For years I looked then finally I found Richard and followed him for several more years before I decided on what I wanted. I Love his artwork! His freehand is amazing. I wouldnt go anywhere else. plus his shop is comfortable & clean. Perfect place to sit back and get a tattoo.

I went in for a flash sale tattoo and Joerael was my artist. He does the most to make you feel your most comfortable throughout your whole experience and is the kindest, most down to earth person. Hes incredibly detail oriented and loves to play around with a bunch of different styles. I loved my flash sale tattoo so much I had to book him again for a cover-up Ive been wanting to do for awhile. He was super enthusiastic for the challenge I gave him and it turned out even better than I imagined. It was a small cover-up piece but the detail is amazing and Im super happy with it still months later and hes super reasonable. Joerael will be my go-to tattoo artist for a long time to come.

Been tattooing 20 years come August, and iron anchor has been the best shop I’ve ever stepped foot in. It’s truly a honor to work along so much talent. I got my first tattoo here and had a wonderful experience. My tattoo artist, CJ, went above and beyond to make sure i had a great first tattoo experience. I was very nervous about the pain that would come with the needle and CJ made sure I was comfortable and did everything he could to make sure the skin was numb. His attention to detail was amazing. Tattoo came out great and I couldn’t be happier. He kept me preoccupied by chatting with me and distracting me from the thought of a needle piercing through my skin. I highly recommend this place especially for first timers.

My artist was CJ (stitch) he did an incredible job designing and applying my hand tattoo, did a truly incredible job! He has incredible bedside manner and provided an overall perfect professional experience! Also the shop has such an awesome chill vibe! I’ve been here a few times with my kids and friends, the staff is friendly and professional, Joe Rael is always so welcoming and explains the meaning behind tattoos and art so well.

3 year update. Still absolutely pleased with his work. Ive added a picture of my tattoo after 3 years. It is the one right after his business card.Very Clean. Good parking. Was able to park at the back and avoid the parking meeting. My tattoo artists was able to create an image from several images and ideas that I gave him. He was very professional and gentle. It was my first tattoo and he patient and explained everything to me and made me feel comfortable. Estimated time was 1.5 hours I think we spent almost 2 hours. But it didnt matter the atmosphere at the shop was so chill the time just flew by. He used lidocaine to help with pain control which was a plus. Price was 150. Will be going back for 2 more turtles. I want an arm sleeve of an underwater scene. My tattoo artist name is Joshua Resner.

I got a matching tattoo with my best friend from Cj and he went above and beyond for us! I usually go here for my tattoos but my recommendations will not be sent here no longer, and I will no longer come here for my tattoos. I’m a regular customer and no I do not expect special treatment but I went here for Friday the 13th tattoos. Online they say running until 9:00 PM. I stood in line since 1:00 PM, they started at 12:000, and not once did they go outside to see their line, not once did they come out to say they weren’t going to take any of us in after 6:00 PM. Come 6:30 I was still halfway in the line SIX HOURS IN and the shop sends out their apprentice to tell the around two hundred people standing OUTSIDE IN 30 degree weather that they will no longer take them. The line had not moved for about 2 hours because they were allowing people to get over 8 tattoos while they had a line of hundreds standing outside for longer than 7 hours. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

If it was an option to give this place zero stars, I would give it zero stars I came in with five guests we all got tattoos, and I was the last person waiting for my tattoo just to be told that mine wasn’t going to be part of the flash sale or whatever it was even though it was sitting up there so we sat in the lobby for about an hour overall just for the artist to walk up and say oh man, it looks like we’re not gonna be able to do this one for That price though we came in with five people getting over five tattoos out of zero overall experience garbage

WIAF vs WIGIt’s always frustrating and disappointing when a tattoo artist claims they can do work that they really can’t. Both tattoos I got were a disappointment. As you can see in the picture, I asked for a fairly simple coffee cup cat tattoo like the one on the arm (not mine) and what I got on my back was a bunch of blocks and shapes that barely resemble cats.Then I asked for the stars on my head to be relined since they were starting to fade. Instead, the artist nicked the back of my ear while doing the line work behind my ear. He didn’t even bother to tell me, even though he made my ear bleed and I now have a permanent black line on the back of my ear that doesn’t belong there! I will never go back and warn you to avoid this place too.

Cynthia Camille is tremendous. Her art is as ORIGINAL as you are. The artists talent translates to a wide range of styles and aspects. A very creative and collaborative person. I got tattoos from her now and got more lined up. I recommend Cynthia to the first timer or to the tattoed one with that last patch of skin left to tatt because you are GOING to want a work of art from her. Thank you Cynthia!

5 stars for Opus work is beautiful and very fast. Had to change review to 0 . Made an appointment with Opus for my brother he handed off to Darcy. She asked for 30 min to sketch. After 30 min she went outside to vape. We waited 30 minutes and went outside to ask about work. She said it had been a long day and we could leave if we didnt want to get work. Unbelievable!!!

Got a tattoo done here last month that needs some touching up. I asked Darcy twice if I could come back in some time, and my messages were read and completely ignored. Obviously my business isnt wanted.

So friendly there. Did exactly what I wanted, refined line, re did the stencil. Made me extremely comfortable for my first tattoo. Lots of joking and conversing. I plan on coming back and bringing in more people to this wonderful shop!

Extremely unprofessional. My friends and I had arranged to go to work early and skipped lunch to get out early and be at the Friday the 13th event. We were in line by 2pm. It is now 6:30 and they have just told us all of our time has been wasted. No vouchers were offered, not even to people in front of us that had been there 6 hours. The lady was rude and claimed “they didn’t want to lose money”. I lost money waiting in that line. I will never recommend this place to anyone, nor will I ever return. Bad business.

Ive gotten 4 diffrent tattoos here by three diffrent artists over the past 3 years. Never had a bad experience here. Every artist was very skilled and the price is very reasonable. My favorite place to get a tattoo in ABQ.

Walked in and nobody greeted me, everyone was otp, i guess someone threw a rock at their window and there was glass all over and didn’t tell us till after when we stepped all over it, took about and hour to get ready and set up the stencils (not complicated tattoo) and messed up my line work, i got thin lining and it’s thicker then intended, she missed lines, did multiple of the same ones, and on my boyfriends she missed multiple lines, messed up on MANY lines, DEFINITELY GO TO POR VIDA FOR GOOD LINE WORK

I accompanied my granddaughter to get her a tattoo. The tattooist was named Mod. He was welcoming, conversational, and always made sure my granddaughter was OK while he was tattooing. His artwork was exceptional. Thank you, Mod, excellent work.

Was out with my sister and saw an image I HAD to have as a tattoo, walked in to the shop, and showed them. He made a stencil and got me as a walk in! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING WORK!!! I am so ecstatic about my tattoo 🖤🖤 Mod did amazing and I can’t wait to get another tat from him

Came in from out of town with a coworker. Both of us got work done immediately without an appointment time. My artist didn’t start until I was 100% satisfied with what was being done. Great place all around. Everyone in there talks to you as if they’ve known you your whole life. It’s hard to find a shop as awesome as this place.

They gace my son a tattoo, with my authorization, at 17 last year. We went on Monday, & because he didnt have an ID, because MVD has been giving him the run around, they wouldnt do his tattoo. ..even fhough I was there to vouch for him...guess they didnt want his $$$.

Got a arm piece done a while back by a guy named Dave paid upfront did one session and Dave ghosted me and never finish my tattoo. Ruined my whole experience and still have unfinished ink. I don’t recommend this place I got scammed.

The artist, Charles Palmer is extremely unprofessional. When I had gone in to get tattooed he made me feel extremely uncomfortable. He would text me inappropriate things and would suggest sexual favors in order to get a better deal on my tattoo. It was my first tattoo so I didnt enjoy my experience the slightest bit. I had recently seen that he sent pictures of his genitals to another girl on Facebook. If Iron Anchor Tattoo condones this employees disgusting behavior I would not recommend getting tattoos from their establishment. Again, this behavior is unacceptable.

This shop is giving the rest of us a bad name. You cant cheat the locals, or be racist to hispanic girls, people of Albuquerque are good people and deserve better. Judging by the reviews and your shops responses is clear that you only treat half the people good. I wonder what half that is? Anyway i give you 2 stars because im sure you can do better. However the BBB, Better Business Bureau gave you a D+No bueno...

Seldom give 5 stars, but the outside building facade of the Iron Anchor Tattoo Parlour just inspires creativity...i can only imagine the tattoo artists draw from this to create some amazing art and lasting impressions tatted on your skin. Across from UNM Campus, limited free parking, but plenty of street metered parking and paid lots, handicap accessible, near bus stops and nearby bicycle racks to lock up your bike.

I went there for their opening and they were doing $20 2X2 tattoos. My artist, and I wish I could remember his name, gave me a crooked uneven HORRIBLE tiara on my ankle. Not to mention after he was done I heard him ask his friend if they wanted to take another shot. Now I have to get this awful thing covered up because I am so embarrassed by this disaster of a tattoo on my ankle.
