I went in honestly to look around but eventually convinced myself to get pierced. It was close to closing but my amazing piercer Ash still took me anyway. She was absolutely amazing, super sweet; talked me through everything/explained everything thoroughly. I highly recommend coming here!

Ash was my piercer and she was AMAZING. She talked me through the entire process and answered any questions I had happily. Definitely will be returning for all future piercings! 10/10 Recommend

Ariel and the young lady working the floor were both so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. My daughter and I wanted to get our tragus pierced but Ariel recommended that we didnt due to the size of our tragus. She then suggested a forward helix, we agreed and we LOVE them!!! She was so patient and gentle, would definitely go back to her! My daughter got a total of 3 piercings and Ariel did great with all of them! Environment and process was very sanitary, and after care instructions were clear.

I called a few places about getting a piercing done. This place was very kind right away and also got me in right away after being turned down a few places. Ariel was my piercer and was amazing! Went wayyyyy out of her way to get the right sized barbel, never made me feel rushed or like it was a big deal. I will be back to buy jewelry and any other piercing I want done. There was another lady in there helping me as well, making sure I had all the healing time and all that.

Ash was super helpful and even tried a less expensive option before we decided we had to pierce. Full of knowledge and is happy to share what she knows. Will be back with my bf who wants his ears pierced.

Greated us at the door, told them what we wanted to get done. Had best prices around town. The piercer was super fast and gentle. Wasnt in there for more than 20 minutes and we were completely satisfied 10/10 recommended. We will be going back.

I don’t normally leave reviews but these guys deserve all the praise they can get. All the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in. They made us feel like family. My wife and I decided to get some walk in tattoos for my birthday. Both Suze and Alex were amazing! They gave us exactly what we wanted and Alex went above and beyond in creating the piece I wanted (samurai frog). It was clean and very hygienic. Also the least painful tattoo I’ve ever received. If you’ve been considering see these guys please do! We will be returning for all our tattoos in the future!

Ariel helped me with my daith piercing recently and did a wonderful job! She was very professional and walked me through the process which helped put me at ease. It looks super cute and has been healing incredibly well. I also asked for an opinion on getting my septum done and she was honest enough to tell me it wouldve been a lower piercing than what I personally like the look of. I appreciate that so much and shows that they care about desired results and not just taking money. Cant wait to tell her thank you again in person when its time to change out jewelry. Shop was also very clean and sterile equipment was used.

Excellent service, I had Serenity as my piercer and she was fantastic, very friendly and professional. Made sure I knew everything I needed to for aftercare and healing time as a first-time piercee and the whole process was quick, clean and easy. Would definitely go again for more piercings!

Serenity was my piercer, she walked me right through it. It was my first time getting a piercing and it wasn’t bad at all. She also instructed me on what to do for my after care and was very helpful. They are most definitely worth the money.

10/10 would recommend Ariel at Express Yourself Tattoos & Piercings! We came in to look at belly piercing rings for my mother in law and Ariel was so helpful. I have been wanting a second nose piercing but was kind of skeptical (not going to lie) about a tattoo and or piercing place being in a mall and having it done. But, I said what the heck and did it anyway and I’m glad I did! Ariel walked me through step by step of the process, healing, what gauge we were going to be using, how to change the jewelry when it comes time, cleansing, etc. I was talking to Ariel about my first nose piercing that I had done at another tattoo and piercing shop in Oxford,MI and gave her my experience with it. I asked her some series of questions that I had with my first nose piercing and she was in shock. She taught me that the piercer had used a 21 gauge (which is smaller than an ear piercing) and that is why I was having issues. She also helped me out by fixing it for me a tapering the hole to have it at a 18 gauge like my new piercing. I can’t thank Ariel enough for everything!! I would recommend her to anyone!!

Katie was my piercer today and did a lovely job! It was quick and not at all painful. She did well calming me down since I was quite nervous. Overall she was just amazing and I’d come to her again if I wanted anything else pierced.

I have actually been here multiple times and have gotten tattoos by Makenzie. My first session with her was beyond amazing to the point where shes has done 12 tattoos for me thus far. With each tattoo she has done for me shes paid attention to Every detail..color, placement design. Shes absolutely blown me away with her skills and I cannot wait until my next session!

I have been to express yourself multiple times for different piercings and it is always such a light yet professional setting. Everyone does their very best to make you as comfortable as possible before starting anytime. They are very thorough with their after care instructions. Huge shout out to brightun (I hope Im reading that right off my card my apologies if its wrong) but you did an awesome job with my snake bites on 3-8-24 you and your coworker that day were both wonderful and I will continue to be a repeat customer.

I got both of my nostrils pierced by Katie, who was an amazing genuine person. She made the experience awesome, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely comfortable. Also helped and took the time picking out suck beautiful jewelry that I would be happy with. I had one standard ear piercing years ago and had recently put a 14g stud in to begin gauging it. I came here to get my other ear pierced to 14g and got a horseshoe put in both ears.Ashley was so helpful and was a complete joy to work with.My partner was with me and she decided on the spot to get her nipples pierced. Ashley and Brighten were very professional(but fun!), knowledgeable, and skilled.I highly recommend this shop. If you have considered piercing and feel hesitant, this is the place to go.They also have a wide variety of very interesting products for sale.

I stretched my ear on my own after my appointment with a taper. This is a picture of after I tapered it successfully to the desired size. If I had taken the picture after my appointment my ear would be a swollen and bloody mess without the gauge in the bottom piercing.

Probably the last bad experience I’ll have here after giving it multiple shots lol like yall don’t like your customers or what?I came to buy staple jewelry for a surface piercing and the young lady working on 5/15/24 around 3 pm refused to sell it to me because she looked me up and down and assumed I didn’t have the piercing and apparently that means you can’t sell to customers?The argument was ridiculous because I have my bellybutton done as well and if I ask for that jewelry are you going to ask me to lift my shirt to see it’s there?Or maybe I’m buying for someone else.Regardless she belittled me and made me feel inferior for even asking if they sold the jewelry I was looking for.I went to Drunken Monkey Tattoo nearby and they were more than willing to accommodate.

Brighten is the absolute best! They gave me a daith and nose piercing. Very patient with my questions and I absolutely loved that when I asked for placement and what they thought, very open and honest to give their opinion. Also, it was not this long drawn out process and I was so appreciative of that! We did them back to back and boom, it was done!

I wandered into this business in March of 2021 as I was just passing through Saginaw. Brooke pierced my daughters nose as a present from me for her upcoming birthday. Very quick and professional job. I asked her if she would be willing to try putting my dermal back in the same spot where it had previously rejected. (Originally done by a different business.I honestly think it wasnt done right.) PHENOMENAL JOB! I have not had one problem with it and almost a year later its still fine. I get lots of compliments on it. Thanks so much Brooke. If you are thinking about getting something done. I absolutely adore the people here, they are funny and charming. Brighten was amazing and sweet. He made sure that my friends and myself were ok when we got our piercings done, my friends got lip piercings and I got a daith. I cant wait to go back.

Took my 12 year old Son to have his helix pierced Brighten was so kind and professional with my Son. Brighten listened to both of our concerns and answered all of our questions. The store also sells a variety of cool stuff and the variety of jewelry was great compared to other shops Ive been in. I was pierced today by Brighten and it was great! I originally wanted a septum piercing but before anything the first thing he did was check if I had a sweet spot which I appreciated. He was super nice and knowledgeable, and the piercing was fast and easy! I’ll definitely be back for more :)

Best place to get your kids’ ears pierced! We wanted to take our daughter (a minor) to a proper parlor instead of a place with a piercing gun. Ariel pierced her ears and she was so sweet to our daughter, very patiently explained the process and aftercare, talked her through every step so she knew what was happening, and made us feel like her only customers even though others were in the shop to get piercings. We didn’t feel like the process was rushed, and that everything was done with care and cleanliness. I even got a piercing to show our daughter how the process would work and she treated me with the same consideration! Ariel is the best and I want another piercing just for the experience. Ten out of five stars!

My mother came in here a few days ago, hoping to find a replacement ring for her dermal cheek piercing that was far too big and curvy for her face. The owner was a lovely young woman who managed to salvage the piercing, and my mom nearly cried tears of joy to see her face the way she wanted it. She had bounced from shop to shop trying to find help, and we found this one by chance. We will definitely be returning, as well as recommending this shop to anyone looking to Express Themselves :)

My daughter had a tattoo done by an apprentice. The lady that was supposed to be supervising him, told me shes very sorry, but she didnt check on him as he was doing my daughters tattoo, since she was busy. Now my daughter has a complete MESS on her arm, and theyre not being very cooperative in fixing the issue! The girl told her she can drive to mackinaw city if she wants it fixed! Really??? Very poor business!

Went to this place to have my daughters ear looked at was helped at that time and told that she could have her belly button pierced on her 16th birthday which was the next day. I was told that I had to bring a copy of the birth certificate and that they would do it. I had to drive over 3 hours that day, which I told them, and stop at Walmart in order to get a copy of her birth certificate. Got to this place only to have the same person tell us she doesnt have the anatomy for it, even though he told her the day before he would do it. She was crushed. The person right in front of us said he told them the same thing. Go to electric chair and see Justin, I wont go anywhere else. Shame on you for getting a young girls hopes up just to crush them for whatever lame reason you had.

Brooke did a really nice job on my eyebrow piercing. Someone else was there (not the male worker) that helped me decide what direction to do and was also very helpful during the process. If anything, definitely ask for Brooke. I hear the other person there isn’t too good and can be rude. I also met him and had the same impression

I got snake bites done again and Brooke did a fantastic job. Really graceful actually. Hurt less then I remember lol mind you this is the third go around, she did absolutely phenomenal!

These people are GODS!I went yesterday to get my septum pierced and am so thankful for the staff that was there!! Not only was the store clean, accessible, and very entertaining to wait in, but the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly!!!I have vassovagal syncope, which if you don’t know what that is, essentially I get stressed by needles and pass out. The piercing was quick, easy, and minimally invasive. The piercer kept me talking and was so fun to chit chat with! I got up from the piercing shocked I was scared, but was so glad I stayed in the shop another 5 min bc I felt my knees get weak and sat down, and that’s when I syncoped 😬 their apprentice was so so so kind and knew exactly how to respond, she got me water and a sprite for my blood sugar and even didn’t charge me 😩 these people are gods. They know exactly how to respond in a crisis, they don’t overreact, but also won’t ignore your need. They do literally everything right! I will forever recommend this place!!

Brooke pierced my smiley and both of my ears! Both great experiences. My ears are now gauged to a 00g and she pierced them in such a good spot that I could stretch my ears way bigger! Glad I told her I wanted gauges. I also had my smiley changed here and she did a wonderful job. Plan on coming back for a septum, then gauging it!!!! Felt comfortable with the workers. Very clean, very friendly

I am extremely disappointed in the customer service at this place. I called the day prior to going in for cartilage piercing and asked their hours, if they do cartilage piercing and if we needed an appointment. I did so because I knew my daughters friends mom was taking time off work to meet us there since you had to have a parent present and didnt want any issues. When we arrived at 5:01, the lady told us that we couldnt get the piercing because they stop doing it 1 hour before closing. I cannot believe if you are going to fail to tell people that when they call, and we were literally 1 minute from your deadline you should be making an exception considering the circumstances. Apparently this place doesnt have any interest in making clients happy. EXTREMELY disappointed with this place and would not recommend it to anyone.

There’s a reason why they’re are quite a few one stars for this shop. I went here to get my nostril pierced. Overall the experience was fine and the piercer was very sweet. Sadly, I suffered due to her inexperience and her telling me incorrect and damaging/bad information. She pierced me straightaway with a hoop which isn’t good because it encourages damage to new piercings which messes with the healing process. Secondly, when I got an irritation bump almost immediately after getting this piercing(which isn’t necessarily their fault) I was told “it’s a keloid and to put tea tree oil on it”. If you have an experienced piercer they’ll tell you a keloid can not be removed with tea tree oil (which is a very harsh oil and should be used cautiously, but may or may not work for you) but furthermore can only be removed by a dermatologist. Although the workers in there are nice, the ones who do the piercings are not as experienced and knowledgeable as they should be and that may cost you. I had to finally get my piercing removed(I got this piercing last year and it still wouldn’t heal) yesterday by another piercer and I told them my experience and they told me that this shop is not a good one and when the piercer said this they said it with a strong implication that many customers from this shop had similar bad experiences. Sadly, I won’t be back for any piercings, but I may be back to buy jewellery if they have any that catches my eye. Please research your piercers.

I got my nose pierced and had a great experience. I’m a big wimp and got very dizzy, almost passed out. They gave me water and hung out with me until I felt better. They were sensitive to my embarrassment and super nice!

Got my daith piercings done by Tana. When i took it out to clean it after 8 weeks, couldn’t get one earring back in. I called, and they put it back in for me, no charge.Tana was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Had a nostril piercing done by Ariel. Very kind and was filled with much information- was very comfortable to get a piercing done by her!

I got my nostril, conch, and helix pierced here. Not only are they not sterile or professional but it doesn’t seem they have any clue what they are doing. My cartilage piercings were pierced with hoops which got infected pretty quickly and the nostril piercing is very uneven to my already existing one. Please go anywhere else but here.

Work area very cleanly and profesinal. Staff was very nice. But they pierced my ears way too low. Wearing anything heavier then a stud is risk for ripping my ears.

I went in there to get my ears pierced, Katie helped me and made sure I stayed calm through the whole process after I told her I had a fear of needles.

I seen their Friday the 13th advertisement on Facebook & called to ask a few questions. I was completely misled by the person on the phone. Something that I understood would only cost $30.00 ended up costing me $70.00! My friends wanted to get tattoos & you could only get the deal if you had the number 13 in the ink work. If you wanted less ink without the number 13 it was more money! I commented on their Facebook post to which they replied & then deleted the comments all together! Super shady! Needless to say my friends ended up going to Rock Solid tattoo & getting the outline & color for $50.00 out the door. My son wants his first tattoo & seeing how straight forward they were at Rock solid about their price I know where I am taking my son to get his first tattoo as a Christmas gift. Since they deleted the Facebook comments I came here to warn others & posted it up on my photography group page so my 22k followers are aware! They also said they have been in the Saginaw mall for 20 years. I use to work at the mall 20 years ago & I sure dont remember that Tattoo shop! 😂

The tatoo artist acts as if he knows everything about tattoos but he doesnt know sh**t about tattoos. Worst experience on my first tattoo. Went to get a moon tattoo which ended up like a lopsided tortilla , now I have to spend extra money to get it fixed.
