STUDS Back Bay

I’ve gone to studs four times now and each time has been really great. I got my helix and conch pierced at the same time and they did a great job with those. I had issues with my conch piercing (extreme swelling) and I came in and they immediately changed it out for a longer post at the back at no charge. I also had issues with my helix after I switched to a hoop years later, and they were able to help me immediately and take out my hoop for me and insert a flatback nearly painlessly (it was extremely painful when I tried to do it). They also refunded me the jewelry charge for the hoop because they had recommended a size previously that was too small and they didn’t charge me for the visit. The piercers are always super friendly and helpful.

I got a second piercing on each lobe this week and I absolutely *loved* the experience! STUDS is so fun, it makes getting your ears pierced such a fun and vibey experience. My piercer was so kind and there were no surprises, I was totally relaxed the whole time. They have a great selection of studs to choose from for your piercing. Planning on going back for a third this spring!

My 13 y/o had her ears re-pierced at Studs and I will never go anywhere else. Ease of appointment making online, great and helpful staff, and a clean environment at a comparable price to mall stores (depending on choice of jewelry). We will be back.

Great service, very clean and sterile, and cute place, and kind staff. I went here to first get a daith piercing but unfortunately did not have the anatomy for it, but the staff was super kind and helped me choose another option- which worked for my ear shape the helix. Although I was super indecisive they were still very patient with me. 9/10

Disappointed in this experience overall. After sanitizing/ prepping my ear, my piercer left the room to retrieve new jewelry for whatever reason without re-sanitizing. The piercer didn’t seem too confident and made me really second guess my decision. This is my 11th ear piercing and this was the first that didn’t clean my ear afterwards. I get sometimes bleeding is involved, but this one has been bleeding way more than i’ve experienced and it was only a lobe piercing. Friends and I were told we’d be getting back to back piercings together with the same piercer and that wasn’t the case. The second group waited quite a bit of time. I understand others might have had appointments but don’t tell us one thing and do the other. Felt like a glorified Claire’s. I recommend going to any APP certified piercing studio over Studs if you really want a good experience

I went to get my both helix pierced. The piercing technician was so friendly and put me at ease. I was nervous since I didnt know how much it would hurt but the technician walked me through the procedure and even asked me to breathe I was informed that she would pierce it when I exhaled. I didnt feel any pain, it was so quick. Now 3 months post-piercing, my ears are healing very well. The staff who helped me puck jewelry was also super friendly.

I went to studs for a daith piercing in July 2023 and had a positive experience. I was pierced with a barbell and wanted to replace it with a hoop once it finished healing so I could wear earbuds.I returned to Studs in July 2024 and explained to the technicians that I wanted to replace the barbell with a permanent hoop- a “one time” purchase I said. I chose the 14K gold since I wear gold earrings and knew I should not have to replace the hoop again after this change.When the technician went to remove the barbell, I asked if I could see the hoop she was replacing it with first. I had no choice, she just chose a 10mm 14K gold hoop. I told her it looked too big and asked if she was sure I could wear earbuds with it. She said yes and assured me it would be fine. I trusted her as the expert.Once she replaced the barbell with the hoop, my previous concerns became real. The hoop was way too large and I was not happy with it. She said she could not change the piercing again for another 3 months, so I would be stuck with the hoop until then.When the manager asked about my experience, I told her I was unhappy and the hoop was too large. She offered to put my barbell back in, which confused me since the technician said I had to wait 3 months. Another employee said I can come back in 3 months and just get another gold hoop. I was frustrated and explained that this was supposed to be a one-time change, and I would refuse to pay $140 for the jewelry today and again 3 months later! At this point I just wanted to get out of there.The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars is because my July 2023 experience was positive. Days later, I tried wearing an earbud, and it will not fit. So now I am stuck with an earring I never wanted, $140 down the drain, and I can’t wear earbuds which was the entire rationale to switch from the barbell.I reached out to customer service asking for a refund after this incident and expected a response within a day or two, per the reviews here. I was not going to post a Google review if Studs responded and rectified the issue. It has been several days with no response. I followed up and said I would file a dispute with my credit card if I didn’t hear back by the end of the week. Extremely unhappy and disappointed with my experience onsite and with customer service.

Incredible experience! I went in today wanting a certain piercing but my piercer was so honest letting me know she didn’t think that would fit my anatomy well even if it meant I wouldn’t get anything. I ended up getting another place and it was seamless!

The whole process was super calm and very easy. Berline, my piercer, was very kind and informative about the process, walked me through everything, and helped me breathe through the piercing itself. I got a conch and a stacked lobe. They are perfect. Highly recommend.

I had the best experience at Studs Back Bay location this past Memorial Day Weekend! I had Berline as my piercer and she pierced my first Helix piercing! She could not have been more kind and gentle and provided great service through the whole process. Then I went down to the shop area where I was helped so kindly by someone to get the perfect earring for my lobe piercing to match my new helix look! Will definitely be going back!

I’m so disappointed, they botched my piercing. Went in and got three lobe piercings and one was done at the wrong angle. I didn’t know at first but it felt really tight in the days afterwards and was digging into to back of the cartilage of my ear. Went in for a checkup five days later and the kind piercer (who was not the original piercer) informed me that it was botched and had to be removed. They gave me a refund buy not enough to cover the cost if I wanted to go back and get it re-pierced by them (which I’m still on the fence about). I’m so bummed because now I have to wait 2 months until I can get it repierced because it has to heal. in the meantime, I’m walking around so imbalanced with one side having three lobe piercings and the other having one. I’m gutted, and so far customer service hasn’t responded to my email. As it stands with how things went, I couldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Looking at the other one star comments here, piercing at the wrong angle seems to be a common issue.

I had the best experience getting my second lobe piercings done by Casey! My original lobes were done elsewhere and a little crooked, so Casey took great care to ensure the second holes were even and fit my earlobes. Everyone in the store was masked, helpful, and knowledgeable. Everything was communicated clearly and professionally from the jewelry options to the piercing process, aftercare, and prices. I would recommend checking out the piercing jewelry selection online beforehand if you cant make a decision quickly, because each appointment is only 20 minutes!

I was nervous for my first piercing but the whole process was very smooth and friendly even though they were busy! Rhiannon was a delight a made me feel very seen and at ease.

Easy process and good selection of jewelry in different price ranges. Piercer walks you through everything so no surprises. Clean and bright store much more relaxing than most piercing shops. Only downsides to me are no jewelry with diamonds/genuine stones and you can only do two piercings at a time which counts for getting both lobes. I understand for safety on some of the other parts of the ear but it seems a little silly to me to not be able to get both lobes in addition to another piercing.

Had a great experience getting my conch pierced by Nahjah, she was very knowledgeable and friendly and made sure to walk me through the entire process and check in with me throughout. She was also very clear about aftercare and how long the healing process will take and what to do if I have any concerns. The staff working the desk were friendly and helpful as well. The only issue is the people working the sales desk up front are hit or miss—they are either friendly and helpful or standoffish and bored. When I checked out after my piercing everyone was welcoming, but when I went back later to buy some earrings, I felt like I would have had a warmer reception from a chat bot on their website than the person showing me the jewelry. It won’t deter me from returning for future piercings, but I now know who to avoid when I walk in the store.

My roomate and i went to STUDS back bay yesterday. she got a cartilage on her left ear and i got two on my right. the place was so clean and inviting, the staff was all so lovely, and our piercer, Jess, did a fantastic job, including answering all of my paranoid questions, telling me exactly what’s going to happen, making conversation when we first met, asking about my piercing history, asking my preferences on placement and jewelry, asking if i wanted the needle completely hidden the entire time (which i did and i never saw it), i could go on and on. i’m so excited to go back with my roomate in five months for our downsize because i will definitely be getting more piercings in my other ear!!!

Had such a good experience!!! Came in spontaneously and got some piercing and got great advice and service! Everyone was so sweet and helpful, I would highly highly recommend

Awesome experience! Truly pain-free. I worried about the pain of getting my helix pierced, but Nahj made me feel calm and was such a professional. The whole process was seemless, and I now love my new piercing. Clean facilities and helpful staff. Ill be back again soon!!!

Great experience! I was able to book a same day appointment which was great! Got my piercing done by Jaden today and she was amazing. Her station was very clean and I liked the little touches she had (stress balls, candy, juice/water, glucose tablets if needed).

Recently stopped in to buy a new earring for my cartilage, and Noelle and the other sales associate were super friendly and helpful when I kept being indecisive. Wanted to let you know that the hoop fits, Noelle!!

Studs peirced my 15yo kid yesterday and they were amazing. Jess, the peircer, was very professional, explained the process, and why a specific peircing wouldnt work w her ear shape, etc. The blonde at the front desk helped me compete the permission form as my phone was glitching and she was lovely. Thirty years ago when I worked at a hip shop on Newbury St I wasnt nearly as friendly and helpful. Kuddos to Studs for being accessible, kind, and cool.

I went recently as a birthday treat to myself. First they were working in a super hot building that made me dizzy at first. I was looking forward to getting moon earrings because they are my favorite and I saw they had them online. When I showed up they didn’t have them though which was disappointing. I ended up with stars that were okay but still 160 dollars for something I wasn’t thrilled to get. Then the piercing experience wasn’t great I honestly think it hurt more than my Claire’s one as a child. And I’ve also had my helix done at a real tattoo shop and that was painless. The women who pierced me seemed not super comforting and didn’t get my piercing in on one fail swipe she had to push several times to seemingly get the needle through and didn’t apologize at all. She then tried to get the earring on and couldnt had to have clamps against it which put it in at an odd angle and bent the 160 dollar piercing. I was needless to say not super thrilled. I paid and left but would not recommend going here. I included picture of the side that got messed up to me and how the post doesn’t sit right compared to the other side with much more space you can also see the bruising the side got. I am a super shy person and was hoping to have a better experience than I did sadly.Update:The customer service was actually very nice. It was hard to explain the details of my issues but I could tell the person I was speaking with was trying to help me out. They refunded me for the piercing experience and one earring.

Came here on my friends 40th for some moms who don’t get out much fun. Since it’s on Newbury st and I made the Apts well in advance, I was expecting an upscale experience and it felt more like Claire’s at the mall with upscale prices (only worse). The staff was really rude and lacked adult people skills. We showed up late because I received a confirmation text for the second apt in our group and not the first, I physically showed the manager my phone and she said “it’s a process error and has nothing to do with us” and cancelled half of our apts like this made any sense, seeing this was a “process error” why was this our fault?? Then the piercer pierced my friends face (literally) and while it was bleeding refused to remove it until she paid full price. This was one of the worst experiences of customer service I’ve ever seen in my life. Save your money, go to Claire’s!

Ali was great!I got a midi lobe and front helix and she talked me through the whole process, made sure I knew what step she was on and we chatted about work and school as a distraction. Couldn’t recommend her more!

Took my teen for 2nds. She was nervous. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly and her piercer was awesome! Great experience. Will be back!

I’m such a huge fan of studs and have been pierced there many times. usually the people working there are cool but one of the people at the front desk (asian with hair tired back) today was super off putting and rude to other customers. she just looked like she didn’t want to be there. the other person with the beads in their hair was super nice and cool but the vibes were just off because of that one person

STUDS has a great selection of cute jewelry and the earscapes have nice options for a fraction of the cost. I will say however be cautious if you plan on getting a piercing. My piercer was super nice but unfortunately gave me a crooked lobe piercing that failed/bled after 5 months of babying it. I went to a local piercer for a second opinion and they told me my piercing was done poorly. Luckily STUDS reimbursed me but it was a bit disappointing they didn’t catch this at my checkup appointment! Love the jewelry though.

Wanted to get back into wearing earrings again. Decided to go and get my ears pierced the first time in a very long time in years. Pain is definitely different the older you get. I needed up getting my helix pierced. My piercer was very good with preparing me for when she did it. I also purchased some jewelry for my already pierced ears and love it.

My first time here, I had an okay experience. I really liked the piercer, but the people working the counters were not pleasant. I didn’t think much of it until my second time visiting. I was a few minutes late to the appointment and received an email that my appointment was cancelled upon arriving. I was a bit confused and asked the woman working the counter if it was just possible to do the one piercing instead of getting the two I planned on. I understand I was a few minutes late, but traveling in the city can be hard sometimes with things like trains times and traffic being out of my control. She was rather rude about it and told me she could reschedule me but I would have to pay the service fee still. I have multiple piercings and it has never taken more than 5 minutes to get one. She insisted I needed to read their policy better and was overall just unprofessional about the situation. I can understand that they have a 5 minute grace period (which is horribly short and ridiculous as is), but I never received my reminder email and the text I received never mentioned their 5 minute grace period policy. Overall they lost business and a customer. I will never be going back because the staff just is not friendly. My guess is this is how they make all their money. I’d rather go to a place where they pierce for free (or cheaper) and just pay for the jewelry especially since this place is extremely OVERPRICED.

My visit to studs was super spontaneous and i didn’t have an appointment but the woman at the front was super nice and said there was a piercer who had time for one piercing. she helped me pick out a flatback stud that matched the rest of my jewelry and aesthetic and then i went to my piercer in about twenty minutes. y’all, highly recommend jess she was so sweet and conversational and my piercings (which she ended up being able to do two since she was so speedy !) were done in literally ten minutes. everyone was so kind and i totally recommend taking some time to stop by !

Stopped by Studs a couple of weekends ago. I went in because I have two helix done in mid February that have been causing me pain and not healing properly. The helix piercings were done at a different location - not Studs. The receptionist let me know that helix piercing can take 6-9 months for them to heal. She also stated that whoever did my piercings used hoops which prevent for proper healing and they should have know better. She then showed me which piercings I should purchase and suggested and change them asap. They did not have any more openings for the rest of that day which I was sad about. I wish they would have squeezed me in even if I had to wait. She asked i go back to the place that did my piercings so they could remove them. I proceeded to take out the piercings myself that night. I would not go back to the same place to remove or exchange piercings knowing that they seem to not know what they were doing in the first place. Since changing the jewelry both my helix are healing great. Happy to have received the correct information when it comes to jewelry and healing time.

I took my daughter here to get her ear pierced and the staff was super nice. It is a very clean and professional environment. My daughters ear was pierced by Jess, who was very personable and knew all the ins and outs of the process and aftercare. Most importantly she was super quick, my daughter barely felt any pain. Shes already thinking about her next piercing!!!

I had such a positive experience at STUDS! My first appointment was sadly cancelled, but they offered me a really generous discount to reschedule that I appreciated. My piercer was Berline and they were incredibly professional and helpful! They helped me pick a piercing that was right for me, walked me patiently through the entire process, and continued to check on how I was feeling throughout the appointment. I feel very secure in taking care of my piercing thanks it their instructions. I will absolutely be coming back for additional piercings!

ZERO regrets! I got a helix and midi piercing on my right ear about a week ago from STUDS Back Bay, and it was such a great experience! The staff and piercer were so courteous, kind and professional! Jaden was super helpful in helping me with the placement using a reference image I had, and she even helped me pick out my initial earrings! It was a painless and overall great experience, I highly recommend!!!I had a bit of an accident on the train a few days ago that caused insane trauma to my ear. The swelling got so bad that I wanted a check-up appointment today just for sanity reasons.There werent any appointments available online, but I reached out via email and was helped almost IMMEDIATELY. They even set up an appointment for me the day-of my inquiry!!!Jess was able to help me within minutes of my arrival! She helped clean up my ear and upsized my helix and practically SAVED my ear!!! The earring would have been embedded otherwise!Im beyond thankful for this staff and their professionalism and personableness! I have nothing but good words for them. C:

I got two piercings at the Studs Back Bay in September. Today, the front piece of the earring in one of the piercings popped out. Thankfully, I happened to be right across the street from the Studs store. I frantically ran over (in a bit of shock and pain) and the employees assured me that they would help. I told them what had happened and that the earrings in both of my piercings kept getting snagged on my hair and clothes. Because there were no more available appointment today, I was fearful I would not be able to be assisted. However, they immediately offered to downsize the post and provided me a new earring on the spot.Thank you for caring about your customers and being so solution-oriented! I can’t wait to visit this location again.

We had a great experience at Studs Back Bay. Three of us got pierced by Berline together and she was helpful, friendly, and professional. She patiently answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable. It was extremely clean and the piercing process was clearly explained and executed. The selection of both piercing jewelry and fashion jewelry was excellent and all three of us left with the items we were hoping for. The mystery machine was also a fun addition! Overall, our experience was amazing and we will definitely be back!

Had a great experience getting my second piercings here! Elio was very friendly and knowledgable, and the entire process was thorough and clean. I appreciated that they took a lot of time to discuss aftercare, as my skin is very sensitive and I have to be very careful with piercings and the jewelry I wear. Would highly recommend this place, prices were fair and comparable to other spots as well.

Had a great experience getting pierced this weekend at the Back Bay studio. Jasmine was friendly and walked me through everything as it had been many years since I had my ears pierced previously. The process was efficient and the studio was very clean. Highly recommend.

Studs is the best piercing experience Ive ever had. I got my second lobe piercings here and love the results. It was clean and everyone was very polite. I ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes for my appointment, and to apologize they gave me a 20% discount on my piercing. I honestly wasnt even upset about waiting but was so thrilled to get the discount that Ill definitely be going back.

I impulsively booked a last minute appointment to get a new piercing and I showed up, it was so easy! Everything was clean and simple and my piercer Oyade was so nice. I definitely recommend going there! I also love all their jewelry and can’t wait to buy new earrings from there when I’m able to switch them out

Best customer service I genuinely have ever received and I have worked in restaurants and retail for years. Give Ashley a raise!! I went to the Newbury St location to get earrings as a present to myself for my birthday. I had just come from getting my cartilage pierced at Claire’s which was a huge mistake. I was chatting with Ashley and one other stellar employee whose name I did not grab. They were patient while I decided which jewelry I wanted and we got to talking. I said I was looking for jewelry for my birthday, I wanted to get a piercing but I’m not sure if they did it right. As soon as I showed them my piercing, Ashley told me I should take it out, call them back and get my money back because it was so crooked. Not only did she give me that advice without making me feel dumb, she literally offered to (and actually did) call them for me and helped me get my money back. She went so above and beyond for me. Studs, you neeeeed to give Ashley a raise. Forever shopping here and getting all future piercings here because of this amazing experience.

The girl that did my piercing was incredibly helpful in walking me through the process of getting the piercing and making me feel calm. All of the staff were incredibly nice and patient. The pricing is pretty average too, I payed about $100 and that is a pretty good deal for 2 piercing. Overall would recommend!

I was very unhappy with my recent experience and the way my piercings from Studs looked (midi snakebite helix pierced 6/11). When I got home I noticed that backs of the earrings were really angled where they should have both gone straight through. I went back two days later to have the top piercing fixed but was repierced at the opposite angle to the bottom piercing (picture attached).I knew this was not right so I went to another piercing studio in Boston to have them looked at. I was told that, in addition to severe bruising, the piercings were not done correctly and due to the angles of the piercings they would never heal properly. I had both piercings removed and my ears will need to heal for a couple months before I am able to get them pierced again.Additionally, my appointment felt very rushed like they were just trying to churn through appointments. The piercer did not seem very experienced or knowledgable, nor were there any certifications or accreditations hanging on the walls (a red flag). Studs customer service was responsive and issued me a refund but I would NOT recommend getting pierced here to anyone.

I love studs. The booking is easy and everyone there is so cool. Plus it’s the fastest healing piercings I’ve ever had and the free check ups are awesome because I had no idea some piercings just needed to be resized.

Quick, efficient and super informative for an ear piercing. I was in and out in ~15-20 minutes. The piercing was gentle and she was very confident so it was smooth. I was nervous to get it done and she was very open about the process would go. The pain was minimal and everyone at the counter was very nice and patient even on a busy day. Get an appointment for piercings and always tip! I know it’s different from getting a meal but they legitimately have needles next to your skin, thank them for their practice.

Got my first helix piercing done yesterday at Studs and my experience was great. I arrived early to my appointment and was seen early, which was a plus and was walked through the entire process by my piercer Jasmine. Overall 10/10, will be coming back.

Great experience at STUDS! Everyone was helpful and friendly. Check in was quick and thorough. My piercer, Berline, was super knowledgeable, personable and meticulous. She talked me through the process as she was doing the piercing. She told me what to expect during the healing and explained to email should anything look amiss. Checking out was also easy. I would definitely use STUDS again.

I had a great first experience at the studs location on Newbury st in Boston, the staff member who helped me was very informative about the material do the jewelry, how to care for it and answered my other questions. She also helped me to pick pieces that were specific to my piercings to create a look. I often struggle to find unique but quality pieces of jewelry as I am a strict silver only wearer, and I think gold is reallyPopular these days. It was refreshing to see this pieces in silver, especially sold in singles. I loved the stickers, scratch off card, and punch card in my bag as well. Overall great experience and I will be heading back this weekend actually to put together a set for my full list of piercings!

Always almost fully booked for the next 2 weeks, even just for downing sizing and post checkup. I finally got my appointment which I booked 3 weeks in advance. I was late for only 2 minutes past the grace period due to the delay of the subway on rainy day and the front desk just made me rebook for other day. The store was not busy and staffs were just chatting outside of operation rooms, but they still refused to take me. The processing time for down sizing would only take max 10 minutes I believe and they booked a 20 minute window for each service, so I could have to be done before my window ends. Last time when I had my piercing appointment, they made me wait for almost 20 minutes without explaining anything. Completely do not understand this place and their rude attitude.

The service was excellent. I arrived on time for my appointment and didn’t have to wait at all. I was directly ushered towards the service area where everything was very well handled and well explained. The specialist was very calm, comforting and knowledgeable. The piercing itself wasn’t painful much and the wound is healing nicely. Can’t wait to go back to change my stud for a hoop once my piercing is completely healed!

First time getting my ears pierced here on Monday. I came in with my friend and we both had appointments. Ladies at the front desk were not very friendly when we first walked in. We then had to wait upstairs for someone to come help us for 10 minutes. My piercing came out great, but my friend’s was uneven and she doesn’t live here so what can she do? I also find it outrageous that you expect us to tip your piercers $20 for good service after paying $50 for a service fee PLUS the cost of jewelers. I wouldn’t go back for another piercing. Too expensive for the quality of service you receive.

This was such a great experience! I got my second holes re-pierced after nearly 10 years. Berline was awesome and the studio was cool, clean and totally comfortable. It was like a perfect grown up version of Claires I will be back!

Studio was clean, but staff was incredibly rude and rushed my appointment.I wore my favorite earrings so the piercer could mark my new piercing in relation to it. She demanded I take them out and wouldn’t move forward until I did. As a result, the new piercings are in the completely wrong place. I hate them and now I’m stuck with them!Additionally, after paying $100 each for simple piercing studs (so overpriced!), I bought an additional earring to take advantage of the “Buy 3 Get $15 Off” promotion they were advertising in store. I asked for my receipt and she said they emailed it to me. After leaving the store, I checked and saw they didn’t give me the discount. So sneaky!

Jess is amazing ! she was sooo kind to me and explained the piercing and healing processes very thoroughly ! the studio itself has a very welcoming atmosphere, all the staff are super sweet and down to earth and the whole establishment just radiates good vibes. they give out these adorable care instructions with stickers and a stamp card after which is awesome. i didn’t catch my piercer’s venmo for a tip so if anyone could direct me to it that would be awesome :((

Drove all the way to the Boston location from CT because I was excited to see the space. In terms of the quality of their pieces, great. I am someone to don’t usually take out my studs or earring jewelry unless I am wearing big hoops, and two weeks later they still look exactly as I bought them. Great styles too of course. In store, their selection was a bit more limited which was kind of disappointing. Yes I could’ve just ordered online, but I wanted the experience. Space wise, it’s very right when browsing. Wish there was more space to feel comfortable and welcomed. Staff was very nice, although some of their store policies are kinda weird. Like if you purchase an earring, you can’t put it on in store. Overall, would recommend!

Lese picked my piercing location. She was extremely experienced and professional with such a calming presence . I got a conch piercing and I absolutely love it ! Ill be back next week .

The front desk girl (Asian with curly hair) was the rudest person I’ve ever met in customer service. I almost walked out because of how unprofessional she was as she rolled her eyes multiple times when I was asking about the appointment process.Luckily, my piercer Berline was AMAZING and saved the experience. I highly recommend her & she deserves a raise. I would give 5 stars to her and 0 to the front desk. Thank you Berline!!!

At first I was late to my appointment because of public transit, but they were able to squeeze me in later in the day. My piercer was so sweet and funny, had a great conversation with her and my piercing was painless. She was as quick as a light, while also very skillful. No fumbling here folks. After, she proceeded to inform me on after care, and answered a couple of questions with very kind informative responses. Will totally be going back

Overall had a great first experience. Went in for a double mid-helix and there was a cute selection of jewelry to choose from, not too too many but a good amount where I wasn’t stuck choosing which ones I wanted. I was pierced by Nahjah and she did a fantastic job, she made sure I liked the marker placing before piercing, very quick with the piercing, made sure I wasn’t too light headed before I left, and really knew what she was talking about when discussing aftercare and such. everything was smooth and fantastic! only down side was I was unable to split payment with a gift card since the gift card had no chip. but that’s new technology i guess, so be aware if you’re planning to pay with a gift card!!

I’m so happy I chose Studs for my recent piercing! Not only is the shop very cute and clean but all the employees there were so kind. My piercer did a great job explaining everything and making sure the whole experience was easy and relaxed! I’m going back for another piercing soon.

Just got pierced with my conch and a flat last week. First impressions, place is cute and staff inviting and friendly as well as helpful and informative. The jewelry is really cute so there is plenty to chose from. My piercings were don’t by Jazz and she was awesome!! She’s helpful with choosing what piercings to do next and literally talks you through the process so you always know what’s happening. I’ve had several piercings but never done so well. I had an amazing experience here and would love to have Jazz do future piercings as well!!!

I made my reservation 3 days ahead. They were great reminding me about my appointment. I live far, it takes me almost 2 hours to go the back bay store. When I arrived, the staff told me they have to cancel my appointment due to unexpected reason, and they will send me an email with a discount code for reschedule the appointment.First, I was disappoint that they could inform me the cancellation as soon as they find out that they cannot take on appointment and suggest the next reschedule vacancy. Instead, I received my cancellation notification after I walked out the store.They are good at reminding the client about their appointment time why not cancellation. They will charge you if you dont show up for your appointment. The customers time is also valuable. Especially I waste 4 hour on the road and $30 for parking!Second, I didnt receive any compensation discount email as the staff told me so. It has been 2 weeks now!With this experience, I dont think I would ever come back for their service. Also give other people a warning.

Went to the studs pop-up tonight and had 2 piercings done. First time since Claire’s pierced my ears in 1st grade. The store was super clean, the piercer, Hale, was amazing, and the piercings look great. I felt a little lightheaded after and the team there was SO nice, giving me water and making sure I was ok. Will absolutely visit again!

Jaz was amazing! I went to Studs for two piercings, a conch and a forward helix. Jaz talked me through the entire process, they were so soothing it was honestly a relaxing experience! They were very informative and clear about the healing process and tips and tricks to ensure great healing. Both piercings look incredible and so far have been healing beautifully! I would absolutely come back for more piercings even though this is about a 3 hour drive from my house!

The cutest place ever & they have jewelry that is to die for ! i was finally able to stop by during my break & instantly fell in love. the whole store is a vibe - all the way to the aesthetic, the music & their employees. i love that their jewelry is super versatile, weather if you love a simple stud/hoop, or if you like to express yourself, they have the cutest chic studs that can really step your piercings up a level. because of all these amazing options i was there for almost 30 min- but with the help of Chloe, it felt like a breeze. she was super helpful & definitely took her time to help me find jewelry that was best fit for me & even gave her opinions on things (which i love because i can be very impulsive with a mix of indecisive lol). the price is so worth it & i will 100% be returning when i get the chance !

Studs need to be much better about taking into account that this shop is within a city, where there are often traveling and transportation issues that can cause delays in arrival. I missed my 5 minute grace period by TWO MINUTES (it was 5:47) and the very rude woman working the desk was extremely condescending to me when I arrived. She did not care about providing any alternative times even though I hardly missed my window (TWO MINUTES LATE). If it were a busy day or busy hour I would have understood, but it was Sunday evening and there was NOBODY in the shop, nor was anyone in the piercing rooms. Just me, her and her coworker and the piercers. She clearly enjoyed denying me service for being late for no reason. Ridiculous requirements and horrible staff. Ive been to this Studs before for moral support for my roommate who got her cartilidge pierced, and felt very uncomfortable by the staffs rudeness that time as well. Overall horrible experiences here.

I came to get my conch, anti-tragus, and room piercings changed. The piercer who i saw was so sweet and very informative about everything she was doing. I love all the earrings she recommended for each piercing. Such a great experience! Can’t wait to go back.

I’d give this place 2.5 stars. I walked in to buy a piercing. It wasn’t the worst experience in the world I guess but it was far from the best. The employee wasn’t rude at all but they certainly weren’t nice or friendly at all. If I’m spending $ on the tiniest piece of jewelry that’s honestly probably overpriced, I kind of expect to work with someone who is going to be at least a little bit friendly. Idk maybe that’s just me. Personally, I would not go back there & would prefer to give my business somewhere else. Only reason I bought something was because my current earring fell off and I was desperate. Can’t say much about the quality of their jewelry yet since I just bought it recently.

Studs is my go-to piercing spot in Boston. A fair price for piercing and great quality flatback studs that I continue to wear daily. I was recently pierced by Berline and she was super patient in answering my questions and talking both me and my friend through the piercing process.

I had coupons & everything ):The front desk staff was SO RUDE & Unhelpful as heck . They canceled my appointment, which didnt charge me for the appointment, (good for you) but WHAT THE HECK !!!! No warmth, no smiles and not even a good morning greeting.You are placed on BUSY STREET ! Like you can be a bit more empathetic to our situation !!!!!Came all this way for my Birthday & got turned awayI am SO SO mad. All I wanted was to change out my piercings for THEIR jewelry, it was not that serious I felt so disposable! Like another number to them, thats it.

Went in for a walk in for 2 second lobe piercings - very quick, all the staff was super helpful and welcoming. Hal pierced my ears and they were so kind and made me really comfortable. Feels very professional, clean, and an inclusive space.

The staff was great. I just wish my piercing would’ve stayed in my ear for more than 24 hours. The ball to my rook piercing fell off less than 24 hours after getting it pierced. I live out of town so there isn’t much I can do to salvage the piercing.

I’m really disappointed with my experience here. I went to get my first cartilage piercing but I felt very rushed through the process. My cartilage piercing is now in a weird angle that cannot be seen from my side profile. The piercer dismissed this by saying with a hoop it would be fine, but I did not get a good overview of what it would look like. I even showed inspiration pictures for what I wanted. I don’t know what to do to fix it now.

I went to get my ear pierced for my 21st birthday. I originally wanted to get two piercings: one helix piercing and I wanted advice on the second one. I assumed that they would have knowledge on the types of piercings that look good with different ear anatomy. They didn’t give me any advice or recommendations I ended up only getting the helix piercing since they insisted that I should only get 1. After is agreed they didn’t even place it where I wanted it with the excuse that they did it there so I can put a hoop there in the future. I don’t want a hoop and now I have a piercing that is covered by my same ear. I felt very rushed and they kept reminding me how Im running out of appointment time when really I had 30 minutes left. The piercing itself if well done and I haven’t had any issues but they didn’t listen to me or help me at all. Also the store didn’t have cell service so I couldn’t even show then examples of what I wanted.

The environment inside is very cute and calm, the ladies helping me didn’t mind answering all the questions I had regarding services, styles and appointments questions. All their pieces do range in prices but overall I was very pleased with my purchase. They do recommend making an appointment if you want anything done such as piercing or even change of jewelry but also walk ins are welcomed, but I also suggest making an appointment because when looking online they’re pretty much filled. I will be buying future jewelry from the store and can’t wait to style my ears with some of their new sets 🥰

Had a very bad experience with this pop-up- booked with a friend and our appointment got rescheduled two separate times. We finally made it in (4 months after our original booking) and the sales associate would only honor the rebooking discount for one of us. The guy who pierced us was great and the stars are for him! Would absolutely not recommend for piercing.

The staff were nice enough and the facility was clean. Thats the extent of the positives for STUDS. I came in for a room piercing on Friday, and by Saturday my jewelry had lost a piece and was free floating in my ear. They would not see me for a jewelry change, so I went elsewhere to have them reassemble my jewelry. I was told that the piercing was botched, and that it would most likely never heal properly. This over priced “grownup Claire’s” is a total gimmick and the only negative experience I’ve ever had with any piercing.

Worst Piercing Service ever, i got my ear pierced 1st time from here. After 2 weeks my ear was swollen like a balloon. I tried to call them but they dont have anyone who can help you, so i dropped a email to the email address they gave and still havent recieved any response. I really hope i never went here and could get a refund on the terrible service they gave. Would Highly NOT recommend.

Unfortunately, I had the same experience as another reviewer. I got both lobes pierced on 6/11 and was so excited that this place had cute jewelry. When I got home I realized one piercing wasnt sitting right on my ear, but chalked it up to swelling. The next day I had a friend look and she noticed it had been pierced down at a pretty steep angle. Multiple people confirmed that this had not been pierced right.I reached out to Studs customer service and was told to take the piercing out and now have to wait 3 to 4 months to get re-pierced. About two weeks later I still have pretty dark bruising.I was able to get a refund through Studs customer service, and that team was very responsive.I understand that mistakes happen, but it seems like these piercers are either not experienced or not taking the time to check their work before stabbing a needle through your ear.

Hal pierced my ears (third holes in my lobes), and he was fantastic. He was very reassuring, chatted to distract me, and provided a great experience. He measured the holes to make sure they were even and nicely placed. I cant wait to go back for a stack piercing!

I have gotten my upper lobes and one flat helix pierced done by Jasmine and I love how they have come out. I definitely recommend coming here for your next ear piercing.

The staff during my visit was very rude which was unfortunate because I had gone to studs before and has a great experience. There was one staff member in particular who was very rude, the other staff member present was great and I’m glad she had great customer service. In particular the first girl who was present I had asked her for a mask and she was very rude stating “are you gonna buy something if not, no” I had just asked if I could have a mask so I can switch my other one out. Also I thought it was very rude of her to ask if I was gonna buy something. She made me feel stupid. I had also asked her if two sets of earrings where different or the same model. She said they were different without even looking at the earrings I was pointing at. They were indeed the same pair but didn’t bother to actually notice or care. The whole time I was there she acted like she did not want to be there and was very rude to a lot of customers not just me. I suggest she change her attitude or find a different job more suitable for her bad attitude. This is so unfortunate that one person ruined my whole experience! I don’t know the specific employees name but it was one of the staff members working around 5:30pm on Wednesday October 13th, 2021 and to specify not the girl that came in and started helping but the staff member that was already there who was rude. The one that came in was very nice and helpful and I’m grateful for her.

Piercing is good and painless, however my piercer Enahjan Brown was very unfriendly. I am severely phobic of needles, and she was being inconsiderate and made me feel bad about crying and panicking.

I just got two second lobe piercings done today in Seaport, only to go home and realize they were uneven. This is pretty ridiculous considering my piercer measured the distance. Prices are very expensive for such a rookie mistake, and the seemingly gold earrings I picked out ended up looking more silver on. I paid so much money for this and now am considering taking out one of my second lobes so I can get it re-pierced properly somewhere else. Overall bad experience, go somewhere with experienced piercers who wont mess up your piercing placements.

Wonderful staff and very efficient. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. My piercer was very attentive to my needs. They also have a great selection of studs at different pirces for new and existing piercings.

Felt rushed at appointment - only have 20 minutes to decide what jewelry you get. Normal to not let plus ones in piercing studio but if you bring someone with you they can’t even go to the piercing area.

Hal was wonderful! So patient and understanding that I was nervous after a past bad piercing experience. 100% would recommend him and Studs!

I came in on 6/26 for two second lobe piercings and unfortunately did not have the best experience. My piercer marked my right ear and I felt it was too close to my first piercing, so she removed the mark and re-marked it. They then looked too far away from each other. I explained where I felt like the second piercing should be, having seen my sister recently get her second lobe piercing at Mejuri (and we have similar ears). My piercer re-marked my ear several times in different spots. Only after re-marking my ear several times did she actually measure my ear. In the end, I had two marks on my right ear, and she said she would pierce between the two. In retrospect, I really wish I had either walked away un-pierced, or asked her to remove the two marks and re-mark the final position. The result is that my two second piercings are not totally symmetrical when youre looking at me straight on. The right on is slightly more horizontal, and the left is more diagonal. Additionally, it really, really hurt getting them pierced. I got my first lobe piercings done at Mejuri in December and I barely felt a thing. Im not sure why the second piercings at Studs hurt so much since they were also through the lobe. Overall, my experience at Mejuri was much better and I wish I had gone there instead. My piercer at Mejuri was much more experienced and much more confident in the placement of my piercings, and I left knowing that they were exactly where they should be. Mejuri was also significantly less expensive ($80 at Mejuri vs $230+tip at Studs for asymmetrical piercings). My piercer at Studs was very kind and accommodating, but I just dont think she was the most experienced. I came to Studs because I saw so many 5-star reviews, but unfortunately I cannot recommend getting pierced here and I regret my decision.

The manager was mean! I am international and the staff did not want to accept my ID because of lack of knowledge! Which I find very rude and unprofessional. The manager was particularly sarcastic when talking to us and did want to understand any explanation!

They messed up my tragus not once but twice!! Definitely recommend if you love people with little to no experience and bad quality jewelry.

Don’t get your ears pierced at Studs. Studs robbed me blind. They pierced my ears with $300 earrings without my knowledge. They had their earrings labeled at $75 and neglected to tell me how much the earrings were before piercing me with them. At the end of the visit I had to pay $700 ( money I don’t have) for something I didn’t want.

SO frustrated with the service. They cancelled my appointment without telling me, and then proceeded to cancel my rescheduled appointment 10 minutes after I made it. They dont have a phone number either and are a pain to get in touch with.

Checked in early for my appointment and was able to get pierced 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Super quick and easy, very streamlined process!

The store is really cute and I think the earrings are pretty high quality for such a low price. I will definitely purchase from them again.

Worst service! I was 5 minutes late and they didn’t let me in! I drove for around 30 minutes to get there! My piercing change would’ve taken no more than 5 minutes each and they said they couldn’t do it! They didn’t even let me know of this policy beforehand!
