When I first walked in the shop, immediately greeted with the greatest most genuine people! All of the artists are amazingly talented. Alexa blew me away, the way she turned my imagination into reality and surpassed every expectation I had. Such an amazing artist and even more an amazing person. Made sitting for hours a great experience. The shop is two hours away from where I live. And YES! I’ll be coming back!

Fantastic experience, got my first tattoo here not too long ago and already have many more planned! Building is nice and clean and the staff are amazing. Alexa did flawless work and was incredible to work with. I highly recommend coming here for anything and everything you want theyll make your visions a reality

I have now had many jewelry changes/piercings at Be True and Punch never fails to impress. She is attentive to all needs and preferences, thorough, kind, and loves her profession. I got a double conch done by Amanda. The online booking process was easy to navigate and straightforward. Amanda was incredibly precise and took her time to make sure I understood the process fully, even though I have many other piercings already. She is extremely personable and I appreciate how she takes her time to make sure you are happy with placement and the jewelry you choose. I had a fantastic experience and will recommend her and this shop to everyone I can.

Miss Amanda did the BEST job for my septum.I came in on the spot for a septum, got a tiny huggie one to lighten up my face, and man: it did light up my face!She also checked if my ears were still pierced, because I was just looking to re-pierce them.I ended up with a gold septum and mix and match earrings, their jewelry is to DIE for. And you’re able to order more if you want?? A dream.Loved going here, felt so safe, secure, and had a great time overall. Amanda is extremely experienced, you’ll be in good hands.

I don’t even know where to begin with all of the wonderful things I have to say about this place—but what makes it truly exceptional is miss Punch the piercer. I had the pleasure of getting 2 cartilage piercings today and wow just wow. Not only was I extremely impressed with the care, attention to detail and flawless precision but the jewelry options are superb, high end and I was pierced with the most sanitary process I’ve ever seen in my life. My experience from start to finish was so comfortable, and turned out so well. The shop is so beautiful and well kept—you can’t help but feel at ease. I haven’t seen people so passionate about their work in a very long time. It was truly refreshing to have this experience. Highly recommend for any piercing and tattoo needs.

The shop is clean and bright, with lots of fantastic art to look, and the staff is friendly. My appointment was with Punch for lobe piercings. Throughout the appointment she talked me through what was happening and why, and was able to answer any questions. She was very knowledgeable and provide easy to understand aftercare instructions. The shop is very clean and the whole vibe is very calm and relaxed. Amanda is easily the best piercer I have ever been pierced by, she explained everything to me from start to finish and made sure I was comfortable through the entire process. I went into the shop with a rough idea and placement that I wanted a tattoo for and Alexa knocked it out of the park! The shop was super clean and comfortable to be tattooed in! Everyone was SUPER friendly and I even got a follow up text to check on my tattoo and make sure everything was healing right! Definitely recommend and plan on stopping back in when I’m back in town to collect another! 🥰

Charlie was my artist for my first tattoo. At first I walked in really nervous and skeptical, but Charlie made the experience memorable and let me know I was in good hands. The final product turned out incredible and I’m already planning my next tattoo. Definitely recommend!

Great service, very gracious staff, and extremely clean parlor. Their seating set up was comfortable and you can watch your friends get tattoos. Bathrooms are clean and we all loved our artists work. Our team came in to get the same tattoo, different sizes and different places and we all loved the outcome. Awesome experience for all of us.

I honestly was so beyond impressed going in here. I usually don’t leave reviews much but they are just amazing. I came in as a walk in just wanting something small and they had availability and I was in and out in less than an hour. I always get nervous with tattoos/piercings but Alexa was so nice and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Not to mention, it was definitely affordable for the amazing work. 10/10 would recommend, especially for the women who feel more comfortable surrounded by women!

Makayla is amazing, and you can tell they cared about the quality of their work. Both that Ive received so far have healed very well. I get so many compliments on my color piece. I tell everyone to go to Be True.Went back on 8/22/23 and got the beautiful lotus piece by Mak. I get compliments everywhere I go. I have at least 4 more tattoos and 2 piercings I want. I dont have a lot of self-confidence, but every time I leave Be True, Ive gained a little more.Every tattoo my Mom and I have gotten has exceeded our expectations. Were always excited to see how our descriptions and references come together.Getting into piercings, Punch is always so thorough and chatty with us while also being professional.If you have a bad experience at Be True, your energy drives that. Maybe its just because Im there so often. I wouldnt be if I did not enjoy interacting with every member of the Be True team, though. The only place I’ll go for piercings! Not only is the shop extremely clean, sterile and aesthetic but the piercer Amanda Punch is incredible! She always takes her time helping you pick out jewelry and working on piercing placement. Amanda also has a really comforting presence and she explains every step of the process as she goes. I always feel so comfortable and I’m never disappointed when I leave. Plus they have the best selection of quality jewelry and a gorgeous display case.

Went in for the 1 year anniversary flash special and got a very cool dog tattoo. Space was clean, artists were friendly! Photo is the tattoo all healed. Would absolutely come back in a heart beat!

This was my first time getting tattooed by Alexa although I’ve been at the shop before. It’s extremely clean and I appreciate how simple the decor is (as someone with anxiety it’s so relaxing here). Alexa was phenomenal and really took her time designing what I wanted and it was truly perfect. She’s a great person to talk to as well we talked the whole time. I love her energy the whole experience was so great! I can’t wait to get more work done by her.

Makayla did such an amazing job with my first tattoo!!! We travel the country constantly and I’m so grateful that they were able to squeeze me in and to do such fine linework to boot! They were patient and kind, and helped teach me proper aftercare techniques so that the design turned out incredible!! Can’t recommend highly enough!

The shop was very clean and well kept. It felt really upscale and that’s saying a lot for a tattoo parlor, especially in Lafayette! I’d highly recommend going here especially if you’re a woman. There wasn’t a point that I felt uncomfortable and my tattoo was on my upper thigh. I’ll definitely be back for my coverups!

I went in for my first piercing in many years and it was a great experience. I had assistance picking out an appropriate piece for my conch piercing, and had a range styles and price options to pick from. The process was not rushed. We then spent time looking at placement and Amanda explained everything as it was happening. There was minimal discomfort during the actual piercing, and I was given guidance on aftercare, healing times, and when to return for downsizing. I intend to return for at least a couple more piercings, and I highly recommend.

Punch is AMAZING!! Very very thorough. I went in to get my Medusa piercing done (upper lip) and she took all the time to make sure it was center. I am very very happy with my jewelry option and it’s healing beautifully. I can’t wait to go back for more piercings!

I will never go to another piercer. Amanda pierced my industrial and nose back in December of ‘22. Been going to her ever since. She’s so sweet and nice. She takes her time to make sure everything is placed correctly. She gives ideas and suggestions which are really helpful. I cannot recommend her enough!

Charlie always does a phenomenal job with my tattoos. I sent him a few pictures and details for inspo, and his sketch for this one blew me away. I didn’t want to change a single thing. This is my second time getting my an ear piercing from Amanda and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Amanda knows so much about piercing and is just a lovely person in general. I love that she makes your appointment so personalized and even takes the time to test different jewelries to see what looks best! Went to Be True to get my daughter’s (4 years old) ears pierced, and Amanda was phenomenal with her. The space was very clean and well prepped. Amanda was patient with my little one and assured her throughout the entire process. She made her as comfortable as she could, and it made for an (almost) painless experience.

Charlie did an awesome job. This wasnt my first hand tattoo, but he was the first to run me through the risks of fading and why it happens. Everyone I spoke to was kind and helpful. Got a free t shirt too, another first. Fantastic shop

There staff is amazing!!!!! There all open and excepting they kept me very comfortable and the piercer walked me though everything and made me very comfortable, I had issues the first time with my 🍒 and she came in on her day off to re do them for me with no charge (she took accountability for it being to deep) even tho we knew there was a high chance of it happening I wasn’t upset or mad at all she just wanted me to be happy with them and I was more then that!!!!! My daughter and I went to Be True Tatto amd Piercing to celebrate her 15th birthday. I received a tattoo, and she got 2 piercings. The staff was very knowledgeable and polite. The facility is neat and clean. The environment was one I was ok woth bringing my 15 year old daughter into. I recommend you give them a chance.

I had an appointment with Cy, and she is amazing. While she was doing my tattoo, she was my therapist, as tattoo artists usually are. Very creative, funny, talented, and very smart. I would def recommend anyone get a tattoo here and with her. I also had a piercing done but I am bad with names. She is tall and pierced. I believe there is only two of them. She is amazing as well. That was my first time getting a professional piercing, and she calmed my nerves and did not even hurt. She is very gentle and tells you everything she is doing along the way. Love this place. Everyone here is super friendly as well. Very clean establishment.

Punch has pierced me several times, and I dont go to anyone else! The shop is super clean, the jewelry selection is fantastic, and Punch is obviously very education and passionate. I recommend them to everyone I know looking for a piercer!

Originally tried to get an appointment at the sister shop, Instant Classic, but they referred me and my husband to Alexa at Be True. We couldnt be happier! Alexa is amazing! This was my first tattoo and we had the best time. We talked and laughed so much. I never thought I would laugh while getting tattooed, but Alexa has the best personality and is easy to talk to and very compassionate! She offered me several breaks and consistently checked to make sure I was doing ok. She is an amazing artist! I told her what I wanted and she drew the most amazing tattoos! The shop itself is very clean and all the artists are very friendly, welcoming and supportive! We were there for a total of 5 hours with Alexa staying late to finish! We will be going back for my husband to get his tattoos. Cant wait to go back!

I got a Faux Rook piercing. She was incredibly patient and informative about healing process and jewelry selection. I loved how comfortable they make you feel about the piercing process and also how she takes the time to make sure you leave with something that looks great and that you’ll absolutely love! :)

I got both of my ears pierced here at 12 gauge and I had an amazing experience! The lady who did mine seemed to have a passion for piercings and knew a lot. She talked me through the whole process and it went super easy. Definitely will recommend this place for piercings!

I loved my experience here at Be True. I’ve been to other piercing places but I’ve been here 2 or 3 times for different services and I will never go anywhere else again. Punch did my navel piercing and I would 100% trust her to do any other piercing. She takes her time and makes sure it’s perfect. Very professional staff, piercer spends time making sure her alignment marks are straight and centered, jewelry is high quality and comfortable. She does not use clamps but it was practically painless. Also studio is very lgbt friendly.

This is a great place to come for tattoos! All the artists and pieces are female so its a very safe and comfortably environment for women. Everyone who works there is super friendly and the place and procedures are very clean. Alexa did my tattoo and I absolutely love it!

Went for a mother daughter ear piercing with Punch. She was calm and. explained every step to my 7 yo daughter to make sure she was brave and new what to expect. Same for my new piercings. She suggested new placements and took her time making sure placements looked great. Couldnt recommend enough!

I got all my piercings from this place and I would not trust any other place. They are the nicest people I’ve met. The piercer is very detailed and everything is sterilized. Came to watch my friend get her first tattoo and it was absolutely the best experience! Her artist was Makayla, and they were such a vibe. The space was very open and clean but the energy was relaxed and comfy. Makayla made sure my friend liked her tattoo placement and coloring and wasn’t upset or annoyed with minor changes. They also got most of my jokes/media references which is just an instant billion points. They made our friend’s first tattoo experience so fun and she LOVES her new tattoo. It’s exactly what she wanted and it made me want to get a red ink tattoo in the future.

I took my 8 year old daughter to have her ears pierced in March. They went above and beyond to make sure Evie was comfortable and walked her through every step of the way. Amanda used a turtle analogy to help Evie better understand what not to do when she felt the piercing happening. Amanda is fantastic! I got my nose pierced by Punch in May 2024. They were super helpful the first time I called before I even made my appointment as it was my first time getting a piercing since I was a toddler and my ears were pierced. Punch not only answered my questions and eased my concerns but was also super patient with me as I picked out my jewelry (I was super indecisive). I am excited to go back to change my stud in my nose into a ring!

This staff of ladies were extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, attentive, and fast. Our work was done beautifully by Lainy Lou and her passion for her craft felt unmatched! The facility was clean and well kept, the music was great, and someone was always able to assist promptly. Special shouts to Lex and Punch who stayed late and never diminished their hospitality a drop. My only gripe is the shop was slightly hard to find and could benifit from more flare to get the attention of passers by.

My cousin and I went to get a tattoo by Charlie, who is an exceptionally talented artist and also a great conversationalist. The tattoos turned out beautifully and I’m grateful we entrusted him with such a meaningful piece. While in the space, I spoke with Amanda about doing a nostril piercing since I had some time available. She promptly got me setup, reviewed healing instructions and procedure, helped me select appropriate jewelry for the piercing, and provided an absolute 11/10 experience for the actual process of piercing. Her positive demeanor and ability to clearly and concisely explain every step of the process made getting my second piercing an absolute breeze. I got a tattoo here last week from one of the apprentices, Lainy, and the entire experience was wonderful. She was kind, patient, professional, and the tattoo she gave me came out amazing. Her mentor Charlie was also very personable and periodically checked in to make sure that her tattoo was progressing well and gave constructive criticism when necessary. The shop was modern, bright, and clean. All of the tattooers and piercers seemed happy to be there which made the experience more comfortable and enjoyable as a whole. Makayla is the most professional and one of the most artistically talented tattoo artist that I’ve ever been tattooed by. Her fine line work is top notch. Also, her fantasy work is out of this world, I’ve always wanted a tattoo of a mermaid with green hair and a purple tail to honor my mawmaw and she did her magic. The tattoo that my husband got today by Makayla Dupre was probably one of the worst tattoo experiences that either he or I have ever had.The entire process started off super unprofessionally with one of the first artists I talked to sending us on a goose chase between two tattoo parlors. Not once ever differentiating which one we should have been at to make a deposit in the first place. Upon arriving at Be True studios we were told that we could not make a deposit on a debit card which was not specified before to us when talking to them online & via text message. We had to use an ATM machine in their studio with a transaction fee.Lainey the person I had been in contact with told us during the deposit that we could pay with the debit card during the appointment. This also turned out not to be true. We again found ourselves today having to use the ATM again, acquiring a fee, again.During the tattoo process my husband was directed to lay on his side to get a left upper arm tattoo. Which to someone who (myself) has heavy arm tattoos has never seen this asked to do before. Ive always been able to sit up. I found this super strange.According to my husband the artist Makayla Dupre was super unfriendly/unwelcoming during the entire process. Not speaking any more than 10 sentences to him the entire time. I also found it very strange since every artist Ive ever worked with has been interested in what I was getting and why.When I arrived to pick my husband up I was immediately hit with this negative unwelcoming energy out of nowhere. It felt like all of the air had been sucked out of the room. I didnt understand where this energy was radiating from until I met Makayla Dupre. Who, mind you, did not greet me or my children. Even though they had just spent over an hour working on my husbands tattoo.Besides having to pay over $7 in ATM fees over the course of two visits we also tipped Makayla Dupre generously & never received a thank you from them.I dont know if this person was having an off day or not but I would not recommend Makayla Dupre in any capacity as a tattoo artist. They seem very biased to the type of clientele they desire.My opinion: I honestly think they have a problem with the fact that my husband is an older white male. My husband is a kind & gentle energy Pisces with a good heart and soul. This tattoo is meaningful & I dont believe that Makayla Dupre understood the assignment. Its a family tattoo that has very deep meaning especially since I am in the throes of stage 4 cancer. Its supposed to encompass my husbands, myself & my two daughters horoscope signs flowing together as one. If Makayla Dupre had spoken to my husband & realized that he is very passive they would have understood what he really wanted. What he & I spoke about for years deeply about finishing. I explained all of this during our emails initially that the tattoo should be intertwined. The tattoo is fine technically, good lines, but the energy in it is not there. The entire flow is off.Its not about the money at the end of the day. Being a tattoo artist is being an artist, period. Your work is supposed to reflect who you are no matter how big or small the tattoo is. I felt like their dislike & misunderstanding of my husband led to this debacle. They basically just slapped on whatever they felt like.If they had gotten to know my husband maybe they would be more sensitive to the fact that he & I have been practicing the craft for over 25 years & maybe they shouldnt have judged a book by its cover. Just as Im sure they dont want to be judged either.Makayla Dupre please get some better manners & understand that folks come from all walks of life. No matter what they look like.Im giving this place one 1 star not because there arent a lot of fine understanding artists between both shops. This rating is solely based upon Makayla Dupres professionalism, lack of artistry & willingness to get to know their clientele. Blessed Be.

Okay, so first, I want to brag on Amanda (Punch): Ive gotten a number of piercings from her at this point (this visit was my first at Be True), and every single time, I walk away feeling more confident, excited, and ecstatic about my new jewelry. She takes her work super seriously and goes out of her way to make sure Im well-informed while still managing to make it a comfortable, fun experience. I trust her to tell me when something may not work for my body and how to make any necessary adjustments, and she has never let me down in that regard.As a shop, Be True is incredibly clean, welcoming, and unintimidating (which cant be said for all tattoo businesses). Everyone there was super relaxed and seemed to just be enjoying themselves. The artists have done a great job creating a relaxing atmosphere for their clients.

I got my second nose piercing here & it was literally the best piercing experience i’ve ever had! Amanda explained everything before it happened to help calm my nerves. she is super knowledgeable & easy to feel comfortable with while she’s stabbing your face lol. a couple weeks after my piercing I had an issue with my stone & they took care of me with no issues at all! I will absolutely only get piercings from here.
