Saw some piercing deals on Facebook and saw the tattoo deals from earlier dates and thought it would be fun to get some dermals! Me and my sister decided we wanted small matching tattoos as well but weren’t as decided on that. I inquired about nips but didn’t decide until I’d gotten there haha. At first when I got there I was a little confused on where we were, and we had to wait about 30 mins for the people to come to open shop after a 45 min drive there. When we did get in, we filled out health paperwork online and had a good conversation with my piercer! Before starting anything we asked about payment methods a if card was taken. She was amazing and made me feel so comfortable and was very quick with piercing me, even in more sensitive areas. Her pricing was clear and understood and her payment even sent me a receipt and thank you! However, getting our first tattoos, we felt as though the situation wasn’t as clear or concise with that artist. Pricing on the fb page was different than established, and although understood one price, repeated as $20 each, the price increased to $200 after the tattoos. Understandable that time was spent and suggesting misunderstanding, both tattoos that are about 2 1/2 inches each (measured) only took about two minutes per tattoo. In a place unfamiliar and a seemingly hostile situation , the money was paid and the artist even tipped an extra $20 (to make sure the air was clear), but I just can’t help but feel the situation was unclear, slightly manipulated, and almost unprofessional. What’s done is done, so me and her have something together that we will for the rest of our lives. But, as first timers to a tattoo experience, after talking to other people with tattoos and experiences from other shops, I can’t help but feel like we got the veil pulled over our heads with this one. All in all this was the only tattoo I’ve wanted on my body, so no changes will be made and i probably won’t go to a shop for a tattoo again. I rank this shop a 2 purely for the sweet communication made between the person running the social media while the piercer was behind, and how kind, understanding, quick, and professional my piercer was. But the tardiness, unprofessionalism, and hostility couldn’t be ignored. Go to a tattoo jungle if u want something small, or even unhallowed. It’s what I wish we did. I say if u want some jewelry quick and easy with someone who makes you feel at home, go to pain freaks and get them to hook you up, but other than that, you’ll be better somewhere else.

Friday 13th tattoo special going on so of course it’s moderately busy.. however, I waited over 30 mins for the person that was supposed to tattoo me when I was told initially it would be about 10 mins.I ended up just leaving because I’m not even from any part of Alabama but wanted to give this place a shot before heading back home. That definitely didn’t sit too well with me as a first time potential returning customer. I’m not sure now if I’d like to return based on this experience

I had an incredible experience with Genesis at Pain Freaks. She crafted matching father-daughter tattoos for me and my daughter, and we absolutely love them. Genesis’s skill and attention to detail were exceptional, and her friendly demeanor made the whole process enjoyable. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for beautiful, meaningful tattoos. His original designs are a testament to his creativity, and he efficiently completed my extensive tattoo session within three hours. I love it here. This is gonna be the new place where I get my piercings and my first tattoos! They are clean. They are friendly and they have a very laid back environment. Nothing but good vibes! I recommend this place to all of my friends as well as tell them to follow them on their social media so they are aware of the amazing sales that they have throughout the year!

Worst piecing ever the lady Cherri messed up me and my friend our jewelry was to small we both had to go to good neighbor to get the jewelry removed I had gotten a Christian jewelry in my private my jewelry was to small and my skin grow over the ring and she used the wrong ring

Lindsay Perry is the best. She did a black and grey scale realistic lion head tattoo on my upper arm and I absolutely love it so much. All of my family and friends love it too its literally perfect 🥰 the staff is so nice and the place is clean. They also have a painting area , its so nice to look at all the wonderful artwork they do. I highly recommend it and I recommend seeing Lindsay she has really great prices, shes a wonderful sweet person, and her work is so good. I seen some rude reviews from a few years ago but I just wanted to let yall know that my experience was great and Ill definitely be going back again for my next tattoo 😊

Never a bad experience. Marc and Tae are two of the hottest artists in Birmingham. When you walk in there is a friendly comfortable atmosphere. Yes its in the hood an inside a shopping center so there are people walking about that has nothing to do with the shop (because its a shopping center) an even though its in the hood this is a very safe area its patrolled by several Birmingham officers constantly. We know life happens but these guys are human like everyone else an also reserve the right to refuse services to anyone whether u made a deposit or not! These guys are highly professional an the place is always clean an neat. Not to mention you can get all your STRAPPED GEAR on site at this location which is also a big plus! If u want wine an to be babied go somewhere else! This place is one of the best shops in the city! Very professional even when customers get out of pocket! I give 10 stars if I could!

I got my tongue pierced today and I great customer care and she was super fast and I hardly didn’t feel a it. I definitely would recommend anyone to go get a piercing there. 😊☺️

This Is my second time coming to this particular tattoo shop to have a tattoo done. My first and second experience were exactly the same making a appointment, paying my deposit and waiting more than a hour to even be shown my design for the tattoo. I try to support all businesses but after this experience this will my last time supporting this particular location. Customer service is poor. The tattoo artist did say it would be a 30 minute wait but that turned into a two hour wait with no one apologizing or anything for the long wait.

If I could give no stars I would , I NEVER leave reviews for places , but because this one in particular wasted my time and money , I must share my experience...first I made and appointment and paid a deposit in a week advance...when I got to the hood , I mean the tattoo shop, I was greeting with a bunch of teens outside hanging out, as I walked in there was one girl and her mother on the couch talking to a tattoo artist...no receptionist present (at this time) . The tattoo artist assisting the girl asked me who I was there for , I told him he looked confused as if I wasn’t supposed to have an appointment at all, told me to sit down , and there I would be sitting until it was time for my appointment (mind you I haven’t done any paperwork my tattoo artist hasn’t went over my design let alone greet me ) so I’m sitting in the chair for 2 hours way past my appointment time.. out walks the receptionist from the back, we do my paperwork, I finally meet my tattoo artist and they allow me to sit at the computer with them and go over the design...something that either should have been done days prior or in the 2 hrs that I was sitting there...after the design is complete... hold up let me mention there was a young woman up there with us the whole time no idea who she is may have worked there idk my artist tells me he has to take her before me....so when he (they) step to the back for at least another hour comes back and tells me he can’t to my tattoo at all today ...I played it off and scheduled another appointment...but my experience was trash the staff was trash and the place is tacky ...what brought about me writing this review is that my friend is getting a tattoo today same artist and her experience is the exact opposite...she didn’t even have to pay a deposit. ...My advice to your staff is to read a business book take a class on customer service, be more aware of the customers around you and remember that although you work in a fun environment, that there is still work to be done MONEY to be made and people to satisfy.
