The absolute best tattoo shop I have ever been to! Kaia Love did two of my tattoos and Buju did my first three years ago! I recommend them to everyone! They possess such artistry, kindness and humanity! They are truly collaborative and I love that they champion women and gender diversity and inclusion!

I had an amazing experience working with Diana. I was able to send her my design and reference photos and she elevated it to perfection. On the day of my appointment she went over the design and we tweaked the design to just add a little color. Diana is a true artist and her work is fantastic. This was my first tattoo and I couldnt have been happier with my experience and my tattoo.

Love the vibe at Buju. Everyone was super nice and kind. It was a calm and inviting environment. Sometimes it’s nerve racking going into a new tattoo shop, but not at Buju. Briana did my tattoo and it’s beautiful! I will definitely be back for another. Can’t recommend this shop enough!

I had my eyebrows done by Jeanie and was charged $700 for a 45 minute session. I was not impressed at all with the results once healed, despite following the after care instructions. I’ve had my brows done before elsewhere and was charged a fraction of the price with far better results. I was anxious to get a touch up only to find out that it was not included in the price and would be an additional $100. If you’re looking for permanent makeup, there are places in San Diego that offer way better value for money so I’d skip this place.

Great experience! Meg and all the employees were so friendly :) This was my first tattoo (I have to admit I was nervous) but Meg was sweet, understanding, and patient with me. She communicated really well from consultation all the way to tattoo. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

I have gotten 4 tattoos at Buju and each one has turned out perfectly. The shop is very nice, clean, esthetically pleasing and everyone that works there is friendly and welcoming. I would have a hard time going anywhere else! I’ve been to 2 other shops in the past and this is by far my favorite.

Brian is my go to tattoo guy. He is an amazing artist and really takes time to perfect a design and make it unique. If you’re looking for amazing black and grey work, I could not recommend him more.The shop is beautiful, clean, and unique. Everyone there is so welcoming and friendly. I’ve been tattooed in other shops and they don’t compare to Buju. If you’re looking for talented artists and a friendly atmosphere I highly recommend.

My husband and I both got our first tattoo from Brian. He made the whole process mostly painless. We both very happy with our art and had a easy problem free healing process. Brian helped with design and explaining the process so we were comfortable with everything at every step. He took the pictures we had in mind and worked with us to create the perfect tattoos. The whole shop was welcoming and clean. We are both looking forward to getting future work from Brian and others at the shop.

I went to Buju Tattoo about a month ago but I wanted to wait until the tattoo was mostly healed before doing the review. My small tattoo was done by Brian Lynch. He was extremely good at communicating with me about what exactly I wanted. He was able to show me a few different ideas and I ended up going with his suggestion as it was my favorite as well. During the tattoo he was very professional. I appreciated his positive and fun attitude. The piece itself is symmetrical, the lines are clean, the color is even, and the circle is perfect. His artwork is precise and he has a wonderful eye for placement as well as design. As this was my first tattoo I was nervous but he made me feel calm. After he was very good at explaining care instructions which was helpful. My tattoo is pretty much perfectly healed with no issues what so ever and I couldnt be happier. I hope to get more work from him in the future!

I had the best experience getting my Grandmothers signature tattooed here. Briana is wonderful in every sense of the word. She is gentle and kind and actually listens when you say what you want. I just really loved her spirit and her shop and hope to get more work done by her someday!

I’m really sad to write this, but I feel like it has to be said. I contacted one of the tattooers, David in November of last year. We met a few days later and decided on a design I liked and he felt comfortable with. I told him I would look at my schedule and get him a date for the appointment. I then reached out with dates a few days later and I hear nothing back. Two weeks after, I checked in and still heard nothing. About a month after, I decided to call and they said he would get back to me. Since then, I have emailed him and the shop owner and have heard nothing. The shop owner mentioned he was having problems with his emails, but I have seen multiple of tattoos done by him on his and the shops Instagram. It’s really disappointing because he is so talented and the shop seems amazing. Also, I completely understand if he changed his mind on the concept or what have you, but common courtesy is to at least email back. I would be cautious on contacting this shop. It has been almost four months and I have not heard back.

Jill has been doing my tattoos for the past few years. She is extremely talented. I usually show up with some random idea and she interprets into a beautiful tattoo. I highly recommend her. The shop is beautiful and everyone that works here is welcoming and friendly!

Brian is fantastic! My boyfriend and I recently visited San Diego and he always get a souvenir tattoo. Buju Tattoo was a fun place to get that souvenir! They quickly got us in on short notice and were very friendly. The shop was clean and had so many fun decorations. Brian did a wonderful job on the tattoo - and my boyfriend keeps commenting I didnt even know a tattoo could heal so well! Thanks, Buju & Brian!

I was in for vacation from out of town and they were able to book me an appointment on such short notice! I went to probably around 5 shops before landing on this one. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Curtis is the man. I sent him my design and, even though he was already pretty heavily scheduled, he took me in anyway because he liked the idea of my tattoo. That said a lot to me about how much he cares about and believes in what he does. If Im ever back in California and want a tattoo, Ill only go here.

At first i was skeptical about coming here. each time i tried calling it would go straight to a message saying “the person you are dialing can’t take your call right now” but i decided to just go in person and talk to someone. best decision! i think this is the best tattoo place i’ve ever been to!! brian was amazing and lived up to my friends and i’s expectations!!! also the shop is so cute also i love the details. i’ll definitely be coming back here for my next tattoo.

Great atmosphere, great artists, overall great experience. The eclectic atmosphere is very relaxing and all the artists there were very friendly. Many times they bounced ideas off of each other as well as the clients to see if their designs were what the clients were looking for ensuring customer satisfaction. TL;DRBest tattoo shop in San Diego.Every single artist here is totally amazing. Bryan did a killer job on my tattoo and Im totally stoked on it!Its definitely one of the more expensive shops but its so worth the money. Plus, when it comes to something like tattoos, I want the really good people to work on me and they come at a price that reflects their mastery of the art.That being said, shop minimum is $100.If you have a bigger project in mind, request time for a consultation with an artist that you like. Everyones really friendly and theyre not going to pressure you into something you dont want.

DO NOT WORK WITH SNOE!Working with the Snoe was probably one of the worst experiences ever. First of all not only is she rude but also very unprofessional. Back in October I booked an appointment with her for December 8th, I gave her a deposit and everything seemed fine. Around early December I contacted her regarding my appointment she never got back to me. Not about rescheduling, not about my appointment that I had put a deposit down for. She continued to ignore me, even though she was very active on her social media. it wasn’t until I filed a claim through Venmo, which surprisingly right after she contacted demanding I take down the claim. Snoe has been continuously rude and unprofessional through this whole process, not taking any accountability. She has made it seem like it’s our fault even though she is the one that failed to contact us regarding the appointment. She claims that people have taken advantage of her when it’s very clear she is the one taking advantage of her clients. HONESTLY JUST SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, definitely not worth the headache.IG: _snoeflinga_

Absolutely love this shop, it has such a great atmosphere and feels very welcoming! I just got my second tattoo from Brian there, and hes super fun to work with! This is the second time now Ive been able to give him a pretty basic idea and had him come back with an amazing piece that I love! Thank you Brian!

Welcoming Atmosphere & Great Experience!I booked an appointment with David to work on a cover up. He was very helpful and informative of the process prior to getting it done. Since this was my first big piece I was a tad unsure of myself and found myself tweeking my ideas and letting him know exactly how I felt.David was very professional and direct so there was no confusion about anything which made me feel confident with coming to him for help. Upon arrival, he was very laid back and time there went by really quick! I would highly recommend anyone to go to David from Buju Tattoo.

Ive been tattooed here multiple times (by both Brianna and Jill) and this is, far and away, the BEST tattoo shop Ive ever set foot in. Everyone is so kind, and the work is so, so beautiful. I get almost daily compliments on my pieces.I just finished a chest piece with Jill to cover up some scars and I couldnt be more pleased. Come here, and you wont regret it!

Bad customer service experience with Jill Hollingsworth.SUMMARY: I wasnt happy with the design Jill provided for a tattoo and I feel she took it personally and reacted very harshly - essentially publicly shaming me in the middle of a packed shop. She also did not offer to work with me to adjust the design to make it more in line with what I wanted and stated that the deposit I provided a week earlier went towards the drawing I was not happy with, so Im out $100 for nothing. Even after I had brought her a referral later in the day...FULL: Had a consultation with Jill to explain what I was looking for - left $100 deposit and later emailed her photos. Arrived to the appointment a week later and was taken back by the design Jill provided. It was definitely cool, but diverged far from the source material which made me very nervous. Jill explained (and I understood) why she made the changes - she implored me to trust her professional opinion. The stencil was applied but, after much deliberation, I decided that it wasnt what I had in mind and I did not feel 100% comfortable permanently applying this to my body. As a result, in the middle of a packed shop she stated (loudly), youre way nervous about this tattoo which has made me nervous. I dont feel comfortable tattooing you now or in the future. Some people are NOT made for getting tattoos and I think you might be one of them. Ive tattooed people who were this nervous before and when Im finished theyre upset, so Im not gonna to let that happen again.Note that I do have other tattoos and my only goal was to get the right design so we could avoid that regretful feeling and upset/angry outcome. Overall, I feel she could have approached the situation in a much more respectful, collaborative, and understanding way.

Kurt gave me a great piece of art for my left arm. Hes a great guy, straight shooter, helpful and made it fun. I loved being there. The only downside, I tried to make a second appointment with them for another piece of work, and the artist (not Kurt, I guess I should go to him) requires a $60 deposit just to hold the appointment. That bothered me and made end up going elsewhere. I am sure they all do great work, but that kind of just put me off considering I was a repeat customer.

Briana is the most amazing, beautiful, talented tattoo artist I know. Her presence is calming and gracious. She takes all the the nervousness of getting a tattoo away by her demeanor. The rest of the artists are awesome too!

These are my last 3 tattoos I got done by Meg Knobel. I also have been tattooed by Kristy Nadine. Brianna is a very talented artist but is booked forever so don’t count on getting tattooed by her. Plenty of artists there each with different styles so you’ll find what you want! Trust THEM! Good aftercare instructions and they don’t try to sell you product lines. Bathroom and ATM on-site. They take most forms of payment including PayPal. Shop minimum is $100. Honeybrows does microblading there as well but as it’s a quality job don’t expect cheap prices for anything here. Great decor lots of beautiful plants. I always reccomend this shop! Also a Starbucks within walking distance and lots of street parking usually.

Ive gotten a few tattoos from two artists at this shop, and Im in love with them all. Briana and Kristy did mine, but all the ladies are awesome artists. Follow. Them on Instagram. Buju the pup is also lovable and friendly.

Super clean. Fantastic artists. Jill Hollingsworth was our artist and she was amazing. She listened to what we were going for, what inspiration we had, and totally worked to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. If you go here you won’t be disappointed in the least.

Tbh and fair i got my tatto here over a year ago with Meg. Regardless i owe them this review. My wife has also gotten a tatto here with Curtis. She also did her eyebrows here. Buju is amazing all the artist are great and friendly. Im looking to do more work soon. Definitely the first place i think of when its tattoo time!

It was the worst experience ever. I went there to get a tattoo and the owner told me they dont take appointments, while she was tattooing someone, and then recommended me to another artist. She said the artist even tattooed her and they were really good. I showed up to the appointment and the tattoo I was getting was on my back and they werent letting me know what they were doing and they had a bad attitude and they were talking to their friends in the shop the whole time. As I was getting tattooed I slowly realized that this person was apprenticing and had little experience by the way the other artists were talking to them, which I BS because I was never told that and I went there asking to get tattooed by the best artist in the shop and I was willing to pay a lot of money for a tattoo as well. When they finished I was handed a small mirror to check it out and I could barely see it so I just left because the tattoo artist was rude to me the whole time and it bad experience that I wanted to be over. When my sister looked at it after getting home her mouth dropped and she took a picture so I could see what it looked like more clearly. It was awful! It look amateur, the lettering was shakey and some of the lines were blown out and others were barely there and faded away after a few months. Now I have to go somewhere to get a cover up of a tattoo that was suppose to symbolize something that meant a lot to me but is now something Im embarrassed of. I would think twice before you put your trust in this shop to take care of you and your body.

Zero stars.1. No call back when I left a message.2. No greeting when I entered the shop.3. I was set up with Brian. He said that he needed $100 cash deposit to draw my tattoo and secure an appt date. He did not tell me this beforehand, so I had to go with-drawl the cash.4. I told him what I wanted. He replied You already have enough of that.5. He did not take my name or phone number when I made the appt.6. Brian told me that I would not be able to see the drawing of my tattoo until the day of, but I could send him pictures of ideas of what I wanted.7. I emailed him, and texted him 3 times to confirm. No response, so I did not show up to my appt. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because the shop has many good reviews. Basically Brian manipulated me out of $100. Extremely poor customer service.

Shocking experience. I tried scheduling an appointment with Snow via the Buju website, her personal email, and her instagram and I haven’t heard back after over a week. This is after her posting regular instagram posts. This shows that she must have too much of a cliental to message back. Oh well, my business will be heading elsewhere! #shockingCustomerService

Artistic. Hip. Professional. This tattoo parlor has it all, the staff is willing to go the extra mile for the customers and are always professional. David is a excellent tattoo artist and a veteran in the business. For future tattoos I highly recommend coming to Buju Tattoo.

First, the shop was named after a doggo so obviously the bar was set high. Upon arriving and meeting Kori my expectations were exceeded. The shop was clean and expertly decorated 🐶. Kori talked me through deciding on a design, put both of our ideas together, and before I knew it we were finished. Now I have a little piece of SD with me wherever I go.

Jill is the go to artist to get your tattoo. I got my first tattoo from Jill and she was very professional and clean. The studio and the atmosphere is awesome. Thank you Jill !!!

Establish the price BEFORE you start and pass on that second skin adhesive after the tattoo is done. Its been over a month and it still itches and the outline of the adhesive is still visible.
