I visited North AL Ink for a rook piercing, and it was great. The environment felt like a big family, the facility looked very clean, the piercer was awesome at reminding me to breathe and made sure I was well informed on all cleaning practices, when to change jewelry, etc. I would recommend this place for a piercing!!! Plus they accept walk in appointments.

I had a great experience here!! I got my snake bites pierced by Izzy! He was so funny and made me super comfortable. Loved the experience and will for sure be back :)

First time at the shop and I went in for a walk-in piercing. Super super friendly staff!! Was in and out in about 20 minutes. Skylar did my piercing and they were very kind and made it as painless as possible. Definitely recommend getting your piercings here! Really good price too

So far I’ve had 2 tattoos and a total of 7 piercings (not including my most recent re-piercing). I highly recommend this shop, the people are always friendly and enjoyable. My best personal experience was my most recent one with Isaiah who redid my rook piercing. The first time wasn’t great, but it was my own fault for getting it with a few others on a busy day with a piercer that came to help with the holiday sale. The first time hurt a lot, took forever to heal, and I could very much so feel the bleeding😅 this time was super easy, it didn’t even hurt, and there was no bleeding. Isaiah knows what he’s doing! Definitely my recommended piercer from now on, and I am excited to get my next tattoo!

Izaiah did my first piercings, both ears, as a walk-in. I went in alone, so I was pretty nervous, but the atmosphere the staff created was warm and inviting and soothed my nerves. My piercer was both easy to talk to and knowledgeable about what he does. I felt safe and confident in his ability from beginning to end. From the time I walked in, the process took about 15 minutes. In that time, he also explained aftercare, healing, and jewelry replacement. I am so glad that I chose them and will be returning in the future.

Took my 10 year old and my 17 year old in to get their ears pierced. Skyler did an amazing job! Not only did he take his time making sure it was done perfectly, he was kind and put my youngest daughter at ease when she got nervous. 100% recommend North Alabama Ink. I walked in on a friday for an ear piercing, and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by multiple people. Very polite. I was indecisive on which part of my ear I wanted to pierce and they were so kind and patient with me! After paying, also very affordable, I sat down and waited for MAYBE 5 minutes. Kandice pulled me back and went over the process with me. We talked about life and she was so sweet! My high lobe piercing was quick and painless. The shop is so clean and gives off a calm vibe . Will be back and highly recommend!

It was my first tattoo and I got one in honor of my cat. Everyone was so knowledgeable and patient. Everyone was so friendly! Shawn did my tattoo and he did an amazing job!! I highly recommend.

Kandice did my tattoo in June it became severely infected to where my skin bubbled up and fell off. It been six months of back and forth and the run around of they were gonna fix it, but its yet to be fixed.

Amazing! Second time in a month. My tat artist was Shawn both times and he far exceeded my expectations! I will only go to him from now now. He is light handed and super amazing with small detail. His choice in colors is incredible. I brought him ideas and he added his own special little touches. This places has many awesome artists as my son, husband and a few friends have came here. I definitely recommend and plan on being a frequent customer. The prices are very reasonable.

Went in October for a nose piercing and tattoo and let me say Izzy done a great job on my tattoo and Matt done a great job on my nose piercing , then took my niece last Saturday to get her septum done and had hers and mine done by Skylar and Izzy and they done such a wonderful job on both of ours, and Skylar and Chelsea who is also a very sweet person , helped me pick out a new nose ring and gave me some suggestions since I was getting it changed ! Have to say I definitely recommend North Alabama Ink for all your tattoo and piercings, because they have a fun , friendly , comfortable and very professional atmosphere , and have become my favorite shop and every one of their artists and piercers are very nice and makes you feel completely welcomed and already thinking about another tattoo idea ! ❤️Edited to add : my picture of the tattoo now after it has healed, Septum had done last Saturday and the nose piercing was after it was done back in October!

Shawn Kizer is the cream of the crop when it comes to a tattoo artist. He has a light and steady hand and his line work is superb. He truly cares what his work looks like and takes the time to make it perfect. I have 6 tattoos from various artists and this one was definitely the best.My husband and I got matching tattoos and he let me pick them out. This was his very first tattoo ever so of course it was fitting that I choose a 5 hour peice. Ooops... Shawn was great with making him feel comfortable, he even took his shoes off to help my husband not feel so embarrassed because he came in there with some stinky feet lol. He was very professional and fun to talk to. He gave us great and clear instructions as well as answered a question for my husband a few days later very quickly.I would highly recommend him for any tattoo but definitely if you are wanting great line work and an original design. My tattoo Virgin husband sat through a 5 hour tattoo and is already planning his next by Shawn. I will never use another artist.

Everyone there is nice and it’s like they have known you all your life. Matt did a tattoo for me and it turned out beautifully. Have been there many times with my daughter also and they are amazing in everything they do.

Most professional & talented artists in the area. Personally, Daniel Freeman had been my tattoo artist for over 20 years. Have also had Chelsea do permanent makeup and Matt has done piercing for me. So I am not limited to 1 artist or 1 service. Friends & family have had Stan, Matt, Tara and various others others at this shop do beautiful artwork, permanent makeup & piercings. None have ever had 1 complaint about any of their artwork, piercings or the artists performing them. This is a friendly, fun, family shop where you can take anyone from your baby girl to get her ears pierced (Kandice is great with kids!) to someone wanting a full back, leg or arm piece that any of the artists can beautifully do.Look up some of their work of FB, Instagram. You wont be disappointed!

Highly recommended, my brother had gotten a tattoo from them and he recommended them to me because I’ve been wanting to get my tribute tattoo for my brother and favorite singer and was wanting it done a certain way because it was really important to me and I got my tattoo from Shawn. Got my tongue pierced here 4 years ago and they put a cartilage bar in my tongue rather than a barbell meant for the tongue, and said it was to allow for swelling, I couldn’t even fully close my mouth as the bar was touch both bottom and roof of my mouth, 5 days later I coughed, it got caught and ripped a little, I went back, demanding they put different jewelers in, which is when they confessed they didn’t actually have any tongue jewelry no long bars and no regular ones, but that I could go to Spencer’s and buy some and they’d but it in for me.

Kandice was wonderful! The place is really clean & welcoming. The staff are all friendly. We’ve gotten tattoos & piercings here. Great experience every visit.

Shawn Kizer has been amazing. I used to jump from shop to shop, but ever since I found him, I’ll forever keep going to him. I’ve gotten 2 done here by Shawn- love them both! Awesome line work, clean space, makes sure you love every part of the plan before he gets started. I had one tattoo at another place before this, and this one beats it by far. Shawn moved to Gypsy Muse recently - make sure you ask for him!

Not good. Two stars instead of one just because it can be salvaged by someone else, but he couldnt keep his lines straight. He couldnt do a custom design, he had to copy paste something straight from the Internet that was just similar to my design... They also tried to talk me into getting it bigger than it should be to charge more, and it still ended up being bigger than I wanted. They also just had a bad attitude in general and were rude all around. In reading other reviews too its creepy that women seem to generally have a much better experience with them 🤦🤮 .... Unless you get something small and simple I think youll regret going here, unfortunately I definitely do.

Got my piercing from here, not only did I get a staph infection, he piercer who helped remove them said it was the most botched piercings he has ever seen. They were crooked and they used horse shoe rings instead of straight bells. When I asked for a refund and sent pictues, they demanded I come in person so they can inspect the piercing. It was a piercing in a private area. 100% recommend avoiding this place.

Kandice was lovely! She took such precious care of my little girls ears and wonderful care of her tiny emotions! We are behind excited about our service and loved the atmosphere of serious cleanliness and professionalism in the no drugs floor mat! Yay for Kandice! And YAY for North Alabama Ink!!

Artist Shawn was super nice and did amazing work for my sister and I. We walked in not expecting to get a tattoo that same day but we walked out with amazing ones! He even stayed passed closing time to make sure he did both ours together. Overall a meaningful experience!

I got my septum pierced here in October 2020. I’m not sure the name of the piercer but once she was done the piercing was very obviously crooked. It was pierced diagonally instead of straight and before I was even able to say anything about it she started trying to convince me that one of my nostrils was bigger than the other and that’s why it looked like that. It also never healed correctly and was painful until I removed it after 5 months. The jewelry I was pierced with was an open ring. It was way too big for my nose and had nothing stopping it from falling out. It would literally come out every single time I was in the shower so I had to get a different ring and change it out way before I was supposed to just to keep it from coming out. Thankfully I had to remove my piercing for a surgery and got it redone at Gypsy Muse. It was perfectly straight, healed quickly, and I have not had one single problem with it.

Also the whole establishment is so clean and everyone there is so friendly, you seriously feel right at home. After a few cover-up quotes I walked into North Alabama Ink and spoke to Shawn. He wasnt like the previous artist who looked at my wrist, blurted out a price range and that was the end of the quote. He asked the type of rose I wanted, the color, the size, all the questions to make this tattoo best for me. To me that was the first great impression. He priced the tattoo after showing me the design he came up with, and the price was better than any locals around the area. The tattoo he was covering, was actually a 3rd time cover-up from previous artist, and he NAILED IT! Not only is he a great artist- the compassion he has while tattooing and the kindness and love shown in the room with his wife made me realize that I was in the right place. Both of them are amazing people and Ill definitely be back and use him from here on out.Highly recommended!

Me and my friend went to get our septum’s pierced, we were so nervous but our piercer, Kandice, was super sweet and calmed us down. She did a wonderful job, it didn’t hurt one bit and I’m glad I got it done here instead of somewhere else. 1000/10 would recommend and will be back for my first tatt

I highly recommend this business especially if you have a teenager wanting a piercing. ....they were very nice and friendly and professional and they made us feel very comfortable. I brought my daughter here a few weeks ago to get her nose pierced for her 17th birthday and Kandice did an amazing job she is a very outgoing person ....she talked to my daughter the whole time and that made her feel more at ease. The shop was clean everyone was super nice and friendly. Will definitely be going back.

North Alabama Ink and their artists have been tattooing me and my family and friends for years! When talking about tattoos or asked about mine, I will always recommend this shop! Doesn’t hurt that the shop is clean and all are friendly also! Can’t go wrong choosing North Alabama Ink for any tattoo or piercing need that you have!

If you are a veteran or have any medical issues and have a service dog, go else were. The out right disregard for the laws allowing service animals and the terrible attitudes we witnessed, it’s a shock they are still in business. There are plenty of better businesses that are accommodating and have better attitudes in the shoals.

My friend, my sister and i all went in as walk ins wanting flower tattoos my sisters was one simple flower and she got colby as an artist and we did amazing! me and my friend wanted matching tattoos but we wanted certain parts from 3 different photos and shawn put together a tattoo even better than what i wanted! It was an amazing environment and very clean! it was our first time going and we were VERY pleased and can’t wait to go back for more!

Daniel has done all of my tattoos except for one. He’s the only person that I’ll let tattoo me. Just had some work done to my sleeve in progress and he did an amazing job as usual. I highly recommend to everybody to use this shop

I honestly wish I could leave no stars. Anna Green is the worst artist, and I use that term loosely. I went to her for a my very first tattoo after the guy I originally booked decided he didnt want to tattoo a teenage girl and pushed me off on her. She disregarded what I wanted for sizing and started tattooing. When I left I noticed two es in my lettering were BACKWARDS and the lines were wobbly. After the healing most of my lines were blown out. 2 years later, Im trying to find a cover up design. The only florence artist I recommend is Tristan at west coast!

Went to get my belly button pierced last month. he was not friendly, and pierced me with a captive ball ring. he wasn’t helpful and didn’t tell me anything about aftercare. it has been so irritated and red the last month and it felt so tight. i went into the shop today for them to look at it and they acted like i was STUPID and told me to go home and change it if the hoop bothered me that bad. so i go home to change it and put in a different ring and realize that it’s pierced so deep that a normal belly ring wouldn’t even reach from the entrance hole to the exit hole.

The entire staff were very friendly, I can say the shop was beyond packed when I went and you would think the staff would have been overwhelmed but they remain calm and handled everyone with respect!! Checked on us from time to time and let us know how much longer it would be! If I ever decide to get another piercing I will definitely go back to them!

I went there for my first tattoo a day they were so friendly and understanding when I wanted my brother and his girlfriend there (they had gotten tattoos in the same place I had gotten mine and they were there for moral support) I was in and out in like 30-35 minutes and the staff was just so amazing. Definitely going back for my second one, and third, and fourth, ect.

He donated a gift certificate to the rally at the river to help the kids at st jude I won it in the auction. How awesome is that for a tattoo artist to donate his time to help those Kids. When I got home from getting two lip piercings I noticed not only one side was higher than the other but one stud is also shorter than the other. And the piercer literally pierced my friends septum in the wrong spot but he didnt mark the spot to pierce it and he dropped the ball to the jewelry and didnt even bother sterilizing it before putting it on the jewelry and when she went in to get them to loosen up the ball so she can take the piercing out because she was not happy how he pierced it she told me that the lady inside was rude to her so umm yeah never again will we be going back here I rather give my business to the other shops around here this place may have moved locations but still very unprofessional and rude

I had a lot of trouble with the piercings she did and it wasnt given the proper attention. Went to another shop and they said she used rings that were way too small. When he changed them, I got immediate relief and havent had problems since.

I got a piercing done there done for my bday and they messed it up so bad, she pierced it diagonally instead of straight, didn’t walk me through any of the steps of how I was getting pierced or anything… plz go somewhere else if you are getting any piercings!!!!

My belly button piercing came out crooked. they also put a captive ring in it when i got it, which cause me tons of irritation and infection a week after i got it. the nose piercing was good though.

Stan has supposedly been doing tattoos for 24 years. If you ask me he needs a new profession cause this looks like a child did it. The lines are shaky and don’t even line up. And the shading is missing in spots. Charged $60 for a 1.5 inch tattoo that looks awful. Not sure how he can happily let people leave like that.

Amazing staff, always ready to help and treated me like I was a long time customer even on my first introduction when I got my tongue redone. After that two days later I went back to get a tattoo and stan had no trouble accommodating me as a walk in even with the amount of detail my tattoo required, went back to get my wifes belly button periced and again got treated like I had been coming for years. I highly recommend them

Kandice did 5 piercings on me-a forward helix and a daith on my right ear, a double stack on my lobe & added a fourth hole beside it. I had also had my left forward helix and daith pierced prior to this.They were both stripped where I couldn’t remove them. She also took care of this for me. Any piercings or tattoos I receive in the future-Kandice will be my artist.

Came in with my girlfriend who was getting her snake bites redone and decided to ask about a tattoo and Shawn immediately took interest and came up with the design quickly but the eagerness and joy he showed while doing the tattoo is what makes him stand out from other artists he actually interacts with you and holds conversation even though it was a pretty simple tattoo he conversated the whole time and even gave me advice on the best way to take care of my tattoo to avoid infection and I look forward to bringing going up future ideas with him

I had a tattoo done here yesterday. I’m not sure of the guys name, but he was super unprofessional and reckless. I got my tattoo on the back of my right arm, and he didn’t use any kind of stand or anything to prop my arm up. He just propped it on his KNEE while he was sitting on a rolling stool. He didn’t follow the stencil at all, connected lines that shouldn’t have been connected, and completely changed the shape of a key part of the design. He did the whole thing in like three minutes from start to finish. It was my fourth tattoo, and I’ve never had redness or pain like I have from this one. 99% sure he caused it to scar and now it’s going to look terrible when it heals. Never returning.

Rooster did an amazing job on my Friday the 13th tattoo. The shop was extremely clean, everyone was wearing masks. On top of that, everyone was super nice and friendly.
