Wellington Tattoo Co.

I went to Wellington a few weeks ago for a hand tattoo and I was fortunate enough to have Morgan as my artist. Although this was not my first tattoo, it is unequivocally my favorite! Despite Morgan’s lack of reputation as she is getting into the game, her patience, attention to detail, and professionalism supersedes everything! She offered an incredibly cheap rate ($50) to compensate for the lack of experience and between that and what I had just previously listed, I believe she is more than worth a shot !!

Morgan was kind, explained the process so well, and did nice work on our wedding ring tattoos. We felt relaxed the entire process, and she was very professional. The environment was clean and well maintained.

A friend and I had the opportunity to check out Wellington Tattoo Co. today and both were able to get tattooed by Chris! He was great to work with and I couldn’t be more obsessed with my tattoo. Chris made the entire experience amazing.

Such a great experience! This was a piece to remember my mom, and Chris did a great job bringing to life what I was looking for. Will definitely be back!

Alex was our tattoo artist as my daughter and I got memorial tattoos for my mother. He was very professional, very friendly and gave us just what we wanted. I especially loved the way he use my mother’s hand writing to write the word mom in mine, definitely check him out for someone so young he does amazing work

Alex was wonderful! Perfectly executed my ideas. The owner is very sweet as well. Glad I gave this place a try, will definitely be coming back (:

Wellington Tattoo has such a good ambiance and a great vibe. Chris did a wonderful job in doing my two tattoos and made sure I was comfortable through the whole process. Not only did he do a fast job but did amazing detail on my tattoos. 100% recommend and would go again.

Sam and Morgan are so amazing! I’ve been in there twice now and have gotten 2 tattoos from Morgan and 1 from Sam but had talked to him while I was in for my first one. They are both extremely talented and incredibly nice humans! The shop itself is such a chill vibe and they are so incredibly helpful and always up for a good joke or conversation! they have made my tattoo experience that much better! they make sure to go over all the things you would need to know about your tattoo, they are also extremely responsive. Sam and Morgan both told me to reach out if i had any questions comments or concerns regarding my tattoo and when i have they are super quick to respond! overall my experiences have been 10/10 and i will continue to refer people to them! all of the artists are extremely talented!

Alex is awesome! He’s respectful and has great talent as an artist. Gave him some freedom with the design and it was almost perfect, just tweaked some positioning of the words and cross. Anyways, came in for my first tattoo with my mom getting one too and he does great work. The lines are really consistent and the shading is really good, as little of it I got. Definitely recommend going here and getting a tattoo. The place is clean and his workstation is clean too.

I had Chris and he was absolutely fantastic! This was my first tattoo and he did a really great job at making me feel comfortable at every step. My tattoo involved my grandma’s handwriting and it looks identical to the picture i sent him. I will definitely be going to him for any future tattoos!

I highly recommend Chris at Wellington Tattoo Co! He was great at designing and fitting the tattoo to my body type. He took his time and did an amazing job making it unique with all of the shading and detail. He was a super chill guy who was super easy to talk to. Chris absolutely KILLED it! By far my favorite tattoo that I’ve gotten so far! I was a walk-in and he was able to get us in and out in a decent time. Almost no pain, the line work is gorgeous, and the piece is just perfect. I will 100% be back!

Chris was very responsive, professional and very open and honest with my ideas for the tattoo. I appreciated that he shared his opinions on it and took my basic ideas and turned it into something beautiful and cohesive. Absolutely amazing experience! Chris and Alex are both very talented and professional. Their fine line work is very detail oriented and looks amazing when finished, if not better than you thought it would! Chris got us in same day notice, took the time to basically redesign our whole thought process and redo as many times as we wanted until it was perfect. The studio is very clean and welcoming, they answered any questions or concerns, and provide plenty of aftercare instruction. Would definitely go back. Highly recommend, not a bad thing to say!

Alex did really good with my tattoo. Me and my sisters got matching tattoos and he did really well with all them. The process was a little scary since it was my first tattoo but he made really easy and was really nice to all of us. The place itself is also very welcoming and clean.

So I impulsively wanted a tattoo on Friday the 13th and they did not disappoint.Morgan helped me brainstorm and we came up with this amazing concept that she then so beautifully drew up for me on the spot, then Chris just killed it really doing her artwork justice. Everyone I met was so kind and creative, and its all good vibes there. 10/10 recommend.

I went to Alex for my first tattoo and it was a fantastic experience! Its exactly what I wanted. He spent time ensuring that it was properly sized, placed, etc. I got a matching tattoo with my best friend and the environment was inviting and clean, the pricing was great as well. Great experience, will be coming back! Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I shopped around the Cedar Rapids area for a while with no real luck until we came across Chris’s shop. We live in the area so had driven by it a couple times, but looked into places recommended to us first before looking into his shop. Chris was quick to respond after initially reaching out (which wasn’t the case with other places we had reached out to). We were booked for a session within a day of reaching out. The shop is in a little bit of a rough area, but when we arrived the shop itself had a cool vibe and was very clean. We had to wait a little bit for Chris to finish up the person he was working on before us, and then for him to finish up the final details of our tattoos. He not only created exactly what we were looking for, but made it even better than we ever pictured. He is so talented, and better yet up front and honest about what he thinks will work/be best.We will definitely be going back, and if you don’t go here for your tattoos you’re missing out.

Wellington was able to get us in after our original tattoo plans fell through. I could not be happier that things worked out this way. The line work is perfect. This was my very first tattoo and I had the absolute best experience I could ask for.I found Chris on Instagram, @koolhand_chris, and loved his work. Chris walked me through the whole process, worked with me on the design, and even sent a video on tattoo care after my appointment. His studio was clean and tidy and had aesthetic art on the walls. The tattoo experience itself was very comfortable. I have already recommended Chris to several people, I am so happy with my tattoo and tattoo experience.

Me and my roommate went here to get matching tattoos. We decided we wanted them, I messaged them on instagram and within two hours we were getting them done. They were so nice about us walking in and made the whole process go over so smoothly. Chris did both my roommates tattoo and my own and was fast, super easy to talk to, and our comfort was definitely a top priority! We’re both super happy with our tattoos and our overall experience, I cannot recommend them enough!

This review is looong overdue but Wellington Tattoo is SUCH a gem and I feel lucky to have them located here in CR! Ive been there twice now and have been tattooed by both Chris and Alex. Both experiences were wonderful and these men do spectacular work.The following left a deep impression on me:- It’s extremely easy to get in touch with the artists. I get anxious with scheduling and going to new places, but Chris was super approachable and easy to book with. I contacted him through their official Instagram (@wellingtontattooco). My friend also easily booked with Alex through Instagram for the second visit.- The space is extremely clean and really stylish. There are vibrant green plants everywhere and art covering the walls, which I found really cozy.- Chris was extremely thorough and answered any and all questions about the aftercare process- There’s an ATM for easy and convenient cash payment- Very fair pricing- Both artists did absolutely beautiful and clean lineworkThe first time I visited was in early April. This is when I got my darling Korok tattoo done by Chris, as well as a touch-up on a small tattoo that I had gotten on vacation a few months back. Chris was very easygoing and clearly cares about his work. He was so incredibly helpful when I had trouble choosing a location for the Korok. The location he helped me choose is perfect—I cannot imagine it looking any better. He also worked with me on developing the design and I could not be more in love with the result. As a woman with high anxiety levels, I’m grateful to have had such a comfortable and professional experience. I felt safe and listened to the entire time. Chris was very patient, respectful, and careful.My second visit was just a little over a week ago. My longtime friend and I got Legend of Zelda fairy tattoos (notice a theme? haha) and she also got some linework done by Alex. Recieved my first tattoo. I wanted to do a remembrance of my late brother, a message and his heartbeat. Alex spent time putting the tattoo design together and consulting to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. The tattoo turned out beautiful and perfect! I love the shop, clean comfortable setting. Chris was great! His line work is one of the best around. People think I have stencils not actual tats. I would highly recommend Chris and since he is fairly new to tattooing he is up front and honest on what he is capable of. Great prices and amazing work, Ill be back for more.

I’m having a cover up done with Sam Meyer, my cover up is of flames on my whole calf… Somehow, Sam saw that there was eyes in all the flames so we decided to input my wife’s face surrounded by flames because she’s so hot! Incredibly kind artist, took very good care to sterilize both his tools and working space. He was also very kind in working with me on my design choices (granted they were pretty simple). Havent stopped staring at this since I got it! Chris was great. He was able to get me in less than a week after messaging him, he really took the time to make sure I liked the size and placement before starting, and because of that I was able to leave with something I love. It was a lot faster and less painful than I was expecting, which is also a plus! I would absolutely recommend this place!

Chris hands were gentle, like the soft whisper of a November breeze across the still water of a reflecting pool.The professionalism was reminiscent of the willow, covering me in its protective embrace; shading my heart and mind from the uncouth roughness of the average rubes.The line work was exceptional. Like the master Alphonse Mucha, the beauty of the ink sang to my eyes until they were drunk as Bacchus from its beauty.I would never have believed my first time to be so wonderful, but I can attest to this shops splendor.

Syd is the ideal tattoo artist. Shes a very confident tattoo artist without the arrogance that some artists of the same caliber tend to have. Shes very flexible and willing to work with you on image size and placement as well as being kind enough to offer suggestions about future tattoos. Syd gave me exactly what I wanted, and the sky is the limit for her as far as talent goes. Additionally, Ive never felt more comfortable getting inked due to Syds focus, attention to detail, and overall personality. Shes one of a kind. If youre on the fence about getting tattooed, go see Syd at Welling Tattoo and just do it. I know Ill be returning!Also, beautiful shop!
