Big Trouble Tattoo

I loved my experience at Big Trouble Tattoo! Its in a great area with a lot of restaurants and shops. Walking up the stairs you see a lot of great artwork from different artists and that continues once you get into the actual shop. There is gorgeous artwork everywhere you turn. The store is super clean and laid out nicely. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I was there to get my second tattoo from Aidan. He is such a great artist and made me feel super comfortable while getting this tattoo. Its the biggest one Ive ever gotten and he was very patient and kept checking in on me throughout. The other artists came up and chatted with me too and the friendliness calmed my nerves as well. I will definitely visit again for my next tattoo

Came here to get my first tattoo and it was worth it. I went with Gust and he did a fantastic job. He responded quickly to my email and we scheduled a consultation right away. He was very accommodating with the time and date. Gusts work is very clean and detailed, will be back for sure.

I met Aidan Monahan at a local art show and loved his style! I found out he was a tattoo artist and we chatted about getting something done. I reached out to him and was able to schedule something a few months out, and my tattoo was executed beautifully! I have many other tattoos, and I can say Aidan has a gentle hand and is quick as well. My tattoo is now 7 months old and has healed amazingly and I have gotten tons of compliments. I actually think the colors look better healed than when it was fresh, which is saying a lot because it was amazing fresh! Aidan is a true artist who clearly knows how the inks will heal and picks his colors and makes designs with care! He also is very welcoming, kind, and great to chat with. The shop itself was easy to find, a great location in North Park right on 30th, and it was bright, open, clean, and welcoming. Aidans station is colorful, fun, and comfortable. He was very attentive and made sure I was comfortable the whole time while sitting to get tattooed and took breaks as needed. He always has amazing original flash, but he was very open to my idea, and gave me the Rainbow Brite tattoo of my dreams! Aidan is seriously one of the best. Ive gotten 3 tattoos from him and theyve all come out amazing. Hes a super nice dude and always makes it a very easy comfortable experience, would absolutely recommend.

Highly recommended this tattoo shop. I was in town and wanted to get a piece on a whim and the artist Luis happened to have some walk in availability. He was able to take care of me and my partner. Great dude to talk to and his work is fantastic. I asked for a simple cardinal that came out solid and my partner got a great, detailed image of his motorcycle key.

I have many tattoos and Aidan has giving me my favorite one. His booking process was seamless and his consultation was thorough and fun. He was very patient with me and most importantly, his art is amazing. Highly recommended!

Very very very clean and professional shop. These guys have done it right. A collection of amazing artists and tattooers. Make an appointment, dont expect to walk in. I was tattooed by Eno and Ive already have dozens of people asking me for the artist and the shop. Shop rate is normal for this level of high quality work. The guys are all super nice and not intimidating at all. Very approachable and very courteous.Shop accepts cash and cards, but cash is always best. Just sit still and always tip your artist for a job well done!!Updated with the other side. Pizza n Beer on the backs of my thighs. Didnt feel a thing... errr....

Best tattoo shop ever! I have several tattoos from Adam Honkeykong Hathorn and I love everything about them. Quick and clean, I would highly recommend checking them out next time you are in San Diego. Lots of artist to choose from. Also the atmosphere is fire!!!

I visited Big Trouble Tattoo in San Diego to get a tribute tattoo of my Furry BFF Pugsley after hed passed. Aidan Monahan created the perfect tattoo to honor my precious boy. Big Trouble Tattoo made me feel welcome and comfortable while I waited for Aidan to get setup. The shop is super clean and folks really seemed to care about their clients. I couldnt recommend them more to anyone looking for a great experience and a killer tattoo.

I’ve been here several times to get tattoos from Aidan and it’s always an amazing experience. Aidan is so talented and fun to work with that I just kept coming back. The shop has a great atmosphere and the other tattoo artists are really nice as well. 10/10

I come from the Bay Area to get tattooed by Aidan. No shortage of tattooers in the bay but ain’t none of em do what he does. Sweetest guy and I always know I’m gonna get a dang good tattoo. I trust him and I don’t have to think too much about if it’s gonna turn out the way I want it, it’s always better than I hoped.

The light fell off the wall and almost killed SK8 dad. But it really was Kevin Peterson fault. He pulled it down with way too much force

Popped in for a walk in, no customers in the store so not rush hour or anything. It took the artist an hour to draw our sketches (literally a love heart with two words in them each.) Then told us it would then take 2.5 hours total to do both tiny heart tattoos at which point we decided to pass.

Aidan Monahan is amazing. He was attentive and understanding with all of my needs. He listened was very personable and was lovely. The place is clean and he wasnt creepy or strange. My art was beautiful and just what I wanted 12/10 will always go back

Walked in for Friday the 13th tattoos but wasn’t to satisfied with what they had, had decided to go through what they considered a “walk in” and referenced a photo after he had asked what I had in mind I then showed him I had saved, he then got overly upset stating that it was “someone else’s work” and acted very rudely afterwards. Me and my friends then felt really uncomfortable and decided to leave the shop… personally feel he could have handled the situation a lot more professionally and going forward will definitely NOT recommend anyone go there, shop was really nice but atmosphere was very off

Blown away by not only the service, consideration shown, and professionalism of all the badass fellas at Big Trouble Tattoo, and damn... gonna be hard to go anywhere else... ever! Adam (Hathorn) AKA @honkeykonger is a true artist in every sense... His raw passion and talent is inspiring... and bonus he is smart and funny as fu@k!! Half sleeve in one sitting and I’m already looking forward to the next one!

Absolutely love it here! Honkey Kong is amazing! We drive out from L.A. and its absolutely worth it. Very clean and all of the artists are phenomenal!
