J did such a great job doing a conch piercing on my daughter. He was calming and very thorough in explaining the process and the after care. I would definitely recommend him and I am sure my daughter will be back again.

Got my nose pierced twice, pretty last minute to boot. I have about a dozen other piercings from a few different shops.Jay was awesome Ive never had such a good explanation of what hed be doing and how to aftercare. He was very attentive and explained his whole process so I knew exactly what he was going to be doing every step of the way. Absolutely going to be coming back.

My friend got tattooed here, they liked the service and atmosphere but here’s what they had to say looking back on the experience:I have gone here for quite a few tattoos, in which about half of them have turned into blobs, or have bled over. In addition I was told I couldn’t get color by the owner himself David Jr Rose, who tattooed every tattoo, because he said it wouldn’t show up as much/fade (due to the color of my skin). Since then I have thought I could not get color, I recently got a COLOR tattoo and guess what it showed up. To put it simply, he is not experienced tattooing melanin skin unfortunately. That being said they need to educate themselves on tattooing people of color, and using color ink on ALL skin types! The fact it’s only been 2-3 years since getting tattooed by him and half of my tattoos you can’t even read or they have ink bleeding around them is ridiculous! Color tests should be done on all skin tones, simply because I have some melanin (I am caramel complexion) does not mean I cannot get color, and in general my artwork coming out distorted speaks to his expertise in general.

The piercer is the kindest man and he took in me and my cousins walk ins. He did her double nostril and my 3rd lobes plus my helix for 120 each person. He explains everything so well and is so easy to have a conversation with. I live 4 hours away and would honestly make the drive just to get work by him again. 10/10 would get stabbed again.

I usually faint when getting pierced, but Halo’s Tattoos did a great job making me feel relaxed and comfortable. The staff was very kind and efficient, offering many jewel options for my cartilage and ear lobes. Make sure to bring a physical ID and enjoy the trendy decorated spot.

I took my 15 yr old daughter to get her ears pierced. I had no idea hope important it is to have the piercing done by a professional until this experience. The gentleman who performed the piercing educated us on the procedure and was just a wonderful experience! I would never ever go to a place that uses a piercing gun.

Halo tattoo is awesome. Been looking for the right shop for a long time. Found it on Marshall st. DJ is second to none. He has been nothing but awesome with me and my family. The vibe there is great. I feel like Im in somebodys living room getting a tattoo. Very pleased glad I found them .DJ and Mike are awesome thanks guys

Aaron is a great tattoo artist, does amazing work and nice prices. 100% recommend checking him out and getting a tattoo done by him. Only downside is parking isn’t the best but to me it’s still worth it.

I cannot recommend this shop more. The ideal and original belly button piercing is stainless steel. Just about everyone uses this for their first piercing, but as it turns out, I’m allergic to it! A very kind employee took it out for free so it could heal and repierced it with a titanium one (which almost no one is allergic to) and it healed perfectly. I am so grateful for the time I spent with the staff, and I could not recommend this tattoo and piercing shop more!

I got my belly button pierced here in 2021 for my 18th. The guy who pierced me was very professional and did a great job of explaining the process and what care would be needed. Quick and fairly painless, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I followed the care instructions on a card he gave me and the piercing healed perfectly. I would definitely go here again for a piercing.

I have gotten it all done here and let me tell you they are always so sweet and kind. They make you feel super comfortable. My tattoos healed amazing and my piercings as well. Definitely come to HALO theyre great!

Had my first tattoo done here by Aaron. It was quick and painless( that’s right painless) and very well done. I love it. And I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it.Had to return a few weeks later for a new tattoo (because you can’t have just one)This time it was DJ Rose. Did a fantastic job!! I love this tattoo as well!Friendly atmosphere. Professional artists. And good pricing.Don’t forget to tip them. After all they are taking your idea and turning it into wearable art that you are publicly promoting for them.

I had an exceptionally good experience at Halo on Marshall street. With the number of people Ive seen in there the few times Ive gone, Im very surprised they dont have more reviews. In any case, this was my first tattoo and I was a bit nervous. From the beginning the woman working the front worked with me to find the right artist for what I wanted.I had DJ Rose do the actual tattoo. He was on time and went over the text and design I wanted in detail to make sure it looked right. You can tell hes passionate about the industry based on his tons of tattoos and views on people who dont tolerate them. The process of getting the tattoo wasnt all that painful considering I had it on my ribs. Good hands and the tattoo looks great.Overall, a clean tattoo parlor and great service made for an fantastic experience. I would definitely recommend them and would go back when I decide to get another one. Also, theyll do touch ups if your tattoo fades so thats worthy of note.

Great piercing experience. Everyone was friendly, and professional. Syracuse location where I went was clean and inviting. I loved the old school pin up vibe the place gives off. I would definitely recommend for a piercing. I’ll have to give their ink a try next.

I came in for my first tattoo on my arm, I had Mike and he was very pleasant to work with. He talked me through all the steps he was going to take and made sure to reassure me whenever I felt nervous. The tattoo wasnt as painful as I originally thought and he even took some extra steps to make the tattoo look sharp and clear. Very nice, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a (metaphorically) painless process. (Theyre also located next to Syracuse University so theyre also very experienced with first-timers!)

I took my 11 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. She was very nervous. Jason was awesome. He explained everything to her in a calm manner including the procedure as well as how to care for her new earrings. I appreciated that he spoke to her and looked her in the eye. He was very through about making sure everything was lined up before he started. He showed her the tools he was using and explained how he would use them. He didn’t sugar coat it for her, but also told her that it wouldn’t hurt as much as she thought. I appreciated his compassion which helped to put her at ease. Her new earrings look great and it was a great experience all around. I highly recommended Jason to anyone who wants piercings.

Aaron did my cover up! He explained every step and was honest from the beginning. He worked on me pretty quickly considering how big the cover up was. I will definitely be coming back. It’s a nice studio and his cute dog definitely lightens up the mood of getting a needle in your skin for hours on hours. Lol. He was sweet and straight forward. I recommend this tattoo shop. I’m from Ithaca and would much rather travel an hour for better tattoo work. I’m so glad I chose halo.

Got my tounge pierced at the original liverpool location 12 years ago was a quick and great experience, went to the syracuse location for a nose piercing. I was able to call and scehdule an appointment for the same day and i was walking back to my jeep within 15 minutes of walking in the building. Super quick, clean, friendly, and most reasonable price around. Definitely would recommend and Definitely will be returning.

Their sign clearly says walk-ins welcome. I went inside to get a piercing the girl at the reception area was rude and very unprofessional. Despite her rudeness I decided to wait after several minutes I decided to make an appointment to come back as I walked up to request an appointment with her telling me to wait she asks me what I need an appointment for didnt even remember the conversation mind you it was not busy at all. Then she walks towards the tattoo artist and walks back continues to do something with some bottles she was organizing. Not even an acknowledgement or even so much as okay lets book you an appointment. She was racist and could not even fake being nice mind you this business is setup right by SU and there are a lot of international students I wonder how she treats them. Poor service would not go there or recommend anyone

Tattooed by Jesse and I couldn’t have had a better experience. He took his time tailoring the design to exactly what I wanted. He used a lot of numbing cream and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. He gave me breaks when my body was giving up and made me feel so comfortable. The shop is so friendly. Highly recommend!

I got my ears pierced here when I was 7 they were so nice and friendly to me. When I was 16 I got my lip pierced here as well and again they were super nice and kind. Going this year for my 18th birthday to get a few tattoos done. The staff is always sweet and accommodating. I 100% recommend this place weather it’s your first piercing/tattoo or your last you can never go wrong with Halo Tattoo.

I got a double nose piercing to match the right side of my nose. for reference i have 16 other piercings so i have experience with piercings. i never have i had so many issues with a piercing in my life. when i was pierced i felt rushed and they never took my ID. the first piercing went fine. on the second he pushed needle too far through dropped it and had to rerun the needle. i got hot and felt as if i was going to pass out and ask him if i could lay down for the next and it seemed like he got annoyed…. then to top it off it’s now almost a year later and they still won’t heal all the way. i need titanium jewelry bc i have metal allergies and told them this and the jewelry they used was way too long. so after realizing they were irritating my piercing i had to change them and they still don’t want to heal:(

The guy that did my tattoo, jesse, didnt seem to welcoming, especially with it being my first tattoo, i didnt feel very comfortable, my tattoo is kind of wonky, took 3 minutes and didnt even get charged the shop minimum, and never gave me after care instructions! i feel like whether its someones first tattoo, or hundredth, you should still provide after care instructions, otherwise my experience was decent, but probably wont return

Aaron did my tattoo and it came out great but thats not all its about. price was high and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. i wont be going back. the liverpool location is a different story tho ive only had good experiences in there.

I wont be going anywhere else besides Halo for my tattoos from now on. Got my first one in the city where I live and made the 30-minute commute to Syracuse for my second one today. Extremely worth it. Only downside was the wait time; I knew they accepted walk-ins but I guess I just wasnt expecting to wait over an hour for my turn - however that wasnt really any of the artists faults, just me being impatient. DJ did my tattoo today and he was absolutely amazing! Incredibly friendly and efficient, made for a great experience while there. He knows what hes doing and is definitely in the right field of work! Will 100% be back there in the future.

I have 9 tattoos more and got the last two at this place on the same day. The artist was gone, though not very chatty and didnt seem to be at all happy for the work...I let that go. People have bad days, right? One of the tattoos, a year later, is fine. Its what I wanted and I wish the experience had been better but the tat is good. The other is honestly not great. The outline and coloring both faded horribly, parts of the outline were gone by the time it healed. I havent gone back to ask for recoloring because of the atmosphere, though. I didnt feel welcome or like the artist wanted us there, so Im just dealing with the subpar work. So, thats why three stars.

I got my first tattoo here in 2003.They did a great job, never had to get it touched up and it is still holding strong all these years later.I was kind of upset when I got it because the artist wouldnt put my first tat on my neck (or hands) like I wanted. But now that Im older and matured a bit, I am so thankful he wouldnt do it. I doubt Id have had the job opportunities Ive had if he had done it.

I had been wanting a tattoo for a while but always second guessed myself. On a whim I wandered into Halo and talked to the front desk and really set up my appointment for an hour from then, got DJ Roses e-mail, sent him pictures of what I was thinking about with a few minor changes I wanted and he did an awesome job sketching it and adding in my changes. I loved it. My first tattoo I was extremely happy. They were nice and made me feel really good about my choice! I WILL be back for sure, I already am thinking of another one! DJ Rose did an awesome job and I will bring anyone that wants a tattoo there!

I chose to go to Halo for my 3rd and 4th tattoos. I chose Mike because I think his work is incredible!! His work is everything I wanted and more! I cant speak for any of the other artists there, but I would definitely advise you to book an appointment with Mike. Great atmosphere and great experience.

Excellent experience with Anthony at the Liverpool location. I received two tattoos from Anthony. One was a large cover up of a previous tattoo which he designed. Looks amazing - highly recommend.

Its a small place, but very nicely set up. The artists are unbelievably talented! And with talk you thru what they are going to do, and want your input on what they are doing. And do unbelievably great work and are pretty fast, and will answer any questions you have.

My first time at Halo and it was great! Very professional staff and caring. I got a belly piercing that was smooth and quick. Paid $50.

I called the Halo tattoo place and the person that answered the phone was nice and said the guy that does body piercing will be there only Monday Wednesday and Friday. So I showed up there and talked to this bearded guy about removing my cartilage piercing to see if I can clean it. He was okay at first until I told them where I got my piercing from then he became rude asf and wasnt patient. I was trying to explain that I had a keloid on my left side of my ear and he said he didnt see anything but must be some other thing (forgot what he said). He took my piercing off and lost the ball so I had to buy another one since he was stupid enough to lose it. Whoever wants to take off any piercing or get a piercing I do not recommend the bearded guy with long hair. He is rude asf and isnt patient. Plus, you will waste money even if they say you wouldnt.

Just got my first tattoo done a few minutes ago. My artist, DJ was incredibly kind. Everyone was. Amazing experience, felt totally comfortable throughout the entire process.

Called while I was in town. Piercer fit me in before closing. Very professional and clean business. Would definitely recommend and would return if Im ever back in the area.

I went in to try and get a price on a possible tattoo, the guy there was impatient and kept cutting me off... I told him what size I wanted it and he said he couldn’t do it but told me it would be $250 for a quater sized tattoo.... will not be returning. I felt attacked and unwelcome.

They do well with walk ins and good art. This is where I got my first done but i tried going back and its wayyyy overpriced. The normal place I go to I have gotten a large piece and they wanted half of what I paid for that for two quarter sized simple ones

I dont recommend this place for piercings, they use cheap jewelries. My eyebrow went infected due to that and​ I had to go to another place to get real safe jewelries.
