The atmosphere was amazing. The studio itself is a funky collection of little things that just peak your interest. The artist are great and friendly. I love the vibe. Hoping to return in the future for more.

Jared was very knowledgeable, personable, and above all, very caring. I have extremely sensitive skin and he took his time to make sure I was comfortable and my tattoo would turn out how I wanted it too. My husband and I felt very welcomed and comfortable and will be returning for more work!

Ive had the best tattoo experience ever at Outkast. Josh has been a wonder to work with, and he had done any excellent job giving me the tattoo Ive wanted for decades. He drew my design according to my request (and made it better than imagined) and he doesnt drill into the skin like some tattooists in my past experiences elsewhere.The tattoo process was comfortable and of course sanitary. He didnt mind talking and joking, or just sitting in silence. My tattoo took 3 different visits which took a few hours each, and every time I started to feel uncomfortable with my pain level, he immediately stopped.The shop is well decorated to keep your eyes busy as you look around, there are TVs playing movies, shows, or anything you request, as well as music to keep your mind off the buzz of the tattoo machine.I fully recommend Outkast, and Josh, to anyone looking to get their first or just their next tattoo. Thank you so much!

To be fair I’m giving a combined review for 2 different experiences. Josh was great. Got what was requested done very well, and quickly, for a great deal. Great customer service, and by that I mean he was very professional and didn’t talk much outside of what was necessary to complete the work. I tipped him very well to consider this.Kyle on the other hand… for what it’s worth, his work looks great. His pricing reflects how he feels about you, and he made this clear from the very beginning, and I wasn’t able to tip him because he charged me ahead of time because he felt my “demeanor” was off and that I was arguing with him by asking literally any questions at all. I didn’t cuss or raise my voice, yet he continued to be as rude as possible for someone who apparently had nothing booked for the day. I can see why. He wasn’t tipped, not because I don’t tip, but because he didn’t provide me an opportunity to tip by charging me ahead of time, unlike Josh, but had he given me the opportunity to tip, he wouldn’t have deserved it. I can’t afford any legal trouble right now but I’m sure someone someday will have a chat with him in the parking lot about the way he likes to speak to people if he keeps it up. I won’t be going back to him, and I will pass the recommendation on to anyone who I know might be interested.Josh gets a 5, Kyle gets a 2 and only because the work was well done.

The people there were very nice and easy to talk too! The piercing was quick and easy and the pricing was affordable, definitely recommend!! Plus the outside and inside decor was insanely cool

Went here for my first tattoo and I loved it! The place is really cool on the inside and has a nice vibe. I had Josh as my artist and him and all the other staff were very kind, welcoming and sociable. Everything very clean. Everyone makes sure youre comfortable at all times. I recommend!

Anyone that tells you (especially without being asked) how good they are at their job, and how much experience they have, before doing any actual work, typically are nowhere near as good as they think they are.The people who are truly the best at what they do dont have to tell you how good they are. The reviews, word of mouth, and results speak for themselves.

I went in and got a tattoo a little over a year ago when I made the appointment I was not made aware that I was being tattooed by an apprentice until I had got there. Everything was going all right and initially I liked the tattoo once it got finished. But a few months after I got it done I reached out about getting a few fading spots touched up and they were very rude. And now a little over a year later the lines are faded and sloppy, doesn’t look good! I used to swear by this place, but after this experience I am not sure I will go back.

Very polite and accommodating. I called to make an appointment, they told me exactly what I would need, how much it would cost and how long it would take. When I arrived for my appointment, everything was exactly as the expectation they set. No hidden anything! They were clean and professional. I would recommend to anyone for piercing. Based on the ratings I would have gone for a tattoo here as well, if thats something I was looking to do.

Josh did a fantastic job with my first tattoo! My mom and I had been planning this for over two years and I finally bucked up and went and got it. I’m so glad I did! Will definitely recommend him to my friends and use him for future tattoos 🙂

Wish I could get some type of compensation or free work done to fix this mess on my leg done here. It was okay until the color was started. Even if it’s normal to have blotchy color between sessions, the colors are way darker thank they should be. Not sure if painting is similar to tattooing or not; but when I painted rosalina I started with a more whitish tan for her hair not straight bright yellow. Just wanted to share my thoughts and the $1000 piece of work I’ve been stuck with and ignoring for the past year. Would love to have worked on but worried it will just get worse since that’s what happened to me already. Outline was great then it just got worse and worse.

My friend and I went in for matching tattoos and Kyle overworked our tattoos. He went over mine 4 times and my friends 3 . When he was finished he didn’t even clean it off he just wiped it with sani solution and put salve on it and was done. He left ink all over our foot. The words on mine are raised and scaring and the birds on my friends have lost color among other things. When we went in to see about a partial refund we were told that was just how foot tattoos were, which my friend has one on her other foot she has had for awhile that looks perfectly fine, how it was our fault ect.. They refused to take any responsibility for the mistake at all and wouldn’t give any kind of refund. This place is very unprofessional and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Loved Jarred he was very nice and had so much knowledge when it came to piercings I was very nervous with getting my industrial piercing but he made it very comfortable and also reassured me that he knows everything that you need to know about piercing And that put my mind at ease!!! I would definitely recommend this shop!!!!

I got my tragus and belly button pierced here last May by Jarrod, both on the same day. The tragus piercing went fine, but he pierced me standing up rather than lying down for the belly button piercing. I nearly passed out from having to keep myself up with both the pain and having to see myself literally get stabbed. He also didnt make me feel like I was in safe hands, which I think is the most important thing considering Im letting myself get pierced. He kinda treated me with a get over it attitude despite me having a whiteout. Dont recommend this place.

Jarod was so friendly, chill and relatable. It was a very relaxing experience and their set up is so cool. Very nice place, very professional.

Absolutely loved my first tattoo, my artist (Jared) did a great job I was so happy with it and he made me feel calm and collected the entire time I was there. Going back to get rest of it finished cant wait!

My husband and I decided on the spur of the moment to get tattoos on his birthday. We wanted matching coordinates of where we were married. We decided on Outkast Tattoo and let me tell you I don’t go to many tattoo parlors but Outkast was clean and the staff was extremely helpful and kind. This particular night it was snowing heavily and the only two there were artists Jared and Josh. They could have turned us away (Especially after finding out Jared lives in Decatur) and said were closing up, but they didn’t. They treated us as if we were there when the doors opened for the day. They took there time and made sure we were happy! Great place and 10 out of 10 would get tattooed again and Outkast!

Jared is amazing! Professional and Perfectionist! My husband and I are very pleased with Outkast!!!! We wont go anywhere else. Absolute best in Springfield.

There is no better place in town, scratch that....the state, for a tattoo. Especially Mark and Jarod. The receptionist is also awesome there, and will get you scheduled and taken care of. Love this place.

Had the displeasure of dealing with Tom. He is the most miserable unhappy hateful POS. I first spoke to him after taking a break, he smelled like weed and looked high. Don’t ever pay him to show you something before the work is done. I would never recommend anyone to this place.

After getting a pretty neat tattoo I notice after a couple of days that part of the tattoo was blotchy. I waited 5 weeks to get a touch-up. Now, its been 3 days since the touch-up yet I see the same pattern from the original tattoo - blotchiness in part of the tatt. After this touch-up, I looked in the mirror and noticed that the tattoo wasnt really saturated, which is when I asked him again to give it another try (and he did). So, I got up without rechecking cuz I trusted he got it this time. I went ahead and tipped him again (not as much as I did the first time, but tipped nonetheless). Now, I tried to remedy this issue by emailing the artist Josh, on the issue yet instead of taking ownership he gave me an attitude and said I left satisfied though he said I needed to give the tattoo time to heal. So what is it? Leaving satisfied does not deem me to critique the tattoo or not waiting for it to heal? P.S. I waited 5 weeks and it did not change so common sense says if I see the same pattern even after hours and 3 days since the tattoo was touched-up then another 5weeks isnt going to change that. Will pay elsewhere to get it done nicely.

Josh got me in and out and taken care of in a short amount of time . I am very excited with his work and pleased with his professionalism.

Just stopped in to meet the artists and check on portfolios. Had an excellent experience. Will definitely be back to get some work done!
