The Reviews on here are asinine to say the least! I have always paid A deposit and they have always had great customer service and communication! I am always called with cancellations to allow me to get in sooner if I wish. My appointment has always been fulfilled and we have the best time! The conversation, the atmosphere, I am not the easiest person to tattoo either as I move around a lot and Cliff was patient with me, understanding, and offered me tons of advice not only on my tattoo but life in general. Cliff and Mandy are amazing people! Not to mention show me A bad tattoo that has come out of Clifford Taylor…. Don’t worry I’ll wait……. Seems to me like someone is on A personal vendetta against them and it’s wrong! He in my opinion is the most talented artist in the 417 and I am beyond proud to show off my Cliff T Tattoos!

I recently visited the Underground Tattoo and Gallary. I had been planning a tattoo for 12 -13 years. I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted a tattoo that would be astounding, a conversation started. I wanted to find an artist that understood my vision and could make it come to life. I talked to several artists within a few 100 miles of my location. When I talked to the underground I knew I had my people.It Started when I called, Mandy from the moment she answer the phone to the follow up text after the tattoo she was personable and professional. She put me ease assuring me this is a tattoo that Cliff would be excited about doing and that it would be a show stopper. Mandy asked me to send her some ideas and a little background about what I’m wanting to do. When I talk to Cliff, he was prepared which made me happy because I felt like he understood what this tattoo means to me. After talking to other artist I was prepared for at least two sessions lasting approximately four hours apiece. Cliff told me he would get it done that night which was concerning. I was afraid of an eight hour session, but Cliff is a Ferrari for a Corvette price. He got done in 3.5 hours, what most artists thought would take them 8 to 10 hours to do. You would need to ask Cliff if he’s heavy-handed or light handed. My experience says light handed. (Least amount of pain) he asked me what kind of music I liked and put on music that put me at ease. We laughed and talked while he worked on my arm. Cliff’s work is authentic and speaks for itself. but the atmosphere at The Underground Tattoo and Gallary is what everyone hopes to experience when visiting a tattoo studio. I for one will never go anywhere else. If you took the time to read this, take the time to call the underground tattoo and gallery. You will not be disappointed!!

The best art I have ever seen anyone do. Detailed, 3D, and BEAUTIFUL. If youre wanting top of the line work.... youve found it.Cliffs work is pure perfection, 10/100 recommend. Cliff and Mandy go above and beyond to make sure your feeling welcomed and cliff makes sure that the art he is putting on your body is out of this world. Hands down the best tattoo shop here in Springfield. If you need ink therapy, underground tattoo is the place to go. Once you go there you are part of the family. And to top it off they got a beautiful fish tank that will put your mind at ease. Keep up the amazing work guys. Will see you soon. Last but not least I had a tattoo done there 4 years ago and it looks like it was just done. I love it.

Cliff is by far the best in so many ways. I had a couple tats done at another place and felt like I was just a $ sign to them. Cliff listened to what I wanted and created my perfect tat that was so much more than I could have hoped for. I have now had Cliff do 6 tats and have another one set up for the 23rd of July. I am almost 62yrs old and feel like I am so much younger with his and his wife Mandys genuine care for people. If you want a new piece of art, go see Cliff for his amazing eye, hand, and passion for what he does. I promise, once you have gotten ink from Cliff, you wont go to anyone else. P.S. his prices are by the piece not the timer that their ink guns that some tattoers use.

My husband and I have had MANY tattoos done by cliff and more already scheduled, and I will say the experience was always AMAZING. His work is unmatched! Him and Mandy are very professional. And I leave every time in love with my tattoo! Shop is always clean!

By far the BEST artist ever! The negative reviews seem to not be actual clients of Cliff. If youve gotten work by him, I guarantee you ARE happy with the result. Keep up the good work Cliff! Im ready for my next tat!

I got work done by Cliff in 2020. I posted photos in my original review, which I see has been taken down. Suffice to say, I wasn’t pleased with the tattoo I received, and his girlfriend/wife was pretty unpleasant to deal with when it came to scheduling. I got an excellent rework at another shop, and I will never be returning for work from the Underground.

Now that I see Cliff and his shop have made a new page to hide their bad reviews, get an F grading from the BBB, and seeing that he abuses women. I would like to re post my review here. (After being begged to take down the old review)Beginning of the year I put down a deposit with him for a tattoo and getting it scheduled. I drove an hour to the appointment and the door was locked and he never showed, when messaging him about him no showing he took forever to respond. After about 3 weeks of never getting my appointment rescheduled because he would leave me on read. After no responses I then asked for a refund for the deposit which I was told would take 5 days. After not receiving it and leaving multiple messages and even calls and threatening to come into the shop I finally received my deposit back after almost 2 months. Never met the guy. But I would avoid him and this shop. ☺️

Cliff charged me $1500 for a 3-4 hour tattoo that he rushed through. He was getting his new car delivered to the shop that day and everything felt extremely rushed. I was under the impression that I was going to get a sleeve on the outside my arm through text but when he got there, he offered to create “smoke” instead of my Japanese flower idea that would connect the whole tattoo. I agreed which was a huge mistake. The whole tattoo ended up looking waaaaaaay different than what I wanted and he used one little drawing of “smoke” as a way to not finish the tattoo and left huge empty gap there that looks really weird. No one can even tell what it is every time they ask me about it. IT’S BECAUSE THE TATTOO IS NOT COMPLETE!!! THE WORST PART IS when I tried to have him fix it, he said he would but has ghosted me ever since. I’ve texted his wife/gf who controls all the appointments and they leave all my messages on read. He added me on Snapchat and when I brought up the same issue about fixing my tattoo, he left me on read there too. Overall, the whole experience felt really shady like they were just trying to steal my money which makes me sad because I have a tattoo on my arm I do not like. I put my trust in cliff and it seems like he just took advantage of it which is not cool. Personally, I would not recommend this shop. Do better, Cliff.

The artists steal hundreds of dollars in deposits without following through with appointments. You won’t get your money back either. They thought by deleting their old business account on Google and making a new one (to hide all the reviews) people wouldn’t still talk. Research them with the BBB before giving them a cent.

Dont just make a new Google listing to hide your negative reviews. This shop is shady, women are not safe here, and everything is dirty and they dont have responsible waste management practices. It is funny to look up the owners mugshots for his assault charge tho, so theres that.

These guys are the worst. The BBB just gave them an F rating for taking deposits and running so they created a new Google Listing to hide the bad reviews.Unlike your weak tattoos, you cant cover this up.

This is by far the best tattoo shop in the 417 go book right now cliff is so good at what he does ! his art is absolutely mind blowing i would 10/10 recommend
