Freedom Ink Tattoos

After a lifetime of saying “never, not me” I had a YOLO moment when my girls and our wonderful Peoria friend decided to get matching humming bird tattoos to commemorate our trip (we’re from the UK). I figured the time was right and decided to join them. Terry was great. Gave me every chance to back out, talked me through the whole thing, started with the little lines to get me used to it before going for the longer ones. I was fascinated and watched the whole thing. The pain was negligible and now, 3 weeks later I still love my little bird, and he is perfectly done with clear and graceful lines.The place itself was very hygienic and you could tell they take their business seriously. The guys themselves were respectful and just lovely, and made the whole thing an unforgettable experience. Thanks!(Still not getting another though 😁)

I went in with my sister as a walk-in, and Sam was AMAZING! Not only did he draw up an original for me—It was my fourth tattoo, however it was behind my ear and I was a little nervous. He was very reassuring and by the time he got started on the tattoo I realized I had nothing to worry about! I’m beyond grateful for the results, I love it! An amazing 21st bday experience. I will definitely be coming back for my next tatty 🥰

The tattoo I just got done here was my second-ever tattoo and my first one here. The artist, Zach, did a few iterations of my idea and was happy to change a few things when I realized, I know I said (this), but I think I mean (that).I was intimidated going in because I thought I might feel like a rookie. (My first tattoo was ages ago.) No need to worry. The staff answered all my questions politely and fully, and they were fun to talk to during the tattoo.Everything looked super clean, like a nice dentists office level of hygiene and tidiness. Much cooler wall art and relaxed atmosphere than at the dentist tho.The tattoo is healing well and I love it, wouldnt change a thing.

This place deserves zero stars for their company policy. I received two gift certificates last Christmas for 100 and 55 dollars. I tried to go redeem these gift certificates and get a tattoo on December 22nd. The gift cards were purchased on 11/26/22 and 12/16/22 and they now have lost 75 percent of value! Worth a 25$ and 8.75$It’s Christmas season, they have been given hard earned money and would rather steal value of the gift for themselves!! This is the way these people conduct business! That’s awful!

Freedom Ink is one of the best shops I’ve ever been in. Super clean, top notch friendly staff, great atmosphere. I drive 2 hours south to get tattooed by Tim Beck and I know every other artist there is just as talented. Make this your first choice for a tattoo in Peoria, you won’t be disappointed.

Is he a wizard or a tattoo artist? Nobody really knows. I gave Tim Beck a tricky idea in an even tougher spot and he managed to pull of this beautiful piece as an homage to my pets that are more important to me than anything. I sat in the chair maybe 10 minutes and the dude was takin pics and throwin a glove on me, half the time he was mixing colors. He’s the Ricky Bobby of tattooing.

Tim is an amazing artist and a genuinely nice guy! It was my first tattoo with Freedom ink and will def not be my last! We couldnt have been anymore please with cleanliness and the atmosphere of his shop. I will be highly recommending them!!

I was a walk in with a quote I held onto for 30+ years. What a great experience I had with your shop. Im older with only 1 other tattoo. Isaac greeted me with respect and friendliness! He took a picture of my quote I was so grateful he didnt delete it after I left. I lost it after I left the shop. Thank goodness for Isaac! Zack did my tattoo a few days later! Zach was awesome! He too was respectful, friendly, meticulous! He listened to what I was asking for. I am very pleased! Thank you Zach!

Im beyond thrilled with this! Tim Beck is an exceptional artist. He is incredibly professional and his kind demeanor put me at ease. All employees were extremely kind and helpful, and the shop itself is immaculate and upscale!

My visit to Freedom Ink was amazing. From the moment I walked in to the shop I was impressed. They have a large reception area with an incredible array of art and you will immediately notice that the place is spotless! I had an appointment with Tim and when I arrived he had my artwork ready and we got right to work. My piece is nothing short of spectacular, Tim is a master of the american traditional style, and Im so glad I found him. Before I left, I made an appointment for my next session and Im really looking forward to it!

Top-notch staff, facility and experience. From my initial discussions and booking with Terrance (who was awesome) to getting a killer design and of course the beautiful work by Evangelos Makris! The shop had a loose comfortable vibe, great music playing and Tims decor is on point. Then getting a follow-up call to ensure it was healing ok and see if I had any questions...great customer service. This was my second work done there and Ill definitely go back when Im ready for more.

Saw Tim for my first tattoo. Tim did an awesome job with a custom sketch. Extremely professional and super fast. Will definitely return for any and all work. Highly recommend if you are in the area or in my case a four hour drive away, definitly worth the drive to get an amazing tattoo.

My 5 tattoos have all been at Freedom Ink. The shop is so clean and gives such a great funky vibe. The Tattoo artists are thorough and so talented.I highly recommend making an appointment. Tim Beck is an amazing artist and a complete profesional. My family bought me gift certificates for Freedom Ink for my birthday because I have talked about a design that I wanted for a long time. I had spoken with Tim about it over the course of a couple of years whenever my wife or son was in getting work done. We scheduled the appointment and gave Tim the ideas I had and the focal points I wanted. Included what the tattoo meant to me and from that he nailed it. I would not have wanted this done by anyone else because it would have fallen short of what I envisioned. Truly the best at what he does.As always, the shop has a great vide, art work all over the walls to give you ideas. Very patriotic and supportive of first responders and military/vets. The music is great the staff and all the other artist are awesome. They support each other by coming over and looking at how the work. Great place. Could not recommend a better shop or artist. About a year prior to walking into Freedom Ink, someone really special designed me a tattoo. Found myself back in the Peoria area and wanted to find the best artist available to do the work I wanted. Researched heavily and everywhere online and offline pointed to Tim Becks shop. Thats who I chose.Walking into the shop, it felt perfect. Wonderfully decorated. Great atmosphere. The shop is super clean and everyone was friendly.My original design had a lot going on and I knew it would have to be altered some to make it more tattooable. From step one, Tim was upfront and honest about what would work and what wouldnt.I put my trust in his vision and expertise. He took every single aspect of what I needed from the original design and in about 20 minutes had a tattoo drawn up for me. He suggested colors that would compliment each other as well as my skin tone and he was right on. I was absolutely floored. It was perfect and I was all in.Tim was personable and cool to talk with as he started working. Hes serious and professional about the work he does. The other artists in the shop were obviously having a great time working with their clients near us. Talking and joking. It was a fun atmosphere.My tattoo takes up the entire length of the inside of my forearm, included several different colors and some really intricate shading and detail. From start to finish it took about an hour and half. Hes fast and his work is absolutely incredible.I dont understand how Tim sees what he sees and does what he does but I know Im glad I chose him.He has a brilliant gift and I wont go anywhere else. From my experience, if you want the best, its Freedom Ink, period.

I waited 4 months for Tim Beck to create a tattoo for me. He was booked up. But Ive heard nothing but good things about him and this tattoo meant a lot to me. It was definitely worth the wait! I absolutely love my ink everytime I look at it! I knew what i wanted in my mind. I just needed someone to draw it up for me. NAILED IT! Oh ya, and he also inked it up super fast. The guy at the front desk is awesome! I dont know how you could be in a bad mood around him. So social and cheerful. He definitely Makes you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. Nothing here other than the utmost professionalism being projected by the entire staff all the way through.It was my first tattoo in almost 20 years and I was extremely unsure of my design I picked or placement, the artists helped size it appropriately for my body size and the location I wanted it. A short time later I was walking out the door with a brand new tattoo that I absolutely love! I have since scheduled 4 more sessions with that artist and a couple more with another local artist there!This shop also has some super exclusive guest artists that drop through from time to time so I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for those guys to come in as well!Keep up the great work Freedom Ink Tattoos!And thank you again for the awesome ink!

I got my first tattoo by Tim Beck back in December and it was by far the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. He was very professional and worked very quickly. This was not my first tattoo, but it was my first tattoo at Freedom Ink. On a whim, I made the drive to Peoria for a GWYG tattoo, and the experience exceeded all expectations. The staff was super friendly and they make you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The shop was super clean, and it has a really cool atmosphere. But the best part of the entire trip was I was actually able to get my tattoo done by Tim Beck himself (I’m pretty sure that doesn’t happen all the time). From the placement of the stencil, to laying down the ink, he is an absolute tattoo master. I will definitely be scheduling an appointment with him to get some more work done.

I was tattooed by Tim Beck in July. The shop is amazing. It’s clean, there’s a lot of cool original artwork and it’s in a beautiful area of Peoria right by the river.Tim is very nice and professional. He’s a great artist who is good at every style of tattoo. I would recommend him to anyone for any style of tattoo. He absolutely killed my Jumpman embroidery style tattoo! If you need a tattoo look no farther than Freedom Ink and especially Tim Beck. The shop is amazingly clean and they play some awesome music. Tim did a sweet traditionalist eagle that he designed for me on my upper left arm. During the whole time Tim was tattooing we were able to talk about anything under the sun. I was able to meet some of the other artists in the shop and they were all extremely friendly and seemed to be VERY talented. If you are going to get a piece of art on your body that is permanent dont go cheap on price, Freedom Ink is worth the price and the atmosphere is awesome.

Finally decided to get my first tattoo and all I can say is I was wowed by the whole experience! From getting my appointment to the finishing touches I felt such an inviting atmosphere and enthusiasm for the art. Mr. Kyle was very kind in explaining the process even though I didnt have a clue what I was getting myself into! He got me in for an appointment that week and even went the extra mile to honor my request to have a female tattoo artist do my tattoo since I was a bit shy about placement exposure. Ms. Tess went above and beyond to make sure not only that my tattoo was absolutely perfect but also that the whole experience of getting my first tattoo was pleasantly memorable. She cleaned up the design to make it look flawless, walked me through every step of the process, and set up a privacy screen for me so I would feel comfortable. Not only did she perfect the design, she was SO patient in helping me find the perfect placement no matter how many times it took moving the stencil a smidgen to the right or to the left...and believe me there were quite a bit of those! You could definitely tell that all the tattoo artists make cleanliness a very high priority and want to do everything they can to make sure you are completely thrilled with your new artwork. I was super nervous and shy about getting my first tattoo but after the experience at Freedom Ink Im already planning my second one! Worth every penny!

Zack did a great job on a very sentimental piece for both my wife and me. Clean shop with a great vibe. Price was above average but you get what you pay for. Cheap tattoos are not good and good tattoos are not cheap. Absolutely recommend them for your tats.

This is by and far the best tattoo shop I have ever visited. The shop was extremely clean and the decor was awesome. I went in with a rough idea of what I wanted, because I have no artistic talent and Tim Beck was able to draw something for me that was perfect. There was no pressure and he made sure that it was perfect before we even got started. I was blown away with the tattoo when it was finished. They gave great advice on after care and even did a call back the next day to make sure everything was going perfect!! I will definitely be going back and it wont be soon enough. My friend and I had an amazing experience! They were all super friendly and very helpful. The place was clean and super cool. My artist was Tim, he finished my tattoo in 15 min and I felt no pain. His artwork is amazing too! My friend had Travis, he was also super nice and the elephant he drew was perfect! I visited every shop I could find and when I entered this shop I was sold instantly. I’ve been getting ink done once a month for the last year. It’s a relaxed, aesthetic and clean environment. The artists are professionally trained by Tim Beck, an amazing artist and tattooer, and very adept at their craft. I’ve been inked by two artists there and will get one from each artist as a way to show my support, but Tess is my go to artist. She’s versatile, easy going and she’s honest with me when I bring in something that doesn’t flow well with what I have. A true professional. I’m looking forward to all the tattoos I’ll be getting in the coming years.

Words are not enough to describe this shop, it’s artists, and the atmosphere. Very clean! Jeremy worked me in as a walk-in and I couldn’t be happier with his pleasant attitude and professionalism. Meeting the legendary Tim Beck was a huge coincidence in my case as I picked this shop because they could fit me in. Now the weird part.....I’ve followed Blue October since Argue with a tree album came out and certainly know Tim Beck tattoos thanks to the band. Once two and two were put together I was elated to be in this shop for more obvious reasons. I’ve debated for 3 years the classic heart that Justin Furstenfeld has on his neck and now I’m in the shop getting a completely different tattoo. With that being said my wait will be over in two weeks as I would be honored to have this shop put that on me. Tim, thanks for taking time to converse with me (the autographed flash poster will be framed). Jeremy your work today was awesome and in two weeks you can do it again I recommend this shop NOT because of Blue October. That is a personal preference of mine. I recommend it because these guys are spectacular artists both flash and custom, easy to talk to, and detail oriented. Thanks again Freedom Ink, Tim and Jeremy.

I recieved the sickest, most well done tattoo Ive ever seen by Tim Beck. Not only was he obviously skilled in his craft, he was clean and professional. The staff was super friendly and they make you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The shop was super clean (one of the girls was even wiping off the leaves on a plant when I showed up 🙂). I enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be returning. Im proud to have this tattoo on my body and even have friends who are jealous I have a tattoo by thee Tim Beck. Dude was like Edward Scissorhands but with a needle. Purely magical .

Soooooo...I think this studio and the owner are self absorbed thieves. I purchased a gift certificate for a Christmas gift last year on December 16th of 2022. The person went in there to use it yesterday on the 22th of December 2023. They were told it had expired and lost it value because a year had gone by. Well the gift card wasnt even gave until Christmas. To not honor this is complete unprofessional business. I guess they like taking hard earned money from people. Your shop is NOT celebrity owned actually your a JOKE! KARMA ON YOU✌️

Amazing. Not sure theres any other way to describe it. From the building which is modern, artistic, rustic, retro...to the front staff, to the artists, everything was amazing. Its so professional, clean, and inviting. Tim Beck did my work, and just from a few pictures taken right after, Ive received the most incredible comments. Many have said its the best work theyve seen. I would agree. I couldnt be happier. Had many tattoos before, Im disappointed this is my first from Tim. He was personable and appreciated how important this particular tatoo was to me. I cant wait to go back. Thank you guys for such an AMAZING experience.

I got my first tattoo from Tim about a month ago. I was pretty picky about what I wanted, but Tim worked with me and redrew it twice and I couldnt be happier with the final product! Although I was nervous, the shop is so clean and professional that it put me at ease and I knew I made the right decision. Highly recommend Freedom Ink for tattoos, especially your first. They know what theyre doing and youll never doubt the quality youre gonna get.

I got my first tattoo done by Tim a few days ago and Im still obsessing over how awesome it turned out. I gave him my idea and he RAN with it. When he showed me I fell in love immediately because he captured exactly what I was wanting (a Pumpkin with a Halloween theme). He made me feel super comfortable while getting it and it didnt take long at all. I will go to Tim for all of my tattoos. I would also feel comfortable going to anyone in the shop because they were all so incredibly nice and talented and you could tell they loved what they do.

I had decided on a particular tattoo several weeks ago, and after asking advice from friends, they recommended Tim Beck at Freedom Ink. It was admittedly a very difficult skill level tattoo, and I was willing to pay more to have someone who could do it right. Tim was the perfect guy for the job! The tattoo couldnt have turned out better. This was my second tattoo at Freedom Ink (Zach did the other one and its awesome as well). This is the only place Ill go for tattoos. The guys are professional, helpful, and the place is as clean as it gets. Id recommend them to anyone!

Super unhappy with this shop. Was going to get my first tattoo and got quoted a price. Waited a month for the appointment and they (zach) added $$$ to the price last minute. They wanted $700 for a tattoo that takes an hour. Unreal business practice for a place that has good reviews. Went to Mojo studios and they said they’d do it for $250.

This place is awesome! I wanted a tattoo of my daughters name and what Tim drew up was beautiful. The color, size, and shading was perfect. I went to Freedom Ink. Tattoos a few months ago for my first tattoo. The shop was very welcoming and clean. Tim Beck did my tattoo and I was extremely happy with it. I just gave him an idea of what I wanted in a quote and he made it into something amazing. I was pretty nervous for my first tattoo but he made me very comfortable and it hardly hurt at all! I contacted the shop regarding a sleeve I want to get done. I got connected with Jason Parker to do the first (of many) tattoo for my sleeve. It’s one I have been wanting a long time and I was a bit nervous. I asked a lot of questions and they were happy to answer them. The day of my tattoo I felt at ease. The shop is pretty awesome and everyone was super friendly. The artists all had a familial feel and it was an overall great experience. Jason did an excellent job on my tattoo. It was better than what I had imagined and I am looking forward to booking many more appointments with Jason at Freedom Ink. I highly recommend any of the artists here!!

Ive gotten 2 tattoos at Freedom Ink in the last 2 months and couldnt be happier with the experience. The facility is beautiful, spacious and very clean! Traveled over 4 hours & our experience was worth every minute of travel time. I was tattooed by Tim Beck, my son’s girlfriend tattooed by Alli Davis. Both were excellent!! Tim has a beautiful clean shop here. He is an old school artist, who has been doing tats for 25 years. As with all nationally known ink artists his rate is not cheap.Im glad I got to have some of his work. Keep in mind he is 3 months out on schedule at this time.

Came in for my first tattoo a few months ago and was completely astounded by the outcome. I was tattooed by Jeremy, and he did a phenomenal job. I got my last tattoo more than a year ago (maybe 2?) as covid restrictions started to lift. Sam Lott (aka Red Grizzly) was my artist. While the subject of my tattoo looks good (a beetle), he was way too rough, resulting in significant bruising that I thought would fade with time. Well sadly, it wont. I consulted other tattoo artists and eventually an MD and all said this was a blowout and that I would either need laser removal or just to cover it. It looks terrible. It makes me sad and embarrassed of my arm. When contacting Freedom Ink with my concerns, I was continually brushed off with excuses like it happens all the time and just massage it out. I didnt appreciate the dismissal, lack of accountability, and no offer to make it right. There are a lot of great artists around the area, save yourself permanent regret (and likely money too) by NOT choosing Freedom Ink. This snobby crew thinks they can do no wrong.

I went in to Freedom Ink today with my wife who has had a few tattoos. This was only my second tattoo and I had grand ideas with size, but the tattoo itself, I only had a basic concept with the meaning I wanted it to portray. It took very little time for Tim Beck to understand what I wanted and then to give me something so far beyond my expectations while still capturing the meaning I wanted to portray. This is the difference between someone that just tattoos and a true artist. The quality of work, the level of detail, the cleanliness of the shop. Due to company policy, two gift certificates totaling $155 are now valued at less than $30. They lose 75% of their value if not used within a year. one was purchased at the end of Nov 2022 and the other mid dec 2022 to be given as a Christmas present. 3 weeks too late. Such a poor way to run a business especially at a shop who price gouges their customers to begin with. I guess this is the legal way to steal from paying customers though. Sad, pathetic, and disheartening to say the very least.

I have had 4 tattoos done by Tim. He is a true artist and would not consider going to anyone else. Having finally reached a point in my life as to where I dont care what other people think, I, at age 46, got my first tattoo here, and it has since lead to 3 more! Jeremy has done each one, and his work is absolutely amazing. Ive only gotten work done by Jeremy, but Im up to I think 11 tattoos now. Each artist here is great. Through my time spent in Jeremys chair, Ive seen work be done by both Zach and Tim. I wouldnt go anywhere else, and I certainly wouldnt put as much trust into anyone else. Sometimes I go in having no idea what I will leave with that day, but I have loved every piece of art that was drawn to be put on me. Tattoos are a lifetime, people have to remember that with their increasing popularity, so people should be sure they are going to someone that is skilled and great at what they do.

My husband had an idea for a tribute tattoo for his brothers that were in his humvee when they were struck by an IED in Iraq. Tim Beck was able to take his general idea and came up with a very creative and detailed design. My husband loves it and so do his brothers that were with him that day. Drove 2 hours to see Tim Beck for my first tattoo. He was recommended by some friends and was absolutely worth the trip. Before I made the appointment, Tim took the time to explain his style vs. other tattoo styles and how tattoo art differs from art on paper. For someone like me, that kind of dialogue is critical. It shows how much he cares about his craft and about his patrons. And it is important to understand that something that looks good on paper doesnt always translate well on skin. If its not going to look good, hes going to tell you up front.When I got there, the place was classy and spotless with a really great vibe. He took a general idea I had and turned it into something truly amazing in short order. Very laid back, cool staff that knows their stuff and are really dedicated to the tradition. All of the artists are extremely talented and Parker did an amazing job on my last tattoo. I decided to get my first tattoo here because I liked Tims portfolio. I have zero complains about my new tattoo, I absolutely love it and the line work is pretty much perfect. However, the experience was awful. For 15 minutes of work @ 300$ I was expecting for my 15 minutes to be only mine. I got this tattoo to help heal and honor past wounds and I was in a meditative healing state and he had his next appointment chatting with him about her tattoo, interrupting my time and worst of all I was feeling her spit on my back and it was gross. Unfortunately this chat about the next clients tattoo went on the entire time. I basically know what his next clients tattoo is. The front desk girl was also in and out interrupting, but at least she was not standing over me and spitting while talking. But he did not let my sister sit with me. I guess its ok when the next client will also be paying 300$ or more for her tattoo. That is poor customer service and complete disregard towards the persons reason (s) for getting a tattoo.

Tremendous experience!! I highly recommend Freedom Ink for all your Tattoo needs in central Illinois. I came in with a tribal tat from 2013 from the shoulder to the elbow that was quoted at $1,000 and took 7 and 1/2 hours at another parlor in Peoria. I decided to complete this tat from the elbow to the wrist on both side of my forearm expecting the same price and time. To my surprise it was $500 and it was finished in less than 3 hours. Freedom Ink has a great atmosphere in the warehouse district and when taken back for my tat, I felt like I was in a clinic. Very clean and professional!! The only place I would ever go in the future will be Freedom Ink. The staff was very friendly and Tim the owner told me to come back 10 days after to see if my tat was healing properly or need touched up....WOW!!! Special shout out the the artist Zach Dole (Mad Skills) my friend....

I have had two tattoos done by Tim Beck and my wife one. This place is absolutely awesome, they do amazing work, the shop is clean and professional looking as can be and everyone that works there is laid back and nice as can be. Zach Dole did my tattoo about 2 weeks ago. Im all healed up now and LOVE it. He was super patient and open to my design ideas and requests and worked very hard to draw things just right. I went to Freedom Ink Tattoo in Peoria for my fifth tattoo. I have never been somewhere where such pride was given to the tattoo. The detail is incredible. Tim Beck has such a gentle touch, the pain was very bearable. I went in with some idea of what I wanted, but they delivered so much more than I expected. I have never been so happy with a tattoo before. I highly recommend Tim Beck and his team and whenever I need another tattoo, there is no question that I will go to Freedom Ink.

I’ve gotten tattoos done here before and I love their work. Great place. But a while back I went back three different times to try and get a “get what you get tattoo” and twice they’ve told me they’ll call me back and never did. Went back a third time and they eventually told me that since I’ve already gotten two gwyg tattoos that they can’t tattoo me anymore. They’ve wasted my time many times instead of telling me the first time.

Tim runs a great shop where they have excellent and friendly customer service, a very clean and sanitary environment, that is located right in the historic warehouse district of Peoria. I would recommend Freedom Ink to anyone asking for the right place to get a tattoo.

After about 10 years of wanting a tattoo, I finally pulled the trigger and got one. I cannot say enough about Tim Beck and his team at Freedom Ink Tattoos! I had a pretty good idea about what I wanted and Im sure Tim thought I was nuts but Tim created an original, beautiful piece of artwork that I proudly show off (which I didnt think I do) to friends, family, and co-workers. Tim talked me through the experience and I felt completely at ease in his hands. Tim is a rock star!

I got a tattoo from Tim about 12 years ago, and the work is SO good I sought him out now to let him know! He did an armband a few inches above my wrist, helping me turn a little doodle into a work of art. My band has some intricate lines and some thick black spaces, the lines are precise and theres no blotchiness in the thicker spots... it still looks as crisp and clean as it did over a decade ago!! I cant tell you how many times people have said to me, I dont normally like tattoos, but THAT is gorgeous! regarding Tims work :)If you are looking for a quality artist who can give you a tattoo that youll love as much years from now as the day you got it, I definitely recommend talking to him!!

Jason did an amazing job, not only was the tattoo beautiful but I sat and waited for her 3.5 hours of just amazing customer service by all the staff with every person that walked through the door. I was very disappointed with my most recent experience with Freedom Ink. I have been going to Tim and Freedom Ink for 12 years now. He did my first tattoo and 80% of all my tattoo work. I now live in Texas and wanted to add onto a half sleeve Tim did, so I called and set up an appointment in September inquiring around Christmas. The front desk person said he had an opening on December 24th first thing when the shop opens. I asked if he was sure they were open that day, as I expected them to be closed. He reassured me they were open. He then proceeded to ask Tim if it was okay I booked a double-time slot that day since I dont plan on coming back to Peoria often and they went ahead with the booking. Only after that was confirmed, I made travel arrangements to come back for the holidays based around this appointment. I was not planning a trip home without this tattoo appointment given the pandemic and additional cost of flying home. A little over two weeks before I was due to fly out, I get a call that they are in fact closed on Christmas Eve and the next available wasnt until after I was flying home. I asked if they could see about switching out someone elses appointment who was local, as I had done previously for someone else when I still lived in Peoria. Im not sure if that was attempted or not but Kai, a different front desk person than before, let me know that Tim would reach out and personally try to work this out. Tim never called me. In fact, I called the shop back four different times over the next week trying to get an answer. Tim did finally Facebook message me after a week of me calling the shop and said Id probably have to reschedule or refund. I asked if it was possible to come in before the shop opened at 11am on the 23rd since this was in no way my fault and I was coming from out of state for this appointment. That request wasnt even addressed. He just said Id have to cancel or reschedule. Kai was very understanding and sympathetic and honestly was the only thing that made this encounter bearable, but Tim lacked the professionalism and customer service that I expected from him. As a long-time, repeat customer who has referred countless people to not only his shop, but him personally, I felt like I was really left out to dry in this scenario. This was their mistake and they did nothing to fix it or make up for it. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Tim or his shop for any future tattoos, which is a bummer because he does great work. I just cant support someone who treats his customers like this, though.

I can always depend on Tim for a tattoo that I am 100% satisfied with. He always gives his opinion on what will and wont work on your body and placement of the tattoo. Everyone in the shop is very friendly and made me feel welcome all 3 times I have gone.

Amazing place! It was a great atmosphere and everyone was so chill to talk with. My tattoo was geometric and down my spine with crisp straight lines. Ill definitely be coming again for more tattoos in the future! Thank you, Tim!

Tim Beck did my first tattoo, which was a portrait of my brother and it was OUTSTANDING to say the absolute least. He does amazing work. The portrait of my brother means so much to me and i am continuously getting asked who did it and where and i always spread the word about tim at freedom because there isnt a better artist around here.

I have no regrets going here for my tattoo. They were able to get me an appointment quickly and in the same week as my first visit. The artist was professional and did everything he could to make me comfortable. The only issue was they decided to do some work on the wall or something while I was there. It was very loud and annoying. Didnt seem very professional to me but it didnt affect the quality of my tattoo.

On Wednesday 9/28/16 I took my wife to Freedom Ink to get a portrait tattoo of her sister. She had a picture of her and artist Tim Beck went to work duplicating photo on her upper left arm. It is UNBELIEVABLE, WOW! Not only is Tims work masterful his advise was priceless, such as...the best location, why no colors, just blk/gray will be best and my fav, why not to use dates/numbers/words with a portrait. His open knowledge of why gave my wife a great feeling of confidence in him and I could see it also relaxed her anxiety. After all, this event is not like she was having her nails done. Thank You Mr. Tim, Polly loves it and ALL who see it are amazed . Stop into Freedom Ink just to see the beautiful shop. Tattoo parlors (as they use to be called) have came along way, the atmosphere is very comfortable. I think Ill have Tim add some of his art and expression to my GOD given canvas in the near future.

As someone whom considers herself to be research-oriented and takes pride in making educated decisions when it comes to major purchases, I naturally did my homework when it came to selecting where I should get a tattoo that I have been wanting for quite some time. My favorite musician wrote out the first 12 words of the chorus of my favorite song of his, and I wanted to capture that in a tattoo. A very permanent consequence of a decision Ive been thinking about for quite some time- and I am so glad I chose Freedom Ink to make it official.Ill cut to the chase- Freedom Ink is the priciest tattoo joint in town. The old adage you get what you pay for has never rang truer to me than when I stepped foot into this place. The first thing you will notice about the shop is how CLEAN it is. You can tell Tim Beck takes pride in keeping his shop as clean and safe as possible for everyone (including your support system- that one person has stay seated on the couch while you get inked- rules are rules). I arrived for appointment yesterday morning, and as Jeremys first customer of the day, I had the privilege of watching how the stations were meticulously prepped and cleaned before he even arrived (the snow from the night before put everyone a bit behind).When I first met Jeremy, he made it very clear from the start that while he values his customers input, he also isnt afraid to let you know why he does or does not think your vision can be executed into a finished product you will be proud to show off forever. I originally wanted the tattoo placed on the left side of my lower back, but because the tattoo was of words in someones handwriting, he cautioned me about getting too many words that would eventually look distorted and jumbled together due the constant bending motion we all make every day. While I considered his advice, he drew up the sketch, and I finally decided I do want all 12 words on the back of my left shoulder.I asked Jeremy an insane number of questions about his experience, how he decided to become a tattoo artist, and what kind of medical training he receives- and he answered them all without hesitation and with an immense amount of confidence and dignity. The answer that stood out most to me is that he said you never stop learning when it comes to tattooing- ongoing education is key. Now thats someone that takes pride in his work!Before he started, Jeremy offered some words of advice on successfully enduring the process of a relatively difficult experience (I only have one other small tattoo on my left ankle) and encouraged me to ask any questions and to not be afraid to let him know when I needed a break to readjust my position or take some deep breaths. Turns out, it took him longer to draw up the sketch, discuss specifics, and come to a final decision than for him to do the tattoo itself! He made the entire experience such a fulfilling one that I never thought once about how I might regret this later. The finished product turned out better than I could have ever imagined.Long story short, there is no other place in town that can compete with the degree of professionalism exhibited by the staff at Freedom Ink. I never once felt uncomfortable or hesitant about my decision to get my tattoo, and Jeremy managed to strike an ideal balance of providing his professional opinion while listening to and considering my own thoughts on how I wanted my tattoo to turn out. While his advice did have some influence on the finished product, I ultimately felt like the decision was mine, and I am so proud of the latest display of my individuality. THANKS, GUYS! If I ever want another tattoo, I know who to call.

I emailed Freedom Ink about making an apoimoment with Zach. About 2 hours later I received an email back saying to call back to set an appointment. When I went in, Zach draw my tattoos up. And I was getting tattooed with in a hour of walking in. This is a great place to get traditional tattoos or just to look at their flash.

Just got my first real visible tattoo from Tim Beck. I went in with several examples of the look I was going for but hadnt really found exactly what I wanted; I merely had an idea in my head. I explained to Tim what I was looking for - he disappeared and minutes later came back with a drawing of what I had imagined all along. Amazing! A beautiful vintage rose chosen out of an old botanical print book. He suggested the colors and I went with it - trusted him completely. It turned out perfect - wonderfully detailed, fine lines, gorgeous color. Exactly what I wanted. Ill love it for years to come. Thank you Tim - Ill be back.....

Saw Tess for a custom tattoo. I had previously emailed the shop with several example photos and what kind of flowers I was wanting and everything about the size and color but she never got that information. She had many questions when I came for my scheduled appointment. I was disappointed she didn’t get any of the information I provided and nothing was drawn when I arrived. This was my first tattoo and not exactly what I expected.
