The piercer was nice, but she didnt warn me that choosing hoops instead of studs for my double helix piercing would be much harder to heal and bleed a lot more. About 1-2 hours after I left the shop my ear started bleeding A LOT despite me not touching it or bumping it at all and I ended up passing out before it stopped. This was a year ago and it still hasnt healed at all. I dont think all of my bad experience is my piercers fault, but it was more expensive than places Ive been previously and felt a lot more rushed.
I didnt get her name, but the piercer there was amazing. She switched out my jewelry and was able to taper an old piercing back open effortlessly! I have been pierced here before and have always had a great experience. Highly recommend!
I went with my friend for her to get a tattoo. The tattoo turned out great and we both love it! However, I did not receive good service at all, to the point where he seemed hostile towards me. Just throwing it out there that I feel like this place is way overpriced and doesnt have the best energy with certain artists. Nothing against his artwork, though.
I’ve had 3 tattoos done here and I’ve had a great experience each time! Aurora is amazing and truly puts in the effort to make you feel safe and calm through the entire process. She also plays great music and even asks what you’d like to listen to :)
I came in without an appointment and they took me in within 5 minutes. My piercer was so kind and had the most positive energy, which eased my nervousness. My piercing turning out amazing and was minimal pain. I would DEFINITELY come here again.
I walked in here to get a nose piercing for the first time. I didn’t have to wait long and it was very quick. The piercer was very clean and gentle and it was cheap for the piercing and jewelry together. The staff are super friendly and interactive. Definitely go here if you’re thinking of getting pierced!
I have gotten almost all of my (30 something) piercings here, only 1 tattoo, i hate to say i was devastated by the tattoo but that was an individual person, not the shop as a whole. Some of the staff have a bit of prickle to them, but I kind of love that. It adds to the ambiance of the place. I plan to keep coming to BA for piercings, and have brought friends/family there for piercings. Never any issues & you can tell the staff are well practiced/trained.
TLDR - Piercer accidentally pierced me while putting in new jewelry.Im not one for leaving negative reviews but I feel like I have to share what happened to me here because it was pretty jarring.I went here to simply get new jewelry put into my 3rd earlobe piercings. They were pierced by another shop a few months ago. The existing jewelry was irritating so I decided to get small hoops put in their place. The person who worked with me at Body Art was nice, but when she put new hoops in I felt way more pain than expected. When she was done I looked in the mirror and noticed some blood but didnt question it.When I got home I saw that one of the hoops was actually very clearly coming out of a new hole. I could now see two different exit holes on the back of my ear.I didnt ask to get re-pierced, and my skin wasnt cleaned or prepared before the employee pushed a hoop earring through my ear. I know mistakes can happen but this felt very odd to me. I went back to the shop and showed the employee the new hole, she seemed genuinely surprised but ultimately at that point, the damage was done. Hoping everything heals ok and that this doesnt happen again!
Highly recommend going here for a piercing with Adrian. I’ve gone to her 3 times now and have been very satisfied every time. She is super personable and has a great personality. She makes sure you’re feeling safe and comfortable and knows what she’s doing ! If I ever want more piercings I’ll be sure to go to her!
So my friend and I decided we wanted septum piercings and that we wanted to get them at the same time. I was a little nervous at first, but the person who did my piercing (HUGE shoutout to Adrienne) was AMAZING. She talked us through the process of the piercing, the aftercare, and was very cool and funny. She even made sure to tell me how good it looked when she was done. If you get the chance to have Adrienne as your piercer, consider yourself SUPER lucky! She was awesome and the piercing was close to painless!!! Thank you Body Art!!!
I got my septum pierced here back in September and have been back in a couple times since for jewelry replacements. Its super convenient since they allow walk-ins without a long wait! Adrienne is an awesome piercer and aways so sweet! Shes also pierced a few of my friends and the piercings have all turned out great! I would definitely recommend :)
Great atmosphere, nice people, and very clean shop. However, the guy who pieced me botched my septum which it happens I get it but still very sad nonetheless. I give two stars because of that however from there tattoo setup and such I still thinks it’s a great place I just won’t be getting another piercing anytime soon. I am going to get it redone. Again nice place, great people, just need to touch up on septum piercings that’s all.
Adrienne did a great job piercing my firsts! I came in (walk-in) to get my ears done but wasn’t sure if I wanted to do one or both lobes. Adrienne was kind enough to mark both, do one, and let me decide if I wanted to do the second. She’s swift and careful.I was happy with the first but after a week or so I wanted to get the other lobe done. She scheduled an appointment with me and did my other ear! She paid close attention to making them even, finding matching jewelry for me, and answered all of my questions.Adrienne is very pleasant to work with, if you’re making an appointment, book with her. If you’re walking in, hopefully you’re lucky enough to get her like I did!
I went in to get my nose pierced by Marlie-Rae, she was super sweet and professional! I also got a forearm tattoo done by Asia, definitely recommend her, she did beautiful coloring and really worked with me on what I wanted.
I got my second lobes done as a walk in. My piercer, Adrienne, was amazing! She was so kind and made the process quick and easy. She took the time to make sure that she liked the placement of the marking before piercing anything. Would definitely recommend this place and Adrienne!
I’ve gone to Aurora three times so far for five tats total and I’ll definitely keep coming back! She’s so nice every time and always 100% understands my vision, plus has good suggestions for placement or adjustments, etc. She’s not heavy handed or rough and even makes extremely painful spots feel like a breeze to get tattooed. She’s also fast and so talented and just all around amazing at her job! Thanks so much Aurora
I’ve gone to Aurora for several tattoos and she has made each and every appointment unforgettable! She does everything she can to make sure you’re feeling comfortable and safe. She also is extremely talented and I’m OBSESSED with her work! I’ve sent friends and family to her and they continue to work with her. I HIGHLY recommend Body Art Tattoo and working with Aurora!
I got my belly pierced today with my mother (Im 15) and the front desk was very nice and the lady who periced my belly did a great job! Very professional and knew what she was doing. She set me with some cleaning supplies and found out some very important information. Would recommend going here!(Side note, they get very busy but give them a bit to call and you should be able to get in!)
I went to get my septum pierced today and Adrienne, my piercer, was so lovely! Very clean and professional shop, and everyone was so nice and helpful. Adrienne made sure to explain exactly what she was doing and how to take care of the healing process. Thank you so much!I also did not catch her venmo for a tip but I would really like to if anyone from the shop sees this!
I got my tounge Pierced around 2 weeks ago it’s almost fully healed and I love it very clean and fast place went in for a walk in with one other person and only took us abt 15 minutes to get in and out. The person who did my piercing was Paul
By the picture of my ankle looks clearly nothing like my reference photo on the right. I’m extremely disappointed. I wasn’t asked by the artist if I was okay with that much detail added. The more I look at it the more I hate it.
My roommate just got a tongue web piercing at 2:30 PM and had to take it out at 4:50 PM as soon as she got home because it was extremely crooked, torn, and was rubbing against her tendon which she did not want to pop. We had to call another piercing shop for advice because the piercer was extremely unprofessional and denied how clearly messed up the piercing was so could not advise a safe course of action. However he did secretly ask the cashier to take $20 off of her bill for his mistake. This establishment also apparently cannot find experienced or high quality piercers, as he pushed the needle through her tongue without any warning, countdown, etc. and did not give any instructions for aftercare besides giving her mouthwash and saying “swish.”Disappointing shop with low quality piercers who do not know which skills they do/do not have, staff who does not feel like taking responsibility for mistakes and refuses to be honest with customers, and very poor piercing procedures.
I got my septum pierced here the other day. When I walked in, the piercer was eating chips at the counter. He never introduced himself to me, so Im not sure of his name. He led me back to a piercing room and had me sit on a table. He put gloves on and started laying out his materials. Neither I nor my friend ever saw him wash his hands or put on hand sanitizer before putting on the gloves, and afterwards my friend even told me she had seen him lick his fingers (probably getting chip dust off) before putting gloves on. When the piercer put the measurement tool in my nose, he didnt seem to know what he was doing and asked me to tell him if it was in the same place his fingers had been. This was my first nose piercing, so I wasnt sure if this was normal, but it seemed strange. When the piercing was finished, I noticed that the piercing is uneven and the hoop was is crooked. (Photos attached show how crooked it is, sorry theyre so blurry). The piercer never went over proper aftercare with me, so I was left to do my own research. It seems to be healing okay, but I do not feel comfortable calling about any questions or concerns I may have. The silliest part is that right before going in, someone raced past on a bike and shouted dont go there, theyre bad! I wish I had trusted that stranger on the street.
This fella was super awesome! He turned on some Tracy Chapman fast cars sterilized everything including my nostrils ! And did his thing ! I’m super impressed and will definitely drive across the lake to give them my business
Aaron was a phenomenal artist who created a unique piece that flowed beautifully into my husbands existing tattoo. For a bunch of walk-ins, we are so grateful for the extra time and dedication you put into this. Thank you so much and we will DEFINITELY be back!
Got my septum done here a few months ago and had such an easy experience! The piercer was super personable and the piercing healed with no issues, she even helped me change the piercing after it was healed. I love it!
I went to this shop last May and had the worst piercing experience of my life.Ive had about a dozen piercings over the years and this visit left me in shock. The owner took me as a walk-in, I asked to have my conch done. I had my sister with me because she had hers done and I wanted a similar placement, which was upper-mid ear. The owner had me lay down, and then without warning--no countdown, no deep breath in, nothing--he just starting pushing a needle through the lowest, thickest part of my ear. Mind you, he didnt even mark the placement ahead of time and show me for approval. Nothing. It took about 5 minutes for him to yank my ear around enough in order to place the jewelry, pulling on and damaging some other proximal piercings in the process. Once we were done, I saw that this barbell was going straight up and down, the back even colliding with the few other piercings I had in my earlobes. I was dumbstruck and still processing what just happened, so I paid and left to have a meltdown in the car. My sister said that even witnessing what happened was borderline traumatic.A few days later, I saw another piercer at a studio I trust (VT Custom!!) and she helped me remove this disaster job. We both agreed it would never have healed properly and the placement was horrendous.tldr; do NOT have work done by the owner!! No care given at all to the work done on another humans body. He said hes been doing this for something like 40 years. If there is a God, this man has retired.
I came in after getting a cartilage piercing six months ago with a question about the healing process. Adrienne took the time to talk with me about next steps and provided extensive knowledge about earring options. I would recommend Adrienne’s services to anyone looking for a piercer in Burlington.
Adrienne has pierced my nostril and septum, both experiences were great! She’s incredibly gentle and makes sure you’re informed. This studio is the best over all! See Adrienne for your piercings and Aurora for your tattoos💞
Got my third peircings done here the placement was great and there was minimal pain in the healing process the peircers were so nice and the aftercare instructions helped a lot! Also super good prices
The staff were very nice and very helpful. I had my ear pierced by Adrienne, who did it nice and quick then gave us all the information we needed before asking if we had any questions. Overall great expirience, I would go back and would recommend others.
I got a nose piercing with Adrienne and she walked me through it! I was really nervous and she made the experience a lot nicer. It looks great and it was done quick! Good prices and excellent service🙏
Got any helix pierced and my nose piercing changed by Adrienne. She was amazing, I definitely recommend! Whole thing was super quick and easy, prices are also amazing I will be back very soon
I got my septum pierced by Adrienne, who was super friendly and careful about proper placement! I was a walk-in but there was no wait, and the process felt safe and hygienic. I would get pierced here again.
Love this place! I got a tattoo from aurora over the weekend and Im beyond happy with how it came out! She made me feel so comfortable and I enjoyed every minute of the experience. She made some beautiful designs for me and Im completely in love! Totally recommend this place and getting a tattoo done by aurora!!!
Aurora (@Favoritebunny_) has done every single tattoo of mine (all 12!!!) and I really love all of them. Not only is her line-work beautiful, she always has a safe and welcoming energy that makes the whole process so much easier & more fun. Overall a very badass artist!!!!!
Get ready for this because this is gonna be a long one. I had an appointment for a tattoo (I scheduled ahead of time so they had notice) and when I got there for my appointment the door was locked and no one was there (before you think “Oh you probably came at the wrong time/date” Nope, I was there the exact time my appointment was at) so I had knocked on the door for I don’t even know how long thinking maybe someone was inside and just couldn’t hear me because places like this always have music playing inside etc. I waited and waited, by that time it already was way past my appointment and on one final knock FINALLY someone came to the door. Except the person that came to the door was a new hire and they told me they had stayed to watch the place because the boss left for whatever reason and that they weren’t able to do anything for me. I explained the whole situation to them and they were like “I really don’t know” and they then said “If you come back in two hours I can do the tattoo for you” (they would call me, I gave them my number) which I live FAR away, but I was like sure okay. I waited outside in my car for TWO hours and never received a call. So after completely wasting hours of my time I never got my tattoo.
I dont trust any other tattoo shop in the Burlington, VT area, EXCEPT for Body Art Tattoo. Not only are they are the cleanest shop Ive been into, but the artists and owner(s) are very reasonable people. The atmosphere of the shop is extremely welcoming and the tattoo artists are amazing at what they do. Personally, I love Ryan Mallorys art and his technique behind the needle. Hes always able to squeeze me into his busy schedule, last minute, and Ill always be appreciative of that. I have always been treated nicely by the artists and will continue to be a loyal client to B.A.T! They are extremely trustworthy; Ive had an artist freehand one or two of my tattoos, and Im still in love with them 3 years later. I highly encourage everyone to check B.A.T Studio out and getting to know these kind and artistic people!
I went in today to swap out about ten piercings. I usually go somewhere else but there wasnt a piercer available for a couple of days so I came here. Once we got started the piercer worked quickly and very gentle and I had no issues whatsoever. One of my nose piercings has been stuck in my nose for several years and other piercers have tried to change it out- to no avail. He was able to get it out easily and swap the jewelry. The staff was friendly and personable. I will most likely return here in the future.
Hands down a fantastic experience. This was my first ever piercing and my girlfriends 15th piercing, and from both sides of the spectrum they were extremely professional. I was reading all the one star ratings and it made me a little worried but I personally didn’t experience any mistreatment. 10/10 will go back for more!
Ive been twice now. Once for a friend ear piercing and once for me. Very sterile, clean, and comfortable environment. Ali (Ally?) was super laid back and good at the job. Made me feel very comfortable and not nervous at all. They were very professional and didnt seemed annoyed by all my questions. I was also honored when they asked for my ID. I dont understand why this place doesnt have better reviews.
Maybe they’re a bit more rough around the edges, at the time masks weren’t mandated, and they weren’t wearing masks, but I’ve tried to get service at other tattoo/piecing places around Burlington, and these guys were by far the friendliest and least pretentious and least Covid-phobic to an extreme degree than all of them. Unlike Yankee Tattoo (which canceled my appointment the day of, only calling me a few minutes before my appointment to cancel after I drove an hour to Burlington) I was able to walk in and get an appointment at this place right away. I’m very happy with the ear piercing job they did.
I went to body art when Marley was the piercer months ago and they were great. However, when I went in to get my septum pierced, Marley had left the studio so Tatum did it. Tatum was fine and the piercing looks good. When I went back to have the jewelry replaced, I had a miserable experience. First, the owner was smoking cigarettes in the hallway blocking the door to the studio. If I hadnt been to the studio before and known who he was, I would have left right then because his video was so off-putting. He didnt have a piercer in at the time and offered to change my jewelry himself. As the OWNER of the studio, I trusted that he was offering something he was capable to doing. I was wrong. For 20 minutes I sat in pain and squirmed while this man dug around my nose trying to shove a ring into my piercing. When he made me flinch or saw me cringe, he made callous comments. The entire experience left me feeling disrespected and unsafe, and I cried after we left the shop because I was so shaken. The worst part was, he put in really ugly oversized jewelry so I had to get a new ring the next day. I switched it in myself this time, pain free and in 30 seconds. I dont know what his struggle was, but the person at Body Art was incompetent and rude to the point of making me cry. This is not the first negative experience Ive had at Body Art, though certainly the worst. I will not be returning.
Adrian did my nose piercing today and everything went amazing! She was so sweet and helpful with placement questions and any other information I wanted to know. Very clean organized shop!!
Adrienne was amazing...me and my friend came in as walk ins..and got 2 piercings a piece..she explained everything she was doing and made sure we were completely comfy before she started..she was completely upfront and honest about each piercing....very clean environment. I will be back soon for more.
I have been getting all of my work done here for almost 6 years now, and I honestly have no regrets. My tattoo artist Joe is honestly such a gentlemen and hes a great conversationalist while hes tattooing you, he is the only one I trust tattooing me and his line work is phenomenal. Alex does all of my piercings and he is such a sweetheart, he talks to you while hes piercing you and hes really funny and hes one of the many highlights of my experience there. Hell ask you questions about your desired piercing before doing it, and he always does such a good job. These 2 are really good at their job and Im glad they turned a passion into a career. Everytime I walk into this tattoo shop I also walk into my second home. The environment is beautiful and Im blessed to be close friends with these 2 outside of their job. I always recommend these 2 to my friends who want a piercing or tattoo.
These people are the most kind hearted people I’ve met in this industry, I recently had a industrial piercing done on Friday, and had my rook piercing switched out, the piercer is knowledgeable and very kind, he doesn’t rush his work, and wants to make sure you’re comfortable. It helps he has a sense of humor and knows how to communicate with people. Highly recommend!
Got my forward helix pierced by Adrienne!! She was amazing, made the experience super relaxed and very chill. Highly recommend this place for a piercing and make sure you ask for Adrienne because she was a rockstar!! :)
I have been going to Body Art for over 5 years now for all of my piercings and my tattoo. Asia did an amazing job on my tattoo. She was friendly, quick, and it turned out amazing. Tatum did an awesome job on my helix piercing. She was nice, welcoming, and did the piercing itself extremely fast. I have never had a bad experience at Body Art, and I look forward to going back!
My mom and I both went in to get our cartilage pierced and after talking with piercer Riley we each ended up getting three piercings. She was very knowledgeable and calmed my nerves instantaneously. Very quick service, we were in the room with her less than 10 minutes after stepping in the door. Riley answered all of my questions and had perfect placement, she helped us through any pain or nerves by breathing with us and making sure we were ready. Trusted her more than any other person who has every pierced me before and was only with her for maybe 40 minutes total. She told us exactly what she would do and what she used. Very clean place and equipment with very friendly people. Strongly recommend!
Their lines were beyond crisp, the work was fantastic and the workers were very nice and sociable. Would definitely recommend, it was just a bit pricy. I payed $130 for a collar bone tattoo, however I was so impressed with the friendliness of the employees and the amazing work they did I didnt mind the price. You get what you pay for, and that is a fantastic tattoo. I do not regret coming here and I will definitely return.
The manager of this establishment is so unprofessional. I myself have experienced him being late to my appointment, and then verbally abusing his employee while they are actively piercing. He is also creepy towards young women. The employees are very nice and good piercers but the manager is horrible. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I went for a Medusa with my friend who also got some piercings and it was a great experience! Tatum is the piercer, she was so friendly and made us feel welcomed. The staff were friendly and the place was so clean! They are almost 2 hours from me and I find it a well worthwhile trip!
Has definitely gotten better over the years. The piercer was much friendlier and thorough when getting my nipples done (2017) than the girl who did my industrial (that doesnt look right) in 2013. Great works by the artists, have always liked their personality. However, it feels they are rushing sometimes. Not as personal as some other shops.
Called to see if walk in piercings were welcomed this evening or if they were booked, was told yes. Drove almost 2 hours to get there to have the OWNER deny service because they were under 15 and “he’s the owner and follows the law”. THERE IS NO LAW WITH PARENTAL CONSENT! Lost returning customers! Bad business!
It has been 3 years since I got this tattoo- it was my first tattoo. I still love it and I still get compliments on it pretty frequently. I originally went in wanting a small black snowflake, but the artist recommended a slightly larger size to allow for more detail and said color would look good on my skin tone. Im glad I took his advice. He also worked with me on location, because originally he put the template too far out on my shoulder and I wanted it closer to my spine- relocated it with no problem . Cost $80, didnt feel there was any attitude from staff. They were very friendly, kind, and understanding with a newbie who wanted something a delicate.
They pierced my septum in the wrong place and then when I came back to get another ring put in they said “wow who did this they put it in the completely wrong place”. Also got my industrial done here and now I have two massive keloids but I think I’m probably partly to blame for that as well. I have quite a few cartilage piercings and never had another keloid. Some of the staff is pretty nice but I probably wouldnt go back.
My friend and I went in for walk in piercings, our piercer Adrienne was lovely!! Super sweet, fun and fast! Would recommend her as a piercer!
Adrienne (pretty sure that’s how you spell it lol) did a great job. I got my septum pierced, the process was quick and easy. She explained everything in detail before she did it, and it looks great!
When I went they were extremely nice and funny. The front desk staff was a little weird and frankly annoying but she meant well. While the guy who did the piercing was amazing. He was helpful when answering questions and help me calm down. He was incredibly nice and I would go there again for any body art or piercing needs.
Good art and friendly staff. Have gotten all but one piercing here and a couple tattoos - the one piercing I didnt get there is crooked...
I had a very pleasant experience at Body Art Tattoo. Came in to get my lobes re-pierced but come to find out they old piercings needed to be stretched! Ended up getting three helix piercings. The gentlemen that pierced my ears was friendly, informative and made me feel comfortable. I will be back for my conch piercing in 6 months!Another plus is that they are walk-in business so I can come in when I want the next piercing. Not sure about how quick you can get service for a tattoo.
I got my nose pierced and my first tattoo here. The place is SO CLEAN which was very important to me. My nose piercing was done by Matt and he was so good with me even though I was very nervous and it didnt hurt at all! It healed perfectly and when I got my tattoo he even asked if I was still cleaning my nose piercing because he remembered me. I called last minute for my tattoo because I wanted to get it done before I went to college and they found time for me. It is amazing and I love it so much! I dont think this place deserves all of the bad reviews they have on here!
Loved the people loved the piercing 10/10 🎀❤️❤️❤️
I love everyone who works in this building ! Always very welcoming I got a tattoo their about a month ago on my 18th birthday by aurora she is truly a talented artist yesterday I got my nostril redone the man that did it was so kind and kept me comfortable as I was very nervous ! Overall great work and great people definitely continuing to go there my friend also went today and got a memory piece for her bird that passed and aurora went ABOVE AND BEYOND great work !
If I could rate this studio 0 stars, I would. I had doubts on getting a piercing at Body Art, due to bad stories and reviews. Having my nose pierced in the previous 4 years, I had nothing to worry about so I decided to get it pierced again at Body Art. After walking in and being greeted nicely, I was asked to wait. After waiting around for 45 minutes, in a legit empty studio (like how long does it take to pierce a nose?), a nice man brought me into a room and was very friendly and talkative along with the piercer herself. The following day I woke up with a heavily infected piercing. Unknown of the reasoning, I had gone back to Body Art to get the painful piercing removed. After not being acknowledged by the piercer, a friendly girl took it out for me. I didnt receive any money back, or an offer for a free re-pierce after the infection heals, I was very disappointed. Still unknown for the reasoning behind the bad, instant, infection (perhaps unsanitary tools?), I had wished someone offered me at least my money back...
Had a tattoo scheduled with Mike Kirk. He showed me a stencil that was way too big and not what we agreed on. I don’t think he looked at the reference photos much at all. He gave me hell when i asked to make adjustments. We reached an agreement on how to change it, but I ended up backing out of it because it didn’t feel right. I lost my $100 deposit, but it was better that then sitting down to have some temperamental diva give me a tattoo that was only slightly similar to what I was looking for. In defense of this studio, I showed up late to the appointment due to work conflicts and called ahead to tell them. Also, I had a great experience prior to this with Lucas Salvatore, another artist who works there, so I can’t blame the whole place.
I went to this shop on a whim without a reservation to get some piercings done with my friends. All three of us were pierced by Ryan Mallory and he was phenomenal. He had an apprentice shadowing him and they were both incredibly polite, sanitary and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend Ryan and the shop.
The piercer Adrienne did a fantastic job with both my tongue piercing and my wife’s piercing she was very professional and very knowledgeable about the piercings and the aftercare we both 100% would recommend her to anyone who wants to get a piercing
I got my earlobe pierced by Ali (I think that was his name) and was very disappointed with the experience. I have already had other piercings done before at other locations and was always made to feel comfortable. At Body Art it felt very rushed and like I was just another person he was sticking a needle into. After piercing my ear once he said Oh I messed it up its in the wrong spot Which I assumed was a joke and then without saying anything pierced my ear again. After looking at the piercing this morning I noticed that it was still messed up and at an angle. Overall very disappointed with my experience and would recommend going to another place that does piercings.
Very sweet experience. I just needed a spiral to be put back into an already existing piercing in my ear. I also asked to be taught to reinsert it myself so that I dont have to return to a shop every time I need to take it out and then put it back in. The piercer saw me right away, figured out how to reinsert it, and then explained it to me. And after all that, didnt charge me, and sent me on my way.Looking forward to coming back to this place!
I went in and it was very unprofessional. All the workers were smoking cigarettes and I have asthma. Not good. The wait was very long. Over an hour. What was worse was that there were artists available and instead of working they were smoking. They also took all the white customers first, which seems a bit racially motivated. Everything was overpriced as well. Terrible experience, I should have listened to the reviews. Never going back.
The head piercer Adrienne did my smiley and my vertical labret and both turned out amazing shes very nice the vertical labret was perfect straight and exactly where i wanted it!
Went in after the jewelry from a nose-stud piercing done here 16 months ago (which was a good experience, great ppl) fell out and I couldnt reinsert it. It had been a few days. With Tonys help I chose a new piece to replace it but hadnt expected it to be so grown back. It was almost like a new piercing. Tony did the piercing. Im a 59 yr old woman, over sensitive to pain, and was NOT looking forward to going through it again...this time without a friend by my side. Tony was awesome. Patient, reassuring, always checking in with me to be sure I wanted to move ahead with it. When I assured him I did, he said, Well get through this together! And we did! No charge except for the jewelry which was reasonable. Thank you, Tony and Body Art Tattoo Studio. Highly recommended.
I recently went here with a friend who also wanted a piercing done. They received a septum piercing and I had both of my nipples pierced. Riley was very sweet and comforting, despite the stabbing. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat, and if in the area agian, I would stop by agian. The location was clean, and well laid out. Lovely staff and atmosphere.
Great! i went for piercings ($50 each for cartilage and nostrils) and it was very nice! clean place, everyone was very chilled and informative. piercer was very quick and knowledgeable! will be coming back next time i’m up here
Oh my lord!!! This shop is absolutely amazing! I just went to get my septum pierced, there was a little bit of a mix up with paperwork (Im a minor), but we got it all sorted out and everyone there was so kind. My piercer was Tatum and they made sure I was totally comfortable, the piercing came out absolutly beautiful. I definetly reccomend this shop. All around 10/10 I will be coming back for future piercings and body art. Thank you so much!
I came in as a walk in and adrienne took care of me!! she was so sweet and made the experience a 10/10!!! i had a sanitary and relatively painless experience :) thank you adrienne and body art studio!
I had my rook pierced at Body Art Tattoo this january. I was worried about the pain and the awkward position, and had only had my ears and belly button pierced before, never cartilage. The upstairs shop is clean, open and light, and the artists are clear about explaining what they are doing and they keep it fun and happy while still focusing really well on their work. About five months later, I returned to buy some jewelry and was pleased with the selection. Dont be deterred by the location, just because its not in the hub of all the other church street activity doesnt mean it cant do amazing work. Thanks so much!
Went in to get a piercing and new jewelry for another piercing I already have. I was told to sit and wait and an hour had gone by without being seen. Someone else came in wanting a piercing and was taken back after about 5-10 minutes. When I asked how much longer I had to wait, I had received no apology or explanation for being forgotten about and ended up leaving, again no one saying anything to me and not acknowledging I was leaving. (My parking meter for an hour was up anyways.) I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this shop. Very poor customer service.
I got a piercing with Adrian and she was amazing! The process was very smooth and quick and the earring looks amazing! Definitely going back!!
This was a rip off.Called earlier in the afternoon to set up and appt for 8pm that night. The person on the phone did not give me their name, which I later regret not getting. They let me know it was a $50 minimum for tattoos. It was only my second tattoo, and I don’t know much about the tattoo busy and how it operates. My girlfriend and I both got tattoos that night and when we showed up, we explained what we wanted to an employee there named “Magic”. He understood what we wanted quickly, and printed out a draft. The tattoos were two heart beats which were basically lines going up and down a total of maybe 10-12 inches of ink, with no filling in or extra attention. Unfortunately we did not discuss price before hand, which I obviously should have mentioned. Both tattoos combined only took 20 minutes including prep time and cleanup. After we were both done with our tattoos and were settling up, “Magic” mentioned the total was $200. With a minimum of $50 each that total was definitely way more than expecting.Idk if this is how they usually run business. I have heard great things about them. Their facility and cleanliness are definitely top notch. Not sure if they just took advantage of a novice, but I will never, and wouldn’t suggest anyone to go to a place where they over charge for simple work.
I have gotten 4 tattoos from body art, I gotta say all of the artist are amazing but aurora has to be my favorite due to the fact that she is so easy to talk to and is so friendly and I love her personality
Sibora did my ear piercing - lovely experience!
I called to get my daughter’s nose pierced for her 13 birthday. I was made to feel like a bad mom for making that choice and told they don’t pierce under 14. Apparently they didn’t want my business so I went else where. So I wanted to add that I called and talked to the owner and he was so helpful I was very impressed with his reaction and his concern was how he could make it right.
Adrienne did my piercings, she did a great job. Great energy, great environment, love her personality. I will be going back in the future!
I had my first tattoo done a couple of weeks ago. I have always wanted one but for some reason didnt feel brave enough. I wasnt sure where to go to have it, but decided on Body Art in Burlington. I am 61.I am so pleased that I did go there. The service was excellent, the people were fabulous. Matt did my tattoo and he is the one that I will see again for my next one (yes now I am going to have another one). He took his time drawing what I wanted, deciding where I wanted it and doing the tattoo. The price was reasonable. After two weeks, my tattoo is beautiful. My purple and green dragonfly. Thanks to all of the people at Body Art.Regina Pecor
My bf and I were looking for piercing studios in the Burlington area. He wanted to get his labret repierced (He used to have snake bites). With Covid going on we decided to call ahead to make an appt. The man who answered the phone was NOT professional AT ALL! He didnt seem to know what my bf was talking about. When we showed up my bf said I called about an hour ago. There was 3 staff there. One was busy drawing something and the other two didnt seem excited to be there. When my bf started talking about getting repierced the piercer hung in the background. When my bf was explaining how it was pierced about 5 years ago the piercer stood up and seemed very confused and saying why would that place pierce it like that. (Mind you this was in NH where my bf originally went).I keep saying the piercer cuz he NEVER introduced himself. After the piercer was like alright lets just get this done and over with. Basically threw the clipboard and a pen at my bf to fill out the consent form. He goes I need to go have a smoke before I deal with you.In the meantime of waiting for the piercer to finish his cigarette he was curious in knowing what size his gauges were. The person wasnt very helpful trying to figure that out either.Once we got into the piercing room the piercer just got complaining about how the previous placed pierced him and that he was going to go above the previous scar tissue. Instead of piercing straight back he did it up at an angle. It looked HORRIBLE.We should have read reviews before going there. It sounded like he has messed up on others too.
Just got my belly button pierced today! The piercer was very direct and knew what he was talking about, he was easy to contact before hand and was quick getting me in and out. This place was very sterile and at $42 there really is not beating this place .
I got my tongue pierced today by Adrienne. She was incredible. It couldn’t have been a better experience for me! Make sure you ask for her!
One of the best tattoo experiences Ive ever had. Incredibly pleased with the tat I got, Aurora was kind, professional, and very good at her job. Pricing was fair and the studio was clean.
I did a walk in nose piercing with Adrienne. she was super sweet and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and that the jewelry was placed correctly.
I got my septum pierced here a little while ago (a few months) by Ally, who was nice and did a good job. Everything was sanitary and I havent had any problems with it at all. However, the men at the front desk were off-putting, and simply rude. Neither of the two guys could be bothered to look up from Facebook longer than 30 seconds to help me. Im glad I didt have to sit through a tattoo with either of them. Maybe it was because Im a younger woman? Unclear, but I know that I will never be coming back to this shop. (Hunter @ VT Customs all the way)
The best place to go for piercings! The people really know what theyre doing! Super nice people and love them so much! Highly recommend!!!
I will be generous by giving these guys a 2 since their procedures may have changed. I went here looking to get some piercings done, when I asked to see their autoclave and sterilization procedures they said no. Every other place I have gone puts this foremost as a safety identifier and will go through their process. Hopefully they have changed this practice as I cannot see anyone who values their health wanting to commit to work which may or may not be sterile.
I have had several piercings (Nipples, nose, monroe & tragus) & 2 tattoos here over the years. The first time that I had my nipples pierced (NOT AT BODY ART), it was a nightmare! After the guy pierced the first one, he talked in my face & I realized that he was high. I take care of my piercings, but one of them I had to take out over a YEAR later, it still hadnt healed. I had that re-pierced at Body Art. Great experience! Then I ended up losing a baby, in the 2 1/2 week hospital stay they made me take out all of my piercings. That nipple rehealed, because it wasnt ready to be taken out. I just went 2 days ago, had a sexy artist named Shorty re-pierce my Monroe & nipple. She rocked!! She took a lot of time with me, and obviously is proud of her work. Thanks Body Art!
I had three tattoos here done, and 2...well 1 successful piercing. I had the tattoos done by Joe, I gave him permission to change the designs around and he made them much more detailed. I drew the designs myself so he also fixed some of my errors (alignment, symmetry ect.) He was very clear about aftercare instructions. While he was unable to use a small enough needle to make the lines as thin as I wanted, he did the linework evenly. He didnt pierce by septum evenly so we took it out and he did my Monroe instead..that was also not straight but possible to keep. In general everyone is nice and pretty helpful.
Adrienne was awesome!! She made me feel so comfortable and she walked me through the whole process! Overall amazing service and piercer!!
It was great! Got my nose pierced and the woman was very nice and seemed very experienced as well. She was patient and dealt well with all my crazy nerves about it and explained everything. I would definitely recommend this place.
Got my nostril and septum pierced by Adrienne, and had no issues whatsoever. Very professional and clean, would highly recommend!
Granted I was rushed into making a decision on regards to a smaller tattoo, something I admittedly havent spent time thinking about but from the second I walked into this place the staff immediately came off as condescending jerks. I asked for their input and was given nothing but sneering and excuses with not a single creative suggestion other than anything and everything I suggested would take hours of planning. On the mean time my girlfriend got her nose pierced and a tattoo of her own, totaling about 2 hours. The gentleman that told me it would take hours of planning sat at the front desk on his phone the entire time I waited for my girlfriends tattoo to be finished. Granted he doesnt know how much money I have spent on tattoos and how much I intend to spend on completing my grand master plan of tattoos but from a simple business perspective see he was more willing to prioritize his phone over revenue. I will be sure to leverage my entire network to spread the word about how horrible an experience I had and will never have again. Id rather not have the tattoo i want than deal with that unprofessional dick
I had and really nice experience and aurora was awesome. Her flash is super fun and she was open to new ideas and Im excited to go back!
Ive only had great experiences here ! Aurora specifically is such an angel, would definitely recommend her for your tattoo needs
They welcome walk ins here,I had a great experience I definitely will be coming back if I want anymore piercings. Also ask for Nobody you wont regret it.
They may appear to have a tough exterior but the staff of B.A.T. are incredibly hospitable when you treat them with the respect they deserve. This was my first tat so they made me feel comfortable and the experience was one to remember. I left with a huge grin on my face!
Asia is amazing! My son and I both adore her work! We will go back to her again and again!
Out of all my tattoos when I went to get my first tattoo on my arm of a simple Peace symbol the size of three finger width, the artist didnt take his time and now I have random white spots inbetween. Never peeled it, scratched it, and I put the ointment everyday just like the directions. Very disappointed. and plus I had to pay 80$ and when I went to get a bigger tattoo with more detail, it was only 60$.I really honestly think I could of done a better job....... Not hard to make a simple peace tattoo and actually fill it.
Overpriced and over rated. I got my cartilage done and the ball got stuck in my ear. Got a tiny forearm piece. Just some branches and it was 150$ 180 with tip. Tattoo artist didnt make conversation at all and Ive never had a tattoo raise and scab like it ever before. Definitely went deep with the needle. He also completely messed up the design. There were words in it. Handwriting from my mother. She wrote it on two sides of a piece of paper. The side I wanted I showed to him. He took an hour and a half to trace both the reference photo along with the lettering. When he put the stencil on my arm I asked for it to be a bit smalller and politely said that it was the wrong one for the word. He didnt listen and just went in. I would have had to pay him over 50$ for setting it up and drawing the design so I just sat there and got a tattoo that I dont like that much even though I tried to correct him,he didnt care. Going to get a cover up in the future. The artist who did this was named big. Theres plenty of shops in Burlington that do better work for cheaper.
Really happy with my conch piercing change (thanks Shamus!) and my sister is extremely please with her maple leaf tattoo! 🍁 thanks Tristan
I walked in, did my paperwork, waited not even 5 minutes got my tongue snake eyed pierced. Payed, an on my way I went. They were super quick, easy going.
Scheduled an appointment 2 days prior for almost $1,000 in work to get there and them not have scheduled enough time. Then be told its not worth the artists time to do one of them and we would need to wait 6 hours for another artist. We left with no tattoos. Wont be scheduling any anytime because its obviously not worth it.
I have been several times and gotten pierced. The lady who did my piercings was very professional and kind highly recommend them.
Outstanding customer service. Ryan was so easy to work with me for my tattoo, and made me feel very comfortable. He had a very light hand and did an outstanding job. I plan on going back for my next tattoo!
We were met in the lobby by a man named Muddy who convinced me to get 2 piercings. Muddy put me at ease and took me to the back room where he penetrated my body twice while my wife watched. Best 70 bucks I ever spent and the earings look pretty Bad @ss.
Staff is extremely rude and unpleasant. I went in to see how much my tattoo would cost and they said that for a small tattoo it would be almost 140...clearly they thought I didnt know my stuff, well jokes on them cause I did. So when i said Id be going elsewhere and seeing what others give for an estimate, the man at the front got defensive and rude. I ended up going up the street and getting it done for 100, and then a 10 dollar tip to the gentleman that did the tattoo. My tattoo came out amazing as well! I got 2 tattoos from body art when I was younger, and they look awful now! I know they used to do shady stuff there...like trading things for tattoos and piercings. Either way. I dont reccomend this place at all! Id give negative stars if I could...
An absolutely wonderful experience, my piercer Adrienne was super nice and helpful about aftercare for my septum piercing.
Walked in, no waiting. Pierced nose and lip and was out and done in 30 minutes. All staff was friendly and polite. Will be going back for tattoos in a couple months.
Got a blown out tattoo from them on my collarbone. Poor technique
They where very accommodating I walked right in and with in 5 mins I was laying on a table getting my nose done. Loved the guy who did mine....would recommend this to anyone looking for a tattoo or a piercing
Felt judged the whole time I was here. I didnt ask for anything racist or offensive and it wasnt some butterfly tramp stamp. Both times I visited I made sure to tip and I paid immediately in cash and never argued the price that was agreed on, but the entire time I felt super uncomfortable. Go here if you are looking for a decent tattoo, dont go here if you are a young college girl.
My friend Sophie and I went for spontaneous piercings at Body Art Tattoo Studio! So professional, fun, and all around incredible! Aly B. helped us, and he is AMAZING.
Great service and thoughtful artists. It was a little challenging finding information or planning the tattoo online, some streamlining might help customers and the staff too
My tattoo came out perfectly! And the staff were very professional and friendly!
Friendly staff. Tattoo artist are very professional. Ryan and Joe do excellent work. Funny listening to them while getting tattoo. Very nice experience. Would highly recommend to all........Gary
First tattoo ever while visiting the area. Lucas was great at answering my questions and putting me at ease. Great work and I love my tattoo! Will definitely get another one done here next time I visit!
Friend and I went here for our first tattoos. Place smelled like cigarettes and it was a little pricey. But the tattoos came out really well and they were so nice and supportive of us!
Body art was happy to take me at a moments notice, and the work was spectacular. The staff was personable and happy to give input. And the music in the shop was BOPPIN. Highly recommend
My Labret piercing was put in the wrong spot and apparently through a large vessel, it bled to the point where I needed to go to the ER. The doctor couldnt Cautaurize it and had to remove it, apparently the artist shouldve know better. I called to ask for a refund or to have it fixed, its now 4 days later and I havent heard back. There is bruising from inside my lip that runs to the outside, down my chin into my neck. And possible permanent damage inside my lip. Good job!
Adrienne made my nose piercing quick and painless! She is super sweet and knows what shes doing.
I’ve got multiple piercings here and all of them have been great! Kat and Adrienne both ate it up
I absolutely love Adrienne she was so sweet and nice and comfortable! She was absolutely great
Piercer was able to see me last minute to fix septum jewelry done by a different studio - they were super nice and accommodating!
Joe was amazing and was very attentive to Tony getting a 5 hour piece. He made the experience and time well with sitting there. The shop was clean and all staff was Amazing. Offering drinks and snacks to clients when they where doing a run for employees. Thank you @Josephbodyart
Adrienne is really great at doing piercings and super friendly!! Definitely recommend to come here, and the prices are reasonable!!
Daughters first piercing today in her nose ! Guy was awesome made the experience alot better than ones in the past from other places!
I went as a independent minor to get my ear re-done and it was going well until i was about to get them done and the owner ripped up my papers and was very VERY rude to me. She didnt even bother talking to me about my position being independent or anything of the sort! This is absurd
Ive gotten all my piercings done here. The shop is clean, tools used were clean as well. Now Im on the road to happy healing.
Just got a tattoo here by Asia.. very polite, light handed, quick, clean seems like a chill person.. overall good vibes 5 out ofSo normally when you get a fresh tattoo it feels like a sunburn well Asia has such light hands I can’t even tell I have a fresh tattoo definitely going back for more if they want the business!!
This is our second time seeing our buddy Nobody. Hes a great guy, knowledgeable, and personalbe. Hes been a blast to be our piercer. Please come here for all your needs!!
Great place! Very clean and friendly! I got my nostril and my belly button done and the piercer was very professional and knowlegable! Definetly will be coming back!
I got my nose done. Great job, great care instructions really explained the cleaning and the explain process and calming during the piecing was amazing i highly recommend.
Ive gotten two tattoos here and I love them.
I just called them to ask a few questions about piercings. The woman who answered was completely rude and clearly did not want to take the time to answer my questions. Based on her attitude alone I will not go to this place and will not reccomend them to anyone.
Have gotten multiple piercings from Adrienne and it’s been great every time!
I had an amazing experience here and highly recommend it. it’s very clean and nice, and the people are fantastic. unlike other places i’ve been to in the area, i felt that the artists were all very warm and welcoming. amazing experience all around! will definitely come back!! :)
I got a piercing done by Adrienne. It was done very well, no pain and I was super comfortable!
Everyone there was really rude so I didnt get a piercing. Just by the way the guy at the front counter answered the phone said enough h about their attitudes.
Ive always wanted my nose pierced and at 38 years old I finally did it and the guy who did it was awesome and so gentle and kind hearted.
Got two tats done in a single week by Adam...his work is absolutely awesome...Thank you Adam...great shop, nice atmosphere...but more importanly, they have some good artists there and Adam is really a great one...
Super easy procedure (we could come in right away) and great prices. Theya was really helpful and took any nervousness, absolutely loved it!
So many 1 star reviews all point to the owner, Shamus. Im not going on a rant. He was unprofessional for many reasons, so we decided to go somewhere else. You probably should too. Read all the negative reviews if you want more information.
The staff was horribly rude when I called ahead and asked if they could help me change my 2 month old nose piercing. When I got there the man that was supposed to help me was absolutely rude and snarky and it only resulted in him telling me he couldn’t help me.
Clean place and friendly staff! However we didn’t get any instructions for after care of our piercings which I found odd.
I’ve called multiple times to make an appointment, nobody has picked up the phone. I went to the shop yesterday, 2 1/2 hours before they closed, and the door was locked. It said on a piece of paper that I needed to make an appointment, since then I’ve called about five times, nobody has answered. Really frustrating.
Beautiful place. Extremely clean. Lines are clean, colors amaze me. I have lots of tattoos and the one I got at BAT is by far my favorite and always will be.
All 6 of my tats have been here and I wouldnt go anywhere else! Personable people, accommodating, and professional! Super clean!
Had my septum and left nostril done by Tatum, came out perfect and she is super nice

This place is a joke. I went in to get a couple tats on my neck and they wouldn’t do it because I don’t have enough visible tattoos at the time?! lol no one waste their time here...
Excellent service, quick and efficient. Business is clean and safe. Personnel are very nice and explain the service provided thoroughly. Very pleased!!

Super nice team! Tehya did a great job and was really friendly!
Very rude & poor customer service. Went in to ask a simple question & the lady at the registrar acted like she didn’t want to help & was very rude. Super disrespectful & will not be coming back here.
