Make Me Holey is such a fun, inviting, accepting place with amazing people who are ALWAYS willing to help you in any way they can. Ive gone to Make Me Holey for some years now to take care of my 24 piercings. One time they even helped me curate a whole new look! Yes, we replaced all 24 piercings that day. It was a lovely and fun experience and my piercings look great. Recently I lost a gorgeous piece: (I went to replace it, they were sold out; but, the staff helped me find something that looks great in its place! They also empathized with me about losing the piece! Thats never easy! Anyways, what I am trying to say is this: Go to Make Me Holey, you wont regret it! Their jewelry is quality and they have gorgeous, unique pieces and tip top service!

This was my first visit to see Taryn at Make Me Holey (I live in Santa Cruz and this was well worth the drive) This place is nestled in downtown San Jose next to a nice little coffee shop. I knocked on the door and was welcomed with a big smile and I immediately felt relaxed. Taryn was so kind and gentle. She explained the whole process and helped me pick out my jewelry for my septum piercing. She also recommended replacing my old nose screw with a new flat back piece of jewelry (Awesome!!!). Their jewelry is top notch. Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I love that this shop is by appointment only. The shop itself is beyond clean. I will be returning. Overall Taryn made me feel welcome and loved. She is true to her craft and will take great care of you. I love my new piercing and jewelry. Thank you so much!!! (Happy early birthday to me)

Make Me Holey is hands down my favorite piercing studio! Taryn and Payton always know exactly what I like, and everything they pick out for me is absolutely stunning. They know my tastes even better than I do. They’re both super enthusiastic about what they do, and it really shows in how they help me choose jewelry. They’re passionate about making sure I’m happy with my choices and have an amazing eye for curating pieces that fit my style perfectly. I usually come in with a vague idea of what I’m looking for, but when I try to describe it to Taryn and Payton, they somehow know exactly what I’m talking about and nail it.Every time I make an appointment, I’m excited and look forward to getting my ears styled. I also see Alana when I’m there—she’s super friendly and knowledgeable, with a chill spirit that complements the atmosphere of the studio. Taryn’s passion is obvious, and Payton is always thoughtful and considerate with her jewelry choices. She’s got a great eye for details, like noticing if I have more textured pieces on one ear and figuring out what’s missing on the other.Everyone here genuinely cares about their clients and how well our piercings are healing. Last year, I went a bit overboard with piercings at another studio that didn’t advise me to let my body rest. They allowed me to get 11 piercings in one year, which ended up being too much for my body to handle. The team at Make Me Holey has been incredibly patient and understanding, even though I had those piercings done elsewhere. They’ve been quick to assist with any healing issues Ive had, no matter how many times I’ve come in with finicky or irritated piercings. I truly value their honest advice and trust that I’m always in good hands.Price-wise, the jewelry can be on the expensive side, but they do have a range of options for all budgets. You have to understand that this is high-quality, authentic gold jewelry, and it’s locally made. You’re paying for artistry and quality. I get compliments on my jewelry stack everywhere I go, and while it’s pricey, it’s worth it. It’s something I can keep forever, and it brings me so much confidence—it makes me feel cooler, and my ears and nose feel pretty.

Wow! What a wonderful experience! Make Me Honey was an artistically set up bespoke boutique piercing studio with such a beautiful array of jewelry to choose from. I felt loved up from the moment I walked in to the follow-up phone call I received. Professional, personalized and warm service! Loved it!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. It was pretty easy to schedule an appointment with their website. I picked out a really cute dangly piece, and they helped me install a new backing for my forward helix.Just an FYI. They do limit the number of people who can be inside. I arrived around 15 minutes early to my appointment, but I was told to come back because they already had customers inside.

Hands-down best first experience getting pierced that I could have possibly hoped for!!! This was my first time getting pierced, so I was a little nervous going in but Payton and Alana were so friendly, kind, welcoming, and non-judgmental (I bombarded them with so many newbie questions!) in explaining everything about aftercare dos/donts, helping me select the perfect earrings to complete my style, and walking me through the entire piercing process with such grace, patience, and good humor. Payton is so knowledgeable about jewelry styles/cuts/gems/everything(!) and recommended several gorgeous pieces; I ended up with a beautiful rose gold flower piece with diamonds that she recommended — so beautiful and Im so happy with the decision! Alana is seriously the BEST — their explanation of the entire process really helped calm my nerves as a first-timer, and they made sure to check in with me at every point in the process to make sure I was doing OK. Alana is so so kind, professional, and skilled — and I could really tell how much Alana really cared about me and how much passion they put into piercing — all of which Im sure contributed to the piercing process being 100 times quicker and less painful than Id built it up to be in my head! I am SO grateful to Alana for giving me my first-ever piercings, and so lucky to have found Make Me Holey! Im excited to come back for my follow-up visit :)

My experience getting piercings and jewelry here was exactly what I was hoping for. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable, the environment was clean and quiet, and the procedure was performed with precision. I was able to pick out jewelry I really liked, I was given very clear after care instructions, and my follow up questions were all answered thoroughly. I am very satisfied with my initial visit and downsizing, and Ill definitely be back when I want more.

I went to get my second piercings done with Taryn. Since I got my first piercings done when I was a baby, I was really nervous. Taryn was super sweet and made me feel really comfortable during the appointment. I highly recommend going to her, and she also provided really great customer service! I didn’t quite catch the receptionists name but he was awesome and super friendly as well. Definitely going back here in the future!

I got my ear piercing done with Alana and with help from Peyton at the front desk. They were both so nice and patient! Very helpful in picking out what you want for your jewelry and where, very educational, as well. I never felt rushed or pressured at any point. They have great communication. I would recommend them for piercings and would definitely return for services, and for beautiful jewelry once my piercings heal and I can start swapping out.I got done my second hole on my lobe and my cartilage. I had been nervous from hearing that the cartilage can really hurt, but Alana made it super easy and the only thing I felt after was how happy I was when I saw it in the mirror!These photos are fresh out the door, so it’s a little red still. I just couldn’t wait to want to tell others about this great experience! :)

My friend and I went in to get our earlobes re-pierced and Alana knew exactly how to go about it. She and Cody also helped us pick out our starter jewelry and they were really helpful with the different shapes, price ranges, and aftercare instructions.Would recommend to friends!

Overall, great experiences here, though I had a small issue this time around. My septum piercing closed up after removing it for surgery, so I made an appointment to have it done again. It was not pierced on the spot they marked on my septum, its 2-3mm away from the marked spot. It ended up being placed quite a bit higher up(i can feel it rubbing cartilage) and further back in my nose than the original piercing. Because of this, I wont be able to use the jewelry i bought from them the first time around. It was kind of expensive and i really liked it so im a bit sad about that 🙁. It can be hard to notice these things in their mirrors, but it was noticable once i got home.I will update this after reaching out to them and seeing what comes of it. I would still recommend them, one issue wont change that, though I do think its important to put this kind of thing out there.

My husband has had pain and bleeding from his piercing. We were told there would be support and help if needed as this was his first piercing and we don’t know what to do. We have each called multiple times left multiple messages, and never received a call back. We are left to go to our actual doctor to ask for help given I am concerned he has an ear infection.

I got my 2nd lobe piercings done by Taryn, who was super friendly and kind and lovely! Taryn helped me pick out hardware that would complement my aesthetic & existing stud, was super thorough and detailed in explaining the whole process, and was also fun to chat with :) I’ll definitely be coming back here for more piercings once these are healed.

I had some general ideas for what I wanted but not an overall plan, and their advice on practicality and styling for my individual wants, anatomy, and budget were invaluable. I had 4 terrible piercing bumps on my ears I mean terrible huge piercing bumps, I had gotten them originally pierced at a different place and I found this place close by and went to get my piercing checked out here. After they changed the bar and gave me instructions on what to do next my piercing my bumps are gone/almost entirely gone! Everyone was super lovely as well the vibes were very positive.

I wish I could give them 10 stars!! Such a good piercing experience from Taryn, and everyone else I interacted with was so kind. I had my septum done at another piercing place and was not happy at all with the placement. That piercing was painful and placed lowed and farther back than what I’d seen from other septums. I came here for a consultation a few weeks ago and had the jewelry removed. Karissa explained where they would repierce and answered all my questions about getting it pierced again and healing time. I came back today and the process was so much better than the other studio! I felt very comfortable and safe here and the vibes of the studio were amazing. Taryn was so understanding and empathized with my last experience and gave me a walk through of exactly what she was going to do. The actual poke was the expected amount of discomfort (2/10) and the placement is perfect! I can’t say enough good things about Make Me Holey and I’ll definitely be back when I get my ears done.

After a bad experience at another shop, Taryn restored my confidence in getting more piercings! She made sure I was comfortable and informed the entire time, and their selection of jewelry is so pretty. Ive been back several times, and its always a great experience. So far, Ive gotten my tragus, rook, second helix, and double nostril done here, and Im in love ❤️

Karissa and staff are so kind. Karissa goes through every detail of the piercing process before actually piercing. She really makes you feel at ease. Karissa has pierced me 5 times and each time she has made me feel like an old friend, picking up where we left off. I once asked for a belly button consult and she was very nice about letting me know my anatomy would not allow for a healthy or safe piercing. I really appreciated her professionalism and genuine care for my body. Staff at the reception desk were very clear and concise with how to care for piercings.All of the above is why I only trust Make Me Holey to do my piercings. If you want true professionals I only recommend them.

I’ve only been here twice, but I think it’s really nice, I got pierced by Taryn last time, I wanted to get an eyebrow piercing, but she told me what she wasn’t able to do it due to my anatomy, and gave me realistic expectations for what I wanted, so I landed on a double nostril piercing, she asked for my budget, so that way I got jewelry I could afford, and when it came to the piercing she took her time to make sure they were symmetrical, walked me through every step, and I love how they turned out, they’re super cute, and I highly recommend her or this place in general if you want to get pierced here.

I’ve been to a few piercing places and this one is my favorite, even though it’s also the priciest. The staff was super friendly and you can easily tell their jewelry is higher quality (hence the expensive price).It is by appointment only but I called, in need of a rook replacement because mine had fallen off (which happened twice from another place). They said they didn’t mind taking walk-ins as long as you are willing to wait which ended up just a 20 min wait.They also have a wide selection of various styles, most likely you’ll find something you like.Located in downtown so parking is a little challenging but there is a parking lot that belongs to an asian supermarket just a few stores down.

They have sooo many options of jewelry and they’re always updating w new options.I’ve gotten multiple piercings done here and they help with everything. From making an appointment to selection of placement and jewelry piece to aftercare.I’ve run into a couple mishaps getting pierced by OTHER locations and have come here and they’ve helped me get back to health, made good recs and offer care/support.Can’t say enough good stuff. This place is really expensive. I spent about 450 dollars on 2 piercings. The employee told me that the cheapest earring is around 100 dollars. They also charge for downsizing. The employee wasn’t that friendly either.

Everyone is so inviting, friendly, and willing to answer any questions you have. They really care about quality piercing and I can’t recommend getting pierced here enough.

Not only are they owned and operated by fantastic women, but they really care about the full experience from initial piercing to being fully healed. They are very clean, friendly and helpful. They do book out and are by appointment only, so scheduling in advance is advised.They pierce with only the highest grade jewelry, promoting the best healing possible, and have a lovely inventory to choose from. I love that I get pierced with “pretty” jewelry from the start. I would note that it is not a budget piercing studio. The jewelry can range from $25 to several hundred dollars. So there are options for every budget.

Karissa performed my first cartilage piercing, and it was such a comfortable experience. I was a little nervous about piercing my cartilage, but Karissa was so gentle that it ended up being a painless process for me. Everyone in the shop is so friendly and helpful. Shana was my piercer. She really took the time to make sure everything was symmetrical and that I was ready and comfortable. Answered all my questions. Everything was super sterile (autoclaved) and my piercings healed without any issues. Everyones certified as well.

Ive been pierced by them multiple times already and every single time they never fail to answer all the questions I have and give thorough explanations for anything I ask. Theyre very patient and friendly when talking as well, and dont rush the process. Im grateful for their appointment system because it means they will be focused specifically on only the people scheduled to come in and are never distracted by walk-ins, and I really appreciate it.I would absolutely trust Karissa with any piercing because she was upfront and honest about saying no for some piercings based on my anatomy. I think its a great sign of a responsible piercer because it really shows that they have the clients healing processes in their best interest and want to make sure theyre not setting us up for failure, or a making us have a hard time healing. Make Me Holey is also very honest about the material and make of each of their jewelry pieces and has a never-ending supply of high quality metals like 14k gold, implant grade titanium, and niobium.They are extremely sterile, autoclave everything, always use new needles for each piercing, everything about their practice makes me feel assured that Im receiving the best care. Cody and Taryn are also equally as great to talk to, and also have a lot of good advice and knowledge.Karissa is also great at adapting to what her client needs to be comfortable; Im the kind of person who gets nervous when I dont know absolutely everything thats happening when my body is getting modified, so Karissa made sure to tell me every step of the way what she was doing with the needle even if I couldnt see it. My friend got pierced here as well and is squeamish about knowing everything, but she told me that Karissa was absolutely wonderful with keeping her calm and not being TOO detailed with her actions XD

Both my piercer and the lady at the front desk were super nice. We ended up not being able to get the piercing I came in for because of my anatomy but we did do double nostrils. They are perfect. They are symmetrical and barely hurt. My piercer Taryn spent a lot of time getting them to line up and they turned out amazing. I will be going back here for the other piercings Im wanting.

Have never been so impressed with a piercing studio!I appreciate the cleanliness & extra COVID-precautions.Also love the online appointment system, & how detailed the website is in regards to their policies, aftercare, etc. In-person, they are just as thorough & informative.They offer a beautiful selection of jewelry, & despite browsing online, I still needed some time to choose. Cody & Karissa were both very knowledgeable, patient, & kind, & helped me to find the perfect piece.The actual piercing process was the easiest Ive ever experienced. Karissa is definitely a professional, but she also took care to explain each step -- & to seek consent -- at every turn.Make Me Holey has really made sure to pay attention to every detail, & why would one settle for less when regarding holes pierced into/through ones body?

Super helpful and so nice and comforting! Came in for a consultation for some healing piercings and left with new jewelry. I believe it was Karissa who helped me and she was so nice and explained all the jewelry options to me as well as helped stay within my budget. I did flat piercing here. It was a great experience! The studio is very clean and they have strict covid-19 policy. Payton and Taryn were so nice and friendly. Wonderful staff that was extra dedicated to me finding the perfect pieces. I went in for three ear piercings on myself and two on my boyfriend at the time. I made it clear I wanted him to not know how much anything was because this trip was for his birthday. I had an incredibly positive experience at Make Me Holey, and I have been recommending them to everyone. I went in for a septum piercing with Shana, and she was completely professional, explained the whole process to me while she was prepping, made sure I felt comfortable through the appointment -- she could tell that I was getting stressed, and she gave me her plush Narwhal to hold while she performed the piercing (which was exactly what I needed!), and everything went smoothly.The shop is very clean, their receptionist was knowledgeable and very helpful in answering my questions, the jewelry is beautiful (a little on the pricier end, but it is all high quality and aligns with the shops high standards of care), and I really appreciated that the piercing stations were private. Also, you can very easily book your appointment online, which was great.All in all, I would highly recommend the services at Make Me Holey, they are absolutely worth it!

The front store person was extremely helpful with assisting me on choosing between gorgeous, quality earrings, that I will be keeping for a very long time. My piercer was extremely knowledgeable, moved quick during my piercing, and helped me feel at ease. I was expecting to have an ugly stud until my piercing healed, but turns out they have a huge selection of really cute studs with flat backs that are great for healing. I got both of my lobes pierced. I couldnt ask for a better piercing experience! Karissa was very gentle and explained everything she was doing as she did it. The jewelry selection is superb, and the process was great! The entire shop is bright and well-decorated.Remember to bring your ID! Its really important.

I’ve had 28 piercings total and make me holey has been the best so far! I’ve gotten my 3 most recent done by them and I am very happy with the cleanliness, jewelry choices, and professionalism from the friendly staff every time I’ve been in.

It has been a month and a few weeks now since I got my nipple pierced with Karissa and I have absolutely zero complaints. Not only was she the perfect mixture of professional, yet warm, but she did an absolutely amazing job. Everything was as clean and sterile as one could dream of, and she really made sure she got the piercing in straight, and as painless as possible. It has healed perfectly, just by following her instructions to a T. I would recommend her to all of my friends and intend to come to her if I ever want to get any more holey.If you are reading this Karissa-- thank you so much!

Super nice and helpful staff!! Theyve put up with my rocky healing process on my cartilage; for that alone they deserve 5 stars 😂 Super chill atmosphere. Their piercing prices are totally reasonable; their jewelry is a tad expensive but thats just because its all high quality. I recommend them to anyone looking to get pierced in San Jose!

Shop was wonderful and staff could not have been friendlier. I have other face and ear piercings but this was my first body piercing. They made me feel at ease and confident in their services. They may be slightly more than other shops nearby but the service and expertise from these ladies is totally worth it! I will be back for more!

I received earrings as a present, so I figured it was time to get ear piercings. I did some research on it, and found that going to the mall to get pierced might not be a sterile/safe choice. I decided that I should leave it to an expert and found this place on Yelp!I admit that I was a little worried because Ive always thought these places would be dark and metal, but this place is actually really comfortable to me! Theres interesting art all over the walls. Karissa (she has the cool dreadlocks) and the lady at the front desk are really friendly. Its not like what you see in movies at all (lol sorry for being ignorant)I went in thinking that my ear piercings from over a decade had closed, but Karissa checked and they hadnt completely closed. She decided not to charge me for re-opening the holes.She had a beautiful collection of earrings on the wall. Theyre all very affordable, and most importantly, they are nickel-free! One of my gripes with jewelry have been that theyre pretty but theyre cheap because theyve mixed a ton of impure metals. Not at this place!Ill definitely come back to this place to shorten the back of the earring (once the swelling is over) and check out their other earring styles :)

Make Me Holey is a great piercing shop. Everyone is super nice and friendly. They are doing a great job with covid protocols and I feel completely safe. Only one customer is allowed in the shop at a time and it is by appts only. Karissa is the best! She explain each step and is very patient. Definitely recommended! 😊

I was a little nervous about getting pierced but I went in and everyone was so so sweet!!!! Super professional and clean, the atmosphere is cozy yet modern , my nose piercing was wonderfully placed and healed quickly after I followed the care instructions , definitely going back for any jewelry (because they have a lot of cute stuff) or any piercings id like done in the future. I really really recommend this place!!! I came in for a navel piercing and my piercer, Karissa, made me feel very comfortable. She didn’t do anything without asking or telling me and is obviously well educated in her profession! She walked me through the correct type of naval piercing for my anatomy and what she was going to do. If you have social anxiety like me, this place will make you feel at home. :)

All of the staff were extremely friendly and professional. I went in for my first piercings and they did great to make me feel comfortable.

Taryn was super gentle while piercing and everyone I spoke to was so nice and knowledgeable! Everything was sterilized and clean and Im very happy with my ear piercing!

Karissa was great. She informed me on everything she was about to do before she actually did it and told me everything I needed to know for the after care for my 3 ear piercings. I actually fainted after she did the first piercing but she remained calm and patient and let me take my time to recover and made sure I was completely comfortable before she continued.

This place is so cute! I had an issue with a nose piercing and they were very accommodating. Got me in on a short notice because of the urgency and replaced the old jewelry (that wasnt from their store) with a new piece that I picked out. Btw, LOVED their collection! And my piercing has been fine since then. I have extremely sensitive skin that acts up at the slightest mention of bad metals. Everything healed immediately after my visit. Looking forward to going there for my next piercing!

Awesome place very clean and very professional staff .I got my naval piercing done from shana and she is great this was my first body piercing was quite nervous but then it was quick and easy. So definitely recommended.Just one thing be there on time they are very punctual I got my 1st appointment canceled coz I was late for 10 mins and paid cancellation changes for that. So be on time 😊

I had such a good experience here. Everyone there is very nice and welcoming. Anji did my piercings and made me feel very safe and well taken care of. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and laid back. Everything felt extremely clean and professional but also had a hippy vibe which I really dug. Definitely will be going back and highly, HIGHLY recommend going there

I got my ears pierced here earlier this year. They charge for the gem which I think was close to $50-$80 per ear, and then like another $25 for piercing your ear. I ended up spending close to $260 for two ear piercings. Crazy expensive. She did not give me any aftercare instructions. All she said was dont touch it at all. You dont need to do anything else. I even told her Im quite sensitive and if there was some kind of spray or solution she would recommend. She said no again. Its been 6-7 months now and my ear continues to get infected and has not healed at all. Everyone I have asked told me I should be using some solution to clean my earrings. They say to rotate it so that I can clean it properly and keep it from getting too stuck. My earring got so infected I had trouble getting it out. I paid for overpriced earrings and I ended up throwing them out. What a waste of $260.

Had to get a piercing reopened after I left it out for too long and they made it as painless as they possibly could.Super cute variety of jewelry with something for everyone!

Ive gotten 6 piercings over the past few years at MMH. The staff has always been absolutely amazing and its been pretty cool to see the studio grow. Most recently I went in to buy new jewelry and, by chance, was able to downsize some of the posts! I didnt even realize I never got them downsized. Im so freaking grateful for their service-- I wore earbuds with my tragus for the first time since 2017 without noticing the piercing!!!! 50/10. I will always recommend MMH

People that work here are amazing nice and verry helpful. My girlfriend got her ear pierced here 1 year ago she got a little expensive but high quality jewelry and it was healing verry nicely. About a month ago she made a mistake and it got hit and started acting up she went back in via appointment and was told everyrhing she needed to know to make it heal up agian for free. It started acting up a little later and she went back in and they gave her a free piercing change and cleaning. All she had to pay for the the new jewelry.

Highly professional and very patient in piercing my 5yo daughters ears. Took time to explain every step to my daughter and get her approval. Not cheap, but good quality jewelry with secure, flat backs. Would highly recommend.

The shop is beautifully decorated with jewelry and art work. I found this place because I was looking to get some holes in my ears repierced. Its a woman owned shop and she makes the whole appointment very easy and relaxed. I was done in less than 20mins. Its in a good location in downtown sj, with easy parking options. I will be going back for all future piercings.

I love the nose jewelry. Its the first place I found nose jewelry that has a back that snaps on to prevent losing the gem stones. There is wide selection of beautiful stones available. Prices are very reasonable.

The lady is extremely nice and made me feel comfortable. I went in to buy a nose ring. She was very helpful with the jewelry I could choose and helped me put it in. She said I could come back if I wanted to switch my nose ring back to a nose stud.

This was the 2nd time Ive gotten my nipples pierced (1st time was at an out of town shop), and the great professional service and how accurate and nice my piercer was here made me realize what a janky job I had done before. Must have an appointment for jewelry purchase yet there is no option for only jewelry purchase when attempting to make an appointment. I would much rather support a local business then shop online but I may have no choice.

Tried to book appointment many times and got canceled on.. Then went in person and was talk to very rudely and very Inconsiderate with the struggle I was hanging with booking a appointment and trying to buy jewelry.. Young lady basically Waved me off with her hand saying she down have time to help nor cares.. Very inconsiderate for struggle I was having and being handicap.. The people here were very helpful and kind. Of course this place will be more expensive than some place at the mall but its worth it in my opinion because the people here are very informative and professional. Its run by females so it feels not as intimidating in my opinion.

Refused to pierce my belly button because i “wasn’t the right shape”i then went to a different piercer who told me that the piercer at “make me holey” was just inexperienced. Got my piercing from the different place and it turned out and healed perfectly!

I love the place. Staff are professional and friendly. Tools and jewelry are sterilized. They are also control the healing process and and help insert new jewelry bought from them.
