Artist was Samson. Great guy and AMAZING WORK. Always making sure that i was doing alright. as someone who has epilepsy i have trouble holding still i do tremor a lot uncontrollably and he has done the best line work ive gotten. Really worked with me despite me being anxious and kinda cloudy he was very patient and all around pleasant dude.10/10 even got a juice box for good behavior.(Im not the best with taking pictures but the work is amazing cant wait until the next appointment!)

Great place to get tattoos, the artists were cool and the tattoo roulette was super fun. Price was reasonable for quality.

I just want to say how amazing of an artist Sam is. This is a tattoo that has meant a lot to me since the day my son was born, and he not only did exactly what I imagined but he went above and beyond what I imagined he put so much time and effort into designing this piece for me and it really the World to me if you want tattoo artist that cares about your tattoo as much as you do definitely go to Sam at convicted designs. I promise You won’t be sorry. Not only is Sam amazing but the whole team is. They treat you like family and try to make you as comfortable as can be throughout your entire process. Again, I would just like to reiterate, thank you Sam so much for this beautiful piece. I am so excited and grateful to carry this with me for the rest of my life.

I have gotten work done here in multiple times from a couple different artists. They’ve always been extremely polite. And I have been very satisfied with all of the work I have gotten done the Samson touched up my fingers and made them look like an actual tattoo after another tattoo shop completely butchered them.

I got work done by samson a couple days ago, he and all his staff were so amazing! very friendly from the start , he made sure to get everything ready right in front of me and took plenty off time making sure the designs were perfect and that i loved them. will definitely come back:)

Samson absolutely killed it with my piece this weekend. I was a little nervous cause I’d just met him, but he succeeded my expectations. Shop was clean and everyone was super nice. Samsons a straight baller and he definitely gained a repeating customer. Will definitely be seeing him again.

My husband and I came through the area this past weekend and wanted to get tattoos. Samson not only got us in but stayed after hours to do so. He did great work and was all around a great guy. We will be back!

Overall an amazing experience, I hadnt gotten a tattoo for awhile and was pretty nervous but instead of dismissing it Samson made sure I was good and continued to check up on me throughout the whole tattoo. Samson was cool af. My sister and I needed to get in for a matching tattoo before I had to leave town and he got us in 2 hours after they closed that same night to make sure we could get them. Me and my 14 year old daughter got our nose piercing done together on April 2nd. I brought her birth certificate and all identification needed for my daughter to get her nose pierced. They took a copy of her birth certificate to put on file. Everything went well, but I was impressed that I wanted to video my daughter getting her nose pierced to send to her dad that was deployed and has not been home in almost 6 months and I was told no to recording and no to taking any pictures. Made an appointment 5 weeks later to have our nose piercing changed out. When we arrived they would not take the piercing out because I didnt bring my daughters birth certificate, it did not matter that they already had a copy of her birth certificate on file from when she got her nose pierced 5 weeks prior. It was very frustrating that they did not mention anything prior to the appointment that I needed to bring the birth certificate they already had on file to take out the piercing they already pierced her with.

On a family vacation and 3 of us got tattos. CJ did ours and he was AMAZING!! Great vibe, funny, good company, and very talented. Thanks guys!

Samson was able to squeeze me in to help add to my half sleeve. He was super professional and helped me design my piece. His work area was clean and organized. Samson is quick and his details are flawless. It’s nice to not sit for hours and hours. Would totally recommend for someone who is getting their first tattoo or 10th tattoo. This is by far the best tattoo shop Ive been to. Ive gotten work done by Dan both times Ive been here and Ive been more than satisfied each time. This last time I was in I was able to talk to Samson about my next tattoo idea and got it booked. Ive heard nothing but great things about his work and Im so stoked for my appointment. Everyone is also super friendly at this shop! I will always recommend this shop for anyone whos looking to get new ink.

Sam is very down to earth, funny, generous, and he does great, clean work. Ive been to a lot of artists and the best way I can sum it up is if you care about your real estate and your experience, this is the place to go. Super respectful, clean, and fun. As a bonus he also cleaned up some of the crappier small stuff I had and I thought that was awesome! I went to Convicted Designs to get my first tattoo and my tongue pierced. Sam did a fantastic job on my tattoo, and I will definitely be going back to him when I get my other ones. April did really well on my tongue piercing as well. I would definitely recommend going here if you are looking for amazing artists with so much talent. I’m so happy with my results.

Went to get my daughter’s ears pierced and April was amazing!!! She was so kind and relaxing with my daughter. She took her time to make sure the piercing would be where my daughter wanted them. We went to their new spot up in hill city and it looks awesome!!! Everyone there was so friendly.

I came here for a bridge piercing and it went really well! April really took her time getting the placement markings and the actual piercing it self was really smooth and did not hurt at all. Definitely coming back again in the future

This was the first time I was in the shop. The amazing artists were very informative and kind. I got a couple of small tattoos done by Jay and he did an amazing job! It was late in the afternoon and a couple of hours til closing, but he was able to take care of what I wanted! He was very patient with my specifications and designs and we had great conversations while he was getting to work on the art I wanted done. I spoke with the owner, Samson, saw his awesome free hand skills and set up an appointment with him a couple of months down the road. I also plan to go back to see Jay again for some more artwork before I head out of Rapid. Great shop and I highly recommend!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I gotten three tattoos in this shop from different artists, and Ive always left happy with my experience. A week ago I got a tattoo reworked by Siege, and he understood exactly the style I wanted and turned it into what I originally hoped it would be. Hes a great artist, and Im excited to go back!

The guys at Convicted were all awesome. Samson did a half sleeve six hour session on me. The work went well and came out amazing. Their shop is clean and super organized. I do appreciate the short notice session, being able to work with me on the design and gave me honest feedback on some of my designs. 10/10 would get work done here again.

Samson is awesome! I needed some shading done on a forearm piece and he had no issue making it his own! We even added in a shark! Very professional, kind, and works in a timely manner to get the job done quick, yet, look amazing all at once!

I called in last Sunday to get matching tattoos with two of my friends. Samson was very welcoming and made me feel super comfortable during the entire process as it was my first tattoo. We were able to have a really nice conversation and it made everything go smoothly. I would definitely go back to get my other planned tattoos done! All of the employees are sweet and care about their clients and their needs. Samson made sure I got mine done first because of my latex allergy and it was a wonderful experience.

Trey was amazing! We did 11 tattoos in a matter of an hour and a half and he made every moment enjoyable. Even when compromised he ensured I was comfortable. He is no questions asked talented and an outstanding artist. I cannot wait to come back for some more work thank you Trey!

If only I had the option to give a ten star rating! I am from out of state and Convicted Designs managed to squeeze me and my friend into the schedule before we had to head home. Samson did a phenomenal job on my tattoo. I walked in, gave him my idea, and he drew it on me without any hesitation. He gave great advice on placement because I wasnt sure exactly how I wanted it positioned. He had a great sense of humor the whole time we were there and is so respectful. I had so much fun while I was waiting and while I was getting my tattoo. Samson, I will see you next year when I come back to South Dakota.

I am leaving a one star review because I needed my marriage license for my daughter to get a piercing that was not communicated to us over the phone as much as he repeated him self in the store that he told us we needed a marriage license it was not communicated to us when the apt was made. Thats okay we went over to a different shop and he looked at my ID and my daughters birth certificate and said we were fine. And kind of laughed at the situation. It was my daughter birthday and we tried to plan and call and see what was all needed and we were not told the right things unfortunately.

Myself and two family members made an appointment a week in advance, had given a brief description of what we wanted, the day finally came around we had decided we wanted more than we planned, I wasn’t convinced we would be able to work it out since it wasn’t planned prior. Samson was incredible, he allowed us to get what we desired although the shop was closing soon. My sister is special needs and got her first tattoo and he was so calming and supportive. We are all very pleased with our tattoos and the adaptive staff and overall quality of Convicted ink. Highly recommend! S/O to Samson!

Very professional and nice, got me in at a nice time and didnt stay long, as it was nice and quick! Tattoo came out amazing, too! Tre did my and my Mas tattoos, they both have nice clean lines, beautiful lettering, and are super crisp! Totally visiting again!

Josh did great and I’ll definitely be back to see him. I brought in a mediocre picture because a reference with a new artist makes me feel safer, but gave him free reign to change it and wanted pops of teal. Not only did he make the perfect changes to fit it to my hand without losing the initial look, but he did more color than I’d expected and it brought the whole thing up another level. I was so impressed. He also did a great job freehanding a design on me and then eliminating the part that was too busy because I couldn’t place exactly what it was but he instantly showed me what he wanted to take out and it made the overall end result much better since my hands and wrists are very small. I also love his touch up policy. It’s one of the best ones I’ve come across for sure.

I wanted to get this tattoo for a very long time and I’ve been to the shop before for one tattoo. So I thought this would be the perfect place! Super clean inside, Sam was very cool and calm (which you want out of your tattoo artist), and the tattoo came out better than I even expected. Will be definitely sticking with this place!

Awesome shop! I’ve been tattooed at over a dozen shops and Convicted is hands down one of the best/favorite I’ve been too. The staff is laid back and fun, lots of laughter and no ego. They are honest and knowelegable. I highly recommend them for anyone whether it’s your first or hundredth tattoo. Great people, great work.

January 22, 2024, both my mom and I got tattoos at Convicted Designs Tattoo & Piercing, that were done by Trey. The top half of my tattoo was supposed to be shaded in, and the bottom half was supposed to be kept open, which is what I approved. After we were halfway done with my tattoo, Trey said he was doing a little more shading to make it look more western, I was thinking he was creating a faded look into the bottom half. After the tattoo was done and I looked at it, the entire tattoo was shaded in, which is not what we agreed on. He did not ask for my permission before making this change. My mom got a floral tattoo with color. My mom also approved the stencil. Trey left out 2 big flowers that my mom wanted in the tattoo and also left out a color that she wanted. He said he made small changes to the tattoo to fit more to her. Trey and my mom do not know each other and Trey did not ask for my mom’s permission before making these changes. In my opinion, if you are giving someone a tattoo you need to discuss what changes you would like to make with the customer before doing what you want, considering tattoos are permanent. My mom nor I will be going back to Trey and will possibly not return to Convicted Designs Tattoo & Piercing.

My girls n I had a fantastic experience here. Live what they do n what theyre all about. Recovery is an important part of what they do and is also important in my life. Which was a huge part of why we chose them. 1st tattoos for all of us. So happy with them!!!!!!

We came from out of state and had a really great time with Chase the apprentice. He was very patient, flexible and knowledgeable! We had a lot of fun and both love our new tattoos!

Very disappointed with my last session. I had paid for an appointment from 12-5 to finish a large piece. When I arrived at 12 he was not ready for me so I had to wait. He stopped at 4:10, not 5. During that short time he took 3 cigarette breaks and a lunch break. I am now about $1700 (plus tips) in on this piece and still not finished.

I recently got my nostril pierced at another shop in town and it fell out due to being ill fitting. So I called Convicted Designs and they got me in immediately and April was so awesome and kind to fix me right up with a solid piece. I just moved here from Denver and Ive been pierced many many times, I will be going back here for future piercing needs. I originally wanted to get this done here in the first place but the day I called they couldnt get me in and I should have just waited. Dont do what I did, come here first. Also I really appreciate that everyone I spoke to was friendly and inviting. The shop itself is clean, professional, and not cluttered or dark.

April had better bedside manner than most nurses I’ve met. My piercing hurt less than any shot I’ve ever experienced. No swelling. No scabbing.I mentioned I wanted a custom bar and they can give you all the info you need for that too.Seriously such a good experience. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I recently just got my first tattoo. I called ahead of time and then went in. Samson explained the whole process before, during and after the tattoo. I felt comfortable and it was a wonderful experience. The tattoo I got looked incredible and the detail looked amazing. I would recommend getting a tattoo from here. The shop was a part of a really important fundraiser this past Wednesday. They had a flash sale in support of a local suicide awareness and prevention non-profit. Samson did my tattoo and was more than willing to work with me to make an adjustment to make the tattoo more personal. He did a fantastic job and was nothing but professional. I will be returning to this shop and getting more ink! Samson is a fantastic and professional artist.

April is so awesome, obviously at her job, but just in life she’s so sweet and easy to talk to. She gave me a smiley piercing, and it was a call in and I was lucky to have gotten her. The stars aligned I guess. She also repierced my bottom belly button annnnddd that was just on a whim. I honestly felt little to no pain. I loved that she wanted to make sure that I had the anatomy for the smiley. The place is also clean, well taken care of. I got a tattoo from them and I like it. I decided to go to them again. I made an appointment and pay some money. They canceled on me . I rescheduled and there was a misunderstanding about what time it was. I told them it felt like a hustle and that I couldn’t made it because of the miscommunication. I wanted to get my money back but they refused telling me that was me paying for an appointment. That wasn’t explained to me since when I got my first tattoo that I didn’t have to pay . I would rather go someplace where they won’t canceled on me or tell me the wrong time. Waste of my time and my money

Dylan was my tattoo artist and he did an amazing job on a design I found on Pinterest. Made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Lynae did my boyfriends Frog and what a completion to the set she did. From the owners Sam and April down to the ones learning like Josh and Cyrus. They all were amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone. Can not wait for my next one to jump out at me.

Jay is awesome. He gave me a tattoo and after it healed, I felt like it needed a bit more highlights. He got me right in and not only added extra highlights, he also added more color. It looks amazing!

We have planned a couples tattoo for 20 years. We did hours (maybe months worth) of research. We came across Convicted Designs (and Sam) a few years ago, and watched his work. There was no one else we wanted to go to. We discussed our idea, and it was amazing to watch Sam draw up exactly what was in our head. The professionalism, the quality, cleanliness, atmosphere is above and beyond. They are respectful, and truly appreciate their clients. This will be our forever artist. If you require only the best, this is where you need to go. Dont accept less.

Called on Sunday, had no appointment and Josh was cool with doing them. Very professional, didnt even hurt he is so light handed. The piercings are exactly the same and the jewelry is way better quality then going to the mall. 100% recommend Josh. The environment alone was very clean and welcoming.

First tattoo and I’m so glad I went with this place. I got a design with the handwriting of a friend who passed away years ago, and I’m so happy with how the end result was. I have never went and reviewed a place faster. I just got done and Sam did my tattoo. He was absolutely amazing and did a wonderful job. He listened to what I wanted and showed me the progress every time he changed something while sketching it out. He always made sure I was okay and answered all my questions! He was very kind and allowed me to talk his ear off a bit so that I didnt think about the pain haha! He made sure I loved everything about the tattoo and edited it multiple times in the beginning to get it perfect before we started. It turned out amazing! Got a head tattoo from Tre for my 18th birthday. I have a latex allergy and he was very professional in handling it, showing me the nitrile gloves each time he put them on and removing latex from his station. Awesome shop :)

Best tattoo experience I’ve ever had!It’s been several years since my last tattoo, and I needed some help bringing things together. Samson did a fantastic job with the consult and I couldn’t be more satisfied with what we came up with. I had my first session with him today and look forward to the rest of the work ahead. I would recommend this shop to anyone. Some notes from my visit:- The shop is immaculate and the staff strictly follows required procedures and best practices- The price was great, especially the discount I received for being military- The entire staff was warm and friendly. I felt right at home.- Samson had a light hand and was quick with the work (without sacrificing quality). I’ve had some artists that drag the needle while working and I was miserable. I had some relatively tender areas worked on that I was dreading; I wish I had found this shop years ago.This review will be cross posted. Some friends and I wanted a spontaneous small tattoo on a girls trip. We called every tattoo parlor from hill city to rapid city and got turned down by every single place saying no walk ins, booked for 6-8 weeks out, etc. We found Convicted And called, losing hope After being shot down and April answered. Immediately she took care of us and got us in with Samson, the owner. He was amazing. One of us had never got a tattoo and he was superb working with all of us to make us comfortable and squeezing us into a small amount of time that he had available. Also, his shop is extremely clean, well managed and he takes every precaution possible explaining the process to you (even more now since Covid) everyone was very friendly and made us laugh and seemed to genuinely enjoy what they do. It made our whole trip, and we were pleased that the shop owners were cool with having fun with us. We would recommend this place again and again!

April helped me and my grandma get set up for my first tattoo, Samson was my artist and he made sure to tell me what he was doing, made sure I liked the full design and even made sure that I know the proper after care (went over it before, during and after my tattoo) and he made sure we were all set. Over all really friendly environment and everybody there was so nice and had 3 artists willing to do my tattoo, will for sure be coming back for any other tattoos and possibly even piercings I want!

I tend to be wary about going to a new tattoo shop but when my wife found Convicted Designs we decided to give it a shot. I was not disappointed. Everyone at the shop was very courteous and professional while still keeping an atmosphere that keeps you wanting to go back. Been here multiple times. Each tattoo I have been satisfied with, each one needs a touch up after healing. Which I have not been accustomed to in the past, but have no qualm about returning for touch ups. My last tattoo(s) here, in order to get my touch up I will be driving to another location where the artist has moved to , which isnt entirely bad. Instead of an hour drive to get to an appointment I only need to go 30min.

Can’t speak on the work done here, but very unprofessional practices and they wasted 2 hours of my life. Called them just before 5 pm on Monday asking about buying a piercing that broke, they told us to come on in, we mentioned we were driving from spearfish. We got there at about 5:50 pm and they locked the doors on us even though the sign said open until 7 pm. I get business can be slow especially Mondays and people close up early, but don’t tell a customer that they are good to come on in when you know the doors will be locked when they arrive. Waste of gas and time.

Came in for a walk in today and Dylan was able to get me in right away, told him I wanted a turtle and flowers and he drew up a beautiful turtle with a rose in it, even put color in it and it turned out so good! Im very happy with the finished results!

I came in a while ago, no one was up front at the desk; which i had no problem with waiting. around five minutes have passed when a lady comes from the back, i ask her if the shop can sell ink to someone looking to practice more as i’ve gotten tired of ordering online. she laughs in my face and says “why would you need ink?” not sure what else tattoo ink would be used for. i then tell her i have a tattoo gun at home already, to which she laughs again and says “yeah that’s a greeaatt idea.” a simple “sorry, we don’t sell ink to unlicensed artists.” would’ve sufficed. instead chose to be very rude when i was nothing but polite after waiting.

My sister and i loved our tattoos samson did. he helped customize them to our liking and we were done within 40 mins. definitely recommend

They really make your tattoo experience a great memorable one. It was fast clean and not nearly as painful as I thought!! I got a custom tattoo and my artist Chase was very professional and got what I wanted done and done amazingly well.

I came in for my first visit and consultation for a piercing in April. I left with a Rook piercing and left for a trip to Chicago. It was painful but I expected there to be healing time.Over the next weeks the pain not only intensified but spread and made the entire top of my ear hurt. When I called to have it removed they told me that those take extra time.I finally ended up having to have it removed by another shop. After the removal, it made total sense why it wasnt healing. I was told that it wouldnt have mattered what I did, the piercing was so shallow there was no way my ear wasnt going to reject it.This is the second shop that Ive had this issue with and Im absolutely sure that any further piercings I get will NOT be in Rapid City.See photo for the placement.Edit: people cant respond to your questions on their reviews. Second Im sorry you feel that way is a non-apology from your end. It isnt about how I feel, its about paying money and tipping well and ending up with such a shoddily placed piercing that I have to take it out. I apologize is a complete sentence. Offering to correct it would be good business. April was my piercer and I didnt even include that the jewelry she switched out has also fallen out. There was a Tragus in that ear and a conch in the other that have both fallen out. It would be good to take some classes in how to validate your customers feelings because Im sorry you feel that way is definitely not it.

This place was awesome! I got a tattoo on the back of my neck and it couldn’t have gone better. The guy who tattooed me was super cool, he showed me the needle he was going to use before opening it out of the package and he cleaned the chairs in between clients. All in all he did and amazing and thorough job, would totally come back again

Horrible customer service. They tried to change the price on me after it was written up as a certain amount which we have proof then we were told they dont do satanic tattoos after i said I cant afford to pay more. It was literally the anti possession symbol from the supernatural tv show. We did not get our deposit back when they themselves canceled our session. This tattoo was supposed to be a gift for my wife who is my world and an active duty military member. We work hard for our money and dont see giving it to businesses as deposits for nothing received. This was a totally avoidable situation and we are completely flabbergasted by the service we received. The guy told my wife nah bruh is this the supernatural tattoo we told your husband he had two weeks to come get the deposit back which is not true. We will make a point to let all of our military friends and coworkers know of the disrespect. Thank you for allowing me to rant.

Im from Chicago and found this hidden Gem. As soon as I walked in, the atmosphere was what I was looking for. Juan greeted me and I immediately picked up on the positive energy unlike most other tattoo parlors. I presented my idea to Juan and he was juat as excited about it as I was.
