Yankee Doodle Dandy Tattoo

I am honestly beyond happy with how this turned out! I had a VERY rough draft for this memorial piece and they made it happen. Needless to say for all big pieces I’ll be making the drive from fort dodge to dsm to see them from now on!

I had the pleasure to get a tattoo done today here. My two sisters, my mom and I called earlier this morning and we’re able to get right in. We wanted to all get a matching tattoo to remember my dad who recently passed. Our artist Devin was super professional, he took our idea and drew up exactly what we wanted. I would recommend Devin to anyone. His line work was amazing and he was very friendly, knowledgeable and a top notch artist. I will absolutely be back! Thank you Devin!

Awesome tattoo shop with some amazing artists. I worked with Veronica because of her outstanding line work. It was very easy to schedule appointments. She listened to what I wanted, had a delicate touch, and Im very happy with my experience!When I was ready to schedule a touch up, I sent her an email and was in and out quickly. Am from out of town!! And Everyone here was amazing! My tattoo artist STEVE was Top Notch! Dan the owner held my hand the entire time! Am a Breast Cancer Warrior...Stage 3 TNBC and traveling Nurse from Houston, TX. I finally got my pink ribbon behind my ear! Am not going to lie, I was scared as this was my 1st tattoo ever!! Steve was awesome! Sketched exactly what I wanted and inked it up in like an hour and a half total, and it wasn’t an easy spot. Great first tattoo experience!

My artist was Ace.Not only was Ace a genuinely good dude, he also gave me exactly what I was looking for. My tattoo was lettering on the chest, and it came out looking as crisp and clear as anyone could hope for.Ace made the tattoo itself as fast and painless as possible, and the two-day bandage he provided for aftercare worked great.I could not recommend Yankee Doodle Dandy Tattoo or Ace highly enough. If you want a tattoo done in Des Moines, check with these guys before you go anywhere else.

Went in as a walk-in and got two super nice tattoos. It was my first time and Dan made the experience super chill and amazing. For both tats it was only $200. I’m definitely going back for more.

All of the employees are cool as hell and genuinely care about their work and customers. I got a tattoo by Dan and he was awesome and his price was beyond fair. I plan on going back for almost all my tattoos. Nice atmosphere and nice people, quality work at affordable prices. 10/10

Took my daughter here to get a birthday tattoo and everything was perfect from setting up appointment, estimated cost and a very well done tattoo. I dont recall the artist that did the work but Ive heard nothing but great things and the best work coming out of all the artists there. Centrally located in DSM. Excellent!

Ace has done most of my tattoos. I enjoy going to him because he puts me at ease and we usually have a great time chatting it up. Its aways good to have an understanding of who your artist is and what their style is before jumping into anything.

Ive received six tattoos from Ace at Yankee Doodle. Hes got a light touch, is stupid fast, and Ive always been nothing but happy with his work. He is always kind and is very helpful with size, placement, and design of tattoos. One of the best artists in the area in my opinion.

Greg DeHoot is a BEAST! He did a badass plague doctor piece on my arm and I am in love with it. By far my favorite tattoo I have. He also did a tattoo in my lip for me which we had lots of fun with. Greg was super professional, tons of fun to hang out and chat with, and took his time on the piece to make it perfect, not only with the actual tattooing but also with the placement. His price was more than fair, especially for the incredible work he did. I will definitely be back for many more and would recommend him to anybody. Great artist and great person.

Ace is great. Very vocal and opinionated which I appriciate. I always enjoy going in and talking with him. He designed a coverup for me and its by far the best tattoo I have. I love going here and refuse to go anywhere else.

Devin helped design the perfect tribute to my late pup. This is my 5th tattoo from YD and even though they do amazingly sophisticated designs. What I wanted was simple and just right.

Been going to Ace for almost a decade and his work is always excellent. He has a light hand, solid line work and hes quick. Definitely recommend him and anyone who works at the shop.

Ace did my right arm with an awesome stylized DNA, and Veronica did my left with an awesome stylized bass clef. Couldnt be happier with the quality and artistic work these guys do!

I called ahead to try and attempt going here for a tattoo after even after the bad rants I heard about the artists here. I tried to give them a chance to redeem their bad names and overall the rants were true. I did not even go in to get a tattoo done by them. The person that answered was rushing to get out of there and questioned the piece I wanted done. He even told me he was trying to get out of ther by a certain time and thought I only wanted minimal work done..which is extremly unprofessional. Although they are a business, people pay them to work for the people and its our cash going in their pockets to support their business..The service and rudeness of just the customer service on the phone alone already made up my mind that I was not going to go here for the world. Ill bring my money elsewhere. Without the people they wouldnt be in business so they definitely need to work on the customer service loyalty..

Ace was absolutely fantastic. He paid attention to what I wanted and drew up a beautiful piece. I couldnt be more thrilled with his skill and upbeat personality.

Went there for my birthday last year, asked for a moon on my finger. Charged me $90 for a quarter sized tattoo. Very disappointed and the tattoo is very spotty. I would not recommend going here. Worst $90 Ive ever spent.
