Age of Reason Tattoo

Have an appointment for Tim(the owner) to do a portrait tattoo and can’t wait. But while waiting on that appointment I received a phone call from Pepper (Tims wife) that a guest artist from out of town was available to do some tattooing. I immediately jumped on the opportunity and am SO HAPPY I DID! His name is Kennie Davis and he will be back at the end of October to do some more work on my arm! By then I will have had my session with Tim to do my portrait. I can’t wait to see all these pieces finished and just how much this shop has contributed to my new journey of self discovery and all the new ways that I’m learning to show how to express my gratitude and Love for life!Thanks again Kennie for your hard work and I can’t wait to see what Big Tim has in store for me on Oct 6th!

Jessica has done every single piece on my body and does PHENOMENAL work. Ive recommended her to everyone I know. Shes so creative and never disappoints :-)

The entire crew at Age of Reason are phenomenal. Tim is such a good person! Cactus is such a sweetheart and I love the work shes done on me! Pepper has done quite a few of my piercings. Professional, clean, and personable. I recommend age of reason to everyone.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had getting a tattoo.

I’m sure they do great work but I wouldn’t know due to the woman working the front desk. In front of other customers, she spoke down to me like I was a child. She was so condescending I walked out the door. And when I called back to tell her I didn’t appreciate the way she spoke to me, she didn’t apologize for how she acted. There are so many other tattoo places in BG. So if you don’t know 100% of everything there is to know about tattoos, don’t go there.

Pepper is one of the rudest people I’ve ever met. Makes you feel very unwelcome. Had great experiences with two artists who’ve worked there but the owners are awful. They don’t treat their customers like they want to be there and they don’t treat their employees any better. 0/10 do not recommend.

Went in for a lip piercing, agreed on the placement, but she pierced it from the inside out so she completely missed the mark she made for my piercing. The marker was clearly visible on my lip below the actual piercing. Was told I could change it out after 1 week (supposed to be 2 weeks). I just had a vertical labret done somewhere else and was told it was supposed to be more painful than my side labret should have been. Of all my piercings, the one at this shop was the worst. I was told different care instructions than the paper she gave me. She said dont use q-tips, the paper said to use them. She said I could change it after a week, the paper said 2 weeks. I know not everyone had a bad experience, but I did. It was way more painful than it should have been if it was done from the outside in, like other piercers do. Also wasnt a big fan of how much enjoyment she got out of causing me pain. So I was not going to let her redo my piercing when I saw it wasnt right.

This was my first time visiting Age of Reason. Tim Phelps transformed an embarrassment into this beautiful work of art. It was truly impressive to watch his creative process, unlike any other artist Ive worked with. He took his time, heard what I wanted, and delivered beyond my expectations!!!

I went here to get my nose pierced. I was super nervous and scared, this was my first piercing since I was little. The staff were super nice. They are sarcastic but not in a rude or mean way. They do it just to make you feel more comfortable with them just because this can be a scary experience. The staff was super nice and made sure I knew how to care for my self after the piercing. Pepper did my piercing and she went into great detail and was super funny and cool to be around. She even priced tattoos for my friends that came along. She went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and ensure that knew how to care for a piercing. Highly recommend this place.

When I went to get my tattoo, Tim was super nice and funny. He kept talking to me and was really nice. Pepper also pierced my nose and was super funny. She did it so fast I didnt even feel it. Love these people and cant wait to go back! I would rate them more than five stars if I could!

Sara is my go to for tattoos. She’s highly professional and enthusiastic when it comes to what she does. Pepper is also who did my septum piercing. She provided excellent care directions and taught me how to hide it if need. Highly recommend Age of Reason to everyone for their tattoo and piercing needs.

Me and my friend got nipple piercings with pepper and Id have to say it was an all around good experience!! She was very humorous, friendly, and laid back!!.. she definitely helped ease the stress of anxiety about getting nipples pierced...I would definitely recommend her as of now anyways..just got it done so hopefully all heals well...l0l...great customer service and excellent personality great experience!!

Sonora was wonderful to work with! She created a lovely dogwood blossom stem for my daughter and I for my daughter’s birthday. I really loved her vibe and taste in music, and her work was impeccable. We love our tattoos!

Extremely Professional. Exceptionally Clean. I have come to Age of Reason for both tattoos (Tim Phelps) and piercings (Pepper).Both are experienced individuals in their fields. The lobby and front desk is clean and organized, and very professional, while also having a cool ambiance- LOVE the plants everywhere! :)This is the shop I recommend to everyone needing piercings or tattoos!I definitely plan on returning.

Tim and Pepper are, by far imo, the best in B.G. at what they do. Piercings and tattoos. Ive been getting tattoos for 20+ years and I wont let anyine else work on me but them. Period. No exceptions. There are many gifted and trustworthy tattoo artists in Bowling Green,but Tim and Pepper are good people on along with their professionslism.

The piercer Pepper was extremely rude! Cursing at me, telling me not to touch my nose when I was dripping blood all over myself. I tried to tell her I was bleeding and needed a paper towel and she insisted I wasn’t even when I showed her it was gushing. Tried to tell me where the piercing needed to be according to her, not where I wanted it. Acted frustrated and annoyed with me. Worst place I’ve been too, won’t be returning!

My wife has gone to Tim and Pepper for years now. Actually our first date she got a tattoo from Tim. He is very nice and is, in my opinion, the best tattoo artist in Bowling Green. I highly recommend everyone to go to Age of Reason to get their tattoos or piercings.

Tim Phelps the owner is great but his wife is the real hero. She is amazing! The other artists are very kind and professional. Highly recommend if you want a good tattoo from good people.

Very disappointed! Took my stepdaughter to get her septum pierced and the lady had to pierce her twice. They only allow one person in so I was unaware of this until she came out of the shop. It was bleeding so much I couldnt tell how crooked it turned out until we got home a few hours later. I do not recommend getting pierced here. Not professional and costly for terrible work.

Bad vibes all around at this place. Owners are shady, rude, and are also terrible to their artists in regards to pay. Support someone else, plenty of other artists in town who deserve your business

Excellent work. My girls and I had tattoos of my mothers handwriting all done the same day and they were perfect!

I cannot attest to their tattoos, but Pepper is a beautiful doll who is employed here, ready to happily and perfectly pierce you. Ive had 3 piercings from her, took my boyfriend to her and recommended her to my closest friends

Age of Reason is one of the top places in Bowling Green to get a tattoo or piercing. Tim and staff do fantastic work . I heard about Tim Phelps through other people and Im glad I chose him to start on my sleeve.

Jessica is amazing. Works with clients and is super quick! Charges by the hour- only the time the gun is actually running. Would recommend to anyone looking for line work, dot work or something w little out of the ordinary.

Pepper stabbed me really good. She asked me about placement and what type of jewelry I’d tend to wear and curated my hole based on my glasses and jewelry style preference. 5/5

Got a piece done by Sonora. Shes an apprentice now but I swear shell one day be in charge of her own shop. Great price with great results 👍

My sister went into there for a septum and the lady ended up stabbing her twice anf it ended up crooked. She blamed it on her new clamps. For the amount charged I feel it should have been perfect.

I went here for my first tattoo yesterday. It was an overall a good experience. The service was good and the artist was very personable. He even stayed after the shop closed to finish my tattoo. Fair priced too.

Clean, warm, relaxing atmosphere, and phenomenal artists. Plan ahead, as theyre frequently booked for weeks or months, but its always worth the wait. I wouldnt think of going anywhere else.

Ive had 2 tattoos done at this place by devon and tim, both experiences were awesome they both did phenomenal work and im absolutely in love with both peices of art; great atmosphere wouldnt go anywhere else!

Horrible go to get a tattoo and this place wont do it the way you want they want it done there way.all I wanted was my husbands name and Im told I cant just use color it has to be black.so if you dont want it to be there way they will refuse to do your tattoo.thats ok there loss found a better place.my first tattoo was in color and it still looks great.if your in a business serving people it should be want the customer wants not the artist
