I’ve been getting tattooed by Dustin for over 15 years and he amazes me with his talent every time. From the moment I walked into The Dead Presidents Lounge I felt like family. I’ve never met a group of talented artist who are so friendly and welcoming and just so enjoyable to be around. If your looking for an upscale tattoo shop full of zen and cleanliness look know further cause you won’t be disappointed. I’m happy to call this place my second home!!!!

The Dead Presidents Lounge is awesome. They are so well organized, and the vibe at the shop is awesome. Whitney is absolutely phenomenal at what she does. I love how particular she is, and she pays attention to every detail! Her line work is out of this world. I already have two tattoos from her and am looking forward to many more!

I highly recommend Dead Prez lounge for any tattoo work. I came here with a friend years ago from Mass & told myself this is where Id come for any future ink. I have not been disappointed in the least! Christian is my artist & hes done important, family-related pieces for me that have come out way better than I even imagined. I recently decided to get my very first tattoo. I was apprehensive and had no idea what to expect. Dead Presidents was everything I could have hoped for and more. Everyone I encountered made the experience easy. From the booking to the final product I could not have asked for more. My tattoo artist Natalie was amazing. She was warm and friendly addressed my concerns. She worked closely with me to create a tattoo that I would love and boy did she deliver. The end result was everything I wanted and more. Hands done the best person to work with for my first time and I will absolutely be going back to her for another. Thank you everyone at dead presidents for going above and beyond and making my first experience and hopefully not my last one memorable.Update: Got my 2nd tattoo… again from Natalie and she knocked it out of the park. I had Natalie add on to a tattoo that I already had. She did not make me feel rushed during our consult. I had changed my mind on tattoo from application. No problem! I showed her pictures from Pinterest that were a concept I had. When I got there for my tattoo day she showed me what she came up with. I didn’t know if we’re going to be on the same page, but she got it spot on! The detail is phenomenal!! It looks like it has always been a part of my first tattoo! Everyone was wonderful there! Having to wait 3 months out from application to appointment sucked but it was worth the wait!!!! I will definitely be back for more art with Natalie!

It was my first time getting tattooed at 18 years old. Derek was my tattoo artist and he was the most disrespectful human. he tattooed my brother multiple time and knew it was my first time and proceeded to call my design for my deceased father stupid and meaningless and that this simple design was a waste of his time. Derek even brought other artistes in to make fun of me. the thing is, you have to fill out a form to get tattooed there. they knew it was my first time and was nervous yet i was told i was wasting his time, stupid, and the overall idea was meaningless. But apparently this is how they treat young first time female clients.

Natalie is the best. She was quick to respond and pretty quick to start working on the design that I wanted and get my approval.Her work is great and the session was very comfortable since she’s super chill. It did not feel like an hour as it went by very quickly. The tattoo turned out exactly how I wanted it.She charged me $120 for the hour which is good for the quality and she was able to achieve a lot within the hour, given Covid procedure.The store itself is very clean and the staff are very kind and respectful.

I haven’t gotten my tattoo yet but I just got back from my consultation and Dave b is super friendly and understanding. I wasn’t sure what I wanted yet and he helped me and guided me through the whole thing and we came up with a great idea that I know he will crush. I wasn’t certain in anything, placement, and if I wanted a koi or dragon. But he helped me the whole way. Can’t wait for my appointment! Also you get what you pay for and I can see it will be worth every dollar!Edit: I got my outline and it is amazing! He said it would possibly take 3 hours it only took 2, therefore cost less than I expected that time around. Was very pleased experience it was my first big tattoo I never needed a break or felt uncomfortable a single moment. It was great conversation and all around just a great experience. Dave is awesome and I have an appointment at the end of this month to color and finish it. Here are photos of it when I first got done!

This establishment was highly recommended to me by a friend. I was not disappointed at any point in the process. Staff was friendly and professional, the shop was absolutely pristine, and the overall atmosphere was creative and fun. My piece took 3 sessions and was done by Krystal. I am exceptionally pleased with the quality and have received many compliments on it. It was well worth the drive from Granville to Albany. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who is interested in quality work in a relaxing environment.

I drove here from VT for a consultation. Peter Clark squeezed me into his schedule and I was able to have my tattoo finished that day. I was super impressed with the overall quality of the tattoo and his script. Super friendly environment and great vibes! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have work done, and I will return if ever interested in getting more myself.

Went in for my first tattoo with Krystal and she did a great job- its really small and simple but she patiently answered all my questions and made sure I was happy with what I was seeing at every step. Dan at the front desk answered all my emails and questions quickly too which was much appreciated. The shop is really clean and even as someone who was getting her first tattoo, I didnt feel anxious or worried once I stepped in. Would definitely come back here for future tattoos!

Serene beautiful private place. Melanies work is stunning I get stopped in public w amazing compliments. She does incredible work taken from art as well as fabulous freehand. She makes you very comfortable and has a terrific personality. I took my daughter and the work she did exceeded her expectations and mine. Shes a true artist and I would never have any one else do work on me. I cant say enough, its worth the trip and wait for the appointment.The color has stayed vivid, I plan to have more added. The photos are my favorite one its on my arm about 5 years old.

From initial consultation to finished tattoo all was professional and top notch .everyone, especially the young man answering the phone was very polite and and put up with all my questions. Clean comfortable place with very talented artist. They stayed in touch during the whole planning stage and appointment stage and the price was very fair. Tat came out perfect and exactly how we wanted. Would give even more stars if I could. Will definitely be getting next piece done by them..UPDATE...just got 2nd piece done and booked the 3rd one.Pete has been absolutely great to work with and his talent is amazing..

Halie curs hair in a private studio here and they always leave me feeling far hotter and also more cool if you know what I mean. I also love the gender-and-gratuity-free pricing that they offer, very affirming and you always know exactly what you will pay when you walk in. In short, come to the Dead Presidents Lounge to get the coolest haircut of your life done by Halie; you’ll be a baddie immediately.

I went today for tattoo removal. HIGHLY recommend. Christian is knowledgeable and patient. The place is as clean as you could possibly get this is where you want to go if you are in need of tattoo services. I’m really glad I chose them.

Christian did a fantastic job! He blocked off a whole day so my wife and I could get tattoos together. Mine came out fantastically. Hers needs shading but the line work is great! Overall very clean, professional, wonderful experience. I will come back for more.

I have been coming to Dead Prez for years! I have been tattooed by Dan, Dustin, Christian, Krystal and Pete and they are all professional and nice tattooers. I am happy with every one of my tattoos! They are all very nice, caring and will work with you with whatever you need! I have also had Will assist me in my jewelry and he is extremely professional and courteous. If you are looking for the top tattoo shop in the Capital Region area, The Dead Presidents lunge is the best shop, hands down. You will never be disappointed!!!

They make you submit an application for a tattoo description of what you want and where etc which is fine however they never answer when you submit the form.....it does say may take some time which is understandable but I submitted and never heard a thing back........

I went to Krystal originally for a small cover up. She did an amazing job. I have since gone back for another consultation and am starting a half sleeve in September. The Dead Presidents Lounge is clean and professional. This is definitely the place to go if you’re looking for a nice long lasting tattoo.Update: I just started my half sleeve, lion/lamb and the outline looks phenomenal! Wouldn’t go anywhere else for my tattoos!

Awesome place. Will only go here for tattoos/piercings from now on. Krystall did a huge cover-up piece for me and it came out amazing and she is so friendly. The piercer Will also helped me a ton by changing my rose ring. My piercing is crooked, so it hurt a bit yet he was so friendly and comforting and took care of me well. These guys are awesome, professional, and great at what they do.

I feel like this is more than a tattoo shop/lounge it’s a place of peace and serene. The energy is all positive and along the with vibes the staff is amazing the artist are all friendly and knowledgeable. Went in and saw Christian for a laser tattoo removal. He explained everything that was going to happen and answered any questions I had. I felt comfortable and relax, even though I went in nervous as all heck. So very pleased with how my tattoo is coming along after only on session. I would highly recommend going here.

When I was 18 I got a stupid tattoo. After 8 years, I finally mustered the courage to admit this fact, and with this admission, I decided it was time to rectify it. I went to Dead Presidents Lounge after multiple recommendations from friends who had gone, and I am extremely happy with the results. My artist (Pete) set my mind at ease early on, and worked with me to lay out some seriously cool ink.The shop is super clean, almost doctor-office like (no white walls).The only problem is parking near there is tough, but thats the charm of downtown Albany, right?

Having visited a number of tattoo parlors all over the country, Im pleased to write this review for Dead Presidents Lounge. I would say that this is the premiere shop for the Capital District, and personally my go-to resource for any work that Id be looking to get done, large or small.The shop itself has a very professional atmosphere, and even better, a friendly vibe. Conveniently accessible off of Madison Aves Bohemian district, DPL is immaculately organized over two floors of a local office building. The lower floor offers wellness services beyond just tattooing, which is fairly intriguing, and affords the clientele the experience of tattooing as exactly that: a form of wellness. Well-curated provider and artist rooms are connected via a main clerical and seated waiting area that has a chill, somewhat anthropological vibe, with graphical stylings, amusing cultural items, and portfolios available for examination. The offices are well-lit, well cared for, calm, and insightful in their layout. All of the sanitization rigor you would expect at an urgent care are secreted away in various nooks, and there is an abundant sense of care and technique to the shops hygiene standards.The variety of artists is what you would come to expect with a premiere shop; broad capabilities and range are available for all tastes, with specializations in particular techniques represented for the more hardcore subjects looking for original, authentic work in defined styles. Being an American Traditional/Sailor Jerry man myself, theres all sorts of goodies I could get done here, but those seeking photorealism, traditional Japanese styles, etc. will all find a safe haven here. The artists themselves are a joy to work with, Krystal in particular in my case, and there is a collegial, friendly atmosphere amongst the group that belies the fact that more is shared here than physical proximity alone.Shop rates are reasonable given the premium nature of the experience; more importantly, you more than get what you pay for. My final word here is that Ive gotten pieces at shops all over the country, some of which are a little less than stellar compared to others. DPL and Krystal were able to breathe life into one particular piece that had me a little depressed, and is now a favorite again. This is to say nothing of the big, broad, badass pieces I got new here, and Krystal was willing to work with me every step of the way to bring my vision to life.Fantastic shop, now my home shop; you should stop on by with your project with no reservations except the one you can make online, or give them a call.

I was tattooed by Dustin Horan in March of 2011. The experience was beyond what I expected. Dustin was professional, attentive, friendly (in general hes a pretty amazing person). This is in addition to the fact that he is extremely talented. The environment of the shop is very relaxed - all of the artists support each other and are genuinely excited about what theyre working on.

Just got my second tattoo from Christian Minick. I gave him my ideas for a design and he created the perfect piece. Such a nice guy and great atmosphere. Super comfortable, great staff, talented artist. I recommend Christian to anyone looking for some new ink.

The staff is incredibly friendly, the artists are some of the most talented in the area, but the reason Dead Prez gets 5 stars is how conscious they are about having a clean environment. Having tattoo work done can come with some pretty big risks, but the staff and artists do everything they can to eliminate them. Stop in and see for yourself!

I have been going here and seeing Dustin for a couple years now. I have a full sleave and am in process of doing a back piece. My wife sees Pete and my daughter soon to see Krystal for her first piece. On top of these 3 all the guys hear are fantastic artists that do amazing work. Shop is a custom shop not a walk in off the street pick a tattoo from a wall kind of place. Anything from traditional to Japanese to any style no problem. The shop is spotless and just a very nice atmosphere, private rooms very well orginized. Would recomend to anyone! 5 stars!!!!

I got a tattoo of Buddha about 3 years ago from Pete and the guy was so chill and awesome to get my tattoo from. Not only was he cool, but the Buddha came out just gorgeous, and when I move back to upstate new york, I will definitely stopping in when I have the money and getting another tattoo from him.

This was my first tattoo and I found all of his suggestions and advice to be super helpful. The end product came out exactly as I wanted it. The whole shop has an inviting atmosphere and the artists are incredible at what they do. I won’t hesitate to come here again with my next idea, I’m looking forward to it.
