Dominant Ink

I love Dominant ink. So far, Ive had multiple sessions with Jason working on a sleeve, and he did matching tattoos for me and my sister. I was lucky to grab one of Martins custom fairies. Ive also had my angel fangs done by Pam, their piercer. If you are looking for a group of people who love their work and put pride into everything they do, this is the shop for you.

This is an amazing shop with great owners who make you feel very comfortable. I’ve had two completed tattoos done by Martin. One was a cover up of a tattoo I wasn’t so proud to have on my body and Martin didn’t judge at all! he was very kind, professional and helpful. I have another on my calf I need to go back and have finished by his wife she does beautiful work. They are both great artist and I can’t wait to get more work done here.-faithallee

By far the kindest and humble people that alone makes the experience awesome, but then the quality of work is amazing. You will never worry about receiving a bad tattoo. It is always a great experience wether it’s your first tattoo or 20th. They become family to all their clients. Martin is my dude. His hand it so light and he wastes no time getting beautiful artwork on your body. Love them!

Got my snake bites done by Pamela. I also got my other tongue pierced by dominant ink 8years ago. Pamela was very precise and very good at explaining what is going on and how to take care of the piercing. I highly recommend them.

I went to Martin carver for my tattoo and was more than impressed. His work was amazing his prices are very fair and the atmosphere was very clean and relaxing. I week be going back there for all of my tattoos

I left a review a year ago for an artist who worked there for only a couple of weeks . At the time I thought i was going to have a beautiful new tattoo but she flaked and kept rescheduling I even prolonged my stay in Redding to get my work finished and left a review for her early into my work. What I should have mentioned is what a great place this is and how many truly amazing artists there are who are completely professional starting with the owners . Hillary was always a gracious and amazing host in welcoming us in and super friendly she is such a talented artist and so cool and layed back. I recommend any one of these talented artists and apologize for not doing that in the first place ! If I could remove my review on the person who did my work I would because she was not professional and I feel she started working there thinking she could run game on the owners who certainly didnt deserve what she tried to do

Amazing work time and time again, the artists, the customer service, is all unmatched, they immediately make you feel welcome and comfortable, checking in you during the tattoo, offering breaks etc. If you’re looking for any type or style of tattoo this is really the place to go. Will not go to any other artist after them. Amazing.

I had my birthday party here last weekend and it was awful. Not only did I pay 350$ to have the shop to myself and not revive that (Martian was talking to a walk in consultation for at least 20 minutes while my friend was waiting to get tattooed) but they also were super inconsistent with their pricing and it felt like they were upset because I didn’t bring the full 15 people. When we first got there it felt very rushed to get started when i had the shop for 8 hours, Hilary was super nice but Martin was very abrupt and rude not just to me but to everyone I had invited. I had to ask Martin to fill in part of my tattoo that he did and I could tell he was getting upset with me when I kept asking him to tweak the tattoo I was getting before he put the stencil on. Also they didn’t have anyone sign consent forms until after they got tattooed and my mom didn’t even end up getting to sign one. It just felt like we were an inconvenience to Martin. Again Hillary was a sweetheart and did what she could to make the day good

Hands down the best tattoo shop in town, Martin and Hillary are amazing artists and make you feel welcomed and at ease while being tattooed. The work they provide is top notch. They have the best shop I have ever seen with tons of unique and great priced merchandise and I just love the wholeset up of their business. If you are looking for amazing and talented artist that provide a clean and safe tattoo environment look no further. I highly recommend this shop for all your tattoo needs. Also their merchandise is a plus you can find such unique items that you cant find in town anywhere else. I cant say enough good things about them and their business go check themout..

I have yet to get a tattoo or piercings from here yet. However I inquired with some questions and was promptly replied to and treated with kindness! I am looking forward to getting some work done soon. I actually ran into a girl today at my doctors appointment and complimented her beautiful new flower tattoo on her arm, she said it was done by Martin at Dominate Ink. I was impressed to say the least. I cant wait!

I’ve been going to this tattoo shop for about a year I’ve had five additional tattoos added on by Joel, and I have one added by Martin the owner. Their service is amazing. They talk to you as if you’re one of their friends they stay super connected with you when you need a touchup they’re right there to set you an appointment and get you squared away they’ve been An amazing tattoo shop and I would 100% tell anybody about them over any of the other tattoo shops in this town. I appreciate all the great work they have Done and once we have planned for the future, all of their artists are amazing. Those are just two that I personally had i Tattoos done from. Atmosphere in the building is amazing and overall it’s the best place in Reading in my opinion. Ill be adding a few of the tattoos they did for me.

Such a great experience! i came in with a friend for their Valentines Day flash and we felt so welcome! The atmosphere of the shop was 10/10 and the overall experience of the getting the tattoos was one of the best. Hilary and Martin are such good people, definitely recommend this shop for any one whether its your first tattoo or your 25th.

I got a tattoo from Martin and he did a great job. He was fast but not in a rushed type of way. His wife seems really nice too. I love the shop it’s got a cool vibe. Love my tattoo and I would definitely recommend.

Hillary is a good friend of mine as well as her husband Martin. I have nothing but great experiences with them. I have only gotten 1 tattoo from Martin because I moved from California to New york. They are the best tattoo shop in the Northstate. Martin and Hillary are so nice and they listen to what you want, gives you ideas when youre unsure, and is very talented and knowledgeable. All of the artists there do such great work. Their piercer Pam is gentle and very knowledgeable with piercings. She helped guide me when my body was rejecting the piercing.

Seriously the best tattoo shop ever. They are fast and talented along with very clean! I went to martin for my very first tattoo, Dwayne for my second and third and hillary for my fourth and all have been absolutely amazing experience!

The work done here is amazing with the artists being able to do several different types/styles of tattoos. Ive gotten tattoos from 3 of the artists and they all have turned out amazing. They offer payment plans, to pay the tat off before you get it, so that you can pay at your convenience and that you dont feel overwhelmed to have all the money up front. There is a $50 deposit for all tattoos and it ends up being put toward your overall tattoo total. Out of my 12 tattoos 9 if them are from artists from Dominant Ink. Ive also gotten pierced twice so far from here (nose and anti-eyebrow) and they were both done amazingly. Sadly my body rejected one piercing, but thats my body being mean. Ive been getting tattooed by Dominant Ink for years now and its the only shop Ill go to. Its a clean and friendly/professional environment. The shop in front has all kinds of fun things that you can buy as well as the artists portfolios that you can take a peek at.

I got my first tattoo at Dominant Ink, at first I was nervous however, Dwayne calmed me down with my nerves to get my tattoo! However, my skin was very irritated during the tattoo, and it led to bruising. The shop was very understanding, and I ended up getting a discount for a cover-up from my ribs, down to my stomach for my tattoo which was offered and done by the owner Martin! I love my tattoo so much and I would recommend Dominant Ink because of the job that they do and the line work and i would get another one done from them!

I’ve had all my tattoos done by the owner of this shop and I’ve never been disappointed! I’m constantly getting compliments on all my tattoos everywhere I go. I’m always happy to refer friends and strangers to this shop because I know they’ll be in great hands and will love whatever they get! I’ve also gotten pierced here and she was very helpful with answering questions on aftercare and helping with jewelry change!

Absolutely love Hilary and Martin! Martins has been doing a majority of my tattoos for the last two years. Amazing line work and he’s always excellent at shading! My friends and I have gotten a few tattoos here and absolutely love them. The artist are fantastic, they listen to what you want and work with you to come up with the best art for your body. Definitely would recommend 10 outta 10!

Personally I have never been to dominant ink, but have been wanting to book for a while, but the amazing reviews and knowledge from the staff makes me want to get inked up so badly! I’ve seen Martin and Hilary’s work and was absolutely astonished by how unique their artwork is, each one has a touch that really makes you want to place an appointment fast!

Awesome people who own and work at Dominant Ink highly recommend for tattoos or piercings, this last Saturday my niece and I got piercings done I got the Industrial piercing and my niece got her belly done. Then on Wednesday I got a tattoo done as well... very friendly people make you feel very comfortable.. will definitely be returning again...

As soon as you walk in, they are so helpful. There was a lady who helped me at the front with my piercing. She went over and above to help me in every way she could. I am going back for a tattoo. Their whole interior design is also very cool, very unique. They are on hilltop. 5 star for this shop!

I’ve been going to Martin since I was 18 and he was in red bluff of Main St. Now I’m getting work from his amazing wife Hillary. They both are amazing artists with fair pricing and good people. They also always have cool stuff in their shop and good music playing!

Of course I cant leave out Ryan! Ryan was fun to be around and most of all made triple sure I was happy with my tattoo before we finished up! I cant express how much that meant to me that he made sure I was happy and tweaked it to how I wanted! He is super nerdy but that is what made the experience more fun! I just love this shops vibe!

Every single time I step into dominant ink I am greeted with kind friendly faces and made to feel very welcome. I started going here about two years ago now. I have about 7 pieces done by both Martin and Hilary since! Martin is fast and thorough. Hilary has a very delicate hand. Fun atmosphere, uniquely their own. Love the music playing and what is on the tvs. Pam has also done my nipple piercings and she is a delight to talk to as well. Absoutely love the Dominant Ink crew, I always refer them near and far!

I haven’t had the opportunity to visit the shop yet but i am overly excited for my visit. I’ve been following all the artists on social media and the shops page! The artist always reply fast, keep up on posting their newest art and are detailed about prices and timing.

Elizabeth is such an amazing tattoo artist. Shes so personable, & attentive ,she listened to what I wanted, spent a couple of hours alone on consultation, and came up with this beautiful custom design that wraps around my arm to the front. She has a very light touch but still made sure I was comfortable as she worked on my arm. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I got my belly button pierced and oh my gosh it was horribly pierced! It was also extremely not straight and when I asked for a refund she said no!!! my belly button will forever be deformed because of their incapability to pierce. This is my piercing a few months later (almost a year) please don’t go here and go somewhere professional.

Ive gotten two tattoos here and both have not healed right. Went in to get a free touch up and they tried to charge me $50 for it. Said it wasnt worth their time. Never going back.

UPDATE: Josh now owns his own shop called Ink and Daggers here in Redding.Josh Gill did fantastic on my zebra thigh tattoo! He is fun, professional and a great artist. Even when the picture i brought him only showed half the tattoo he free handed the rest beautifully. I recomend Josh Gill to everyone who is looking for some sick ink!

This shop is top notch. Martin does amazing work. The shop is very clean and him and his wife are so caring. They make sure you are comfortable. The art is what brought me here but they were just down right good people which was a plus.

I came in today and got my ears pierced. I originally wanted a daith piercing but after taking a few measurements Pam was a little concerned about how I would like that specific piercing. I told her I like to wear ear buds and with how my ears are, the piercing could get in the way. Well Pam was so very helpful in finding a perfect piercing for me and telling me exactly what each piercing is called and I ended up getting another piercing as well. Pam is so knowledgeable and so patient and kind. I will be going to her for any future piercings and recommending her to everyone.

I went to Dominant Ink for a decently thought-out piece. Hilary (or Hillary sorry if I misspelled it!) was super accomadating and professional while scheduling and rescheduling appointments last minute! Martin put in some WORK and hit the damn marker on the head for exactly what I wanted and was looking for in my tattoo! The shop was clean, the environment was super chill and I could not be happier with my tattoo. Thank you guys so much!!!

I had the pleasure of having Brian help me decide and design a very nice memorial of my best friend and he nailed the shape of my dog perfectly and he made me skinny I would recommend seeing him or any of the talented artists for any and all your tattoo wants....

Had an appointment for 12, was messaged at 11:30 that they were running behind and needed to bump it. We agreed and came in anyways. I was quoted up to $300 because it could take up to 2 hours in person when I came out of my way to pay a deposit. He was done in 30 minutes and it looks rushed completely. When paying they told my husband $200 but never once stated that I paid the $50 deposit so in reality they should have stated $250, but $50 is already paid. He tipped $30 even after them changing his appointment and rushing the tattoo. I came back to ask what the deal was and if it was $200 or $250 because they never stated anything about the deposit to my husband and her story changed three times while I was there and she was rude and cut me off everytime I spoke. Would NOT recommend.

I came in to get a tattoo fixed. It had a lot of scar tissue, he seemed knowledgeable about what he was doing and why he was doing it. It came out looking Amazing!!! Very satisfied with his work and will come back to get more Tattoos. You should come check out his work.

The in-shop customer service was okay. I had a forearm piece done in early June. The artist, Martin, was artistically talented for sure. He was not very talkative throughout the appointment, his significant other was much more friendly. This doesnt necessarily bother me per se, it was just a lot different compared to some of the other artists Ive experienced, and Ive been to 6 artists now. Martin came up with an awesome design that I loved, so much so that he convinced me to put it in a different spot than I had asked, a more visible spot. Throughout the process, Martin was VERY heavy-handed and made a few mistakes that are still visible now. It was the most painful healing process I have ever been through, and I have gotten multiple pieces of this size and never had any out-of-the-ordinary issues. I was charged about $400 for a rushed piece because his next appointment had shown up, and instead of making another appointment, he decided to rush mine and in the end, it was a rough experience. I will attach pictures of my arm the day after. It was swollen, painful to move, and I honestly wished I could cut my arm off for about a week after, and have multiple places of scarring where it was over-worked to an extreme. I was honestly embarrassed of it for over a month, and still cover it up whenever I can. So, while I loved the design, the pain and agony was NOT worth it, especially for the price...

Honestly love my tattoo tbat i got done! They really do such an amazing job the artist(Russell Boeckholt)that did mine no longer works there but the owner (Martin Culver) does a wonderful job !
