Port City Tattoo

Cole did an amazing job with our “sisters” tattoos. He is so friendly, kind and professional. This was my first tattoo and Cole made me feel very comfortable. The studio was beautiful, clean and comfortable. I’m ready for my next one!

I got tattooed by Damien King, fantastic guy! Super engaging to talk to and I loved the traditional style rabbits he drew up for me. He went pretty fast and I honestly felt like the pain was about a 4/10.Coolest shop ever too, people were super friendly and the art on the walls is super entertaining to study.Absolutely fantastic, will be visiting again :)

Francesca always does phenomenal work here. I’ve had several from her and they all heal great, clean lines, and are true works of art. The shop is clean and the artists are all friendly.

Came in as a walk in and got set up with Damien. I’ve been getting tattooed for the last 17 years and when I say this is the best tattoo I’ve ever gotten I’m not kidding. The lines are so clean and it’s by far the best tattoo I’ve ever gotten. I’ll 100% be coming back to get more from him. I used to live in LB but moved out of state and I am now I’m going to be traveling back to the LB and saving my tattoos for Damien at Port City Tattoo!

I got my first tattoo done by Cole Strem and I am OBSESSED. It was so quick and he was so kind and did amazing on everything from the design to the tattooing, I can not stop looking at it! He was so kind and explained every step as he went along, I had such an amazing experience!

Sooo, whatever you do DONT get a tattoo from Cody M. I recently had one of the worst experiences ive ever had in 24 tattoos. I went in to make an appt to collaborate on a sleeve I wanted to start, plus i wanted to tattoo my wedding ring. He told me to send him some clip art and ideas and to come in 7 days later to start it. I was apprehensive that he would be able to take my ideas and draw up a cool piece that quickly but gave him the benefit of the doubt. I showed up on Thursday and this dude had literally printed out the clip art/ screen shots i sent him and tried to slap it on my arm. When he saw i was hesitant he became obviously annoyed and i felt bad enough to tell him lets just do a crown over my wifes name, a solid black cross next to it and also do the ring tattoo which was a thick black ring with two thin lines. He gave me massive attitude and acted as if this was stupid and not possible. So i said fine bro, lets just do a thick solid ring. He rushed through all 3 tattoos, talked about how sometimes you have to be an “jerk” to people during the work and when he put the stencil on my finger i asked to make it thicker and he said, dont worry it will look thicker once it’s done. 2/3 tattoos look rushed and not good quality and the ring is crooked and spotty. He is obviously willing to leave someone with a bad tattoo..bad artist, but worse, a bad person. Smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ben was great !!! I was a walk in and they made me feel welcomed as well as helpful with my tattoo idea!!! Not my first nor last time walking in here. I’ve had Ben before and other artists and every single one has been amazing and accommodating. I recommend this place to anyone trying to get a reasonably priced and good quality tattoo. My friend and I walked into the parlor looking for matching tattoos. We had an image in mind, but were looking to change it a little so that it would fit our budgets. The artists were very accommodating and the process was very efficient. Cody was my artist and he did such a great job. It came out so beautifully, and I would definitely recommend this parlor to anyone looking for a walk-in or appointment in the LB area!

Been going here a couple years. All the artists are friendly and welcoming. Cole Strem is who does most of my work, he is wicked handsome and an amazing artist. Would recommend going there and letting him put something cool on you.

Extremely pleased with my experience with Cole Strem at Port City tattoo in Long Beach. I got two swallows done in recognition to my time in the Navy. Cole was so friendly and easy to work with, I can’t recommend him enough. Tattoo work was excellent, got it done quickly and efficiently. My artist was awesome. I visited as a walk-in discusses the tattoo on the spot with the artist, he drew it fairly quickly (even did a second drawing to for the space I asked for) and put love of art into the artwork. I am down in the LA/Long Beach/Irvine area and wanted to get a tattoo. Port City Tattoo was recommended to me by a friend. They didnt disappoint. I was greeted by Ben, showed him what I wanted and he did exactly that. I would get another tattoo here the next time Im in the area.

It was my husbands and I first tattoos. We were very nervous until we had a talked with JD St Berdoo. He made us feel very comfortable. He talked to us about our piece and how it would look better. The day of our tattoos he welcomed us and took the time to explained how does the machine works 🤔. He was very nice in answering all the first timmers questions we had lol. He made conversation with us and all that. At the end of the day we love the finish product. Over all a very wonderful experience ♡ we go back.

I walked in to get my baby’s paw print tattooed on my shoulder .. first of all super quick service and fair pricing. I got tattooed by Ben, he nailed the positioning and has a great hand, I am very satisfied and highly recommend!

Ben helped me, I walked in to get a couple tattoos done. Took me right away, took the drawings and shrunk them down to size. Gave me some suggestions and got the job done.Paid about 240 total for two small and simple outline tattoos, one on each forearm. Ive never gotten a tattoo before so I dont know whats considered expensive or cheap, but I like what he did with my kids drawings. Super happy with the outcome. Thanks Ben

Walked-in here for me and my girlfriend’s 10 year anniversary. Brought them an artwork that was simple but geometric. Had Eric do our tattoos and they came out very well. Had a professional experience through out the whole process.

Ive had two tattoos with two different artists at Port City Tattoo Long Beach and I love these guys. Theyre super professional and the studio is one of the nicest Ive ever been to. For this particular tattoo, my sister and I arrived thinking we were just going to have a consult, but we decided to see if they could fit us in right then and there and they did! We were in and out in no time, werent charged an extortionate amount for a walk-in, and well definitely be going back.

I go to Cole Strem for all my tattoos, he makes my experience so good and keeps good conversations with really good detailed tattoos. i wouldn’t go to anyone else for my tattoos.

This place is seriously the best. This is my 2nd tattoo Ive had done here and I love them both. I was a walk in both times and they helped me out right away. I got my first tatto here and was super nervous. Luckily, the artist Chris talked me through the process and of course I was alright. I went with two of my friends too and they both were able to get hooked up with cool tattoos as well. They are a little bit pricey but I honestly didn’t mind because it’s pretty rare you’ll find a place this cleanly with such a nice atmosphere. Sometimes you pay a bit higher of a price for quality and assurance, and that’s the case here!

Stopped in while traveling to add to my leg sleeve and they were able to see me in less than 30 minutes as a walk in. Frankie did a great job adding another bee to my leg in about an hour from sketch to finished tattoo. Cost was $200 W/O tip.. they only take CASH so come prepared.

I got a Tattoo on Wednesday from Damien and the experience was great. He did my daughters name and a Rose and it really came out better than I thought it would. The stuff staff was super cool and Damien talked to me the entire time I was getting my tattoo, great Guy. I would recommend Port City for sure!

I just got my first tattoo at Port City LB on 3/18/20 & I could not be happier! Ernie is an amazing artist, he was very friendly & helped me get past the nerves of it all. The price was way cheaper than expected for a piece the size of mine & it took less than 2 hours. For sure gonna have to come back for some additions in the near future!

I had a back piece done here to honor my Father. I could not be more happy with the entire experience. As you can see by the reviews this place is the real deal but I wanted to share my experience and ad it to the many positive other ones. Found my forever tattoo shop! The shop was clean, organized and ran smooth from when I walked in to set up my appointment to when I walked out the door. I have three other family members that have gotten work done there by different artists and all of our tattoos are high quality. All of the artist there seemed nice but Erika, the tattoo artist that did mine, was so sweet and caring of what I wanted done. She listened to my idea of what I had wanted/what I didnt want and this beautiful piece is what she created. This is by far not my first tattoo and have been to quite a few different facilities across the U.S. but this is the last tattoo shop I will go to.

Just received my second tattoo from this place, this time it was with my brother to get a remembrance tattoo for our recently departed mother after a hard battle with cancer. They did an absolutely beautiful job, and I could not possibly love these any more. Fantastic artists here. So grateful for having these to remember her by. Walked in with a simple, small, tattoo idea all ready to go. Spent 10 minutes on the table (results were good) and was charged twice their minimum. About the same price as an hour. When I mentioned my issue with the price they were rude and insisted they charge by the peace and not the hour, while Im standing right next to the sign that says their hourly price. Do not recommend.

Walked in today and they were able to get me in quickly. Everyone was super laid back and easy to talk to. Not my first tattoo, but my largest Ive had done. Stephann did a beautiful drawing for me and did a great job executing on my skin. I will definetly be going back to see him again the next time I want a tattoo. He was easy to talk to and I felt very comfortable the entire time. Highly recommend!

After sifting through a few different google searches for the best shops in Orange County, I kept finding myself being drawn back to Port Citys website and their artists. I spent a lot of time in Wades portfolio, and called to ask about their appointments since I live in HB- I went in later that day to set one up, but I was able to be taken as a walk in- with Wade as my artist! This was only my second tattoo and I was very nervous/excited the whole time- Wade was awesome- he made conversation with my boyfriend and I and customized the design I brought in PERFECTLY. House min is $80, appointments require a $60 deposit, and I believe the hourly rate was $180. This guy is about 3 inches at its widest point and cost $200; wayyyyy better price and quality than a lot of the local shops I know! 10/10 service, I would 1000% recommend these guys- theyre my new go to! :)

I got this tattoo in August & it still looks amazing. I spent $160 for a pine tree which is two inches tall & roughly one inch wide.This is exactly what I wanted it to look like. It wasn’t very painful. (I’m not sure if that’s because I have a high pain tolerance, or if the artist knew how to make it less painful, or both.) I would definitely get a tattoo from here again.

Definitely a great place to go! The staff were all awesome- joking with us as soon as we walked in and made us (my friend and I) feel comfortable and at ease. It was a spur of the moment decision to go get the tattoos and we looked up the best place to go- and we were not disappointed!! When it comes time for another, Ill be heading back!

After accompanying my friend to get her tattoo here, I noticed how clean and professional the place was and how everyone who worked there were able to answer any concerns or questions we had. So today, I decided to get my very first tattoo with JD! I was nervous and pretty tense when the needle touched my skin, so it was completely my fault that the lines werent as clean. However, JD took the time to clean the lines up and it ended up looking better than the original image. So, everything worked out and Im glad I decided to go to Port City Tattoo. I highly recommend JD, especially if its your first time getting inked. He was very accommodating and was not intimidating and standoffish like most tattoo artists can be.

This was actually my first tattoo experience. I was a walk-in and was serviced in little to no time. I went in a little nervous but the atmosphere and my tattoo artist, JD, who was nice enough to take me before his appointment, made me feel super comfortable. Because my artist actually talked to me before the tattoo and got to know the reasons behind me getting the tattoo, he realized a small error I would have overlooked...which would have also been a permanent error if he had not noticed it. So I have to give a really good recommendation to this place. Clean and very professional! With very talented artists.

Cody assisted me with my tattoo and he was awesome ! First to make matters hard I was asking for a cover up, but he figured out how to give me the tattoo I wanted while getting rid of my old one. He applied the color ridiculously well and his line work is perfect. Thank you ! I walked away ecstatic. 😁✨

Ive been searching for someone I like, and will go to regularly, AND I DEFINITELY FOUND IT! If vibe and energy is important to you, this is your spot, and cole is your guy.

I went in for a hand tattoo that I figured would take about an hour, the guy told me $175 an hour and the piece would be $400 so I agreed and paid the $400 thinking it would take longer than expected. It ended up taking 55 min and was charged $400. The quality wasnt even shop quality and was charged for over 2 hours of work and not refunded anything. This location is a rip off and will take your money with not even feeling bad about it. I do not recommend to anyone.

From Utah- was in Cali for a few days and wanted to get a tattoo. My best friend and I got tattoos from Uzi at the shop in Long Beach. Great artist and great work on both our tattoos. Super professional staff. They played Pink Floyd The Wall while I got tatted.... super chill. Call ahead and set an appointment cuz theyre busy. A plus.

I wanted a Memorial tattoo in memory of my granny for her birthday in which is today. I screenshot tattoos and Google tattoo shops near me. I go and I greeted immediately and feel so comfortable. I show the picture to I have to DJ he said how him an hour to draw it out. Needless to say Im happy a d so pleases with my ink work and DJ he ROCKS REAL COOL GUY AND HIS SKILLS ARE MADE CRAZY. Staff was very friendly! Went in and told them I wanted a japanese style tattoo and the guy initially knew it was kanji! Once they got the tattoo drawn up it only took a few minutes to get on the table. Eric was quick and talkative which helped with the pain a bit 😁

My husband has been getting tattooed on by Tom Moser for a few years now (first when he was at Gold Rush in Costa Mesa and now at his own shop Port City Tattoo in Long Beach). He has gotten an entire back piece done (30+ hours) and now working on his sleeves (so far another 12+ hours put in) with Tom.Naturally when it came to my turn to get work done, I came to Tom Moser. I had a sentimental piece done on my forearm when my father passed away. Although it looked simple in nature, I am beyond pleased with the quality of the lines and ink. Ive gotten numerous compliments on it, both here in the US as well as when I travel outside the country. Recently I got another tattoo on my wrist done by another artist that works at Port City Tattoo, Jack Mauk. This one turned out very crisp and clean, his line work is very steady and hes gentle on the needle. My tattoo healed in very minimal time.Ive had two really great experiences with two different artists at this shop, I absolutely recommend this shop to anyone whos interested in getting a tattoo.

My friend And I went into Port city to get small tattoos, My friend decided to get her tattoo but I had decided not to get the tattoo due to it being a very small tattoo for $150. The gentleman named Wade was very rude and told me not to be talking on my phone when I was not disrupting any customers and not near any customer,He then proceeded to mock m me trying to be sarcastic. Rude , lack of professionalism and not pleasant at all. He then is helping a customers pay , while discussing To the customer that I didn’t Want to pay 150 for a small tattoo and mimic and mock me using a high pitch female tone.I was going to get a Piercing but after seeing how rude he was And one other person that works there I didn’t want to spend my money. I’ll take my money elsewhere!

For a tattoo the size of my palm they charged 300 dollars and it took them only about 45 mins. Since than, Ive been to shops that would have done the same work for half that cost. Single color, simple design. I suggest you shop around a lot more.. this place is about as corporate as a tattoo shop can get and have the money and location to charge whatever they want.

Favorite place to go. Walk in or appointment. Every artist I’ve been with always hooks it up and are all really talented.

Jack is my dude, my friend Noel works there as a tattoo artist, and when I told him what I wanted, he referred me to jack. Noel could have took my money for a tattoo he wasnt an expert on, but he didnt, he lead me to the guy who knew about the subject i wanted done, very honest and humble for an artist to pass up work like that for the good of the customer. super clean tattoos, light hand and an expert in many fields. he was the only person I spoke to who knew who fudo mayo o was. that was the initial tattoo idea after digging into the history of esoteric shingon Buddhism. very pleased

I tried to get a small tattoo, and they tried to say it’s 300 for a small tattoo. Which is insane. For 2 words… then i try to say how about one word they si I’ll saying it’s the same price like how. Seem like they didn’t even wanna do my tattoo. Didn’t seem wanted tbh. Wouldn’t recommend. I have a small Tattoos tha cost 50-85$ how yu get 300$. They are very money hungry and the fact they art quality not even good to go to and all i wanted was a word lol.

I have been getting my work from Tom Moser since back in his Gold Rush days. I was surprised when he ventured out and opened up his own shop, but of course I had to get in contact and check out what he had going on. Nothing short of amazing! The shop is clean and located in a great section of town. He has a group of great artists under his umbrella at this shop. After an amazing back piece (Koi fish) I had to have him complete more work with a traditional Horimono (彫り物, 彫物). Now this is a lot of work and I would never get it done unless I was comfortable with the artist and his crew, after all I will be spending lots of time here. With the tattoo craze peaking, its important to know that this is not the run of the mill tattoo pick and stick shop. Tom and his crew are amongst the best I have interviewed and worked with. You do not feel like youre committing a business transaction, more like your embarking on an amazing journey amongst friends. If youre looking for some awesome traditional, Japanese, or custom work check Port City out. You wont be sorry! I am 1/2 way done with my sleeve and already working with Tom on the second sleeve.

Just left after seeing consultations outside in the parking lot with no masks. I asked about masks. He said inside only. Said I had concerns. Guy said: “If you’re concerned about COVID, I’d go somewhere else.” Not some spurned customer, I got a tattoo here years ago and love it. But this isn’t cool. I will go somewhere else.

Very nice and clean establishment. You walk in and the waiting area is clean, roomy and comfortable. I love how you have to wait to go in the back with your own artist. Keeps the establishment well organized. They have partys too , thats awesome. Great music.

This was my 1st tattoo by Damien King and it was great! It only took around 33 minutes and had little to no pain. I will definitely get another tattoo from Port city!
