Such a great atmosphere and the people are just amazing! I Took my son to get his first piercing (septum) and he was super nervous. They were able to put his mind at ease and made it such a great experience for him. We will recommend them to everyone and will definitely be returning.

Neat place! Had my septum pierced. The guy was super nice. I was so nervous and he reassured me everything was good, even if I broke my nose couple times. Really quick and really easy, knows what he is doing. Awesome guy! Wish I caught his name so I don’t have to keep calling him guy.:D

6/6/24 @1:30pm - I had both tragus piercings done here about two months apart by Josh. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable about piercings. First, Josh and the front desk lady have beautiful, friendly vibes that take the edge off of any nervousness you may have. Second, they are extremely thorough and experienced. They recommended getting the piercings a few months apart to be cautious in terms of sleeping comfortably and safely, as well as to protect these beautiful piercings. I have no complaints, all compliments for Hourglass. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love coming here for my piercings. I got my septum done today and it was such a good experience. Josh did perfectly, I hardly even felt it. They both made sure I was comfortable and since Im disabled they both helped me to my car. 10/10. I always have a great experience. By far the best experience Ive ever had getting pierced. You cant beat their prices because they manufacture their own high quality jewelry. Owner integrity is unmatched. My friend dropped her drivers license in the hallway, it was found and returned ASAP! By the tattoo artist. Their attention to detail and cleanliness is by far the best Ive see. My piercings healed better and faster than any other Ive had. Cant wait to go back for my next one. When you go, take a friend. They run 2 for 1 specials!!!! SO WORTH IT!!

I have had a few of my piercings done here and it is fantastic. They are so welcoming. Every time I’m in, I am reminded why I keep coming back! I was beyond nervous to get my septum redone due to an experience at a different studio and I am so glad I came here to get it redone. Everything went so smoothly and now it is healing fantastic. If I could give the studio a 10 star rating I would!!

Originally when I went to this piercing studio, I thought it was very professional and nice but that was 2 1/2 years ago. Now they moved the shop in the building is very unwelcoming. It looks like a strip club and you don’t know what your walking into. Very intimidating for some people. That’s not what really bothered me though. They are very unprofessional when it comes to customer service. I’m sure they know what they’re doing with piercing, but I’d rather go to a place that cares about their customers as well. I’m sure it works for some customers but not for me. If you want a caring, welcoming, professional, and overall really good experience I’d take your services over to Holeybody on Center Rd. They’re a little pricey, but definitely worth it!

All my piercings I have done I come here..Josh is the best around and the prices are very reasonable..I will continue to come here for piercings before i go anywhere else..

Went in for a Medusa, ended up changing my mind (for the best reasons) because of the honesty at this shop. I have NEVER felt more comfortable as I did in there today. I did get some adorable jewelry for piercings I already have, and had awesome conversation. I appreciated the honesty and will happily drive 2 hours if I ever need anything else. Such a great experience! My best friend and I went together to get spontaneous nose piercings and it was the best choice of our lives! The employees were extremely friendly and their happy attitudes really helped calm any nerves we had going into it! The facility was very clean and neat and I felt very comfortable the whole time! Got two piercings from them. I appreciated the warm welcome and how comfortable they made me. I found out they also do tattoos here. So I’ll be back for sure. They accept walk ins and will have you out the door in no time. They will also provide you instructions on dos and don’t with your piercing care.

Amazing! I got my nipples pierced and the entire experience was amazing; straight away I felt welcomed and in the piercing room he went over how everything was going to go and was talking to me the whole time and it helped distract me and calm the nerves a ton. The piercing itself looks straight and im super happy with it! (plus really good prices!)

I just got done at hourglass and they were so sweet and kind! I messaged them using Google earlier in the day and they were quick to respond and answer my questions. My piercer educated me on my previous piercings placement and how that will affect my new piercings placement and what they could do for it. They also offered juice boxes and waters and talked quite a bit which made me feel so much more relaxed. The after care instructions were detailed and they gave me an extra ball and stud for my piercings!

Fantastic experience! The staff was so kind and I loved their energy, you can tell they love what they do. I got a nose piercing, I felt very comfortable and all my questions were answered. I had a great experience! The piercing artist was beyond patient and knew what he was doing. The atmosphere was extremely positive and clean right when walking in.

He was very rude and unprofessional today me and my aunt went in a she was eating some chips and he came out talking real rude and my aunt said what all that was for and he snatched the paper up talking bout he owns this and we can leave so we left will NEVER recommend his shop to ANYONE!

The owners are great people who are truly piercing professionals. I only trust them with my piercings and drive an hour and a half away just for Hourglass. Additionally, the prices are affordable.

I came in back in February and got my septum pierced and it was by far the best piercing experience I’ve ever had! (I’ve had a few lol) They made me feel so comfortable and it healed so much better than the one I had gotten done before. Went in for my cheeks, but he explained the complications with them being pierced before. He was very informative, and I ended up getting the vertical labret instead.

I had my septum pierced here back in September. The experience was excellent and completely positive. Staff/owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the hospitality is superb. Building is clean and comfortable without being overly sterile; the hygiene and sanitation procedures seem to be top notch! The price is so reasonable for the services rendered. I 100% recommend, and will be my first choice for any future piercings.

I’m gonna give one more star ⭐️ due to the sarcastic responses that are actually quite entertaining from the piercer, who I’m assuming is the owner, when it comes to CERTAIN criticism. Truly, it improves my understanding of the demeanor portrayed upon my experience. 🤷🏼‍♀️🥲😂 Would give 5 stars to the tattoo artists (at Hourglass tattoo in bay city). However… The piercer forced me out by saying “I have other people I’m trying to pierce.” after me already being in the piercing room, being not even 30 seconds of hesitant, before getting my tongue pierced, which in turn, left me feeling extremely uneasy, so I left. I wasn’t impatient (as you can see the owner responded with the same energy I would expect from that shop). Wouldn’t want anyone to go through that uninviting experience again. Best of luck. I personally LOVE Becky (front deck) and Josh (piercer/owner). Becky was beyond welcoming and made you feel so comfortable. Josh is honest which I love honesty. You can tell he does this profession because he loves it not just for money. They instantly answer any questions you have and don’t make you feel nervous in any way. 100% recommend and will be going back in the future.

My girlfriend got her septum and belly pierced here and they were very quick and good at what they did. They have a nice waiting room with complementary drinks on hand and good ambient music going. One of the staff there however got snippy with me when I asked about their Non-disclosure agreement which to me read more like a waiver. When I asked about it I was met with blunt anger You can sign it or you can leave and It seems he has never seen this kind of document before. I didnt want to ruin my gfs experience here so I got up and left without saying a word. I wish the employee would have just informed me that they didnt have it in their insurance to be liable for there own mistakes, which is what I had a problem with. It is even on their website (I believe) that people who argue with them will be asked to leave. It makes sense that this is a common occurrence if someone thinks about it for a moment. Everything else was highly satisfactory and I would recommend coming as their prices are great. Keep a close eye out for the location though as it is hidden behind a U-Haul outlet with minimal signs directing you to the actual location. After some time my gf has notes that the actual piercer did fantastic and it was painless and is healing nicely. All in all a good visit.Post script: I dont feel like I can say point proven loud enough. Hourglass Piercing Studio I do hope you learn to take criticism better in the future and refrain from treating your customers the way you deem them to treat you as Second class citizens. Nor do I feel the need to defend myself against these false accusations for I am not the one being reviewed here. Nevertheless for all of the consumers reading thus far I still hold true to the previous assessment these are fantastic prices that cannot be beat and decent quality too. I do recommend coming here still for their services as thats what the whole point is. Just do be aware of the kind of treatment you will receive as well as it will be met much the same way mine was and your words and actions may be twisted to fit an unflattering narrative.

I have to say, these are the most friendliest folks that Ive ever encountered. The level of professionalism was so on point for this business. Josh was so honest when it came to me asking to go a bit higher with my nostril piercing. His professional judgement and experience told me no in the nicest way, with a detailed explanation as to why that wouldnt work. All I could do is respect and trust his professional expertise and it was the best decision ever. I absolutely love my piercing!!!Josh went on to educate me more on why the piercing is better in the position its in. I loved the aesthetics of the shop, its cleanliness, attentiveness of the workers and just the hospitality that was displayed as I filled out my forms. I felt so welcomed... if you wanna get a piercing. go here! you wont regret it.

10/10 experience. My husband and I both got pierced (him - conch, me -septum), and it was so smooth and painless for both of us. We both felt very welcomed and will definitely be back!

Awesome choice for affordable and quality service in the area. Theyve been doing it for over 20 years so I felt like I could trust them going into into it and Ill just say, they didnt disappoint. My conch piercing was a low flat fee and included titanium jewelry, which was nice considering the other places I called wanted $50/$60 for the peircing alone and jewelry usually started at $10-$20 dollars after that. The owners work the shop and deliver on very professional and top quality service. I got some good advice for healing protocols and felt like I could trust that theyd be available if I ever needed anything or had followup questions. They even offered to switch my jewelry in a few months when it healed. Anyway, overall I was really happy. Got in and out very fast, had quick direct answers to my question, the price was amazing, and overall just a good vibe in the place.

I came here a few months ago and I’m thinking about coming again for another piercing. Service was phenomenal, super welcoming environment. Wouldn’t go anywhere else

Josh and Becky are absolutely amazing at communicating with me, answering any and all questions, being personable. Josh is especially wonderful with being as gentle and kind as possible when talking about piercings and helping you go through the process. I have had my nostril pierced 3 times before going to Josh years ago, and he was THE ONLY person to ask me to make different faces/scrunches to see where the piercing should sit to be comfortable and look good.Just recently, Josh did both my bridge and industrial piercing and I had a wonderful experience with both. In addition to piercing, they also will fulfill custom jewelry orders. I LOVE my new custom Conch studs, and will be getting other customs from them in the future!I have not and will not go anywhere else other than Hourglass!!

I had my first piercing with Hourglass on 2/26/22 & from the moment I walked in, I was pleasantly greeted & felt very comfortable. Staff is extremely friendly, helpful & very knowledgeable. Everything from the explanation of care, type of jewelry used & the piercing process was above my expectations. I had a double nostril piercing & my piercer was quick & he didn’t give me time for it to be painful! He did a wonderful job & I love the placement & can’t wait until I come back for my hoops! I was reassured that if I need surgery or a MRI, they will place a clear plug even though their jewelry is titanium & I really appreciate that they offered this.Hourglass is family owned & their prices are the best in the Tri-City area as well as their work, customer service, cleanliness & professionalism. I’ve been pierced at another place in the area & even though my piercing was great, I felt the I was bothering them & they could’ve cared less about me, but not at Hourglass, I was met with a completely different experience. They definitely go above and beyond! I’m already planning my next piercing & can’t wait to return. It felt as though I have been going there for years. I have been going to Josh and Becky for going on 3 years now, they’ve done almost all of my piercings. Whether it’s for a new piercing or just a simple jewelry swap, they are always sooo helpful, informative, and kind. Very efficient but I never feel rushed. I feel safe and taken care of after every visit. They also don’t mind answering quick questions over Messenger, since I live a half hour away and don’t always want to drive to come in. One time I had issues with jewelry and they personally MAILED a new piece to me so I didn’t have to make the trip to the shop. They also have beautiful high quality jewelry to pick from, and very fair prices. I can’t recommend Hourglass enough and will continue going to them!

We were one and done here! They do walk ins btw if you’re wondering! Me and my fiancé got our ears done and the atmosphere here was AMAZINGGG!! They offer complementary drinks as well. Definitely plan on going back if I ever want another piercing! The guy made great convo the one lady was super nice.(sorry I didn’t catch their names)They were both very helpful and gave us a thorough paper for after care and told us to call for any other questions we may have. 1000/10 definitely recommend.

Subpar experience. I could tell the guy didnt even want to do my piercing by his demeanor. Didnt meet me at the jewelry counter, sat in the back of the room on his phone while I stood there and waited. Didnt discuss jewelry at all or size(I specifically wanted 16g and he acted like this was asking for a unicorn) and was just going to put whatever HE wanted in my ears. Waist of time. Left with nothing even though I came prepared to spend around $400.

They were absolute angels!!! So friendly and sweet, great conversationalists, and above and beyond in terms of covid safety. Only one client is allowed in at a time by appointment, they clean everything constantly, and they wear medical grade gas masks! They’re so high tech I don’t even know what to call them. They have a touch free thermometer and do a health assessment before you enter the shop. They’re just phenomenal!

Sister got a tattoo here. Its was small and a little color. That was about 3 months ago she still loves it and the price she was nice as well. Both of the tattoo artist there were nice.

A little over a month ago I went in for a finger tattoo of the Mackinaw bridge in memory of a loved one who had passed away the week before. Instead of coming out as a meaningful piece that I’d cherish forever, it came out bloated on one end and so faint on the other that the entire tattoo is barely recognizable as a bridge. When I went in I was informed that it was due to ‘weathering’ but after a second opinion it is actually due to lack of ink in one area and excessive ink in another. The lack of skill and ownership to the issue was apauling and I will not be going back. I recommend Voodoo Tattoo for any touch ups needed after getting a tattoo from Hourglass.

Best shop in Bay city!!! Very friendly, and professional plus fantastic artists!!! The owner, Stevo, is amazing...hes super kind and worked closely with me to make sure my ink was exactly what I wanted. Bay City is flooded with unexperienced hacks in my opinion, the Hour Glass is the only place Ill go back too.

After struggling with my nostril peircing for 2 months I finally had it checked out by another peircing shop. Once the jewelry was removed I was informed that my jewlery was low quality and more than likely contained nickle. I would not recommend going here on a student discount or really at all considering my nose was not even cleaned before the peircing was done.. quite a few corners were cut to make up for the money they lost on the student discount.

Got my rook piercing about a month ago and the all around experience was amazing. Nice awesome staff and they got my friend and I in right away without an appointment.

This is by far the greatest shop around. The guys are extremely pleasant with all their customers and funny as hell. The work they put it is way above par. Not to mention the stock custom tattoos these guys do.
