Black Opal Piercing

I got my nose pierced about 6-7 months ago and i recently came into black opal to get a hoop. when i went in, joe (i think) did not tell me there was an extra $10 for the instillation for my hoop. but anyways, when he took my stud out, he dropped the jewel on the floor and couldn’t find it so he gave me a new jewel. i didn’t like the hoop so i took it out and wanted to put the stud back in. i noticed that the jewel didn’t click onto the stud. when joe dropped the jewel, he gave me the wrong gauge. i went to black opal the day before i left for my vacation and didn’t notice that my jewel wasn’t the right gauge until the morning when i was leaving for vacation. so currently i’m on a 4 day vacation with a jewel that is not the right gauge and constantly falling out. i’m only keeping it in because i don’t want the hole to close.

I got my daith pierced for migraine relief on February 3rd 2024. I did not get any relief for my migraines and had constant pain, swelling, bleeding and piercing bumps. On June 18th 2024, I had it removed at another piercing shop.I was informed that the placement was incorrect, it did not hit the pressure point for migraine relief. The jewelry was warped, which affected the healing process. I have a metal allergy and was still given a metal I was allergic to.I was told it looked like it was done by a an amateur and I should have been given medical grade jewelry so I did not have an allergic reaction.I would not recommend Black Opal.

I got my nostril pierced here over the weekend, and I’ll definitely be back for any future piercings! The shop was very clean, they have a great selection of jewelry, and the staff was very friendly. Joe did my piercing and he explained everything thoroughly as he was doing it. It’s super easy to make appointments on their website as well. I spent more than I’ve ever spent on any other piercing, but considering the quality of jewelry and the experience overall, it’s worth it. I’ll also mention that the shop is upstairs. I didn’t see that noted anywhere, so I think it’s worth mentioning since it could be important to some.

Every time Ive been in here, Ive had nothing but great service. Super friendly and helpful. Very clean location.

So I went in to get a second lobe peirceings today and joe(?) Did them and he was absolutely amazing. He talked me through it the entire time , always asked if I needed a break or anything, he even gave me a squishy toy to squeeze if I wanted and all over it was the best definitely going to be the only place I go to from now on for piercings

Emily was amazing. She was patient and kind and made me feel completely comfortable the entire way. She made me feel like I had a choice to back out if I got too nervous and I really felt like she genuinely cared for my well being. After care directions were easy to follow. It took me a minute to realize the shop is upstairs. Entrance by the tattoo parlor. Will def be back.

My 8 year old wanted her ears pierced. She had them pierced before by Claire’s in the mall but it ended up getting infected so I just took them out and it closed up. I googled Ear piercing near me and Black Opal popped up. Not only was their website user friendly the owner and the other guy that was working were super friendly. The lady talked my daughter thru everything she was about to do as she was doing it and She made sure my daughter was comfortable and okay. Both employees we very professional and their establishment is very clean and sterile. It made me not mind spending my $$$$ 😅. I would deff keep them in mind for next time and I would deff recommend them to friends and family. I never leave reviews but the whole experience was so great I had to leave one.

Loved the professionalism! I had an amazing first experience with Sabrina, they helped changed my nostril piercings and explain further in detail where my irritation was coming from. They also explained and help teach another piercer and was very patient with their questions and I loved every second of it. They have a plethora of jewelry choices and I will definitely be going back!!

Got my nose piercing here on Saturday! So glad I came to Black Opal. Sabrina and Joe were so professional and kind. My mother-in-law attended the appointment with me and we were both so impressed by their standard of cleanliness. I was super nervous and they both were so nice and did a great job making me feel calm and comfortable. they communicated well so I knew exactly what they were doing and what was going on. I highly recommend this place to anyone getting a piercing!

Very professional service. Booked appointment online and received text reminders/confirmation. Got my eyebrow pierced there last week, Sabrina was very informative about how to clean it, and what I could expect with the healing process. The jewelry was sterilized in a machine. It was little pricey, around $140 but the crystals are Swarovski. I wanted a hoop but Sabrina said she wouldnt recommend a hoop until its fully healed. I never felt rushed. They marked the placement with a marker and let me approve it before they pierced. Also purchased a saline spray for $10, makes cleaning very easy and quick. Have to go back in 6 weeks to get the post shortened. Great service, would use again. (See photo: I have a bit of a bruise but thats through no fault of the piercer.)

Very friendly and professional and clean!! My six year old got her ear lobes pierced. They explained everything they were going to do so my daughter understood. They took their time and made sure she was comfortable the whole time. She had a great experience. Planning on taking my older kids to them as well.

Best experience with a piercer Ive ever had! I went and got my eyebrow done on a whim one day. Im so glad I found this place. They only use titanium rings, which is fantastic. I have a severe nickel allergy and even the stainless steel rings that claim to be nickel free will set it off. (Spoiler alert: stainless steel is not actually nickel free, and do not let someone tell you otherwise.) They also sterilized everything in front of me, and then showed me the ring was sterile.They have been great with teaching aftercare, and downsizing was a breeze. Im very glad that we have a legit piercing shop thats local!

Sabrina pierced my bridge a few weeks ago, and it was such pleasant experience! She was very knowledgeable about placement. She worked with my anatomy and found a placement where it would heal well but also not get in the way of my glasses. The procedure was quick and relatively painless. I would recommend anyone around the Denton area to give her a visit!!!

Made my appointment for a conch piercing, not really knowing much more than that I liked the look of it.When I got to the shop, I was greeted by friendly faces and understanding when I mispronounced the type of piercing I was getting.The piercing went extremely easy and quick, healing time was damned near non-existent and I was asked to come back for a resizing 6 months later.Im actually booking an appointment for my second holes and an upper lobe piercing as we speak. Ill never go anywhere else!

Went in for a 3rd hole in both lobes. Have had them done before from a place that used a piercing gun and they never healed right. Sabrina (?) pierced both ears with minimal pain and zero swelling. I will be going back for a triple helix after my lobes heal. Very clean, professional and informative shop. Highly recommend

LOVE Black Opal piercing. I was nervous, more so on the pain scale. But, Sabrina made me feel so calm and safe while being pierced. Joey, he explained what material the jewelry was made out of. Never going to a different piercing shop. Ever. Black opal is definitely one of the best.

I am so excited that a reputable piercing studio has opened in Downtown Denton. Today I visited Black Opal to have a double forward helix and she was very professional, kind and explained everything. The whole experience was great.

Made an appt few weeks ago for today (27th). Door was locked. No answer on phone with multiple tries.

Nice place and nice people, only problem is the location but thats not in their control. Would recommend if you want a well done piercing for a decent price.
