I may have just got my first piercing ever with Shar, but I have to say I could NOT imagine a better piercing experience than the one I got with her. She was incredibly knowledgeable, insightful, and truly went above and beyond to make me comfortable during the whole process. It helps that shes such a treat to speak to, she has a knack to make you feel comfortable that I envy and its one of the several reasons why I will be coming back for any kind of piercing service I might require.

Highly recommend Shar! She was super sweet and offered quality jewelry for my conch piercing (the star in the center). She really knows what she’s doing and it shows in her craft.

Shar does an incredible job explaining everything patiently and clearly. I felt totally safe in her professional hands. Her shop is beautiful and she of course used every sanitation requirement. I left informed on aftercare and with no pain from my septum piercing. Go check her out!

I’ve been wanting some piercings for years, so at the age of 52, I decided to go for it. After researching different piercing shops in Northern California, I decided on Velvet Orange Bodycraft in Redding. I could not have chosen a better shop! The owner, Shar, is not only a genuinely nice person, she is experienced and extremely talented at piercing. The shop is very clean, well stocked, organized and professional. Shar’s attention to detail shows in her work. Shar has done 8 piercings (so far) over the last 6 months between both of my ears; 2-helix, 4-lobes, 1-rook, and 1-inner conch. I am currently at 6 gauge on my lower lobs, which I will keep increasing in size. Highly recommend Velvet Orange Bodycraft!

So I went here to get my forward helix done. It was SUPER painful. She didn’t have the correct tools with her at the time of piercing so the the piercer left a plastic catheter in my ear for a while while rummaging around with her free hand to grab a metal catheter. Which also got stuck. Overall a very uncomfortable process. I was told to visit an APP piercer in 2-3 weeks to have the bar shortened once swelling went down. When I did this, the piercer told me my piercing was all sorts of messed up and would never heal properly. She told me I should have it taken out as it was touching my rook, was crooked, and at a tilt along with a few other issues dealing with the way the jewelry was set. When I called velvet orange to alert them of this they were super dismissive and treated me like *i* should have been the professional and seen this before leaving their shop. The piercing was done incorrectly and that was no fault of my own. I followed cleaning and care procedures only to pay $90 to have my forward helix piercing not work out. Super disappointing. When I asked for a refund the person I talked to didn’t even provide a sense of empathy or care for what happened but rather acted defensive. This was the most painful and uncomfortable piercing process I’ve been through and I currently have 11 other piercings in my ears including rook, conch, helix, and tragus.

Shar is super down to earth and made me feel comfortable getting my first piercing. Her shop is very clean and cute. She is very knowledgeable and was able to fit me in on a short notice. Her pricing is upfront and affordable. I will definitely be visiting her again and recommending her to others❤️

Very nice place, owner did the actual job on our visit. She is very knowledgeable and not afraid to turn down business if she knows a piercing will not work for you. I respect that, even though one of the two people that went in with us was disappointed she could not receive a piercing she wanted. Most places would just not say anything, do the piercing, take the money, and let you deal with the consequences. She takes pride in her work, is clean and sanitary, site is nicely maintained.

Shar is, hands down, the most experienced piercer in town. Her shop is so cute and I have always felt comfortable inside. Every two weeks I treat myself to a new piercing from this shop and I am always ecstatic with the outcome. Thanks for the good time!

Always a wonderful experience with Shar. Very professional and makes you feel welcome and comfortable. She has done many of mine and my daughter’s piercings, wouldn’t see anyone else.

Shar was very knowledgable. We trusted her creative eye and were not dissappinted. The prices were reasonable and her passion for the craft was evident. This is the only piercing business I plan to go to in the future.

I would definitely go here again for any of my or my family members piercing needs. Getting my piercings done here was so simple and easy. I am an anxious person and Shar talked me through everything the first time and let me know exactly what to expect, educated me a bit more about piercings and how to care for them, and made sure I was completely comfortable through the whole process. So far, I have gotten both of my earlobes done here and two helixes. One helix I got done a month ago, but it just got angry and inflamed a few days ago due to me starting to lay on it at night (just how my ear is naturally healing, no relation/fault at all on Velvet Orange!). I texted Shar and she got me in the same day to make sure we got a longer post on there to give it some more space again to swell and go back down. She is super responsive and helpful through her Instagram page, and is clearly willing to go out of her way for the wellbeing and happiness of her clients! I also have a couple other family members and close friends who have had only excellent experience here. Probably the best piercing place you could go to in town!

This is an amazing place to be pierced. Shar exudes confidence and competency. She’s been piercing for a very long time and I totally trust her expertise. She pierced my septum and it came out perfectly straight and with minimal pain. The shop low key and calm, well maintained and comfortable. Will 100% go back.

Shar is the absolute best there is in piercing. I wouldnt trust anyone else for me and my familys piercing needs. She provides the most welcoming and sterile environment and goes above and beyond to create a positive and fulfilling experience.

I am so so glad I came here. I’ve had a rough time with bad jewelry, bad piercers etc. After coming here I don’t trust anyone, but Shar to do my piercings. After our first appointment I immediately made another one, she has such a light hand and the jewelry quality is the best. Her and Delia are both so knowledgeable about body jewelry too. Made me feel really welcome and comfortable!

I went there today hoping to get my belly button pierced again since Id gotten a tummy tuck a couple years ago. She looked at my belly button and advised that I shouldnt do it. She was honest and very knowledgeable. I really appreciate her and even though I didnt get a piercing I would definitely recommend her to anybody that is looking!

Shar is the only person I will go to for piercings. She is super nice and great at what she does! I recommend her to everyone and my friends also see her. Their shop is super cute too.

Shar is amazing! Took my daughter to get her septum done and she was really nervous. Shar talked with her made her comfortable and knew exactly how to deal with her personality. Definitely the only place Ill go to.
