Do you know what makes a good tattoo artist? I think it is NOT someone who knows how to draw pictures on skin and that is it, but someone who also listens and cares about the tattoo. Its the character, empathy and the confidence of the person as well.I would never have stepped in this shop if it wasnt for Jack. He was willing to give me a tattoo no other so called Tattoo artist would. No one wanted the challenge. No one would even here my story as to why I wanted it. Jack did. I spent a totally of 7 hours, and laughed my heart out at the pain.After 14 Nos from various , tattoo artist I finally got the tattoo of my dreams and Jack made it happen. To me he is the best Tattoo Artist ever!!Thanks Jack , this ment the world to me.

Came here 22 years ago for my first le brea piercing and returned for a close ones first tattoo. Great place. Sterilized. Safe. Fast and efficient. Todd is the man! Keep up the good work!

Had a few piercings done earlier in 2022. Daith, flat, conch and 2 tragus. Months apart for healing. Piecer has a gentle hand. No pain during the piercings. Prices not too bad. The only thing I recommend is more options for jewelry in black. Other than Im going back to change out the jewelry. 🙂

My fiancee and I went here yesterday although Id been here before years ago I was surprised to see that the same lady was working there she pierced me previously so we both wanted our eyebrows done I told her how she was the one who pierced me years ago we had lots of laughs and conversation very friendly very gentle I do recommend this place 100 its clean calm environment also very fast and accurate of thinking of getting tattooed or piercings done come here you cant go wrong with anything you may choose here is a picture on my beautiful eyebrow piercing thank you so much for the great work girl!! Walking down Central just happened to find this place. I decided to stop in to check out body jewelry. Great assortment & of quality. Red was very helpful in the selection. place was very clean & busy. When I bought my body jewelry he even gave me 2 alcohol pads to clean them Incase I wanted to wear immediately. They had every gage of jewelry even the larger pucks. Check these guys out, but understand right now due to balloon fiesta they are busy, but very much worth the stop in.

Sachs was a Great experience! We went in with an appointment but we forgot my daughters birth certificate so they unfortunately declined us, but said to come in at opening the next day and they could get us in right away. So we did that! We got there right at 12 but had to wait a few minutes because the person opening was running late ( not a problem) then they got us in right away ( like they claimed ) and got all the paperwork started immediately! The piercer Karly did an amazing job at telling my daughter the aftercare process and what she was going to do before she did it. Though one complaint I have is that when you first walk into the lobby, it smells like cigarettes and weed. Which makes the environment a bit iffy but by experiencing their work they still are excellent. I would come back

Great place, and good prices! Redd was awesome and super friendly. This was one of the quickest, least painful piercings Ive had and he even hooked me up with some aftercare products. I definitely recommend them :)

An Albuquerque icon, Sachs has been around for decades. Its because they do it right there, safely and at reasonable prices. I got a simple brow piercing, and it took less than half an hour, did not hurt much, and the artist was very communicative. I went with a friend, and they peirced us together, so bring your buddy!

The staff was extremely helpful in helping me find the right high quality body jewelry. This is a great place to look if your seeking something hypoallergenic. Well be back for sure!

Melissa is amazing! She did a great job with the piercing. She told me all that I needed to know and has helped me with jewlery now that the healing process is almost over.

I took my daughter there about a week ago to get her nose septum Pierce. I love the atmosphere and they play really good music. The young lady that did the piercing she was very nice and Gentle, Before I even went I thought it was gonna be a painful ordeal but Im such a scary cat anyway, It was just more so like a pitch and really fast. She let us know everything that needs to be done and how often. I will recommend this place to anybody that needs body piercings.

Went in to get some jewelry changed out because I struggle doing it myself. they made sure I got the jewelry I wanted and took me back right away to switch it out. Most places wouldve denied me without an appointment so I appreciate their kindness and quickness with it. I have been wanting frenum piercings, aka below the belt, for a long time now, but always have been nervous about where to go or who to see. Well, last night, I finally pulled the trigger and got 4 bars of the Jacobs ladder put in. The room I was in was so clean and the sterilization process was on point. The owner Callen and the Piercer Melissa were so professional and excellent the process was quick, and almost completely pain free. He let me know what to expect and how the entire process was going to happen. I am so glad I did this and if anyone else out there is wondering about getting their genitals pierced, this is the place to go!!! Also, just do it!

I got a tattoo here and left feeling pretty disappointed. The tattoo is OKAY, but the shop doesnt feel super clean or organized. If you have a tattoo idea that you really love, I would recommend checking out other shops...

I tipped more than what the tattoo was worth because I appreciated the gentleman getting me in on short notice, I tried contacting multiple times since to get a touch up and I haven’t heard back. I went in he wasn’t there(but still works there), so I’m stuck looking for someone else who wants to fix someone else’s work. I understand if it’s busy but for being over half a year it seems a bit much.

Edit: I cant say sachs is the best anymore. Since Cal passed it hasnt been the same. The last time I went was a pretty bad and painful experience just for a jewelry change and I dont think Ill be returning.Got my first piercings here. My girlfriend always goes for all her needs as well and theyre the best in this half of the country by far. Affordable and always available for the aftercare questions. Hit em up for all your needs!

Great! I got my medusa pierced today. They had tons of jewlery to chose from and they were super helpful and nice about the aftercare process and calming my anxiety. Callen was amazing. Everything was cleanly and sterile. I definitely recommend and will go here again.

So happy I took my almost 8 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. Place at the mall was very hesitant because of her age and said, “MAYBE we can squeeze you in,” when I called to make an appt. Sach’s was so kind and courteous on the phone. When we’re got there, Callen was so sweet to my daughter and calmly walked us through every step. It was such a great experience, he’s skilled in his craft and making people feel comfortable. It was my wife’s birthday and she asked to be pierced. This is the only place I trust to do the work. They are so professional and really do take pride in what they do. Callen is amazing walks you step by step on what’s about to happen and what to expect. He did an amazing job and gives you all the aftercare info you need to make sure your piercings stay clean. My tattoo is absolutely terrible. My friend and I came in for Friday the 13th tattoos. Since we werent able to get the deal that day, we received a voucher to come back another day. I thought that was so great, and I was so excited for my tattoo, especially since the client could choose the design. I wouldve been totally up to picking a design off of a flash sheet as well, but it was exciting being able to pick my own design for the deal! Since this was a Friday the 13th deal, I chose a simple tattoo. It was mostly line-work, and there were two things to fill in. It was not an intricate design in the slightest. After having us wait for almost an hour and a half in the lobby (after we showed up 15 minutes early to our appointment for paperwork), the experience kept going downhill. When I finally looked down at my tattoo (calf/shin) my heart dropped. Every single line is shaky and jagged. The outline is clearly darker than the filled in portion. The parts that are supposed to be symmetrical are all over the place. There are parts that are supposed to be separated that are running into each other. Im looking into places that can fix it, but to be honest, Im already considering laser removal. Im not one to write reviews, this is actually the first review Ive ever written, but people need to know. My artist said hes been tattooing since 2003. The tattoo on my leg is inexcusable. If he thought my tattoo idea wasnt a good one for the Friday the 13th deal, he shouldve said something. I had other ideas. I realize that the deal gives the client a cheap tattoo, and thats why I chose something simple. If the artist thought it was not appropriate for such a deal, he shouldve told me, so I couldve given him one of my other ideas. The stencil on my leg looked good and clean, so I dont know what happened. I dont know if he just didnt care that my tattoo is terrible, maybe he just wanted to go home. Maybe he thought I wouldnt know the difference one way or the other, even though I have several tattoos that are visible on my arms. Whatever the reason, there is no excuse that an artists that has been tattooing since 2003 could absolutely destroy my leg. Im so upset. Dont go to this tattoo shop, the artists evidently dont care if they do good work. From other reviews, the piercers seem like they know what theyre doing, so that might still be a safe bet. As I said before, this is my first review ever, so that should tell you how bad my tattoo is.

Scheduling can be hard sometimes, as I often have difficulty getting the front desk people to answer the phone. Other than that, I have had two smaller tattoos done there for very reasonable prices and with good work. I have had a couple piercings done there as well, all of them have healed well and were well-placed. It has also been easy to get replacement bars or rings without much difficulty.

This place is very laid back and very friendly I love that its a big family. I have the honor of letting my tattoo artist Todd Irving pour his soul and talent into making my tattoos very real and so life like. Ive waited several years to have My In Loving Memory tattoo for my Nieces, Mom and Grandma and Im so glad I meet him and has made my life long wish a reality. This means more to me than anything I could of ever imagined. I want to Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Your work is priceless.

What a great experience. Jimmy was 8nsightful and really listened to what I wanted done. His work is the greatest. I had three done but heres the only good picture right now. Hes an absolute impact and a great artist.

Ive gotten multiple piercings here. the actual piercing process is fast. i like that they allow more than one person in the room with you. they’re friendly and have good prices. i have minimal complaints.

Longtime fan of Sachs for 10+ years I had previous piercings there, I went on my birthday & got the Monroe piercing that Id been wanting a very long time & although the piercer was polite 🚩I had to be pierced 2 times in one sitting! because the 1st one didnt go in right, I was very Disappointed with the end result of placement of the piercing $70+ isnt cheap (I was left with Abnormal high pain & a nerve issue in my lip because he hit a nerve &part of my lip is numb! even after I removed jewelery ! Hoping its not Permanent)I included tip Before peircing,I would go back but Im a little nervous after such a bad experience ! If I go back will not be letting that piercer touch me again...⭐UPDATE : I went back into the shop after speaking to someone about the incident I had and was recommended highly to Callen the other piercer so even though I was nervous I came in to see Callen for him to redo my Monroe piercing, He Extremely kind,understanding and patient with me being nervous because of my previous Bad experience ,He walked me through everything he was doing he followed very strict proper procedure before my piercing made sure i was happy with the placement first then made sure my mouth was sanitized with mouthwash Etc ,he walked me through every step before & during the piercing, was not very painful at all ,he did such a beautiful job! Im so glad I went back! anyone thats considering getting pierced here please ask for Callen ONLY hes the best of the best! i will definitely be back for more piercings because of him &be referring others to the shop! :)

Sachs has been an Nob Hill staple for years! Ive never had the opportunity to go inside, let alone get something pierced! I went in and got my nose pierced and it was a sterile, smooth process. The environment is clean. The staff wash their hands multiple times, all the jewelry had been sterilized/autoclaved and they walk you through the entire process. For piercings, there are no appointments, you can just call or stop in. Tattoos do require appointments for obvious reasons. Im very pleased with my piercing and recommend to go to Sachs for your piercing needs!

Me and my daughter have gotten a few piercings here now and they do a great job. We went in for my birthday my daughter got a double nose peircing and they did a great job. I got my septum pierced and it came out crooked but he fixed it immediately but omg it hurt the first time so really hurt the second time. I know just my luck on my birthday. But he was professional about the situation and I am glad i dont have a crooked piercing. I just bought awesome jewelry today too and really happy with my new jewelry will be going back for more.

Got my nose pierced by Billy back in July loved it!First piercing I ever got and he helped me stay calm and taught me what to do with taking care of it.Definitely recommend them!

Got a tattoo a little over a month ago. I walked in and told Nick, the artist, that I wanted a feather as big as he could make it on my side for $80. He free handed it and the tattoo came out beautiful. Everyone who sees it cant believe the price and that he free handed it. He was very friendly, it was my first tattoo and he did perfect, it healed great and I would go back to him. My other tattoo that I paid more for and got about a week after the feather came out botched and I wish I had gone back to Nick for it.

Walked in and immediately the place smelled disgusting it was overwhelming. Front counter people did not try to help me at all when they did they were very rude the tattoo artists portfolio were horrible Michael Royal the tattoo artist was very rude and did not look like he knew what he was doing The other guys portfolio was even worse I cant believe this place cause its self a tattoo shop.I would not recommend the shop to anybody there is a lot better shops in the area

We called around to a bunch of places to get my daughters belly button pierced. We asked about age and documentation requirements, what time they closed, etc. We get down there and are then told wed need an appointment.... which we could get if we call their listed number. At no time did the person who answered that line offer that information. We took our business elsewhere.

Got my snake eyes tongue piercing. Lovely experience! It was very professional, sanitary, and quick. Also got my nipples done there a year ago. Highly recommended 👍

So I got a side to side penis peircing today and the guy that did it was awesome. I had a bad experience with a tattoo artist last year, but this so much made up for it. I think that the guy who did the peircing was named Cameron. He was friendly, compassionent, helpful, and it was a very uncomfortable experience. That dude rocks. Im gay, and he was very obviously straight and he helped me do what I needed to do to make the experience okay. Thank you.Hey guy, this has been a very obviously unpleasant experience so far...and I thank you for being as great as you are. The barbell is a tad too small and you said that a part of the service was resizing. Also, you said to wait 3 weeks, so can we make an appointment?Also, you took a pic and Im so not ashamed, so post them wherever.

I was visiting the area on vacation. They took me as a walk-in. The staff were great they even monitored my parking meter for me. James is excellent, he tattooed exactly what I took in. Id definitely have more work done by him when I am in the area again.

Got my industrial pierced by Billy. Amazing guy. Explained everything perfectly, showed me exactly where the bar would sit and placed it so I could have more ear piercings if I wanted. Very friendly, quick and as painless as possible. Definitely going back for more!

Went with my friend and each of us got a tattoo. Her hand tattoo is almost completely rubbed off and mine looks worse than some of my tattooes I got years ago. I have never had someone fill in a whole tattoo (dog paw print) with just one needle. It looks like someone scribbled on me. Feel like this guy was rushed cuz he pushed out both tattooes in less than an hour. None of the lines were clean and I honestly don’t even want to go back for a touch up. Already looking to get a cover up somewhere else. Don’t recommend this place for tattooes.

Worst place ever! Daughter got piercing was great was told we can get it removed free of charge however when we went back we got every excuse in the book to NOT remove it... Was told she needed me her mother to be there we went back later mind you we live over 30 miles away and again was denied saying we needed her birth certificate, was not told this prior when she first came in I asked if they did not have her records and they agreed they did not even though it was about a year ago... Then they had the balls to put down the original piercer saying they wouldnt of done that kind of piercing (lower lip dermal) bs never give this place my business again!

Callen did all my anchor piercings and throughout the years, he was always consistent and extremely kind. Going to miss him.

. I was told by a friend that this was a good place to receive a piercing. I got a regular nose piercing. The piercer was quick but felt rushed. I came back 10 weeks later (let him know time frame) to have him exchange jewelry because they ran out of hoops and I didnt like the stud. He must had used a bigger gauge because it hurt like heck and within a day I had the puss bump. Fast forward 12 WEEKS later and was still infected/had a bump after cleaning 4 times a day with what they recommended. I finally went to Evolution, and with their direction, it has gone away. Beware.

James is hands down one of the best artists in town. W/ Art College credentials.He Will draw you a 1 of a kind design and make it pop on your skin for a very reasonable price.

My only go to spot for piercings, Callen who is one of the main piercers is friendly, professional, and experienced. The shop is always clean, and I have never had any issues with any of my piercings.

My son and I went into Sacks to get our father son matching tattoos, a simple pocket watch with a specific time, the time is wrong the detail is non existent, my tattoo has random extra minute dots between the numbers and not the same amount of minute dots between any set of numbers, the watch is oval not round and really bad shading, my sons tattoo is the same but his is missing Minute dots between the 11 and 12. I have done business with Sacks off and on for years but I think at this point we will not return nor recommend them for tattoos.

Staff is very nice but I was disappointed with the price. They wanted to charge $70 for earlobe piercings alone, jewelry was separate. I’m okay with spending more on jewelry but I thought that was expensive, especially considering I’ve had other piercings in harder to reach places for $60 with jewelry included

I can only reccommend going elsewhere for your tattoo or piercing.Yes, theyre cheap.Yes, theyre friendly.But, their tattoo artists are not worth going to. And their best piercer cant pierce anything straight.I had a friend that got a tattoo of a tree on her ribcage there and it was lopsided with messy linework. It was even blown out in a few places.Another friend of mine went for nipple piercings and was pierced crooked and too deep into the areolas.If only I had heard her story before I went. Billy Fingers, the best at what he does, (according to another man working there) pierced me crooked not once, but twice. And too deep into the areolas. Not to mention, he gave me aftercare instructions that completely contradicted the instructions in the pamphlet given to me.Please, please, please... Do not get tattood or pierced at Sachs. It is not worth the pain.

Do not get your tattoo done here. PERIOD. I got a finger tattoo with Bobby about a month ago in late August 2015 and went back early Oct. to get a retouch because he said that ink doesnt stay well in finger tattoos. When he was tattooing me, he seemed more focused on the TV and was really impatient/short with me when I was asking him questions about the care for my tattoo. He said to come back after my tattoo had healed for a free touch up, guaranteed. Fast forward a month or so, I went back to get a retouch that IS supposed to be free but I was told that Bobby no longer works at Sachs (and that he was going to open his own shop - I dont blame him) so automatically it would cost for someone else to do it even though they guaranteed me that it would be free. All in all, Sachs is very unprofessional, incompetent, rude, unreliable, patronizing, and deplorable. I really wish I could give they zero stars, tbh. In all honesty, there are so many other better tattoo parlor in Central that you could go to. Get it together, Sachs.
