Walk-in Wednesday was awesome! We were done in less than 2 hours. Everyone is phenomenal, and the store is full of positive energy. Thank you Dave and Julianna!!!

I called to make an appointment. The young lady who answered the phone said she was just covering the phones and wasnt exactly sure what the availability was, but sent a link to my cell phone to see availability online and book the appointment. Super helpful!The appointment was made for my 13-year-old, who was getting the first set of 10 gauge earlobe piercings. Happy birthday! The young lady working reception was very nice super helpful with getting the paperwork started.Kenny was our piercest. My kid was super nervous and he did a great job of making her feel comfortable. He was super personable, friendly, knowledgeable and funny.They were really busy, but did a great job of getting people through without feeling rushed.The atmosphere is great. They have all kinds of memorabilia from the 90s, like the Simpsons, Ninja turtles and family Guy.I would definitely recommend taking a trip to area 51 for at least your piercing needs.

My spouse got me a surprise tattoo for the flash sale on Valentines day as a tribute to my mom that passed away a little over a year ago and I couldnt be more pleased with the results! Dave was my tattoo artist and he was very friendly and easy to talk to. All around amazing vibes at that shop.

I have been tattooed here twice, first by Jason and then by Chris A and i will undoubtedly be returning in the future. everyone is so chill it feels like its just a whole bunch of buddies hanging out.

Jared at Area 51 Piercing is the very best in many ways. I will always take my friends and family to him for piercing. He is great with younger kids as he explains everything to them. He is a great educator giving clear explanation for any idea. His selection of jewelry is mind blowing.

Sam has done ALL of both my daughters piercings. Shes caring, gentle and explains everything shes doing. Weve followed her wherever she goes. Definitely recommend!!

Great experience from start to finish! From the woman at the front to the piercer. They made the whole experience really easy and pleasant. The shop is extremely clean, following covid guidelines, the interior design is so fun and everyone was friendly and professional. All our questions were answered and they were very knowledgeable. Started planning for a tattoo in early September and was able to get a consult and the actual appointment within two months. Kyler was very easy to work with and understood my nervousness as a first timer. He explained the steps, gave me a fair, clear price for the job, and I was never left questioning anything. The design was spectacular, the space was clean and organized, the artist was friendly and engaging, asking my opinion along the way. The aftercare I was suggested worked perfectly and not even two weeks later, the skin is healed and vibrant. Well worth the money, and I intend to return many more times.

I absolutely loved the vibe at Area 51 from the moment I stepped in the door. Everyone was so friendly and professional! I had Peck for my industrial and helix piercings. He was super chill, went over everything step by step and made the entire experience simple and easy. Im 100% going back when its time for more piercing and/or tattoo therapy!

I love my New Piercings. I have been going to Jared for all my piercing needs, and the Jewelry collection is to die for.Beautiful results. June 2020I was having some problems with my ear cartilage i was able to book a free trouble shoot appointment the next day and got some great advice. treatment suggestions and had all my questions answered. Absolutely amazing experience. I got my first real piercing, a nose septum piercing, and the experience was great. Everyone was super nice, place was clean, great attractions and more. They were able to squeeze me in last minute (due to my impulsiveness) which I am very thankful for. Jared talked me through the whole process and made me feel very comfortable. Would absolutely come again for any future piercings. Definitely recommend.

Had a great experience getting my forehead/ hairline tattoo done by Jason Moore. Hes a great artist and has a vary light touch. I couldnt even feel the tattoo getting done. Also had a great time reminiscing about old punk bands and songs with him. Definitely think I found the artist I want to stick with. Already working on a back piece idea!!!

Are 51 has such a cool vibe to it, front is absolutely filled with retro stuff including vintage figures which are for sale. I go to Chris Akins, not only is his work phenomenal but hes super chill and easy to talk with. Definitely a killer spot worth going to just for the atmosphere

I went in today and had such a great experience. Right as I walked in I felt welcomed and comfortable even though I was very nervous. The lady at the front desk was super friendly I didnt get her name but she was very nice. Kenneth was the one that did my three piercings, both sides of nose and tragus. He made me feel very welcomed and answered all my questions. He was so nice and his energy was great. He did so great. I will be recommending to everyone I can and definitely will be back. Thanks so much for an overall great experience.

I have been to this Area 51 twice now. Once to get my belly button pierced and my ear cuff changed. Every time I go there the staff is so sweet and very helpful. They made me feel very comfortable and were skilled. My belly button piercing was a breeze. There jewelry selection is great and high quality. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

When I tell you that our experience was incredible today, I mean it was literally the best customer service I have ever encountered. My daughter struggles with severe anxiety and Jared found a way to calm and empower her through her experience. He was kind, patient, respectful, patient, honest and did I mention, patient. He helped with more than her piercings and, as her mom, I am forever grateful for his understanding and calm.The rest of the staff were amazing as well. From phone inquiries to jewelry selection, facility cleanliness to COVID management, we could not have had a better experience.

I had a great experience here. I booked an appointment online about a week in advance and was seen quickly after I came in. I got 3 piercings from Megan (2 high nostril and one regular nostril) and would highly recommend you go to them. The placements were placed perfectly on the first try, and I was told how each step would work before it happened and it was super quick and pretty much painless. Megan has a very sweet and calming energy and made me feel super comfortable and taken care of during the whole thing. I felt a bit faint when I stood up at the end, and was offered a snack and drink and as much time as I needed to lay down and feel better. I didnt feel rushed at all. Also they have a great selection of jewelry and you can even start with fun pieces, not just the standard basic plain jewelry. I dont usually leave reviews, but I was really nervous going in and felt such relief and satisfaction coming out. I would give Megan 6 stars if I could.

Just went in to the new downtown Eugene location and Trevor was our piercer. He did earrings for both of my Young daughters, and a second hole and tragus piercing on me. He was professional, patient, explained everything so well and was really good with my children. The facility itself was super clean and they had a very nice jewelry selection.Highly recommend.

I love Meg, she’s always done amazing work for me; however I’d like to add that the lady that helped her with my friends tongue is also absolutely amazing. After my friend had falsely been told that she can’t have a piercing done, it was looked at twice (Meg and her boss{?}) found it fine, and it was! She loves her piercing! I’m so happy I didn’t lose my septum and it was quick and easy to put back. I’ll definitely be making the drive for them!

This review is for the Eugene location. I cannot say enough good things about the ambiance of the studio and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff! Meg pierced my 7-year-old daughter’s ears and worked oh so patiently with my 4-year-old daughter to pierce her ears as well…there were lots of nerves and hesitation…it took 3 separate visits in one day for my younger daughter to build the courage to pierce both ears! Meg was beyond incredible and respectful of my daughter’s big feelings. After her second ear was pierced, my daughter was over the moon ecstatic with her earrings and proud of herself. Two weeks later, my 4-year-old still says that Meg “is the best ear piercer” and “loves” them

Meg did an AMAZING job. This isnt my first visit here, but me and my boyfriend got pierced sunday, I got my labret and he got his nostril and they were super great about explaining after care and what they were doing during the piercing so neither of us were worried in the slightest. We were almost late and the person working the counter was very understanding and sweet about it,, they even accommodated my young daughter being with us.Thank you for the great experience! Every employee I have interacted with is extremely pleasant and helps you feel welcome. Prices are great as well! I got my daith piercing done by Sam Houston and I love it! They were so professional and everything was clean and sanitized. They answered all of the questions I had and made me feel extremely comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back for more piercings in the future!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Ive gotten two piercings here, belly button and helix, one by Jared and one by Kenny. I travelled 3 hours to get pierced by Jared and I found the entire experience amazing. I had my questions answered before I made the trip. ( The piercing I got not anyone can do ;) ) The whole process was smooth and professional. Jared made my experience relaxing, and helped me get through it. I even had questions a few days later and they were more then willing to answer them again. I highly recommend them!

I’m afraid of needles and this place is the place to go. Specifically for Jared. All the ladies and gentlemen are great but he’s the best of the best. I usually freak out and tend to be difficult with needles. But he was so professional and knew what he was doing. Very knowledgeable. He did my tongue piercing. When I say two seconds. It literally took two seconds. I will becoming back.

I got my first tattoo from Jason here at area 51 and I couldnt be happier with it. He showed me that the only limitation he has as an artist is my own imagination. I am blown away by the final result and I will be coming back in the future 100%. Thank you again for working with me.

I went in to Area 51 after recommending it to others off of hearsay and knowing one of the tattoo artists relatives- and I figured, after all this time, I needed first hand experience (and wanted my septum pierced)! I went into it fairly nervous, even though Ive been in with friends to be moral support for their various piercings my whole life- however, instantly I was reassured to a level I had not seen others receive at other shops Id witnessed. Not only were they fast without lacking thoroughness, but they were all very charismatic and personable. As someone who is outgoing, that already tells me a lot, so I was more excited than nervous! After brief paperwork and picking my jewelry, it was time. You will NOT run out of nostalgic art or interesting decorations to look at- I felt right at home, having grown up around most of what was hanging on those walls.When it came time, the piercing artist Holly (who was filling in for my original piercer Jared, who also came highly recommended) invited me back and talked me through the process, asked if I had any nervousness or undue stress over it, and such. Plus, once again, very personable and easy going, and definitely relieved some of my anxiety. Again!Once it came time to get pierced, she was very calm and collected as she explained what she was doing, and checked in many times to make sure everything was good on my end. Safe to say, sitting there with a needle through my septum probably would never have felt more peaceful. Maybe its context, but I am crediting all the amazing service and the atmosphere. Once it was pulled through, my nose wouldnt cooperate with the jewelry (because I did not take into account how small of a diameter I got- oops. Thats on me) but there was very little pain, if nothing else, just pressure. I did not have a good frame of reference for my pain tolerance, and I mentioned it, and Holly was amazing at checking in. I had no issues, and it was relatively painless, a little pressure aside. Holly did an amazing job, as there was barely any pain- and she was very concise, and gentle! I feel like I lucked out in my choice of shop, and that I still had someone who made an absolute greenhorn to being pierced feel like it was a routine doctors visit. Only judgement-free, much cheaper, and way friendlier!Overall, I came in having an expectation of easy-going yet highly professional and skilled tattoo artists and piercing artists- and not only was that expectation met, exceeded, and shattered- but I now think I am definitely going to come back time and time again, because I did not even know whether I wanted a piercing for certain. As someone indecisive, I figured if I did not like it I could remove it and it would heal. But after my experience at Area 51, not only am I going to come back for more piercings... But I am definitely going to get my first non-stick n poke done here! Not only do I feel more confident from the piercing, but the whole experience made me so much more at ease about the process. From one artist (of a different niche) to everyone at Area 51, thank you for the exceptional service and amazing piercing. I do not know if I could be more happy about it all, but one thing is for sure- I will be back, and now that I am more familiar, I dont think I will ever stop recommending your shop. Keep in mind, I never thought I would get a nose piercing- let alone a septum for my first- or a piercing at all! Before I went in Id never gotten a piercing, so I had no expectations. The immediate atmosphere was friendly and interacting with the staff was easy. They explained the types of piercings I could get and narrowed it down to the price range I was dealing with.Piercing both ears and the septum seemed daunting, but the guy helping me was very professional and did his best to make me feel comfortable while he stabbed me. He was quick, efficient, and gave me a juice box afterwards.10/10 service, Im definitely coming back!

Always awesome and helpful. Went in to troubleshoot my nostril piercing from a little over a month ago. Everyone here is always extremely knowledgeable and friendly. My partner ended up getting his ears stretched too and they were more than happy to get him in last minute.

Jared is absolutely AMAZING. I have adhd and tend to get very very anxious but Jared really helped me feel calm and always makes the whole experience amazing. First time getting a piercing at Area 51. Let me tell you the shop is dope and you can nerd out on so much. Also the environment was super welcoming and chill. My piercer was awesome, goofy, and made me feel super comfortable during my appointment. I definitely would recommend them if you’re looking to get something pierced!

As soon as you walk in you feel welcome and comfortable. They have a great jewelry selection as well. Piercer was very clean and quick. I had my septum done and it only hurt for a second. Healed super fast as well! Definitely will get more piercings here.

Ive gone to Jared multiple times for piercings and hes absolutely fantastic. Fast and professional service, yet also feels like hes a close friend every time Im in the shop. Great with people who are nervous too. Personally, needles terrify me (yet I love tattoos and piercings, ironic huh?) He knows how to keep me calm. and Anyways, hes great at what he does whether youve never gotten a piercing and are terrified about it, or if you have 20-something piercings already, hes great. Wouldnt recommend anyone else as much as Jared.

Jared is awesome! He’s an extremely experienced piercer and now my go to guy. I was so nervous because I’d never been pierced with anything except a piercing gun. He did my conch so fast and pretty pain free. It was perfectly placed and everything was so clean. He also has a great selection of jewelry and amazing prices.

I had such an amazing experience getting my nipples pierced. Kenny was very professional and didn’t make me feel awkward for a sensitive piercing location. Very clean, quick and not too painful. They look and feel great. Was a bit spicy but healing well so far!

My 6 year old decided she wanted her ears pierced. We went in on a Sunday and she picked out earrings. I asked if she could see the piercing rooms so shed be less nervous when her appointment came, Holly gladly showed her all around and quickly made friends with my daughter. The day of her appointment came and when it came down to it , she wasnt ready. I try to teach her she can say no at anytime when it comes to her body and thats what she did right before she got pierced. Holly backed that up and stayed positive even though she spent so much time with us. I really appreciated the whole experience even though we left without ear piercings. They lady at the front desk, I believe her name is Bird, she is absolutely amazing too .

Amazing!! I got my ears pierced here this morning by Jared. Super friendly and nice! I would write a lot more but Im too tired too.He did a wonderful job and made me feel really comfortable. We took our 5 year old to have her ears pierced today and the whole experience was wonderful. As always everyone was sweet and professional. They put on Minions for our 2 year old while we waited, which was awesome. Plus hot cookies from Katie. The cleanliness and professionalism is a 10 out of 10! Multiple gloves changes between touching different items and everything was sterilized in front of us. I feel very safe in saying if you or your children want a piercing this is the way to go! I had my nostril pierced by Jared about two and a half months ago. I was able to use Groupon for the piercing, which was very easy to redeem with them. The employees I interacted with were personable and very helpful with my questions. Jared was a pleasured to be pierced by. Aside from being relieved that he enforced mask protocol, Jared helped me feel extremely comfortable from the moment we met to our farewell. During the actual piercing, he worked with professional quickness. I would love to go back, and recommend the shop to my friends and family!

I got a few piercings from Kenny. Experience was great. Strong desk was wonderful and so helpful in getting me narrowed down to what I wanted. Kenny kept me at ease, and made the whole process painless(mostly). Will definitely be going again for my next ones!

Honestly. I would completely give a higher review of it was just for the piercer. She was wonderful.The shop on the other hand. When we walked in they were quick to take us on as walk ons with our one person who had an appointment. But told us we, as the walk ins, would be put last after the appointments. We were completely okay with it, until, two more walk ins came in and instently took priority over EVERYONE ELSE. including their appointments. The owner was more worried about looking like a big shot and taking care of his friends (including making it known that he was giving them MASSIVE discounts in front of all the other customers) then he was about anyone else. Because of this, the person we came with who had an appointment didnt get seen until an hour after their appointment time.On top of that, they only tell you the amount for the jewelry and keep any and all fees tell the end, where it goes from $40 to $70. They only sell silver and gold jewelry, as someone who prefers steel was frustrating.No. I wont be back.

Jared and his team are always professional and I have never had a bad experience with them. Good quality jewelry and if you get nervous when getting pierced, Jared is an absolute sweetheart to make you feel comfortable. Plus you leave with beautiful additions!

Omgoodness! We drive 2 hours anytime one of our family wants a new piercing and have converted some friends to Area 51 as well. The staff is knowledgeable and engaging. Kenny is the only piercist we use. Really, its not against anyone else, but because we started off with him and have seen no reason to switch. He has a calm, skillful, inclusive manner and he makes the process comfortable, easy and as painless as it can be. The shop itself is a trip! Its filled with 90s figurines, arcade games, posters and paintings. Its colorful and fun. There is a good selection of high quality jewelry and the art on everything from stickers and cards to shirts and hoodies is beautiful. $30 and you can get as many piercings as you can handle, plus the price of jewelry. We havent found anyone or any place as talented, unique or welcoming anywhere near us. It is well worth the drive!

My assisted my daughter in driving to this tattoo shop in Springfield Oregon, broadly decorated in the Simpsons animation, and according to my daughter, the home of a renowned tattoo artist and his staff. This four-star genius creative talent has been a first pick/only pick for having artwork permanently place on my daughters body, and all of it is so colorful and detailed.When she finished up we picked her up for the ride back to Portland and she was over the moon elated with all of the finished tattoos. They were amazingly beautiful in their own way but the colors and the detail was really amazing. And the amount of artwork versus the amount of time she sat in the chair is also unbelievable. Mr Chris, thank you for putting a huge smile on my daughters face and a truckload of confidence within her spirit. It was a fantastic day for all filled with positivity, conversation, and the camaraderie after the fact was immeasurable.

Everyone here is so nice and helpful. They have an accessible ramp and I can fit my manual wheelchair in the bathroom (I havent tried with the electric). Both piercers seem to go out of their way to make people feel calm and as ease. And the walls are freaking magical! Everything cool, ever, right there!

My first time at Area 51 for a tattoo but not my first tattoo. The place had an amazing atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The studio was clean and organized. Jason Moore did an excellent job on my tattoo. He took my idea and made it a reality. His design and artwork were spot on. I couldn’t be happier with the end result. I love this business!! I refer them every chance I get. All staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, always professional. They get new jewelry in on the regular. They are happy to answer any and all questions. I’ve gotten many piercings from them since they’ve opened and will get more in the future I’m sure.

Some of which I had to go in and get changed out, repierced etc. They’ve been so so so kind and accommodating, they’re incredibly nice, and I’ve never felt uncomfortable reaching out to request anything. My partner got two piercings on her lower lip (spider bites). Despite the fact that they were absolutely swamped with both appointments and walk-ins they both managed to maintain social distancing between clients and completed our piercing in an extremely professional manner.They used a hollow needle by hand for the piercing instead of those disease ridden piercing guns and I have never been more assured that the pricing was clean.Finally Im more than pleased with the pricing. For two piercings and, two rings to hold open said piercings, we only spent $100 (thats the price for the work, the jewlery, and enough cleaner to last several months.) I reccomend Area 51 for anyone looking for safe piercings and tattoo work.

I came here about a year ago to get my nose pierced. It was my first nose piercing so I didnt know what to expect. He pierced my nose with a huge ring way to far down. I was forced to come in a week later as it was super infected. The lady at the front desk looked horrified that I had gotten that done there. He took me back and switched it out with a stud. It eventually healed but that was such a bad experience and such a waste of money. Ill be getting it re pierced somewhere better.

I went in to get a PA and the gentleman that pierced me was training an apprentice so he asked if was alright if she was in the room. I agreed. As he was explaining to her he appeared very knowledgeable and patient. Im going back for some tattoo and who knows maybe a new piercing.

Ive gotten my ears pierced 3 times. Only two were in conscious memory-one I passed out and the other I got a Capri Sun-I bet you can guess which one I liked more. The first time it was a really new experience so I didnt know what to expect but yesterday I realized how bad my first experience was compared to Area 51. Area 51 made me feel comfortable, talked to me and made me laugh. I was able to pick my new earrings one by one (3 total) and I love them (theyre a little pricey but I wasnt paying so what can I say). Although the piercings hurt, Kenneth talked to me and didnt rush me through it so I felt a lot better. Between the 1st and 2nd one I asked for a bit more time to catch my breath and he did. After it all I sat up and told him I felt light headed and he gave me Capri Sun and I felt infinitely better. Its been over 12 hours, my new tragus doesnt even hurt and I cant stop bragging to my friends about how happy I am with the piercing and the experience :)

My brilliant existence did what weve all done during the pandemic. I bought jewelry online. This ended up being a not bright idea as I ended up with a septum hole that was closing without my knowledge. I went into Area 51 based on the ratings and the easy booking system, and I was not disappointed. I assumed the hole had completely closed since I couldnt get anything through it and that I would need it pierced again. The piercer asked me a few questions and said we probably could just taper it out. He was right, and he didnt charge me a piercing fee even though I feel like there should absolutely be one for that level of work.Everyone in the shop was super friendly and kind, something I appreciate and make note of in the sea of aloof and too cool studios. If we werent in a pandemic, Id actually want to hang out with them.On the pandemic note, I cant speak highly enough about the Covid precautions. You call the shop ahead of time to let them know youve arrived. I suggest doing this from your car if you can since its next to a loud road. I made the mistake of not doing this. Everyone was masked up and constantly cleaning. While studios of course have good sanitation practices to begin with, you could see that it had been taken up a notch. Everyone was also respecting social distancing and only coming into close contact with people who they were working on. Casual conversation was done from afar.I cannot give this place enough praise.

Kyler tattooed a rad Connie (the Hormone Monstress) on my calf well over a year ago and it still looks phenomenal. He took his time, but didn’t take TOO much time and his color choices have remained bright- even the whites of her eyes. Every person in the shop was kind and their customer service was top notch. The shop itself was clean and I love the atmosphere. TLDR; Area 51 is a shop where you feel at ease when you walk in the door- from the cleanliness to the artists and their work, you won’t regret your choice.

I went to get my septum pierced last June. They did not get the right spot, and not only did it hurt like hell, but the piercer did not stop even after I begged him to. And I mean, screaming and sobbing and saying stop, stop. Not only that, but he went in at a bad angle and had to redo it. When that happens a piercer is supposed to send you home, and then you can come back once the initial hole is healed over. He did not do that, and re-pierced it then and there. It was an overall traumatic experience and I went home in agony. For reference on how bad the pain was-- I had a fairly major abdominal surgery a few months ago. I had to walk right afterward, and it was so painful I nearly vomited. It was still not nearly as bad as that septum piercing was. Never coming back.

I love this place, but I went in last week to have my septum jewelry changed. Since it was the first jewelry change...He didnt tighted the ball enough. It fell off the next night while I was at home. I figured out how to put the tiny ball back on myself. I woke up the next morning and the ball was gone. Came off again when I was sleeping. I didnt have time to deal with it because I had to be to work at 6am. I proceeded on my day missing one ball on it. Because of this pandemic & the whole mandated face mask wearing I lost the jewelry while at work...Super sad because I paid $40 for it! Other than that they are great.

I discovered this shop in a groupon advertisment. I purchased the 2 session of tattoo removal for $75. The experiance I had with this amazing shop beyond anything I hoped for. Super clean and fun shop. Katie used her state of the art equipment to remove some decade old tattoos. She was amazing, kind and down to earth. While shoping around in Salem and Portland the lowest price I found per session was $150. Katies coupon is less than $39 a session. Unbelievable! Im extremely grateful for the oppertunity I might not have other wise.

Crazy-great space! Theres so much to look at inside that Im sure it would take many visits to begin to see it all. Ive been here a couple of times while my son was having tattoo work done and I totally enjoyed myself.
