Stopped into this shop for a very small touch up. Literally only needed a black line touched up that got spotty and 2 tiny leaves colored in green. Did NOT expect a high price for a job that would literally only take 5 minutes to do so when Jon said he could take care of it we sat down and got started and THEN he mentioned that this would be “about $150.” We were blown away but already at the point where we couldn’t change our mind and walk away. The tattoo we got touched up didn’t even cost that much in total so I can’t believe he asked for that much and didn’t even tell us ahead of time. I understand this might just be a more expensive shop but a touch up THAT SMALL should never cost that much and it should be made clear ahead of time. I just feel like Jon made up that price on the spot to get as much out of us as he could. We would have never spent that much on a black line and a few green dots if we had known. Definitely makes me never want to return here.

Got an amazing peice done by Erich, staff was really sweet and pricing was super fair. Would definitely recommend this shop to anyone who wants a great tattoo.

Super friendly artists with a wide range of talents. I think the pricing is fair, John Butcher drew me something matching exactly what Id asked him for and applied it without issue or incident. Now that its healed up I can see the man is a true artist and technician. Ill be going to him again for sure.

I had never been to Modern Love before. I walked in a few minutes after they opened to see if I could get a tattoo. I spoke with Jon and he was able to set up an appointment for me later that day. Jon was very friendly & professional and did an absolutely fantastic job on my tattoo. I highly recommend that anybody that is looking for any of their services to do so. I will for sure be back as soon as I can.

My wife and I got tattoos done here. The place is very clean and professional, and their work looked great. Definitely recommend. Bring cash to pay though.

Amazing experience. I walked in with a picture of a tattoo my grandpa got probably 50 years ago and Jon reimagined it for me. He knew the history of the tattoo and made the new version of it look exactly how I imagined my grandfather’s looked when he got it. The price was extremely reasonable and I was in and out of there within an hour and a half. I don’t live in Buffalo but I will probably hold off on getting another tattoo until I can come back to Modern Love.

Ive gotten several tattoos from Erich, and will get many more. Top notch work as always and a great guy.

If I could give Modern Love Tattoo, and Andy my artist, 10 stars, I would! I love my tattoo even more than the reference photo I brought in!! Andy was super timely calling me back, and managed to get me in the same day, on a cancellation. The place was clean, friendly, and Covid-19 distanced. Andy worked quickly, beautifully, and maintained a light touch all through the session. Im definitely coming back for other tattoos with Andy in the future. Im so glad I found this place!!!

They were great! The guy I had was able to squeeze me in and did an awesome job. I had an idea of what I wanted, and he went back and drew something up for me in no time. LOVE my tattoo!

Ive been getting my tattoos done at this parlor for two years now and I can say that I am very satisfied with my tattoos! I have three from there so far and I will be (hopefully) getting my fourth soon. Amelia always does an amazing job and I would highly recommend seeing any of the artists there. A+

Got a tattoo there a few weeks ago. They are very friendly! Walked in and was able to get my tattoo then! John I believe did my tattoo, he was very nice and did an excellent job! Will definitely be going back!

Erich Foster is seriously one of the best tattoo artists in the area. Line work is all perfect and the shading and coloring is amazing. I have many tattoos from him and will continue to go back as long as he is around!Extremely clean shop and amazing artists! What else can you ask for?

Neither of these photos do the work I got from here any justice. Ive been looking for my shop where I click with the artists and am given a result 100 times better than I could imagine. Erich and John do amazing work and really do listen to what you want. The artists are all professional, easy going, and quite talented. Of all the shops I tried this is my favorite and there is nothing bad I can say about the business, keep up the great work!

I can not say enough great things about this shop! I have been tattooed by all 4 of the current artists there, and love every single one. Very friendly and professional atmosphere. Every one I have referred to them has had an awesome experience as well. Highly recommend!!!!The get what you get deal is an experience in it self.On my birthday, I visited Amelia Martin for a tattoo. I requested a slice of birthday cake as a design. Her enthusiasm to do the design was off the charts, and the result was awesome to say the least. Thanks again Amelia.My last tattoo was from John Hogan. Got a killer Fu Dog on my chest. Can not wait to get another one from John.I have gotten more than a couple from Josh Adams, including a phenomenal 3/4 sleevee.Lastly Erich Foster. Been being tattooed by Erich for so long, I cant even remember the year of the first one, or exactly how many without counting.All these artists are very professional, and will take your idea and put it on you forever. I guarantee your first tattoo from Rise Above Classic Tattoing will not be your last.

Modern Love is easily head and shoulders above most other tatt shacks in and around Buffalo. Having been tattooed by most of the guys working there and some of the great traveling tattooers they attract to do guest spots I speak from experience when I say these guys are professionals. They are all fully able to do diverse styles of tattooing while each having their own unique style. So if you have a specific design you want, are looking to pick something from all the great flash they have on the walls or in their books, or have a concept you want to go with Modern Love is the place to be!

Really accommodating with any type of needs weather it be breaks or just to get up and stretch. Make sure to bring cash if not bank is down the street.

Amelia is extremely professional and courteous. As a skilled tattoo technician shell make every experience at Rise Above pleasant and enjoyable. I love all of my tattoos from her and will continue to get tattooed by Amelia for a long time.

Dale was a very good, relaxed and considerate artist who didnt side eye me for getting some nonsense from SpongeBob. Space was very clean and welcoming. Would absolutely come here again.

Amelia gave me my very first tattoo, and I am looking forward to getting more. She made me feel really comfortable, and all my concerns were answered right away. In the end, the tattoo is way more than I could have imagined, and I love it.

Amelia did my first tatt as well, at the ripe old age of 31. While I may have a little bias, her being my sister, I really wouldnt have let anyone make drawings on me if I didnt really like the work they do and have faith in getting a great piece. Love my tatt little sister, crisp dark lines, great color distribution. Amelias ethics and practice dealing with sanitization are also top notch (pretty important). I want another one when I make the trip up there to see you ;)
