My husband and I came here for our night on the town! We both got pierced by Rikki! This was my husbands first piercing and the entire staff made him feel at ease and walked him through everything! Rikki made sure he was comfortable the entire time and went at his pace! I couldn’t have been any happier with the service we both received!!!Staff is absolutely fantastic, the quality of the jewelry is top of the line and the entire experience is so worth it!!! Not to mention the shop itself is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!!!Thank you to Rikki and all the front desk staff for taking such great care of us! It was a wonderful Mothers day present :)

Rikki is amazing! Made me feel so comfortable when I got my piercing done by her way back in 2019! I contacted her recently for some concerns and she replied immediately and helped me out so much! The whole staff is really cool and the place itself is cozy, and kept nicely.

Both Rikki and Christian are highly skilled and professional piercers! Ive been pierced by both, as has my sibling multiple times, and its always a great experience. They are patient in answering questions, and they take great care when marking and piercing. Highly recommend them both

I cant recommend this place enough- Ive had all 8 of my tattoos and 3 of my piercings done here. Everyone is so friendly and I always feel welcome! Patrick, Aldo and Michael are extremely talented and always deliver high quality work. They really listen to what you want and help you design the perfect piece of art. Rikki, Chris and Melissa are amazing piercers and are truly passionate about their craft. I feel so safe coming in because I know that everything is up to standard. I tell everyone I know about this place and I truly think they are the best of the best! The shop has super convenient hours and its super easy to schedule a tattoo or walk in for a piercing!

This is my current go to for any piercings I get. I’ve had my first two here and it’s been a quick and satisfying experience. The tattoo artists and piercers show off their love for art and pop culture, and it sets the atmosphere when you walk in. They uphold cleanliness standards and are well maintained. You won’t be done wrong coming here.

I recently found out the only metal Im not allergic to is Titanium. So, after not being able to wear earrings for the last 15+years, I got my ears re-pierced. I found Rikki and went in as soon as I could. She put the new earrings in, as she talked me through the process. She was so kind and patient! Very happy a week out- with no irritation!

While the piercer was very nice and professional, I will say the price is insane compared to any other place I’ve ever been. It’s way more, and I wouldn’t say it comes with higher quality. My bellybutton piercing is crooked. I’ve waited over a year to post this to make sure it healed fully and wasn’t a temporary issue. Not a horrible experience, but save your money and go somewhere else!

Absolutely wonderful studio. I came as a walk in to upgrade some jewelry and the piercing team was soooo helpful! The experience was fast and friendly. My four new pieces of jewelry are so high quality. I cant wait to return.

I’d like to start by saying I have been a RN for 10yrs and worked with/served different people from all different backgrounds and tattoo shops are one of the few places where I can be me freely no matter how many tattoos/piercings I have, I’m typically treated in respect to how I treat others without pre judging… my safe space so to say..I’ve had mixed experiences at this store. While the piercers have always been super nice and professional, one of the staff members has consistently been unpleasant. Specifically, the African American woman with dreadlocks who works at the front desk there often has a negative attitude, rolling her eyes and acting rudely whenever I come in. I’m African American as well so it’s not a matter of her just having a resting B face lol It’s disappointing because the rest of the team is so great.Unfortunately, her behavior makes the overall experience less enjoyable. I have been there 4 times in the past 2yrs and it’s been the same every time and I notice she takes a different tone with other customers. I’m kind and try not to ask a bunch of questions because she rolls her eyes when I ask the first. Waited to write a review because I don’t like to complain and try to give people the benefit of the doubt like maybe she had a bad day but no.To add context, today after I selected my items and finished with the piercer, I’m standing at the counter waiting for the piercer to bring my other jewelry item from the back, credit card in my hands, waiting for her to tell me my total and reach for it or something to let me know she’s ready but no.. she stands on the other side of the counter, 3 minutes of awkward silence with her rolling her eyes looking annoyed before finally saying “I can take you over here” I kinda laughed and told her I thought she was waiting for the other lady to come back since she didn’t say anything.. however when the guy before me finished I heard her ask him if he got what he needed and I can rent you up right over here etc.. you know normal customer service behavior.. maybe im more urban appearing than the area is used to.. that’s the only thing I can think of for her energy but EVERYONE else is super nice and accommodating.. she just makes me feel like my presence is a bother to her.. if you’ve ever felt that then you know it’s kind of hard to describe..

Ive been going here since around 2017. So far, I think Ive received 16 tattoos with various artists, and 14 piercings from various piercers. The shop is Hygenic, welcoming, and provides excellent customer service. As a member of The Queer community its amazing knowing I have a place where I can comfortably express some levels of control on my body. I Highly recommend this shop if you want a welcoming place, who specializes in Anime style tattoos, and knowledgeable safe piercing.

Some clown said these guys arent passionate about their work because they wont work past their business hours. This has to be the best shop I have ever been in. As long as you treat everyone with respect and make an appointment (for tattoos, piercings are walk in) then you will be treated with respect. I have Patrick working on my sleeves, Aldo did a tattoo for my wife and I, and Christian pierced my ears for me. I would never go to another studio and if you want amazing art then you would go here too.

Absolutely loved my experience here and will definitely be going back for any other piercings in the future!I had my Medusa pierced at a local shop in Clayton that was crooked and I was too nervous to ask the piercer to see what they could do about it. I ended up taking the piercing out and did some research on other piercing studios.Through an Instagram search I found Hillsborough st tattoo & body piercing and loved how their piercing work turned out.When I went to the website I really loved the fact that you could text the piercers about any questions that you may have.I explained my story to Rikki and she was so helpful, quick with responding, and very nice.When I arrived at the shop, the front desk was really helpful with assisting me on picking out jewelry and checking in. Mellisa ended up doing my Medusa piercing and did an AMAZING job, Rikki and Mellisa both made sure that it was perfectly aligned and made me feel really comfortable during the whole process!! I normally don’t write reviews for anything, but they really fixed my piercing and made it a great experience.This place is clean, precise, and welcoming! I would recommend them to anyone

Got my nose pierced here by Christian. He did a really good job with the piercingplacement, ane explaining the whole procedure/ healing process. Plus he was sweet and calm making the whole experience nice. If youre looking to get anything pierced, this is the spot.

As someone who has worked here and has had work done here, I cannot recommend this team enough. Great people to work alongside with, and to go to for services. This place is very clean and super professional. When I went I was able to be seen fairly quickly. The jewelry selection was high quality. I chose to have my barbells plated with a different color coating. They had a ton to metals to choose from that were all beautiful. You can get black, yellow gold, pale gold, rose gold, etc. They knew their jewelry is MRI safe when I asked. My piercer made me feel very comfortable and was super knowledgeable. Piercings happen in private rooms in the back. There were male and female piercers on staff. They run a tight ship and everything is very efficient.

Went here for a nose piercing with 2 of my friends. We were in and out in under an hour! My piercing has healed so well. Highly recommend!

Best shop I’ve been to thus far. It’s really hard to find tattoo artists who are truly artists and passionate about what they do. Every time I have been here, it’s always a pleasant experience. Everyone there is professional and friendly and the place is by far the most well kept of any of the prior shops I’ve dealt with.

I would have given a 5/5, however, the receptionist was very rude and offsetting. Our piercer, Christian, was absolutely wonderful and more than accommodating. I see several other reviews regarding rude customer service at the desk which tells me that I am not just making this up. Piercing service was amazing, however, the way we were welcomed definitely took away from the experience.

I came in for a Philtrum and I asked specifically for Rikki, since they were gonna do it originally, but I bailed out the first time. So it felt fitting to have them do it. However when I asked for them, Melissa in a condescending and upset tone said it’ll be a while because they were doing something else. Other than that interaction, Rikki was very educational, supportive, energetic and overall everything you would want from a professional piercer! ✨ The shop has amazing personality and the jewelry selection was plentiful and beautiful!

I got my ears pierced there today. The people were very nice. Rikki did my piercing and they did a wonderful job. They talked me through the whole thing and let me talk about random stuff while it was happening. The services are wonderful. If you’re getting a piercing, I would recommend.

Come here for all your piercings! They only take walk-ins for piercings. Great selection of jewelry, it was hard to choose because I loved them all. Very reasonably priced for the piercing itself. Christian did my piercing and was very kind and personable. He made sure I liked the placement and took his time with me. Highly recommend this place!

Love Rikki and Melissa, dont like the front receptionist. They were really disinterested which I get working sucks, though I felt like I annoyed them when all I did was tell them which piercings I was getting. They were very snappy and was irritated(or maybe was tired?) when going over jewelry options. When we were talking it seems they were only half-listening as I had to keep reiterating myself. Made me feel like I bothered them or that today was just a bad day or something. I felt uncomfortable after talking to them and paying at the register which sucked because I dont want to feel like I gave them a hard time but Ive been here before and I was never treated like that.

Absolutely the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. Rikki was amazing! She gave me such great care instructions. I have never felt more comfortable or in better hands in a tattoo or piercing studio. So efficient, gave me some great advice and even checked on my friends new piercing from another artist while we were there!I cannot recommend this place enough. Clean, high quality establishment with great customer service. Took my girls in for ear piercings a couple weeks ago. They are healing up very nicely and their after care instructions were simple and clear. Rikki is thorough and careful. Wide selection of jewelry. Gorgeous art in the lobby that the rest of our party enjoyed viewing while they waited. A great shop and a great experience.

Rikki is a great, very professional piercer and a kind person. However, her front desk person was incredibly rude to me and the other customers in the lobby. They were very murky about pricing and were visibly annoyed when I inquired about the prices of the jewelry. They kept telling me that the jewelry is priced individually, but could not give me an exact number of how much the individual jewelry/fees would cost when I asked. I eventually stopped asking them questions because they got impatient and snappy. I regret not leaving then and there, because I ended up paying $200 for two lobe piercings and basic, titanium earrings. Though I enjoyed my experience with Rikki, I am not coming back because of the unreasonable/unclear pricing (Im a college student that cant afford to shell out hundreds of dollars for ear piercings) and the poor treatment we recieved from the front desk.

When we got there we were assisted by a younger woman who had darker skin and dyed hair. She was literally the most rude and unfriendly person I have ever come into contact with for customer service. She seemed like she hated her life but like… that’s not my fault😭😭and she wasn’t even listening to what I was saying and had the biggest attitude in the world… like fix it it’s not cute. But the person who did my piercing was a Queen and she did a great job ❤️

Rikki is amazing! The entire process from texting her regarding my daughter having her septum pierced, to the piercing itself, to her bubbly personality and professionalism was great. The jewelry selection was great, prices were reasonable and they allowed all members of our weird blended immediate family to be there for my daughters first non ear piercing. Rikki may be one of, if not the only, APP piercer around which is how we found her, but she has clients for life now!

I would absolutely recommend this place to first timers and/or people who are scared of needles. Christian has done multiple (4 so far) piercings for me and it has always been such a pleasant experience! I am terribly scared of needles and he was so understanding every time! GO HERE!Proper sanitation techniques, high quality jewelry, and knowledgeable, personable piercers. Rikki and Christian were both great! They are also APP members which is and added bonus. I wanted to get two sets of double nostrils, but once the piercers realized I wanted one set to be high nostrils, they said they could only do one set today (rather than all 4 piercings at once) due to the amount of swelling with high nostrils. I appreciate piercers who are looking out for your best interests rather than just trying to pierce as much as possible to get your money and get you out the door. The studio is walk-in only, so expect some wait time if things are busy. They dont rush, which is a good thing- after all, youre having someone make changes to your body, so you want them to give you their full attention and time.The studio itself also has a super cool aesthetic. I loved the faucets! Glad to have this studio right down the road from me for all my piercing needs.

Just here to say that if you cant read opening hours or are that hurt by people ignoring you(during closed hours) you probably dont need a tattoo. This place is wonderful for piercings and tattoos. Book an appointment and youre all set. Phenomenal people and the owners are amazing to talk to. One of the best businesses downtown and Im good for that rating(I got a mullet, buddy - bet bro who cant read shop hours didnt have one of those). Shout out to everyone there for being not only amazing tattoo artists and piercers but great friends too!

Rikki was absolutely amazing and all of the staff I spoke to were very friendly! I went in wanting an Industrial piercing. Unfortunately, my ear was not fit to get one. Rikki took the time to explain that to me and I decided to get a Helix instead. She helped me pick out the jewelry and did a fantastic job. She explained everything to me before piercing and was incredibly friendly and professional. Definitely recommend Rikki and the shop for any piercing needs!

My young child wanted their ears pierced and after hearing horror stories from places like Claires my spouse and I wanted a professional. Rikki was phenomenal. Ive been going to this shop for years and love every tattoo Ive gotten there. The shop is a great place with stellar folks working there. 10/10 gonna get tattooed there again.

The bedside manner here is fantastic; the receptionists were clear about pricing and paperwork was quick and easy. I was able to text about pricing and ask questions before I came in. Even though we came in 10 mins after they opened, there was a group ahead of us. Our visit took about an hour and 45mins (mine for one piercing was an hour). Bear in mind they can’t give any estimates for how long the service will take so plan accordingly. My piercer Rikki was really kind, talked me through the whole process and made sure I was comfortable and involved. She asked me to come back for a follow up and recommended I wait another 6 months before changing jewelry. My roommates piercer Christian was equally kind and patient. We were both given complimentary nasal spray. My roommate did like 5 face piercings for 400 or so and my nose piercing ($80) and a jewelry replacement ($45) for my other nose piercing was $139. Definitely recommend.

I set up an appointment for my daughter to get her ears pierced here. Rikki was super kind and informative. My daughter got nervous after seeing the needle and changed her mind. Rikki was super cool about it and didnt charge us anything even though she had already taken the time to sterilize the jewelry and set everything up. Would definitely recommend such a wonderful caring professional like her and she is really great with younger customers.

I had horrible experiences getting my first lobe piercings as a child. When I finally agreed to let my daughter get hers pierced, I found Rikki. She was great with my daughter and three weeks later the holes are healing well with no issues! I had my conch pierced after my daughters ears. It was easy to get and Ive had no issues. There were lots of people getting pierced but they handle the volume well. We never felt rushed and my daughter is thrilled. She was smiling and laughing while showing them off immediately after. When my second daughter is old enough and wants her ears pierced, Ill definitely bring her to Rikki (myself, too)!

I have been here twice to get piercings done by Rikki and each time was a great experience! She is super friendly and quick. If you have anxiety like I do, she will put you at ease. If you go to the shop and its busy - just wait! You wont be disappointed and youll probably meet some nice people waiting with you!

This review is for the piercing services, I have not had a tattoo done here. Rikki, the head piercer, and her apprentice Christian are both phenomenal. Rikki was able to redo a rook piercing I had to abandon after another place botched it and I had healed that. It is my favorite piercing and due to my anatomy has been a bit of a battle but she and Christian have helped me get it healing right and made jewelry adjustments as needed for comfort. She also pierced my eyebrow and did a 3rd hole on one upper lobe, both of which healed clean and fast. All 3 piercings are perfect and pristine. When the swelling went down we changed to appropriate bar lengths easily. Rikki REALLY knows what she is doing and has a great eye for placement and sizing. Best of all she is also amazingly kind and welcoming. They also have a selection of lovely high quality jewelry including more options than usual for titanium (I have metal allergies). The jewelry prices do reflect their quality but you get what you pay for- body mods should not be taken lightly and quality matters both in the piercer and the jewelry. I wont be going to anyone else for my piercing needs!

Rikki pierced my bridge, she did a wonderful job; the piercing process was very smooth, she took the time to explain every move she was making throughout and was very professional. Its healing beautifully. I felt very comfortable with this shop and I will definitely be back for more.

Had a very pleasant experience. Everyone was very perfessional and it all felt very clean and well kept. Rikki was an amazing piercer. I got my second set of lobes and my friend got a helix and belly button peircing. Pricing was clear and everything went smoothly and quickly.

After a less than stellar scheduling experience at another local shop, I ended up taking my 10 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. Rikki was absolutely incredible. She was gentle and kind and so encouraging, even though my daughter was a little nervous. She talked TO her, instead of about her to me, which is a small detail too many people miss. She talked her through every step so she wasnt ever surprised and always knew exactly what was going on and what was happening next. (Another small thing I noticed was the assistants used very respectful gender neutral terms when we were getting checked in - using her name directly or they) Everything was immaculately clean and very organized. I will be back, for sure. It was the absolute BEST first piercing experience.

I went yesterday to get my helix and earlobe piercings done and Rikki was so amazing! She walked me through what she was going to do, after care and recommendations. She was so sweet and patient. Went here to get my Medusa piercing done, my piercer was absolutely awesome. Firstly, I was a walk in and they had me back in less than 45 minutes. She was incredibly professional, explained everything to me as she was getting me cleaned up and ready to go. It was super quick, and done very well! I’m absolutely in love with the piercing. She told me how to clean it, and care for it and also explained that she was putting in a longer bar to accommodate for the swelling that will occur in that area, and then told me to come back in 2 weeks to get the longer bar switched out to a shorter one! I definitely recommend going here, couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

I came in and got my nipples pierced. Staff was very friendly. I was pierced by Rikki, and she was very knowledgeable about the piercing I wanted. She explained the process very well, gave me helpful information about the healing process/aftercare, and sterilized everything she used. Best of all- her piercing placement is spot on. Im definitely planning on going back in the future if I want anything else done!

I am extremely upset😡About a month ago I had my vertical labret pierced, I was very apprehensive about the cost. With the jewelry that I chose my piercing was $129.00 with tax. I understand that your lip swells when its pierced, so didnt think anything of it until I had to change the jewelry that kept falling apart at the top. Once I changed my jewelry I realized that it was so extremely crooked. After all said and done I left the piercer a 20.00 tip. So for 1 piercing out the door, I spent 149.00.Never again...I am so upset. I wish that there was a way to show the photo of how botched up the piercing is. TO EXPENSIVE....NOT WORTH IT....WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR RETURN.

Just got my nose and septum pierced by Christian, easiest piercings ever. he went over proper aftercare made sure I was comfortable and informed me on what to expect in the healing process. The place is very clean as well. As someone who has been to piercers who are not APP certified I will continue to drive over an hour to get quality work done . this is definitely where I will go for all of my future piercings. I had a great experience with them. I was visiting the area when I lost one of the balls to my recent septum piercing. I texted their number to check if they could replace it, including the specs of my jewelry. not only did they replace the ball, but they also anodized it to match the color!they were super friendly and it was a super pleasant experience. the person who put the ball back on was careful and gentle. also the main person who helped me had such cool makeup, hair, and clothes. I dont know how to explain the awesome vibe except to mention the specific detail that the heels of their shoes were citrus slices ☺

Today I was pierced by the beautiful Melissa! She lined up my naval piercing precisely. She went into great details about what to expect during and after the procedure. Absolutely amazing experience. I contacted the studio the day before for info on a piercing I wanted and they were super friendly and prompt about answering any questions I had. When I arrived, Rikki was very friendly and knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable as she explained the entire process. I left feeling fantastic and Im excited to go back in the future for more jewerly (and maybe more piercings after its safe to do ones under the mask!)

The business was very cleanly and friendly. They had a lot of different options of high quality earrings and gave information on after-care that was super helpful. I went here for a septum piercing. When I called ahead, the guy on the phone was super nice, answered all of my questions and told me everything I needed to know. While the parlor is small, the environment is super fun; the walls are covered in artwork and figurines, and there is a Danny DeVito cutout near the entrance. The piercer- I believe it was Rikki- was awesome. This was my first proper piercing, (excluding ear piercings that I got from Claires) and she talked me through the whole process, and really made me feel comfortable. Not to mention that she did an awesome job, and made it almost completely painless. I will definitely be coming back here for any future piercings, and would recommend anyone here as well!

I got a set of piercings done with Rikki yesterday. Out of the 12 piercings Ive gotten, this was the absolute BEST. Nothing wrong with any of my other experiences at other places but Rikki was just above and beyond any studio Ive ever gone to. She made me feel super comfortable and she was very professional. She made sure to get my breathing right before she pierced me and then had me sit up slowly after the piercing to make sure I felt okay. I dont know how to describe it because all my other piercings were professional and clean experiences but Rikki has got something about her that sets her apart. I didnt feel out of place at her studio despite not being heavily tattooed/pierced, which was great. 10/10 definitely recommend going to Rikki for any piercing you want. I drove from North Durham to Raleigh for it! Totally worth the drive. Also she is APP certified which adds an extra level of comfort.

I have gone many times to get piercings here! They are so professional and take the most care in making sure each person feels comfortable. Their experience caters to each persons needs. And they do great beautiful work! Love this place.

My piercing experience with Rikki was fantastic! I got my tragus pierced 3 weeks ago (my first cartilage piercing) and she was very calming and reassuring despite my nerves. She was also very professional and informative throughout the whole process. I have had no problems with the piercing-- very little pain, no swelling, no redness, and Im so happy with how it looks!

Waits are short, all the staff are super friendly, and the piercers are incredibly professional. Ive always gotten the exact placement I wanted without any concern for mistakes, infections, whatever! Wouldnt get future piercings at any other spot :)

Rikki is amazing. Got my tragus pierced, no pain no swelling at all. She even went out of her way to find me a place by me where I can swap out the earring once it heals (from NY). Do not attempt to go to this establishment. Understanding prior customers have their loyalty, however the staff are rude, and immature. If you are a new customer do not expect any type of professionalism. The owner of shop does not seem to care of caliber of individuals she has working for her as very unprofessional I inquired about a tattoo over a month ago. A artist reached out requesting information never heard from shop or artist again. When I called a female receptionist named Michelle was rude as well as condensending..typical demeanor of entitled immature individual.

Christian did an amazing job giving me my septum piercing! He was very kind & professional. Anyone who loves a black cat is also a good person to be around in my opinion! It was so easy to walk in and get a piercing here at this shop, 10/10 would recommend 🖤

Went in for a nipple piercing and I love that Rikki was super professional and knowledgeable and was able to make a barbell in my favorite color purple.One did not come out as straight as we liked but she was very professional we removed the one we didnt like and repiercied it two weeks later at no extra cost. Now they are beautiful and perfect and I love them.Definitely recommend her if you want a piercing youll love and an experience that matches.

Got my navel pierced here and I love it! Rikki and Christian are super sweet and professional 💖Update: The piercing started rejecting after like a month, RIP. I had suspected that a floating navel would suit me better & I shouldve listened to my gut instinct.Christian did check to see how my navel looked while I was sitting down, but I quickly realized that the bottom ball would get squashed when I would slouch or bend over to pick something up 😔

I got a surface piercing on my forehead that I was really nervous about, but Rikki was so gentle and kind it ended up being one of the easiest and least painful piercings I’ve ever received! Rikki made me very comfortable with them, I will definitely be returning for all my future piercing needs! :)

Rikki is amazing! I messaged her on her day off to ask her opinion about a piercing I had done at ANOTHER shop. She was friendly and polite via messages but determined it would be better if I stopped by the shop so she could see for herself what I was talking about. When I arrived there was a small wait, no big deal, I hadnt made an appointment and she is an in demand piercer. The atmosphere at the shop is great. It is small and quaint and the artists were very friendly while I waited. Rikki took one look at my ear and apologized for the work the other piercer had done. You see I went and got my industrial pierced. I even asked the piercer if I had enough meat to get this piercing and they said yes. I did not. Rikki stated in her PROFESSIONAL opinion, she would remove the piercing and let it heal. She removed the jewelry and disposed of it as well. Im so glad that I listened to my body. May have lost the piercing Ive always wanted, but Rikki has gained my business from now on. THANK YOU AGAIN RIKKI!

My mom decided on the fly to get her cartilage pierced. Rikki was amazing! She explained everything very well to her, was patient, gentle, and all around awesome! My parents live out of state, and Rikki even went through the trouble of finding a piercer she knows near them so my mom could change out the post after her piercing healed a bit. Highly recommend!

Got a conch piercing here, Ill definitely be coming back for more (already planning for a double helix)! the staff was super friendly and talked me through all of the process, and it took under 45 mins for the whole process. i would definitely recommend this place, it was a great experience overall.

I went on a busy day for a walk in bridge piercing, the wait was long but worth it. Shea and Rikki were extremely kind and efficient. They spent extra time to make sure my bar was straight in all facial expressions, I would recommend to anyone who was looking for a reliable piercing shop. They offer titanium jewelry as well as some fun stone options at a very reasonable price. It was a great overall experience and was well worth the wait.

I have gotten so many piercings there and LOVE Christian and Rikki. They’re both so so sweet, patient, kind and so incredibly helpful. I have also gotten a BEAUTIFUL coverup tattoo done by Aldo who was also so so patient and kind. I drive about an hour to go to this studio and will continue to for tattoos and piercings.

This is definitely the best Tattoo Shop I have ever been to. Patrick was my artist and he has done a phenomenal job so far on my sleeve. Rikki, Aldo, and Michael were also very nice and great to talk to. Normally I get anxiety when going to get a tattoo but when I go here I look forward to it because it is like hanging out with a bunch of friends. I traveled all the way from Greenville to see Rikki for my piercing. For the piercing I was getting, I DID NOT want to cut corners. She’s a member of APP so I figured she’d be the safest and I wasn’t wrong. She did great! She has a nice, sweet, relaxing personality. My piercing also healed beautifully!

Warning: Long review ahead!Ive gone here to get some piercings (eyebrow and ears) and plan to get plenty more. Christian and Rikki are both lovely, conversational people, and having such a good experience with them both is what keeps me coming back.Cost wise, it can be more expensive than other shops in the area, but remember that youre going to be paying for Rikkis expertise and APP status as well as high-quality jewelry (but someone doesnt need to be an APP piercer to be a great piercer! Always check out a piercers portfolio and make sure their space is clean and that they sell high-quality jewelry). The jewelry they sell here is threadless or internally threaded (iirc) and ranges from titanium to silver and gold, which is perfect if youre like me and have sensitive ears. They have a nice range of jewelry options in my personal opinion, but know that some pieces may be out of stock or need to be ordered in.Keep in mind that if you come on a busy day, plan accordingly. This place is right by NCSU so theres always college students coming in to get new jewelry and piercings, and the crew has to take time to sanitize and anodize jewelry, as well as clean and set up their piercing room for every client. If you see a bunch of people standing around, youre going to have a long wait--if you dont have time to wait, then try another day. You can call right before you show up and ask how many people are in line, too.Ive always had great service when coming here even with my super picky friend. Dont be afraid to speak up if you have an issue with the placement of your fresh piercing either, or if it heals up crooked! Sometimes stuff like that happens, but Rikki is always super kind. Most of the time theyll send you home with a bottle of piercing cleaner after you get one done, but there are times where theyre out of stock. In that instance, Id recommend walking down to Target or CVS and picking up some saline wound wash, since its literally the same stuff. Sometimes your piercing might end up having issues anyway (surface piercings can be especially temperamental), and in that case you can go back in and have Rikki take a look to see if it needs to be removed.If I end up getting a tattoo here like I plan, then Ill update this review accordingly with my experience.

Ive had a fantastic experience getting a half sleeve at Hillsborough St. Tattoo. Patrick is a lot of fun and a phenomenal artist who took my basic ideas and created something way beyond my imagination! The rest of the staff are very nice and created a relaxing atmosphere where you want to hang out. I highly recommend going here and will be returning to finish my arm!

Walked in for an eyebrow piercing at about 7:00 on a Sunday. Wait time was only about an hour and Rikki was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and helpful when talking about placement & maintenance. She somehow managed to keep the whole process relatively pain-free, no bleeding or bruising at all. Would definitely recommend!

Rikki and Christian are great! I actually haven’t gotten any piercings initially done here, but I’ve had them solve a few issues I had with existing ones as well as downsizing some stuff. I went in initially for an old tragus piercing that got badly swollen expecting they wouldn’t be able to save it, but much to my surprise Rikki managed to get it out and a longer post put in to allow room to heal. I won’t lie- it was EXTREMELY painful, but she was up front about the fact it would hurt and I know it was my own fault for letting it get so very bad before coming in. When I got really woozy and started blacking out they were quick to get cold cloths on me and offer snacks to get my blood sugar back up. I came back today to get a labret post downsized, which was painless and quick, and they looked at a nostril piercing that was healing badly and got it swapped out with more appropriate jewelry. I think I only waited about 20 minutes and they made sure everyone there was spaced out and wearing masks, which I appreciated! They’re also very reasonably priced for such a high quality place- my gold nostril stud and downsized labret post plus having the jewelry changed was only $115, which is a steal if you’re familiar with how much gold jewelry usually costs! I have waited to go back to my old piercing shop in AZ for piercings in the past, but since they let me down this time and Rikki did such a lovely job, I think I will just come here to start with in the future!

Ive been hunting around for a while for a new place to get piercings since the old shop I went to closed down, and I couldnt be happier!!Came in to see about having my ears mapped out for new piercings since Im too indecisive to pick anything in particular, and the artist was super helpful and knowledgeable (as expected of an APP certified artist!). So far, we went with a conch (which has been my most wanted/feared piercing since it just looked so intimidating) and two mid-lobes and it looks absolutely sickening!! The placement is amazing and the jewelry I got to pick looks stunning in them.I cant wait for them to heal up and head back in for more!! Definitely head in and talk to Rikki or any of their piercers for some excellent and thorough work!!

From a recommendation of a friend, went to Hillsborough St. Tattoo to see Rikki for nipple piercing. She was very professional and put my friends and I at ease. Definitely recommend going to see her for any piercings. Had a great time waiting in the lobby and talking to other customers about all the action figures decorations.

I initially came here to get help with a fresh piercing I got while out of town that was extremely swollen and having a hard time. I was really worried about losing it but Rikki, Christian and Melissa saved me and supported me through the pain (i really needed this lol). Ive been back several times since for downsizings and new jewelry and everyone is super welcoming, kind and helpful every time. I really look forward to my visits here :) Sometimes theyre busy and theres a good wait but it is soooo worth it.

Went here for my first ear piercings and enjoyed my visit. Both piercers are very nice and made me feel comfortable during a slightly uncomfortable operation, as I am not fond of needles. Will visit again if I ever need another piercing!

Got a tattoo here by Aldo with a group of 5 and he was amazing! Great communication before and during the session. Can’t even express how awesome and patient he was throughout. Had to get a piercing checked on after i got it done from what i found to not be a reputable place. Everyone was professional and polite and the environment was incredibly welcome. I felt very welcomed and safe and had all my worries put at ease by rikki. Shop smelled like alcohol and cleaning products and the shop looked spotless with amazing decor. Amazing quality jewelry as well.

Ive been to this shop two times and both times Ive left extremely frustrated & disappointed. Since the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, I thought they may have been having a bad day during the first visit and wanted to give them another chance. Unfortunately, the second chance was a huge waste of time. During both visits, at least one employee was rude or dismissive to me. For the second visit, all I needed was help replacing some jewelry. The employee that greeted me stated there would be a little bit of a wait & I told him that would be fine, assuming that a little bit would be about 30-45 minutes max. After waiting for a good while, I asked for a time estimate for when I would be able to be helped so I could determine if I should leave & try at a later time. The piercer let me know that she was just about to help me & that she would call me in between piercings to put the jewelry in. She then did 3 different individuals piercings without acknowledging me. I waited an hour & a half for a service that takes approximately 2-3 minutes and still wasnt helped. Personally, if I were waiting for a service that would take 15+ minutes and another person needed something that would take less than 5, I would expect the business to attempt to clear the line by taking people that had been waiting for the shorter service for an extended time. If the wait time had been accurately portrayed, I could have chosen to come back at a later date. After the 1.5 hour wait & having a third individual called back after being told I would be helped, I decided that they had wasted enough of my time & I wasnt interested in supporting the business any longer. The service I received was extremely unprofessional, & if reasonable expectations had been communicated I would have no issue. Im giving two stars because the piercer seemed really sweet & I think I would enjoy working with her under different circumstances.

Spoke to the piercer there the day before going because I was getting piercings done for my birthday. Price of what I quoted totally different than when I arrived. Got piercings and one piercing never healed right. When finished with piercing told me they didnt have any after care solution spray was told to just get over the counter spray . After a few days one was feeling funny I thought nothing of it kept using solution and cleaning it as instructed. After a few weeks the ear was still bleeding and never stopped messaged the piercer never got a response from them went to someone different and was told piercing was infected. People there were nice and was recommended from someone to go there since it was my first piercing. I dont plan on going back for any future piercings or work. Hope this helps anyone.

Shea was awesome! He fixed my cartilage a few weeks ago after a bad allergic reaction to some low quality jewelry I had purchased elsewhere. Yesterday he pierced my tragus and rook. He was efficient, skilled and answered all my questions and talked me through everything. I will aim to go back to Shea for all my piercing needs! This shop is also awesome because you get a free check up to make sure everything is healing properly.

I had a great experience getting a second lobe piercing here by Shea! It was very refreshing to have a piercer who knew what they were doing after I had an awful first piercing experience at a different place. Everyone was very friendly and hospitable and the shop was clean. Will definitely be coming here for future piercings.

My artist was Casey and she worked with me on a Pride piece that they designed. I drove up from South Carolina and they did not disappoint! Theyre SUPER professional and knowledgeable. They told me about caring for the tattoo afterwards to give it the longest life and walked me through everything that she was doing to keep me in the loop. Didn’t even go in here for an actual piercing, just looking at jewelry. The girl at the counter was very unhelpful and didn’t answer any of the questions that I had. Just basically told me I shouldn’t change my piercing yet, even though I was just asking about the jewelry and what specifically might fit my septum ring the best. She ignored me and turned around to attend to something else. Really loved the jewelry and would have purchased, but didn’t get any real response and was left just standing there. I’ll give two stars because the tattoo artist that greeted me was very friendly.

I needed some new nipple rings & called prior to walking in to ensure I could check out their jewelry quickly & without an appointment. I had to wait nearly 40 minutes to even look at stones because they kept forgetting to grab them from the piercing room when it was open/ someone was not getting pierced. I’m sure they do great work but this was pretty annoying and a waste of my time.

Both Christian and Rikki are professional and sanitary with the tools they handle. Got my first piercing with no wait and was taken care of very well and friendly.

Super chill young adult atmosphere. Just got two small tattoos. Small shop. Kind, hard working men. Not super inviting, but what punk type of place is? Only concern is that the guy didnt sanitize my skin before he started tattooing. Cost was $130...$30 less than what he originally told me.

My daughter wanted her nose pierced for her 16th birthday and they were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Took great care of us even though we showed up with 7 people to witness it.

I am not sure about the other artists in the shop, but ZEUS, though he is a good artist, is highly unprofessional. I chose ZEUS with intentions of getting a few tattoos over the span of 3 months. The first two experiences were fine, but my visits after that were ridiculous. I arrived at the shop for the next scheduled tattoo, but the door was locked. Something personal had come up, but he failed to contact me to tell me not to come in. Waste of my time. In short, there were multiple times where I came in at my scheduled time and left without a tattoo. Waste of my time. Here are just some of the excuses that he gave me: 1. I passed out when I got home last night, so I was not able to draw your tattoo.; 2. I lost your stencil; 3. (AFTER placing the stencil on my forearm)I do not have time to complete this tattoo because I have to pick up my son at 1pm and my appointment was supposed to be from 9am-2pm. He is very disorganized and does not take responsibility or ownership of his mistakes/negligence. One time, he even had to someone else to tattoo during the time of my appointment and had me wait. Yet, he will proceed to say that it is on you whether you get tattooed or not. He requires a $50 deposit so that he can prioritize your art, however, because he is unable to balance his personal life and his business life, he will be trying to work on your art at last minute resulting in a underwhelming tattoo sketch forcing you to have to postpone the appointment. My last experience was horrible. After deciding to try to just work with him as best as a could, I came in a second time get the forearm done (a design that I drew on my own, being so fed up with the excuses). After having to re-manipulate the design the day of (as he misplaced the first stencil), he laid the stencil on my arm. The first placement was not centered, and the second try was slightly curved. Being that tattoos are permanent and your forearm is a prominent place on your body, I wanted to make sure I loved it. Instead of taking the attitude of its your body and I will not start the tattoo until you love it, which old ZEUS would have said, he blows up at me and says that he doesnt even feel excited to do my tattoo anymore. I leave AGAIN without a tattoo. It is not worth the frustration of working with him. I regret trying to work with him despite is unprofessionalism. It was a huge waste of time.

Rikki and Christian were friendly and welcoming and helped me feel comfortable for my first piercing, which Im super happy with!

I was a little nervous but this place came highly recommended to me and while I got pierced I could see why!

I highly recommend Hillsborough St for piercing. Diligent cleaning process and Christian talked though every step. Very comfortable throughout the process and no issues after the piercings.

Everyone here is fantastic. Im in love with my newest tattoo from Patrick and will continue coming back time after time. Really relaxed atmosphere and just a pleasure to visit. 13/10

I honestly don’t know how anyone could give this place a bad review. The people there are not only professional, but super chill and easy to talk to. They do great work, both tattoos and piercings. I’d recommend this place to anybody because they are just that good.

I called because I had a concern about a tongue web piercing I had done at a different place. The women on the phone who was their piercer let me send her pictures and videos and she checked it out. Gave me professional advice and was super nice!

If you park in a soave that doesnt belong to them, when you get ready to leave, theres a boot on your car tire. There is a $75 charge to get your vehicle back. The owner, Rickey Goodwin doesnt take responsibility for contracting with this company to make additional money in order to keep this business running. Be careful patronizing

Patrick is the man! Most people may know him for his color or anime style, but he did an AMAZING job on my recent black and grey realism whole arm sleeve. From shouoder to wrist! Got to know him pretty well, considering it was 20+ hrs. He takes his time to get it right, attention to detail, but more importantly is receptive to what I wanted.
