Got my nipples done by the owner, Julie last week and she was amazing! I literally didn’t feel the first one, and the second one barely hurt - getting my nose pierced (by someone else) hurt more than it. She really knows what’s she’s doing!

Skilled and kind people here! My rook piercing unexpectedly fell out today after several years and they were happy to help see me and help me out immediately. Sanitary practices were good with wiping down and cleaning immediately after helping me.

Took my 8 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced for the first time and Julie was amazing. My daughter was initially nervous, but Julie was so patient and kind and professional. And my daughter was shocked at how little it hurt! The shop is cute and comfy, too. Highly recommended.

I got my nose pierced in February and Julie was amazing. I dont live in the area, but was on a trip to visit my mom and wanted to get my nose pierced. Fast forward to July, back in town to visit my mom again and decided to get my ring changed. Julie was amazing, it was quick and painless. The facility is very clean and everyone isvery friendly. I didn’t have a great experience here. The piercer was very friendly, and everything seemed very clean. However, my piercings were placed incorrectly. I came back a few months later due to swelling, and she switched the jewelry at no extra cost. I brought up the fact that they may have been placed wrong and was assured that everyone’s anatomy was different and that they were fine. After two separate piercers confirmed that they were placed incorrectly, I took them out. My friend is having the same issue after getting pierced here. She did, however, confirm placement with me before piercing and I said they were fine because I didn’t know any better. Again, the piercer was super friendly and I rarely leave bad reviews, but I would not get any of the more complicated piercings here.

Super great environment, friendly staff (real great if you’re feeling nervous!) and did a great job explaining the aftercare process for my piercing! Julie was amazing!

I had a vertical hood piercing done here about 10 years ago and it started to migrate so the piercer (I dont recall it being Julie) removed it and waited for it to heal and repierced it (at no additional cost to me). I still have it and had no issues with healing. She was as gentle as she could be during the process. Recently I had a triple helix piercing done out of state but I lost a few balls. I went in today and Julie hooked me up! She ended up replacing 7 pieces of jewelry in my ears and she was extremely gentle as well. Julie is very personable and great to talk to. Once her arm is healed and she can pierce again I am definitely going back for another piercing and this will be the only place I go from now on. Thanks so much!

I got a tattoo from Mary and had an excellent time! The tattoo was across my ribs and the entire process was absolutely lovely. Mary was super understanding of my initial issues deciding a font, and reassured me of her proficiency in small details which she definitely delivered on. She was extremely light handed and absolutely prioritized my privacy and comfort, which was incredible. Overall, the vibe in the shop was super accepting. I would totally recommend Mary as a tattoo artist, though all the art I saw in the shop was incredibly cool and creative. I also got pierced by Julie a few months prior, which went awesome as well. Vermont Custom is my go-to for tattoos and piercings!

My tragus got pierced at such an angle that I can not wear studs left tragus absolutely perfect. Right tragus sucks.

I brought my daughter in last night for her first tattoo. They had a cancellation and allowed me to get one too. Joe was really nice and very professional. He made the whole experience very special since we decided to get matching tattoos...She also got her tongue pierced while we were there and Julie was wonderful, very quick and gentle. Julie is awesome and even came to visit me at my work days after my piercing just because she’s so sweet! Super fast appointment and inexpensive ear piercings. Been there twice now for multiple piercings and can’t wait to go back. My brother also got three tattoos there and loves them!

Highly recommend this place for piercings ! Julie was phenomenal with my septum, my girlfriends nipple piercings and my best friends labret and nose piercing! She did them so smoothly and was very calm when we were super nervous. She told us that we can always call her if we have any questions and if we wanted to get any of our piercings changed she was more than happy to do that for us. She made sure we knew how long it will take for them to heel and how to clean them. I will be going back for any piercings I want in the future.

After a bad nose piercing experience somewhere else, VT Custom fixed me up on the spot and gave me the tools to help heal my piercing successfully! I’ve been pierced here in the past as well. The moral of the story is stick with the place that you know is good!

Fantastic shop with a great atmosphere! Each time I’ve gone has been a good experience. Most recently, I got a small tattoo done by Mary, and I’m absolutely obsessed with it. She helped me coming up with the design, and it came out exactly how I pictured it. It’s only been a few days but it’s already healing well and looks amazing. Love this shop, will definitely be getting more tattoos done here.

Wonderful experience! We went in for three people getting piercings totaling five actual piercings. They do walk ins for piercings so we figured we would have to wait at least an hour to be seen but we only waited 10 minutes which was wonderful! She had all three of us done and out the door in less then thirty minutes! Very clean and sterile atmosphere and equipment! I will definitely be returning here for any future piercings or tattoos!

Came in early for my appointment at Noon. Communication was amazing, I talked to my artist Justin via email and they handled precautions for covid-19 very professionally keeping under 10 people in the shop at all times. Everything was cleaned constantly tools and work space included. Friendly conversation all around. You could tell this group of people really enjoy their jobs and working with each other. Will be back for future tattoos seeing as my touch up and tattoo came out beautifully. Best shop in Burlington hands down.

Had the most amazing experience at Vermont Custom Tattoo this evening. It was very clean and everyone was so welcoming. We had the pleasure of working with Mary for my Son’s first tattoo and mine. She was amazing. Mary is very talented and the tattoos she did on us were above and beyond our expectations! Very talented and highly recommended her.

This place is the best! The staff were super friendly and nice. Justins tattoo looks so good and I cant wait for them to do mine. I would 100% percent recommend this place. They were also really LGBTQ+ friendly which was really nice.

Ive gotten 2 tattoos and 1 piercing here and I wont go anywhere else! the staff is amazing and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing and so clean! Im at a high risk of infection so Im always super nervous about both tattoos and piercings but I have never had a problem with the work done here. I went back to have my nose checked because I had a small reaction and they looked at it and talked me through everything. So great!!

Julie has done all of my body piercings - from nips to septum and plenty in between - over the last 15 or so years, starting when she was back at Body Art. Its always a comfort to be welcomed with a smile and the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere of the shop. Never had a single issue with any of my piercings healing properly and Julie is always my first recommendation to friends looking for a little body bling.

I have been here a few times, and wish I could give a better review since its a local business. The piercer didnt know the correct name of the piercing, and rudely made distinctions that were false between lip piercings. Not a big deal, people call things different names, but she insisted on using lip piercing to reference a centered labret, saying a labret was lower on the chin. Just false and a bit worrying. Then she offered to pierce with a hoop- generally agreed that this causes migrated piercings and extends the healing process. I was still feeling okay, but then she pierced me without sanitizing the area- no mouthwash. I have had oral piercings before and know this isnt normal. When I left, I looked at the piercing more and it was pierced horribly- at an angle, and digging into my gums. The level of gum irritation I got in the first 5 hours caused me to go to another more reputable local piercer, who told me to take it out. Its too bad- waste of $50, and now I have to wait a few months to re-pierce the area. Bottom line- Id get my lobes pierced here, but nothing else. (A few years ago I got my second lobes pierced here, which were uneven.)

The owner is amazing! He told my Daughter that she can earn a free piercing of her choice if she gets straight As (and possibly a few Bs) on her report card!Great Incentive For Students to Do Better Academically!

My daughter got her first tattoo here last month for her 17th birthday. Very cool vibe in the shop but thats where it ends for us. The staff was rude, the artist was shaking like a leaf and although the tattoo behind her ear came out decently, I would not recommend it. I sent a very explicit email months prior with three photos and they claimed they only received one but pulled them all up in front of me. The tattoo artist, Joe maybe, was unprepared. This is permanent people. Not impressed.

Got my septum pierced here and it wont heal, Ive been told it was pierced in the wrong spot. Disappointing and additionally the piercer also pierced my friends septum but hers was placed correctly and healed well. Just seems like there are some inconsistencies in her work but Im hoping to return over summer and get help with mine as the women was very nice and professional.

It was awesome! She did the piercings quick and as painless as possible. We were informed about every aspect of the tatto before getting it. She even told us what is best to take care of it and could sell it to you right there. I got my Daith piercings here and love them. Only one complaint... on ear is a little different angled than the other but that was cause by an awkward angle. Other than that they are amazing. Going there for my future piercings!!

My partner has gotten all of his piercings done here (tongue, dermal, and industrial), and they all have turned out great. I went in last week for a cartilage piercing and my piercer, Hunter, was amazing. Very friendly, and quick with the needle! I plan on coming back in the future.

It’s been years since I had gotten a piercing about 15years. Julie was absolutely amazing so understanding and very patient with me. She even checked my earring gage when I asked her if she could let me know what it was, also checked if my belly ring was still open.

I came in to get two small tattoos, one in my moms handwriting on my forearm and a small Gemini symbol behind my ear for my brother. I had Justin! He was kind and gentle and made me feel very comfortable with placing it and it was pretty much painless. Pain level 4/10 so fabulous job Justin!! I love my tattoos and would highly recommend this shop🙂

After five tattoos here and a couple of piercings here, I am finally writing a review!Everyone I have dealt with has been amazing. Super friendly, everything in the studio is clean, organised and everyone is welcoming and puts you right at ease.The real star of the show is Joe who has done all of my tattoos. He just gets it. No matter how big or how small the tattoo or how vague and weird your design he spends the time to get the artwork right and makes the process of getting the tattoo as... I wont go so far as painless, but as near as he can manage.I wont go anywhere else to get work done.Its not always a given that your tattoo artist cares just as much about your tattoo (now and what itll end up looking like in ten or twenty years) as you do, but every hour I spend with Joe proves that he really does. Cannot speak more highly of this place!

I have gone to Vermont custom for all my tattoos and piercings and would not go any place else. I recommend them to anyone looking to get something done. Everyone is so great at what they do. It does not matter if you are getting a huge detailed tattoo or a simple outline. Your experience is going to be great and so is your new body art.

My sister and I went in to get cartilage piercings I was a little hesitant at first, but Julie was able to answer all my questions I had. When it came down to the piercing, one deep breath and it was over, she was quick and talked me through what she was doing the whole time. Would definitely go back to her for more piercings!

Mary is incredibly talented. I wanted to cover a forearm tattoo and she drew a custom design for me. I just got finished with a two hour session with her. She was focused and creative, and she was sensitive to how I was doing. I highly recommend her and Vermont Custom Tattoo in general!

Got 2 nose piercings. One stud one hoop.Had to remove a nose stud because they put a regular length stud instead of a long posted piercing stud in. The ball started going into my nose.Didnt warn me that the hoop in my nose would take longer to heal because of the angle. Was infected and rejecting both within 2 days. Had to take one out completely. Kept the hoop in to see if it gets better...Will not be returning for piercings.

Absolutely great experience! Mary did 4 tattoos on 3 people. 2 “first tattoos” for one person. The pricing was very reasonable. Highly recommend this shop and I will definitely return for Mary to do more.

Im not even sure where to start with how positive of an experience my sister and I had with Mary. There was a miscommunication about scheduling and to make it work, Mary came in 2 hours before the shop techincally opened to give my sister and I our tattoos. Moreover, she is so kind, willing, and clearly loves and is very talented at what she does. I personally have 3 other rather large tattoos and I told Mary that I could have fallen asleep while she was tatting me. She is light handed, quick, and creates crisp beautiful work. My sister and I had been looking for the right artist for our tattoo for around a year, and when we found Mary, we knew it was right. Will absolutely be coming back to Mary for more work, and ten fold reccomend her for anyone looking to get scripture tattoos.

Very helpful and ready to answer any questions you may have! My wife got a tattoo (her first!) and was understandablely nervous. They are there to help anyone who may get a little jittery/woozy/light-headed.You can also really tell they are a tight-knit group that function well together. Its a great place to get a tattoo or piercing!

I had my first ever tattoo done at Vermont Custom Tattoos with Joe Demers. It was a wonderful experience. The shop was professional and clean. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful even from when I first called for a consult. Joe Demers is an amazing artist and I absolutely love my tattoo. He took time with me before to make sure I was comfortable with the whole process down to the aftercare of the tattoo. Then made sure I was completely happy with the design (he designed a tattoo of my mountain bike!!) and placement of the tattoo. If I get another tattoo I will definitely have him do it!

I set up an appointment in October for early December, which is already a long time but whatever. On the day of the appt, months later, they call to tell me the artist called in sick and I have to re-schedule, and the earliest date is in late January… so over 3 months after I call to make an appt and still I’m not even 100% sure that the person won’t cancel again. How is that even possible?

I got a set of piercings that are in a very sensitive place. Pretty sure i got them pierced by the owner, absolutely horrendous.. one of them isn’t even pierced in the right spot. i’ve cleaned it and cleaned it. it continues to give me issues constantly. don’t go here to get your nips pierced.

This business is so botched I don’t think anyone there knows what they are doing and after they screwed up the placement of the piercing the owner went on about how she doesn’t want to hear about what other people have to say. Very unprofessional and they are definitely not certified.
