios all around town but I had always struggled to find a tattoo studio that I would trust to even do simple work on me when I came to visit family in Bama. Sometimes we would drive to Tenessee just to get 15 minute tattoos.... BUT... Last time I was here we took a chance and came here to get some work done with my nephew and we both immediately claimed this will be our go to place in Bama! The shop is nice and clean. Customer service is great. Donovan is friendly and professional. I was so pleased that I am traveling 800 miles back to get one of his large custom pieces done. This is currently the ONLY shop in the Birmingham/Northeast Alabama area that I would recommend! Great place and great work.

Came in to get some CBD oil and information on my existing vape battery. Sarah who I have known over a decade was very kind over the phone and very helpful when I arrived. Her customer service was incredible. I finally have the relief and knowledge Ive been searching for.

I wanted to get a simple lobe double piercing. I called befor had to ask about pricing and availablity. The reciptionist said that I would have to come in to look around and receive a better estimate. I came in 20 minutes later and I was told after I made the trip and the lady who does the piercings would not be there until 4:00 pm. I felt that it was a huge inconvenience and disappointment that they did not have the staffing to provide a simple piercing during their open hours. I also was upset that I was not told during my phone call the times of when I could get a piercing. If you are looking for a place to get pierced when they say the are open, do not go here because they are deceptive.

I got my industrial piercing and my eyebrow piercing from Cloud Nine. I was so happy with the result. Matt explained every part of the procedure, counted to three and they bother were over. I was so surprised at how professional and amazing Cloud Nine is. I will be 18 soon and plan to get my first tattoo very soon. Ill never go anywhere else!!!!!!!!

Very efficient, clean, and comfortable. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful, not arrogant or condescending, which oddly I often find in places like that. Oh yeah, I had a nose piercing. Of course it stung a little initially, but it has healed well and im looking forward to getting more bling😂

Extremely rude sales associate as well as manager. The products are cheap and poorly made and you will be stuck with it since there is no refunds and no exchanges. When I tried to speak with a manager about my product he proceeded to yell at me from behind the counter in front of other customers and was just extremely rude and unprofessional. There are plenty other places where you can go in Birmingham and get better product and better customer service.

Cloud Nine has been around forever and hosts some of the coolest stuff, including but not limited to smoking accessories. I love to shop here for clothes when I have the coins, and much prefer the casual atmosphere of Cloud Nine to newer, more bougie spots in Bham

The tattoo that I got was absolutely nothing like what I asked for. It doesnt even deserve the one star honestly. The tattoo looks like a child drew it with marker on my leg. I will never come back here. I got the bad tattoo here, and about two hours later, I went to tattoo jungle and made it look 1000% better! I wish I could upload photos to this because my tattoo was truly ridiculous. Do not recommend!!

Donovan wasnt very helpful. I would definitely choose a different artist. He mustve been having a bad day...or something.

Wanted to get a tattoo together with my wife, but they wouldnt let us be in the room together. Nope.

Had to wait a while to get my tattoo, but the artist knew what he was doing and had been tattooing for over 25 years. Id recommend highly

The tattoo artist wasnt in but the ladies who were in, running the store, were very helpful, and took the time to talk to my wife and I. So while I didnt get a tattoo yesterday, I will be using them this weekend.

I really enjoyed it. I got a spider bite piercing and everyone there was really nice. I would highly recommend.

I love their services however I wished their jewelry wasnt so expensive.

They will lie to u to get u to by products that do not work. Then when u call to talk to them they dont want to help u.. very poor place to go i will not ever spend money with them again..
