Absolutely wonderful experience. Both Kaylen and the person at the front desk (I forgot to catch her name) were just wonderful. They thoroughly walked me through the process and the aftercare and patiently and enthusiastically answered all the (Im sure) annoying questions I had. Im 42 and have been wanting a helix and tragus for...2 decades? now... Shouldve come here way sooner. If youre on the fence...pop in. Its beautiful, professional, and so friendly. I plan to come back for all my future jewelry as well. BEAUTIFUL stuff.

First time client, and Im never going anywhere else for my piercings and ink. I had my lower lip pierced and she was so quick and professional, it was a painless and positive experience. I went on my birthday, and everyone was so incredibly nice and awesome to me! But one employee REALLY stuck out and went above and beyond- her name is Sam, and I would HIGHLY recommend that you seek her out to assist you. shes such a delightful pleasure and she made me feel like I mattered to her. Honestly just had the best customer service exchange in my life. I had a minor jewelry mix up at the old Bellevue location under different management and went into this location in Udistrict to sort it out. Everyone I interacted with from start to finish was so nice, so understanding, and so accommodating. They fixed a problem that wasn’t even really theirs and I can’t thank you guys enough for such a positive interaction that I had mentally prepared for going an entirely different way. They are specially ordering the jewelry I need and I can’t express my gratitude enough. HIGHLY RECCOMEND THESE GUYS!!!

Robert did a great job on my nose piercing, hes super calm and he could tell I was nervous but he made it really quick and easy. The front desk staff were really sweet too, I was offered water and glucose tablets afterwards. I definitely recommend this place if you are nervous about piercings because the whole experience was great and I love my new piercing so much!

First time here, but got my second lobe piercing! Robert did a fantastic job and was super patient with me despite my nervousness. The needle piecing was quick, clean and smooth—honestly all I could ask for. The piercing service itself isn’t super expensive—the jewelry can be a bit pricy though so something to keep in mind when booking.

Just got my fourth piercing with Kaylen. She’s so friendly and warm, she makes you feel right at ease. She takes time to make sure she’s expertly placing the piercing just right, and she’s a true professional who takes pride in her work . She’ll probably be seeing me soon for my fifth!

I got my lobes pierced by Robert and Rachel helped me pick out my jewelry. They were very patient and respectful throughout the entire process, answering all my questions and helping me with advice and anything I needed. Robert especially was really great, I barely felt a prick and he pierced both ears really evenly. Great display of jewelry too. Expensive but definitely worth the price especially if this is your first time.

I had my piercings done here a while ago, but I am still so jaded from the experience I need to leave a negative review. The shop comes off as pretentious and nickel diming students wanting to have some fun.I was understandably anxious getting a helix piercing done for the first time, and when I asked if everything looked normal immediately after getting pierced I was met with a condescending of course it will hurt and be bloody, I just stabbed it- no comfort or recourse provided.And the prices here are RIDICULOUS. Obviously taking advantage of well off students putting things on parents credit cards. When I went in to get downsized, the check up was free- great, right? The stupid little nub replacement cost $15- they actually almost forgot to charge me and of course, apologized when they almost forgot. The miniscule piece of metal likely costs them a few cents at most, and they have the audacity to advertise free downsizing.Going here put me off from ever getting pierced again.

Had a tattoo with josh. The quality of the work was good and he worked fast. But i cant recommend anyone to go to him.I have a low pain tolerance and asked to take breaks and he was very reluctant to do that with me. also belittled me for asking for lidocaine, and also told me that i should take my mask off if im starting to feel light headed.i dont think he was trying to be mean, but he didnt create a comfortable space for me which is why i wont go back despite liking my tattoo. (also small note, i came in with my own designs, so i can only comment on his ability to tattoo, not his ability to design)

I’ve been coming here for years for body jewelry and piercings. The staff is always so welcoming, friendly, and super helpful in picking out what’s best for you. i won’t go anywhere else for a piercing! Also very lgbtq friendly.They did all three of my helix piercings, as well as my daith. their fine jewelry has a warranty so if a gem falls out or it breaks in anyway you can bring it back and they’ll replace it, free of charge.Thanks for being awesome Deep Roots!

I had the most pleasant experience with El the piercer. I am usually so nervous and they made me feel so calm. They were professional and informative while making me feel comfortable. Their jewelry recommendations were so helpful. I trust them with my life!

I’m only leaving two stars because previously I’d had only good experiences with this shop. While the jewelry is a little pricey, I never felt bothered by that because the experience was good and the selection was too. That was until my last visit, where Alyssa behind the counter was genuinely unpleasant and condescending to me. I might’ve been indecisive and taking a minute to decide what I wanted, but treating a customer with the energy she was sucks and I won’t be back.

I went to see if I could get my navel re pierced, and had a really good experience!I called in on a Saturday morning and the receptionist was super sweet and let me know my options (booking on the website or doing a walk in). I did a walk in that day and was able to talk with a piercer within 15 minutes!For context, my navel was pierced unprofessionally before and has bad scarring.Robert was super helpful and kind in explaining in depth why getting my navel re-pierced wasn’t a safe option. I really appreciated that he didn’t just say no without explanation.Even though I wasn’t able to get the piercing I wanted that day, I still had a really positive experience! The environment is very welcoming, and the staff are super sweet!I definitely will be coming back for a future (different) piercing or tattoo!

Called and asked questions on a weekday afternoon and staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Ended up coming in same day and was able to wait for about ~30 minutes for a walk in appointment for nose ring jewelry purchase and swap. Place was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this place!

I lost a dear friend 9 years ago and every year on the anniversary I try to make the day not about loss, but about something extra positive. This year I decided to visit Deep Roots and get some old piercings revamped. The shop was super clean and you can tell the staff take great pride in what they do and sell. The counter staff were all incredibly delightful; so friendly, personable and positive.Jacob, my piercer, was so professional and knowledgeable. I appreciated the care he took with me and I love the way my ears look. I will definitely be back. I am so happy.

Francesca took amazing care of my six year old during her ear piercing. Francesca welcomed six (!!) eager family members to accompany my daughter, who was super casual about the whole thing, breathed and didnt make a peep, said it felt like nothing. The healing has been amazing and earrings are super cute. Thank you to the whole team! For parents, I recommend some prep visits- we went once for a meet and greet with Francesca, and once to choose jewelry, so by the time her big day came she was 100% ready.

Got both nostrils pierced by Franceska on Thursday and she was very honest about not being comfortable with piercing my septum due to the fact I’ve had a rhinoplasty within the last 8 months so I was very grateful she didn’t just wing it / put me at risk. I came back next day to consult with Robert who has more experience with piercings and he was able to pierce me with no issues at all. I’m very satisfied with the employees, the professionalism, and the jewelry. I love this place.

Fantastic experience getting four new ear piercings! The shop has a huge variety of jewelry and the staff is super helpful finding something that fits your style and budget. My piercer was super friendly and made sure the experience was safe and comfortable. The best fine jewelry in the U-District, Seattle! The girls up front and so helpful and the place is very clean and beautiful. I’ve been there twice and both times, the artist are helpful and honest regarding the best thing for my piercing and healing. I have called too, just for info and the staff was informative and showed so much patience with me when I was struggling with a labret piercing. All is good and I’m healing beautifully! Shy helped me at the counter and was really helpful in recommending some beautiful and unexpected pieces. Great taste!John was my piercer this visit and did a helix and flat for me. Even though it was far from my first piercing, I still got nervous, and Johns friendly and chatty disposition really helped to calm my nerves. The piercing still hurt of course, but I feel like John had a gentle hand because my piercings were barely sore afterwards. I got the piercings on 12/29/2019 and they seem to be healing well, Im really happy!Ive gotten almost all of my piercings at this Deep Roots so far, and Ill definitely be back if I decide to add another piercing to my collection. :)

We were in Seattle during the week of the Taylor swift concert, and I just so happened to lose one of my gauges - I searched around Google a bit to find a shop where I can find a nice pair of earrings for a good price and Im glad I chose Deep roots! I called ahead first to see if they had any earrings in my size (2G) and they said they did! Was easy to locate and head in. They were a bit busy when I got there but the staff was honestly so welcoming and kind that I wasnt bothered by it. I had a lovely employee help me out and I got the coolest pair of red spirals - They fit perfectly and are comfortable and high quality! Extremely affordable price too. I dont live in Seattle but visit at least twice or more every year, so any time I need more jewelry in the future Ill make sure to stop by. Thank you for being so awesome! Super great experience! My friends and I called ahead a day before to make an appointment for some piercings and they were super accommodating and nice on the phone, and then when we came for our appointment everyone was really great! Our piercer was so funny and nice and put us all at ease, it was super quick and easy and the shop is so professional and clean! Definitely will be coming back here again!

I’ve gotten seven piercings in my life, and this was the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. I have a history of fainting when getting piercings, and Lou was so understanding and took such good care of me to make sure I felt okay. Lou gave me a glucose tablet and a cold compress, and held a fan up to me when I felt lightheaded. My friend was allowed to come in with me and we all chatted the whole time, it was a really friendly and welcoming environment that helped counteract the nerves I had about the piercing. Lou gave me time to settle between piercings, and allowed me a lot of time to recover before getting up. I didn’t feel rushed at all. Also, I went with a group of friends and the front desk staff was so patient and kind as we looked at a ton of jewelry options. Overall, this was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend Deep Roots.

The lady that did my piecing was super fast and comforting. I got very good care instructions and the jewelry is super clean. They don’t even let you touch it. My nose looks beautiful !

Went to get earlobes repierced here. Staff was very nice and helpful. The jewelry selection is great but they don’t sell earrings in pairs but by each unit so before I knew it if I wanted anything that wasn’t a plain stud of gold or silver, we were looking at $150 and up PER earring.

I got three lobe piercings by Robert, I highly recommend booking with him. I have vasovagal response and typically faint around needles. Robert was knowledgeable about the condition and took every precaution to ensure a smooth piercing session, and I didn’t faint! He was quick, efficient and created a calm environment through the entire session.

Amazingly quick and the staff were super nice, friendly, and helpful!! Will be coming there for my downsizing and any other piercings!!

Got my triples pierced by Jacob today and it went great!! If you’re super nervous like me, he will do a great job calming you down. I genuinely barely felt the needle, Jacob is super talented! Also loved the front desk ladies everyone was super nice :)

I came into this lovely establishment nervous and hohestly a little unsure of what I wanted.The lovely staff helped me book my appointment at 4:20 which is absolutely whimsical.I ended up getting my septum ring pierced again, and boy was it spicy.All the staff here is really amazing and they are really kind souls.Many piercing shops in the Seattle area feel kinda stuck up. But this one is filled with nothing but lovely down to earth humans with a passion for what they do.They have amazing designer jewelry.But they also have really amazing basic options as well.

So professional and safe I refuse to get piercings elsewhere. Friendly and even fit you in whenever possible if no appointment, though on the busiest days not always possible. Theyve also helped me remove and replace piercings for situations in which it was needed, and give expert guidance on healing. Extremely friendly and welcoming and supportive. I only have experience with ear piercings however, and Ive never expanded the piercings, but theyre legitimate and expert piercings with appropriate gauge.

Brought my 7 year old to have her ears pierced & it was a great experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. ALL the staff was so kind and amazing! Explained everything thoroughly, I didn’t feel one ounce of mistrust at any point. Francheka was amazing, she made my daughter feel very comfortable, I will for sure be coming back for myself ! I went in for a simple jewelry change and walked out with multiple pieces that I just love. The counter staff was very knowledgeable and gave me full confidence in my decisions. The piercer, John, had a great energy and made me feel very comfortable and that I was in good hands. I can’t think of anywhere I’d recommend more than deep roots to get pierced!! My best friend and I have an annual tradition to get pierced here and the staff are so kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. I was pierced by John today who was SO kind and made me feel so at ease. The staff here will not do anything that would pose an increased risk to their clients and they had my best interest at heart. Was able to get a walk-in to get nostril jewelry removed which was awesome. Rates are reasonable, looks and smells clean, the front of house staff were super nice and the piercer I worked with was really friendly and made me feel comfortable. It also went really quickly and I was able to ask a couple of questions without feeling rushed. Havent been pierced here yet but would absolutely come back!

Fantastic jewelry selection at a wiiiiide range of price points. I worked with Sarah to get a conch and helix piercing and talk styling for future piercings, and they were phenomenal! After we picked out all this gorgeous jewelry, I had to cut down some of my options to stay within my price range, and Sarah totally worked with me. I had a great experience and cannot wait to go back for more!

I had a last minute consultation about a piercing job done elsewhere. My nose piercing was super irritated. In as little as 10 minutes, Sarah in the Seattle venue, was able to help size my piercing correctly. It’s been about 3 days now, and the small bump forming from my previous piercing has completely disappeared! Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable, and I had a great appointment :)

I finally did it, I booked an appointment to get my Navel pierced. The bf and I went down to Seattle from B.C., for my birthday weekend, I googled a few good places and Deep Roots Seattle came up, I checked out their IG and they had really beautiful jewelry which I am always on the lookout for! I wish I got more names, but it was a wonderful experience, all of the staff were extremely professional. They had a guest piercer in Tanner, he was extremely professional and quick. I appreciated his attention to detail and professionalism. They helped me pick a champagne tinted navel piercing which I adore. So far shes healing cute too. I ended up booking an appointment for the next day because I loved their jewelry selection so much, to change out my tragus piercing with a lil White Gold dagger. They have really unique and beautiful pieces. I would love to stop by again in the future to spend more time looking at their jewelry options.. I really appreciated the girl(s) at the front suggestions, and maybe in a year I can get a fancy navel piece as well. I felt very comfortable. Ive gotten 4 piercings from this deep roots location. Every time the staff has been kind and attentive and the piercers were professional and knowledgable. Their jewelry can be a bit pricy, but they have cheaper options if you ask for them. The quality is high though, and Ive never has a piercing get irritated from their jewelry, cheaper or not. The piercers are willing to work with you to achieve the look you want while accounting for your habits and body structure.

They pierced my septum way too high, to the point that the jewelry was barely visible out of the bottom of my nose, and when I went back a few days later to ask for a different piercers perspective she simply said it was done right the first time and I probably have bad anatomy. I ended up getting my septum redone at pierced hearts.

It had been 7 years since my last piercing, my first cartilage piercing and the first time getting a piercing without numbing cream so I was extremely nervous but the artists and staff at the shop made it a wonderful experience. The ladies at the front desk were knowledgeable on the jewelry they had and were patient with my indecisive self. John, who did my piercings did an amazing job of calming my nerves, making me laugh and talking to me to ease my mind. He explained what he was doing step by step and there was minimal pain. It made me think that the other shops I went to used numbing cream because they werent good piercers. 2 days after getting my piercings and Im already looking at other piercings to get and will definitely go back to Deep Roots.

Jewelry purchase at Deep Roots tattoo to change head on existing nose piercing. I paid over $80 for a rose gold head. I am an MRI technologist and work in a superconductive magnet. When I got to work, my new gold jewelry was being torqued and pulled very hard by the magnet, this means there are ferrous materials in the piercing and it is not Rose gold. When I called Deep Roots I was accused of yelling at them when I explained the materials were not what was sold to me. The manager I spoke with stated she purchased the jewelry herself and assured me it was gold, and she would forward my information to the owners. I explained I needed to have it removed as soon as possible as it was not safe to wear at work. She told me there are no exchanges or returns for jewelry and then she hung up the phone on me. Im hoping the owner will call me as soon as possible to get the situation rectified. I am giving one star as the people who checked me in and performed my service were very professional, informative and had excellent customer service skills. I went to the location in Seattle near Washington University.

I got a cartilage piercing on the whim.I’ve heard good stuff and decided to swing by one random day. The person who rung me up was super helpful by walking me through all the different options I had and the pricing. Ended up picking the smallest opal option they had. The person who pierced my ear was professional and quick. The whole process took around 10-15 mins without appointment. I appreciate how they emphasized how important aftercare was! Definitely will come back for different piercings in the future!

Got my nose pierced here about a month ago, and it’s healed perfectly! I’ve never had a better piercing experience. Sarah was so kind and reassuring, and did such a good job. Highly recommend!

Ben did both of my lobe piercings and I love them! He was excellent and his technique gave me no pain. He took great care in educating me and was just super friendly. I ended up getting one piercing and came back the very next day for another one because my experience had been so great. Definitely recommend! They also have beautiful jewelry. You get what you pay for here which is very high quality service and jewelry. No cheap stuff here and I know the high quality is the reason my healing process has been without issue.

My visit was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end. The staff are serious about cleanliness and safety. From the temperature check at the door to double checking my vaccination card I could tell they had my best interest in mind. At no time did I feel that my health and safety were at risk. I have just got to say....Wow!!! What an incredible place! Deep roots was full of amazing options I almost couldn’t decide. It was my best friends first piercing besides her ear lobes and we both had an amazing experience. Our piercers name was Chad, he was sooo good at keeping us both calm through the entire process start to finish! I took one for the team and went first so she could see what it’s like. I decided to go with a surface bar and chad once again kept me calm by telling me to focus on my breathing an then would tell me to take big deep breaths during the initial piercing part. And wow I am so in love with this new piercing and so is my best friend! We absolutely love them but the atmosphere at deep roots made it 10x better for sure! All the employees were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality and style of jewelry. Stop wasting your money on cheap, plated unsanitary jewelry that will most likely cause a reaction or an infection. Will be visiting deep roots often! ☺️

This was by far the best piercing and customer service experience Ive had at any shop. I was greeted immediately by Hex, every question I had was answered. I was given suggestions that actually related to my questions. As for my actual piercing experience it was awesome. Kristina did my piercing, she was very confident, kind, and quick. She did a great job with placement. Ive had no issues with this piercing (burning or discomfort) Absolutely will recommend and be back!

I came in not know what kind of jewelry I wanted for my nostril piercing and the staff was happy to point out styles they thought I would like based on my vauge, one word descriptions. I got my piercing done by John at the U-district location and found him to be delightful. Im definitely coming back here to be any new piercings done!Update: Ive now gotten a tattoo done by Ria Kim and received my seconds, thirds, and a conch piercing. My nostril healed very well and Im very happy with everything else Ive gotten done here!

Took my daughter her to get her ears pierced and we had a great experience. John was amazing - very warm and professional at the same time. He inspired the confidence my daughter needed in the moment, and did an absolutely fantastic job with the piercings. The staff were really nice and knowledgeable. I got my second and third piercing(s) here. I’m dropping a star because I knew from the get go that my piercings weren’t in a straight line. I had asked if my second piercing was too high but the piercer convinced me otherwise. I’m disappointed it took my earring to accidentally fall out a year and a half later to see what I knew and now I can’t change anything. The earrings are gorgeous here and overall, it was a great experience.

Came in on Saturday, December 12th. Had an amazing experience from the moment I walked through the door, to the second I left. The staff was so helpful and full of kindness and enthusiasm. Just the kind, of energy youd want when walking in to permanently alter your body, pure support and excitement along side of helpful information upon the piercing youre wanting! I was pierced by John, he pierced both of my brows and was an extremely amazing person to have spent time with, and to have had stick a needle through my face. He was extremely thorough in communication, measurements, and all around created a fun supportive environment inside the actual piercing room. Shy, an amazing human being who was so patient and thoroughly excited to go through all of the beautiful jewelry Deep Roots has to offer. I thoroughly appreciated the time spent showing me all of the beautiful pieces. Especially as someone who is incredibly indecisive. It was comforting to not feel rushed whatsoever. All in all when I walked into Deep Roots I felt like the focus was entirely on me while I was in the shop. I really appreciated the attentiveness and enthusiasm from everyone that was there thank you so much for your providing such beautiful piercings on my face and such a wonderful experience. If I ever decide to get pierced again I will definitely be coming back.

This place is legit!! I just got my conch done earlier today. Staff was super friendly and patient with me. My piercer was John Figone he made me feel comfortable and the piercing was done very professionally. Looks beautiful and I am so excited to go back once its healed! 🖤

John was my piercer! needed a deposit while scheduling online as most piercing shops are during currently bc no walk-ins at least in Seattle! I have 10 piercings now and have always been apprehensive about piercing my nose. I don’t recall the girls name who helped me choose my jewelry, but she had bangs and I think to different colours in her hair, super pretty girl! I told her what I was looking for and at some point wanted a hoop. Then I went back with John, and he definitely hyped me up with my new look. People complain about the price; what I don’t think most know is the price is usually within the jewelry. I got a small, gold, flat, brushed stud and it was $140 whereas the piercing itself is $35. So it depends what you’re into, the size, or if you’re on a budget. This is how legitimate piercing stores run; a small white gold stud (ball) was $90 I believe. Anyway, little did I think my nose piercing would elevate my look, and I love it! John was just awesome overall. Before you complain saying “you didn’t know”, you need to have a vax card too, and wear a mask until called back just FYI. The entire store is honestly amazing.

Staff are extremely professional, educated, covid conscious, and intersectionally informed. Want to highlight that with their somewhat small space and popularity they work very hard to keep it clean and safe for everyone doing business here.The selection is modest and beautifully curated with lots of attention to detail. They only have fine jewelry aside from basic studs, so definitely expect to -invest- in your piercing here.Worth every penny, dont forget to tip!!Will happily do business with them again.

I’ve tried several other local studios but been going here for quite some time! This is by far the best piercing studio in Seattle. They have a massive jewelry selection, with prices ranging anywhere from $-$$$. I’ve gotten a bunch of piercings from John and he has always crushed it. He actively listens to your wants/concerns and will help curate the perfect piecing based on you own anatomy. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!!

Clean and friendly ! I needed some help with jewelry removal and installation. both staff members I spoke with were professional, helpful, and I got in and out in a timely fashion without feeling rushed. I will definitely go back here for my next piercing.

He was so respectful and made me feel like we were in it together! i’ve had experiences with other piercing places in washington with people who were very demeaning and acted upset with nervous people but john totally calmed me down and made me feel listened to. they use a very consent based piercing practice from personal experience where i was walked through the whole process and was told what was gonna happen before it did! i’ve never had a problem with healing and just followed the instructions they gave me but i 100% believe that if i did have an issue that they would be there for me! i will be going back to john as my go to piercer for everything even though i live in tacoma; it’s totally worth the trip!

Everyone was incredibly warm and friendly! I was taken care of quickly and given concise instructions on aftercare. Each of the rooms had a comforting smell of isopropyl alcohol to them so you could tell everything was absolutely sanitary. When one of my piercings ended up being a bit too large, they saw me and swapped out the bar for a shorter one in no time flat.

I have gotten one piercing here. They are extremely sanitary, which makes me happy, because in the past I chose price over care and quality. My piercing (septum) didnt hurt, and healed very quickly. They made sure I was very informed about what I was doing, and how to care for it. I have come back several times to buy different rings for my septum and they always show me all the different options for what Im looking for, and are always very sanitary, always wearing gloves when they touch the jewelry, etc. I will go nowhere else for now on to do any body mods and to buy my septum rings.

Ive gotten 6 piercings here and all my experiences have been wonderful! i used to live in udistrict and this was my go to place for impulsive piercing decisions lol. vik recently did my septum & nose and john did my double eyebrow and they were both so sweet & amazing, i felt safe & comfortable throughout the process. the jewelry is expensive but theres a lot of options and many of them are so cute. youre definitely paying for the quality. i looove all my piercings from deep roots :”)

Been coming here since I was 12. The piercers here have better bedside manner than a lot of doctors! They are so informative and kind before, during, and after the piercing process. Personally, they always reduce my anxiety even when Im super nervous about the piercing. Theyre never pushy with selling me the most expensive item, they always seem to just want to make sure Im absolutely comfortable with everything. I really cant reccomend this place to enough people! If youre looking for any kind of piercing, THIS is the place to go. Not only are the employees wonderful, but the prices are very reasonable considering how high quality their work is. I came in to get my ears pierced for the first time today, and there is one word I would use to describe the way I was treated: RESPECTED. from the moment I entered I was met with smiles, kindness, and respect. I had an appointment with Chadwick Allendorf, and his bedside manner was better than any I have had from medical staff in 2 years. He took his time, was methodical ,talked to me the entire time, and was professional beyond belief. I was kinda thinking I might get more piercings in the future, and his manners made me decide I will be back within the next 6 months for sure. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I went in because Id bought a piece of jewelry for my belly button piercing and it came unscrewed while I was at work. I was pretty worried because I had put the jewelry in myself and wasnt sure if it was something to do with the application or the threading on the piece itself. It was definitely worth the trip. Everyone was super helpful and they replaced the top part of the jewelry free of charge. They also had one of their piercing specialists apply it for me this time so that it could be screwed on as tightly as possible. Great experience!

I’ve been trying to exchange an earring that broke quickly after I got it since May. Literally. Mailed it back as they told me, was told (eventually) that they received it after checking in a few times. Was told it was mailed back to me over a month ago now. Have been in contact with Kalin who has now stopped responding to me even though I never received my earring back. All of our interactions over email were very civil so I’m not sure why I have received no response for the past 3 weeks after multiple emails.Unfortunately over half of the rest of my earrings I got there all fell out within 3 months even when I was assured the earrings were snugly fit and would not easily come out. One fell out so quickly after a new piercing that the hole closed up before I even noticed, so out of luck there too. Overall I paid over 2k for two beautiful ears full of jewelry that I got to enjoy for about a month.These were supposed to be forever pieces and now when I look at my leftover earrings in the mirror all I feel is stupid for spending that much money and disappointed hugely in the customer service.

Got a tattoo at deep roots two days ago while in Seattle for a few days. Great shop, clean and chill atmosphere. Paul was great, u can tell that he has a lot of experience. He worked with me to get the design just right, the way I wanted it. Very talented artist.Awesome experience and would def recommend. Will go again next time Im in Seattle.

I went here with my daughter for us to get our ears pierced for her sixth birthday. She wanted lobe piercings and I was going to get a helix piercing to show her it would be okay.They were very considerate of my daughters autonomy concerning her body. The piercer John clearly communicated to her that this was her choice and that she could back out if she got nervous.I got my helix, but she decided that she just wasnt ready. They were very understanding. They said they would be there for her if she changed her mind in the future. We hope to go back again one day.

This is a review for the artist Cory Smoku @cenotaphtat2Not a reflection of this shop as a whole, but just a word of advice for others looking for an artist.I was tattooed by Cory a few months back in Portland; the tattoo was poorly done with blowouts/bad ink application. But to make matters worse the artist completely changed the font AFTER the stencil was applied and added details (shadowing/dots) that was not communicated with me during the session.It’s a shame because the artist’s Instagram portfolio looks great, but that was not my experience.After a whole ordeal I was very clear and honest with Cory that I did not like the work that was done and that I was already lookin into my options of getting the tattoo removed because I was not comfortable with letting him rework or fix it. He ignored me until it reached a level that he couldn’t ignore the social media attention he was getting when I put my experience out there.Ultimately told me he would refund me the 300$ cost of my tattoo.To this day, I have not been given my money back and he continues to ignore me. Yikes. For now I’m stuck with a tattoo that makes me depressed to even look at.And Cory, if you see this, I’m still open to letting you make it right. And I’ll remove this review.

The customer service here is always good. Been here twice in the last few months. Once to change the jewelry in my nose piercing (The old jewelry from somewhere else was painful and irritating the skin which has completely healed and much happier since visiting here.) and this time to shop for new jewelry for my ears. Beautiful selection, little pricey but its worth it for the quality, hygiene and professional services.

Got my tragus piercing here, and the staff were so friendly and answered all my questions. The piercing was really quick and painless, and after 2 days, I can’t even feel it. Maybe it’s how they thoroughly sterilized the jewelry or something but it’s healing so well. Will come here for all future piercings! Their selection is also great.

I went in to get new jewelry for my tragus piercings, and everyone that was there working were so nice, helpful, and overall just pleasant to interact with. I found some beautiful pieces, and John helped swap out my jewelry. 10/10 would recommend!

Deep Roots is a beautiful, safe, and positive environment. Since I came to make a permanent change to my body, I appreciated how skilled my piercing artist Vikki was and how patient, informative, and low pressure the entire staff was. Im so pleased!

My wife and I took our 9 y/o daughter to get her ears pierced at Deep Roots U District location. We were a bit hesitant given the pandemic. We had no need to be. The studio is only allowing people inside who have appointments, are wearing masks (the proper way) and have completed an online attestation. Upon entering, someone took our temperatures and asked us to use hand sanitizer. From that point until we left the studio, only a small number of people were inside, all wearing masks and all conscious of physical distancing.Take the fear and awkwardness of COVID out of the experience and we were equally impressed. Ryan was our piercer. He talked directly to my daughter, explained the piercing thoroughly in terms she would understand, and answered her questions. He also took the time to explain the importance of breathing to deal with the shock and sting from the needle. A couple of minutes later she was looking in a mirror and listening to after-care instructions.All in all, a highly professional experience with a great outcome—my daughter is delighted.

I went in to get spider bites done. Everything was fine and dandy, the people were friendly everything was great. The jewelry the counter lady recommended was VERY expensive. $100 for the two studs that fit into the post. I went home, there was swelling obviously. I went back a few days later because it felt like the jewelry was cutting into my lip on the back, and the front was sinking in a little bit. I went it, they said it was fine and that the jewelry was already long and that I didnt need to change it. Finally at almost the two week mark I decided to go to a different shop to get a second opinion. I was told the initial jewelry they used was very cheep, not medical grade. He was also VERY surprised that they used jewelry so short. He noted that the back was digging into the inside of my lip. He was a little outraged. FOR FREE he gave me new jewelry and told me to come back in if it wasnt right. he said the jewelry he used was a little shorter than he wanted but was willing to continue working with me until the problem was fixed.I am going to try to get my money back for the jewelry but Im not sure they will let me.

This is where we took our six year old to get her first ear piercings. I highly recommend and overqualified sterile environment like what Deep Roots provided. It’s well worth the price for the peace of mind. High quality hollow needles handled by skilled hands that perform sometimes complicated procedures every day when your children’s skin is in question makes total sense.Our older daughter was pierced by Allan Dabbs back when he was still working in Santa Monica. That experience changed the way I think about pricing guns in malls forever. Find a shop that’s will book your kids. That’s the kind of shop everyone should be happy to frequent. 🙏✨

I got a nose piercing about two years ago from deep roots, and i went back about two months ago to get my lobes pierced. They do a sufficient job. The price however, is not worth it. My nose piercing with a basic neometal stud was $80, and my lobes with the same basic studs were well over $100. It was only $40 at a different salon to repierce one of my lobes and get new jewelry for all my piercings. theyll charge an arm and a leg for simple jobs

They have a wonderful staff that are very nice and respectful. I have gotten a couple of piercings there and I went back today to get my nose ring changed out and they did it for free! I didnt even get my nose pierced there! They are incredibly clean and so nice! I absolutely would recommend to anyone.

Came here to get my double forward helix pierced. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable but the piercing turned out so strange... they were way too close to the edge of my ear, super close together, and both pushed against my rook. Within a couple weeks you could see the bar of the stud through my skin. Getting them removed hurt far more than getting the piercing itself. The piercer who removed them (at a different studio) said it was probably just an off day for the piercer, and deep roots is generally a great place, but my ear has been in pain for three weeks since I’ve gotten them removed and every other piercing I’ve had (12 in total) has healed beautifully, so I don’t know if this is a place I’d return to.

I came in with my 11 year old daughter as we were both going to get our ears pierced. We were welcomed in, with very friendly staff. John pierced both our ears, was knowledgeable, super friendly and even suggested a solution for how to fix a crooked piercing done previously. Would absolutely recommend getting pierced here!!

The lady was so rude and rushed the whole process, did not even walk me through what she was doing and basically manhandled my ear. She was also very passive aggressive when I had questions. Not great. Not worth it for the price you can get a cheaper piercing at a place w nicer artists.

I got 4 ear piercings from John and he was super cool, super nice, went over all the aftercare with me a couple times. Lots of safety procedures in place for that covid thing, very clean environment. I drove down from arlington only because my friend works there but honestly Id go back regardless.

I had my first piercing here, and I had a very positive experience. It is more expensive that other piercing shops, but I felt it was worth it for the expertise of the piercers and safety. The jewelry here is also on the expensive side, but you can bring in your own pieces to have pierced.

Called three different times and spoke to Hannah, Christine, and Mia- who ALL told us there would be time for us to have our nose pierced. Drove and hour out of our way just to walk in and have them rudely turn us away. Don’t waste your time here.

My wife and I got flash tattoos there for Friday the 13th. Jacie did an amazing job! Our tattoos turned out just beautiful and she was really fun to work with. Everyone there was super friendly and did a wonderful job of making the experience safe for these weird quarantine times.

So I took my 12yo to get her first piercing. Cost 50$ for the piercing. And for the cheapest earrings was 75$ small round stud. The first one was a star,small, 255$ on top of the 50$ piercing..so 145$ for their cheapest, basic, ear lobe piercing. Their selection sucks and is overpriced. Nice people but regret it. Go anywhere else for a basic piercing. Im sure they would be worth it if it was a different piercing.

I got my cartilage/helix pierced here recently and Dae did such a great job! I was nervous but Dae was awesome at putting me at ease. REGARDING THEIR ONLINE SHOP:They sent my (expensive!!) piece of jewelry to the WRONG ADDRESS. I entered my address correctly—the receipt was correct. They said they contacted my local post office and successfully intercepted the package; the post office had no communication with them. I had to intercept it myself last minute. I couldve easily lost $150+ due to their irresponsibility. All they had for me was a sorry. Ridiculously unprofessional.

Super friendly and helpful. They take walk-ins, and I didnt have to wait for very long to get my septum pierced. Some of the jewelery is expensive, but it reflects the quality of the item.

Went here for a 2nd earlobe piercing with 2 of my friends. Although their jewelry is expensive (you pay for the backing as well), I knew that it was safe and I learned a lot from the piercer himself. Only few spots in Seattle are deemed safe and are properly trained. This is one of those spots.

Just came with my friend at like 2pm today to get her nose piercing repaired. It was a 24k piece she bought and got placed at Deep Roots recently, and just needed a little bend back into the right shape.They said they would call us in an hour, so we came back 90 minutes late cuz, no call.When we walked back in they realized they forgot, but instead of taking 5 minutes to fix the nose ring, they said we had to wait for 2 more piercings that had just came in even tho we were out of time and had to leave 😪Anyway Im not a salty person but it seems like this place is more and more overpriced and impersonal lately, and today just proved it to me.Check out new shops with up and coming tattoo artists and piercers around seattle!

They sold us a piece of jewelry for a nose piercing, they represented it as a 2 mm Diamond. It is not, we paid $195.00 plus tax. I am demanding a refund and return of the piece. They were very nice and helpful when my wife had fit problems, adjusted it no problem. My complaint is that the piece was sold as a diamond when it is not.

Helpful, fun staff and an overall lovely place to visit. I have to stop in every time I go over to the University District to pick up new jewelry (its just too hard to resist!). I would personally never go anywhere else in this area for my piercing needs.

This place is very clean, the staff is attentive and helpful, and their artists are knowledgeable about their products and techniques. It lacks the character of smaller shops and prices are on the higher end, but thats a trade-off for having a larger chain of stores. I trust them to do good work and offer good advice on jewelry.

I got my eyebrows microbladed by Dani there and so far Im happy with service and results.The tattoo place itself seems very clean and neat as well as their bathroom, and they have a black toilet :P (I know its weird to mention this on a review but I have never seen a black toilet before)

Horrible customer service. Between my husband and I we have had 3 tattoos, a piercing, and purchased jewelry but on my last visit I was told the wrong price for jewelry and after waiting a long time to check out I decided to buy it anyways. After leaving to head back to Tacoma I’m called and told I was sold the wrong back so I have to come back in if I want to be able to wear the jewelry but that I would be compensated. I make the 30 drive back a few days later and I’m told my compensation was them switching the jewelry I already paid for. Ridiculous to not do anything to make up for a huge inconvenience. The manager Phoelix has the nerve to tell me that they had corrected the mistake and was happy I got the right piece but I’m not happy to drive back from Tacoma and pay to park because they screwed up and don’t care enough to take care of a customer. Had my new tattoo done at Artful Dodger much friendlier staff and they did an amazing job on my Miyazaki tattoo.

Got my helix done here with my little sister as a Birthday bonding experience! Staff was super knowledgeable and helpful amd friendly even though we got in kind of late. Everything was very clean and neat and they were very informative about our options and the whole experience was just great.

This is an experience from MANY years ago. I hope that things have changed. They must have!I decided to get tattoos on my fingers. Cute tiny black heart on each middle finger...The cuteness lasted about a week.Now I get questions like did you hit your finger with a hammer?, or yikes! That looks painful!.They look like gross bruises on a good day, poorly executed prison tats on a bad day.They started out tiny.... but now I have a giant knuckle covering blurry blotch on each hand. Super great.And I should have known.... the guy who did the tats was mean to the point of abusive. But I had already given my credit card info.I wish that I could afford to have them removed. Does anyone know if sandpaper and a topical numbing agent might work? Id prefer a scar.

Came in yesterday to get a lip piercing removed and the gal that took it out lost my ball. Things happen but, I was not offerd a replacement or anything.

I loved the experience. Everyone at Deep Roots was very nice and helpful. Aaron completed my tattoo and it looks amazing, he puts a lot of care into his work. I will go back the next time I want another tattoo.

Love this place. Everyone is so kind. I bought lip rings in 2013 and needed them taken in and out for dental work. Its 2019 and they still helped! This place is also nice and clean! I would suggest this for sure!

Good shop but they have one artist Been who overbooks, forgets your appointment, draws you sketches and amiks them to you and on the day you show up for your tattoo he has no idea who you are, he lost the sketches and argues with you as to if he actually made any at all. * Camera phone out* These sketches... Oh I dont remember that, look like got a Seahawk coming out j will you wait? This is at 3. We walked out at 5 and called his manager around 6:30 and he was STILL working on Seahawk. Great art on the walls and Im sure if you can complete the initiation ceremony of artists watching you like a zoo exhibit being alternately annoyed that youre in the waiting room and havent just got up and left ND at Ben for overbooking and making them have to babysit us. I would rather be sandpapered all over my naked body than give this shop a chance to disrespect me again. Shop manager sent a glowing apology email but so did the Nuremberg defendants so you can imagine how little an apology on paper means to me. Fire Ben and some of us might come back to your shop. What an unprofessional little git. Go back to doodling and stop wasting grown adults time like it doesnt mean anything. 👎

Didnt know exactly what I wanted when I came in but theabeth helped me to find everything I didnt even know I wanted yet and was super friendly and just bomb in general.

Very overpriced to the point of being gouged. I went in looking for hardware only, they made me sit for an install and charged me 50$. All I wanted was the jewelry, I didnt need the install. I will never go back, and I highly suggest any prospective buyers to do online research.

I had two of my tattoos done by debate_one he is an amazing artist .. I trusted him to do both of my tattoos and designed them for me .. he did such a good job I get a lot of compliments on them .. he is truly one of a kind artist tattoo artists like him are hard to find

This place is completely overrated. If there was somewhere closer to Tacoma that sold quality jewelry I wouldnt come here at all. The counter staff dont communicate at all. I drove 45 to get here and have been skipped twice while waiting to buy new jewelry and have it put in. I guess since Im not paying as much I dont matter.
