I just can’t compliment Kara Munro enough - for the professionalism, for her kindness, for her fantastic art and artistic approach, and for her friendship we built over the past year and a half. Her attention to detail, open mind and understanding shaped a one off tattoo into a full arm sleeve. I have received so many compliments on her work, and I am grateful I have the rest of my life to show off her artwork (and appreciate the art myself). Can’t wait to start the next piece! I went in for my first ever tattoo yesterday. It was a great experience with Kara. She was well prepared based on our consult and she had beautiful drafts and ideas that showed me she really cared to reflect what I was thinking. The de-mystified the tattoo experience for me. The mid-point progress (we just did the outline yesterday) is amazing. She took great care to explain the aftercare. I am so excited to come back in a few weeks for the filling in. Brass and Briar is a cool funky place and everyone was super kind and helpful. Glad I found them!

Truly the best tattoo shop in Portland in my experience. Very homey, comfortable and welcoming. Everyone there is so friendly and kind. Kara created a gorgeous tattoo of my recently passed horse . She was amazing with the detail. She was thoughtful and thorough with the whole process. I recently got a daith piercing by Nick Holes at Brass and Briar, and it was a great experience!! Nick is incredibly professional and creates a safe and comfortable environment. I found this piercing relatively pain-free (as far as cartilage piercings go) because Nick was so swift and skilled. I will 1,000% be going back in a few months to get more piercings from Nick!

Ive trusted Nick with my own piercings for years, and I was able to share that great experience with my daughter (8) for her first ear piercings. Hes an absolute gem who is a master of his craft. He walked her through the entire procedure and explained it in a way she would understand. He made her absolutely comfortable and the process was a breeze! By far my favorite tattoo studio! Everyone was friendly and professional, and Rebeka is an absolute master at her craft. She rightfully has a long waitlist to initially get in with her and its so worth it. I feel really lucky that I get to work with her going forward!For anyone interested in nature or scientific tattoos, I was so impressed at Rebekas attention to detail and the research she did about my obscure bird beforehand. I had scheduled a consult online at Brass and Briar prior to vacationing in Maine to book a tattoo with Kara, and she was great! I had a very specific time that I was available in Portland and she worked around it. I had a loose drawing of what I wanted and asked her to take some creative liberties with the design- and I love how it turned out! She was very helpful in every way and was very thorough in explaining aftercare. I would definitely recommend this shop and specifically getting work done from Kara.

Got another hot tattoo at Brass&Brair. First time tattoo with apprentice Braxton and it looks phenomenal. Would highly recommend this spot for your Maine ink and this up-and-coming artist as one to book with. got something custom but coming back for his flash next month.

Nick was absolutely amazing. I had to reschedule my appointment and he was very accommodating of the request. When I was back he gave a complete explanation of the process and made sure I was comfortable before proceeding. The place is clean and sterile. all needles for piercings used were opened in front of me. He clearly explained the post procedure care and made sure I got all necessary information. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

It is so cool in there! I had a great experience with Kara. She was very personable and considerate. She even regaled us with tales of her tattooing adventures. Her work is beautiful.

I love Rebeka and her work when I first met her years ago at another parlor. I got a not so good tattoo my former parlor and I know the one person I could always count on is Rebeka. Had a tattoo done by Rebeka, who is insanely talented. She was able to tattoo myself and my Wife with beautiful art ( we wanted Hugin and Munin, Odins Ravens on our forearms ), in only a few hours. I cannot emphasize how quick this sitting was for both of us, yet sacrificing zero quality. Already have my next appointment(s) scheduled and looking forward to my next piece!

I went in to get an earlobe hole that had closed up repierced. Nick was fantastic, very thorough in explaining the process and all of the jewelry options, making sure I was happy with the placement, the piercing, and walking me through all of the aftercare protocols. Everything was super clean, efficient, painless, and very professional. I will absolutely return and highly recommend Brass & Briar for anyone looking for piercing. When someone is sticking needles through your body, experience and skill are not something to skip - Nick has has both in spades.

Kara was an awesome artist to work with. She was warm, open, thoughtful, and professional. When her initial sketch didnt feel quite right to me but I couldnt figure out why, she help me articulate what I was looking for differently, and then re-drew more to my liking.Through the whole process, I felt very-well taken care of.

Fantastic tattoo, wonderful wonderful experience! My first tattoo, and the artist, Leah, immediately inspires confidence. My glassblowing teacher told me that I have good hands, and now Im saying the same about Leah. So easy to work with, to negotiate the location etc etc. It is exactly what I imagined. And the time flies by chatting with this interesting, genuine person. Everyone I met was smart as a tack and nice as pie. Cant hope for more!

I had an appointment with Rebeka for 2 cover-up tattoos. She is terriffic: an incredible artist (3 of my tattoos from her were drawn on freehand, instead of a stencil), easy to talk to, open to suggestions, and a consummate professional. The shop is clean and the staff super friendly and helpful. I would recommend Rebeka to anyone in search of a great tattooist in Portland, ME.

I did a bunch of research on artists before reaching out to Leah. I wanted someone that could do fine lines and who’s work actually looked good and not disproportional. I’ve seen some ugly tattoos.Leah is amazing! My mom passed and I wanted a tattoo that incorporated her heartbeat and signature but also had beauty to it. We emailed back and forth a few times and she was honest with what would or wouldn’t work. When my appointment finally came I was blown away with what she created. My favorite tattoo 🥰. Outstanding!!! I would recommend Nick Holes anytime to anyone getting a piercing. Brought my < 18 yo teenager in for ear lobes and helix piercing. Nick was awesome! Kind, caring, patient, friendly and very meticulous in cleaning and providing care instructions. The person at the front desk was very warm and welcoming as well! Would absolutely recommend!!!

Becky was amazing!! She took my idea, did everything I asked to tweak it and moved it around on my arm when the first spot wasn’t perfect. She has a great touch- and it came out amazing! Also we chatted about terrible reality TV and the hour went by like the snap of a finger! Will definitely be back for more!!

I have gotten several piercings from all over the united states over course of my travels, and this was by far my best experience. Nick Holes was one of the kindest, most thorough and professional piercers Ive ever met. The prices he gave us were beyond reasonable, and all of the jewelry at Brass & Briar is high quality and sterile. The vibe of the entire shop itself was also amazing. Where does one even start.. Brass & Briar Studios has a vibe like no other when you walk in. The staff is all so friendly and welcoming into their shop. The new shop is absolutely gorgeous, and I love the new layout, and how each artist decorates their space uniquely. This will be my second time at Brass & Briar Studios, both times I have seen the lovely and talented, Leah Richardson. She has done these two amazing pieces (each a year apart) and I cannot wait for more! I have sent friends and family her way, and they too, cannot wait to see her again. 10/2023 UPDATESo this studio is by far the best. I cant say enough about it. This time I was in for a smaller piece and had a fantastic experience with Leah. She was so sweet and I loved her personality. Just an all around pleasure to work with. And the tattoo is exactly what I wanted. She even made changes on the fly. Stellar. Its a hike for me to get there, but I seriously cant complain because they are simply the BEST at what they do.Rebeka was amazing. Not only is she a professional in every sense of the word, shes also efficient. I loved how comfortable the surroundings made me feel, and Rebeka talked to me through the whole two-hour tattoo. This is a huge deal! I love that the tattoo became a whole experience, not just a visit to a tattoo shop. I will not hesitate to recommend her to all my friends and anyone who asks. Her work quality speaks for itself, but Ill still be singing her praises for her quirky attitude and awesome bedside manner.

I recently started coming to Brass and Briar because my artist Shayna relocated here. And she is amazing! She has done all of my tattoos and i recently got a Death Head Moth tattoo and i absolutely love it! I love the vibe of the shop and the welcoming nature of the staff at this shop!! Can definitely recommend for service and quality. Rebeka is a gift to the world, kind, smart, SO efficient but not rushed. I felt taken in to consideration by everyone in the shop, which is clean, fun, and cool. The fish and plants seem happy which makes me think any place has their ducks in a row. I went and got my first tattoo with Kara Munro and my experience was absolutely amazing, I couldn’t have asked for better. She was very sweet and explained the whole process so well. She handled me with care and took the time to make sure I was satisfied and ready for the tattoo. The shop is also adorable and you can just tell all the staff are extremely helpful and caring about what they do!

TLDR: This is the best tattoo shop ever and Rebeka is an absolute master of her craft.I sent an email to Brass & Briar to ask if they would be able to perform a tattoo with very short notice because Im moving out of state soon. To my surprise, they were able to accommodate my request, and we got an appointment scheduled for just a week out from my original email!I expected an ordinary tattoo experience, but what I got was anything but. The entire place is decorated beautifully, full of beautiful artwork created by the resident tattoo artists. Rebekas (the owners) room in particular was full of hundreds of original designs she had created plastered around the walls; I knew immediately after seeing the room that I was in good hands.I was a bit nervous going in, but immediately felt comfortable after seeing the beautiful space and talking to some of the employees. Everyone was so incredibly kind and welcoming! You can really tell there is not one ounce of toxicity in that workplace. Everyone respects each other very much.I had made the appointment to get a tattoo of a sword and some flowers on my forearm. I floated the idea of expanding the tattoo to 3 separate swords, but since my appointment was such short notice, I was warned that my artist Rebeka didnt have the time to do the expanded idea. No problem at all: I was grateful just to have the appointment.Fast forward a bit: Rebeka was super fun and interesting to talk to during the tattoo. She accommodated all of my requests flawlessly, creating a beautifully intricate design that was beyond what I had even dreamed of. By the end of that first sword, I was beyond ecstatic for my new piece!Thats when things got crazy: Rebeka had a cancellation, so she decided shed be happy to implement my expanded idea! She took about 30 minutes and drew up two absolutely beautiful designs of the other swords I wanted surrounded by different flowers. It then only took her about an hour to tattoo each sword, and each one was absolutely stunning.If that wasnt crazy enough, Rebeka also gave my sister a completely original tattoo on a whim with her extra time. She only took about 20-30 minutes to draw up a beautiful arrangement of poppies and black eyed susans and also only took about an hour to finish the tattoo. From the finished product alone, I wouldnt be surprised if that tattoo had taken triple the time.Besides the amazingness of the tattoos, Rebeka was extremely fun and interesting to talk to. My sister and I both felt like we learned a lot just from sitting and talking with her over the course of that day. Some people just spread the light to whoever they interact with, and Rebeka is definitely one of those types of people.Thank you so much to Rebeka and the rest of the Brass & Briar crew! I already booked my next appointment and am planning to inquire about perhaps booking with some of the other artists there in the future as well. If you can get an appointment, book it ASAP!!! I promise you wont be disappointed.

I came to see Nick Holes for a jewelry change on some old piercings that I had made the mistake of putting cheap jewelry in at home.Nick was so helpful throughout the entire process, and took the time to walk me through options, prices, and how to remove the jewelry in the future if I need to.I would definitely recommend coming here if you are wary about changing jewelry at home, or just want to buy some new quality jewelry. I wish I did so sooner!

I got my Helix piercing done 2 days ago by the fantastic Nick Holes. Nick was just as great, passionate, caring and helpful as all the views I had read about him and more!I havent gotten a new piercing in many years and was a bit nervous because of some bad experiences Ive had and some healing complications in the past. But he has so helpful and willing to answer any questions honestly without saying what he thought I want to hear.The new location is beautiful and has a great welcoming feel to it.You can tell Nick is very passionate about his work and does a great job going through and explaining the whole process.It was fast and painless and I havent had any issues with the piercing so far. Ive had two ear piercings done with Nick. I feel like his practice is extremely safe and he is very good at explaining the after care and what to expect. And of course I was happy with both piercings!

This was my second tattoo appointment with Kara and I am extremely pleased with the experience. She is revamping some existing work from another artist at a different studio that I was unhappy with. After one appointment I can already say I am in love with the tattoo and am looking forward to adding more to it! She also did a pet portrait tattoo that healed very well and I can’t help but smile every time I look at. The studio is clean and has a friendly environment. Had a tattoo appointment with Ethan yesterday 4/2/23. Tattoo came out amazing and Ethan was amazing to talk to throughout the whole process. Was scheduled for a 12-6 session and ended up finishing just before 4pm. Ethan is extremely professional, but can also carry great conversations as well, especially for someone who is a Lord of The Rings addict. Thanks to Ethan and Brass & Briar for an amazing experience. I will work with them again on my next piece!

Leah did a great job on my tattoo. She was able to draw something up on the spot because what I originally wanted didnt really work in the spot where I wanted the tattoo. It turned out pretty awesome!

Well worth the long wait, and then some. I had a great time sitting for 4 hours with Rebekah. Fastest gun in the east, she was done with the line work on a very large piece of original artwork before I knew it. I’m thrilled with it, especially as I had her modify it just before she started. She’s a real pro, and made me feel welcome and comfortable.

Got my second lobe piercings by Nick Holes - He absolutely crushes the game. So thorough, patient, looked for appropriate placement. Beyond worth the cost, given the care and quality of the materials, space, and information. Muy bueno.

I just got two tattoos here from Kara. I cannot recommend the shop enough. I drove from Boston up to Portland for the day to get these two fun animal tattoos. I am a fairly experienced tattoo customer( I have double digit numbers are most are fairly large). I have worked with 7 different artists during that time and been to 7 different shops. I can honestly say that this is my favorite shop hands down. First, they have an amazing space. When you first walk in there are some great fish tanks. The person who worked at the front counter was beyond nice and helpful. There were a multitude of snack offerings for no charge and water available. The bathroom was clean, the waiting area was welcoming and filled with cool things to look at and purchase. Kara was a super nice person and her tattooing space was very comfortable, private and quiet. Kara made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. She is an amazing tattoo artist both with her skill and art! Her space was on the second floor and I was able to look out at the street. You could watch plenty of dogs go by and you could even see the water! Kara is an 11/10 artist and person. This shop is a total gem and I would recommend anyone to this shop!

Nick was amazing! He has a super calming demeanor that made the process very easy. I had two messed up piercings from other people and he removed one (because it was so bad) and gave me advice on how to fix the other. The piercing he gave me is healing very quickly! And I am super happy with it. I will not go anywhere else for my future piercings

So I called this shop and let them know we were 3 walk-ins just suffering a sudden loss of our dad (mom’s husband) and we all wanted a tattoo to honor him. They fit us in and Becky was amazing with my mom, especially with mom getting her first tattoo at 73 while nervous. It was my brother’s first as well and she was great with him as she was with me. This shop is impeccably clean and they are very welcoming, we all highly recommend it! Keep rocking guys!

Nick resized both of my nose peircings and he changed out both (one into a hoop and the other into jewelry that fit better). I didnt feel a thing and he was very thorough and knowledgeable about all things piercing related. I had uglyass bumps on them for over a year and they went away within a week after I got them changed out with Nick.

Recently had the pleasure of being tattooed by Rebeka and wow, this is my favorite tattoo experience to date. I’ve been to 7 different shops/artists all over the country and 1 in Australia, and very quickly I realized this would be a great appointment. I picked a flash piece yet she still spent so much time asking what I wanted the piece to embody for me, if I had any personal details I wanted to add, showed me a tour of the shop and we had great conversation. I have yet to return to the same artist (not necessarily on purpose - I just tend to like many styles and I move a lot), but I will DEFINITELY be returning to Rebeka at Brass and Briar.

Brass and Briar is such a beautiful and comfortable space to be in! Not only is it immaculately decorated, but the staff is nothing short of amazing. I’ve seen Zoe a few times over the last year and she is just the best. She is so attentive, caring and makes the tattoo experience wonderful! I have also had some brief interactions with the other artists as well and everyone seems so welcoming. Can’t wait to go back again!

For a first tattoo experience, I highly recommend Brass & Briar. The vibe is eclectic and the people there are some of the friendliest Ive met. The person at the front desk was welcoming and helpful and Kara was amazing! She was very accommodating as we made some minor adjustments to the design, explained everything as she did it during the tattooing process, was a pleasure to speak with while she worked and gave me the most perfect little tattoo! I got a GORGEOUS tattoo from Kara and it was such an amazing experience! She was sooo nice and accommodating--I felt very comfortable and safe the entire time I was there (: there were waters and snacks available if I needed anything and I even got some free stickers when the appointment was over (thats a big deal if you appreciate a good quality sticker like me). I love Brass & Briar!! I have been going to Ethan for the past few years now. I dont live nearby anymore, but I still make appointments as this is my favorite place to get tattooed. I went to Nick Holes for snakebite piercings. Ive been to see Nick a few times, and its always an excellent experience. He is professional, follows APP procedure, has great bedside manner, and is LGBTQ+ friendly. Hes also just a great dude, and I really enjoy the entire experience, small talk included. I wouldnt go anywhere else- Nick is the best piercer in Maine, and he has the awards to show it. Ill be back whenever I need another piercing or jewelry change!

My first time at Brass & Briar! I went to see Nick Holes for a jewelry change out and it was great. Me and all of my friends had gotten pierced by him at a previous shop, so i knew i had to go to him for any piercing needs. I’ve gone to other piercers before, but none of them compare to the service he provides. Everyone is very friendly, and the atmosphere is beautiful. 100/10 will go again.

I cant say enough kind things about Leah at Brass and Briar. From our first contact, to going back-and-forth via email on designs, and altering designs in studio, she was super prepared and understood my vision exactly! I went in for two small sticker-style tattoos and she both prepared me for the longevity of the look, and worked with me to give me exactly what I wanted. On top of her professionalism, she was wonderful to chat to and put me completely at ease. My hour-long session felt like 15 minutes. I couldnt recommend her highly enough!

Amazing experience! The environment was very relaxed, and Nick made sure to explain everything perfectly for me, making sure to relieve my anxiety and assure that I had the best possible experience. I got my vertical labret pierced. Nick even made sure that when I was anxious just as he was going to pierce my vertical labret that if I needed a minute to breathe, then he was willing to work with that. He was very quick with getting it all done, and made sure to explain everything so I understood exactly how to take care of my new piercing. Today is day 3 for me with it and I love it so much, and its healing nicely. Ill definitely be going back to Brass & Briar again for my next piercing.

Brass and Briar and Kara specifically were wonderful!!! This was my first tattoo and they went above and beyond to make the process fun and comfortable. Kara graciously started with a phone consult since I was driving from a way’s in, day of all of the studio staff were friendly and welcoming and offered snacks and water right off the bat. Kara took the time with me to go over and add to my design, and then explained step by step process, including what she needed to do for prep, aftercare, and answering all questions I had thoughtfully and courteously. She even went so far as to ask about and then play my favorite music in the room during the session to help make me more comfortable. And probably most importantly, the artwork is stunning. Really and truly beautiful, detailed, and well done, better than I could’ve imagined! I could not be happier and am SO thankful. She is phenomenal from her personality to her skills. We are currently working on a cover up project from an early 2000s chest piece…. We initially had the consult and from that conversation and photo examples I provided - Rebeka drew the perfect tattoo for me. She was able to create the perfect drawing of exactly what I wanted! My first cover up appointment consisted of line work and it went by even faster than I anticipated because Rebeka works fast and efficiently. Her line work is out of this world. I have have only experienced going to Nick Holes here-but that experience is an unparalleled one. I drive down 3 hours from the Downeast area if I need any piercing item done because he just does them best. Incredibly professional and exceedingly nice- he is the one to go to if you have any piercing needs. Anytime I go in the waiting room is stocked with snacks, water, and beautiful fish to look at. Wonderful place to visit!

I got my most recent piercings here by Nick Holes and it was a great experience. Nick was very kind, professional, and very clean. He communicated clearly and educated me throughout the appointment. Nick is excellent. As someone who experiences lightheadedness and fainting, I was nervous getting a piercing. Nick was a warm, funny, and skilled professional and I could not have had a better experience! Bonus: Nick offers an onboarding call to talk through the process in advance and is thorough about training in aftercare. 10/10! Ill be back!

Always great artwork and a great experience. I’ve been getting tattooed all over the country for almost 30 years, Rebeka is the most talented artist that I’ve had the pleasure of drawing on me. Her attention to detail and fine line work are unmatched by anyone I’ve came across. I currently have 4 pieces from her and she free handed 2 of them! I have not met another artist I would trust to do that. Well worth the wait and 2 hour drive.

About a week ago I had an appointment with Rebeka and it was a total blast! I cant recommend her enough.She is incredibly efficient, kind, and accommodating. She got me in and out of the shop in record time. I really appreciated being able to chat through most of my tattoo. Focusing my attention on our conversation also made it seem like time was flying by. There was a whole lot of extra considerations around the shop like extra comfy seating, extra room to bring a friend for company, and snacks.The overall feel of the shop was very inviting, and all of the workers I met that day were very warm and kind. Im very much so looking forward to coming back for another tattoo with Rebeka on my next trip to Portland. I give Rebeka and Brass & Briar 100 out of 10. I couldnt recommend this shop enough.

3 stars only because I’ve seen Nick pierce on a friend of mine who is white and he did a good job, but do not go here for a lip piercing if you’re not white. the jewelry they have is not big enough if your lips are even the slightest bit big which is really upsetting for a place located in such a non-white area. I completely understand not using jewelry that is too small because it could end up being really bad, but the fact that they don’t even carry jewelry that is big enough is what’s concerning. my lips are barely even big and I wasn’t able to get my lip pierced here. please start carrying bigger sizes so that you can cater to all races.

I got three small tattoos from Kara yesterday and it was one of the best tattoo experiences Ive had. The studio was clean, welcoming and eclectic and her room was private, cozy and comfortable. She was so friendly and professional. Best of all, she was non-judgmental and patient as we worked on finalizing my designs. She made it clear that she wanted me to be happy with her work. The appointment was efficient and very fairly priced, especially compared to other tattoos Ive gotten elsewhere. I chose Kara because she uses vegan ink and I so appreciate that! I had gotten a tattoo from Kara when her original place to tattoo was at Lucky’s in Northampton, MA. I followed her to her new home at Brass & Briar. The studio was adorable and very welcoming. All the staff there are so friendly, and answer any questions whether you’re newer to tattooing or a veteran. Kara is a great artist who has her own unique style. She also really takes the time to fulfill the client’s vision in what they would like in their tattoo. Obviously will be back again!

My husband and I both have been tattooed by Kara. She has excellent customer service and is very detailed oriented when planning and booking your tattoo experience. I have several tattoos from various places and have never had someone as focused on the client experience as her! She is also insanely talented. Had an amazing time working with Rebeka! She was very professional, welcoming, and easy going. I saw her design for my tattoo when I arrived at my appointment & was absolutely in LOVE with it! She was also great helping me decide where exactly to place the tattoo in order to make it flow well with my body. Lastly, she was easy to talk to which was a fantastic distraction for me to not focus on the pain for my 3.5hr appointment. Everything about the process went so smoothly. Rebeka is absolutely fantastic.Not only is she a super talented tattoo artist and businesswoman, she also does her best to make sure the tattoo experience is as pleasant as possible.I actually had a lot of fun with the 2 sessions we had! I had a couple of breaks, and I always felt comfortable throughout the entire process, from basic sketch to finished tattoo. My tattoo appointment and experience with Ethan was just wonderful and exactly what I was looking for with my second tattoo. I had waited a long time to find an artist that does what Ethan does and it was well worth the wait! Brass & Briar is also a beautiful studio that is comforting, clean and the kind of place where art is made. After my first visit to Brass & Briar Studios, I have since moved to Florida and I still wont go to any other studio to get my tattoos done. Rebeka has done almost all of my tattoos and not only have I always felt confident in her skill, but I always feel very comfortable during my appointments. Ethan is amazing! Made us feel so comfortable and was so careful about hygiene, privacy (we got our own private room), and technique. We got simple work done but he did a great job and took his time and was very thorough. Can’t recommend him enough! Very happy with the outcome.

Rebeka is one of one of the most talented artists Ive ever seen. Her listening skills, attention to detail, and creativity all came together to bring my vision to life in a way I didnt even know was possible. The space she has created at Brass and Briar is warm, welcoming, calming and fun all at the same time. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. I honestly couldnt have asked for a better experience. Rebeka turned a scar into a masterpiece! I already had 6 tattoos by the time I found this shop a few years ago. I needed to cover up a botched tattoo that resulted in an even more botched laser removal scar on my wrist. Ive gone back to have 3 more pieces done and plan to continue to stay on her books for as long as she is in business. My appointments are usually a year apart and YES the wait is worth it. Rebekas art and technique speak for themselves, and her passion and insight make my entire time in the chair a fun and unique experience. Everyone who Ive encountered working there has been kind and helpful as well. I havent been tattooed by any of the other artists, but if they work with Rebeka, they must be good.

Called and spoke to a women, I made it VERY clear my daughter was an 11yr minor and was looking to have her ears pierced. I knew tattoo shops did needles instead of the guns which is why we were looking into a tattoo shop….Asked about the shop’s policy for children since the sign on front door said “no children”, was told the instructor were online with NO elaboration. When I went to the website to book, reviewed the FAQs specifically the “how old do I need to be” which says 8+ for lobes. After reading that I went to book an appointment, in fairness I DID NOT scroll any further. Again, is after I called and said my daughter was 11yr. The website then prompted me “Is the client booking the appointment 18yr or younger” I selected “no” since my daughter (11yr) would not be online booking an appointment. I’m sure I misread, misunderstood, or could have asked more question to the women on the phone but thought it would have been more apparent on the website. I do wish the women who I spoke to, when I said my daughter was an 11yr old minor would have said we needed a birth certificate was needed the day of the appointment and prior to the appointment a consult was need I would not have booked the appointment and this review would not be needed. This review isn’t for the service of the establishment but for the overall communication on policy. When you call and then read the policy online these types of issues should not still occur. To be clear (since it isn’t on the website) if there’s a child 11 years or younger, some type of identification, i.e. a birth certificate is required at the day of the appointment, and also a consultation prior to the appointment is required. Maybe if the woman who I spoke to when I tried to make the appointment had informed me of this information, I wouldn’t need to write a review to inform others.

I just got my nose pierced and Nick couldn’t have been better. I got light headed and they were very polite and made sure i was ok before I went on my way. The actual process took five minutes and was way easier than i expected.

I had such a fantastic experience at Brass and Briar; Rebeka is awesome, the design she made for me is gorgeous, and I’m beyond happy with how the tattoo came out! Wonderful service, great people, free snacks - my experience was lacking nothing. I’ll definitely be returning!

Kara Munroe is an amazing artist! She is extremely professional, knowledgable, talented, and genuinely fun to be around (important when youre spending so much time together!). I had a piece outlined in 2019 by an artist who is now just impossible to schedule with. Kara did an awesome job of taking that outlined piece and adding a little more, helping me to pick a color palette, and planning out how to finish my half sleeve. I think I am happier with my piece now than I would have been with the original artist because Karas tattoing is just so beautiful.Additionally, Brass & Briar are a wonderful and amazingly welcoming shop. Everyone is very nice and they provide snacks/drinks for you. My one complaint is that not everyone at the shop is still wearing a mask. Kara does, though, so if you work with her, its not a big deal at all!
