Cannot say enough good things about this studio! Ruth pierced the other side of my nose, and took careful time and attention to make sure her placement was even with my original piercing on the other side. She also gave me all kinds of info on how to best take care of my new piercing, and was just an all around cool person! The person who helped behind the counter was so nice too (I wish I had gotten their name!) - they helped me pick out jewelry and were so nice and friendly! Great shop, great vibes, 10/10 will be back to get poked again :)

Went here today to get my septum pierced (walk in) and Mark was amazing very gentle and explained each step to me. Both front desk and piercer were amazing! I highly recommended going here!

They were able to fit us in on a Saturday afternoon and provided helpful professional opinion while ensuring i loved my new piercings/jewelry! Very very clean with an extremely beautiful jewelry selection. Never make the mistake of going to a tattoo shop again lol. Might be a bit pricey here but it’s very clean and great jewelry.

Meh. I find the place very unwelcoming. There is typically a judgmental and condescending tone to the conversations and never a real effort to sell or help. Its as if they are bothered that there is a potential customer, or yaybe its because they think I am a normie (eye roll).

Came in with my daughter to get nose piercings. Was very nervous but Ruth and Mark talked us through the whole experience. Ruth did the piercing and was clean, professional and mindful of our needs. She put us at ease! A memorable Mother/daughter trip!

Would leave a zero if I could. They deffinitely take themselves too seriously. Super overpriced for the jewlery they offer. Dude at front counter is super rude and stuck up and unhelpful.

Been coming here for 11 years. See Mark. He’s amazing. These guys have been nothing but incredible & professional. They will tell you straight up when something won’t work, they understand anatomy and they respect the culture. I’ve had 6 piercings here, all of which healed perfectly and quickly. I always get compliments on the perfection of the work.

They don’t answer the phone at this particular location. I’ve called everyday for a week at various times but I guess it works for them since they are in a spot with a lot of traffic they don’t need to take care of potential customers with actual customer service. Relying solely on your automated system or booking service is pretty corny when there’s no way everyone there is busy at any given time. Is there not even a manager? Why do people have to leave a message Ian’s what’s the point of having a phone?

Group of our friends came to SD for vacation and two of us decided to get piercings. WONDERFUL experience. So clean, so friendly and great prices. Will definitely be back when we visit again :)

Came in on a whim on Vacation and was able to make an appointment for my last day in town. I got my earlobes pierced by Ruth, and she was great! Friendly and helpful. She walked me through the process from start to finish and made the experience nearly painless! The piercings look great and Im very happy with them!

Kind of expensive but excellent quality in body jewelry! I’ve had my belly button ring for 7 years, lost the head and they were able to replace it for me! It’s still in perfect condition even after all this time.

I had a great experience at Apogee. It was something Ive wanted to do but had put off, but from walking in to leaving, everyone was so kind, helpful and friendly. Mark was fantastic - he walked through every step and made me feel completely at ease. Im looking forward to scheduling another piercing in the future, and will certainly come back here.

Beautiful jewelry. Very clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Mark did a great job with my piercing. He provided trauma informed care, telling me exactly what to expect and when and continually checked in to make sure I was comfortable.Oh and the plants covering the shop are a phenomenal sight.

Don’t waste your time, energy, or money here. I went on a recommendation for a friend who went 8 years ago (much has changed). I bought a nose ring and the person behind the checkout counter said don’t worry, if it doesn’t fit, you can return it. I thought it was a little weird since this is a piercing place and everything has to be sterile but whatever I believed her. I went home and tried it out, it was too thick and didn’t fit so I went back to try and return it. They informed me that there was a zero return policy and that I was on my own. I talked to the same person that told me about being able to return it and they said “I must have been on drugs haha sorry” as if that is an acceptable excuse as to why I was mislead at the time of purchasing. I can respect a no return policy but it sucks that I was mislead and given the excuse of “I must have been on drugs.” Super unprofessional and I will not only not recommend this place to anyone but will actively steer people away. Not a good experience at. all.

Didnt even go there, just called with some questions about a potential service and never have I been talked down to in such a manner. I was curious about nose piercing jewelry as Ive had a previous nose piercing fall out and the person who answered the phone was so rude. They spoke to me like I was a child mansplaining the reasoning behind the use of their jewelry while not even answering my question. Such a bad phone call that I decided not to go to them.

One of the cutest piecing shops I have ever been to! If you are a plant lover like me, you won’t be able to stop looking at all the different plants they have. The shop is super clean and everyone was so friendly and profesional. If I’m ever in San Diego again, I will definitely be returning for a new piercing.

We took our five month old to get her ears pierced. Ruth did a fantastic job. Highly recommended, plus they use the earrings without a clasp in the back. Its so much better than traditional earrings.

I took my 6 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced and our experience was wonderful. From the moment we walked in the door, she was treated with kindness, respect, and compassion. My daughter was excited but also nervous and the staff did their best to make her feel comfortable with the process. Ruth did her piercing and could not have been more kind, patient, and enthusiastic. Ruth helped explain the entire process to my daughter ( and myself) and answered our questions. She gave my daughter tips on how to stay calm and checked in on her often. Plus, the actual piercing time was quick and as soon as the piercing was done, my daughter was so happy and LOVED the earrings she had chosen. Thank you Ruth to making her experience so wonderful and keeping her calm. Thanks also to the other staff members who congratulated my daughter afterwards and told her how awesome she did. The collective enthusiasm and support was wonderful. Definitely recommend Apogee to those looking for a piercing!

I found this place while searching for somewhere to get my lip piercing done back in July, and am very happy I did! Returned just today to get an industrial done. Thus far Ive only been pierced by Mark, who is awesome, and talks me through what he is doing while providing some breathing exercises. It goes by so quickly, easily, and positively!

The best piercing spot in SD! This place is spotless. Their jewlery is high quality. Marc did my trig-us, he is a true professional. Ive had my piercing for about two weeks now and its healing perfectly. I would definitely come back!

I got my industrial pierced here a year or so ago and it was an incredible experience, so much so that I told myself Id only be going here for piercings any time I wanted one. However, when I wanted a spur of the moment piercing later in the night with a friend we went somewhere else, and that was a mistake. When I started having complications with my nostril piercings, I called Apogee right away because I knew I could actually trust them to really take care of me, and they did. We ended up having to swap out jewelry on two fresh piercings (obviously do NOT try at home), which I would NOT have trusted the other shop I went to to do. They were kind, understanding, and patient with me and helped me get set with proper jewelry that could actually allow my nose to heal properly. Every person Ive interacted with here has been incredibly knowledgeable and friendly as well.This entire experience has only further cemented in my mind that Apogee is the only place in San Diego that I want to go to get pierced. I cannot recommend them enough.

Love Apogee; the guys are so friendly. The new shop is great and the shop is also super clean and they are always sanitizing everything. The guys are great at walking thru the jewelry choices with prices. I live out of state now and every time I go back to OB I have them change out my jewelry; I dont trust anyone else. Everyone that works here is awesome and they take the time to see what would look right for you. I get my piercings from Mark and he has been top notch. Granted whomever is working the front desk at the time also helps with any questions, placement, jewelry etc.

I went here for a Medusa piercing and a couple random changeouts on several existing piercings…I made an appointment as recommended and was so glad I did as this shop seems to get a lot of walkin traffic! Upon arrival, my first impression was a clean, organized piercing shop who clearly valued quality and cleanliness. All the jewelry available was gold or titanium (minus things like stone plugs which they have a HUGE variety of btw!) the desk and piercers were all friendly and informative, and very honest with me which I appreciate, especially when it comes to facial piercings! My piercer was super helpful when it came to choosing jewelry, and once chosen it only took him about 5 minutes to set up before calling me back. He talked me through the entire process andexplained what he was doing as he went along, and not only double but triple checking the placement. The whole process was maybe 30 minutes including my change outs. during just the casual conversation I found out he’s been doing this nearly 30 years!! It was reassuring to know that even doing it this long he is still very thorough and careful with his craft! The titanium jewelry has been a blessing! I chose this shop upon finding out they didn’t offer anything less quality related than implant grade titanium (no stainless steel) and this is the first piercing I have had that’s not had any infection or rejection issues. The price was average for what you’d expect to pay for good quality in this area but I would be willing to pay far more for the service and quality I received from apogee.

My friend recommended I go here for my forward helix piercing after she had a piercing done here a few years ago. They did a fantastic job on it and answered all my questions about what they were doing throughout the whole process. They have a great selection of high quality jewelery for the piercing, the cost of the jewelry isnt cheap but youre paying for quality and the healthiness of the piercing so its more than worth it. Will definitely go again for my next one.

I moved to SD last year and had no idea where to go for my future piercings. I read all the great reviews online from this place and figured I’d call to check it out. The guy who answered the phone, Evan, was super nice and helpful in answering my questions. He even remembered me when I went in later that day. I got a conch piercing and could not be happier! The placement is perfect and barely painful. The shop is super clean and cozy and I had a great experience. I’d definitely recommend going here and I’ll be back.

Got my belly button pierced here and literally pierced it so wrong, had to get it removed like 4 days later, worst pain of my life and the dude said i had a great belly button for it too. liar. dont go here be warned

Spent $150+ on nipple piercings with Evan last november just for them to 1. give me too small of a bar and 2. pierced my nipples incorrectly as i just found out from another, amazing shop i went to. when i changed out the jewelry it was already too late and they were super infected, bloody and scabbing.

These guys are the best. Ive gotten two piercings there and my 16 year old son got his first piercing there, too. They are super kind and easy going. They really take care of you there. Great jewelry, too!

This is my favorite. The employees are amazing. I’ve didn’t time and services with peck and Luis over time. It’s where I take my kid and refer my friends. Very professional and clean. Supportive of those of us with nerves and shared education with clients very thoroughly.

These are the nicest folks! I went in looking for a piece that would be work appropriate and they took lots of time to show me options, measure my piercing for a new piece and offered to help me with putting in the new one. I am so pleased with their friendliness, I am contemplating a new piercing just so I can go back and hang with them! They do have jewelry for sale and very knowledgeable staff. Also parking out front and totally walkable to the beach!

I have had many piercings over the years. Recently, I was pierced by another establishment and after about a week, I was experiencing heightened pain and discomfort. I walked into Apogee and was greeted with a friendly smile and a bounty of professionalism. I consulted with the staff and received a lot of information and explanation that was unfortunately not presented to me by the original piercer. Apogee provide the proper instructions and supplies for after care. I am on my way to being fully healed and I could not be more pleased with my decision to stop in and ask for help. If I ever get any future piercings, it will only be here! I highly recommend this shop to anyone and thanks again for your help!

My husband purchased some earings and they could not install as they did not have the proper tool. He was sent to another referred to another shop and they could not put them in either.After his wild goose chase he got fed up and purchased another pair from another shop and they delivered the earrings.First of all if they’re going to sell the earrings and say they can deliver them then that’s what they should do and they should communicate if they’re going to try to deliver them at a later date. No refund was offered due to their mistake.

I got some lip piercings done here and the atmosphere was great! felt very welcome and comfortable and the piercings themselves are perfect!

I just had my 4 month old daughters ears pierced here by Puck. He was super nice and very knowledgeable. I felt that he really took his time and made 100% sure that things were done right. He even posed for pictures at the end for her baby book! :-)

So I wanted to get a new piercing today. Unfortunately I am the only piercer at the shop right now. So I had to go outside my shop family to get the piercing that I wanted. As you know when ever you look for service in an industry that you work in, you are even more critical of where you go. So I looked at almost every shop around town and came across Apogee in OB. From the very first phone call, Mija answered the phone, she was super cool and took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel very comfortable before I even got there. Now working for another shop and going to get work done somewhere else can be sketchy at time to say the least. There are time when some people in this business are less than welcoming when they find out your from another shop. I walked in the door and Mija remembered me from our call. I thought that was way cool, BTW what a sexy name. Instantly she knew I was from another shop and made me feel even more welcome like I was part of their family. The shop looked so cool inside. They had all kinds of different piercing art and rituals hanging up from all over the world. Incredibly clean shop as well. We have all seen the places that make you a little nervous, but these guy have their act together and the place is pristine. I met Luis, who was to be my piercer. Right away he was all smiles and nice to meet ya. He took me back for the piercing. There were about three people waiting to get pierced but Luis was every bit as meticulous as I would have been. He did not rush just to get to the next customer. I was impressed with everything from how clean and sterile his setup was to his technique. It was really cool to watch another piercer work. He really went the extra mile to make sure everything about my piercing was perfect before he did it. With 13 years experience Im sure I could learn a few things from Luis. Overall great guy and piercer. Super calm and professional the whole time. The piercing came out absolutely PERFECT. At the risk of loosing business at my own shop I have to give these guys my highest recommendation and my up most respect. Evan was awesome!! I have wanted to get a small diamond nose piercing for a long time but have been too nervous...Evans calm demeanor and expertise made the experience incredible!! Would definantly recommend this shop...very clean/sterile with knowledgable/professional employees...walked out a very satisfied customer...they even provide the salts necessary to clean my piercing and 3 days later now it looks and feels healthy and great!!

Let me start of by saying that I have done hundreds of piercings for both myself and friends and others... anything from ears to genital piercings to surface piercing.... my girlfriend and I walked in there today and were greeted by a guy who I believe was named Louis. Maybe something else ... not 100% sure... but regardless. ...I asked for a piercing needle and was told that they dont sell them there, I said thats fine... we will just take a look at the jewelry. He proceeded to try to get my Gfs attention and ask her name.. she was busy looking at the jewelry. .. he asked her what her name was several times, I responded .. her name is.. .. he ignored me.. he asked again and finally she turned around and acknowledged his question. He proceeded to say... while some like our friend over here have done hundreds, I myself have done thousands of piercings. We dont recommend in home piercings, if you buy the jewelry Ill do the piercings for free.. she told him I want my boyfriend to do it. He proceeded to put me down and basically call us stupid for wanting to pierce at home. He then told us that the jewelry was 60$. I have never paid that much for jewelry in my life.Basically I cant even put it all in words to completely describe the situation in its entire severity. You know the saying its not what you say but how you say it? Well he said the wrong things in the wrong way.... he was rude, unprofessional, condescending, sanctimonious, and all around unpleasant.I will make sure that no one I know ever goes near here.

Ive only been here two times, once to get my nose pierced and the 2nd time to get it retightened. I got my nose pierced on both sides bt Luis, hes so cool. He seems very wise and just worldly.. getting my nose pierced took a long time but during that I realized piercing is truly an art form. He was so meticulous on trying to plan for the piercings to look as perfect as they could specifically for my face. It was very endearing and admirable. I will never go anywhere else to get pierced, Im sure the other piercers are just as skillfull.Also, it was a walk-in and I waited only about 5 minutes, and when I went in the 2nd time to get my loose piercing tightened Luis did it for free (:

Was charged $198 for 3 pieces of body jewelry.... no actual piercing. They were cubic zirconia and for an ear lobe. I returned them. Clearly, a place to get ripped off. Cool.
