I went to Sati for the first time in January for a nostril piercing. Akio is very knowledgeable and was great at answering all my questions. I feel very much at ease whenever I stop by. I have been back several times to purchase jewelry and even got another piercing. This is hands down the best piercing shop.

When I walked in the place smelled clean and looked spotless! Akio was very welcoming and friendly. The process was sanitary and quick. Everything looks great and I’m waiting to see how it heals but I was able to find all the information I needed off the website! I will definitely be coming back when I’m ready for my next piercings. Definitely check this place out!

Highly recommend Akio! He was so patient with our 6 year old, and assured her that he wouldn’t do anything until she was ready. He explained everything really well for the after care also. I cannot even put into words how awesome Christopher was. I called and talked to the owner who CALLED ME BACK after no answer. I went in for a nose piercing and he was absolutely great. He made sure I was comfortable and calm. He talked me through the entire process, with somehow even getting me to laugh (which is hard to do). This is 100% the place to go in roanoke. Very knowledgeable, professional, and clean. I have some pretty high anxiety going anywhere new and talking to new people but he made it so much easier by talking to me about random things and telling me step by step the process he was doing. Im glad I came here for my ear piercings! I trust him so much, I will be calling back for advice when I want to go up a size! And I will for sure be back for other piercings.

If you’re around Roanoke/Salem/Cave area hands down the best place to get piercings. I’ve had 4 facial piercings in spots known to have trouble healing (2 surface piercings; one under the side of each eye, bridge piercing and eyebrow) None of the piercings I’ve gotten done have rejected, gotten keloids or bled after getting them. Hell, most of them didn’t even bleed but a little bit when he initially did them. Within a couple weeks they looked like I’ve had them for years, even in the first week of healing they didn’t look fresh or irritated. Aiko is super knowledgeable about the work he does and definitely cares about his clients, he’s checked up on me multiple times asking how my piercings were healing up and thankfully I’ve always got to tell him no problems lol. Will definitely be getting more work done in the future. Oh and his shop is super clean and some cool decor. He’s very careful about how he sanitizes and cleans everything before doing a piercing as well.

Beyond pleased with Sati Piercing! Materials are properly sterilized with a very welcoming & clean facility. In-house jewelry is great quality & beautiful. My daughter had her top ear cartilage done & I had my nipples done (I must say, ADORABLE!). Akio was extremely professional/respectful while my upper body was exposed & made sure I was comfortable throughout the piercing process. He sticks quick which is absolutely appreciated! Kind sir also educated my daughter as she wanted to go too big for her 1st piercing (of course!). Super cool, easy-to-get-along with guy who will most certainly put a smile on your face! My wife and I went this last weekend to the Chicago tattoo expo we met up this fantastic professional piercer there! She’s got a daith and she is totally in love with it. It’s been a couple of days and the piercing is healing wonderfully. I got my septum done and was super nervous. My first attempt he was so busy I couldn’t even go in!!!! He got me in the next day for a consultation and was super informative! Very clean and professional piercer. My lobes had closed up and I hesitated for years getting them repierced because I developed OCD. I got 4 piercings done by Akio, all in one sitting (daith, double helix, and nostril). I didn’t have an appointment, and Akio was able to take me in. He did a fantastic job! He was quick, everything was sterile, and the jewelry is beautiful. It was relatively painless considering how professional he is. Akio is a trustworthy / safe piercer. I will definitely be back for some other piercings I have in mind, and will recommend him to anyone interested in getting pierced.

We brought our daughter in for a nose piercing 4 months ago. The professionalism that was exhibited was amazing. The fact that he was willing to tell our daughter that he couldnt do the piercing was exactly what this profession needs. He examined her nose and determined he could successfully do the piercing. The piercing has healed and not given her one problem. Just went back for another piercing today. Again all expectations were exceeded. Please dont waste your time our money going anywhere else. This is the place you want to go for all of your piercing needs.

My 11-year old twins had an amazing experience getting their ears pierced at Sati Piercing recently. One had hers done on New Year’s Eve and when her twin saw how painless it was, we went back and got her ears pierced this past weekend. Clean, professional, relates so well to kids and really is able to read them well and make them feel comfortable. Extremely knowledgeable about aftercare and takes time to explain it to the kids and the parents. I highly recommend Sati Piercing!! Definitely 5 stars!

To start, I really don’t write reviews so. I went in for a walk-in nostril piercing Jan 19th(septum was done elsewhere) and the experience was wonderful. He matches energy very well and is so nice, the shop is very clean and organized and he’s got an impressive assortment of fine jewelry. I got a walk-in nostril and septum done. Prior to my piercings, he returned my missed call in a timely manner and was very professional throughout our entire encounter. He communicated everything and was very patient while I picked my jewelry. During the actual piercings themselves, he talked me through everything and helped me breathe. Made an appointment same day, online for my first piercing in over 15 years. Akio is a professional, confident and knowledgeable piercer and business owner. He was easy to converse with, answered every question I had, helped me with jewelry selection and provided aftercare instructions that were easy to follow. The piercing itself was quick and virtually painless. The placement of my septum jewelry is PERFECT and I love it. Please be aware and respect that he currently requires masks be worn in the shop and will let you know when he needs you to remove it. I’ll definitely return in the future!

I don’t normally leave reviews but I noticed people were complaining about prices so I feel the need to clarify that the prices here are totally justified. Fancy special jewelry is going to be more expensive (obviously) but other than that the prices are very standard. If you want a cheap surgical steel piercing that is prone to infections and never heals, go for it. However, if you’d prefer a piercer who knows what they’re doing (and can give you a piercing you won’t regret), then don’t get mad at them for expecting fair compensation.

Visited the shop to have my nose ring changed out to a solid gold hoop. The jewelry selection is impeccable- high quality and uniquely trendy pieces that no where else in this area offers. My ring was not easy to get in and the owner was so patient, thorough, and did a wonderful job! We came in after reading a few reviews and were puzzled on the review about would not bring their child in. We have been here three times, before and after the review and never once was concerned on the decor, akio has changed some of the decor since then but regardless will continue to support them. My children are 9 and 11, Akio was very thorough and patient with them and pierced both of there lobes and explained downsizing and healing. Both healed up great and was affordable with a huge selection of jewelry!

I got my nose pierced at the Baltimore Tattoo Convention, so I cannot comment on the main location but if it is even a fraction of the professionalism and helpfulness of the booth, you are at an amazing location. This was the 3rd visit I have made to Sati. The first was January 2021. I got my nose pierced and wanted a hoop. Akio was quick and upfront about informing me that there would likey be a longer healing time. I got a stud instead. I went back a couple of months later and he changed it out for a hoop. Healing was fantastic, and Akio is very professional and has a clean environment. I went back yesterday with my sister and she got her nose pierced and I got the other side of my nose done. Once again, nothing but a very positive and great experience. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great piercer. He also has a huge selection of quality jewelry. I found Sati by reading all the great reviews online and wanting to support local businesses, especially a new business in town.Akio was wonderful! He was extremely professional and took the time to have a full consult with me prior to my appointment as I had some questions about previous piercings that I have. I decided to go a different route and get the piercings we consulted about instead of what I came for. He was completely accommodating to me about everything and walked me through the process before we started. All of his prices are listed so I knew what I would be paying prior to having the piercings done. The shop was extremely clean despite the fact that he had some recent renovations going on before I got there. He had his mask on before I ever even entered the shop and kept everything clean and sterile. He had a lot of jewelry to select from so you don’t end up with the basic piercing jewelry if you don’t want it.Akio made me feel so comfortable by chatting with me throughout the entire appointment. He was very gentle and was great about letting me know what feelings to expect before he did anything.I made another appointment with him to come in today as the swelling on my piercings were a little worse than we both anticipated. He made sure that he checked everything and changed out my toppers to accommodate the swelling. We went back over full aftercare since the piercings I got take longer to heal. He’s very quick to respond and get you an appointment. The shop is very tasteful and the wall art is great! I would recommend Sati to all my friends! Let me just start by saying 100/10 would recommend coming here. Steeve was super nice, professional, and knowledgeable about his practice. I’ve been to quite a few tattoo/piercing shops and this was the most clean/sterile one I’ve ever seen. He explained everything that was going on throughout the whole process; the sanitizing of the instruments and jewelry, placement of my piercing, what he was doing before during and after my piercing, and answered all my questions/asked me if I had any throughout the whole appointment. Seriously, this is where you want to go for any piercing.

We found this place on a whim while shopping. The price for piercing was average and the guy seemed pretty cool. I had my nose and tongue pierced. Much to my surprise I was going to charged per piece of jewelry. So like my tongue ring I paid for the bar and the top and bottom pieces. The jewelry is WAY over priced, and there are no prices listed. When I was there on Saturday, there was someone that didnt even work there sitting behind the desk but was helping the piercer out here and there with paperwork. Not impressed. Hes very sanitary. He pierced my tongue and nose bottom up, that was a first for me, and no clamp on the tongue. He was professional and knowledgeable, except he left out when we called on Sunday to see if we could Pierce our daughters ears... So we get all the way there, and he says you need birth certificates....... Um crucial information. We live an hour away. So our girls were very disappointed to have gone all that way on a Sunday evening for nothing.

My piercer, Akio, was very friendly and professional. My boyfriend recently passed unexpected and I wanted to get a piercing on our anniversary. It was a Sunday and I hasnt expected that noone would be open. Sati was able to squeeze me in and did not rush me through the process. They made sure I was happy with the jewelry and exactly where it was placed before piercing. I was very happy with my experience. I got my conch pierced which I heard could be a painful location..... Akio was so quick it actually hurt less than my second lobe piercings. Highly recommend Sati Piercing for anyone looking for a sterile environment and high quality jewelry.

I attended the Minneapolis tattoo arts convention and my girlfriend got a navel piercing. She picked out jewelry from industrial strength and it is immaculate! Akio freehanded the piercing with ease and barely put tension on the tissue, great bed side manner. His counter couldn’t remember pricing after properly being trained and seemed to have her personal life get in the way of her work. Also was not an apprentice and had people lie in reviews. The greeting was very faint & barely heard when entering, I did enjoy the atmosphere. I didnt go for a piercing I just went as a guest with a friend. the actual piercing person was a little standoffish but then started to open up more towards the end of the session.

Had my septum pierced back in May when I lived in Roanoke. Fast, clean, not very painful as far as piercings go, and perfect position of the ring. Gave an overview of the healing process after piercing and offered canned saline to buy in store. My septum healed wonderfully. I wish SATI would move to Radford- we need a good piercer here!

I came to Akio requesting help. I had positive antibody testing for metal allergies and require spinal surgery for a lumbar fusion soon. Akio took the time to assist by finding medical implant grade ear rings, stretching my ear piercings, and after worn for one to two weeks he took additional time taking photographs for my doctors who requested them. And finally Akio wrote a detailed letter outlining the specific metals used with their components and his professional opinion as to his observations. His detailed letter provided much needed information and was helpful for my allergist halting surgery which would have caused more harm than good. He was very instrumental in assisting my physicians to confirm what they suspected. I would recommend him to anyone for Piercings and stretching. He was professional and very clean taking every precaution not to cause unnecessary pain or to prevent any infection. His care and professionalism was unprecedented and he went out of his way writing a very professional letter to my physicians which was well accepted by them guiding and helping them.

Really good quality jewelry and Akio is really good quality piercer. I wont go anywhere else. Honestly his shop is the cleanest and most professional shop I have ever been to. He also has very reasonable piercing fees.

I have written maybe three reviews ever. Each was for a best or worst experience of my life. This is a result of the latter.I was looking for a new shop because the one I had been going to closed. I originally wanted to go to Asylum but this was an impulsive urge and they had a really long wait time. I saw the great reviews online for Sati Piercing and, because this shop was exclusively for piercing, figured it would be at least ok. I scheduled an appointment online and was on my way. The ‘bad’ started before I even walked in the door. Three minutes before my appointment time, I got a notification that it had been rescheduled 15 minutes later. I was almost there so thought I would just wait in the lobby. As I was walking up to the shop, there was a guy sitting outside smoking who said, “go in and she’ll get the paperwork started“.Side note: I was told the stud I got from Sati was high quality. That alone justifies the one star I am giving. It was threadless. When I got it removed, the other piercer suspected it was titanium. That is the extent of my positive feedback.It has potential to be a really nice-appearing shop but as of 6/18, it was just messy and chaotic. There was trash on the counter, boxes everywhere, and the girl that was going to “get the paperwork started” looked like she was in pajamas. She wasn’t very welcoming which isn’t required, I guess. Looking back, I should’ve turned around then. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I thought maybe it was all because the shop was fairly new. Again, the reviews online were good.Turns out, the guy that pushed my appointment for what I can only assume was a smoke break, is the owner and piercer, Sati. First impressions? That surprised me me quite a bit for reasons I won’t get into. Despite having 15 extra minutes to prepare for what looked like the only customer (me), it still took another 20 minutes to get his stuff together.I told him I wanted two piercings, conch and tragus. He marked the place for the conch but pierced in a significantly different spot. He pierced the very edge of the antihelix and pushed thru straight back instead of straight through. I will say, the actual piercings weren’t painful at all. Running the jewelry through each was a completely different story. He was so aggressive with it trying to get the backs on that I was physically clenched everywhere. I am not a stranger to piercings. I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what it’s supposed to feel like and how painful it supposed to be. Multiply that times 100 and we might be close what I experienced that day.Because I’m not the expert and continued to try to give benefit of the doubt, I had another piercer evaluate the “conch”. She didn’t trash-talk. She didn’t even say that the piercing was incorrect. She politely told me she would have done it differently based on what I described. I second-guessed my “idea” of how much pain to expect so was a little hesitant to re-pierce. Maybe I was wrong in thinking it shouldn’t have been as painful as it was…?I did have them remove the existing piercing. It was still really sore, after almost a month, because the bar was apparently too short for the angle of the hole. I went with my gut and and got it fixed with double conch piercings. The experience with my new piercer was great. I was impressed by her patience with my post-piercing drama, and by how gentle she was taking the existing piercing out. The piercings themselves hurt a little because the area was already sensitive. The difference was when she ran the jewelry through. I was expecting pain that never came. What did come was my validation on how horrible the other experience was.Impulsivity often gets one into trouble with tattoos and piercings. I want what I want when I want it. I kind of brought the situation on myself. Maybe the trauma from Sati was a one-off, but I don’t think so. I won’t take that chance to find out. I will be going to Asylum from here forward. That many actual good reviews for Sati? No chance!

I saw all the nearly perfect reviews for Sati’s and gave it a try. I really wanted to like to because I try to support small local businesses. I was not impressed at all. The shop was disorganized, the owner was unprofessional from the start. I called (during open hours) and he didn’t even say “Sati’s”. He pretty much told me he was at home getting food and that he’d be back soon. It was just...odd, to say the least. So I chalked it up to being a new business and ignored it. Well when I got there 20 minutes later, the doors were locked. Parking was nonexistent. It was frustrating. After waiting awhile for him to get there, I gave him a few minutes then headed in. I did paperwork then picked out jewelry. He didn’t explain prices or anything. I wish he had because I wouldn’t have gotten my lip pierced there if I knew how much it’d cost. Anyway, I waited for him to get everything ready while I noticed the uncomfortable wall decor. (One of the reviews mentioned brining a daughter there to get ears pierced...I would NEVER bring my kids there due to the atmosphere there being so adult and not professional)The piercing process itself was quick and easy and as painless as could be so that was decent.Paid over $70 (without him explaining the charges whatsoever) and that was the end of that. Will not recommend and will not go back.

I had a great experience here and would definitely go back! The place was clean, open and airy, and they had a huge range of high quality jewelry. Everything was sanitized multiple times and it was overall a very professional and accommodating experience. Highly recommend!

I brought my girlfriend to get her ears re-pierced after a shoddy piercing done in the past done with a gun instead of a needle, the location was clean, the staff was professional and very informative, overall a good experience. Just a note though, you will probably have to park across the street near the convenience store due to there being no curbside parking in the area.

This is a serious shop! This is not a piercing pagoda. This shop is super professional and well worth the money. It is a clean, well maintained shop. The location is a little seedy but it still gets five stars. I will never go to a tattoo shop again for my piercing needs and i highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a professional, with certificates and years of experience.

Overall amazing experience! Great bedside manner with fantastic results & an awesome selection of jewelry. I couldnt be happier or more satisfied with my new ear piercings.

Pierced my helix with a awesome solid rose gold piece from Bvla last week, largest selection of Bvla I have seen in western va hands down. Sati has multiple autoclaves for when it is busy and can get you in and out pretty quickly. They are fully disposable and have years of freehand experience which is a huge plus!

Got my philtrum pierced at the Atlanta tattoo convention from sati, second time around getting this piercing as the first one a different piercer did not put a long enough bar for swelling. I picked out a piece from bvla, amazing quality!

I got my septum piercing there, and the guy was really nice, he opened up just for me because I didnt have an available opening until the next week. He was super comforting, funny, and was really quick to pierce to it was pretty painless.

Can not recommend this place more. Dont let the neighborhood fool you; he does high quality work, is friendly, and is also accommodating. Not to mention, he has by far the largest selection of fine jewelery in the area. Oh, and the price is very reasonable, especially if you get pierced during a sale.

Ok well let me start out with I’m 29 never had tattoos or any other piercings other than my ears when I was a child so first of he was on time then cleaned up the area really good for 10 mins before taking me back he explained the procedure gave me advice on best jewelry for a beginner vch piercing he even allowed me to play my own music so I felt comfortable he told me step by step what he was doing as he was doing it process took maybe 15 mins but long story short he made it a informative process very professional and I’m above amazed at how it came out I love love it and would recommend him to anyone!!!!
