Josh Arseneau has been my artist for years - he’s done my full sleeve and my thigh piece and I cannot recommend him & Electric Anvil enough! He’s fast, efficient, and his work is STELLAR. I constantly get comments on my art everywhere I go & I always recommend Josh and Electric Anvil. Dope group of artist and a welcoming, non judgmental, & clean space. Highly recommend.
Love this shop! All the artists are cool down to earth people. Dustin is the man!! He always takes care of me when I go overall this shop is one of the higher quality ones in the city. Definitely have to check them out if you love traditional work.
Walked in right at opening for a tattoo and was in and out in an hour. Dustin is a great artist and clearly cares about making sure you’re happy and comfortable with the process and the outcome all the way through healing. Super nice and chill crew, clean and beautiful shop, will definitely come back for more work when I’m back in the city
I recently got a small octopus tattoo on my wrist. It was way out of my comfort zone! I am a 72 year old woman and have never done anything like this before. I wanted to honor my late husband with this because he always wanted one and never got it. I walked into Electric Anvil while visiting my family and got it done. Gus was the best! He talked to me the whole time and I got just what I wanted. I cant thank him enough for this experience.
I had my naval pierced at a different location in Bushwick and it was a bad experience. I kept the piercing for almost a year hoping it would heal and it never did so I let it close. Decided it was time to get it re-pierced so I came to this location and met Elizabeth. She was super welcoming, informative and friendly. Elizabeth took her time understanding my naval and didn’t rush the process which I loved. She pierced my navel in a different placement and it’s perfect! It healed so quickly and doesn’t bother me at all. Definitely a different experience from my first navel piercing, thank you Elizabeth!
Josh has tattooed me twice and I can confidently say he’s a MASTER at his craft! Could not recommend him or Electric Anvil more! Wish I could give a higher rating because 5 stars isn’t enough!!!
Absolutely impossible to get in for a piercing appointment. This is my second time coming. Each time I was told to come back in 30 minutes, I came back in 30 minutes, and then they had taken someone else. I get if you get busy but then let me make an appointment so that I’m not wasting my time. I’ll go to Studs.
I asked for a nose piercing and the piercer said he was too tired to do it?? He still proceeded to show me what I should have payed which is 120$. Yes I know it’s titanium but it’s still far too expensive compared to some better and cheaper places in NYC that are also using titanium.
Walked in for a septum piercing today and had a lovely experience. I have a deviated septum and the piercer explained the risk of having a crooked ring, or having to try to pierce it multiple times to get it straight. They were very thorough and didn’t pressure me either way, I said LFG and LFG we did!Indeed we had to try it twice. Both times the piercer was super communicative and gentle, explained every step along the way. They were also very funny, great bedside manner. Both takes were a piece of cake, hardly any pain. More like a pinch. Price was reasonable - $110 for the piercing + jewelry. The other shop artists were friendly too. I will definitely be back!
Called to ask about jewelry and was told different prices on the phone by the guy on the phone. Got transferred to the piercer who is definitely looking to squeeze money out of you. Just go straight to unimax or order online where you wont get ripped off. Price doesnt matter- principal does
My girl and I were in Brooklyn for the weekend and were itchin for some ink, Electric Anvil caught our eye and we went in for a walk in. We were immediately welcomed in and allowed to take our time choosing from the flash. We both chose something from Sonnys epic & beautiful flash. My piece was done by Dustin who masterfully pulled it off. Josf did some beautiful work for my partner. Both artists were extremely accommodating and respectful. The whole shop had a very refreshing vibe and we are sure to go back whenever we find ourselves on Brooklyn.Wed both love to get ink from Sonny as we are obsessed w his flash, and Dustin has my trust anytime!
Beware of High Prices and Poor Transparency! My partner and I received an estimate the day prior, then went in the next day for a simple tattoo (no detailing, no shading, no original art) at about 3 inches in size. I was charged $350 (not including tip). The same thing happened to my husband that day. We felt misled because it was far higher than our estimate, and we felt taken advantage of because they saw we were getting matching tattoos. The total for two simple tattoos was $700 + tip. For context, weve lived in Brooklyn for 11 years and both have multiple tattoos, so the treatment here really stood out.
Had the best experience at Electric Anvil. Josh was a true professional and Im excited for the next one!
Had an absolutely wonderful experience getting my ear pierced with my sister yesterday at Electric Anvil. upon entering, youre greeted with the sounds of buzzing tattoo guns, beautiful hardwood floors and black leather tattoo chairs with works by the tattoo artists all over the walls. Electric Anvil had an extensive selection of different types jewelry and the pieces themselves werent insanely overpriced like some other shops in the area.our piercer named Jose had a calm, professional demeanor, yet was very easy to speak to and gladly answered all our questions even going so far as to give advise on and check our other piercings we hadnt even had done there and gave us detailed aftercare directions (we had a few random questions about jewelry size, checked if some of our piercings were still open, etc). each piercing Jose did was quick and painless, which was largely in part due to his competence and experience. he was extremely cautious when prepping and piercing us, repeatedly changing his gloves throughout and re-sanitizing everything he used, touched or even looked at. while i felt bad he had to go through so many pairs of gloves, it was very reassuring to see he took our safety and the sanitation process seriously--especially for a first time visit.we both had a 3rd hole pierced on one ear and all together it came out to be about $70 each ($40 for the piercing and $30 for the jewelry). there wasnt a single thing i didnt like about the experience we had at Electric Anvil and i would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a piercing! 11/10
Mahalia is the best! She fixed a bad job that had been done on my upper cartilage elsewhere, it had been 9 months and was still bleeding/scabbing regularly. Once she fixed it to the right size and stud, magically that all stopped and its been healing properly! Ive now done 6 piercings, stretched the 2 plugs once (more to go) and Im not done yet..I never even really cared about piercings before. Great bedside manner, incredibly knowledgeable and just a joy to go to!The shop itself is also fantastic, clean, and such a good vibe. Ive already spoken to one artist about a custom piece I want and Im considering doing the random gumball machine piece just for funsies cause I just enjoy the energy here so much!
Ive had 4 medium sized tattoos there -- Ive always been thrilled with the work. The shop is chill, the artists immaculate professionals, and the music is top notch. Every artist Ive worked with was thoughtful, warm, and skilled. Dont miss this spot.
Lived in the neighborhood for 4 years and always walked past this place but hadn’t gone before. Walked in on Sunday to get a tattoo and met with Thomas. Cordial and professional, he blew me away with how my tattoo turned out, and I’m so happy with it! Everyone in the shop is super nice. Clean environment, energetic atmosphere, I will 100% be coming back here for more tattoos! Thanks again Thomas!
Went in with a friend and ended up doing their “get what you get” tattoo for $200. I love that they had two price points for it. All the staff were extremely friendly and I got tattooed by Tron who did extremely well. They listened to my color requests and did exactly what I wanted. Would definitely come back in the future for more tattoos from here.
I am writing a review for the piercings I got from Electric Anvil. I got my flat piercing and second and third lobes done by Jose, and I am so happy with the results. While the price is quite expensive here (mostly because of the fine jewelry ~$200-$800, piercings ~$30-$50, posts ~$17-18, plus tax and tip), I think to an extent the piercings themselves are worth it. Jose was patient, professional, and so precise. I really appreciate his expertise and his steady hands. He took the time to measure out exactly where the piercings should go, told me what I can/cannot get done due to my anatomy (I appreciate the honesty over just a cash-grab), and was totally cool if I wanted to adjust his measurements. While naturally the piercings hurt, I don’t think I could’ve had a smoother experience. I also want to thank DEAN for fixing my flat when weeks later, due to some unknown reason (probably slept on it 🥲) my flat piercing started to swell and ooze. Dean changed the post out for a longer one and didn’t even charge a service fee! I think it is fair since I got my post changed too soon but I still appreciate the gesture and generosity there. Dean was so kind and professional too, and totally cleaned up my ear, AND left me with sterilized gauze. I am so appreciative of both Jose and Dean and hope to come back for more!
This place has reasonable prices, very productive and helpful service. I had previously got my helix piercing done previously at Kings Plaza at Vip piercings June 2022 and after a couple of months my piercing on my right ear was embedded into my skin. Recently my left ear was starting to become sore and close into my skin just like my right ear. I called the shop today and they help em the exact day to get the embedded one on my right ear out and help me change the left ear piercing. I thought I had to get surgery after the other place has told me. Thank you so much especially to Elle for explaining the problem and solutions that can help me. Same day service to take both helix piercings out. Thanks to Elle she is the best!!!!! I will be going back and now my go to place for piercings and tattoos.
I got a piercing here by Oren who is incredibly patient and gentle. I’m super happy with the piercing! The piercing area is clean, well lit, private, and spacious. Oren as I mentioned was so kind as I was a bit nervous but I felt in good hands! I love how my piercing turned out. They’ve got a decent selection of jewelry too! 10/10 recommend. The shop only has one piercer in at a time so it can get busy. I recommend calling ahead for an appointment. It’s super simple to do and worth it.While I did not get a tattoo, the artists were all super friendly and folks seemed super pleased with the process and results so definitely recommend checking out the shop and if you vibe with the artists.
Brought my 7 year old niece (with her parents) to get her earlobes pierced. Had an INCREDIBLE experience with Dean who was so communicative and patient with her. They spoke directly to my niece instead of just the parents to make sure she felt comfortable and happy. Incredibly professional, sanitary, and a great experience for a first piercing. Thank you Dean for the amazing job.
Giving 2 stars to average out my two visits. My first visit was a 4. Got a simple name tattoo on the rib. I was a walk in and the artist was accommodating even though creating the stencil took about 45 minutes, The final product was what I wanted.So. I decided to go back. My husband made an appointment on my behalf since I lost my phone. We arrived 7 minutes late to the appointment. The artist was notified when we arrived. It took 22 minutes for the artist to even address us. So at that point, we were 29 minutes into the appointment. When the artist did finally address us, I asked what time the appointment was due to start (I mean I must be missing something…). I was very directly told that I was late… So my 7 minutes late apparently justified not being addressed for another 22 minutes. But it’s okay, guys! While my husband and I waited for 22 minutes, I was privy to some amazing (and very loud and slightly inappropriate ) stories of coworkers who are expecting kids, who are upset because they have kids and one coworker was in a bad mood and abruptly threw a customers gift away. It was…inviting. I had to stand outside after 12 minutes.Anyway, after being told I was late, we decided to still move forward. UNTIL one of the owners abruptly advised us that my husband couldn’t stay because it was too crowded. Yes sir, it was crowded by your crude conversation. Pipe down next time. We made an appointment but I overheard a worker saying that “they don’t realize [my artist] was going to be in today.” Cool way to run a business! So we asked for a refund of the deposit. At first we were told we didn’t leave one. We did. My husband then had to go back to ensure he’d get a refund but the artist “went for a walk” and they typically don’t provide refunds. After a week, my husband received a refund minuses the taxes he incurred through the online site.Listen, I’m sure there are some amazingly talented artists here. But when you’re messy and treat customers like trash, potential customers should know. You’re welcome in advance.Update: if you’re curious which tattoo artist, just see all the “positive” reviews that magically appeared over the last week to amp this person up all of a sudden. 😝 Convenient. Updating to one star.
I needed some help removing a few pieces of stubborn ear jewelry before a doctor’s appointment with very short notice, and Dean was there to help! They definitely came to the rescue and were gentle; I appreciated the quick help that I received. Everyone in the shop was friendly, the space was clean and organized, and I was able to pop in & out quickly :)
Saw Sonny recently (again!) to get a custom design, he carefully and patiently helped me sketch out exactly what i wanted. he always provides ample time to help perfect placement and color, and I felt very comfortable working with him to capture my vision perfectly. He is the most talented tattoo artist ive ever been to, with a quick and gentle hand and keen eye for color. Overall an incredibly friendly and welcoming place! Will be back for any future ink needs.
Really friendly and chill environment. I’ve been getting tattooed for over a decade now and lots of shops don’t have a good vibe; this one does! I’ve been tattooed multiple times by Sonny here and always had a good experience. He’s very thoughtful, very responsive to questions or concerns and has always made getting work done worth it. I literally travel 3 hours into the city just to come here!
Showed up here in a party of 4 for walk-ins. We were treated as if we had booked appts 6 months ago. The artists were beyond friendly, accommodating & collaborative. Even when one of the ppl in my party was being difficult. Clean shop, talented artists, would absolutely go back. Cheers guys!
I’ve been here to get tattooed by Sonny a handful of times now and have even brought my little sister for some of her first tattoos as well!He is always very professional and I am forever grateful for how consent-oriented he is as opposed to other artists I’ve been to in the tri-state area. He is always checking in with how I’m doing, letting me know we can take breaks if needed, and is just all around amazing to work with.He thankfully doesn’t have a heavy hand, and I’m always amazed how fast he works for art that is constantly better than I could have ever anticipated.I can not recommend him enough, tbh.
Great experience for my first tattoo. I had a consultation on a Sunday and had my appointment Saturday at the end of the week. I came in knowing I wanted my tattoo done by Josh Egnew. I gave him my idea and came up with a great design. Very friendly and the process of getting a tattoo was great. The process couldn’t have been better. I will definitely be back for my next tattoo and maybe even have a spin at the Get What You Get Machine.
Excellent vibes and atmosphere. Jeremy has done an incredible cover up job of my tattoo.
Sonny is an incredibly creative artist, they designed a sick piece for me with little references and its my new favorite tattoo. In addition theyre insanely sweet, attentive and easy to talk to, will definitely go back!
My daughter and I wanted a local spot. All our tattoos thus far we would go to the city to have done. Electric Anvil is right in our Crown Heights neighborhood, a 20min walk, awesome! We went on Saturday 9/21, had a bit of a wait but finally met with Steve. He hooked up our mother/daughter tatts and did an addtl on my wrist. LOVE THEM!CLEAN, CLEAR beautiful lines! I will be back for the start of my sleeve!!
What a great place! Went in for a spontaneous walk-in for a small tattoo while on vacation in Brooklyn and left very satisfied and happy. The staff was very kind and careful to make sure I got what I wanted. Got tattooed by ghostglare, he checked up on how I was doing and made sure I was comfortable throughout the short session and the tattoo ended up looking sick! The atmosphere at the shop was very chill and fun and the interior was really nice too. I wish I was staying in America longer so I could stop by again! :)
Sonny has done 85% of my tattoos, and I will follow him to wherever he is tattooing. Sonny has the best bedside manor and a flexibility in style that makes for some amazing and beautiful tattoo work. Always proud to recommend Sonny and Electric Anvil!
If you want adventure and are brave be like my Nephew and put a token in for what you get is your tattoo. He got a candle and they did a wonderful job! Very clean place and great staff friendly and clean.
Came by for a tattoo with Jeremy Sutton. The entire process went smoothly. I saw a design of his I liked on Instagram and swung an email over for a price quote. I got a reply back SUPER fast, which was great for people who tend to be a little anxious like myself. This isnt my first time being tattooed so I can say with confidence that the prices are reasonable and what youd typically expect at a quality shop. The shop itself is very clean, nicely lit and decorated with lots of tattoo art. They also do piercings and from what I can tell use quality gold ends. Jeremy was extremely professional, and nice! I was able to take breaks when I asked without any issues. Id definitely come back again for future work. :) Im super happy with my service!!
Writing my review based on two visits. I got a walk-in piercing and later on a jewelry change, both by Shasta who was very attentive, patient and willing to answer all my questions. professional and very friendly. location was professional and clean.
We visited from Scotland and did the Get What You Get gumball machine. Great experience, great staff and Sonny was awesome! Love my tat..
Got this done on saturday after picking the design out of Dustins line book. It was my first time at the shop and everyone was super welcoming along with Dustin doing an amazing job with piece.
My wife and I had work done with Dustin Fowler at EAT. This was my 5th tat and her 2nd with Dustin. That should say it all. Dustin is talented, personable and professional. Hes an artist who places his craft above all else, and it shows on your skin. He has always made the experience of getting inked a pleasurable one, and Ive already booked my next tat with him. Do yourself a favor, visit this shop and invest with this artist.
Dustin is an exceptionally talented artist and delivers top quality from consultation to final product. I’ve gotten two original pieces and two cover ups that you’d never guess were. I can’t recommend Dustin enough, and can guarantee you’ll be met with care and quality that you’ll be proud of.
I just got my 1st tattoo done with Sonny. I loved my experience, everyone was super sweet. I was a bit nervous about it and Sonny was very patient and let me take as many breaks as I needed.
Walked in with my girlfriend to get some simpler tattoos done, the folks at Electric Anvil were very accommodating and welcoming in their shop. Pretty typical atmosphere for what you’d expect from a nicer tattoo shop; everyone, both the artists and those getting tattooed, seemed very relaxed with laughs all around too.My work was done by Josf, @josf_awns on insta, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s still in the process of healing completely—although it looks really good. He was very professional, particularly in the way he’d give thoughtful suggestions while leaving control of the final look in my hands. He has a super unique lettering style that you need to check out!Below is a picture of the tattoo with the protective film freshly off
I got my septum today and this was my first facial piercing so I was super nervous but listen they were so welcoming and Jose made me feel very secure, was patient with my millions of questions and told me everything to expect. He was amazing at making sure I was ready, very well spoken and just overall super chill - he was also very careful on the placement which I was worried about going wrong. I could not have had a better first experience, I’m so glad I went there fr.
Visited NYC from Nashville, had so much time to spare waiting for check in. Decided to get a hand tattoo while we wait. Tron did my tattoo. She was SUPER COOL! Everyone was nice. The music was such a vibe! Tron was very patient, work was so crispy! Excited to show my tat off back home 😜
Had a great piercing experience today with Jose! I have plenty of facial piercings but was a little nervous about getting my eyebrow done. Jose was nice, friendly and made me feel at ease! It was a breeze. Cool little shop, will for sure be back! :)
Amazing piece here from Jeremy Sutton: large kraken and anchor on my calf in about 3 hours. Probably the best shop in Brooklyn. Theyre super talented, knowledgable, and helpful with placement and design questions. Ive only gotten one from Jeremy, but every artists work looked great while I was there. Will be back for another!
I just left Electric Anvil and I cannot believe how much money I paid for the smallest tattoo I have. The tattoo is a clam shell, about the size of a dollar coin, with 11 lines, plus the circle. Johnny charged me $200. I asked for colored line work, he said it would be more... but thats the most insane price Ive ever heard of. Johnnys attitude was also horrible, I was surprised he even asked me if I was ready before he put the needle to my skin. I was so uncomfortable even bringing up my issue with the price because the environment of the shop was so stuffy and toxic. In figuring out what me and my friends wanted he was extremely cold and condescending, he never asked what our names were or anything (he even started tattooing one of my friends before they said they were ready)-super awkward and bad with consent. I have a lot of tattoos and have been to lots of shops in Brooklyn- if they want to say this is a fair price for that work they are lying. I honestly felt like he was so annoyed that I asked him to use colored ink that he overcharged me out of spite. The woman at the front is extremely nice, and cleans the artists stations in between tattoos- I think she deserves to quit or needs a raise.
They are lovely here! They are super transparent about pricing of the piercing and the jewelry which is an additional price with the piercing itself! :) I’ve seen a few reviews about them being overpriced. If you ask for the cheapest and cost effective stud/ jewelry they will gladly tell you!
Josh Arsneau did my tattoo here and it turned out perfectly. Thin, clean lines on a dainty tattoo. We went a little smaller than initially quoted and he lowered the cost to give me a fair price. My husband has also been inked here by another artist and was happy with the results. Their new location is very nice.
So Ive never been for a tattoo, but I bought merch, and its some high quality wear. Great design. 10/10 will increase my chances of getting laid, and maybe even make me taller. Thanks Electric Anvil, now my wife, girlfriend, and mistress will all have to fight for my attention.
I have 4 tattoo from this shop . I love them all Kaiser was my tattoo Artis for theses two The mermaid and the party dog . I am obsessed with his work. I’ve always have a good experience here . I’m looking to do more work and will go back!!! Always recommend this spot even though Kaiser is not there no more i know all there tattoo artists are great my boyfriend got a tattoo by Josh!
I got 2 tattoos done by Jason within a 2 week time frame. The first tattoo took up my entire left forearm and I was charged $400 for it. It took about an hour and a half to complete. I am satisfied with the outcome of the tattoo so I shrugged off that charge. However, I returned 2 weeks later for another tattoo on my outer left bicep and I was charged another $400. This tattoo took only 53 minutes to complete. While it came out well, I feel that I was seriously over charged for it. The staff is very friendly and professional but they charge way too much. I am not satisfied with the quality of the tattoo for the price I was charged. I should not have been charged $400 for less work than was done on my first tattoo from this spot.
Great and friendly staff. We did the get what you get tattoos and it was a fun experience. You just have to be open minded.
Great first tattoo experience. Artist was super professional and pulled off the level of detail essential for what I wanted.
My first experience was great. The receptionist was responsive, I easily scheduled my appointment, made my deposit and got a great tattoo. Recently I tried to schedule another appointment and felt like I was beginning them for a tattoo lol super slow to respond even though they’re open everyday. Decided to go elsewhere.
Amazing service. Went in for a walk in right at noon & they attended to us super quickly. Tron had the most calming & grounding energy. Super kind & listened to what I wanted. Tattoo turned out great! Thank you, I will definitely be back!
Amazing artists, very professional and calm environment. Walked in first time with a very vague idea of what I wanted and they turned my description into a beautiful piece of artwork. If youre shopping around its more expensive than other shops in the neighbourhood but you always get what you pay for in that case. Went back for a second tattoo and even brought my mom here for her first one. Bottom line, I love this place; Its clean and full of very talented, experienced artists, and you get a very personal, custom experience worth every penny. Check it out of your even considering getting a tattoo.
Very professional. I got both side of my ears pierced, one lobe and one helix. The process was clean, efficient and almost painless. While the earrings were expensive, my piercings have been healing beautifully. A few days after, I had minimal pain and absolutely no blood. I would definitely come again.
The ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE! If I could give a ZERO it would have been done. I live in North Carolina. I had my sister call and setup an appointment for her, myself and my niece to get tattoos today. She spoke with Vincent, all was set and we were told to be there by 4pm. We arrived a little early at 3:30pm. After discussing pricing for the art we wanted (Which I had to change my initial Tattoo that I wanted because Vincent told me I would need an appointment to get that particular one done!). I said lets do my second choice. I was preliminary quoted $500 then after drawing it up I was quoted $700. Again I said lets do it and I would make an appointment on 7/25 to get the initial choice completed (as my flight leaves tomorrow). My sister and my niece finally selected their final tattoos to be drafted and agreed on pricing about 30mins later. After waiting outside for 1 1/2 hours and observing Vincent walking out the shop to retrieve paper towels from the grocery store. My niece asked him what was the wait time. He comes outside and stated, Their tattoos were about to be next. I asked abt mine and he said, That mine would need an appointment because it would take 3 hours and they close @8 ... Which he stated,It would take 3hrs @4:15pm when I selected my 2nd choice. Therefore I opted out of us spending $1400 plus dollars on family tattoos based on the unprofessionalism and unpleasant experience as a 1st time visitor to this establishment. Worthless WASTE of 2 1/2 hours of my trip in Brooklyn and my families time..Thanks for nothing but a waste of time VINCENT!
Staff were friendly and super punctual. Talking and getting ideas with Joseph the artist was an awesome experience :)
First tattoo during a holiday in NYC. It was a walk in... I was rather intimidated and it turned out to be the perfect experience. Josh Arseneau put me at ease instantly and was patient when we discussed the details with a wealth a invaluable experience. The tattooing was flawless and swift. The music tunes playing were just right. The result is amazing. Trust them, they are true artists and can put their own twist on your original idea. Highly recommended.
Vince just gave me my first two tattoos over the last 3 weeks and did an awesome job. He has super nice chill and grounding energy which is great for tattoo noobs like me :)
Went here to get a new Threadless labret for my nose piercing. Broad selection of jewelry and I went with a neometal trinity. Piercer picked a god length post for me with swelling in mind. $15 fee for removal and replacement In addition to the cost of the jewelry and post. Really not competitive pricing (cheaper with equivalent quality spots in lower Manhattan) but it worked for my purposes that day.
I had Chris and he did a top job. Nice guy and friendly and easy to talk too. Would definitely be back.
Came for my first tatoo, and my experience with Ashley was absolutely perfect. My tatoo was small, so I cant speak for larger design, but the whole thing was completely painless. Service is friendly and atmosphere is welcoming. Ill come back here if I get another tatoo!
It was super cool very professional due to the pandemic I couldnt get my nose or lip done but its understandable. Im going back in July i got my eyebrow done painless and super cute. He even made it look cute after I had my old one gone it was too big and deep.
Went here last week for my first tattoo for a simple tattoo ( 3 small birds an 5 small musical notes) (no coloring, not much detail) the artist charged me $140 !! in the moment I didnt care because it was my first tattoo an I was super excited. But after analyzing&showing other tattoo artists and friends my new tat they definetly confirmed the artist over charged me. the quality of work didnt match the price either.. Ill just call it a lesson learned. Wont be going back, and I dont recomend going. One of my friends said and I quote he could of at least added 2 more notes or a couple more birds) they were teasing me but I knew they were right smh. When I looked at the tattoo the only thing I thought of was gentrification.**UPDATE I FOUND A NEW ARTIST THATS REALLY DOPE AND HE FIXED IT, ADDED MORE DETAIL, AN ALSO CONFIRMED I WAS OVERCHARGED
I highly recommend Electric Anvil. Clean, beautiful & thoughtfully decorated space. Amazing roster of artists, reasonable pricing, and friendly, helpful service. A+ experience, one of the premier tattoo shops in all of NYC.
Popped in today with my wife for the get what you get tattoo. Great shop, super talented and friendly artists, quick in and out with some sick new ink. Cant recommend this shop enough.
Clean and professional, which is obviously more important than ever during COVID times. Great group of people, I laughed several times during my session just from their banter, and Jason did a great job tattooing me and my friend. Will return!
Jason Monroe is a great tattooist. I enjoyed talking with him while he was working on me. The art is spectacular.
The shop is clean and the employees are professional and had great work shown in their profolios online however I guess it is hit or miss. Came in with an ugly flower on my wrist that I wanted covered or reworked. Showed the artist a picture but asked for him to be creative and put his own spin on it. He copied the picture exactly and gave poor advice on the coloring. From far away the tattoo looks like a burn mark and from up close it looks like an ugly flower which is what I had in the first place. As others have stated the high prices do not match the quality of work. I was disappointed and will not be getting anymore tattoos on my body. I should have waited to go to a better artist, now the tattoo cannot be fixed.
Didn’t take the time to listen to what i wanted/consult with me. was questioned about my tattoo idea rather than letting me clearly detail and explain it although i was there waiting 30-40 minutes. ended up with a tattoo i’m either getting covered or removed. the receptionist was nice but a little confused so 2 stars
Had my cartilage piercing changed here early in July. I felt totally safe thanks to all of the safety measures put in for COVID and the piercer was so nice. Definitely will return in the future!
Love them! Gone a couple times over the years always good. Shoutout to Shannon!
By far the best piercing experience I’ve ever had, even with a not so typical piece I was in and out in about an hour and the piercing process itself was professional and very laid back. I’m definitely coming back for more!! Thank you Mahalia!!
Boxcar did a hummingbird on my back and Burton did a turtle on my leg. Both healed up really quick and very nicely. The shops really clean. $100 shop minimum tho so if youre going here make it a tattoo worth $100
I walked in today to get my first tattoos, Chris (@burtontattoos) helped me with my ideas and was super understanding with all the changes I wanted to make to them. He takes his time to get every detail right designing them and tattooing them.
I never thought a tattoo parlor could be gracious until I met Josh Arseneau. This is by far our new sole place for family ink. Thanks for the amazing experience and taking such good care of my wife who was getting her first tattoo!
During my vacation in NYC I decided to visit Electric Anvil because I saw a clip on Youtube abut the get what you get machine. Therefore, I wanna let the fate (or the machine) decide about my new tattoo. Cris Burton was my tattooer and he did a fantastic job. Hes a relaxed and really friendly guy and as a tattoer hes simply great and really carefully. I was absolutely happy with the result. I only can recomend Chris Burton and Electric Anvil.
I think electric anvil should be the only place that does tatExcellent artists and the welcome is pleasant. My expectations were met and if youre looking to do in this is the place to walk into
300$ for ear piercing is ridiculously high, overcharged and they dont have fixed price list , they charge whatever price they want. Definitely not recommended, they have tons of ear piercing parlors around, just go, anywhere, dont waste your money at this, not worth it.
One of the best tattoo experiences Ive had! I was a walk in with a clear idea of what I wanted and Jason was incredible. Ill be back for sure!
Wonderful experience. Jose was very professional and comforting. This is my second piercing with him. Followed infection control guidelines. Highly recommend him.
Great shop. Quality work that is worth every penny. Ive gotten 4 tattoos freon this shop so far and am getting a cover up done there in April.
Very clean and professional! Jamie answered all of my questions about piercing my nose respectfully and professionally. Their forms are electronic and I was able to have a copy emailed to me. Very nice place!
I LOVE this shop. I get tattooed here by multiple artists and get my ears pierced by Mahalia. Tron and Myles are my go to artists but, honestly, all the artists are awesome. Would recommend!!
Steven (sp?) really went above and beyond in quite a few respects. The prices are perfectly reasonable for what you get; considering the quality they’re a killer deal.I’ll be back when I find myself in Brooklyn again. Couldn’t be happier.
I did a walk in and as soon as you walk in those doors the what you want how you want it and where. Extremely good service and a great environment. Id recommended making a appointment before hand just so you dont have to wait but its really worth the wait either way!
Got a get what you get tattoo here. Super friendly, artists care about what they’re doing, one of the best tattoo experiences I’ve ever had. Would recommend anyone come here
Great old school shop with friendly and professional artists
Great tattoo place, thank you Vova 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Got my first tattoo by Fernando. Such a great experience. Thank you so much!
I came here with my girlfriend to get a palm sized tat and the tat came out pretty dope but at the end 250 is way way to much for what I got. The artists were super nice and cool but it was overcharged too damn much.
Went here today and felt like they were a little overpriced. The staff was incredibly nice, friendly, and professional. The work they did was amazing but just not for the price I paid for it. Might not come back.
Ashley was my tattoo artist and shes so nice and gentle, I loved getting tattooed by her. The rest of the staff seems nice too.
Got my ears pierced by Jose! He was super professional and did a great job! Would 100% recommend
Best shop in town! Got my nose pierced here and it was a smooth and easy process. 10/10
First tattoo came out great from Jeremy Sutton.
Excellent local shop with great artists.
Great shop! Cool artists (especially Chris Burton), clean space, fantastic art. Will definitely be back for another tattoo!
Ive been tatting with Josh for a few years now, got 4 so far. His work is great, Always puts his own twist on things to make them better
Do NOT go here for piercings. The guy told us we had that in order to remove the earring he pierced our ears with, we had to come back like 3 months after to get them taken out by a piercing professional…….. you literally just pull the stud out of the backing…… like why would you tell people that?
Jason did a great job on my very first tattoo and put me at ease with good conversation. Recommended!
Had a great walk in session. Got exactly what I wanted and it came out great!
Got some ear piercings here, and it was great customer service. Very clean and well accommodating to the covid lifestyle.
I did a walk in this afternoon, and everyone was very nice and professional, I got a great little tattoo on under an hour!
Awesome experience at the toys for tats. Love my Hot Stuff.
Jose was awesome, great experience and I’ll definitely return for future piercing needs!
Very professional but also very easygoing. I love our tattoos!
Had my nose piercing done here and I can say the staff is wonderful, will definitely come back for more piercings.
Love love love this place since their og location when it was closer to Eastern Parkway. Impeccable work & best vibes.
I love the artists and vibe of this shop. I dont get my tattoos done anywhere else!
Get what you get is a fun way to get a random tattoo and the staff is extremely talented
Chris is awesome. Extremely patient and light handed ! I would definitely recommend him to anyone !
Awesome work, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Ive got 3 from Josh and will be getting many more.
Got my upper lobes pierced by Jose and had a great experience overall!
This shop totes some of the best artists in the city. Excellent for someone looking to explore a tattoo idea with an artist.
My go-to spot for tatts and a chat. Great guys and gals. Great artists. Great friends.
Two pieces from this place and their get what you get tattoos are a great value for the fun
Piercing for a reasonable price. Quick and efficient!
Super nice people but DAMNN that minimum fee of $150 is ridiculous
Awesome piercer...he changed me septum ring for me.
Great shop, great artists. Couldnt be happier with the work.
Great spot for quick walk in piercings
The worst attitude on one of employee its like he didnt even want to be there
I liked the environment and got a cool tat
