Had my helix pierced here in early September. I then returned for the check up and down sizing. Kristie is amazing. The shop is immaculate and inviting. Kristie explained every step for the piercing and the down size processes. She makes you feel very at ease and she is easy to talk to and ask questions. She is very knowledgeable. This is the only place I will go for my pricing and jewelry needs. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

Kristie was so good with my 5 year old daughter. She explained everything to her and spoke directly to her about her cleaning care and what she was going to do step-by-step, I think it helped make her feel extra comfortable. The shop was clean and everything was done in a sterile fashion. We will definitely come back to Kristie when our younger daughter is ready to get her ears pierced.

Overall very positive experience. Everything was well organized and cleanly, the piercer was professional and meticulous, and the piercings themselves were done very well.

My best friend and I went in and got permanent bracelets! They have a huge selection of chains, all so pretty! Kate (I believe that was her name) was super helpful and so sweet. She accommodated me to pay with multiple forms of payment. I imagine I will be back here again for another permanent bracelet or anklet! If you’re looking to get permanent jewelry or a piercing, this is an amazing studio!*Update 2024* - I have since been back to get my helix pierced and the whole process was great! Kate is so sweet and was patient with me in choosing the jewelry & placement. The healing process has been great, this is my second time getting it pierced so I skeptical. The jewelry they use is the best quality so I’ve had no issues! I can’t wait to go back again to get another piercing.

I had my daughters nose and belly button done here, and wow! What a awesome experience! The place was spotless and sterile and their procedures to make sure everything was sterile was like a surgeon going for a operation! The jewelry was top notch! This was the first time Ive ever dealt with a piercing and the knowledgeable staff made me feel 100% comfortable during the session that she was taken care of and she was! We left knowing how to care for the new piercings as they are very sensitive when they are first done and need the up most attention and care! Highly recommend! There is a reason they have all five star ratings aside of a few, which looks like they neglected to take care of the Piercing after it was done.

We got my daughter’s ears pierced for her birthday by Kristie several weeks ago. We looked at a few other studios first but Red Nova Studio was the clear choice. Kristie was so patient and caring when our daughter was super nervous. She made the whole process seamless, comfortable, and easy. My daughter is already wanting to choose her next piercing. Red Nova is exceptionally clean and has high quality jewelry choices. We followed all of the aftercare instructions to a T and have had zero problems. Everything has healed up perfectly! I would recommend Kristie to anyone looking to get pierced by a true professional, and will most definitely be coming back in the future.

I have had 5 piercings from Kristie, and they have all turned out perfect. Her jewelry is phenomenal, and her dimenor is amazing. She is the best that I have ever been to. The piercings and the jewelry is the best I have ever had. I will continue to go back there for any other piercings.

Absolutely love this studio, I have been here twice and been pierced by Kristy. The shop is always clean and their sterile process during the whole piercing was amazing. I’ve had some bad experiences with local piercers from here on out I will only be going to Red Nova!!!!

Kate was incredibly professional, educational and just a pleasure to work with. She was truly authentic and I absolutely loved working with her to get my lobe piercings and felt like she genuinely cared about my experience at the studio. She is also incredibly funny and true to herself. Highly recommend going here.

We had a horrific experience here. I took my daughter here for a nose piercing. She was so excited about it. A few days later, we were scared because she was still having a lot of pain and could not see the back of it inside her nose. We had it looked at by a piercer from another shop who was appalled when he saw that the post used was too short and the back was too small. It had already become embedded in her nose and he was almost unable to remove it. We thought she would have to have it surgically removed, but thank God he was able to remove it.

Had a great experience for my ear piercings with Kate! Ive been back twice for help with styling existing piercings and having the jewelry changes out. Highly recommend working with her.

I came into Red Nova Studio last weekend with a huge piercing emergency and when I say Kate was like a superhero… she totally came to my rescue. I will never go to a male owned tattoo parlor again EVER to get my damn ears pierced because they completely scammed me and I am eternally grateful for Kate and this studio for fixing their mistake and calming me down in my panic. PSA- I learned that NC has no laws around piercings and to only go to certified body piercing experts which seems like a given, but better to learn later than never 😂🤦🏼‍♀️Thank you for listening to my rant and thank you to Kate for being a true Godsend.

My review is a year late, but massively owed!I had my chest done at Red Nova, and the level of sanitation, professionalism, skill, and compassion were above and beyond. I explained when I booked my appointment that I was needle phobic and that I was having the piercings done as a way to reclaim my body after SA. She didnt make me feel judged for my fears or my reasons. And she made me feel supported and empowered throughout my appointment. A years worth of healing through her instruction, and my piercings are straight, I have no problems with them, no crusties after 7 months (maybe healed before schedule? But im not stopping my regimen just to be sure.), and no more pain. I will absolutely be back to kristie and her team for every piercing need.I also went in yesterday to shop for jewelry during the sale and met Kate. She explained she is Kristies apprentice, and she is so sweet and knowledgeable! She held space for us to look around and shop. I was also able to run a piercing idea by her and get her opinion. I am excited to have something done by her as well in the near future!

She did an amazing job and was overall wonderful. So many options and great instructions. A very welcoming environment and a great experience. The shop was also very clean and organized. My mother also loved all the other goodies she had for sale. I will be returning in the future for more piercings (and goodies!) Love love love 🖤

An absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish! It was so easy to make an appointment, everything was so clean and beautiful inside the shop, and we were made comfortable from the moment we walked in. I had a previous experience with another place that didnt go well, so she listened to my concerns and helped me understand why things went wrong and how I could heal better. I felt comfortable, heard, and supported the entire time. It was hard to choose among the gorgeous jewelry and the work was beautiful. Cant wait to visit again!

Kristie the owner is delightful. She was closing up shop and ushered me in anyway to get new jewelry for my nose piercing. She is highly skilled with a steady hand and great dexterity. I’m totally in love with my new opal stud. It’s gorgeous!

This place is absolutely incredible! I got my nose pierced and she walked me through the ENTIRE process. She gave me so many choices on jewelry and did a perfect job. I love that she has very interesting pieces ( I got a triangle stud). Very clean and organized!! Definitely can’t wait till I’m all healed up to get my next piercing!!

This shop is so clean and a friendly environment. I got my belly button pierced and she worked around my anatomy and gave me a piercing that fit me best and did an AMAZING job! I am so obsessed! So sweet and gave me such good aftercare instructions and was so gentle when piercing. If I decide to get more in the future I am coming here! ☺️✨❤️

I’m sad to say that I paid a lot of money to get 2 gold permanent necklaces done. One completely turned color on me after only 2 months. No refund no replacements nothing. So I wasted my money! My 3 daughters were with me and have already had to go back to get their chains redone because they broke. Again this was less than 2 months of having it done.

These ladies are fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and warm. Their shop is comfortable and clean (and witchy!). The piercings were quick, and they give you a thorough briefing on your jewelry and any care instructions. Do yourself a favor, give this one a go.
