American Tattoo & Body Piercing

Ivy Phillips is amazing. I called at noon asking about walk-ins, she said, first come first serve. I arrived there at approximately 3:30PM on a Friday, she sketched up exactly what I asked for and started the session at about 4PM. I had gone to another shop prior and they quoted me $120 for ONE FINGER & $120 for a 2inch by 2 inch wrist tat (I wont mention names but they are on 108th & Q) I had mentioned this to Ivy & asked how big she could do it for their shop minimum which is $80. She made it as big as she could which was extremely generous I thought! The session was amazing, we chit chatted and such during. I DEFINITELY will be back. I am 1000% satisfied with my tat!

Ive gotten 2 tattoos from Eric and just got a tattoo done by Ian. I absolutely love their work, and they are both very friendly. Ivy is also incredibly friendly and fun to talk to, and was there during all my tattoo appointments. This is honestly where I plan to go for all my future tattoos.

Aaron was fabulous. I gave him two tattoo designs & they both look exactly like I wanted. Definitely will have him do my next one.

Walked in and Ivy made my tattoo from a Mothers Day card from the past. Same day ink. Its PERFECT!! I LOVE it!! Thank you Ivy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ill be back for my next tattoo!!

Got my hiney tattoo here by Ian as a walk in. It came out great and although it isnt the exact design I had planned on, I like this one a lot better

Great service, the bedside manner was better than most surgeons I work with and they truely care about your wellbeing. My nose piercing is rather small so every time it comes off I need help and they are always willing to help usually at a moments notice (but still call ahead)

Ian is great person to work with when you are new to getting work done. He understands and listens to you, His work is amazing and he puts his whole heart into each session. I have had a great experience with this shop. Thank you Ian for bringing my wants and designs to real life and putting them to such a high level of appreciation.

Very good service. Polite people and very fine artists. If its your first or 20th tattoo come here and you wont be disappointed. No idea on the perceiving part but it they even half has good as they are with art then your in good hands.

I wanted a tattoo for an idea I had and didn’t know where to go so I found American tattoo by googling it. The service was great from start to finish. I booked with Eric and he did exactly what I wanted and helped with size and placement ideas. His apprentice Ivy was so nice and that made things even better! I will definitely be coming back to American and will recommend to others to go to them! Thank you guys for such an amazing experience!

I tried to explain a shallow concept of what I wanted to Eric. Im not the most artist person, so describing what I envisioned was a little difficult.Holy smokes. Dude took my idea and blew it up into a masterpiece. Its not even finished yet and Im already in love. If your tattoo design is anything horror film related, this is definitely your guy

Meatloaf was amazing. When I told him of my previous piercing experience (when I was 8 at a Claires store) about fainting and my vagus nerve overstimulation, he was very accommodating and understanding. I indeed got light headed, hot,sweaty, and almost completely passed out, he took great care of me, even got my friend inside to make sure I felt safe. He made sure I was good to go before I left the place. I love my new piercing and will go back for future ones. Its a safe place for ANYONE to get work done. 🥰

I came here a few years ago for my first cartilage piercing and the staff were and remain friendly and energetic! My first time, the piercer made a lot jokes that helped me feel at ease. I came back for more piercings and plan to come here to get some tattoos soon :) additionally they are very real/upfront with you about procedures, rules, etc. highly recommendUpdate: For the pandemic, I had to schedule an appointment for they were only allowing those with appointments only in. Since the changes with the CDC, I’m not sure it’s it the same or not.

I went to have my nose piercing, that meatloaf did, checked, then if possible, change out the ring. I called ahead, was able to get in quickly, he checked it, I picked out a new ring. Cost was alot less than I had expected. I did tip, he did a service for me, always excellent customer service. Ive had meatloaf do ALL of my body piercings, never an issue. I HIGHLY recommend him for any type of piercing!

I got my rook pierced by meatloaf. He was very personable & kept me laughing. He did a great job! The process was fast & pretty painless. I am very happy with my piercing and the experience! He even changed my previous piercing hoop on the house. I highly recommend American Tattoo!

Made appointment Feb 1st with deposit. Appointment was cancelled by Artist last minute April 15th. Attempted to reschedule 2 times with no response. Decided to get tattoo at another shop. Called to get deposit refunded, but refused to refund me. Unprofessional.

They are always so knowledgeable and make you feel so comfortable while doing something that some might find scary! Meatloaf was and always wonderful. Even got some tips on my other piercings and got another excuse to come back. I have got all my piercings done here and for good reason!

Hands down one of the best shops Ive ever been to. Eric was absolutely awesome to work with. The entire staff is super easy to talk to and very professional. Definitely will go back!

Ive been to Eric for four tattoos so far and love them all. Hes quiet, but he gets it. He is very talented, hes like an artistic therapist. Anytime Im asked I tell my friends to go to him. He just completed a gorgeous tribal band for my friend and now hes got another new fan. Ill always have him as my artist.

Called ahead to see if they accept walk-in tattoos and piercings and arrived shortly after. Was kept outside in below freezing weather just to talk to an artist. Wasn’t allowed in the building THEN was informed they only allow 1 person per artist and require masks. No issues with complying with masks, but there was absolutely no communication or professionalism from American Tattoo to notify new customers of any policies prior to commuting to their establishment. Don’t recommend.

Went here years ago to get my first 2 tattoos and went here again yesterday to revisit after having quite the year and in need of some tattoo therapy. Very friendly fun group of people! Donny did my first 2 and ended up doing my third and he is a wonderful guy! Listens to whatever you feel you want and does great work!! Would recommend to anyone!

Meatloaf was a great piercer and very pleasant company!! The business is also small, and they only allow the customer (no additional bodies) into the store, which made me less worried about Covid19.I would certainly recommend.Update, the ball fell off of my nose piercing and they replaced it for free. Im getting a tattoo drawn up and Im excited to go back to their business. Great people.

Donald Bless is a kind hearted, hard working guy. I was in and out in less than an hour, he made sure that I let him know if I was in pain or needed a break. This was a meaningful tattoo to my husband and I. He really worked with me on the price which was much appreciated after talking to several other shops in town. With Donald Bless you will have clean, sleek lines, a beautiful piece of art and probably a friendly conversation. I have nothing bad to say about this trip to American Tattoo. Especially after being told it had to be done larger by a rude/condescending guy at Dr. Jacks that said he wouldnt touch it for $80. Donald did it for $60. Ive never had a bad experience there until today and will definitely be keeping my business at American from now on. You guys are truly the best. Thank you, again!

Had my tragus pierced here by Meatloaf - he did a wonderful job. In fact I went back the day after because I decided I wanted it on the other ear so he removed the original piercing and pierced the other ear, and offered to do it for free since I had changed my mind. He is both professional and personable; I will definitely go back for further piercings when the mood strikes again! This is the third body piercing shop I have been to for a piercing in Omaha and by far the best experience.

Woke up determined to get a tattoo, i only had my idea kind of half fleshed out, and didnt even know exactly where I wanted to put it. being moderately tattooed anyway, congruence is also a concern. walked in and Jess patiently listened and helped me to decide on what worked best with what I already have. shes brilliant, the shop is clean and professionally run and I will 100% be back.

I cant give this shop 5 stars. 4 is stretching it. If you call and ask a simple question such as pricing in regards to a simple piercing, they tell you to come in. It feels like you are calling a used car lot. Im not calling to haggle a price, I just want to know what it is and they dont have it posted anywhere that I have found online.Meatloaf has done a few piercings on me and I will say he is amazing. He is the only person there that has been genuinely nice (and I am pretty low maintenance as it is). He is the reason I gave the shop 4 stars and he even deserves 5.I have seen many reviews in regards to Asa and his tattoo work. I am assuming he has changed quite a bit in the past 8 years, which is when I got a tattoo from him. I got a simple star and after he placed the stencil it wasnt placed where I wanted it so I asked him if he could move it to where I wanted it. He did it, but got mad at me for asking, and placed it in almost the exact same spot. When I told him it still wasnt placed where I asked he argued with me and asked me if I wanted the tattoo or not. I was young and dumb and just said okay. This tattoo is going to be on me for LIFE and I cant say I am 100% satisfied with the placement. I should have said no and gone to someone else. So, in my experience I can say I dont recommend him, but please keep in mind that my experience with him was close to a decade ago. He has clearly had plenty of more experience and is still at the shop, so he must not be practicing the same as he was before.

I came to this shop hoping to buy some proper and quality nose jewelry for my irritated nose piercing. The man was really helpful and nice. He gave me some great advice on properly cleaning my piercing he also gave me a discount on the already affordable quality jewelry. I would highly recommend coming here.

Just got my nose pierced here! The piercer was very friendly and talked me through the whole process. He told me everything he was going to do and made me feel comfortable. I chose this place because they do nose rings. I’m very happy with my piercing!

Eric Z just did a gorgeous piece for me (will try to come back and post pic when heals), I am absolutely thrilled with how well it came out. He was knowledgeable and able to answer questions in a way I could easily understand. I really appreciate that he did not force constant conversation, I always find small talk uncomfortable. I will be going back, and I will be taking others. Almost as awesome as a room full of puppies.

Since he never reads his reviews, he won’t see this, but meatloaf is the man to go to for a piercing!! my daith piercing was super quick and he was so personable and hilarious. a great all-around experience!! going back soon!

Eric is awesome. Completely fixed a tattoo I had done by someone else. I could not be happier. I have had a few tattoos done here before, always with great results. I will never go anywhere else to get a tattoo or piercing. Highly recommended!

I was nervous when I walked in, the guys there really helped by talking to me. When the piercing was done I wasn’t feeling the best and they helped me out so much! I absolutely love my nose piercing and definitely recommend them!

I have gotten most of my piercings here and meatloaf and the other piercer is always super kind and friendly and has helped me with aftercare without charging me . Only complaint is that when the piercers arent there the other staff is very rude. Last time I went in i stepped up to the front counter and one of the artists just stared at me. I said I was looking for a piercer and whoever it was just said in a voice like I pissed him off Piercer not here. Saturday.

My friend and I came here last minute on a girls trip and got amazing service and tattoos, ivy was so fun and did amazing work!

All my ink has come from here. For the last 15 years Ive brought so many first timers here for tattoos or piercings and the staff have all been really cool and great about making you feel comfortable. No matter who works on you here you can rest assured that theyre professionals at the top of their game.

Ive been going here to see Meatloaf for my piercings since I was 16 (15+ years), I even brang my kid here! Eric has done my last couple of tattoos, and hes just awesome! My daughter also had Eric do her first tatt, he never fails, the tatts always look awesome! Professional, clean, and they always do a great job!

Got my septum and nosed pierced here. Meatloaf is great and has a wonderful memory lol. Shop is clean and welcoming. I’m getting my philtrum pierced soon and he’ll probably be the guy to do it.

Went with the wife for her first tattoo. Eric did it and she loves it! Weve been back several times since then. Strong recommend.

I wouldnt trust my skin to any other place in Omaha! Just last month Asa, then Ben a couple of days ago, gave me exactly what I wanted (I had brought my own designs). My daughter and I have been coming here for years and we have always been greeted and treated in a friendly, courteous and professional manner and saw other customers being treated the same way. If I had one quibble ... the waiting area chairs are a bit hard and uncomfortable :)

This shop has been my go-to place for tattoos and piercings for many years. They take great care of you and you feel right at home. I would not hesitate to suggest anyone go here! Love it!

Jessie was FANTASTIC. I felt very comfortable and she is someone I would want to be friends with. Im in admiration with my new tattoo, and Ive already received several compliments on it and Ive had for about 2 and a half hours now, and yes, I did promote it. I will be returning.

While speaking with my friend waiting to get my tattoo done. I spoke with her that I had a friend who did discount tattoos, while talking an older gentlemen working yelled at me and said “some of us need to make a living”. I have no problem paying regular price was just having a PRIVATE conversation with her and he was offended. Then as I got a tattoo from the young man there he smelt like a dead body that has been rolled around in a pig ring. Not only was the older gentlemen rude. The tattoo artist smelt terrible!!! STAY AWAY!!!!

I was unhappy with my piercing and instead of charging me to fix it Meatloaf was very friendly and is definitely about pleasing his customers. I plan on coming back for a few more piercings and bringing some friends!! Keep rocking!!!

I have been to American tattoo for a few pieces on my arm. Dan is a good artist but the shop is negatively influenced by the loud mouth receptionists. they continually argued with me about the size and placement of the design even though the artist had already cleared it. As well as asking where I got my previous tattoos and picked at the knees of the other shops because they werent american tattoo. I would recommend visiting another tattoo shop who will work with you on the permanent design on YOUR body to fit what you envision it as, not to change it to what they think would look good.

Awful experience, had to wait for 2 1/2 hours for a tattoo when there was only one other person in front of us. The guys constantly walked in and out, didnt acknowledged us . Their attitudes were awful, Meatloaf was cussing the whole time, the other tattoo artists just didnt seem pleased to be there. I would never recommend this shop to anyone.

Like the tattoo i got but my artist was a total douche with no regard to my feelings. Donny i believe or something similar. It was my first tattoo so i was nervous about placement and asked if it needed to be moved a bit to the left or right and his response was i dont care you have to wear it forever not me. Doesnt seem like a business where if i come to someone about a complaint that theyd even care. Unprofessional. NEVER going back.

Got a tattoo in November 16 of 2016 it was a knife with a eagle head on handle also with a banner running across it for my buddy who was like a brother. He was very important to me he was killed in a car crash on 370. This was my very first tattoo at age 17. It was special so I wanted it perfect. Donald Bless was the one who did my tattoo and it was horrible. First off if ur pissed because u didnt check the age on the license noticing I was a minor so I needed to do paper work thats his fault. I did paperwork got it notarized and came back he was piss said whatever and get in the chair so we can get this done. Got done with tattoo after it healed I noticed lines ran together that were not supposed to and not just that two months later the lines are faded now I know its supposed to fade but I have patches of lines faded and parts of lines are thicker than the other. Donald Bless did a horrible job I will not go back and I will not let any friends or family either they took little over 250 and than I put 100 deposit for color but never went in Im sorry but I want it fixed but wont go back and if I could get my money back I would.

Horrible place to get a piercing. I informed the piercer I was allergic to nickel and he still put stainless steel in my ear which contains nickel and he also pierced my daith in the wrong location. It became infected I had to take it out and once it heals I will have to go somewhere else and have it repierced costing me more money

I called to see if there was any availabilities. The guy that answered the phone was very rude he said you would have to come and talk to the artist I said I understand I tried giving him idea what I wanted he said youd still have to come and talk to the artist I said is the artist available right now he said no I said so then there is no availabilities then and he said well I guess not SMH could have just said that from the get-go instead of wasting my time

This place is very rude and unprofessional, i got my nose pierced here and they charged me 10$ extra for a hoop piercing, got infected within 2 days after telling me to clean it with dial soap, went back they were rude about it and told me it was fine and not infected and there was nothing they could do about it, went to another place and they told me it needed to be removed immediately and they removed it for me for free and offered to pierce it when it’s healed for free.

My tattoo looks great from Eric. Had fun conversing for a couple hours definitely a good experience and I will go again
