My time at Tattoo Union was amazing! Everyone there was so welcoming! Rachel, my artist, took the time to ensure exactly what I wanted for my piece and her attention to detail was spot-on. The atmosphere when you enter feels very welcoming as you’re greeted by great artwork from their stencils to the decor all around.I’ve been getting tattooed by Rachel since the start of her apprenticeship and have never been disappointed with her work. She specializes in anime tattoos which I am very fond of and have gotten 5 pieces from her already. She’s very personable which makes you forget you’re getting a tattoo in the first place so I recommend people check her out. I’ll be coming back for more!

Walked in for 2 fine line tattoos and got lucky to run into Eno. He took care of me, helped me think through placement and final design. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does and making sure you’re happy with the final outcome. Super patient with me in moving stencil around so I felt confident about the final look. Lettering came out looking crisp and very happy we got to work together.Would recommend the studio, everyone was super friendly from the consultation to hyping me up at the end. Check em out!

I had recently received a lip piercing out of the country and needed to have the bars lengthened for the healing process. I called ahead and came in as a walk-in.The process was quick and painless and I received excellent service/advice about the healing process. New go-to spot for piercing needs and jewelry changes.

Went in for a belly piercing yesterday. im not sure who pierced me but she was so sweet and extremely reassuring! the piercing process took about 3 minutes from start to finish, but the actual piercing was completed in a minute or less. the vibes in the shop are super cute too ! would definitely come here again if i decide to get another piercing!

Especially horifong, I got my tattoo done by the head artist, Fong, a few years ago, and I loved it! I’ve always been coming back for more tattoos from Fong. I definitely recommend this place as this is my favorite local tattoo shop in Chicago.

HANDS DOWN MY FAV SHOP IN CHICAGO! I was recommended by a good friend of mines to go to Helen for piercings. In the past two months, Ive gotten 3 piercings from them haha.During my first visit, Helen was very communicative and honest because I was looking for initially an industrial bar piercing - though I saw how it looked place on my ear. Helen then mentioned that a conch piercing may look great. Ive been obsessed since then. I also had got my left nostril pierced.Then of course, I was itching to get another piercing. I had the thought of a septum for the longest, I was definitely nervous of the pain. Helen was quick and smooth with the piercing. I was soooo happy (as always) with it.I will always recommend the shop to my friends and family! Who doesnt love supporting a local Chicago business! I know I do

I had Meko as my tattoo artist and I was super pleased with how the whole session went he was able to accommodate to my budget and made me feel comfortable coming to the shop. I will definitely be coming back to get another!

Got a piercing here. It went well at first but after paying we had to wait 30 minutes when we were the only ones there. That’s fine I’m okay with waiting but the piercer was just walking around, cleaning, and bossing around her coworkers. That was number 1. Number 2, was that while I was getting the piercing, she kept turning around while the needle was in my ear. I’ve gotten 4 piercings, my piercer never turned their back with their fingers gripping my ear, with the needle still sticking inside…. I mean I guess some piercers are different but even after it was done she took another 10 minutes, I was waiting for her to explain the aftercare but I couldn’t keep waiting on her, I get sometimes you’re busy but this girl was literally bossing around her coworkers, doing unnecessary tasks, while she had people waiting on her, no sense of urgency whatsoever. Everyone else seemed cool but I do notRecommend getting pierced at this locationSince I can’t respond separately I’ll do it here! (: I wanna start off by saying I’ve been working since I was 15, im now 20 years old, I am a front desk supervisor at a Hilton property in downtown, I promise you I know how teamwork is suppose work. Your response says a lot about the type of business owner you are, trying to say “im young and doesn’t understand teamwork” tells me you can’t handle criticism. Like I said I understand you were doing things but you were also just talking and looking out the window with your coworkers, the storm did not break a window, it did not turn off the electricity, it was just there, so you blaming the storm doesn’t really make any sense considering it did not effect anything from the inside. And also your coworkers did not acknowledge me but that wasn’t the problem,You were. I appreciate the response, I hope this opened your eyes a little bit!

Look no further. You won’t find better tattoo artists anywhere else in Chicago. Kevin’s talent is unbelievable and I can’t praise it enough. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Do be prepared for the price to match the quality. If you want the best, you have to invest in it.The atmosphere and others artists are always friendly and professional. It’s super clean and safe. I recommend it to everyone!!

I highly recommend this place! I’m a Chicago native but moved to Milwaukee a few years ago and I’m telling you the drive is worth it!Rachel my artist has an incredibly gentle hand and walked me through the execution of both my pieces I have posted. The shop itself is clean and the owners and other staff are very friendly as well! Compared to other shops I’ve had work done (mostly Chicago) at I would say the pricing is very fair- you pay for what you get and I’m happy with my pieces!

Theyll do the bare minimum to not dehumanize you. Barely speak English. They dont rebook after $100 deposit. The artist doesnt care about the details you want unless you ask for it. The conversationwas a very awkward exchange about the tattoo I wanted. It seems they dont like tattooing men.

Super happy with the tattoo I got from Tattoo Union. Rachel was the artist that did my tattoo. She helped me walk through ideas on the overall concept I wanted, and we ended up using this design. Props to her for being able to get all the small details in the tattoo I requested. Rachel was also very understanding and patient with me when I was uncertain about certain aspects of the tattoo. I never felt pressured to make a decision when I was unsure. I’ll 100% be back for my next tattoo.

I have been following Tattoo Union and Kevin on Instagram for several years, and have finally gone in today. Booking was easy. The music playlist during my appointment were bangers after bangers. It was fun to see Kevin enjoy himself to each song and the tattoo process. It made the appointment go smoothly and made the time pass quickly. I really appreciated the way Kevin looked at my reference picture and made it his own. His style made me more pleased and suited me better than I imagined. Kevin is quick and efficient, yet took great care in every detail. Nothing but respect for how he takes his craft seriously. I already can’t wait to figure out my next tattoo and return here. Just got an industrial piercing done here and such amazing service. Helen is the best! She was super kind and very professional. The only place I’m coming to get my piercings!

I have three of my tattoos and four piercings done here. Fong and Dan are amazing! They would patiently listen to my thoughts and design the most beautiful and unique tats that suite me the most. And the piercings done here never went through any problems - the lady is so professional and nice. They provided a nice after-care service after the tattoos and piercings were done. I can ask them any questions related. Love the place.

I found this shop online and fell in love with the art. I contacted the shop about a possible booking with my preferred artist. They got back with me and answered all of my questions. I flew from the coast of Mississippi to Chicago just for this tattoo of the N Seoul Tower, and I absolutely love it. Kevin was transparent about the process, was polite and conversational while doing my tattoo (and with everyone else he spoke with who came into the shop). Everyone was very caring and courteous. I would definitely recommend booking in advance (which will take a deposit) to make sure there is time and availability to get your tattoo. I am completely satisfied with my experience and will absolutely be returning.

Went here to get my first tattoo and can confidently say Alex was a great artist throughout the whole process. The whole shop has a good vibe to it, people there are as friendly as it gets. The work at this shop does get pricey but they’re upfront about it, you pay for peace of mind knowing your artist knows what they’re doing. Overall, the experience and work turned out great.

First time getting my ears pierced and I have to say Helen kept it real and professional through every step of the way. She definitely makes you feel very comfortable and answers every question you have while also giving you feedback, definitely recommend it also I had a great time she definitely cares about her clients and her job. Hori Fong did my tattoo and it was absolutely amazing. My nephews wanted me to get a lion and I’ve been putting it off for 2 years because I couldn’t find the right artist. When I saw Hori Fong’s artwork, I knew was the artist for me and I was right! I’m blown away by how it looks. The attention to detail and how it looks like you can look into the soul through the eyes is outstanding. 10/10 experience.

I came here to get a small tattoo 2 months ago and their artists and manager were very nice and it was really neat and clean. They all had respect and they were all kind. The price was reasonable and the quality was amazing. Master Fong did my tattoo. It looked great. People always ask me where I got my tattoo done. My sister also came here to get a piercing. It was her first time too. It came out perfectly. She loved it and it looks great now. The piercer was very respectful and she helped calm my sister down when she was nervous.

Tattoo Union is the only place Im going for tattoos from here on out. They were super professional, with a great vibe. The artists are top notch and are worth more than their prices, which are reasonable. Kevin was awesome! I brought him a photo of what I wanted on my body, and he made it even better. Came here a week ago to get my nipples pierced. Just wanted to say that Helen did a wonderful job and was very helpful and genuine in answering my questions. It’s been a week and both my nipple piercings been healing great, no infection or bleeding. The whole process was easier than I prepared for. Really happy about it. And considering dropping by another time to get a tattoo from them as well

I got a nose ring there and it kept coming out. The ring would not stay in. My piercing never healed as well. I also have a scar on top and inside my nose.

Diamond was great! She changed my piercing and it’s healing wonderfully.

Good artists but very bad at customer service and they rip off their costumers I paid 400 for a simple tattoo that shouldve been around 200 to 300 I even called and was told the minimum would be 100 and continued to go up if this isnt close that then what is? A simple dot? I didnt complain because I didnt want to try and lower the price and them tell me they wouldnt do it for the price I expected it to be if you plan to go here hope you have deep pockets and dont mind not even being wrapped they had a very lazy type of vibe from when I got there to when I left and acted like they didnt even care like I was a pain or something that or if it was whatever to them this is going on my body permanently it shouldnt be taken lightly and I was nervous the entire time not once did they make me feel comfortable I dont think Ill be going back even if they make great work overall experience was not what I was expecting good luck to those that do

I got my first tattoo at Tattoo Union from Danny about 3 weeks ago and it was a very pleasant experience. The shop was clean, appointment and face-mask were required for entry, I felt super safe and comfortable through-out. Danny is super patient and skilled, and kept up with the conversations to make the experience less stressful. The piece came out just as expected and I have only gotten compliments on it. I have also went in a few days ago for ear piercing with Helen; she is super fun to talk to and offers thoughtful advices. Based on my previous experiences with piercing, I could tell that Helen is experienced in what she does, which offers a great sense of comfort. Alex is a great artist on paper and on skin. Helen’s piercing process is super fast and painless.The price is a bit expensive, but you’re honestly paying for what you get; and what you get is a very personal and highest quality of work.Very happy my friends recommended me this place and I’ve built quite a relationship with this shop since I’ve been coming here every month for the past 5 months.

Helen did my nose piercing while I was visiting Chicago and idk how she did it but it didnt hurt at all and the placement looks soooo good! Im so happy with it. I cant wait to visit again so I can get a tattoo from this shop too!

I found Hori Fongs instagram a few years ago when I was searching for artists that I trusted to bring my ideas to life. After following his work for a few years, and seeing how exceptional he is at his craft (winning 1st place 3 different years for Best Japanese style in Chicago at the Tattoo Convention?? I was so impressed) I was so excited to share my ideas with him. I still cannot believe this beautiful, intricate, detailed piece of art is on me forever. I cannot thank Hori enough for his brilliance and patience. He is a true master at his craft.

Friday night I showed up for a walk-up appointment to get a tattoo. I just had my arm autographed by one of my musical heroes the night before and I wanted it inked while the marker was fresh. When I took a closer look at it the morning after, I was in awe of his artistry. Alex made it an excellent tattoo. While staying within the marker lines of the autograph, he brought style and personality to the signature. The host was friendly and accommodating. The whole experience was worth every penny. I had such a wonderful experience here! I booked a tattoo appointment with Dan at the Halsted location about a week in advance. The consultation was very thorough and he really took the time to understand the work I wanted done, a flower with detailed shading on my forearm. From making the appointment to the tattoo healed, the whole process was comfortable and satisfying.I was a little bit worried about how the tattoo is going to turn out since I didn’t know any sort of tattoo knowledge. I went in this past weekend with a friend to get some ear piercings on a whim. We met with Helen the piercer and right away she was super friendly and was able to explain the process very well! She even helped us pick out our jewelry and helped me design my piercings. I went from having 2 basic lobe piercings to getting 7 ear piercings in one sitting! Helen was awesome the entire time, was very clean and talked to me calmly throughout the entire time. For me they were all almost painless and she was very quick! This place is super professional and cool. I got a back tattoo here and appreciated that they blocked off the area for some privacy for me. Horifong did a great job on my tattoo from the design and to the placement! I get tons of compliments. My young adult daughter and I decided to get matching koi tattoos for very personal reasons. After a tremendous amount of research, we decided that Tattoo Union was the right shop for us and Horifong was our desired artist. Coordination for design and appointments was done through Helen and was a seamless easy process; we were lucky enough to get an opening with Horifong with only a month wait time - amazing since he is usually booked far in advance.Tattoo Union is on the western end of Chinatown with parking conveniently located right in front. The shop is immaculate with a hip urban vibe and very comfortable interior waiting area and separate private tattoo/piercing space. Horifong showed us the custom design he had drawn for us and we were blown away by his artistry. He took our mediocre ideas and made them into an incredible piece of art. The actual tattoo process was completely painless and all measures were taken to ensure that we were comfortable at all times.We truly could not be more pleased with our experience with Tattoo Union from start to finish. Helen and Horifong are consummate professionals and incredibly kind and humble people. If you want painless piercings or timeless tattoos this is the BEST tattoo parlor. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for about 4 years. Hori Fong and Helen are the most professional artist(Fong)/body piercer(Helen). Their work is always clean, detailed and calculated. The shop is decorated with their personalities along with countless awards for their work. Their shop is also SPOTLESS, they really make sure they clean it properly to sanitize their workspaces. They make all their costumers feel welcomed as a part of their family. Fongs style is unique & realistic, his eyes see dimensions unknown to the common eye. Helens piercings are always painless, efficient and CLEAN. These two have created the best tattoo shop in Chicago. Thank you guys for all your amazing work!

There’s nothing wrong with this place, and I don’t feel ripped off because they were very upfront… However: For what was done (only line work), and the few changes I had them make to the drawing I wanted, the price was not worth it. I have other work from other artists much more color, shading everything and spent a lot less. Line work is good but nothing mind blowing. If you’re going to charge 240 dollar an hour you’d better do more.

Got my first tattoo here. The staff and artists there are polite and welcoming. Overall the vibes you get from the shop is an amazing experience. Mr.Fong is the best in Chicago when it comes to Asian art and beyond. Very quick makes the most out of your time. Not once in that chair did I feel like my money was being wasted. He also charges at a more than reasonable price for his skill level. Cant wait to come back for the next session!

I’ve gotten 2 tattoos there the artist was nice and quick in tattooing. I did have to wait a little bit the tattoo looked really nice and I’ve gone back for touch ups as well that they offered for free. I got a septum piercing too! The lady was super nice and quick it only lasted like one minute! It’s a nice place to come and get tatttoos or piercings! Tattoos are a little pricey but it’s going on your body the quality is worth it!

Had an amazing experience at this shop! I had a terrible two days dealing with 9mag And they welcomed me and my art with open arms. They take walk ins first come first serve which is great. The woman in the front is amazing very attentive to what you want and clear about prices. TONY is a gem! Very friendly and will leave your work looking like a new piece on your body. His attention to detail and customer conversation is superb. The other artists are also very amazing. Their overall work will leave you speechless and begging for more. They have a comfy vibe. The head artist horifong of this store is super nice, will try his best to book your appointment as soon as possible. I had my tattoo done on my lower left arm, I wanted it to be as thin as possible cuz its a sentence and I like it that way, the artist did exactly what I wanted, IT IS ELEGANT. Great taste of the artist. He also provided me with great advice on the part where it would look good on my arm. Great experience.

Do not put down a deposit until you have discussed a price with the artist first. The shop is very cool and they have Covid protocols in place. The artists here are undoubtedly talented. My low review is more based on feeling like the artist was trying to take advantage of or overcharge me. I wanted two small simple pieces. I was shown the mock up and everything was basically copied and pasted from the reference photos shown, which is fine because I wanted something simple and specific. I mention that to make it clear that there was nothing really custom or original about the mock up I was shown, which again was fine. The two pieces could’ve both fit comfortably in the palm of my hand. The quote was for $900, $450 for each piece. I respect an artist’s work and won’t try to haggle someone on what they believe their art is worth, but that price for what I was asking for was extreme especially given the size and that there was no original input. I was kind of devastated because I really love and respect the work this shop does. They can’t help it that I can’t afford their time.Just be sure to get a quote before you put a deposit down so you don’t lose money. Luckily that was my case.

I’ve gotten all my tattoos done by Kevin and I’m a fan of his work! Very professional and you can tell he’s passionate about he’s work from the way he talks about the tattoo you’re about to get, whether it be suggestions on how to make it look better to changing a few things to fit your budget. Always a satisfying experience with Kevin and Tattoo Union!

The electricity went out at first when I came but everyone at the studio were so nice. All were trying to offer solutions for all the clients who went there. The store followed a strict COVID protocol, which made me feel really comfortable and safe coming here during pandemic. The electricity came back after a little shorter than an hour. Everybody went back into work. Again, everyone was offering solutions, rescheduling, and apologizing for this incident, although it was completely NOT the store’s problem. The WHOLE block went out of power. All my friends suggested me Tattoo Union when I said I’m moving to Chicago and trying to get another tattoo.

Fabulous artist! I had my tattoo done by Kevin and it was masterfully done. Great price too! I will be continuing with them to finish my full sleeve. My lady is going to them as well after seeing Kevin’s work.I have had a 1/2 sleeve done. Collaboration between Kevin and Danny. They go above and beyond for the clients. Fabulous artist work with you and do a beautiful job.

Great tattoos, but wildly overpriced and questionable business practices.The good: I really like my tattoo. It is the only thing that saved this from being a 1-star review.The bad: I was charged $880 for a tattoo that took less than an hour, and required no prep-work by the artist. Ive attached the final tattoo for reference.When scheduling my tattoo, I asked about the artists hourly rate and was told it will be flat by piece. I asked what the artists minimum was, and got no reply. Keep in mind I had already sent in my deposit. Their website states known for high quality, reasonably priced tattoos so I assumed the cost would be fair.On the day of the appointment, the artist was 5-10 minutes late.. not a huge deal. About ~45 minutes after my appointment time the artist brought over the stencil and told me the cost of $880. I was visibly shocked, and he made a comment about how its a complex tattoo even though it doesnt look like it. I WISH I had left at this point, but I already put down a $100 non-refundable deposit, taken a half-day at work, and traveled across the city to the shop. As one of the other employees was leaving she said to me its a fair price because its so complex. I had not talked to this person at all until then, and it was said in a very sales-y way.. I decided to go through with it, hoping that I was being naive and this was a reasonable price for my tattoo. After leaving I talked with a lot of people with experience around tattoos, and everyone was stunned when I told them the price.Long story short I WISH I could recommend this place, because I love their work. However, this whole situation left me feeling very taken advantage of and therefore I cannot recommend coming here for work.Note: I tried to privately message the artist on Instagram prior to posting this, but havent heard back so I thought I would share my experience.

I am not one to write up reviews but I felt the need to after thinking about it for a long time. Since it’s a tattoo that is permanently on my body I think about it quite a lot. I got my tattoo done in May and had made an appointment about two weeks in advance. My friend was in town from college visiting and we had a small window to get our tattoos done. We scheduled our appointment put down a deposit thinking everything would go great. When we came into the shop it was pretty clear that they had forgotten our appointments. At the time everyone they had available was already tattooing. My friend and I had two very simple designs to draw up mine was a flower and hers was a Texas longhorn outline. My tattoo was a little bit bigger may be 3 x 5“ but hers is only 2 x 4. After he spent about two hours drawing up our tattoos the clients they had in the chairs were still not finished being tattooed. ( I got to know those two clients who dropped 1500 last minute! We were pushed back for a more expensive tattoo…) With our appointments at seven I remember taking my birth control in the lobby at 9 o’clock… still no tatty. Finally he was finished drawing my friends price estimate was about $200 and mine was 400. I tried to tell the guy that I thought this was unreasonable and he didn’t want to listen. I said it was fine but was unable to tip since this was way above the price I was thinking. My tattoo took about two hours which is totally fine since it is a absolutely beautiful piece. But for a very simple outline the price was way overly high. I’ve had several tattoos done since then even better quality for way cheaper. While I adore my tattoo, it was not worth the obnoxious wait and the pain my bank account suffered. I could have gotten the same thing somewhere else and not have been forgotten! You are putting permanent art on people’s bodies. Be kind to them. They are giving you their time and money as well. Your service is not one sided. Have integrity with your appointments and give prices that match your quality of work. I will be sticking with any of the four shops within 10 miles of my home lol. Don’t make the trip and spend the bucks here. I PROMISE you not worth it! I had no bit of fun here. My pretty tattoo has been muddled by the awful experience. Appreciate your customers or you’ll end up with none.

Tattoo Union definitely does not get the credit it deserves! Ive only had one tattoo artist so I was researching around the Chicago area since I was looking more for an Asian style tattoo artist.Dont be deterred that tattoo Union doesnt have 400 reviewers! Focus on the artwork! Immediately looking at Hori Fongs artwork, I really liked his style and thought he was the perfect artist for my tattoo. I reached out and Helen (piercer) was amazing at communicating with me.Walking into the studio, its very noticeable that it is very clean! Everyone was very friendly, Hori Fong showed me the sketch he made and I loved it. Helen came and greeted me and was very friendly. Both made me feel very comfortable! COVID restrictions were followed perfectly.Throughout my session, I was asked whether I was doing ok. I cannot emphasize enough how professional Tattoo Union is.I need to go back for a second session but from what I have so far it is EXACTLY how I wanted it to be.We ended up finishing late, and H. Fong let me out and made sure I got into the car safely before going back into the shop! Tattoo Union definitely cares about their artwork and cares about their clients! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I’ve had handfuls of piercings before but Helen was the most approachable and accommodating piercer I’ve ever worked with! She was openly to answering the countless questions my friend and I had. Helen did my cartilage and tragus, she literally pierced me so fast I didn’t even bleed! She said I can even come back for her to change out my jewelry for a small fee (fine by me)! 10/10 Helen is the best!

I got a tattoo at the shop from Kevin. He was very professional and kind. I loved the design he came up with. The session went by really smoothly for me and I am very happy with the final result. Overall I had a great experience.

Would not recommend going with this shop for a tattoo. The tattoo artist Kevin kept us waiting for a few hours when we made a reservation. Without getting started on the tattoo, he decided to leave the shop instead. He has no sense of time committment to his clients. Also, he is very overpriced. Ive gotten multiple tattoos from all over the country and has never been quoted $800 for a very simple word tattoo. His response is that thin tattoos are supposed to cost more. No matter how irrespoonsible and unethical they are, the boss lady Helen will always play victim and be rude&defensive. Dont let them gaslight you! She raises her voice when you ask a simple question. Without quoting you first, theyll require you to pay a $100 deposit to reserve the booking. If you are not comfortable with the pricing, you wont get your deposit back if you no longer decide to get a tattoo by them. Her review response will always be full of lies, that the customer is always wrong.

Had the pleasure of getting a Tattoo from Alex. It was a fairly complex piece and I could not be more thrilled with the result. Alex was very deliberate about getting all the details right. The staff and other patrons that came through were very friendly as well. Absolutely recommend!

Kevin was amazing !!! My wait was long but well worth it. Kevin was patient, professional, and paid attention to every detail. Be sure to arrive prior to find ample parking as well. Choose this place for my first tattoo. It was professional and very pleased with how it came out thanks to Kevin. Everything was very clean and had a very nice atmosphere while getting the tattoo, and I will be coming again for my future tattoos.

DO NOT GET PIERCED HEREI got a navel piercing here and the piercing was done completely wrong because it was pierced too deep. I had to go to the ER to get the piercing removed, the pain was unbearable to the point where I was nauseous and couldnt sleep. I tried to explain this to them over the phone as I can not go in person, my friends also went to explain the situation while I was in the hospital and they refused to issue me a refund. They also told my friends the piercing looked bad because my belly was too big, body shaming me. This has been a nightmare situation and I dont wish this upon anyone, nothing has been done to fix what was done to me and I live very far and am in an extreme amount of pain to go in person. The photos I attached show how much skin was pierced.

I got my tattoo from Tony, It was my first tattoo so i was a nervous wreck wen i came it, Tony made me feel very comfortable.my tattoo was all lines, colors, and shading, He did an outstanding job, his line work and color shading is incredible. I could not be any more satisfied with his work. I highly recommend getting work done by Tony. All I have to say is Horifong is amazing! 💖He was very professional and very clean. I have ocd and im slightly germaphobic and i was totally fine in there . He also made sure I was extremely comfortable as comfortable as he could as He did a butterfly on my neck which is a hard spot but he managed it like the pro he is. Had an amazing experience with Tattoo Union. Hori is truly a master at his craft and I was lucky to get on his calendar. Loved the creative process and had absolute trust in Hori’s opinion. First tattoo and spent a long time thinking through what I wanted. Hori loved the idea, created a custom design, took and built off my input and personalized in a unique way that means a lot to me. Had almost no scabbing which is a sign of the artists skill and light touch. The staff are great, professional and polite. Facility is super clean. They work late so its best to arrange a time to meet in person. Appreciated their safe practices around COVID. Already thinking about the next one.

Came into the shop with a vague idea for a hip to shoulder piece but knew I wanted roses to symbolize the newfound romantic strength my marriage has blossomed with after a tragic loss my husband and I endured a few months ago.. Got my first tattoo with Danny. I was a little nervous, but he was knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. My first was a small one so it was quick and clean. I could see why people get addicted 😅 now I want more and would definitely go back 🙃

Never go to this tattoo shop ever. I went here yesterday for the $30 special Friday the 13th tattoos. I walked in and I waited about an hour and a half for my tattoo I waited patiently I was polite I did not rush any of the artist. I started my tattoo and I could tell that my tattoo artist was nervous and was not comfortable with doing my tattoo. Not only that he had extreme body odor. On a purely aesthetic bases The tattoo itself is warped and horrible. All the petals are misshapen, some of them end in a point and some of them are rounded, the top pedal is so small it doesnt match the bottom pedal. The shading is too dark. When I first saw the tattoo I was completely upset and told the tattoo artist that there needed to be a cover-up. Some master artists started my cover-up and then I looked at it again and I was completely dissatisfied. I told him that I wanted to go home and that I was not happy with the tattoo. He kept insisting that I needed to go sit down so he could finish it but I said I was no longer comfortable for him to touch my skin. He was smirking and laughing the whole time and I asked him if he thought it was funny that I have a horrible tattoo on my body for the rest of my life. He thenBecame extremely aggressive and started yelling at me and I just said I was going to go home and I no longer wanted to be in this tattoo shop. I called back today and spoke to Helen the manager. Ive never received such a rude conversation in my life. As a hairstylist I understand that people make mistakes but when a customer is dissatisfied and is looking for a refund and you refuse them and then try to blame them and say that since it was a special they should be satisfied with what they got is completely absurd. She herself said that Alex the artist who tattooed me was not comfortable and only had two years of experience and was in an apprenticeship. So if he was uncomfortable why did he do my tattoo. She kept cutting me off and was extremely rude and I told her that she was being crazy so then she started yelling at me asking me where I work and then I have a hear someone in the background telling them to tell them where my addresses and they were threatening me on the phone. Save your money and never ever go to this place ever worst tattoo experience of my life.

Hori fong and his team are absolutely amazing. Award winning yet so humble and collaborative. I truly value and respect his judgement. Got outline done for second sleeve and Iove it. He is booked out months in advance but team is amazing and can squeeze you in.

Had several tattoos done here by Hori Fong. I was nervous doing two half sleeves on my arm but after seeing the final results, I have no regrets. Great detail to work on tattoos by fong. Fong knows his craft and did an amazing job. Would highly recommend. Great quality and they worked with my crazy work schedule.

I showed up to my appointment and they were not available for a couple hours for the time they promised - I ended up having to leave because I didnt have all day to sit around so I asked for my deposit back since they never delivered the service at the promised time. Anyways, I dont really care about the deposit, it was just 100, and I stopped fighting for it because I know how much they needed it if they will be charging 700 for a small tattoo. Maybe c0vid did damage to their business & they really need the money. Like I said, you can keep the 100.I dont really want to comment on the customer service, I am sure you can read and see how they deal with customers who gives them trouble by deflecting & gaslighting in their reviews.I went somewhere else and saved $500 for the exact quality I was looking for, with perfect lines, and they were able to work on me at the time I was scheduled.

This is one of the best times I’ve spent at a tattoo parlor. All around the experience was great, with very friendly folks, but the art was incredible. My girlfriend and I went in with little idea about the parlor, and we came out extremely happy with our tattoos! I would definitely recommend this place for anybody looking for great ink.

Went in for a touch up there TONY said he would do it. I heard he was good at line work so I thought why not?. The first 2 sessions went smoothly however seeing him being openly rude to some customers made getting tattooed by him that much more awkward. The last 2 sessions I had with him he tells me to hang with him outside during a break and tells me to hook him up with a tip early and this is the same guy who gave me the whole you tip your waitress why wouldnt you tip your artist analogy well normally waitresses dont ask for a tip before they provide the service. This really ticked me off since toward the end of the last session I noticed the pain was becoming harder to handle and I turned around and this man was falling asleep!! while tattooing! I have talked to other artists and it turns out he tattooed me too deep and it took about a year for my skin to heal in that area.

Had one done by some white guy name tony, regret it ever since. From all my tattoos the pain was intolerable. Half way through the tattoo he stop and went To go pierced some girls nipple. Came back 20 min later like nothing happened. After that he spoked to me one on one demanding a tip because he said the shop got too big of a cut. Oh and this was only 2/3 of the way in. Of course I was going to tip the guy. He still needed to finish!!!! If I didn’t I was jeopardizing the Quality of my tattoo. If I didn’t tip the made right there and then he could have easily gotten upset and ruin the rest of the tattoo. Never been back there since.

Came back after two years to get a nose piercing from Helen. She was great and clear in her explanation for her process and aftercare. Overall another great experience!

I contacted the shop to schedule an appointment when a woman with a heavy accent told me they required a deposit for an appointment. She suggested I make a payment for an appointment & immediately began requesting my credit card number in less than 3 minutes into the conversation or sugguested I get a Zell account when Ive never had anything done there before. When I told her I didnt feel comfortable doing that she suggested I go to the shop to schedule & could pay for my deposit at that point. I did not have a problem with that as long as I could have my work done that same day, she began to tell me to calm down when I was not even getting upset, I was simply just saying it did not seem professional for me to take an Uber there to make an payment for something I could not get done that same day, & and would prefer at that point to pay cash, she was raising her voice saying I was getting upset when I had no tone, I than hung up on her because I was obviously dealing with someone unstable that was not understanding, respectful to my financial privacy or interested in having new customers

I know tattoo union sinve I was 18 years old. My 4 small tattoos and 2 half sleeves has been done in tattoo union by my brother Fong. Every employee are very friendly and treat me like a family member. If you want to get tattoos，this place is definitely a place that worth to visit.

I’ve been going to Fong for 7 years and he’s done parts of my chest, my back and both arms. I give him an idea of what I want and he comes up with a design and always does a great job. He gets better every time I go and has one of the best shops I’ve ever been too.

My bestie and I stopped here to get a nose piercing. Small really nice place the atmoshere was great. Tony did our piercing he was quick, did not hurt at all! My bestie and I left happy and satisfied. We will be returning again!

I did my ear piercing as well as my tattoo in the store. It was the best place ever! The ear piercing process was really fast, the healing didnt take as long as my other piercing and it looked perfect.I just did my tattoo here today in the store, and I cant express how much I love it by words. I made my appointment with the Artist Horifong. I did wait for some time, but I think that just showed how popular he is. The tattoo turned out perfectly, it looks even better in real life than the picture. I also felt that people here really care about their customers, not only they met all of my expectations (even exceeded my expectation), but they also answer all of my questions patiently and gave me a lot of tips on how to take care of the tattoo. Definitely gonna come back for me next one :)

They scammed me out my deposit. Called and text nobody answer or responded been waiting up there pass my appointment time. After I told them I’m reporting them they want to decide to text me and call back 30 minutes later, like my appointment time has passed, I got off work early too for this appointment, there wasn’t anyone there at 1p or 1:30…and didn’t give me my refund. I had roman numeral done here but the tattoo artist messed it up! I dont really know roman numerals so I was about to start looking them up online but the person told me they knew roman numerals. So I gave them my trust. Once I got home and double checked turned out to be wrong! This person tattooed IIX instead of IX for 9. I gotta get this tattoo covered up one day! It also looks very sloppy and not shaded well! They were my first tattoos and my experienced sucked! Never going back there again! Sorry tattoo union!

Have had work done by both Fong and Tony. Tonys strength is that old school style of tattooing. He can handle everything mind you but the stuff he excels at is getting that crisp old school style. Fong is a master at asian style tattoos and the level of detail is insane. Both are highly recommended.

I got my first ever tattoos at this place couple days ago, i was very excited and waited for a couple weeks just to get in , i always try to support an Asian community whenever i can , being myself from Central Asia, anyway it was my personal design, but the tattoo artist was supposed to perfect it and maybe add some details to make it artsy before my session, the day of my appointment my tattoo artist didn’t even know that i was scheduled that day and completely forgot about my request, i am that type of person that never complains, working in a service industry i understand the struggle, but i felt like he really wanted to finish me off quickly just to get in to his another client, my design was really simple (little one on my wrist and colored small/medium size on my neck) , i got way overcharged first of all, before my session i got the estimated price around couple hundreds on consultation (i was ready to spend around 3 hundreds as long as i loved the work and i did my research before and after the job) i spend 440 on this, and again i said nothing even though i should have, but it honestly feels like a ripp off, i do not hate it, but i was expecting way warmer attitude and maybe a little more consideration than i received...

Incredible experience. Very professional and super kind. They even waited with us outside the door to ensure we got into our Uber safely as we were two young girls late at night. Fantastic establishment. Highly recommend!

Great service! Tony is a really good artist. Personable, professional and friendly. Did exactly what I asked. Very satisfied with the out come. I would recommend this shop.People need to learn how to tip artists. Thats how they make their money. Dont be cheap!

I changed my review from 1 star to 5 only because of what happened last night and how Kevin apologize to Englewood Barbie and her friends. And also for helping her feed the friends. I really hope this isn’t a one time thing and whenever I visit Chicago I’ll stop by to get a tattoo. ❤️🤞🏽

I got 4 piercings, 2 on each ear, for $170.Piercings run 30-50 depending on the piece you get.And I got tattoo the next dayFriendly people, definitely reccomended the piecings
