I went for a second earlobe piercing and had a really pleasant experience. Jules was very kind, patient and efficient. I have had a lot of problems with infections over the years and she was very reassuring and understanding. She used titanium and gave special instructions to avoid these types in f problems. The process was fairly pain-free and so quick. I appreciated her professionalism and attentiveness.

I had an amazing experience at Hand of Glory! Conan was my artist for my very first tattoo, and he made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. Everyone at the shop was super friendly and welcoming, which really helped ease my nerves. The tattoo turned out perfect, and I absolutely love it. I’ve been tattooed by both Kate and Mike and get compliments on my tattoos everywhere I go. I had gone to several different tattoo artists all around CT, NY, and MA but as soon as I found Kate I’ve never seen anyone else since. I’ve been getting tattooed by her for 6 years now and still make a 3 hour drive to come see her because her work is beyond phenomenal.She’s done almost all of the work on both of my sleeves and started on my legs now and I love her vision for how to place each piece to look like a cohesive sleeve. She is able to take any concept I have and create it in her own distinct style and I would trust her with absolutely any design.The shop is also amazing. It’s beautiful, clean, easy to find, and the staff is so friendly. I am so grateful to have found them and recommend the shop to everyone.

Hand of Glory is a fantastic little shop nestled in Park Slope. The staff is chill, inviting, and there is so much cool flash and artifacts to look at while you’re getting inked.I went to Carli Cass last week for a special concept and am over joyed with the results. A week later it’s healing very nicely!The piece she did on me is in an American trad style but colored in a way that is successfully painterly on skin. Really makes me feel like living art!I will definitely be going back for future work from Carli and checking out the other artists at the shop. This one’s a gem!

My partner and I just got matching tattoos at Hand of Glory and couldn’t be happier with the art work and experience! Carli was our artist and she was super kind and helpful, I asked her to adjust something in the original sketch and I also asked her to place it a little higher up the body; and she was happy to take the time to get us exactly what we needed. The vibe was relaxed and clean the front of house woman was also very nice. Exactly what you would want in your neighborhood tattoo parlor.

Hand of Glory is the best! I have gotten several tattoos here throughout the years and they are always friendly, professional, and make you feel welcome. On 4/14 I called for walk-in availability and was told to come right over. My artist was Carli and she was absolutely incredible! She drew up my tattoo on the spot and even worked with me when I saw a second design that I was interested in getting done. She tattooed both on me that day and was so kind and made the time pass quickly.

I couldn’t have asked for a better artist for my first tattoo than I found in Jim. He was kind, patient, and attentive. The whole experience was very enjoyable. Thanks Jim for a once in a lifetime experience.

I got my lobes pierced by Jules. She told me everything she was going to do before she did it and made me feel super comfortable. She was super knowledgable, warm, and made me feel like I was in control of the piercing process. 100% would get many more piercings from her!

My boyfriend came to this shop for tattoo and the lines aren’t connected, some buildings don’t have roofs,it looked nothing like the stencil, and it doesn’t look finished.Artist recommended the style but you can barely make out the buildings and looks sloppy which is sad because he was really excited for this piece but it doesn’t look good and needs to be covered up. Artist is Conan dayne.waste of 400 bucks.

Jules was very professional and friendly. The shop is sanitary and clean. She made me feel comfortable throughout the process. She did it beautifully and fast! Then, she thoroughly explained how to take care of the piercing afterwards. Never got any infections, healed nicely. Highly recommended!

In the last 2 months I got 3 tattoos, and a piercing and I brought my mom to get her first tattoo. Great shop, super clean and sterile (helps healing tremendously). Nice people, owner is chill. I was a bit nervous but was kept very comfortable with Haley the one who pierced me. They were so helpful in keeping me comfortable and relaxed throughout the process! Hands down the best tattoo shop in Brooklyn. Ive gotten almost all of my tattoos don’t by various artists in the shop that were available for a walk-in. 17 tattoos later whenever I come in I’m not worried about who the artist is or if they are any good. My most recent artist was Dave. I came in for a snake tattoo around my wrist. After briefly consulting with him he suggested a change in placement since there isn’t much available skin on my right arm. We decided to have the snake coming down my arm and wrapping around a skull tattoo (previously tattooed at the same agoto), also he customized the snake vs using a generic reference. the end result is amazing! I love it!!. The snake ties all of my tattoos together and filled up a few empty areas of skin. I get compliments on my tattoos ALL the time! Recommend This shop 1000%

My friend and I had a phenomenal experience getting our ears pierced here. Our piercer Jules was extremely kind, skilled, knowledgeable and professional. She gave us her well informed opinions on piercing placement and choosing the best jewelry. So far our piercings are healing beautifully without any pain. Took my mom for her first tattoo here! From calling ahead and speaking with the friendly, informative Audrey. To working with Kamal (Poison) the guest artist, both my mother and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Professional, clean, and cool environment. Talented, attentive and generous artist. Everything was great. My mother got two pieces at once, and I got a tattoo as well. Was thrilled they took such great care of my mother for her first piece. Gave great feedback on placement. Printed several sizes to try out; and patiently worked with us both. Would highly recommend this shop and I’ll definitely be going back.

Had such a great experience here. Sam Roldos is probably my favorite tattoo artist I’ve come across—her skill and rendering is fantastic, shes friendly, informative and was just generally overall a pleasure to sit with for a pretty long session and my now biggest piece. Nicole (Or Taylor? My apologies!! Forgetting your name) upfront was also just such a sweet person and was a great energy to encounter when first coming in. Completely recommend this place without any reservation.

Had an appointment with Mike M on 01/13/2024. We met Mike prior to make arrangements. The piece I wanted needed some changes. I was little nervous because it was my first time at Hand of Glory. Mike is an AMAZING artist. Very neat. The changes he made were exactly the way I wanted them, even better :) Definitely coming back for more. Place is sterile clean and staff is very welcoming and professional. 10/10

Had a lovely experience at Hand of Glory; the shop manager and my artist, Kate, were friendly and made me feel comfortable in the shop. Kate was lovely to work with and my tattoo came out gorgeous! I travelled from Boston for the tat and would gladly make the trip to get inked here again.

Jim was really nice about doing a simple design that I made myself. Im sure it wasnt very exciting for him as a project, but he makes you very comfortable and confident and the tattoo is exactly what I wanted. Im going to make another appointment tomorrow to modify an existing tattoo with a small change because he was so gracious about doing my little job last time. I know hes a brilliant artist, but hes also kind and easy to work with.

They were literally so amazing I had a piercing from a different place and the jewelry was irritating it I came here and she switch it out for a gold hoop and she sized my ear perfectly and was the kindest ever

I came here to get my eyebrow re pierced and im so glad I did! I had pierced my eyebrow about 2 years ago but it wasnt pierced properly to accommodate a hoop like I wanted and didnt heal well when I finally changed my jewelry. I decided to try again and Jaymes listened to all my concerns and never once dismissed me. He was extremely respectful and considerate(really on top of names and pronouns) and I felt very safe in his care. He walked me through his decision making process and said I could always come back to schedule a free check up to ensure my eyebrow is healing well and can have a hoop in the future. They gave me a card that included not just after care instructions but all the details surrounding my jewelry which I have never received before but just goes to show how thoughtful the team at Hand of glory is.

I came here as a walk in to get a flash design by Jim. It was a slow and foggy night, found the place easy enough and it was a really chill environment. Jim was awesome at putting up with me haha. My artist was Kristina, an amazing, courteous, and talented tattoo artist. She did amazing work for my lilac tattoo, explained what was happening, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Cannot recommend Jim Gentry enough, I wanted to get an American Traditional style Doberman on my skull. He was incredibly professional, got the drawing exactly right on the first go and absolutely nailed the tattoo. If you want someone who is a great artist AND a great tattooer - Jim is the one!!

Id thought about getting a tattoo for a while, but was shy about actually going through with it. Didnt feel cool enough, didnt know what the process would be like. But I did know what I wanted (a couple of favorite verses of scripture) and one day I woke up and just felt that today is the day. I live near Hand of Glory, know plenty of people who have gone there, and my daughter had her ears pierced at The End is Near a while back so I trusted they would be good. I walked in, no appointment, and nervously explained what I wanted. They could not have been nicer or more welcoming. They explained the whole process to me, and squeezed me in that same day. Jim Gentry drew up some designs for me, I chose the ones I liked best, and about an hour later, I walked out with exactly the two tattoos I had been dreaming of, only even better than I imagined. Jim was so patient and gentle—I cant say enough what a great experience this was from start to finish, and how happy I am. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you!!! (These are freshly done in the photo, so theyre a little pink, but they healed up easily and perfectly a couple days later, no trouble at all.)

Second time getting a tattoo with Jim Gentry at HoG. What a sweetheart. Did a great job both times; has his own artistic vision but was super accommodating to what I wanted. Space is clean and pleasant. Came all the way from Philadelphia for my tattoo and glad I did.

The average of 5 stars for Hand of Glory Tattoo is not hype. i have two tattoos from HGT. i worked with both Michael and Carli, respectively. Eachs work, in my opinion, is true artistic mastery. I chose unique and detailed images from images. For what they created, the cost was quite low. I feel like the tattoos are magical. Please see the picture. I call them Love and Mercy. Youll see why.

He made sure the sizing/placement was exactly what I wanted, was a gentle tattooer, and checked in on how I was doing throughout. Most importantly, the end result was amazing! I had a great experience getting my first tattoo by Kamal at Hand of Glory. I wanted a symbolic (to me) very simple fine black line wave. The entire process at Hand of Glory was easy: I emailed for an appointment, they worked with my schedule to pair me with a tattoo artist, I sent in design ideas and then arrived with a different design, which they quickly pivoted to. The shop was pleasant, everyone was friendly, and they took great pains to keep everything clean and sanitized for the tattoo process. If I ever want another tattoo, I will be back!

I got my first tattoo here (walked in on a Monday, was seen almost right away). Jim was an excellent artist, very calming and chill. The work he did was stellar and I am already thinking about my next one and booking directly with Jim. One of my worries with my first tat was discomfort, but I was almost asleep on the table! After two days my tattoo is barely sore (inner arm) and looks great.

I’ve been tattooed by Kate and Mike quite literally dozens of times. In all the hours of their work with me I’ve always been impressed and I’ve never been disappointed. Physically, they are both quick tattooers and make the process as comfortable as a tattoo can be. In addition to being incredibly talented artists they both take their craft very seriously. They are fabulous at communication and are always ridiculously thorough, even if you know the drill like me! Most importantly, they are people you can feel safe with- people you will never regret being tattooed by, and people who genuinely care about your experience with them. I’ve been tattooed by so many people and I’ve learned how common and easy it is for people to be treated like replaceable canvases, slapped in a chair, and tattooed hastily. It takes a true professional and good human to treat you like you and your experience matters. You’ll find that in both Kate and Mike, you’ll also find yourself looking much cooler when you leave them. If you’re looking for a great and ethical artist that your skin is safe with, check either of them out- you won’t be disappointed.

My partner and I came here for very specific tattoos. We had I love you tattooed on our wrists in each others handwriting. It was very meaningful to us for a number of reasons, and we were not experienced with tattoos so we were a bit nervous. We called to make an appointment and the person we spoke to explained that they show the idea to all the artists to see who is best suited to the project (and who is free to do it!). Its a good system, and they were able to fit us in very quickly.Dave was our artist, and he was very patient and understanding with our jitters. He changed the size last minute and carefully honored each and every aspect of both of our handwriting, down to the period at the end of the sentence. It was a great experience and we love our tattoos. Thank you, Dave! We will be back!

Amazing place and amazing people! I was 30 minutes late for my appointment and they were still accommodating. I did call them an hour before to let them know, but they were still so kind. I got my tattoo done by Sam roldos and she was awesome! The tattoo is so well done and detailed. Everyone loved it. Highly recommend to anyone in Brooklyn looking to get a tattoo.

I went to Hand of Glory a few weeks ago and had an amazing fine line tattoo done by Carli. She worked closely with me to design exactly what I had envisioned, which was a Serotonin molecule. The lines were very straight and the circles very even, I couldnt be happier with the outcome!

I’ve gotten most of my piercings done at their sister location The End is Near but came here recently for a nostril piercing and my experience was just as great! Super friendly and helpful staff (my piercer was Jaymes and he was awesome). Highly recommend!

Jim Gentry was fantastic! We had wanted simple line drawings, he produced excellent renderings and took time to ensure we were happy with placement. He explained all the steps of prep to my sibling, a tattoo virgin, and was very sweet and pleasant with us both. The process was quick for 2 walk-ins and the pricing was very reasonable. The shop is super clean and welcoming, and while they focus on American and Japanese styles, he did excellent work on my small illustrated piece. Excellent service, will return!

Ive been going to Hand of Glory Tattoo for the past 5 years. I’ve gotten over 35+ tattoos from Jim - one of the most amazing and uniquely talented tattoo artists in NYC. Hand of Glory is two blocks away from me, scheduling is incredibly easy, and it’s a safe, welcoming, and efficient. I trust Jim and the folks over at Hand of Glory (and I’ve been to my fair share of tattoo parlors over the past 25 years or so).

I love this place! I got my nose pierced here 4 years ago and it healed beautifully. I just went back today to get my targus pierced and James was amazing.. made me feel so comfortable and was such a sweetheart! The pain was a 2/10. Very minimal. Will definitely be going back, and as long as they are business will only let them pierce me. Definitely recommend this place. You won’t regret it!

My friend and I went in for ear piercings (helix). Scheduling appointments was very easy and convenient. They had us move locations to their other studio but they notified us and its only a block away. We had Jaymes do our piercings and he was SO great. He not only was super personable and made us feel safe, but he walked us through what he was doing, aftercare, and just general affirmation:) Would highly recommend and definitely will go back for more ear piercings.

I had called on Saturday about my interest in getting tattoo done. I went in later that day and immediately was seen by one of the artists (Dave) who discussed my ideas with me. My scheduling was a little messed up so I couldnt then make a appointment but I was told I could call at any time and would work as a walk in too. I came in the following day and Dave had an appointment coming in, so I was seen by one of the amazing guest artists Mike. He sketched up my design but I wasnt entirely happy with it, so he tweaked some things here and there and it came out absolutely perfect.The receptionist (I forget her name) is absolutely incredible too, shes super kind and welcoming and is there to answer any questions you may have.I have one other tattoo (done at another place) and the experience wasnt very pleasant. So I was hesitant to go in to another place but Im so glad I did. If you want to get a tattoo in NYC, go here!!!!

I had an incredible experience with Jaymes last weekend for my septum piercing! I had originally scheduled the appointment at The End Is Near, however the piercer there recommended I switch to Jaymes if I wanted to start with a solid hoop instead of the horseshoe shape. He then got me on Jaymess calendar 30 minutes later at Hand of Glory. Once there, the entire process was very quick and easy. Jaymes was very friendly and made sure that all of my questions were answered before piercing. Highly recommend! Thank you again Jaymes you were awesome!

I called ahead to see if they had availability for a walk-in, and they did. After arriving, I was there about a total of 30 min. Jim was very easy to work with and professional, and I felt like he truly cared how my tattoo turned out. It was very clean and comfortable. I would return if I decide to get another!

My session was 45min and he charged me $300. No shading No Color. 2 Flowers on my foot.

I went in for a few ear piercings and Jaymes was amazing! He helped me choose the studs first and told me what my final price would be before the piercings which I really appreciated. The piercings themselves were such an easy experience and Jaymes made sure there was minimal pain and lots of distraction lol. I would highly recommend going here for an easy, and safe piercing experience!

I recently went there to get “nevermore” written on my ankle in personal handwriting - the folks there helped me to maintain the integrity of the handwriting while altering it slightly to ensure the longevity of the ink, which I really appreciated. It was quick, clean, and healed perfectly.

Got my first tattoo here with Kate, approximately 10 minutes ago. The experience was overall fantastic. We made a booking earlier in the day for our slot, we arrived approximately 10 minutes early and basically immediately met with Kate who went over the sketches with us and adjusted it as needed. She then went away to prep her station as I waited with my pal, and soon after, the tattooing began. She told me what to expect, relative to an experience that I verbalized I have had in the past, which made it a lot less daunting. The actual process of being tattood was what would be expected, the machine buzzes and the skin feels pulled and, as Kate described, it feels like a cat scratch, but for an extended period of time. Once it was done, she offered to take a photo, bandaged it up in a UV blocking bandage and gave me very clear and thorough aftercare instructions along with her card and told me to contact if I have any questions. I absolutely adored my experience here, and Im not sure if it honestly couldve gone any better for a first tattoo.

Worked with Jim, went in for a cover up because another Place I went to really messed up my tattoos. love the piece he drew out and covered my old tattoo perfect. He even touched up my old ink! Not only is he Very friend and had great service but people that worked at the shop was as well. Really love this shop and definitely will be coming back in the future for more ink by him!!

I had a great experience here from start to finish. I was a walk-in and was able to go from walking in the door to being tattooed in about 40 minutes. I was pleased to learn that the shop minimum is a very fair $100. My tattoo artist was kind, respectful, really knew his craft, and he very patiently worked with me to perfect my tattoo design. During the tattooing process, my artist prioritized my comfort and asked how I was doing often. Everyone else on staff was also polite and helpful. The shop itself is VERY clean and has a nice ambience. Overall an awesome tattoo experience, Ill definitely be back.

Jaymes made the experience and the whole process of getting my ears pierced a breeze….this was my first piercing and I was quite concerned about the pain and hygiene. Jaymes put it all to rest and got through the process very deftly with almost no pain whatsoever….a hallmark of a highly skilled technician. I got a tattoo here on Friday the 13th. It wasnt an actual 13th-themed tat, but I was expecting the place to be slammed. They had a steady stream of clients coming in and out but it was never very slammed which is nice. Vince greeted me at the front desk and set me up for the next session. He was really organized and thoughtful and even got my a water from next door. The artist Brendan was kind and professional, and FAST with a super clean and perfect delivery. I came in with a simple line drawing and he elevated it nicely with his own style of shading and ideas for positioning on my arm. In and out in 30 minutes once I laid down on the table. Everyone here is really nice and professional.

Made an appointment for a tattoo on my back. Brendan was recommended to me by a friend at work and he did an awesome job! It came out exactly as I hoped. I also had to reschedule and Brendan was extremely flexible. Had a great experience and will be glad to come back!

I had a specific tattoo designed that needed a little creative thinking. I met with Mike on Saturday to discuss my request and the following day he applied the design. The team were great, the space was clean and comfortable, and the tattoo turned out great.
