Red Raven Tattoo and Body Piercing

I have not had a tattoo in just over 9 years due to losing the guy I used to go to to an early death. I went in today to get a few small pieces done as a birthday gift to myself. Stephen is amazing. His work is TIGHT.The atmosphere is welcoming, and very clean. Everyone was so friendly.The location is sweet, you get to watch traffic go by as they work on you.10/10 would recommend.

Called Red Raven at 7:10pm on a Friday and asked if they had time for 3 people to get piercings, they told us yes! (They close at 8pm and we had been turned down by 2 other places) Jeff was so nice, knowledgeable and professional when he brought us in for our piercings. He made us feel very welcome and helped me make a decision on which ear piercing on wanted! The place was also extremely clean and organized! Would definitely recommend Red Raven and I will 100% be back!

I came in to see Jeff for an ear piercing and it was the best piercing experience I have ever had! Jeff was very professional, friendly, communicated clearly, and made me feel extremely comfortable. It was a very clean environment and he was very gentle when it came time for the actual piercing. Jeff was AMAZING with my daughter. She was scared to get her ears pierced, but he walked her through everything and had her focus on a YouTube video and tell him about it while doing so. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a piercing.

Ive been to Red Raven for both tattoo and piercing. I have been getting pierced by Jeff for over a decade now and I have never had to remove any of them. My cheek piercings are the oldest ones he has done (2011) and my most recent is my bridge (2021) along with others in between. Hes always been accommodating and informative, the workspace is always clean and tidy, and hes incredibly accurate in his work. Hes one of the few freehand piercers I have encountered and is truly very talented.I have been tattooed by Chance multiple times over the last year and I absolutely love getting work done by him. He is clean and organized, great with communication, and really easy going and fun to talk with when your sitting in the chair for hours. Ill absolutely continue to get work done by Chance, hes always excited to tattoo and his work is wonderful.

I was very disappointed with my experience at Red Raven. Went in looking for a certain piece to be done. The artist I got, Ryan Stallman, scheduled me an appointment; which I had to reschedule. After multiple texts and calls within the span of a month, attempting to reschedule, it was apparent he no longer had any interest in working with me and was not going to let me know. Once I vocalized my disappointment, I got a response from Ryan informing me that I was impatient and a child. If you do end up trying them out, perhaps just ask for someone else. You might have better luck!

I brought my daughter for a nose piercing. Jeff, who did the piercing, was fantastic! He went over the details of placement, making sure she was comfortable with it & explained the process before he proceeded. He has a really great personality and a vibe to make people feel at ease. He let us know the care instructions & let us know if we had any concerns or questions to just reach or or come back in. Such a cool and professional guy in a nice chill atmosphere.

My daughter & I had the pleasure of having Jeff give us both new piercings last night. It was our first time going to a tattoo studio for a piercing. The whole vibe was so friendly and welcoming. Jeff was amazing- so kind, funny, engaging and gentle. He talked us through the whole process and was just fantastic! We will both be back! Thank you!

Ryan Stallman did a phenomenal job reworking with a tattoo someone completely messed up. The amount of detail in each feather is amazing, it really shows the passion he has for his artwork.

I’ve had 15 piercings done by various different artists at various locations and 15 infections due to my wildly sensitive skin. Nonetheless, I came to Jeff for my 16th back in September, and this has my first piercing with absolutely no problems. Whereas I’ve been told to move my piercing around and clean it with cotton in the past, Jeff’s clear instructions to leave it alone and only use saline wound wash spray have been a godsend. The piercing process itself was quick, affordable, and overall a good time, as Jeff is very friendly and keeps you distracted with funny conversation. My friends who came to support me were impressed and walked out planning piercings they didn’t originally intend on wanting. The facility was clean and impressively decorated, and I would easily return for #17. Thank you Jeff!

Do not get a tattoo from Stephen Fowler. He was late to the appt, hadn’t prepped anything, and the line work is absolute trash… like my friends who aren’t professionals do better line work than he does. I’m going to have to get it fixed because it’s barely visible. I know a lot of artists there are great and it’s disappointing such an awful artist would be employed there.

Such a great experience at Red Raven!!! Went in for a nose piercing - Jeff is amazing. Patient & friendly - took his time explaining everything which I appreciated. I felt so comfortable with his work that I ended up also getting an orbital conch piercing as well! The piercing room was impeccably clean and Jeff took every precaution to keep things sanitary & sterile - changing gloves each time he touched my nose or my ear. Really, I cannot say enough good things about my experience! Going back in a few months… we’ll see what else I try!

I have had several piercings done by Jeff and he was fantastic each time. He makes the process very easy and comfortable. At no time did I ever feel pressured or unsure. If I ever need another piercing I’ll 100% go back to Jeff. He’s the best out there.

I took my daughter to get her ears pierced with Jeff Waterman, he did an amazing job. Its so nice to finally have someone take their time with you in a world that is so rushed. He acted out a whole practice version of what was going to happen so that we knew what to expect. He explained everything in detail before starting. I was nervous myself about getting her ears pierced, but was grateful with how comfortable he made her feel! My grandma wouldnt stop talking about him for days! She was impressed.

Jeff did a couple piercings for my girlfriend and was phenomenal. Incredibly clean, professional and knowledgeable about after -care. I only suggest Jeff for any piercing needs in the Utica area, without a doubt!Edit: Just had a tattoo done by Stephen and that man is absolutely incredible! I had a raven tattooed on my hand and I didnt realize how tight the line work would be after scaling down the original size, my man killed it. My girlfriend and I came to this place to get piercings. I went to get a nose piercing, and she came to get her ears pierced. However, she was rather nervous.The person who did our piercings went above and beyond to make her and I comfortable. He explained everything wed need to know about our piercing, but he also did a really good job on the piercings.This was far better than my experience getting my ears done at a different tattoo place. If my experience so far is something to go off from, Im definitely going to be back to Red Raven for more piercings and some tattoos. I think anyone reading this should certainly do the same! ♥

I came into a walk-in appointment with Jeff and got a double nostril piercing. Jeff was super professional and friendly, the shop was very clean and nice, and Jeff really took his time to make sure everything was lined up correctly and that I was comfortable with the placement. The piercing itself was quick and easy, and I’m super happy with how they’ve healed the past several months. Extremely fast responses to questions I’ve had on the Facebook page as well. Trying to get in for a tattoo appointment next, can’t wait! I would recommend this shop to anyone.

Got my nose pierced here over a year ago, has healed beautifully and i love it! Just went again with my sister, for her piercing appointment. Thank you to Jeff for being so cool and kind both times Ive gone. Would 100% recommend!

I will return here. I came for the halloween special but even with all the chaos of people all the staff was still super chill and were just great people. Unfortunately I dont know the piercers name but he had to handle some drama but he handled it fantastically. I was there so long I thought about getting a piercing just to pass the time but there wasnt a piercing sheet and Im not really familiar with piercings so I didnt ask because I didnt want to be that person asking what everything was lol. The only thing to stop that drama from happening again is banning people from signing other people up who arent there but thats next to impossible because who has time to babysit people signing the board. I had Amel do my tattoo. I didnt request anyone specific but now I can say I have an Amel tattoo even though its flash, its a great tattoo. All the artists here are above talented and I look forward to coming here again in the future and recommend this place to everyone looking for a quality tattoo with a positive atmosphere

Based on the stencil that was used, the artist, Julio, did a decent job. My main issue is that it wasnt the design I requested from Julio. Very little communication. Was told hed text me for design and never did. I had to go back to the shop after several attempts to reach him to provide the design. Just bugged the design I asked for wasnt used. Also didnt mention that it was cash only until after the tattoo was finished so I had to run my card multiple times since there atm has a $200 max limit leading to multiple atm charges.

I had previously gone in for a small tattoo with Hannah. She was amazing! I was a little nervous and she was very patient with me which I was super grateful for! She gave me her professional input on how the tattoo I decided to go with and I completely trusted her with it and i’m absolutely obsessed with it! Thank you hannah! I would definitely go back to hannah again!I went in for a walk in piercing and it was the best experience! Jeff was very nice and knowledgeable. He was open to my concerns about past piercings I had that didn’t heal so well (not from this place) and he helped find a better solution which I was super grateful for! The piercing itself was so easy compared to my past ones I didn’t even know it was done. Both my girls and myself have been here multiple times for piercings and Jeff is the best! We all felt wicked comfortable- he talked my girls through it like nothing. I’ll never go anywhere else! We’ll be back in a couple months to do my new granddaughter’s ears. I wouldn’t trust another person to do hers! Hey that’ll be 3 generations of piercings he’s done in our family!

Whenever someone asks me where they should go for a tat or piercing, I will always say Red Raven. Jeff (piercer) is unbelievably professional, answers any and all questions, and ensures that you’re comfortable throughout the entire process. I believe he goes above and beyond for every single person that walks through the door looking for a new piercing. I personally cannot speak for any of the tattoo artists at this shop, but I have seen the stunning work and heard from other customers that this is the only place they’ll go, no matter the wait time. Beautiful shop! Very spacious and welcoming, and I love the setup for the entire place. Everyone there was very friendly and easy to talk to. They all do amazing work when it comes to tattoos, but Cody is my favorite. I definitely will be getting my next tattoo there. Highly recommend!

Incredible shop! Jeff has been my piercer for years and I truly would never go to anyone else. He makes sure do go through everything needed to know so you feel comfortable with the piercing and aftercare, cleans everything before and after and KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!! Ive gone to Red Raven for 3 piercings, my navel, nose, and medusa. I absolutely love all of them and highly recommend Red Raven for all piercing needs! Everyone makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in! Jeff was very professional and clean as well as organized. He walked me through every step and gave me some M&Ms when I almost passed out for the medusa lol. Ive also gotten multiple tattoos done from multiple artists and I will most definitely be returning with my new ideas!

Yesterday my 17yr. Old daughter had 2 piercings done by Jeff. When we walked in, the place was immaculately clean, sanitizer and masks in front for patrons. One of the Tattoo artists greeted us as soon as we came in and made sure to make conversation. Jeff was extremely polite and pleasant. I wasn’t uncomfortable and my daughter wasn’t either. We went back to the piercing area with Jeff. He explained everything very clearly to my daughter & made sure she was completely comfortable before doing her two piercings. Not to mention, it was extremely clean in the piercing room as well! I was seriously in awe of how well taken care of this place was! Beyond impressed! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone, especially to those who are going with their children and have questions or feel the slightest uncomfortable. Because YOU WILL NOT be disappointed here!!! Ask for Jeff for your piercings!

My go to place for piercings !! jeff is not only extremely professional but he always makes me laugh even when i got my industrial done and i was super nervous. i’ve had all my piercings done by him and i’ll never go anywhere else:) i’ve gotten a few flash sheet tattoos here as well and i love how many options they have and every artist i’ve sat with did amazing! never had any issues with any of the work i’ve gotten done here and i can’t wait to go back for my next piercing!!! totally recommend this shop for any piercing or tattoo work

The place was nice and clean, the person who pierce my cartilage was super skilled and patient. The process was fast and not as pain as I thought(I think he distracted me from the pain very well), and I didn’t feel any uncomfortable 24hrs after the piercing. Very recommended.

I’ve gotten my nose, industrial, and several other ear piercings done here, and the experience is nothing short of five stars. the guy is fantastic and creates a clean and friendly environment. all of the piercings have looked great and are done with nice jewelry. i cannot recommend this place enough.

So I started a half sleeve tattoo with an artist named Ryan at this Tattoo shop who quoted me a certain price for it then gave me the run around for 6 months doing unfinished sections at a time. Every time we had an appointment he’d cancel on me last minute coming up with any excuse, then starts saying I’m not paying enough for the tattoo to have a “Guaranteed appointment” and saying he’s having financial issues. Then says I was disrespectful for confronting him on why he kept cancelling, and he didn’t wanna finish the tattoo because of it. You shouldn’t tell someone a certain price for a tattoo then months later hit them with the “ I don’t quote tattoos ever, and good luck budgeting ink on your skin” through text message and leave me paragraphs longer then my gf would send me with fake excuses. I didn’t want to leave red raven a bad review because everyone else there seems like decent people , but this made me have to. I wouldn’t recommend this man to anyone, unless you wanna deal with a bunch of games and a headache & be put off for months or longer!

I love this place, my sister and I got piercings here and I give 5 star, jewelry is good, piercing is good, great customer service. The guy that pierced us was incredibly nice and funny and makes it the best experience. I can’t wait to go back for more piercings. If people complain about if the piercing got infected, it’s not the piercers or the jewelry’s fault, it’s the fault of the person taking care of it, you have to take good care for every piercing. I love this place so much, I only want to get my piercings here! Much love

Could not have asked for a better first tattoo experience. Everyone Ive ever talked to about recommended tattoo artists in this area has said Amels name first. I went in for the Halloween BOGO piercing special & Jeff was amazing. I messaged his fb page prior and he was very detailed in his responses. In person he’s very nice and clean. He made both piercings go smoothly and a few days later I barely feel any pain. Can’t imagine going to anyone else for my next piercing.

Had 9 tattoo appointments 5 of them were cancled with julio. Last minute cancelations two of them were all day tattoos inwhich I took vacation days from work. One appointment I drove 35 minutes to be there at 9 and he never showed up so unperfectional.

I have been getting pierced by Jeff for many many years. I dont live in NY anymore. When I want something pierced I will wait until I tavel back to NY just to have Jeff do my piercing. Highly highly recommend!!

Got my septum and ears done. They were all crooked when I got them. Took care of my piercings properly too. Didnt touch them at all, used sea salt spray piercing aftercare, etc. Had to take them out because they were still crooked after they healed.

Went in for piercings last night and I’m extremely happy with how they turned out :) they were positioned in the exact right spots and they were so patient with my friend with her cheek piercings to get them to line up perfectly ! Will definitely be returning!

Jeff pierced my daughters ears and was amazing he explained everything to her and was very patient and understanding, since she is 9 and very scared of needles. He did nothing til she was ready and told her right from the start i work for u, made her laugh and was just all around Top Notch 5 stars all around and will be visting them again in the future and many years to come !!!

Do not go to this shop!!!!!!!!!!Held an event and had people cutting lines for a clipboard. When brought to their attention, they said “nothing I can do about it now”. Told them I was waiting for several hours and kept getting told “about an hour” for the wait every hour. Told them I had an appointment that I had to keep. Instead of getting the people who waited, we had to wait for them to call the ones who weren’t there and then wait for them. It was a complete hot mess and I would never recommend them to anyone. I would rather travel farther than to deal with this shop again. Why would I give this shop my money after the way they handled this?

We had a great experience getting our daughters ears pierced. He was professional and very kind to our daughter allowing her to say when she was ready.

Went and got a tattoo done with my girlfriend a month and a half ago with the artist J.R. . We were his first clients at 10am and he was messing around with another artist and customer for about 30minutes before my girlfriend got in the chair. After I got my tattoo we took care of them and the green leaves on my tattoo didnt heal correctly. I waited for them to heal and made an appointment for a touch up with J.R. . He had a client which was fine. My appointment was at 1pm it was now 1:30pm and I just reminded him that my appointment was at 1pm. He got me in the chair and didnt even look or ask what was wrong with my tattoo which was red flag #1. One of the leaves was kind of scarred and he went over it anyway without looking at it which I was told youre not supposed to do. I told him it seemed like the green didnt take last time, he didnt say one word to me. He was rushing and just seemed like he wanted to get me out of there as soon as possible. He didnt go over the leaves with black and also the one leaf when he wrapped it was bleeding very badly and all he said was oh theres a scab there. Why would he go over that ? Why wouldnt he look at my arm before touching it up? After he wrapped it he said dont disrespect his shop again because all I said was that my appointment was at 1pm so he took his bad tattooing job out on me and now I have to pay for that for the rest of my life. Its a horrible touch up and looks worse then it did before the touch up. Dont ever go there and if you do, dont go to the artist J.R. , obviously his ego is more important then his work. Very unprofessional and rude to me in front of clients and staff. There is a picture of the touch up afterwards where the scab is that he tattooed over that would not stop bleeding even when I got home. I dont think this is what a touch up should look like.

Never had anything but my ears pierced but red raven was a great experience and I will be going back for my lip and tongue. I recommend this business for anyone looking for piercings.

$100 minimum which was ok.. my tattoo artist, who never said his name, never said anything to me literally at all..felt kinda weird but hey was already there I had got a super small wrist tattoo and my very small lines are uneven..
